Hello! Here are the new traits that I have been working on. I have made 15 new CAS Traits
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How does this work?
Just like you would add any other CAS trait for your Sims. For reference, you can look at the photo and these are all the traits you would find in the game. These are compatible with all of my other previous traits.
Depending on what trait you use sims with the traits or sims around the sim with these traits can have certain reactions. It's just like how the traits work in general.
Tumblr media
Gamer: These Sims gain significant happiness and stress relief from playing video games, may become tense if they haven't gamed for a while, and excel in tech-related careers.
Romantic Idealist: These Sims dream of grand romantic gestures and true love, often getting mood boosts from romantic interactions but may become sad if their love life doesn't meet their lofty expectations.
Cuddle Bug: These Sims love giving and receiving hugs, gaining positive moodlets from cuddling with loved ones and pets.
Fairy-Tale Fanatic: These Sims are obsessed with fairy tales, feeling happy when reading or discussing them and often aspire to live out their own fairy-tale romance or adventure.
Baker: These Sims find joy and comfort in baking, experiencing mood improvements when making and eating baked goods.
Memory Keeper: These Sims cherish memories more than most, often reminiscing about past events, which can significantly affect their mood.
Vintage Lover: These Sims have a passion for all things vintage, gaining happiness from wearing vintage clothes and decorating their homes with retro items.
Home Chef: These Sims love cooking at home and experimenting with recipes, gaining positive moodlets from cooking meals for others.
Body Conscious: These Sims are often critical of their body, frequently feeling insecure and may seek validation or comfort from others regarding their appearance.
Love-Struck: These Sims easily fall in love, often feeling elated in romantic relationships but may experience deeper sadness from breakups.
Monogamous: These Sims prefer deep, committed relationships, gaining substantial mood boosts from stable relationships but may feel insecure with casual romances.
Heartbreaker: These Sims find it easy to start and end relationships, gaining confidence from romantic conquests but potentially leaving a trail of broken hearts.
Natural Beauty: These Sims are confident in their natural appearance, often receiving compliments and feeling happy without makeup or styling.
Elegantly Aged: These Sims age gracefully, often receiving compliments on their mature beauty and feeling confident in later life stages.
Body Positive: These Sims love their body in all its forms, often inspiring others to feel the same and rarely feeling insecure about their physique.
Hairstyle Hobbyist: These Sims love experimenting with their hair, feeling happiest and most confident after a visit to the salon or trying a new hairstyle at home.
Unkempt: These Sims don't prioritize grooming, often feeling indifferent to their messy appearance but may occasionally feel embarrassed in social situations.
Age Insecure: These Sims struggle with aging, often feeling sad or anxious about getting older and may seek rejuvenation through various means.
What else do I need for the mod?
The Mood Pack (If your UI disappears or there are UI issues after you play an animation with a mod it is because the Mood Pack isn't properly installed or installed at all. Please make sure you make note of this.)
Does this mod require any DLC?
The mod is BGC. The traits do tap into each pack so having them will create a more full experience. Not required though.
Questions and concerns you might have?
If you have one send it here: Trait Requests
Report it here: Mod Bug Report
How to install the mod?
You can choose to download whichever trait you want from the downloads below OR you can download the zip file "Maplebell More CAS Traits #3" If there are also traits you do not want then you can delete them from the folder.
Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods <--- Unzip the file and make sure it's placed in this path.

The gang indulges in some unrestrained summer fun!
This has been a wip for gosh knows how long, but I managed to get it done. It started with just Maire but then everyone got to join in.
The gang mostly belongs to @libras-interactives Lottie belongs to @maryannsstrawberry i belive. So sorry for misattributing her to Libra. Who has custody of Little Lottie I'm still unsure of tho.
Individual pngs below (theyre suposed to be transparent, but i guess tumblr can just decide not to do that sometimes. free website and all that), as well as art thoughts.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We’ll go from left to right
Jack: I feel like if Jack is going to the beach he need some protection from the sun. So along with a early 1920s style mens swimsuit, he’s also got a sun hat and a housecoat. I based it of a womans house coat as they look very light and breathable which probably helps with the heat while keeping him safe from sun. House coats were also generally not uncomon to wear on the beach. I also just like messing around with gender presentation in my art. I’m sure Marius approves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marius: Marius is sporting a mens bathing suit from the late 1920s. As he is very fashion forward I felt it fit him to wear something a bit more up to date. His fur pattern does make it look like he was wearing shorts and a t shirt and got sunburned lol. I based his fur on Eveline’s and the photos of the cat he was based on. Maybe a gradient would make it look a bit less silly idk. Feel free to weigh in if you have any ideas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eveline: I know Eveline prefers clothing from the late 1900-1910s more but I really loved how she looked with her hair up. I based her bathing suit on a 1920s version but added a few flairs to give it a bit more of a retro vibe for the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Lotties: I gave Lottie a bathing suit with a belt and a cap. As per the laws of the Lackadaisy-verse her ears are tucked safely into her cap. No ear holes here. I wanted to give her a beach bag but I couldn't find any type of purse specifically for that so she’s got a shopping bag instead. I felt she needed somewhere to keep little Lottie's beach toys and sun screen, speaking of: She is wearing a very normal child's bathing suit. Not much to say on it. I focused more on her posing than her fashion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Máire: the original name for this drawing when I was just planning on drawing her was bathing beauties… Anyway, she strikes me as someone who uses her time at the beach to relax and look good while doing it. Her swimsuit is based on something I saw on Pinterest. It had flowers painted on it which strikes me more as being ornamental. Shes also a pair of fashionable heals and a parasol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And last but not least Malwina: Malvina’s bathing suit is technically from 1926, so maybe she is just way ahead of the trends. Her shoes are laced beach shoes. I feel like shed take the opertunity to enjoy the fresh air, and swim in the cooling water. Maybe check out some cute boys. I think shed enjoy having a day where she can just be a normal teenager.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mc is probably around. Maybe off buying soda pops for everyone.
My main source for most of this was vintage dancer

“I’m wearing a Ralph Lauren button-down shirt, thrifted turtleneck underneath, skirt I made myself, leather jacket from The Vintage Twin, Doc Martens, and thrifted bag. What inspires my style today is how classic and classy the men wore clothing in the 70s with their awesome retro aesthetic. Taking inspiration from a specific decade or time and incorporating it into your own modern look can give it a unique and exciting appearance!”

hello!! I genuinely love the art I've seen from you so much (it's so good!!!) I was wondering Abt 2 things actually! First, how did you come up with the designs for the EB 4? (VERY ADORABLE BTW!!) and second, how did you achieve the artstyle you have? It's very pleasing to look at and a style I've always wanted have (or something close to it) ^^ just wondering if you have any tips for achieving such a fun artstyle!! hat's really all. If you don't know how to answer this that's fine, I just wanted you to know your art is so so so amazing ^^
Omg thank you for liking my stuff!! It makes me really happy&??&?? 😭😭❤️Hmmm for the clothing design honestly I mess around, I throw my personal likings, tastes and aesthetics into them along with headcanons (for Jeff's long coat for example, it just fitted his environement and I also like this type of clothing very much jkhgf I also take into account what the character would wear obv) and here we goo, one should not only stick to one clothes design I believe, play dress up it's fun!!
For the feature part I go with personality/nationality/hcs/lore and play around that! Ness for example reminds me a lot of my friend, so I base him on that :3c now I could explain how I chose that kind of things for everyone but is it that interesting? kjhgfd (dont let me yap omg I need to stop-)
Tumblr media
I try so hard to avoid same-face syndrome, giving different faces and features to as many different characters I can, it's very fun to mess around with that! For the twins I obviously HAVE to do a same-face syndrome but even with that.. I feel like they look too different???? Maybe I'm tripping,, but yeah the purpose was that once you portray characters that looks like each others for it to be striking just like in real life!
Tumblr media
(idk what I think of my Claus yet I'll try messing around more,,)
For my artyle? I'm going to be frl I do not know how I got there LMAO it changed drastically once I got my new computer, new program and had to change my tactic, again, I just represent what I like, usually in the colors, I LOOOVE brown, my favorite color, so thats why my art might look orange-brownish and I love retro/vintage feeling so I overpixelate that shiz etc etc, I also take inspiration from artists I like, I analyse how they draw certain stuff, what I like about it and unconsciously steal it kjhgfd I'm SO happy people like my artstyle sm aah its just me-core frl 🥺🥺 I hope you achieve an artyle that speaks to you!! But really just have fun, the more you put what YOU like into it, the more you'll like it!! ❤️

[Translation] capsule in girls '60s magazine (Feb. 2004)
When I first saw their music videos, the striking visuals immediately caught my eye. Simplistic designs, vivid color schemes on the outfits and sets… I can't describe the style as anything other than '60s-inspired. For the first edition of our "Pick Up Artist" feature, it's one whose existence fascinates me — let's take a look at the charm of capsule.
capsule is a music unit consisting of Nakata Yasutaka, whom manages the sound, art direction, design, concept work and so on, and vocalist Koshijima Toshiko. Nakata directs the image, visual aspects, and songs while Koshijima performs it all, resulting in their unique style. - original interview by Aikawa Chisato, translation by ystk-archive -
The reason behind their '60s-inspired visual style
Nakata: To be honest, I don't have any particular attachment to the '60s. I just like unique and minimalistic things, stuff with interesting shapes and clean designs and whatnot. It started when I got into interior design, and at first I especially liked Space Age furniture.¹ That's changed a little recently — I like pieces made out of wood but still with that outerspace kind of vibe. Even when it's made from wood, it doesn't feel natural, it still has this sort of odd look. When it comes to the '60s, I like the plywood that they often used. But I'm intrigued by Karimoku furniture too (laughs).²
— So would you say you're more interested in space and not the '60s?
Nakata: Yeah, and I guess sci-fi movies played a part in that. In movies like Men in Black you often see Tulip chairs, though I don't think they were used to evoke a retro or '60s feel on purpose.³ With films like that I tend to focus more on the furniture and not the overall atmosphere; if anything, I see furniture along with fashion as objects that look nice when put into a scene you're taking in as a whole. I like to come up with unconventional settings. Women are usually depicted in sci-fi films as secretaries, all wearing identical wigs and uniforms, and I like that kind of weird atmosphere. So instead of me consciously liking '60s aesthetics, I wound up thinking they were cool without making the connection that they were from that decade. I also love clothes that incorporate simplistic, striking designs, since they're like spacesuits (laughs).
— How do you feel about wearing clothes like that?
Koshijima: I'm also not obsessed with the '60s or anything, but I like to play around with that era's clothing and makeup styles. It's more fun than just wearing normal clothes.
— Have you two had similar tastes all along?
Nakata: Our tastes used to be completely different. I feel like she's adjusted to match me.
— So Koshijima-san is committed to being a model?
Koshijima: Yep. I haven't changed my approach, ever since the beginning.
— Are there times where you feel like your tastes really are different?
Koshijima: I don't think so. If we actually were fundamentally different, I don't think we'd be working together. Strangely enough, when I look at the materials I'm given, I start to think they're cute. Nakata: When I get an idea, I suggest it first. Koshijima: But he doesn't show me clothes or anything directly, instead he shows me photos and videos… Like I'm being brainwashed (laughs). The more he introduces me to all kinds of cool things, the more similar we become. After I watched the materials he gave me, poses and dance moves just started coming naturally to me without even realizing it.
— Maybe you ran across something from the '60s that left an impression and that ended up coming through in your image.
Nakata: Yeah, there are a lot of easy explanations for it. I wonder if we're more like a new product with a retro design that would fit nicely in someone's living room, rather than something that could be found in an authentic '60s vintage shop. I think even if we intentionally collected oldschool aesthetics from that era and tried to copy those, it'd still turn out differently, because peoples' concept of the '60s and the real '60s are two different things. But if you take parts of that concept people have of that decade and use them, you wind up with something that has the right feel to it. For me right now, the concept I have in mind is the "style" of the '60s. Instead of making clothes or objects to match up with the '60s aesthetic, the styles are already floating around in my head, and then I make content that reflects that. There were a lot of useless shapes — like aren't record players from back then weird-looking? The technology of them and the half-dome shape are of that time, but the way they look on the outside is as if someone was imagining the future while designing them. It's interesting how these days it's the opposite: now the exterior designs of things are retro while the tech inside is highly advanced. And I like both (laughs). I even like things that seem out of place. I'm drawn to a sense of disharmony.
— Would you say the essence of the '60s is woven into your music?
Nakata: Not intentionally. I think the things I like tend to show through my music on accident. Basically I want to make any music, as long as it's cute.
— So do you feel like music is essentially an object?
Nakata: Music is something I started doing because I thought I could create it. It was right when I was in junior high school, they'd made a lot of progress with technology so making cassette tapes became fun. Part of that was because I liked the feeling of winding a tape up. I liked playing around with machines more than the music aspect itself and, when it comes to decorating, I even like the look of a tape deck sitting in a room. So that's why I want our CDs to be sold in regular stores along with other kinds of merchandise. I don't think music should be classified as something special and separate; it's good if it's just one part of the total amount of belongings in a space. Rather than wanting people to listen to our music seriously, I'd be happy if they enjoy the atmosphere it gives when they play it out in the open.
¹ Space Age design was characterized by "sleek, aerodynamic lines and geometric forms," "dominated by bright, bold hues" and was often constructed of manmade materials such as plastic. You can read more about it here. ² Karimoku is a Japanese brand of all-wood furniture boasting superior craftsmanship. You can read more about it and look at examples here. ³ This is the famous Tulip chair.

Welcome to Retro Runways: Revisiting the Indie Sleaze Influence on Fashion – and How It’s Still Inspiring Street Style Today!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey, babe! 🌸 You know how we’re all about those nostalgic vibes, right? Well, let’s take a chic little trip down memory lane to revisit one of the most iconic eras in fashion – the indie sleaze movement. This wasn’t just a music scene; it was a full-blown style revolution that took over the runways and trickled down to the streets, leaving an everlasting mark on the way we dress today. So grab your favorite band tee and leather jacket, and let’s dive into Retro Runways, where we break down how the grungy, glam, and effortlessly cool indie sleaze aesthetic rocked the fashion world and continues to inspire us. 🎧✨
The Indie Sleaze Era: A Fashion Revolution 🌟
Okay, let’s set the scene: It’s the mid-2000s, and the fashion world is about to get a major shake-up. Indie sleaze isn’t just about the music (although that was a big part of it) – it’s about the attitude, the vibe, and, of course, the clothes. This was a time when the lines between high fashion and street style blurred in the most fabulous way possible. The runways started reflecting the gritty, rebellious spirit of the indie scene, and suddenly, everyone wanted a piece of that effortlessly cool, slightly disheveled look.
But how did this underground aesthetic make its way onto the runways? Let’s break it down with some of the most iconic collections that brought indie sleaze into the fashion spotlight.
Runway Highlights: The Collections That Defined Indie Sleaze 🎬
1. Alexander McQueen – Savage Beauty Meets Indie Edge 👑
Alexander McQueen was the king of dark, dramatic fashion, and his collections during the mid-2000s captured the indie sleaze vibe like no other. Think of his 2004 collection, which fused Victorian-inspired pieces with a punk rock attitude. It was all about mixing the old with the new – vintage silhouettes paired with leather, lace, and plenty of attitude. McQueen’s shows weren’t just fashion; they were theatrical experiences that embodied the gritty glamour of the indie scene. His influence on street style? Huge. Suddenly, everyone was mixing delicate lace with tough leather and adding a bit of grunge to their otherwise polished looks.
2. Hedi Slimane for Dior Homme – The Birth of Skinny Jeans 🖤
If there’s one designer who defined the indie sleaze silhouette, it’s Hedi Slimane. During his time at Dior Homme, Slimane introduced the world to the skinny jean – a wardrobe staple that became synonymous with the indie rock star look. His collections were all about sharp tailoring with a rebellious twist: skinny ties, slim-fit blazers, and, of course, those iconic super-skinny jeans. Slimane’s vision wasn’t just for the runway – it exploded into the mainstream, influencing everyone from musicians to street style stars. Even today, the slim, rock-inspired look remains a go-to for anyone channeling their inner indie icon.
3. Marc Jacobs – Grunge Goes Glam 🎸
Marc Jacobs has always been a bit of a rule-breaker, and his collections during the mid-2000s were no exception. Jacobs took the gritty, rebellious vibe of the indie sleaze scene and gave it a glamorous twist. His 2006 collection was a standout, featuring layered, oversized sweaters, mismatched prints, and that perfectly undone look that screamed “I woke up like this.” Jacobs made grunge look high fashion, and suddenly, everyone wanted to look effortlessly cool, just like the models strutting down his runway. His influence on street style? Total game-changer. We’re talking about messy hair, oversized sunglasses, and mixing high and low fashion like it’s no big deal.
The Indie Sleaze Influence on Street Style: Then and Now 👗
The best part about the indie sleaze movement? It wasn’t just confined to the runway. The real magic happened when this aesthetic spilled over into everyday fashion, creating a street style revolution that was all about self-expression, individuality, and not giving a damn about the rules.
1. The Birth of the “It Girl” 🖤
Indie sleaze gave rise to the ultimate “It Girls” – think Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, and Daisy Lowe. These style icons embodied the indie aesthetic in the most effortless way, mixing vintage finds with designer pieces and always looking like they just rolled out of bed (in the best possible way). Their influence on street style was undeniable – suddenly, everyone wanted to dress like the cool girl at the rock show, with bedhead hair, smudgy eyeliner, and a wardrobe full of band tees and leather jackets.
2. The Power of DIY Fashion ✂️
One of the most exciting aspects of indie sleaze was its embrace of DIY fashion. It was all about taking what you had and making it your own – ripping your jeans, cutting up your tees, and customizing your clothes to reflect your personal style. This DIY spirit wasn’t just a trend; it was a movement that encouraged creativity and individuality. And let’s be honest – who didn’t try their hand at DIY-ing their clothes to capture that perfectly imperfect indie vibe?
3. The Ongoing Influence on Modern Fashion 🎨
Fast forward to today, and the indie sleaze influence is still going strong. We see it in the resurgence of grunge-inspired fashion, with oversized flannels, distressed denim, and combat boots making a major comeback. The mix of high and low fashion – think pairing a designer bag with thrifted jeans – is a nod to the indie sleaze era’s anything-goes attitude. And let’s not forget the ongoing love for vintage band tees and leather jackets, which continue to be staples in any fashion-forward wardrobe.
Final Thoughts, Gorgeous: Indie Sleaze Forever! 🌟
So, there you have it – a deep dive into the retro runways that brought the indie sleaze aesthetic to life and how that grungy, glamorous vibe continues to influence street style today. Whether you’re channeling your inner rock star with a skinny jean and leather jacket combo or embracing the DIY spirit with your latest fashion creation, the indie sleaze era’s influence is everywhere – and we are so here for it.
The best part? Indie sleaze isn’t just about looking back – it’s about taking that rebellious, carefree attitude and making it your own. So, whether you’re rocking a vintage band tee or just feeling inspired by the icons of the mid-2000s, remember: fashion is all about self-expression, and there’s nothing cooler than being unapologetically you.
Are you ready to embrace your inner indie sleaze queen? Let’s chat in the comments about your favorite fashion moments from the mid-2000s and how you’re bringing those vibes into your style today! 💕

im agender and butch but i feel like... because im black i dont have the same access to androgyny and masculinity that other people do. the image of butchness or androgyny i see is always light skinned and fine haired and im just not that. it makes me feel like im never going to be read the way i want to or taken seriously as a gnc person. makes me really uncomfortable to go out
I'm going to answer this and will tell you first up that I'm white. My wife/spouse mod horseshoe is Black and has very similar experiences and feelings. when I saw your ask I right away thought of her and showed her, asked if she wanted to answer. She told me she doesn't know how she can help you when she hasn't figured it out either.
So I will tell you that one, you are not alone. Two, I will answer you similar to how I support her. and three, she is consulting on this ask (as she does on many advice asks, in fact!)
I'm sorry you're going through this, and especially that it's affecting your comfort in going out and being around people.
One thing I have done to try to help is find other darkskin Black folks that are doing gender in similar ways to her, on the internet. Just finding images of people who are similar I hope helps. I'm not particular about what exactly their identities are, just going for style and vibes. Lemme grab some (sorry it's leaning on instagram just bc it's easier for me to search accounts i follow there haha but I swear there are cool black gendery people everywhere, i'm sure you know this)

followers - if this sounds somewhat similar to you please go ahead and say something! or if you have any recommendations also please add them!
you can check out my style tag for like every post I've reblogged/shared that has images of people in it. it’ll have all types of people, but maybe it’ll help. you can also scroll back through my butch tag but that will not include every masc person in it. also the stud tag, and you can consider the stemme identity + label but i don't really have much in that tag rn sorry! maybe try checking the tags for these on tumblr, tiktok, instagram, maybe youtube? maybe you'll find people that look like you, or how you want to look.
my point here is that there ARE people out there doing androgyny, doing gender fun stuff and are Black and darkskin. maybe the people i'm recommending here aren't your vibe or style and that's totally fine, there are a lot of ways to be! i hope these can serve as some sort of inspiration for you. a reminder that gender diversity and androgyny exists and is possible for black people, that there are thriving communities and you have all sorts of options out there for you. also, remember that there are many ways to be androgynous, to be agender. maybe you're more a dapper butch, maybe more a sporty stud, maybe a skate style street style guy, maybe more a crunchy granola hiking outdoorsy look, maybe workwear and denim are more your speed, maybe you're a cozy dude who likes sweats and casual clothes, maybe you like bright colors and patterns, maybe you're into alt and goth styles, maybe you feel more comfortable in vintage and retro stuff. i promise that there is a way for you to look hot and feel comfortable in yourself and people will see your fabulous Black gender noncomforming self.
If you're into podcasts I recommend genderreveal by tuck woodstock- you can skip around and just listen to the episodes that interest you. I'm listening in chronological order because I kinda like going through time and seeing the development of things but you absolutely do not have to. There's a lot of episodes out, they've been doing it for a couple years now! there are plenty of interviews with black people of all gender varieties talking about their experiences and lives
i think. what's hard is that you can’t control how other people see you. you've got to come to terms with this. so you're most likely always going to have people not getting you, not understanding your deal (whether that's gender or something else). there's no foolproof way to get out of it or avoid it, no way to be 100% sure people will always gender you right or treat you right. this is not to say that you will never have people who get you, you certainly will and i wish that for you! i absolutely recommend you surround yourself with people you are supported by and who see you. but i'm not gonna tell you like "fuck what people think, do whatever you want" because i know it's not that easy ! trust your judgement, and trust your gut. all you can do is try to balance finding what makes you feel comfortable and what feels right to you with what feels safe. when you are feeling comfortable, it will help you to become confident. when you are confident and self-assured in who you are, what other people think of you and how they see you will not affect you so much. also, you deserve to be seen and gendered the way you want to be! i'm sorry it feels like it's not possible for you. I believe that it is possible, and i wish it for you soon!!
maybe you want to consider hrt, maybe top surgery, maybe try doing drag or drag makeup. experimentation is a huge thing and i can't recommend it enough. try practicing and experiencing with different styles, gender presentation, clothes, mannerisms, hair makeup jewelry whatever. you can listen to your feelings and your body and reflect on how you like it, see if it feels right. i recommend seeking out the things that make you feel comfortable in your body, find what makes you feel like yourself, and the androgyny and butchness (or whatever presentation you seek) will follow naturally.
wishing you the best in your journey 🧡

hi hi !! i think the stuff that you do is so impressive i can’t find anything for the life of me and it’s just uber cool :)
anyway, i was wondering if you could try to find the winter coat that lottie, natalie and travis wear? i believe it’s plaid and yellow/brownish, picture below (the only one i could find, sorry 😔)
thank you in advance !!
Tumblr media
Hi, thanks so much for your kind words! Your picture was very helpful!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I haven’t found the coat just yet but I’m theorizing a couple of possibilities. The coat has a retro silhouette so it might be vintage, I would normally discredit it but I can’t be sure. The costume department would ideally want multiples of it (especially as it is worn by multiple characters and gets dirty throughout the course of the season) but because it does resemble the look of a vintage coat I’m open to that possibility. The costume department has also made different articles of clothing specifically for the show (notably a couple of other jackets in season 2) so that might also be an option. If it’s actually vintage or custom made it will be hard to find something that matches it exactly. That being said, it would make the most sense for the coat to be modern (as they could’ve just bought multiples in a store) so an exact match could still be out there. I’ll keep searching but in the meantime here are some close matches.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The coat from the show is definitly in the style of 1960-70s wool “car coats” which are usually lined in a sherpa, shearling, or a similar fabric. Because of that, I’d consider vintage jackets from that timeframe to be close matches. If you’re in a colder climate you can probably find jackets similar to these in thrift stores but I’ve seen different ones online as well on sites like ebay or etsy. The coat in the show has pretty bright colors (blue, yellow, red, etc.) so I like these two coats I’ve included pictures of above because they have similar bright coloring. The one on the left is a 60s Towncraft wool men’s coat and the other Sackville Windbreaker coat from the 70s.
Tumblr media
If you’re looking for something more modern the coat above is the Black Bear Brand “Harris Tweed HIGHLANDER Coat.” I’m not gonna lie it’s pretty pricey but I think overall it’s one of the closer modern alternatives. The main difference is the collar shape and button color as the pattern is fairly similar.
I tried to find other modern coats but because it’s summer they’re out of season and mostly out of stock. In the winter I’ll probably have better luck finding other alternatives (if I can’t find the original coat by then). But if you want to do some more research on your own you could try looking up variations of “plaid wool sherpa lined coat.”
When I was doing research I found some websites apparently selling the “Lottie Yellowjackets coat” but I don’t know how legit any of them are and they don’t have actual product pictures which seems sketchy to me (red flag vibes). That being said, if anyone has experience with them being legit (or sketchy) please reach out and share your thoughts.
Hopefully this was helpful and sorry if I rambled too much!

How to Discover Your Aesthetic
Discovering your personal aesthetic, whether it's related to fashion, home decor, or your overall lifestyle, is a creative and self-exploratory process. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you identify and define your unique aesthetic:
1. Collect Inspiration:
- Start by creating an inspiration board. Collect images, photos, or examples from various sources that resonate with you. This could include fashion styles, interior design, art, nature, and more.
2. Identify Patterns:
- Examine your inspiration board and look for recurring themes, colors, and styles. Are there certain elements that stand out or make you feel particularly drawn to them?
3. Define Your Values:
- Think about your personal values and what matters most to you. Are you environmentally conscious, minimalist, or drawn to vintage and retro elements? Your values can influence your aesthetic choices.
4. Assess Your Lifestyle:
- Consider your daily life and routines. Are you a busy professional, an adventurer, a homebody, or a creative artist? Your lifestyle can influence your aesthetic preferences.
5. Take a Personality Test:
- Some personality tests, like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or the Enneagram, can offer insights into your personality and may provide hints about your aesthetic preferences.
6. Experiment and Explore:
- Don't be afraid to experiment with different styles and aesthetics. Try out various clothing styles, decor themes, and hobbies to see what feels most authentic to you.
7. Edit Your Space:
- Make gradual changes to your living space that reflect your evolving aesthetic. This can include rearranging furniture, choosing new color schemes, or adding decor items that resonate with you.
8. Seek Feedback:
- Share your ideas and style choices with friends or family and ask for their input. Sometimes, others can provide valuable perspectives.
9. Embrace Evolution:
- Keep in mind that your aesthetic can evolve over time. Don't feel pressured to stick with one specific style forever. Allow yourself to adapt and refine your aesthetic as you grow and change.
10. Stay True to Yourself:
- Your aesthetic should reflect your genuine preferences and personality. Don't try to conform to trends or other people's expectations. The most important thing is that your aesthetic makes you feel comfortable, confident, and true to yourself.
Remember that discovering your aesthetic is a journey, and there's no rush to define it quickly. Embrace the process of self-discovery and enjoy the freedom to express yourself through your chosen aesthetic.

1. Establish traditional gender roles. Even in same-sex relationships, couples can assign different roles to each partner, such as one partner being “the man” and the other “the wife.”
2. Utilize classic cleaning techniques from the 1950s. Polishing furniture, ironing linens and clothes washing using a hand-cranking device can be a fun project.

Do you have a backstory for cuphead and mugman in the cyberpunk au?? Also what aesthetic is the cyber punk mostly based on or is it just only cyberpunk???
Ok I don’t think I really have a lot for Cuphead and Mugman’s backstory it’s pretty much like OG IM. Cup and Mugs gambled their souls tried to get their souls back, lost, becomes trained by Black Hat, and they become hit men working for the Devil bringing us to when they join the quest. The only major thing I can think of in terms of differences from that story line would be how they got their cyberware so I guess I’ll explain that.
Simply put there was a mission that went wrong when they were about 13 and 16 years old. They weren’t expecting explosives on the mission so cup and mugs woke up days later both missing an arm, cup losing an eye, and Hat and Flug barely managing to salvage Mug’s eye. Thankfully, Dr. Flug and Hat work/invent a lot of cyberware tech so the cupbos were quickly set up with cyberware. Eventually, Cuphead got an AI program installed in his cyberware. The AI is called Chalice (the Devil chose the name as a cruel joke) and she works as kind of a personal assistant to Cuphead and Mugman. Cuphead hates her. Mugs doesn’t mind her. That would have been a year later max after the explosion.
Now. Second question. Which, honestly, I cussing loved this one. This was so much fun to answer. Ok, so, in terms of aesthetics it depends on the location: Hell, the Surface, and the Upper. (Yes I had to look up what the different types of aesthetics are, bear with me. Please.)
For Hell its mostly steampunk/steelpunk inspired in general. I guess it also has some kind of a dark academia/victorian vibe to it. Hell is industrial, dark, dirty, and crude. Pipes and machines are everywhere making up its entire world in a Feísmo aesthetic for buildings and architecture and things. Think of it like the Surface and Upper are much more advanced than Hell, Hell was stuck in the steampunk era because of lack of resources and its seclusion from the rest of the world. So. It’s old, barely functioning, and depressing.
On the Surface you have two different types of settings that are the most important in terms of IM and the cyberpunk AU in general. The city and not the city. (this being places like Sillyvision and the Inkwell Isles.) For the non-city areas its not nearly as technologically advanced as in the city. They still have modern technology but it blends into suburban living. I imagine something kinda vintage and retro. Like retro-futurism, atompunk, technocore, old web. You know. Vintage. I guess.
Now in the city is probably what everyone wants to know. For this I have just a modge-podge of aesthetics. In general I think its cybergrunge. For the tech elements its some variations of abstract tech, nanopunk, and hacker core, obviously. For clothing I took major inspiration from techware styles. Other aesthetics I used in majority were things like arcadecore, raver, glowwave, synthwave, neo-Tokyo, urbancore, and citypop. It’s a lot. I know.
Now the Upper looks almost completly opposite of Hell and the Surface. Pretty much Solarpunk/cyberparadism in majority. I guess I also used some aspects of bloomcore and cloudcore too. This place is supposed to be a utopian ‘paradise’.
In Summary:
Hell: Steampunk/steelpunk, Feísmo, Dark academia, Victorian
Surface out of city: Vintage, Suburban, Retro-futurism, Atompunk, Technocore, Old web
Surface in city: Cybergrunge, Abstract tech, Nanopunk, Hackercore, Techware, Arcadecore, Raver, Glowwave, Synthwave, Neo-Tokyo, Urbancore, Citypop
Upper: Solarpunk/cyberparadism, Bloomcore, Cloudcore

Yarny YouTube reccomendations
So I like watching yarncraft-y videos while I do my own yarny crafting (because if I watch them when I'm not crafting it'll just make me want to craft and procrastinate on work and that ain't good), and I kinda just wanted to give out some yarny channel reccomendations especially since some of these channels are on the smaller side and deserve more views
Now I want to give out a disclaimer that I really like watching videos about people making things, like, "I wanna make X item, come with me to make the thing and let's see what might go wrong". I'm not really into podcasts that much, nor am I into tutorials. There are great channels that do fantastic videos that fall into those two categories, but since they're not the kind of videos I personally enjoy watching, I'm not including them. These are my reccomendations based on my preferances, nothing objective etc
BTW I've linked the videos I'm reccomending on this video in the channel names so if you want to go watch the video immidiately, no need to go looking for them, already there
Michelle Jasek
Tumblr media
(Formerly known as Fancy Dinosaur Tea Party) Absolute Queen, has a funky vintage style that makes her crochet creations super interesting, and makes the exact type of videos I love. Her videos are the backbone of my crochet video needs.
She does also make thrifting and sewing videos and other content, and all of it is great, but man, those crochet videos just hit different
Kayla (Alt Knots)
Tumblr media
Kayla does a lot of haul-type videos, reviewing yarns and hooks and those are the videos I go to them for. They also do occassional DIY projects (with an alt twist for my fellow gothically inclined friends) and tutorials, just a lot of community content, like if you enjoy having crochet-alongs or watching movies or chatting streams or doing book clubs while crocheting, Kayla has you covered, they do a lot of content.
Also god damn I have never wanted an ergonomic crochet hook before but Kayla is going to singlehandedly convince to buy one from Furls sooner or later out of sheer FOMO
Retro Claude
Tumblr media
Around July of 2022, Claude uploaded this video of her sharing her yarn stash and what a Problem it had kind of become for her. In the video she goes deeper into the stash to figure out how much yarn she has and has since been uploading monthly videos in her Stash Busting series, where she tries to use up all the yarn she has.
Claude mainly does vintage knitting, some of her projects getting their own videos while others only get shown in the stash busting series. She also does (vintage) sewing and, what else can I say, her videos are great, go watch them
Shaiyeh - Witchy Knits Podcast
Tumblr media
Like I mentioned before, I'm not a podcast person really, but Shaiyeh's knits tend to have a very whimsical twist to them that appeal to my gothic ass so I can't help but to be drawn to her yarn-videos. They're very chill and cozy so I really want you go check her videos out, they're painfully underrated and she deserves way more views than she gets
Engineering Knits
Tumblr media
I'm not really a knitter but vintage knitting is just facinating and Engineering Knits does a lot of that, as well as other videos that're either knitting or vintage clothing related. Go check her out!
Wool Needles Hands
Tumblr media
Wool Needles Hands does mainly podcasts but between her podcasts she often does either pattern reccomendations (mainly for knitting) or some wonderful, extremely informative videos about yarn-related subjects, and it's those informative videos (like the one I've linked above) that I always find myself looking forward to
TL Yarn Crafts
Tumblr media
I'm sure you already know Tony, she is an Absolute Goddess and her tutorials are a godsend. But I'm not including her on this list because of her tutorials, no, she's on this list because I love watching her reviews, be it for yarn or gadgets, they're all great.
But also if you ever need any crochet tutorials, Tony has you covered, she is without a doubt the best crochet tutorial maker on YouTube and if you haven't watched her videos yet, you're missing out (which is why she's at the bottom of the list, because surely you already know her)

Xela headcanons!
You're the level-headed friend, the one people come to for objective advice
You own a lot of statement outfits in your wardrobe, and are a collecter of unique pieces
Movie lover!
You appreciate a certian level of luxury in life and don't feel out of your depth in more fancy spaces
You're an introspective person and spend a lot of time thinking about the deeper meanings of interactions between people
Hopefully I got a couple of these right!
Faye you got everything right wow! I can't say for sure for the first one but it does appear so.
I am obsessed with curating clothes that boost my confidence! My wardrobe is a mix of styles across eras and vibes. Sometimes I'd be lowkey with a simple tee and shorts when I'm lazy, but I also have a couple of vintage-looking floor-length dresses with a square neckline, a regency inspired dress with the classic empire waist and bubbly sleeves, an even bubblier sleeve dress but this time it's modern, a preppy pastel lace dress that make me feel like a doll whenever I wear it, retro pieces a la Sex Education, and patterns everywhere (flowers, teddy bears, rabbits, fun houses in the vein of Alice in Wonderland). The colours are also all over the place—I've gone past the dilemma of "If I buy this would I have anything to match it with?" The answer is always yes.
You saw my letterboxd link on my bio didn't you? I love writing my jumbled thoughts right after watching a film there.
And I think so! I still love eating cheap food and am wired to find effective ways to save money, but I don't mind the occasional indulgence especially if I'm not the one paying :) I'm a city girl through and through who hates bugs and soil and nature and whatever, so that preference must have come along naturally.
I literally just met up with an old friend and right after that, I spent the whole day thinking about how I've outgrown yet another friendship but this time I'm apathetic because we've grown so far apart anyway and how I can have such different social circles who are unlikely to go along well if they ever meet and how I can fit in all of them easily on the surface level but I've lost the sense of belonging I used to have with them.

the reason why charlotte's style has a vintage / retro edge to it isn't because she ever felt an infinity or preference for the look, but because over time, the more clothes she accumulated, the more the retro pattern emerged since she usually tried to take the clothes that seemed the most durable. fabrics like denim, corduroy, and flannel which are more durable are also naturally associated with vintage clothing. in getting her clothes for cheap from thrift stores, garage / estate sales, and community fundraisers, char inadvertently built a vintage flair for herself.
charlotte has a lot of phone numbers in her phone, but none of them are named or labelled. if you are someone she speaks to often or a friend ( or an enemy, for that matter), she will most likely have your number memorized.
char being an optimist is her finding herself in the most awful situations possible and still being like "it's not that bad it's really not that bad! it could totally be worse ok this is fine it's an adventure it's fine," even though she's probably taking in every single fucking detail around her, and her brain is steaming from her trying to devise a way out or through the situation, but it's still not really a lie to say she's still having a good time. as a reference, charlotte is always lying when she says "i'm sorry," and when she looks at you and tells you that "it's going to be okay," it's a fifty-fifty shot whether she's lying or being genuine, but when she tells you "i'll figure it out," that's always the truth.
if you were to empty char's pockets, you're most likely to find: a swiss army knife, a couple elastic bands, a hairtie (which is different than the elastic bands), spare change, a lemon drop or two, a bus or train ticket, a matchbook, loose pages of a notepad with various things written on the pages. these are what you usually find in her pockets. her bag is a different story.
charlotte has an average tolerance for alcohol. a rum and coke with lime is her go to drink, but charlotte, in fact, does not often imbibe. she never drinks when she is alone and she never drinks enough to pass a solid buzz. if you do find her drunk, you can blame it on the ladies down at the bingo hall or in her book club. that, or she's up to something and getting drunk on purpose, but this is a rarity. the closest of the typical "types" of drunks that describes an intoxicated charlotte is a mix between the "happy drunk" and the "spacey drunk." her spirits remain buoyed when drunk, she laughs just as easily but maybe a little harder, and she focuses on the light in the world. she also becomes a little...slow, for the lack of a better word. she'll be nodding along to what someone is saying only to realize she didn't understand any of it, she'll squint and blink her eyes in confusion, and she'll stare after people as it takes time for her register what someone might've said and how she'd like to react. charlotte doesn't enjoy getting drunk as it messes with her memory, and worsens her already warped sense of perception.
