#How to Choose the Ideal Web Development

I think I've never detailed your website until now, it is incredibly organized! As an artist who knows only the basics of programming and creating webpages, but is very interested in having one, may I ask, what site hosting do you use? or which one do you recommend? i don't really know anything about that. I would love to see the resurgence of the personal website/ blog.

Thank you!! My website and the infrastructure I've built surrounding it is my pride and joy! More and more lately I've come to appreciate the security it's given during these trying internet times.

I use Wordpress and a drag-and-drop builder called Live Composer (I wouldn't recommend it over its competitor, only because Live Composer has very bad documentation). My hosting is SiteGround. All those tools are stuff I adopted 10 years ago, since I started The World in Deeper Inspection. This way of using Wordpress - being accessible but labyrinthe and too-much - suits me, probably because my personality is like this too.

But a lot of people want something simpler. I'd recommend pursuing resources from MelonLand, The Cheapskate's Guide and Sadgrl to get started. They are more for static site generation, of the neocities type. And in their simplicity, they offer you more control compared to my set-up. They are also part of a movement called the Indie Web or Retro Web, which I consider myself a part of mentally and spiritually, if not fully. These are folks who are bringing back blogs, webrings, web surfing, and all the ways that made the internet fun and fresh back then.

If my website seems super organised, it's less about the tools used and more due to the thinking I have developed for it - coming up with an approach of how I want to be presented online, imagining my ideal site experience and implementing it, as well as solving the problem of having both a Professional Site + a Casual Personal Online Home under the same URL. Here's a blog post I made recently about A Personal Website VS A Portfolio, and an older post, Site Revamp + Artist Sites Should Be More Fun Maybe?, that describes my website/internet philosophies. From those two, the main point to take away is that establishing the landing page as a signpost that allows the visitor to choose their destination solved basically my problem of profesional/personal separation.

TLDR I have a lot of thoughts about making artist websites and returning to the independent web!! This has been a 3 years journey for me!!!

💛 A post about Miko x Byakuren 💜

Featuring my headcanons and highly biased observations. Please correct me if I got anything from canon wrong.

My interest in Touhou resurfaced recently alongside my attempts at learning various eastern religions and philosophies. Guess which characters perfectly aligned with my interests and are also The Perfect Foils (a narrative device I love)? Yeah...

And just look at these two! Sharing many of the same colors but in different parts of their design 💛 💜 Even the way they pose and hold their respective signature items are complimentary!!

And just to get this out of the way: I know I use the term ship but I don't want them to kiss ever. Or anything else conventionally or unconventionally romantic. There's no label for the type of relationship I imagine them having but just know that, for better or worse, they are each other's one and only.

💛 💜 Yin-yang Yurism: A mostly serious analysis

What drew me initially (that I still love) is their The Pragmatic Asshole vs. The Idealistic Nice One dynamic. I love how much they highlight each other's strengths and weaknesses in equal measure, as foils do. But the more I look into the them, the more contrasts I find??? It's a gift that keeps on giving.

Of course, we also have the human-advocate vs. youkai-advocate thing. But then there's how the two advocate for their respective sides.

Miko, despite her many appearances showing her meddling with human affairs and claiming she could lead them to a bright future, she never goes very far. And it's because she's very aware of the balance in Gensokyo and chooses to accept it (for now), even if it's kind of fucked up from a human's perspective.

Byakuren, on the other hand, is actively protecting, caring for, and teaching youkai her beliefs. I don't think she's unaware of Gensokyo's balance but I do think that she aspires to fight fate for the sake of her values rather than accept it like Miko.

This also goes back to the whole pragmatism vs. idealism thing that I previously mentioned.

I could go on but let's save those for future posts. Also I'm still far from done consuming their content...

💛 💜 The yin-yang gets worse: A headcanon

Relatively serious analysis over. I had this idea that not only are they opposites that balance each other out in a meta-analysis sense, but an in-universe one too. Listen listen.

Miko could pose a danger to Gensokyo's balance if she chooses to lead the humans. And Byakuren teaching youkai not to bother people would readily pose a danger to the balance if the youkai actually listened...

Their human and youkai advocacy therefore need to be kept in check. So what if they just checked each other? But like...it's enforced in-universe and isn't just narrative device.

Kanako (she is a very integral part of the ship) just looks at these two and goes like "I have an idea" with a wry smile. And so, every time one of them gets the idea to Do Something, somehow the other person will be alerted in a way that pushes them to interfere. Surely they won't wise up to it! And even if they do, what are they gonna do it about it? Not try to stop their biggest rival from making their respective side too powerful? It's perfect.

Engineered soulmates of philosophical rilvary for the sake of the world. That's my Miko x Byakuren 💛 💜

I don't yet have a concrete idea of how to develop them but they will absolutely be an inextricable part of each other's eternal lives to degrees of which no one else can compare.

Love the idea that at some point they both wise up to the fact that fate has strung them together and oh do they try and struggle to get out of it like prey bugs in a spider web.

Tang Lici

Lin Conghe writes about Lotus World, where Tang Lici is from.

He tells us that Tang Lici is not from Shenzhou, and therefore is not human. Tang Lici comes to Shenzhou to experience human emotions and learn how to be human.

Zhou Di Tower

This setting has a greater significance in the drama. In the novel, it is simply a tower where Fang Zhou earns money, while in Shui Long Yin, Lin Conghe writes about a sect that has existed for over a thousand years.

And as for my favorite characters, choosing them is so hard. I limited myself to one character per media (I usually like media for the characters, and that means that, if allowed, I would just name all One Piece or Nirvana in Fire characters and be done with it). So here they are, in no particular order:

Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece) — I love how completely self-assured he is. Monkey D. Luffy knows who he is, knows what he wants, and does not hesitate to go for it. His confidence is astounding, and his adamant faith in himself and his crew is inspiring.

Consort Jing (Nirvana in Fire) — A living embodiment of the sayings 'still waters run deep' and 'silk hiding steel'. At first sight, she seems a quiet and submissive character, but the more you watch, the more you realize she is always the smartest person in the room. Calm and placid, but also resolute and clever, she is ready to do whatever she needs to get the results he wants.

Attolia Irene (Queen's Thief) — I love her character development and the way it never actually judges her for her cold and ruthless nature. She did what she had to, to ensure her own survival and the survival of her country, but it was done at the cost of her own humanity. The way she slowly learns what having friends and family means without ever being condemned for her ruthlessness and pragmatism is so great.

Sam Vimes (Discworld) — The first time we meet him, he is a prejudiced, foul drunkard a step away from his own grave. But he learns, and he gets better, always. He, very slowly and very painfully, recognizes his flaws, looks his prejudices in the eye and unlearns them with the dogged insistence of a man who believes he has to be better. He's flawed, but his moral backbone is made of steel, and cannot be bent or broken. He's what policemen would be, in an ideal world.

Cale Henituse (Trash of the Count's Family) — He just has such a range. He's the smartest person in the room. He's a self-sacrificing dumbass. He's a war criminal. He's a loving father of 3 to 15 children. He's weak. He's strong enough to beat a dragon. He hates the gods. He's on his way to godhood. He has all the trauma. Truly, the most character ever.

Sakata Gintoki (Gintama) — I once saw him described as 'a shōnen character who failed his shōnen journey and now has to live with it', and that is so correct. Does he have depression and PTDS? Yes, definitely. Is that going to stop him from eating parfaits and adopting kids? No. He's just going to have to deal with it, and live his life, and protect the people he cares about. And then he does.

Wen Jianyan (Welcome to the Nightmare Live) — An absolute bastard of a man. A liar and a thief. I love watching him put his foot in his mouth several times in every single chapter. Both the smartest person in the room, and an absolute dumbass. Would kill a man.

Parker (Leverage) — Autistic. Clever, and caring, and traumatized (but not autistic because of the trauma). The best thief in the world, and what would happen if a stray cat gained a human form. Slowly learns what it means to be a part of a family, and she loves it. Stabbed a man with a fork once.

Phryne Fisher (Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries) — An independent, glamorous and unflappable lady detective. Bold, aggressive or charming and sneaky as the situation requires. She loves life and new experiences, is respectful and caring towards everyone she meets, always treating others with sympathy and care.

Murderbot (The Murderbot Diaries) — A bot-human construct who claims to hate emotions and socializing but can't stop itself from repeatedly adopting different groups of humans and then risking its life to keep them safe. It is just so relatable. Socially anxious, hates talking about its feelings, would rather spend its days watching trashy dramas but is forced, by the consequences of its own decisions, to be the bodyguard of every person it meets. Snarky internal commentary, even while it's being shot at. I love it.

 Naoki's plan involved manipulating events in ways that ensured Kaoru would inevitably encounter the mystical substance.

Utilizing his skillfully designed web of influence, he orchestrated meetings and situations that would lead Kaoru directly into temptation's arms. And thus, subtly planting the seed of curiosity about the Skin Suit Drug, priming him to taste its alluring powers.

Unbeknownst to Kaoru, Naoki secretly arranged opportunities for them to spend quality time together, creating the ideal circumstances for seduction. With Kaoru unaware of the extent of Naoki's machinations, it wasn't long before the trap snapped shut tightly.

"And why exactly does your proposal involve me being here today?" he asked, genuinely curious.

"My proposition involves something called 'mystical drug,' a unique compound capable of transforming anyone into another person physically. It could grant someone newfound strength or agility based on the individual they choose to become. Objects in front of him blurred slightly, wavering back and forth like heat mirages on hot summer days. Realization dawned upon him – the transformation had begun.

But the transformation wasn't like Kaoru expected. At this moment, his body slowly deflated like a deflated balloon. He looked in the mirror in a panic. His body looked like it had been stripped of its skeleton, slowly collapsing to the ground until he finally transformed into a human bodysuit. He couldn't move, couldn't speak, but could only roll his eyes. He looked in the mirror and saw Naoki who was smiling crazily with satisfaction.

The feeling in his heart sank low, seeing himself turned into a lifeless suit. What kind of monster did Naoki want? Was this what he wanted? Did he actually desire this outcome? Why would anyone wish to strip away their flesh, leaving nothing but bones covered in delicate silk?

His hands were still visible as gloves on the "suit". But he couldn’t move them. Couldn’t feel them anymore. Just two leather gloved appendages attached to his “body”.

Feeling overwhelmed with dread, Kaoru tried to gather his thoughts, while simultaneously battling waves of confusion and resignation. The eerie calm surrounding him amplified the surreal nature of the unfolding events. With difficulty, he managed to convey his turmoil towards Naoki verbally, albeit weakly.

“Why…why did you do this?” Kaoru whispered hoarsely, attempting to mask his horror beneath a facade of bewilderment.

In response, Naoki laughed mockingly, dismissing Kaoru's concerns as mere paranoia.

Naoki took off all his clothes. He then moved forward menacingly, towering over the fragile suit. In spite of his malicious intent, Kaoru observed an undeniably sinister glint in Naoki's eye, causing a chilling sensation to ripple throughout his newly acquired shell.

As if reading Kaoru's thoughts, Naoki began circling the vulnerable object, methodically examining the exquisite craftsmanship displayed so prominently. Adrenaline coursed through Kaoru's veins, his pulse racing madly as he watched helplessly.

Desperately, he strained to free himself from the suffocating confines of his skinsuit prison, fighting valiantly against the impossibility of escape. Frustration swelled inside him as reality struck hard; there would be no reprieve. No salvation lay hidden within reach. His fate lay inextricably intertwined with the malevolence enveloping him.

Meanwhile, Naoki's unwavering confidence in his devious plan further solidified the growing sense of unease engulfing Kaoru.

Naoki began examining "Kaoru's body suit." He pulled it and stretched it with the force of his hand like a thick balloon. Kaoru himself felt no pain. It's like someone grabbed the skin and pulled it while being injected with anesthetic. There was only the feeling of being grabbed and pulled. Then Naoki remembered. He held it to his mouth. He pulled out the "Kaoru Bodysuit" and stretched it out. It stretched wide until Naoki could fit his legs inside. Kaoru felt strange that his own body was being invaded.

While Naoki continued manipulating the bodysuit with relish, Kaoru experienced newfound levels of terror. Tears welled up involuntarily, yet none escaped his tightened facial muscles. He knew any resistance would prove futile, as evidenced by his utter lack of control over his limbs and body. Naoki's legs slipped into Naoki's legs. "Kaoru Bodysuit" At first it was like trying to stuff something too big into a balloon. It inflated, but after a moment it compressed back. Naoki wiggled his toes, and the toes of "Kaoru Bodysuit" moved accordingly. It was like Naoki could use Kaoru's legs like his own. with excitement He quickly stuffed his other leg in. inserted into the leg of "Kaoru Bodysuit" on the other hand and he stood up on Kaoru's legs.

It felt weird to have another person standing up on your legs. Kaoru was shocked because he didn't expect such a thing to happen when they used the "skin suit drug." He looked at his friend stiffly, trying to figure out why he chose this way to go about things. Even though he was trapped in his own body, Naoki's smile filled him with a mixture of rage and despair. His anger boiled within, threatening to erupt despite his impotency.

Naoki tried to put "Kaoru's Bodysuit" continued, he smiled when he saw Kaoru's flattened cock. He slowly guided his cock into hers. "Kaoru Bodysuit" is like a leg. Kaoru stared at the mirror, grinning, laughing hysterically. Then he began to show Kaoru's expressions. The person he had been spying on for years.
