The Company Called Glitch That Nobody and Everybody Wanted (2024)
All photography courtesy of Nick Wilson The Company Called Glitch That Nobody and Everybody Wanted (2024) is the brainchild of SAG wunderkind Graham Holliday. This chap has been one busy bee in terms of pollenating fresh ideas and filming eight short features. ‘Glitch is his first feature length film. It is, presumably, a follow-on of his 5 minute feature Glitch in 2020. Holliday’s film is…

Inspired by @thatscarletflycatcher's list of actors who have appeared in multiple Jane Austen adaptations, I've made a list of actors who have appeared in two or more adaptations of Brontë novels. I've covered all three of the sisters' books and included radio dramas as well as screen and stage adaptations.
*Timothy Dalton played Heathcliff in the 1970 Wuthering Heights film and Rochester in the 1983 Jane Eyre miniseries.
*Toby Stephens played Gilbert Markham in the 1996 Tenant of Wildfell Hall miniseries and Rochester in the 1983 Jane Eyre miniseries.
*Tara Fitzgerald went from playing Toby Stephens' love interest to playing his love interest's childhood abuser – Helen Graham in the 1996 Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Mrs. Reed in the 2006 Jane Eyre.
*John Duttine holds the distinction of having played both Heathcliff and Hindley Earnshaw in different Wuthering Heights adaptations: Hindley in the 1978 miniseries, Heathcliff in the 1995 radio drama.
*Amanda Root played Catherine Earnshaw in the 1995 Wuthering Heights radio drama and (showing her versatility) Miss Temple in the 1996 Jane Eyre film, as well as narrating the 2004 Naxos audiobook of Jane Eyre.
*Emma Fielding is heard in both the 1995 and 2018 radio dramas of Wuthering Heights: as Catherine Linton in 1995 and as Nelly Dean in 2018. She also narrates the 1996 Naxos audiobook of Jane Eyre.
*Geoffrey Whithead played St. John Rivers in the 1973 Jane Eyre miniseries and Mr. Linton in the 1995 Wuthering Heights radio drama.
*Jean Harvey appeared in both the 1973 and 1983 Jane Eyre miniseries: as Mrs. Reed in 1973 and as Mrs. Fairfax in 1983.
*Judy Cornwell played Nelly Dean in the 1970 Wuthering Heights and Mrs. Reed in the 1983 Jane Eyre.
*David Robb played the Count de Hamal in the 1970 Villette miniseries and Edgar Linton in the 1978 Wuthering Heights miniseries.
*Bryan Marshall played Gilbert Markham in the 1968 Tenant of Wildfell Hall miniseries and Dr. John Graham Bretton in the 1970 Villette miniseries.
*Sarah Smart played Catherine Linton in the 1998 Masterpiece Theatre Wuthering Heights, and Carol Bolton, the female Heathcliff character, in the 2002 TV film Sparkhouse, a modernized, gender-flipped retelling of Wuthering Heights.
*Holliday Grainger played Lisa Bolton, the female Hareton/Linton composite character in Sparkhouse, and Diana Rivers in the 2011 Jane Eyre film.
*Sophie Ward played Isabella Linton in the 1992 Wuthering Heights film and Lady Ingram in the 2011 Jane Eyre.
*Morag Hood played Frances Earnshaw in the 1970 Wuthering Heights and Mary Rivers in the 1983 Jane Eyre.
*Jean Anderson played Nelly Dean in the 1963 TV version of Wuthering Heights and Mrs. Maxwell in the 1968 Tenant of Wildfell Hall.
*Barbara Keogh played two unpleasant Brontë maidservants: Zillah in the 1978 Wuthering Heights and Miss Abbot in the 1997 TV film of Jane Eyre.
*Norman Rutherford played the lawyer Mr. Green in the 1978 Wuthering Heights and Sir George Lynn in the 1983 Jane Eyre.
*Anna Bentinck narrated the 2015 Dreamscape Media audiobooks of both Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights.
*Janet McTeer played Nelly Dean in the 1992 Wuthering Heights film and reprised the role as co-narrator of the 2006 Naxos audiobook (she reading Nelly's narration, David Timson reading Lockwood's).
*Edward de Souza played Mr. Mason in two different adaptations of Jane Eyre: the 1973 miniseries and the 1996 film.
Adding Brontë family members and friends into the mix:
*Ida Lupino played Isabella Linton in the Lux Radio Theatre's 1939 adaptation of Wuthering Heights based on the 1939 film, and Emily Brontë herself in the 1946 film Devotion.
*Chloe Pirrie played Emily Brontë in the 2016 TV film To Walk Invisible and Catherine Earnshaw in the 2018 Wuthering Heights radio drama.
*Ann Penfold played Polly Home in the 1970 Villette miniseries and Anne Bontë in the 1973 miniseries The Brontës of Haworth.
*Gemma Jones played Mrs. Fairfax in the 1997 Jane Eyre and Elizabeth Branwell in the 2022 film Emily.
*Richard Kay played William Weightman in The Brontës of Haworth and Lockwood in the 1978 Wuthering Heights.
*Megan Parkinson played Catherine Earnshaw in the 2015 Ambassador Theatre stage adaptation of Wuthering Heights and Martha Brown in To Walk Invisible.
*Susan Brodrick played a barmaid in The Brontës of Haworth and Mary Rivers in the 1973 Jane Eyre.
I'm sure there are plenty more, but this list is long enough for now.

🫡💗🎉🕊️
Let’s live it up y’all I got some canon/OC and canon/canon pairings for a slew of fandoms I’m looking for, as well as some non fandom plots! All M/F pairings.
Here’s my general info: 26, she/her, multiple responses a week, but I can’t ever promise daily. Sometimes it happens though SOMETIMES. Real life comes first and I have jobs and blah blah blah. I prefer discord, multi para, past tense, 3rd person format.
I love smut, love dark themes, I love intensity, drama, romance, all of it baby. My limits are few but most be respected, and I’ll do the same for you.
20 and up please, I don’t care about your IRL gender, as long as you play a male against my female! All characters over 18 as well, please.
Okay, starting with fandoms:
SUCCESSION: Looking for a Kendall Roy (or Roman Roy, or Matteson, or Stewy) against my starving artist/anti-Waystar female OC, for a Romeo and Juliet inspired RP, info available on request. I’m BEGGING for this one. (happy to double up as Shiv in a pairing for you).
HANNIBAL: looking for a Hannibal Lecter AND/OR Will Graham, or Dolarhyde or Male OC against my updated/Fullerverse Clarice Starling (FC: Holliday Grainger), full google doc avail on request!
STRANGER THINGS: Looking for an Eddie, Billy or Steve against my female OC, info available on request.
FALLOUT: Looking for a Nick Valentine or MacCready against my Sole Survivor or female OC. Also open to hearing about your male OCs!
THE BEAR: Looking for a Carmy against my female OC, info available on request.
MARVEL: Looking for a Loki to my Sigyn, AUs and mischief are all welcome!
AND NOW FOR NON FANDOM PLOT WANTS:
PIRATES: give me a plot of a girl encountering a pirate (kidnapping? Friends from youth? Figured out some kind of mutually beneficial situation/deal?) and their unexpected relationship.
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA: Inspired by the book and musical, a theatre "ghost" is enchanted with a young new muse - actress, singer, whatever. Could be fun to do this in the traditional time period, or try something in like.. the Italian Renaissance, or 1910s-20s burlesque.
CULT: any time period at all, but give me a cult leader lead to obsession by one of his brand new young members, making her the object of his affection and a prize to be won/toy to be played with.
Also interested in anything along the lines of WILD WEST, TITANIC, WWI/WWII, or ANYTHING HISTORICAL with a romance focus! Be that noir, fantasy, paranormal, some 90s rom-com vibes, whatever. Just… not of this current time period, lol
You got any ideas that go along these general lines? I’d absolutely love to hear them.
Go ahead and like this and I’ll reach out! I’m HUNGRY y’all, come play!!

Tagged by @macchiatosdumptruck - thank you, lovely! 💖💖
Last song: Elton John / Dua Lipa, "Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)"
Last show/series: Cobra Kai. Surprise! I just started yet another rewatch, this time all the way through Season 5.
Currently watching: Some documentaries on Netflix that have been on my watch list for God knows how long. Right now, Keep Sweet, Pray and Obey, about the FLDS.
Favorite color: Burgundy and teal blue.
Sweet, spicy, or savory: All of the above? Anything with good flavor. But I feel compelled to add that I've got a ridiculously high tolerance for spicy food that puts both my dad and my boyfriend to shame.
Currently reading: Tombstone: The Earp Brothers, Doc Holliday, and the Vendetta Ride From Hell, by Tom Clavin. Tombstone was on TV one day and I just so happened to be at the library during that hyperfixation and found this book. Also, Anne Perry and the Murder of the Century by Peter Graham, about the New Zealand Parker/Hulme case, which was the basis for the movie Heavenly Creatures. Between this and my "currently watching," I've clearly been on a bit of a nonfiction/true crime kick without realizing it, until I had to answer this.
What I'm working on: Rain That Tastes Like Wine, the Silverusso monstrosity that's had control of my brain since June. I keep adding and splitting chapters - I thought I could tell this story in sixteen chapters; I'm now up to 21. (What that means for all of you: I originally only had two chapters with smut, now there are seven. One of them is Chapter 5, which I am working on but keep getting distracted by other things, and will be coming soon to an AO3 near you.) I've also got half of a Mike/Jessica one-shot in my WIPs, and a huge concept file for a Lawrusso fic (which may become a series, at the rate that's going).
Currently obsessed with: World of Warcraft Classic: Wrath of the Lich King just dropped yesterday evening and it's absolutely taking me back to those days when this was current content. It was one of my first video games - I was somewhat of a late bloomer when it comes to gaming, despite having grown up with a cousin who owned multiple gaming consoles - and the game where I first became GM of a raiding guild and a raid leader. Still going, after all these years!
Wrath was by far the best WoW xpac. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
--
Passing it on to my last five mutuals in my notes, if you're so inclined and haven't already done this! @pohjanneito @dull-c @scaperanya @arabianflowers @hatethatoneguy

lewdcanons is a secondary blog of @sparsilelove and @aeipathiclove -- all guidelines of my main blog apply here too! this page is for all my (likely canon divergent) adult plots involving canon characters. while i'm usually picky about canons and their portrayal, everything here is a little more chill and entirely #toohornyformain. characters under the cut 🥴
a note on gender: * indicates a genderswapped character. all muses can be played as cis or trans, but please don't use feminisation kink with trans guys in threads with me. i'm trans myself and it makes me super dysphoric, thanks!
for all of the fandoms mentioned, i'll most likely play anyone from that fandom -- just send me a message on main and we'll figure it out.

Five Interesting Nonfiction Books
"The Tale of Kieu: A Bilingual Edition of Nguyen Du's Truyen Kieu" by Nguyen Du
Since its publication in the early nineteenth century, this long narrative poem has stood unchallenged as the supreme masterpiece of Vietnamese literature. Thông’s new and absorbingly readable translation (on pages facing the Vietnamese text) is illuminated by notes that give comparative passages from the Chinese novel on which the poem was based, details on Chinese allusions, and literal translations with background information explaining Vietnamese proverbs and folk sayings.(Amazon)
2. "Where the Ashes Are: The Odyssey of a Vietnamese Family" by Nguyen Qui Duc"
Nguyen, less one of his siblings, an older sister who suffers from mental illness, leaves Viet Nam as a refugee in 1975, while his parents stay behind for different reasons. His father, in particular, as a high ranking South Vietnamese governmental official, subsists in prison for many years. Nguyen’s re-writing of his father’s experiences are interesting in that it obviously would have taken an immense amount of interviewing and temporal reconstruction. Nguyen also relies upon poems that his father had written during his time in prison to help nuance the incredible challenges of his life as a prisoner; his constant movement, the endless monotonous days, and the persistent interrogation remind me much of Xiaoda Xiao’s work on life in prisons during and after China’s Cultural Revolution. His mother tries to remake her life in the post-war regime and maintains a steadfast hope that she will be reunited with her husband.(DVAN)
3. "The Mountains Sing" by Nguyen Phan Que Mai
It’s a sweeping multigenerational story of Tran Dieu Lan and her family’s life from the 1920s to the present. Tran’s family was originally from the North. During the communist land reforms, her family was forced to migrate to Hanoi.(The Bamboo Traveler)
4. "Eating Viet Nam: Dispatches from a Blue Plastic Table" by Graham Holliday
A journalist and blogger takes us on a colorful and spicy gastronomic tour through Viet Nam in this entertaining, offbeat travel memoir, with a foreword by Anthony Bourdain.
Growing up in a small town in northern England, Graham Holliday wasn’t keen on travel. But in his early twenties, a picture of Hanoi sparked a curiosity that propelled him halfway across the globe. Graham didn’t want to be a tourist in an alien land, though; he was determined to live it. An ordinary guy who liked trying interesting food, he moved to the capital city and embarked on a quest to find real Vietnamese food. In Eating Viet Nam, he chronicles his odyssey in this strange, enticing land infused with sublime smells and tastes.(Amazon)
5. "The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien
Lieutenant Jimmy Cross, of the Alpha Company, carries various reminders of his love for Martha, a girl from his college in New Jersey who has given no indication of returning his love. Cross carries her letters in his backpack and her good-luck pebble in his mouth. After a long day’s march, he unwraps her letters and imagines the prospect of her returning his love someday. Martha is an English major who writes letters that quote lines of poetry and never mention the war. Though the letters are signed “Love, Martha” Cross understands that this gesture should not give him false hope. He wonders, uncontrollably, about whether or not Martha is a virgin. He carries her photographs, including one of her playing volleyball, but closer to his heart still are his memories. They went on a single date, to see the movie Bonnie and Clyde. When Cross touched Martha’s knee during the final scene, Martha looked at him and made him pull his hand back. Now, in Vietnam, Cross wishes that he had carried her up the stairs, tied her to the bed, and touched her knee all night long. He is haunted by the cutting knowledge that his affection will most likely never be returned.(Sparknotes)
