Details on the Coronation Procession
On the morning of the 6th May, Their Majesties will travel from Buckingham Palace in The King’s Procession to Westminster Abbey in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach. Created for Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Her late Majesty’s reign in 2012, the coach has only ever conveyed the Sovereign, occasionally accompanied by the consort or a visiting Head of State.
Tumblr media
The gilded crown on the top of the Diamond Jubilee State Coach was carved from oak from HMS Victory, and the coach’s interior is inlaid with samples of woods, metals and other materials from buildings and places with specific connections to Britain and its history; Royal Residences including Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse; cathedrals including St Paul’s and Westminster Abbey; and historic ships, such as the Mary Rose. The coach will be drawn by six Windsor Greys.
The King’s Procession, accompanied by The Sovereign’s Escort of the Household Cavalry, will depart Buckingham Palace through the Centre Gate, and proceed down The Mall, passing through Admiralty Arch and south of King Charles I Island, down Whitehall and along Parliament Street. The King’s Procession will travel around the east and south sides of Parliament Square to Broad Sanctuary to arrive at the Sanctuary of Westminster Abbey, where the Coronation Service will begin at 11 o’clock.
Tumblr media
The procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, The Coronation Procession, will be much larger in scale, taking the same route in reverse. The Coronation Procession will include Armed Forces from across the Commonwealth and the British Overseas Territories, and all Services of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, alongside The Sovereign’s Bodyguard and Royal Watermen.
Tumblr media
Their Majesties will travel in the Gold State Coach. The coach, last seen during the Pageant of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in June 2022, was commissioned in 1760 and was first used by King George III, to travel to the State Opening of Parliament in 1762. The coach has been used at every Coronation since that of William IV in 1831. The coach will be drawn by eight Windsor Greys and, due to its weight of four tonnes, will travel at walking pace.
Tumblr media
Upon returning to Buckingham Palace following the Coronation Service, Their Majesties will receive a Royal Salute from the United Kingdom and Commonwealth Armed Forces who have been on parade that day. The Royal Salute will be followed by three cheers from the assembled service personnel, as a tribute from the Armed Forces on parade to The King and The Queen Consort on the day of Their Majesties’ Coronation.

As I continue to dance my way through the week...
What's the reason why the "legitimacy" of royal births is important?
Perhaps a history refresher courtesy of Royal Central:
The death of King Charles II in 1685 without any legitimate children meant the throne now passed to his brother, James. In June 1688, the King’s wife, Mary of Modena, bore a healthy son – James Francis Edward – who was now heir to the throne. News of the birth was met with denial – opponents of the King, who were fearful of a Catholic dynasty, began to make known a theory that Mary’s child had in fact been stillborn, and that another baby had been brought into the bedchamber to be announced as the heir to the throne. This theory gathered traction and was one of the reasons used by William of Orange (who was married to the King’s eldest daughter, Mary), to invade England, demanding an investigation into the birth. Mary of Modena and her young son fled to France, where they remained permanently exiled. King James II left England on Christmas Eve, 1688 after which it was declared by Parliament that he had abdicated the throne, and William of Orange and his wife, Mary, were to be to appointed as joint monarchs of England. These events contributed to the ‘Glorious Revolution’, which had a lasting impact on the monarchy. After the birth in 1688, it was decided that all future royal birth regarding heirs to the throne must be witnessed by a number of politicians, so that they could be verified as genuine and the baby as the rightful heir. By the time the future Queen Mary gave birth to her first child, in 1894, her grandmother in law, Queen Victoria, had decided the presence of the Home Secretary was sufficient. The births of both HM The Queen and her sister, Princess Margaret, were attended by the Home Secretary of the time and the last royal birth to be attended by a politician was that of their cousin, Princess Alexandra, in 1936. The practice was later abolished by King George VI as he considered it by then to be unnecessary, meaning that the birth of Prince Charles, in 1948, was the first royal birth to take place without the requirement for a politician to attend.
Hm. It's amazing that in this age of assisted reproductive technologies and surrogates that the British royal family has been able to avoid having politicians returning to the birthing rooms.
So. Far.

Ashley Cooper, News Anchor: Yes Roy, a crowd that has gathered outside of St. Christopher’s Palace is just filled with excitement. You can feel the anticipation in the heir awaiting the Royal Family to appear on the balcony once the investiture has taken place.
Tumblr media
Roy Bachman, News Anchor: Any words on when the royal family will appear?
Tumblr media
Ashley Cooper: Not officially. We have been told the Prince William will delivery a short remark to the nation following the investiture, so crowds are expecting the royals to show themselves on the balcony sometime shortly after.
And the people out here are just thrilled to be witnessing history. William will only become the sixth holder of the title of Crown Prince of Wessex, the last holder of course being his grandfather King William V of Wessex.
Tumblr media
Roy Bachman: Ashley, I am getting word that the ceremony is beginning, we go live now into the Throne Room of St. Christopher’s Palace.

Crown Princess Adira attends Coronation of HM King James II of Dyanminth
Tumblr media
(Above: The official portrait of His Majesty King James II, also known as King James Henry II)
His Majesty, King James of Dyanminth has officially been crowned king today. King James accessed the throne after the death of his mother, who passed away at only 69 years old, 8 months ago. His official coronation was today.
For this exceptional historical event, the Crown Princess of Elthonia attended, but solo, as royal watchers have noticed. Her husband, Prince Edwin accompanied HM Queen Adelane for the wedding of his friend, Jacob Noel to Ryorkshire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crown Princess Adira and now-King James II were close childhood friends and were a couple even in their teen years. (They were even rumoured to be promised to each other for marriage which was denied twice by both St. Williams Palace and Devenburough Palace)
The reason for their break up was sadly, never confirmed. But it is said to be due to them both being Heirs to the throne to their kingdoms.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Above: Crown Princess Adira, representing Elthonia by attending the Coronation. HRH wore a Royal blue dress. Might that be a coincidence or was it a fashion statement? King James' favourite colour is Royal Blue.)
What a wonderful friendship they have <3

HARRY'S NEVERENDING SCHOOLBOY JEALOUSY, TANTRUMS & OTHER THINGS
Tumblr media
We have a title. We have a cover. We have a release date. Does anyone else feel a little bit meh about this? I have to say looking at it, I'm not filled with the desire to rush out and pre-order this "weighty tome" even if its just to read when I need a good laugh or to be put to sleep. Also, who did the photoshopping? I've never seen his eyes so close together or so deeply set. The cover photo is quite unnerving if you look at it for too long.
He's 37 years old and still hung up on the fact he's the 2nd born son. So bloody what? It happens in every royal family. Most just get on with it and enjoy the freedom that comes with not having the weight of being the heir to the throne on their shoulders. Look at Prince Carl Philip of Sweden for example, he was Crown Prince until his father changed the rules of primogeniture and his older sister became heir to the throne, now he's fourth in line and living life to the full with a happy marriage, beautiful wife and lovely children. All that and he and his wife both work hard on behalf of the Swedish monarchy and the charities and programmes etc they support.
I know this isn't exactly the same as being "the spare" to the heir to the throne of the United Kingdom but the point I'm trying to make is by this age, Harry should have outgrown his jealousy and think of the freedoms he's had because he was unlikely to be king one day.
I must admit, I despise the term "heir and spare" I think it should be consigned to history where it belongs. When child mortality rates were high, it made sense for ruling monarchs to want large families to ensure the continuity of the reigning house.
With the advances of medicine, housing, hygiene, etc., infant/child deaths decreased. In my mind, Harry has never been the "spare" to William in the same way that Andrew was never the "spare" to Charles. People are now saying Princess Charlotte is the "spare" to Prince George. No, she isn't. He doesn't need a spare. Certainly not whilst he's 2nd in the line of succession. HM Queen Elizabeth II abolished primogeniture, lets now do away with the archaic notion of the spare.
Anyway, back to the book. What can we expect? Who knows? It's doubtful it will be a love letter to the British Royal Family. It will definitely be a love letter to both his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. I think he will be kind about Catherine, The Princes of Wales but imagine he will try to make her a bit boring. I'm sure he will do his best to paint a picture of William as bossy, stubborn and opinionated, forgetting that following the death of their mother, William went through everything he did whilst also trying to care for and protect his younger brother.
Princess Anne will either not be mentioned or, he will be nice about her and her family, think general family anecdotes, lots of stories about kids, dogs and horses. I dread to think what he will have to say about Andrew and Fergie. He's been close to both Beatrice and Eugenie over the years so again, we either wont read much about them or, there will be the odd vanilla anecdote. Same with the Wessex family, either nothing or some odd, possibly boring story, somewhere along the line.
I'd put money on HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip featuring quite heavily in it. There will be a lot of tugging at the heart strings with granny and grandpa I feel. Especially with the Queen so recently passing.
HM King Charles III and HM Queen Camilla will bear the brunt of the vitriol in the book I'm afraid. Things are of course going to be brought up that happened years ago. Things which have been dredged over, apologised (in church) for, forgiven and moved on from. These things are going to be seen through the eyes of a man stuck between his childhood self and now. Will it cause any damage to the monarchy? Possibly and potentially but, things are always coming along which cause damage to the monarchy and over 1,000 years later, its still here.
Harry's book will sell and probably sell well. It has the novelty factor. People always want to read about famous people, royalty included. Having a book "written" by a member of the British Royal Family themselves is a great selling point. He's also pledged to donate £1.8 million to 2 of his charities.
Tumblr media
This is Cindy Simon Skjodt. She's the Champion for the Power of Women Event taking place in Indianapolis. if you want to blame someone for inviting Meghan Markle to speak at an event, blame Cindy.
I'm sure the "mission" has its heart in the right place, looking on their website, they are very active in the local area and involved in a number of programmes designed to help people in need. I'm just not sure what made them think Meghan was a big draw. Maybe she confused Cindy here with one of her many word salad speeches? Either way, I personally don't feel it is right for Ms Markle to be represented as The Duchess of Sussex if she is being paid for attending the event and giving a speech/taking part in a Q&A. I'd say its more likely than not that she's secured a pay cheque for her appearance and this goes against everything the royal family and certainly HM Queen Elizabeth II stood for. If you're able to email the organisers of the event or even Cindy herself and let them know your feelings about them hiring Ms Markle for this event, maybe some good will come of it.
That's all from me for now folks. I know I've missed lots, I haven't mentioned the Repair Shop. Didn't you just love the camaraderie between Jay Blades and King Charles III? Half-term is over and the children are back at school from Monday so hopefully, we will see the Wales' again. I'm glad Prince William isn't going to Qatar. I know officially he's too busy but, given Qatar's record on human rights etc., I think it sends a strong message.

In the 14th of June was 153 years since the birth of HM Queen Sofia of Hellenes Princess of Prussia
Sophia of Prussia (Sophie Dorothea Ulrike Alice, )(14 June 1870 – 13 January 1932) was Queen of Greece from 1913 to 1917 and from 1920 to 1922 as the wife of King Constantine I.
A member of the House of Hohenzollern and child of Frederick III, German Emperor, Sophia received a liberal and Anglophile education, under the supervision of her mother Victoria, Princess Royal. In 1889, less than a year after the death of her father, she married her third cousin Constantine, heir apparent to the Greek throne. After a difficult period of adaptation in her new country, Sophia gave birth to six children and became involved in the assistance to the poor, following in the footsteps of her mother-in-law, Queen Olga. However, it was during the wars which Greece faced during the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century that Sophia showed the most social activity: she founded field hospitals, oversaw the training of Greek nurses, and treated wounded soldiers.
However, Sophia was hardly rewarded for her actions, even after her grandmother Queen Victoria decorated her with the Royal Red Cross after the Thirty Days' War: the Greeks criticized her links with Germany. Her eldest brother, German Emperor William II, was indeed an ally of the Ottoman Empire and openly opposed the construction of the Megali Idea, which could establish a Greek state that would encompass all ethnic Greek-inhabited areas. During World War I, the blood ties between Sophia and the Emperor also aroused the suspicion of the Triple Entente, which criticized Constantine I for his neutrality in the conflict.
After imposing a blockade of Greece and supporting the rebel government of Eleftherios Venizelos, causing the National Schism, France and its allies deposed Constantine in June 1917. Sophia and her family then went into exile in Switzerland. Sophia's second son, Alexander, replaced his father on the throne. At the same time, Greece entered the war alongside the Triple Entente, which allowed it to grow considerably. After the outbreak of the Greco-Turkish War in 1919 and the untimely death of Alexander the following year, the Venizelists abandoned power, allowing the royal family to return to Athens. However, the defeat of the Greek army against the Turkish troops of Mustafa Kemal forced Constantine to abdicate in 1922, at which point his eldest son became King George II. Sophia and her family were then forced to a new exile, and settled in Italy, where Constantine died one year later, in 1923. With the proclamation of the Republic in Athens the following year, Sophia spent her last years alongside her family, before dying of cancer in Germany in 1932 at the age of 61.
Sophia's body was transferred to the castle of Friedrichshof, where she rested a few days before being sent to the Russian Church in Florence, where she was buried alongside her husband and mother-in-law. They stayed there for four years until the restoration of George II on the Greek throne in 1935.
After his restoration on the Greek throne, George II organized the repatriation of the remains of members of his family who died in exile. An important religious ceremony that brought together, for six days in November 1936, all members of the royal family still alive. Sophia's body was buried at the royal burial ground at Tatoi Palace, where she still rests today

The new monarch is known for speaking his mind and interfering in political matters. He is renowned for his compassion and charitable endeavours as well. Find out more about the next monarch of Britain here.
After Queen Elizabeth II's death on September 8, 2022, her eldest son Charles III took over as monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. For this position, Charles III had devoted almost his whole 73-year existence. A few days after the Queen passed away, he was crowned king. The date of his coronation is anticipated to be in 2023.
Charles is now in charge of the Commonwealth nations, which include Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, in addition to the United Kingdom. Along with leading the military, judiciary, and Church of England, he also assumes leadership.
The new Queen Consort, King Charles, was formerly wed to the late Princess Diana and is now married to Camilla Parker Bowles. Prince Harry and Princess William were the couple's two children.
Charles is credited with a number of firsts and is the oldest monarch to ever ascend to the British throne. He was the first heir to attend school, the first to earn a degree from a university, and the first to experience extensive media attention as a result of his contentious marriage and divorce from Princess Diana. He stands for the modernization of the British monarchy.
Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth II welcomed Prince Charles Philip Arthur George into the world at Buckingham Palace on November 14, 1948. He was the couple's firstborn. Upon his mother's accession to the throne in 1952, the three-year-old was named the Duke of Cornwall. At the age of 20, Charles was crowned Prince of Wales.
The Prince acknowledged that at Gordonstoun, a Scottish boarding school renowned for character building via outdoor sports, he frequently encountered bullying from his peers. Charles was the first member of the British Royal Family to get a college degree in 1970 while studying history at Cambridge University's renowned Trinity College.
He served in the military for more than seven years after receiving his degree. He first obtained his pilot's licence in the Royal Air Force before transferring to the Royal Navy, where he honed his helicopter piloting skills. He left his position as the HMS Bronington's captain in 1976.
In 1981, Charles wed Diana. Due of his romance with Camilla and the couple's adulterous relationships, the marriage didn't endure very long. Diana passed away in an automobile accident a year after they divorced, in 1996, after they had separated in 1992.
The turbulent relationship between Charles and Diana was often in the news. His acrimonious divorce alienated the British people. The incident led many individuals to doubt his suitability for the monarchy.
Forgiving the future king for cheating on his wife and "the people's princess," as Diana was affectionately known, took the British people more than ten years. After his 2005 marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles, there was finally a change in the perception of him in the public.
