Grilled Corn in its Husk
Tumblr media
This Grilled Corn in its Husk both gives it that beautiful smokiness that only a barbie can provide, whilst retaining its moisture, its grains all nicely plump and sweet! Absolutely delicious and a fantastic way to start the week! Happy Monday!
Ingredients (makes 1):
1 beautiful corn ear, unshucked
flavoured butter of your choice, to serve
Prepare barbecue: half an hour before grilling, arrange a layer of coals in the barbecue. Top with a few small branches of dry wood (applewood or fir give a good taste), and light.
Meanwhile, carefully peel of the husk of the corn, without going all the way through. Remove the silks, and re-wrap the corn in its husk tightly.
Place corn ear in a large dish, and cover with water. Place a weight onto it, to keep it submerged. This will prevent it from catching on fire and burning when you grill it! Allow to soak, 20 minutes.
Wait for the flames to die down, and place the corn in its husk on the grill over the red embers. Grill, about 5 minutes on each side, rurning it regularly, about 15 to 20 minutes in total.
Enjoy Grilled Corn in its Husk, slathered with Garden Herb Garlic Butter.

Husk-Grilled Corn with Smoky Lime Butter
Freshly harvested corn comes as this perfect package ready to grill and eat: Just let the corn steam inside its husks. Learn to make Husk-Grilled Corn with Smoky Lime Butter.
Freshly harvested corn comes as this perfect package ready to cook and eat: Peel back the husks until they fan out around the ear’s base, remove the silk, and then fold the husks back up the ear and lay it on a grill, let the corn steam inside its own husks. Any silk you miss burns off with the heat or comes off when you pull away the warm husks, revealing the sweet, lightly charred kernels along…

This is a functional food stand for your sims. They can buy tacos, taco cups, burrito bowls, churros and elotes. Children can't buy churros. Found in Party Section of Buy Mode for 1000 simoleons. If you already have the Burrito Bowl you don't need to put it in the download folder, idem for the Fries Plate (that's the same of the Burger Stand). Churros are available also from the Fridge in the Snack Section (for children too). Truck mesh is from Sims 3 Late Night, Tacos are from ONI, Churros are from Aroundthesims, Elotes are from Sims 4.

Mexican Street Corn (Elote) Recipe
Ingredients:
4 ears of corn, husked
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream or Mexican crema
1/2 cup crumbled cotija cheese (or feta as a substitute)
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 lime, cut into wedges
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)
Instructions:
Grill the Corn:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Place the husked ears of corn directly on the grill grates. Cook, turning occasionally, until the corn is charred and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.
Prepare the Toppings:
While the corn is grilling, mix together the mayonnaise and sour cream (or Mexican crema) in a small bowl.
In another small bowl, combine the chili powder with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Have the crumbled cotija cheese and chopped cilantro ready.
Assemble the Elote:
Once the corn is nicely charred, remove it from the grill.
Brush each ear of corn with melted butter if using.
Generously spread the mayonnaise and sour cream mixture over each ear of corn.
Sprinkle the chili powder mixture over the corn.
Roll the corn in the crumbled cotija cheese until well-coated.
Sprinkle the chopped cilantro over the top.
Serve:
Serve the corn with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.

Grilled Corn Ribs with Honey Butter Total Time: 25 mins Servings: 4
Ingredients
4 ears fresh yellow corn, husked 6 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for grill 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon light brown sugar 1 teaspoon smoked paprika 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper 2 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt, divided 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 2 tablespoons honey Thinly sliced scallions, for garnish
Directions
Preheat grill to high (450°F to 500°F). Cut 1/2 inch off ends of each corn cob; discard trimmed ends. Cut each cob in half crosswise. Working with 1 cob piece at a time, stand cob upright, and carefully cut in half lengthwise. Place cob halves, cut sides down, on cutting board; cut in half lengthwise again to create “ribs.” Repeat with remaining cob pieces. Place corn ribs in an even layer on a large rimmed baking sheet; set aside.
Whisk together oil, black pepper, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and 2 teaspoons salt in a small bowl; brush evenly over corn ribs.
Place corn ribs on oiled grates; grill, covered, turning often, until corn is charred and tender, 4 to 8 minutes. Arrange corn ribs on a serving platter.
Whisk together melted butter, honey, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt in a small bowl. Drizzle butter mixture over corn ribs; garnish with scallions. Serve hot.
