Hhhrhrrmmg soooo I've been kinda rediscovering and figuring out my relationship with gender even more as of late, as you guys may have seen me posting about, and tbh.... I think I've just come out the other side as Nonbinary+ 😂
So! This probably isn't the FINAL verdict, since all of us are (or at least should be) in a constant state of rediscovering and reinventing ourself, but I think my identity right now is GNC nonbinary, I prefer they/them but I'm still using any pronouns (including it/its). Please don't refer to me as a girl or a guy, I'm just a person! I'm just Ruby :3

#what if you felt unbearable guilt because your brother went missing in the two seconds you were separated#and you feel like there mustve been Something you couldve done to prevent it#if only you had stuck together. if only you hadnt let him tag along on your basically-a-suicide-mission in the first place#but none of those things happened so you go through three years blaming yourself#continuing to search for him because maybe hes still out there. and maybe exhausting yourself on an aimless search is a way you can atone#and then you're pulled into this big destiny adventure so your searching is put on the back burner#you're so busy doing important things and meeting new friends and there are points in your adventure where your heart feels lighter#and maybe you open up just a little about the crushing guilt you feel. and your new friends say it wasnt your fault#maybe you start accepting that your brother is really gone but you have to keep living your life#saving your brother was a far out dream but saving the world is something you have the power to do#so you try your best. so you dont fuck up this time#your guilt becomes the fuel keeping you going#and then at the end of your journey#you find out one of the biggest obstacles on your journey#the human chimera that you felt kinda horrified at and a little bad for even as you fought them#is your brother you've been mourning and agonizing over not being able to save#so um. The Guilt is even worse now#now he doesnt just feel responsible for his death. he Now feels responsible for him becoming this Creature Thing under porkys control#and in a lucas dies scenario. hoogh i cant imagine how claus would feel after that.......#however the thing that spurred this post was thinking about the lucas lives postgame scenario (it just got a bit out of hand lol) so.#your brother is alive and back home again and youre so unbelievably glad#but the guilt still creeps up every time you see how much hes Changed. physically and mentally#you had just started to accept the fact youd have to live without your brother but somehow having him back is almost just as painful#things cant just go back to how they were before. youll never be the exact same happy family as you used to be#its strange adjusting to having lucas back and its strange trying not to step on each others toes with their trauma#you cant help but be clingy because you couldnt bear it if he disappeared again under your watch#but nobody wants to be watched all the time especially when youre recovering from your brainwashed identity as an army commander#FUCK I REACHED THE TAG LIMIT I WANTED TO RAMBLE MORE AUGH. #personal#the sooner i can move back to the pnw the better#didn't think i would miss the rain but i was wrong#and i *desperately* miss the comfortable temps#97° in may. i'm almost offended#to be clear: deserts are a beautiful complex and thriving ecosystem with their own unique beauty and charms#however i am a coastal forest creature who's lived in a temperate rainforest for most of my life and i was not meant for this climate#i miss trees :(#i miss summer being a month or two long instead of 3/4 of the year#fingers crossed we can renew our lease for 6 months rather than a full year so we can move back in march instead of next august

not a single one of rakiel's summons is fluffy which is a crime because what if i want to draw him cuddling with them. how is he going to hug a fish on fire. he can't even grab ggoseum without prickling himself. the only mildly huggable one is the little elephant and i cannot for the life of me remember their name. the other options are a baby larva and a baby bone dragon. WHY GIVE THIS MAN SO MANY CUTE ANIMALS AND NOT MAKE EVEN A SINGLE ONE OF THEM CUDDLY.

Realism is fun till it isn’t and I realize I’ve already committed too far and can’t just scrap it but I know it will take me too long so here are some sacrifices you may see finished later on
#dragon#myart#creature#I still generally have inspiration for the first one so that one will probably get finished first#I really like watching the speedpaints procreate automatically records even though it’s crunchy and has a weird green tint#specifically on realism because it’s wild for anything else and is actually psychotic#Mostly because I just suddenly start experimenting with brushes and start turning layers off and on for a good chunk of it#I use 3 layers usually for realism#One for the actual drawing one for the sketch and one for a base color#It makes it better I think because it’s more similar to actual painting or something#That might not be the reason I dont really know#It’s just better I do it that way#Maybe because I can’t get distracted and lost?#Realism is also a great source of learning for me#Even if i never really finish stuff like this#I might this time though who knows#Sorry for leaving you guys stranded I’m chasing a really big train across the country#My priorities are with locomotives#“You guys” (I say to my very few followers 🤑🤑 (that probably followed me in the first place for dragon adventures stuff))#I do what I want and what I want is not dragon adventures right now#Right now I want locomotive#I’m not hijacking that train it sounds like I’m going to hijack that train#however#i would appreciate owning a big train I feel like I would enjoy that#Side note how do my DA followers feel about the genetic traits in the event eggs making motorouk w/ the error trait worth like 100mil#I feel ill when I can recite all of the full species names from memory#It does make sense though I’ve been playing since the first event in 2019#I’m committed what can I say#Almost forgot a tag oops#art

Design; 9/10 - stub legs!! he's doing a little dance!!! He reminds me of lechonk from pokemon but that might just be me idk. One of my favorite character design tropes is "little guy hides under disguise"!! Also I love the hats scary face!
Purpose/Effectiveness; 8/10 okay i still dont know anything about dragonquest but i did a lot more research this time!! The wiki said that it was a monster with a low-level attack, making me think that it's probably one of the first you encounter in the game. Honestly this is really good low-level enemy design! It isnt that scary or imposing, but still enough to let the player know it is gonna attack you. Also wizard hat + using magic! We stan magic boars here!! From what the wiki also said it looks like it has other varients?? So as you go into more dangerous places you encounter more dangerous hatwitches?? That is actually really cool if it's true
Overall; 9/10 - this little piggy cursed your entire bloodline

i spent my first time playing this game with no idea that you could remove the bloodless debuff using Lesser Restoration and so Tilly spent like fully an entire third of her run going through all of that combat and exploration and cult destroying while mildly anaemic. my friends only told me about this yesterday and we all had a good laugh at my expense but we also decided that this is probably what was happening. and honestly. in any case it is a PAINFULLY in character Tilly thing for her not to be aware of this so I'm adding it to my beloved gallery of Tilly Tosscobble 10 INT Moments. not pictured: Gale frantically adding iron-rich foods to the evening meal every night

If your average MTG game does not include a twenty minute intermission where your (step)father and sister pull out google and debate a really weird technicality, then you're probably playing it wrong
#ok SO#i still don't fully understand the conclusion we came to but here's how i think it went#we played 2v2. me and sister against dad and aunt#each team takes their turn simultaneously. see MTG two headed giant format#Sister plays Kutzil‚ Malamet Exemplar#3/3 legendary cat creature#it has the following written on the card: 'Your opponents can't cast spells during your turn'.#However#stepdad had an instant he wanted to counter her casting it with#we said 'but you countering it is casting a spell AFTER it has entered the battlefield. you can't cast spells on her turn'#and he was like 'actually no because there's stack priority order within turns and it prioritizes instants'#'and technically that ability has not activated yet as this is not resolved'#hence a twenty minute argument. I made some coffee and got a muffin lmao.#i still lowkey think he might have been wrong but i was not about to get involved /lh#this was a five hour game#as they tend to be#just standard 40 card decks we built from prerelease packs#i usually go vampire deck. plains/swamp w/ elenda as my commander#thank GOD this wasn't commander lmao we'd still be playing it#but this was standard and i went for red/green loosely dinosaur deck#we got the lost caverns of ixalan set#opened packs. had an hour to build a deck. played it#idk i fucking love mtg#i know it's such a nerd thing but idc i'm on pokemon tumblr in 2023. what do you want from me.
