The Left and the Right are two ideologies that recognise the importance of having elites. For the Right, some people are considered to have fewer rights than others: women, black people, workers, etc. The elite is composed of Oxbridge. The people have to sacrifice on their housing, health and education to give to the elites. The Right take advice from the richest. For the Left, elites are appreciated but the people are not asked to sacrifice for the elites. The elites are there to inform the people and help them to do better.

For the Right, everyone has to support their leader and repeat their ideas. That’s Rishi Sunak’s or Nigel Farage’s programme. For the Left, a plurality of opinions and strong debate are expressed.

Poverty in the UK has escalated since 2011 to reach 19% of the population. The cost of leaving has increased exponentially up to 12% per year. Energy has increased by 19% since 2022, rent 69% and food 40%.

Meanwhile, since 2017, tax havens have increased (to avoid paying tax). The UK rich people are getting richer. The top 10 billionaires in the UK are three times richer than 15 years ago. With the Tories in power during Brexit, work standards have been lowered (security, social and environmental measures) to the profit of the owners who became even richer. The Tories signed free trade agreements with developing countries with low security social an environmental standards creating an unfair competition with the UK workers. The British producers can hardly sell in those countries. Those free trades only benefit the owners of the factory there.

The neo-liberals and the identitarians point to the bad guys; they target the foreigners, the “lazy” or the misfits. They give priority to the ultra-rich, who have more rights than others.

A very strong and very democratic state is needed to protect the workers against unfair competition from badly-treated foreigners and against the social and environmental dumping of foreign products. The people need to be richer so that they can buy quality goods and have quality public services (health, pensions, education, etc.). This wealth has been captured by the ultra-rich, not by immigrants or ‘idlers’. Britain is rich but inequalities are high.

Believing that the solution to the problem is to attack the poor, the disabled, the people of colour, etc. by treating them badly (inadequate pay, fewer rights) hurts the whole system: old diseases like cholera re-emerge, poorer working conditions are accepted, and so on.

Many people are angry and worried about their livelihoods, their health, their children’s education and so on. Providing public services for everyone everywhere will be very expensive. Neoliberals are asking the poor to have less (by cutting pensions and public services) because they think they don’t deserve enough. The identitarian right-wing is calling for the poor to be made to pay. The right is diverting people’s anger away from the bourgeoisie. The Left is calling for the ultra-rich to pay the price of these reforms, but they will still be very rich. To restore prosperity to the people, taxing capital and controlling prices is the way to go.

Even then, the laws passed by the House of Commons must not be blocked by the House of Lords, which is not elected by the people and is not a power check serving the people.

It’s a shame that the Brits don’t have the right to a referendum on popular initiative and that the only way to express themselves is by electing representatives!

Thought for the Day

Honest work will always be rewarded, while those who scheme to get wealth will not go unpunished. Gambling is one of the oldest addictions in the world. Like alcoholism and drug addiction, compulsive gambling drains national and personal economies. Families are the ones who suffer the most. Many people feel gambling is an enjoyable pastime, and even some Christians support lotteries, horse racing, and casinos. Video poker has become so popular it is referred to as "the crack cocaine" of gambling. However, Scripture is clear that it is a snare that can lead to poverty. It is the ultimate get-rich-quick scheme, and Christians should pay attention to the Biblical instruction regarding it.

Anyone attempting to gain money at someone else's certain loss is not practicing Christian principles. A casino preys on the weakness of people. Gambling is contrary to the principles of working, saving, and giving. Gamblers ignore discipline and accountability for their spending. To many, gambling is a scheme to escape work. Some do not realize the gravity of their sin, justifying it because their present income does not meet their needs. God desires these persons to look to Him to meet their needs. He will give a plan for becoming debt-free if they seek Him and search out His economic principles in the Bible. The Lord can bring deliverance to those caught in the web of compulsive gambling. He will break the bondage of all who call upon Him.

Doing an honest day's work is the way to earn a living. Faithfulness to a job brings its reward. God's blessing upon honest labor goes beyond any paycheck. No man can buy peace of mind, health, protection, or joy in the Holy Spirit.

"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and we can certainly carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness" (1 Timothy 6:6-11).

Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your many blessings and help me to be content with Your daily provision in my life. Deliver me from all worry and anxiety. 8 THEREFORE He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.” 11 AND He Himself gave some to be APOSTLES, some PROPHET'S, some EVANGELISTS, and some PASTORS and TEACHERS, 12 FOR the EQUIPPING of the SAINTS for the work of ministry, for the EDIFYING of the BODY OF CHRIST, 13 TILL we all come to the UNITY of the FAITH and of the KNOWLEDGE of the SON OF GOD, TO a PERFECT [mature] MAN, TO the MEASURE of the STATURE of the FULLNESS OF CHRIST; 14 THAT we should NO LONGER be CHILDREN, TOSSED to and fro and CARRIED about with every WIND of DOCTRINE, BY the TRICKERY of MEN, in the CUNNING CRAFTINESS OF DECEITFUL PLOTTING, 15 BUT, SPEAKING the TRUTH in LOVE, may GROW up in all THINGS into HIM who is the HEAD—CHRIST." III. Manhood or Adulthood stage: 24 BY FAITH MOSES, WHEN HE BECAME OF AGE, REFUSED to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 CHOOSING RATHER TO SUFFER AFFLICTION WITH THE PEOPLE OF GOD THAN TO ENJOY THE PASSING PLEASURES OF SIN, 26 ESTEEMING THE REPROACH OF CHRIST GREATER RICHES THAN THE TREASURES IN EGYPT; FOR HE LOOKED TO THE REWARD" (Hebrews 11:24-26 NKJV).

As it was earlier said, spiritual growth is similar to physical growth, Thus, you have to grow with Time, there is no automatic Growth.

This is the spiritual level, the Spiritually mature level that every professed believer ought to reach.

A level which every believer, who aspires to lead or those who are already at the leadership, should attain or reach (2 Timothy 2:20,21).

Characteristics of the Adulthood stage.

Considering or regarding the earthly things lightly: "HE CONSIDERED THE REPROACH OF THE CHRIST [that is, the rebuke he would suffer for his faithful obedience to God] TO BE GREATER WEALTH THAN ALL THE TREASURES OF EGYPT; FOR HE LOOKED AHEAD TO THE REWARD [promised by God]" (Hebrews 11:26 Amps).

A believer who wants to grow spiritually would not put earthly things above spiritual things (Colossians 3:1,2).

God wants to prosper His children. He wants the good and of course the best of the land for them (Isaiah 1:19). However, He does not want us to put those things First. They should not be the main reason why we seek Him (Matthew 6:33).

Some believers are more interested in making money than to serve God and grow in their relationships with Him (Matthew 13:22; Mark 4:19). It is not wrong to have money, but it is wrong for money to be your master or ruler (Luke 16:13).

God does want you to prosper, in every area of your life (3 John 2): a. Material or financial prosperity is God's Will (Psalm 1:1-3; 2 Corinthians 8:9); b. Physical prosperity or healthiness, that is, living in health (Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24); c. Spiritual prosperity, or maturity in Christ, or having a Christlike character (Ephesians 4:13).

Believers should evaluate things the way they should be evaluated. They should consider or reckon the earthly things lightly. You, as a person, should get your priorities right or put the first things first.

You consider the security of your spiritual life before you take a Job, or move to another part of the country, or move out of the country to another nation. Money is not Everything in life. You can be making money and have no good Health.

Be determined in your heart to put the spiritual things first. That is, you consider the influence of whatever you wanted to do on your spiritual life; whether it would be positive or negative—would It help or lead to your spiritual growth or declines?

Teach your children how to put God first, leading them by EXAMPLES, through the way you live your life, and the decisions you make before them.

Give your Tithes and Offerings before you consider spending on other things.

Deadness to censures; unfavorable criticism and praise.

A mature believer should be Dead to negative comments of people, or their praises.

An immature believer might feel slighted, If they were criticized, or If they imagined in their hearts they were.

They could become restlessly, unease, and full of self pitying. Whereas or the other hand, if they were noticed and appreciated, they feel lifted up and full of self importance.

Those who are babies, immature in the Lord, are always self consciously and are ever conscious of what others are thinking about them!

Whilst the mature believers are God consciously, and ever conscious of what God's Word says about them and to them.

Babies are tossed to and fro, childishly trying to be made known or popular (Ephesians 4:14).

A mature believer would not be touchy, fretful, or resentful, on little or no matter. Such a believer takes no account of evil done to him or her, and pay no attention to suffered wrong (1 Corinthians 13:5).

Another characteristic of the Adulthood stage is the ability to recognize God at work in every circumstance or situation of life: "AND WE KNOW THAT ALL THAT HAPPENS TO US IS WORKING FOR OUR GOOD IF WE LOVE GOD AND ARE FITTING INTO HIS PLANS" (Romans 8:28 the Living Bible).

Joseph is one of the best Scriptural examples of this characteristic. Joseph did not retaliate at the end. He did not get against his brothers, when he became a ruler and had the opportunity to avenge (Genesis 45:4-8; 50:15-21).

You will not fail in Jesus' name.

Whatever God has not planted in your body is rebuked and uprooted completely in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Today marks the end of whatever ailment working against your health and wellness and will never see them again in Jesus' name. Peace! TO BE CONTINUED

Take notice of this: IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15). a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20). b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10). c. Ask that He will write your name in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).

Count The Cost

Whoever does not carry his own cross and follow after me cannot be my disciple

Luke 14:27 AMP

Now I might receive some backlash from you dear reader, but first consider everything I am about to say. (I do not intend to cause you any offense). But many of you might indeed feel a little scared or perhaps angry after reading this, but again hear me out, I desire nothing more than for you to be saved and have full assurance of that.

Requirements of a Believer

So in Luke 14, we see that a large crowd was following Jesus, but what did our Lord do? He wanted them to know what would be required of them if they wanted to follow him, perhaps many followed for a miracle show (they probably wanted to see a miracle), perhaps many followed for physical healing, or perhaps many just went along because others were too. So in this chapter we see that Jesus turns and addresses the crowd and gives them conditions for following him. In our world we have many professing Christian who profess the name of Christ and yet have absolutely no relationship with him whatsoever (perhaps if even you are being sincere, you will admit you have no relationship with him), many follow because they believe he will give them good health, cars, money, and husband, etc. But Jesus turns and addresses them(and us) and lays out the real conditions. You know, a resounding theme in his conditions in my opinion is total commitment, and no I dont mean with lip service but I mean total undiluted commitment, we will look into each condition next. (But first, if you do not know what a believer is, I addressed that yesterday, so you might want to read that first).

First Condition

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:26 KJV

This is not a call to bitterness or enmity against one’s own relations, but instead comparing your relationship with Christ to your relationships it should appear as though you hate them. Let me illustrate this, “Assume that you are being asked by your mother to tell a lie in order to win a position or gain favor with your local authorities, common knowledge tells us that if we don’t want to make our mother displeased (both with us, or in general), we should obey8, btu instaed if we “hate” them we must object and cite our relationship with Christ as a greater priority than our physical relations. We should not be ashamed to share our faith with them in all our ways, because we love Christ above them all.

 So I ask—

Are you really a Christian?

Second Condition

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:27

In the introduction, I briefly implied that some follow Jesus for wrong reasons (cars, money, good health). As a matter of fact the prosperity gospel (health and wealth gospel) has been extremely pervasive and has taken over so many folks, and generated millions of false converts. These folks are promised heaven on earth if they are willing to pay for it and as a result give away their last cedis to buy it. Anyway, I am  going off on a tangent here, that’s not my message (it should be obvious I have tons of things to say about this and perhaps, I will address this in one of my articles, if the lord wills it), I will however say that the Lord doesn’t promise you material wealth on this earth if you believe in Christ and that what he promises is death ( read Hebrews 9: 27 or read my notes at the end), he also promises eternal life to all who repent and place their trust in the son Christ. Jesus says we must be willing to bear our cross and come after him. Now in carrying our cross, we must express a willingness to endure whatever may come our way for following him, even if following him will cost us scholarships, jobs, relationships, struggles distress or even death. We must follow, come rain or shine and we must be willing to stay true to our faith regardless of the severity of the opposition that comes our way as a result.

Now at this point if you are beginning to question your faith, know that even I did, just yesterday morning, but I didn’t pick up the computer and begin typing to terrify you, but instaed I did this to warn and even perhaps encourage you to begin taking your faith ,more seriously, however if belong to the horrendous prosperity movement (which I am guessing you are), you should indeed be a little disturbed and might I say even a little scared, because the image of Christ that exists in your mind is merely an idol, a shadow of our carnal desires and not at all the God of the bible, instaed it is merely one in your mind created by our worldly desires and “molded by endless teaching of ‘pastors’ and ‘ministers’ who are parading the bride of Christ (the church) in a garment she was not made to wear” (that quote was made by Paul Washer(a real pastor)). In short, this was not meant as an attack but merely as a heart check.

So again I ask—

Are you really a Christian?

The rationale Jesus Gives

28  For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29  Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30  Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31  Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32  Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. 33  So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. 34  Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? 35  It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

This is Jesus Christ asking you to count the cost of following him., can you bear it?

You say, well how much will it cost me?   Everything! It will cost you your life. Now I must say this for a lot of us, our actual lives mat not be in danger (some indeed are!), but it will certainly cost you, it might cost you relations, money, your assumed dignity, job opportunities, but it will certainly cost you dearly. So my dear one, Jesus says to you and I, we must first count the cost, he sites two examples, in the first example, he says which of you who intends to build a tower, will not first count the cost, because if you don’t, then you might not finish and will be mocked (in this case, I would say, you faith failed), and in the second he sites an even bigger example which has to do with a king settling for peace since he knows he cannot win the war. All this is to us, we must count the cost of following him.

13  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. {a bushel: the word in the original signifieth a measure containing about a pint less than a peck} 16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Christian, wherever you go you are to shine and be the salt of the world, you must shine forth (not by material wealth) by being the light and salt. This means you don’t do the things of darkness. Instead you abstain from sins so ungodly I simply will not mention them here. This is so that men may see you and glorify the father (I will confess to you that I don’t do this so well myself, but I pray that the lord may have mercy and strengthen me).

In Conclusion  

If you make the decision( sincerely, not with one leg in and the other out), I believe he will fill us with his holy spirit and strengthen us, because our Lord is a sympathetic high priest who sits at the right hand of the father and is interceding for believers. So let’s be fully committed to him, because in only him and nowhere else is found salvation both from our sins and the righteous wrath of God to come. Lets commit to him because in him alone is found everlasting life!

If you are not saved, cry out to him in all truth and sincerity, repent, and trust in Christ alone and his work, and you be saved for he says, “all that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”   John 6:37

And if you think you are, then once again I ask you –

Are you really a Christian?

Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living

Devotional Scripture:

Proverbs 23:4-5 (KJV): 4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. 5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. Proverbs 23:4-5 (AMP): 4 Weary not yourself to be rich; cease from this your own [human] wisdom. 5 Will you set your eyes upon wealth, when (suddenly) it is gone? For riches certainly make themselves wings, like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.

Thought for the Day

Verse 4 - There is nothing wrong with having material wealth, but it should not be our primary focus. Our goal should be to know God personally; becoming like Jesus and growing in His wisdom. God promises to liberally give us wisdom when we ask for it in faith (James 1:5-8). Man's wisdom says to obtain wealth for ourselves; God's wisdom instructs us to rely on Him for our needs. We are never told to seek wealth or the "American dream."

When we serve God, He promises to meet our every need. "Therefore, take no thought, saying, what shall we eat? or, what shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:31-33). God loves to bless us but He is not pleased with greed. "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts" (James 4:3). Jesus taught us to make our needs known to the Father. "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:23-24). Should our need be money or material things, He will provide for us if we humbly seek Him in faith.

Verse 5 - Financial wealth is uncertain and temporal. We can have it one day and the next day lose it all. However sizable the bank account, funds shrink as rapidly as a flying eagle shrinks from view. Men who look to money for security will find that it will fail them. Riches are deceitful (Mark 4:19), giving a false sense of security and importance that can cause us to miss eternal life (Luke 12:15-16). Many are robbed when their companies go bankrupt, and their long-term jobs and pensions disappear. Some lose everything in natural disasters for which there is no insurance coverage. Others face failed business ventures, down-sizing, stock market losses, or costly treatments for long-term health problems that devour their savings. Some people have everything stolen from them. People everywhere are facing financial challenges.

The Bible has the answer to these and all problems facing mankind, which is putting our trust in Christ and following God's plan for our individual lives. God does not promise that we will not face difficulties, but rather that we can be more than conquerors in all of them, through Christ. "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). The only sure investments in life are spiritual. Those investing in God's kingdom are accumulating treasures for eternity (Matthew 6:19-21).

Prayer Devotional for the Day

Dear heavenly Father, first of all, I want to thank you for Your provision for all of my needs. You have never failed to take care of me. I am grateful. Lord, deliver me from all fear and insecurity about the future. I know you will never fail me and will continue to meet all of my needs. Lord, I want to be like Jesus. Do the work in my heart to set me free from looking to the provision that comes from this world. I know my true source of supply comes through Your hand. Give me the grace to not look to men for the security I need. You are my security and I set my eyes upon You, Lord. I ask this in the name of Jesus, my Provider. Amen. From: Steven P. MESSAGE: SCRIPTURE: Cry yet again, saying, Thus says the Lord of hosts: My cities shall yet again overflow with prosperity, and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion and shall yet choose Jerusalem. Zechariah 1:17 (AMP) THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To have riches without wisdom is to be a fool. Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2023 Our anchor Scripture reveals that the prosperity of God’s people is key to the overflow of God’s Kingdom on earth. Therefore, to be rich is to propagate the Kingdom of God on earth, and to be poor is to limit the expansion of God’s Kingdom on earth. That is why it is important to desire to be rich for the sake of the Kingdom. Now, wealth is not a matter of what is outside you; it is what you have inside you. Let me give you an example: A street fighter, called Mike Tyson, who became a heavy weight boxing champion, got heavy weight money. He had more than one hundred suits, and more than one hundred cars. Anytime he went out, he would pick a particular colour of suit that would match the colour of the car. But you know, he could not sustain his wealth. When he lost the title, he also lost everything and crashed down to zero. This was because all the things that entered his life didn’t make him rich. So, wealth is not a matter of what you have on your outside; it is what you have inside you. This is why we have notable gamblers who end up being poor. A gambler may win a million pounds because of gambling but after sometime, he crashes to zero. One reason why children of most rich people cannot sustain their father’s wealth is because their fathers gave them prosperity without mentality. And to have riches without wisdom is to be a fool. The man with the right mentality may not have a penny now but just give him a little time; he would arrive at massive prosperity. Beloved, make up your mind to go for wisdom first, in your pursuit of wealth. Remember this: To have riches without wisdom is to be a fool.
