My original intention is to make a whole long series of episodes of why the Primo family filler of KHR anime suck, and it would be actually an easy effort because almost every single episodes got something wrong, but I am too lazy to screenshot so yeah just put here the top reason why this filler itches me so much: Giotto's word when confronting Daemon after the Mist trial.

(Why do I even use the word "confront" this guy basically turns a blind eyes to his ex-guardian kidnapping his descendants' friends and trapping those kids, why do I even use the word "confront"?)

To put it bluntly, I have no problem with Giotto and Daemon making up after more than a decade of being apart. At the same time, I also have no problem with Giotto missing Daemon or being nostalgic about their friendship and thus forgiving Daemon stabbing him in the back. (And at the other end of the stick, there is nothing wrong with the Will-Daemon moving on and reconciling with Giotto while theoretically the ghost-Daemon is currently causing chaos and sufferings for the Simon Tenth out there) In short, there's no problem with the two of them being friend, at all.

And yet the scriptwriters have to choose the worst wordphrase possible for Giotto to express his feeling. In the 7,749 possible ways for the blond Primo to try to reconcile with his friend, he must choose the way of speaking to plummet this scene straight into the abyss regarding the total plot of KHR.

No, Giotto could have said directly "I want you to return to our family", or even more directly, "I miss you" to Daemon. But he has to say it like this. He has to say that his feelings towards Daemon have not changed after what Daemon did.

Which mean, in regard of the total plot of KHR, in regard of the Inheritance arc in the manga, that means Daemon almost killed Cozart and Cozart's entire family by using Giotto's name to lure Cozart to death. His betrayal almost kills Cozart and Giotto in here vocally states out that his feelings towards Daemon doesn't change.

"I still consider you as a friend even when another friend of mine almost died because of you being angry at me and my ideal." Yes, that's how this scene plays out to me. Even more ironically if we take the context of Giotto and Daemon mentioning about eternal friendship right before this sentence, because it would mean in the name of eternal friendship with Daemon Giotto is willing to be okay with Daemon messing with the Simon, and forgives Daemon for dragging Cozart and Cozart's family into a Vongola-personal-conflict between Giotto and Daemon.

May I ask, in the name of eternal friendship with Daemon, where is any value of friendship with Cozart presented, as Giotto says that there is nothing change in his feeling even when Cozart almost dies? And I am not even taking the fact that the Simon, now, is still suffered due to Daemon because perhaps Giotto doesn't know about it.

Until there is a reasonable answer for the "Cozart almost dying with the Simon doesn't make Giotto change his feeling or viewing towards his subordinate who committed that sin, yet he still makes Cozart's blood into the family heirloom to represent the family sin" statement, this scene in filler eliminates the chance of Simon arc being aired. If we follow the flow of the anime, Giotto right before the Inheritance arc indirectly dimisses the whole tragedy regarding the Simon and the arc after he is shown to be in deep friendship with that same founder of the Simon. Hypocrisy or two-faced, the card is being brought to the table here.

Somehow I managed to get them all related

Headcanon:

Well, I really like Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I really like Byakuran, Mukuro, Hibari and Tsuna, especially Byakuran. Now, I was playing with headcanons and thought it wouldn't be unusual for many mafia families to be related to each other if they wanted to maintain "purity" of blood. I thought that if you searched your family trees, you would find members of different families, including the Vongola. So I said to myself, I want the Tri-ni-sette skies to be related and I started to see how they could.

Since we have the Sawada family tree more or less complete and I could see more or less how many generations there were, I decided to expand it a little.

Ambrogio Fabbri, later known as Giotto di Vongola, would move to Japan, taking three of his guardians with him: Luigi "G" Sorrentino, Ugetsu Asari and Carlo "Knuckle" Corazza. Alaude le Tellier would leave with them, but would eventually find his way to China where he would meet his wife, Míngxiá Wǔ, member of the ancient Wǔ clan. Damian "Daemon" Spade would stay in the mafia, becoming Secondo's Mist, and Lamberto "Lampow" Balzarini would escape to Liguria where he would marry Danila Bovino, a farmer's daughter.

Giotto would take with him Daemon and Elena Weatherington's biological daughter, Helen, who would have been no more than 4 years old at the time.

In Japan, Giotto would meet and marry Ayako Urushisako, and together they would have Yoshimune Sawada. Yoshimune Sawada would in turn marry Sakuya Uryūhara, and have twins Yoshinobu and Nobuyasu Sawada. From here the divergence of the canon begins.

Yoshinobu would marry Nogiku Kohinoki, and continue the family line until reaching Iemitsu Sawada, who would marry Nana Hitogi and they would have Tsunayoshi Sawada.

Nobuyasu Sawada (OC) would leave Japan to return to his Italian roots, because he felt it was "calling" him. He would meet and fall in love with Fiammetta Gesso, the only daughter of a landowner who was slowly becoming a mafia family. After marrying, he would adopt his wife's surname and would also have twins, Raffaello and Michele Gesso, of whom Michele, the youngest, would become the heir of the family because Raffaello would fall in love with the Sixth Chief of the Giglio Nero famiglia, Sibilla Giglio Nero and would become the father of Marcella Giglio Nero, who would give birth to Luciana "Luce" Giglio Nero, making him the great-great-grandfather of Eunice "Uni" Giglio Nero.

Michele Gesso and Iolanda Passantino would have Uriele Gesso. Uriele Gesso in turn would marry Romina Cavallone, and from their marriage Gabriele Gesso would be born. Gabriele Gesso would marry Maria Sole Scicolone, but she would turn out to be sterile, so he would look for a child in the Japanese fashion designer, Setsuka Nishikiori, who came from Namimori. Setsuka was unaware that her lover was married and a mafia member, and by the time she discovered it, she was already pregnant. In desperation, she fled to the United States with her unborn child and would change her identity to Selina Nield, giving her son two names at birth: Barnaby Nield and Byakuran Nishikiori. But despite her efforts, Gabriele would finally find her seven years later and order her murder. After that, he took custody of his son.

That's more or less what I have of the Giglio Nero and Gesso families. He has many OCs (if you can say that), but remember that there is no information on the family life of Giotto and his guardians after leaving the mafia, and asexual reproduction in humans is currently impossible so the children had to come from somewhere. From my point of view, for such a great resemblance, the boys should at least descend from the guardians.

Maybe if I get up to it, I'll do something with the families of G, Knuckles, Daemon and his daughter mentioned here, who is Mukuro and Chrome's ancestor

PS: Fon belongs to the Wǔ clan, in fact he is the younger brother of the current matriarch. The Wǔ clan is a Chinese clan of martial artists who have existed for at least a thousand years and are capable of using dying will flames. The Hibari family is a secondary branch that descends from some of them who left China for Japan, and it is not strange that every few generations some members get together.

Funfact Amano did have an Italian assistant that would help her with stuff. Which brings up Amano was actually accurate on the clothing of the 19th century also Giotto retired to Japan so he would’ve had to do that within that century because that’s when Japan started opening up the boarders fully.

Although my mind still struggles a bit, it means that at least a couple of Vongola bosses were bosses for a very short time, on average 10 generations are roughly 300 years, so that poses different questions on who the previous Vongola bosses were, how long they stayed as bosses, was there anything significant happening before the Nono and Decimo?

While I’m stressing over finals, have some oc content in the form of videos and lore posts because I refuse to be near a computer outside of school until next week. Send an ask if you have questions about any of my ocs that can’t be found on their profiles or if they don’t have a profile yet.

I realized I never made like an actual post talking about Dimitri being possessed and all of his diagnoses. At the age of seven Dimitri was possessed by two spirits, a kitsune and one of his ancestors. At the age of ten he was diagnosed with Multiple Personalities Disorder (MPD, it’s the 80s so the term switch hasn’t happened yet). At the age of 14 Dimitri was bit by a werewolf.

Most of his character development is revolved around coming to terms that he can’t ignore his diagnosis, the fact that he’s a werewolf and the fact that he’s possessed by two dickhead spirits as it is all apart of him. It got pretty hard ignoring them once he realized that he would need Ricardo’s help if he was to take over the family business like his grandparents want him to.

He also had to learn how to control not only the powers he gained from Húlí, the kitsune, but also to learn how to hold back Ricardo, his many times great uncle, from taking his revenge out everyone. Then there’s the trying to figure out how to not randomly turn into a different person when he’s stressed out.

The switches were never noticeable until at least five minutes after they happened because that’s when people realized Dimitri or Damian or Volk (the werewolf) was no longer with them. It became slightly easier when Dimitri mastered his mist flames and they all started reconfiguring the body into their imagine of what they wanted to look like.

There’s six “personalities” as the psychiatrist likes to call them. In reality there’s only three personalities, Dimitri the “main” that’s just regular shmegular Dimitri with all his mental disorders. Depression, anxiety from whenever he’s near Giotto and Angelica (his father and mother), PTSD, the adhd. Faceclaim: Jabari Banks

Ricardo is the many times great uncle of Dimitri. It’s not really known how Dimitri came to be possessed by Ricardo and you can’t really take the word of a known psychopath. He takes the form of what he looked like before he died, a curly brown haired and blue eyed Italian. Faceclaim: Penn Badgley

Húlí is a kitsune who had recently “accidentally” got their previous user killed in the forest behind the Vongola mansion. Húlí attached onto the closet powerful being they could so there wouldn’t be another mishap like what had happened with the previous user. He’s not necessarily a vengeful spirit, he just loves to fuck with people and uses his powers to inconvenience others. Faceclaim: Son Woo-Hyun

Volk is what Rowen started calling Dimitri’s werewolf and it kinda just stuck. Dimitri got bit at the age of 14 while he was wandering around the expansive forest behind the mansion even after he was explicitly told to stop going back there. During the week leading up to the full moon is when Volk decides to be present and he didn’t want to be left out of all the fun of switching Dimitri’s body around. Faceclaim: Tom Welling

Then there’s Damian, he was formed to keep Dimitri from remembering most of his abusive history with Giotto. Damian is who mostly interrupts Dimitri’s life if he feels something could trigger Dimitri. Damian will often forth when Dimitri ever has to interact with Giotto or his mother to shield Dimitri from their abusive tendencies. He tends to take the form of a more Asian looking boy to try and connect more with his Asian side of the family. Faceclaim: Ryan Potter

Demeter, she was formed after an incident in Russia when she was 8 that she doesn’t like to talk about. She is meant to reflect the childhood Dimitri should’ve had growing up without the threat of his father having a bad day and taking his anger out on him. It took him a few repetitions to notice. Like a song from a music box, the noises from outside his cell were locked in a seamless loop, the same murmur of conversation repeating on a three-sentence beat. Peering through the bars, he could see the guards cycling through their own series of movements, like figures in a zoetrope, standing up and sitting down only to stand up again.

It couldn’t be. He had taken back the Half-Rings. But it could only be— “Spada?”

“Fabio.” Spada emerged from nothingness, as impeccably dressed as ever, and took a seat on the narrow cot pushed against the wall.

“You know,” Fabio said, trying for teasing and arriving at wistful, “I think this is the first time I have heard you call me by my name.”

“Perhaps.” Spada said, tilting his head back, gaze far away, “What else could I call you, here at the end of all things?”

There was no bite to the words, and yet—Fabio sighed, leaning back onto damp concrete. “I suppose you were right then, when you said that the fight would come to us, one way or another. I can hardly call myself Don Vongola when I failed to see that.”

Spada pursed his lips. It was clear he agreed with Fabio’s own judgement, but they had been friends too long to countenance such sharpness easily. The CEDEF Commander settled by saying, neutrally, “You established a foundation for your heir to build upon. The Vongola will not survive its trials without the resources you have acquired.”

Oh. He had hoped, for a moment, that this was a rescue, but he had personally laid down the law regarding the keeping of omerta, and it would have been hypocritical for him to demand an exception.

“I see.” He needed to focus on the important things. “They took the Ring when they came to the house, they knew what it was for, we have a leak. You’ll also need to take Daniela to my sister Claudia in the Vestals, she has my Will in her keeping—I trust that you have no objections to Flavio as my successor?”

Icy water trickling down his spine. Spada was shaking his head, full of sympathy. “Daniela was arrested the same time as you, and Flavio was tricked into giving himself up for her, not that Mori let her free.”

No. The world spun, the floor of his cell came rushing to meet him—cold hands caught him.

"I have failed then, both as a Don and as a father." He said into the orange flower water scented shoulder of his consigliere.

"Flavio shines gold with honour," Spada said, not quite disagreeing, "He can capture hearts, but is unsuited to scheming."

"But?" Fabio clung to the hope in the upturned lilt at the end of Spada's words.

"But, Daniela blazes as a bonfire." Spada said, "Her Will is unmatched, her courage undaunted, her Flame without peer. Your daughter, Fabio, has the heart and stomach of a king. I would offer the Rings to her."

"She is young." Fabio whispered, "A girl, besides. The Vongola will not bow to her."

"She has the Will to hold it." Spada drew away so that their eyes met keeping his hands on Fabio's shoulders. "Trust in her, and in me who trusts in her. I have witnessed the rise and fall of many heroes, and in Daniela I see strength and conviction which would shame Ricardo. Make a new will here, Settimo, and your daughter will see your dream of the cosa nostra united under Vongola's banner through."

At that, his Intuition, silent in helplessness, pinged. He focused on the incongruity in Spada's declaration. "You would compare Daniela to secondo, not primo?"

Spada smiled, nostalgic laughter in his eyes. "She is as Ricardo, Fabio. The one who rallies the family once their predecessor's failures overtake it. You are like Giotto.”

“The one who failed?”

His friend’s gaze softened. “The dreamer who gave me hope. Giotto was like a shooting star, a spot of brilliance burning out and fading fast, and like him, your work was not half-done when your will faltered. And though for the sake of those works I have turned from you, they sprung from you nonetheless, and I cherish the memories of our fellowship, the joy of which I shall use to hone my grief into vigilance. This I swear.”

Fabio swallowed, his mouth had suddenly gone very dry. That flash of sapphire, years ago, when they had bared their hearts to each other. “I would rather that you just lived—looked up Katzbalger’s old retirement plans, maybe.”

“You need not wish me well.” His friend kissed his hand, the hand bereft of the Vongola Ring for the first time in more than two decades. “You have already returned love to me, when all I had was hate. For your sake, Fabio, I shall avenge thee, and see your children grow old.”

Flavio would be safe too then, under the dark wings of his godfather.

“You speak as if I am already dead.”

“You will be.” The man who had been his External Consultant said at least had the decency to look him in the eyes as he said it, as steady and inexorable as the age-old beat of a marching drum. “You have failed, and have been defeated, Don Vongola. It is time to do as the Romans do, and fall on your sword—or would you give the government their very own puppet, or else allow their kangaroo courts the humiliation of the Vongola name?”

“I cursed my father for putting pride before life and love.” Fabio said.

“You would give your life for love and freedom.” Said the one who had once been one mind with him. “Worry not for your kin. Sostrata has taken your mother to safety in England, and your wife has will return to her father’s house to politic for Daniela there, once your last affairs are arranged. Flavio is being kept in the same gaol as this, and the tumult over your death will give Timoteo the opportunity to extract him. I shall retrieve Daniela myself.”

That was all he still cared about taken care of. Fabio did not relish the thought of life in prison, or giving the government the satisfaction of his execution. But—he had one question left.

“Is my death the price you demand for your service, Daemon Spade?”

His friend froze. Then he started chuckling, vibrant colour seeping into his eyes and hair—pale hair and steel-blue eyes, of course, Daemon would have delighted in getting one over his old rival.

“One might understand it thusly.” Daemon said, drawing himself up to his full height—clearly, the first impression he had given Fabio had been no act, the man was an utter peacock. “Bind me with your lifeblood and last breath, Vongola Settimo, and your daughter shall command the deathless bogeyman of the underworld.”

In his hand he held a straight razor, its edge so sharp as to cut without pain.

Fabio took it. “That’s a bit small for a sword, isn’t it?” He said drily.

Still. Wrist or neck?

He lifted the blade up, Intuition guiding each movement, then drew it swiftly forwards and down.

The last thing he saw was his friend’s face, leaning in.

“O Fabio,” Daemon Spade promised, “Forgive me this, and I shall make you a pyre worthy of any emperor.”

Cool lips touched Fabio’s, sealing them with a kiss, and he knew no more.

Remember what I said about weird Roman traditions? Daemon is leaning particularly strongly into them because of the whole glorious death and redemption through suicide thing he has going on here. Claudia, Fabio’s younger sister in the Vestals, has custody of his will as would have been the case in ancient Rome.

It is also, according to Wikipedia, custom for the closest relative to seal the passing of spirit from the body with a last kiss, in accordance with a belief that equated the soul with the breath. I think I implied that Daemon was committing literal vampirism with the kiss, drawing out all of Fabio’s lifeforce and power and taking Fabio into him.

Three in the morning and like: if Sepira chose Giotto because she believed in him/saw some potential in him/found whatever Giotto had to be deemed worthy of becoming owner of part-Triniset, and the Vongola ring was supposed to be part of the Triniset system that holds the world's fate, then the Vongola boss selection would have been more interfered with by "some outside forces", no?

Like, think about it. Sepira only chose Giotto, knew Giotto, and she didn't know a thing about about the Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth and so on right? Well, assuming the trial in the ring was Giotto's trusting of the ring to the next Vongola boss, then there's no proof that Sepira trusted those people either. Okay, she could see the future, but there was no way to be 100% sure whether the future would happen in the same way she predicted. Like what if she liked A to be the next boss sucessor but Giotto liked and chose B instead?

So, logically speaking, the next boss of the Vongola should have another test to see if they are worthy of the position of the Triniset holder, right? Or at least have some more opinions coming from "outside of the family" regarding the next heir?

Or, there is something else.

Here, we have the Giglo Nero family that existed at the same time if not said to be even before the Vongola family. We never know what the Giglo Nero family does, but that family has existed to this day, it can't sit around lazily, it must have done something. Now I'm going to theorize that the Giglo Nero family does the job of "surveillance" whether the next Vongola boss in line is worthy of holding a piece of Triniset. We have a period of time when Vongola changed their boss so quick like they were changing their clothes and before I just thought (together with the fandom) that it was a time of war so the boss died early, now I throw this on the table:

There was a time when the Vongola bosses were considered by the "other keepers of Triniset" to be "not worthy" to keep a part of Triniset and hence should be eliminated from the picture. I let the Giglo Nero family do this because they seem to be the best-suited family that knows about Triniset to do this "surveillance" job.

Now if you look at this:

Kawahira just said it was not really his intention to "poke nose" into anything concerning the Vongola and the Mare Rings. He never confirmed in words that he had never interfere with these two sets of rings before. Nor did he said anything about the possibility that the Giglo Nero, or Sepira's family, wouldn't "poke their noses" into these two sets of rings.

And when I think about it, is it weird that both Kawahira and Sepira let the Vongola rings be cut in half (by Giotto) and smashed and reformed later in Tsuna's generation? Is it too much of a change even for a part of stone holding the fate of the world? But now, add this in and thing would be more reasonable: 1) is that both know that it would be hard to find anyone that can hold all the power of the Vongola rings for long, so share half of the power is a understandable solution. Or 2) they want to have a spare B-person just in case A-person holding half of the ring is not up to their standard, so when A is out of the picture, they still have B to be in charge of the Vongola rings until the next person comes into picture.

Now I know there is an explanation for this. Like at the very beginning when receiving the rings, Giotto had stricken the deal first by making both Kawahira and Sepira vow not to interfere with Vongola's bussiness, that of course included and up to the matter of choosing next boss in line. I have read a fanfic where Giotto made a deal with both of them that these people he chose would be "automatically out" of the Arcobaleno system, their flame was no long the matter. (It's Memory by ScarletMisaDomi on AO3 please read this it's so generally awesome) So he made that kind of deal for Kawahira and Sepira not doing anything to Vongola's bosses is a possibility, but then it would be quite a challenge picturing how their deal would reach, since Giotto technically just "borrowed" part of the Triniset system after all, he was not the last say in this.

Rogue finds a man who mysteriously (i.e. standed in an alternate dimension by scientists and had to swim a lot and then climbed a cliff) appeared on the island where she lived, she decided to take him home. Then she names him godfather to her unborn child. Amazing worldbuilding with Flames in this. Xanxus using his Sky Flames to build personas for himself(splitting his Flames into their components and assigning a different alias to each Flame type) to build himself a lifeline until those scientists get him back. My favorite is when he meets who he describes as an unholy combination of Squalo and Mammon as a girl, who eventually brings him home to meet her sisters who also remind him of a genderbent combo of people he knows in KHR. (All he does is hire the girls for the company makes)
