I recently got the game and loved it... which it has been giving me brain-rot. For example, Akito is definitely not 100% after that.

He's definitely gonna be superstitious as hell.

Why wouldn't he: he had a wrath, KK— may his soul rest in peace, possess him and fought spirits. Spirits that over-ran Tokyo, devoring souls for a mad lunatic.

Oh, did I mention that he was the only person alive in all of Tokyo (if you don't count his sister)?

Then there's the whole talking to KK's family thing.

Yeahhh, I can only imagine how sick/nerves it made Akito to talk to KK's family, who probably didn't think anything of it when he didn't come home. Because, as he said, it was more often than not that he stayed at work.

Kinda wished there was a DLC or, maybe, a spin-off that takes place after the ending. It could some psychological horror, too...

they really did drop all the heavy and sad stuff right at the end of the game didnt they (I'm... okay, I'm really not though)

also, SHINJI MIKAMI PERFORMED THE PIANO SEQUENCE IN THE PIANO SCHOOL SIDE MISSION 😱 as expected of the producer of tew (claire de lune..) but also what a cool way to feature oneself in a game!! also the soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful i love it and i know im gonna listen to it a ton (while writing kk/akito fanfic huehue)

i can't believe how beautiful their bond was though ... i really can't. i can't believe it's over!! there's an emote called dual souls (fun fact, my first gw:t fic is called two souls lol) and it sums up perfectly how gaaay they are together. you did not have to make them so gay for each other in the game, but I'm glad you did, it would have been much less entertaining otherwise.

oh and my playtime was 75 hours holy haha (with some idle time) time well spent though!! it was so relaxing to be playing this game aah I'm just missing one of the blue stones i believe? dangg i really wanted to figure out what that was for. also I'm so sad i died once during a fight i was determined to not let them die aaargh! because of the power of love, you know

but yep perfect game for me it was really like perfectly tailored to my taste i knew immediately from the first voice line of kk that it would end up this way and it did. i got possessed.

so yeah this is my love letter to shinji mikami and tango gameworks now. congrats guys. after tew, another banger game that I won't ever be able to get out of my head.

Still working my way through GhostWire, thus far having managed to avoid spoilers. I've mentioned before I really want to do a DP cross with this at some point and it occurs to me that GhostWire could set up an interesting premise - that the Fentons weren't wrong in their theories, except that what they had collected data from wasn't ghosts!

In GhostWire Tokyo, there have thus far been some different flavors of supernatural. Spirits, that is to say human ghosts, Yokai, whatever the Eff KK has going on (it's implied he had these powers before death, so not purely a ghost thing), and the Visitors, which is the main enemy you fight.

Visitors are entities from another world, created from negative human, and possibly reflecting the appearance of certain humans if I'm understanding one of KKs casefiles right. They can seem human-like and have movements that seem cheerful or quizzical, but they're extremely malevolent, their only intentions towards the living being to bring harm.

Sounds a lot like how the Fenton's describe ghosts, huh?

So this would go that during their research in college, Jack, Maddie, and Vlad somehow stubbled onto the Visitors and thought they were ghosts. They dedicated themselves to their research, complicated by the fact that they were mistaking two different entities for one and the same. By the time we get to the events of the show Jack and Maddie have collected enough data on ghosts that they're able to invent weapons to use against them and even create a portal to their world. But they *think* these are the same evil as the Visitors, hence their attitudes closer to destruction than scientific study.

oh good, i get to explain this to you [unskippable cutscene]

ok i do have to preface this by saying. the game itself is not the best. the story is mediocre, the combat is mediocre, but the visuals are stunning and it really shines with spotlighting japanese culture and myth! the place it really got me is with the main characters, but that’s another paragraph.

without giving too many spoilers, it follows a college student named Akito who nearly dies in a car crash. being near-death allows a nearby spirit looking for a home to possess him, except being possessed lets him heal (?? i guess?? again, not the best plot) and suddenly they’re hanging out in the same body. the spirit is actually a 40ish paranormal detective named KK who’s trying to stop the main villain, Hannya, from stealing the spirits of everyone in Shibuya, Japan and using them to open (??) a gate to the underworld. again, plot is not their strongest suit.

i think the game’s strongest points are twofold: in the side quests that develop the lore of the game, and the characterization of the two main characters, which is the part i’m going insane about. (they share a body. they spend the whole time bickering). you can also pet the dogs/cats!!!

i’m currently writing a fic for Akito and KK which is making me crazy. i’m 8.6k in and i’m hoping to get it out soon?? ish??

So Ghostwire Tokyo is one of the few FP games that doesn't give me violent motion sickness and I love it!

But damn I want to read some fics, hear some people's theories about what's going on but I know if I do I'm going to spoiler myself and I'm trying so hard to avoid that
