Genshin character Judgement after all these years of playing. I will judge looks, personality, and say my favorite voice! Now with 5-stars, alphabetical order PART 2.
(under the cut)
Tumblr media
Definitely a a better looks than Ganyus... Cloud Retainer whats going on with you that your daughters are dressed this way tho... BUT. I love Shenhe. Her story was so good... her song still makes me cry. Its a shame she doesnt exist anymore LMAO.
Her CN and KR voices are best IMO. I dont mind her EN tho.
Tumblr media
Cute design but I wish she was a regular Melusine. ALSO HYV sure has the nerve to do a 'RACISM BAD' storyline with her but still fucking refuse to add a playable character with dark skin or a different hair texture... especially in NATLAN which is based on the precolonial Americas and Africa... ITS A CHOICE. Really the only time we see darker skin characters with locs are ENEMIES. Fuck off. Sigewinne this isnt your fault baby close your eyes.
I dont like her EN VA at all but the rest are very cute.
Tumblr media
King dripless. My god. Also he was WAAAAY to easily forgiven for what he did... But his personality is fun so I cant hate him.
His EN voice too is kinda goofy... but his other VAs have sexy voices. So good for them.
Tumblr media
UGH.
UGHHH His EN VA got replaced because the old one was a creep but they replaced him with such a generic voice it kinda sucked. LMAO. Not as bad as his JP voice tho... why does he sound 12?
Tumblr media
Venti my boy. It took me awhile to warm up to Venti but I like him a lot now. I WILL SAY... there a quite a few people who will tear down Zhongli for him and I hate them. To mischaracterize Zhongli to make Venti look better is crazy... for what? VenXiao? Its a choice. Its not Zhonglis fault hes got a better relationship with Xiao... also if Zhongli got people drunk without their consent or brushed aside Barbaras stalkers youd ring his neck.
THAT ALL SAID. Ventis fun. Good guy mostly. Im fairly certain he'll have a 2nd story come Natlan considering his connections to Vanessa.
I dont mind any of his VAs.
Tumblr media
Biggest glow up in Genshin history. I kinda dont like that he deleted his misdeeds from the history of the world... BUT.... hes getting better and hes putting in effort to be better so I got over it. He was really great in this Summer event. Wish he wasnt fuckin BLUE tho. Ya know now that I think about how Scara deleted himself from the GI memory I guess thats why Nahida has a digital vibe.. I guess the tree IS like a computer... (I still think its weird) Also I named MY wanderer Galilei! To go with the Bohemian Rapsody theming hes got... also I chose Galilei over Galileo cuz 'Lil Ei' since hes one of Eis puppets. IM SO FUCKING GOOD.
I like his CN voice the best.... WHYD JP GO WITH THAT VOICE THATS SO FUNNY. WTF
Tumblr media
Hot. There was a concept design where he had darker skin and an eyepatch... we coulda had it all. But he still looks great. WHAT WAS WITH HIS PAST THO!? WHY IS FONTAINE SO FUCKED UP IDK. ALSO WHY WOULD HE BE GUILTY OF KILLING HIS CHILD MURDERING FOSTER PARENTS?! WTF IS WRONG WITH FONTAINE!? LYNETTE GOT FUCKING SOLD TO SOME CREEPS! THEY ALSO LOCKED UP A PREGNANT WOMAN WHO GAVE BIRTH IN THEIR AND DIED AND WE HAD TO REUNITE THE GRANDDAUGHTER WITH HER GRANDFATHER AND I ONLY JUST REALIZED RIGHT BEFORE AND WAS LIKE 'WAIT A MINUTE IS THIS THAT RANDOM NPCS GRANDDAUGHTER!? IS THE REASON SHE NEVER WROTE HIM BACK CUZ SHE FUCKING DIED?!' and thats exactly what happened. HUGE fridge horror moment for me right before it was revealed in game. LMAO..... .... anyways.
No complaints on the VAs.
Tumblr media
MAN I remember seeing her design leaked and being... just infatuated. Shes a rare W vs her concept design which gave her like bellbottoms and I was scared for a moment that THAT might be the design they went with BUT NO! We got THIS. Beautiful. Her personality is also SO fucking cute. Shes so cute. I love that she acts tough until someone is nice to her and she gets all flustered.... Shenhe saying she thought of her and Xianyun being all touched about it... ;w;... But also her badly haggling was so funny and she was cool with that one dude being kinda rude to HER but the minute he doubted Zhongli she got so mad in his defense... Shes so cute... I love her.
EN VA clears. I think she does the best illustrating Xianyuns personality.
Tumblr media
My mans Xiao... I thought I wouldnt like him since Im not fond of tsundere characters but hes a good boy. Also hes a Zhongli stan so how can I NOT love him. His quest in the Chasm was particularly good... ;w; the way I cried when Paimon shouted 'XIAO!!!!' LMAO.. that hurt my feelings even though I knew HYV didnt have the balls to kill him.
I think his EN VA sound SUPER petulant mostly but the deranged way he says USELESS and DISAPPEAR!!!! makes me laugh so I dont actually mind it... that said the others all clear him.
Tumblr media
I dont like Yae as much as I thought I would when I first saw the Inazuma cast leak... but I still like her and her relationship with Ei (and Gorou) but im not that attached.... like I guess thats sorta how I feel for more of the Inazuma cast TBH.
JP voice clears... I am not immune to ARA ARA
Tumblr media
Yelans outfit is so fucking GOOFY. Shes pretty tho... just wish she had better clothes.... Her character is great too but shes probably one of the characters Im LEAST invested in Liyue.
Her EN voice is sexy as hell.
Tumblr media
MY FAVORITE INAZUMA GIRL!! The babiest. I love her so much. Shes so damn cute and lovely and her quest with the Aranara was weird... but adorable and I love her. Shes the only bow DPS I even TRIED to pull for. They could never make me hate you Yoimiya!!! Ive loved her from the minute I saw her on the leaked Inazuma cast lineup.
I like her JP voice the best~
Tumblr media
AH. Finally... the TRUE BABYGIRLEST. My handsome dad, my beautiful son, MY BEAUTIFUL SUN, MY PRINCESS... MY QUEEN. I love Zhongli so much... I can never leave Genshin no matter how annoyed I get with it because this demon right here. Hes got me by the heartstrings. Like with Navia (GEO STAY WINNING) I know when hes got a part in a story they just cant fuck it up. Hes also dripped out to hell. I hope SOMEDAY we actually get a story about YOU instead of random history... not that I havent enjoyed the blasts from the past (especially Azhdaha my second favorite character) but like... WHAT ABOUT YOU SPECIFICALLY TELL ME....
I love all of Zhonglis VAs. I like EN and CN the best tho.
---
Again with Natlan I dont know the star rating Im just guessing.
Tumblr media
Pretty my guaranteed 5-star... I liked her design a lot more before it was pointed out that her zipper goes all the way up her ass... now her outfit is kinda gross. Also nothing about it really reads like the cultures Natlan takes from so similar to Nahida... Im kinda disappointed. Shed also look better with at least a tan...
Tumblr media
Im so surprised people on Twit are obsessed with this design... its so fuckin boring... her animations are super cute tho.
Tumblr media
I guess its fine. Like with Nahida... i dont like the weird digital-ness of him. The color palate is pretty great tho. (hed look better with a darker skin tone tho)
Tumblr media
Shes so damn hot. A rare W from the Natlan cast. She'd look better with a darker skin tone tho.
Tumblr media
UGH.
Tumblr media
Capitano.... please... Please look good by the end of your story. I have such a sinking feeling youre Ororon... Please dont be. Id be so disappointed. Hasnt Natlan done enough to disappoint me.... I know you wont be playable if youre the spooky faceless monster I want but at least dont be fucking boring... PLEASE.

I actually want to talk about a short story book plan I had back on around 2020(?) and that I'm slowly coming back to.
I cant remember if it was around 2020 or 2021 or if it started in 2019, but I remember being in front of a computer while thinking about it, so idk. Maybe 2020.
Cus I remember being influenced by senmu's work by the time? And some of these seem to have some ressemblance.
I remember stopping writing them because they started making me feel ill to my stomach. Maybe you'll see why. The scenes of each story were too personal and were wounds that hurt too much for me to handle at the time.
Now I see them with a bit of fondness.
The stories are going to be written in portuguese tho, ahahah. Not here! Here you'll have short summaries.
Warnings for each story summary on the improvised name for each of them
Dream Boy (abuse, murder, suicide)
This one is quite simple. A man in a big city has developed major depression due to loneliness and is struggling in a small friend group he made of horrible people. These "friends" basically just use him for his (broke) wallet or to beat him up or harrass him. Due to that, he slowly starts to make a fictional person inside his head to be his best friend. He eventually actually develops feelings for this fictional boy, and starts going slowly but surely mad. His life is a mess, he is constantly almost getting evicted, he locked his university course and his friends suck. That dream person is the only person he has. He eventually has a breakdown and kills his "friends" and ends up getting arrested. He commits suicide shortly after to reunite with his beloved.
Girl best friends (abuse, suicide, murder, homophobia)
This one's very short and simple. Two girls are best friends in a very conservative town, and one starts developing feelings for the other one. Let's call them 1 and 2. One day, they are having a sleep over, and 2, who knows about 1's feelings for her, starts whispering sweet poison to her. 1 gets flustered and asks what she's talking about, receiving a confused look from 2. Basically things like that happen for a while, 2's whispers developing from sweet nothings to... something weirder. 2 starts to talk about death and wanting to kill hersef when they graduate highschool, which was some months from then. Slowly 2 also starts suggesting for a double suicide. 1 is scared, but 2 keeps pushing and pushing for her to do it. On graduation day, they go to the roof together, and 1 once again hesitates, but 2 looks at her and tell her she loves her so so much and that she can't wait to die together with her. 1 sits on the edge and breathes but chickens away, making 2 angry. 2 pushes 1 down the building. 1 looks up while falling, realising 2 was not jumping. 2 had tricked her. She never wanted to die. She wanted 1 dead.
Three friends (cannibalism, animal death)
This one. Changed a lot. Originally it was about a starving girl, her dogs and a mysterious kind stranger. The stranger gave her food and she was forever grateful. Slowly though, her dogs start missing. Her meals are her only source of comfort. One day, instead of a full meal, the stranger appears and shows her one of her dead dogs. Rips it apart and feeds it to her. She had been feeding the girl on human and dog meat all along.
Now, there's only 2 people in that story (which I took some liberties to change from its actual original, since silly me doesn't remember much besides dogs and cannibalism), so why the 3 title? Thats because for a good while I changed it. It is the time loop yuri story I talked about. With the same characters and similar ideas, a girl was trapped in a time loop where her two friends kept killing each other and grotesquely mutilating and eating themselves, and how it kept getting worse because the girl started actually making things worse HERSELF.
But I ended up... not liking it? I don't know, my original ideas were feeling based only, I couldnt seem to make a plot out of it. It's a nice idea, but not for them. I won't scrap it, just like what happened to Henry (hence why there's two of them), but the murder besties will stay on the shelf for a while.
Yes I will write the dog eating story instead. Lol.
That's honestly it? Like, it's three stories I made at a very low point of my life, and based off emotions I couldn't seem to explain at the time. Now I understand them better and wish to explore it on these stories I made at my lowest.
Sharing here because... maybe someone here likes grotesque stuff? Haha. Well. Hoped you who read this liked it!

pairing: captain rex x Jedi!gn reader
word count: somewhat over 5k (im sorry)
warnings: none, just some diet angst and maybe some typos
summary: you and Rex both thought the other to be gone for good, but fate brings you together once again to prove you otherwise. A chance you thought was lost appears again and you must decide if you’ll take it or not.
AN: OK Y’ALL I know I said many times that I would post this and then I never do but hear me out. I intended to post this the week after TBB episode 7 came out but I got sick™️ my brain could not think of or type a single word for a week. Then life got busy with work problems and it took me another week to finish this. BUT I’m happy I can share with you now. So here you go, a shiny new Rex fic that I hope you like. Enjoy! (gif by @obihoekenobi not mine lol I cant gif)
------
The Marauder makes a smooth decent into the Ord Mantell space port –a very welcome change after being tossed around the ship while trying to get away from Rhokai. Ruby, the lizard you stole from the Rhokai —named by Omega— moves restlessly around her cage. Hopefully she’ll end up in good hands once Cid delivers her to whoever is paying for the bounty. You’re still not sure what to make of the Trandoshan, but she’s been hospitable so far. At least hospitable enough to let clone deserters, Omega and a Jedi stay with her. Still, after what happened at the end of the Clone Wars, you’re not one to be trusting when it comes to strangers.
Everyone gathers their things by the hatch and wait for the familiar hiss of it opening to start their descent. When you don’t go to the main hatch, Omega and Echo being the last ones to head out,  turn back to look at you.
“You’re not coming with us?” Omega asks you after calling your name, which makes you shake your head no while sending a soft smile her way.
“No, you go ahead.” You stand up from the seat in front of the main computer and run your hand over her head. “I’ll stay behind for a bit, I’ll meet you back at Cid’s later.”
“Ok!” The kid smiles. “Say bye to Ruby.”
You chuckle and decide to amuse her by crouching in front of the cage. “Goodbye Ruby, take care wherever you go.” You send the lizard a wave before standing up once more.
“We’ll see you later then.” Echo nods at you, the look in his eyes shows he knows why you’re staying behind. You return his nod with one of your own before turning around and heading to the back of the ship.
The floor is littered with ration crumbs, used socks and cables. Even Omega’s bad batcher had managed to find its way under a heavy crate. “I don’t even know why we’ve got you here Gonky, when all the trash is just thrown on the floor.”
The droid makes a sound that sounds a lot like an agreement. It prompts a chuckle out of you as you keep picking things up and placing them where they should be. You put Tech’s cables back on his bunk bed, the laundry on its bin, and the rest of the trash inside Gonky who beeps happily.  Once everything is back in order and the Marauder resembles a ship more than a junkyard, you clean your hands and make your way to a seat at the front of the ship. Your feelings had been all over the place lately, not that anyone notices, but you needed some time to meditate.
It’s important for you to find some peace in the midst of the chaos and the nervousness creeping up your neck whenever Wrecker gets a headache. Just as you’re about to sit down though, you remember Omega’s bad batcher, stuck under a crate in the back. You sigh and turn back around, better to help the poor trooper and leave it in Omega’s room, than having her and Wrecker move everything around later trying to find it.
You haven’t been travelling with the Bad Batch for a long time –you found them in Pantora only a few rotations back, when you had recognized Hunter at a pawn shop. Still, you’ve grown fond of them in your time together. They really are a family, with the bickering, the laughter and the care that makes you feel glad to come back every day. You had worked together before, when the batch helped your battalion on some missions during the clone wars, so it was a relief to see a familiar face in when you were all alone. You knew it was a risk to even call out to the Sergeant in the shop, not knowing if his chip would be active or not, but it was that or being on the run and jumping from one transport to another.
It was reassuring really, to know their chips didn’t function as those in other troopers did. Like the soldiers in your own battalion, your friends…
Shaking yourself from those bad memories, you make your way back to where you saw Omega’s toy. It’s under 2 crates behind some cargo boxes, that you start to rearrange. You move the first one with ease towards another pile, but when you lift the second crate and save the trooper, the bracelet on your right hand gets stuck on the crate it comes loose when you stand up.
“Dank farrik!” You whisper to yourself, putting the trooper aside and crouching down to get your bracelet back on. Upon closer inspection, it was only the brown leather cord that had come loose, the beautiful blue stone tied to the middle was still intact. “Thank the Maker.” You’re relieved to say the least, when you tie the bracelet back on your hand and rub the stone softly as it sits on your wrist.
It’s a reminder of the past, of the war that just ended in such a gruesome way, and a reminder of him. Rex.
The captain had given you the stone when he had come back from an underwater mission in Mon Calamari. He’d said he found it in the ocean and knew that if you’d been there, you would have picked it up as well. You had ignored his flustered expression to save him from further embarrassment and thanked him softly –all while your heart fluttered as your fingers brushed. Private interactions were always like that with him, shy and hidden as it had to be.
Even when feelings kept growing between you, they were kept under lock and key for the sake of the war. There was no time for it and it wouldn’t have been seen right. So it was a secret when you worked together and it remains a secret even now… he’s dead and you never got to say it, it’s like the two of you never had a chance.
The pain in your throat is familiar to you as you try to keep your tears at bay. You sit there on the floor of the Marauder and curse fate for sending you off to different missions before the end of the war. Now you live with the regret in your conscience, all the pain that comes with it and newfound guilt at the thought of your travels with the Bad Batch. You’re endangering them, and Omega, by being part of the crew.
What if you are recognized, what if someone hurts them to get to you? One thing is for sure, you must talk to Cid and find a way to leave on your own. Perhaps you can go to a secluded planet and work for Cid when she needs you, or you’ll stay in Ord Mantell. Whatever the plan is though, you know for sure that it must be alone –if someone’s ever going to get hurt because you’re a Jedi, that’ll be you. You unclip your lightsaber and throw it to the back of the ship in frustration, to think you believed things to be complicated before.
You let yourself cry for a few more minutes, and then meditate on your decision to leave the Batch for a couple more before you stand up, take your datapad on the way, and leave the ship. You close the hatch with your vambrace and make your way out of the port and towards Cid’s bar. The streets are dirty like you left them and somewhere far ahead a pipe has broken and it’s slowly filling the street with water. Sighing, you decide to take the the route through the market to avoid the small flood and your frown is immediately replaced by a smile when you see Omega and Wrecker enjoying two boxes of Mantell mix.
Omega spots you first and waves, which gets Wrecker’s attention. He calls your name and waves you over. “We have Mantell Mix!” He points enthusiastically to it as you approach the two.
“Best part of the mission!” Says Omega, offering you some. “You’ve got to try it.”
You chuckle and oblige, picking some of it and chewing it carefully. The sweet and salty taste is delicious, and you immediately know why the two have become addicted to it. “It’s delicious!” You tell them, and then a thought crosses your mind. “Have you paid for these?”
Wrecker chuckles, “We put them on Cid’s tab! It’s fine.”
“If you say so…” You shrug. If Cid hasn’t said anything yet, then it’s probably fine. “I’ll see you two back at the bar. Enjoy.”
“Bye!” Omega waves for a second before becoming engrossed with the sweet treat in front of her once more.
Though your smile is small it stays on your face as you turn right at the familiar alleyway leading to the underground bar. It continues to be there as you examine the art covering the walls next to the stairs, but it dies quickly when you reach the bottom and see the people sitting by the bar. There, between Echo and Hunter is Rex? In a poncho?
You drop the data pad  you were holding, and it clatters when it falls on the floor, the sound loud in the silence that has fallen over the group. Your eyes meet Rex’s, and you can’t form a single word. The air you had inhaled is stuck in your chest. “You’re- What?” Your mind can’t form a single word other than his name, especially when he stands from his chair and whispers yours.
“I thought you were dead. How? Are you travelling with them? Are you… okay?” The captain seems to ask question after question that you can’t pay your full attention to. Not when he’s looking at you like that, with genuine concern in his kind eyes. Not when he’s alive in front of you.
You throw all caution to the wind, then, and get over your initial shock to walk over to where he stands and put your arms around him. The confirmation that he is standing right there in your arms, is enough to make a shaky breath leave your lips as you place your cheek on his shoulder.
“Rex.” You whisper. The captain tenses for a second before his arms circle your waist and hugs you just as tightly. These are his brothers, you suppose, that’s why he’s letting his guard down.
When you step back, you can’t help but smile widely at the man in front of you. “Rex, I thought you were dead. You’re okay… but how?” You spot a scar on the side of his head and run your thumb carefully over it. It must be where he removed his chip from, otherwise he would’ve killed you on sight. The Captain, with his back to the rest of the group, closes his eyes for a second at your touch before he smiles softly.
“He is listed as dead according to the Empire’s records. And you are presumed dead according to your previous battalion’s reports.” Tech chimes in from his seat on the bar.
You chuckle and shake your head, still looking into the Rex’s eyes. “It’s so good to see you.”
“I could say the same thing. I thought I’d… never see you again.” His eyes scan your face, a small smile gracing his features as he does so. Then he spots your new set of clothes and raises an eyebrow at you. “Nice overalls.”
“Nice poncho.” You tease him back, motioning to the brown piece of clothing covering his armour. “My old clothes gave me away, I blend in better this way.” The shrug you offer his way is shy as his gaze never leaves you. You suppose it’s fair as yours can’t focus on anything else but him.
“It suits you.” He says softly, his head tilting slightly to the right as you share yet another long gaze.
“Well look who it is!” Wrecker laughs as he reaches the bottom of the stairs, startling you both and making you turn to look at the excited trooper. Omega follows him closely behind and seems surprised to see another clone at the bar. “Come here, Rex!” Wrecker says loudly as he moves past you and hugs the captain.
“I thought you didn’t like regs.” Omega questions with a tilt of her head but Wrecker merely laughs as he picks Rex up.
“This one we like.”
You chuckle to yourself at the look Rex sends your way before you move to stand by Echo.
“So… you and Rex are still a thing.” Echo states, keeping his voice low for the conversation to remain private. He glances to his right at you before taking a sip from his drink.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You smile as Rex kneels in front of Omega, speaking softly to her. He’s here, he’s alive.
“Oh, please. Everyone knew back then that the two of you had feelings for each other. Don’t tell me you’re still pretending you’re just friends.” Echo rolls his eyes when you look away guiltily. “I thought you would have said something by now.”
“It’s complicated, okay. There’s never any time.” You shrug, looking at the captain with longing –wishing things had been different back then.
Wrecker’s groan keeps Echo from saying anything else, and the way he clutches his head in pain makes a nervous shiver creep up the back of your neck. Rex stands up, and there’s weariness in his eyes. “What’s wrong?” His voice is low and controlled, assessing the trooper in front of him.
“Nothing it’s just a headache.” Wrecker dismisses Rex’s question, but you don’t miss the way Rex moves to stand protectively in front of Omega.
Echo speaks up next, “Which are becoming more frequent.”
This only intensifies Rex’s worry, shown in his furrowed eyebrows, while his right hand reaches for something at his side. You immediately know he’s reaching for one of his pistols. “Is that so?” Rex asks skeptically.
There’s a new tension in the room and even Omega is nervous by the sudden change. The relaxed mood and demeanour of the group is gone, and now everyone is in high alert. Rex glances at you before his left hand gently holds your forearm so he can slowly pull you behind him in a protective manner.
Tech goes on about the chips and how they’re not functional except for Crosshair’s case. But you know what Rex is thinking – it’s the same thing you’ve avoid thinking –Wrecker’s headache might be linked to the chip becoming functional.
Rex makes sure to shield both you and Omega as he addresses the group. “You’re telling me you haven’t removed your chips?”
“No.” Is all Tech says and the nonchalance in his tone strikes a nerve in the captain making you step closer to him.
“Rex it’s okay, we’re all fine. Nothing’s happened so far.”
But Rex’s demeanour has changed, he’s in battle mode now and you know it. He reaches for his pistol then, the blaster fully in display now, which prompts Hunter to try and mediate the situation and avoid any further escalation.
“Rex....” Hunter warns.
You know why Rex is so weary –he sounds almost scared. He must have witnessed soldiers with a fully functional chip too, just as you had, and that’s something that can shake up anyone. That, and the fact that you’re a Jedi, so you’re in danger as well as Omega should the chips activate. You had been alright so far, but Rex doesn’t let his guard down.
“Those chips make you a threat to everyone around you. To them.” He motions to you, his free hand grabbing your forearm protectively again before he motions to Omega. “Even her. You’re all ticking time bombs.”
When he doesn’t remove his hand from the pistol Hunter tries to calm him down again. “Take it easy, captain.” The Sargent holds out his hand as he speaks.
“Rex, it’ll be fine.” You try to reassure him, but when he looks back at you there’s concern pooling in his eyes.
“What’s in their heads is more dangerous than you can imagine.” He tells you before addressing the troopers. “I’ve seen what happens when the chip activates, and I don’t want to bury any more of our brothers, or Jedi.”
He looks at you again in the last part and you swallow thickly. Your mind takes you back to the day you escaped the clone troopers that had turned against you despite fighting for years by your side. The troopers that became your family.
“Trust me. It’s not something you can control.” There’s a pause where he looks away from the group. “I couldn’t.”
There’s a strong wave of distress, pain, and guilt coming off of Rex, all these things swimming in his mind. You place your hand on his shoulder wishing nothing more but to comfort him.  “It wasn’t your fault, Rex.” You whisper.
Rex looks over his shoulder at you and his eyes soften, as if he needed to hear those words. Then he turns back to the troopers, his voice calmer but still hiding an urgent undertone.
“Hunter, this is a risk you don’t want to take.” He says finally and you see Omega is looking up at Rex nervously, he still has a hand on the pistol. Her weariness disappears quickly though, when he stands up straight again at the nod he receives from Hunter.
“How do you suggest we get them out?” Hunter says finally, seemingly convinced, and worried about Rex’s warning. He always looks out for his brothers.
“Good question. I need some answers first.” He nods. “I’ll be in touch.”
The Bad Batch nod their heads and you drop your hand from his shoulder. You gaze away from everyone as your heart starts to beat loudly with anxiety on your chest. He’s leaving again… you just found him and he’s leaving.
Rex speaks your name quietly, stopping your train of thought. “May I have a word with you?”
You meet his eyes once more and nod. “Always.”
The captain holds your shoulder gently as he walks to the two of you further away from the group, his voice stays low as he speaks. “I…uh wish you could come with me and not stay behind. Wrecker’s chip, it worries me, especially if you’re around him. But I don’t know where I’ll have to go to get this information. I’d hate it if anyone spots you or hurts you when you’re trying to lay low.”
“I’ll be fine, Rex, please don’t worry. I have been so far, no?” You raise an eyebrow, pretending your heart isn’t hurting at the thought of him leaving. You pointedly ignore how your chest flutters at his concern too, his tone reminding you of when you had to say goodbye before missions. “Besides I can defend myself should anything happen.”
“You know that if all the chips activate there’s a big chance you can get hurt. The kid too.” Rex furrows his eyebrows, his gaze leaves yours to look at the floor instead. “Of course, I worry, even if you can handle yourself. You’re okay, after everything that happened. I thought I lost you back then… I just don’t want it to happen for real.”
“I understand. You’re lying low too, and last thing you need is a Je- well someone like me with you…” You hold his face softly and his gaze back to yours. You smile, trying to ease his worry. “We’ll have their chips out in no time. It’ll all work out, just go, I’ll be okay.”
“Please take care.” He says seriously, stepping closer to you. His right hand reaches out but stops just before touching your face, like he changed his mind at the last minute. “Take care of the kid too. And if you need anything or anything happens you can find me on this comm channel.” He gently grabs your hand holding his face and inserts a code on your vambrace, he doesn’t let go when he’s done.
“You be careful too, Rex. Please.” Your thumb rubs the back of his hand, and he responds with a squeeze. It’s like neither of you want to let go, your hands clinging to each other in fear you won’t see the other again.
The captain gives you a small smile, his beautiful eyes showing so many emotions like you’ve never seen before. Emotions you know are mirrored in your own eyes. “I will. I hope to contact you soon.”
He nods at the rest of the Bad Batch before he lets go of your hand and walks to the door. He stops by the entrance and looks at you over his shoulder once last time before he finally goes up the stairs.
You keep your gaze in the doorway for a few more minutes before turning around. When you do, the Batch is staring at you, Tech and Wrecker seem confused, but Hunter and Echo give you knowing looks that have you looking away.
“What?” You try to ignore their staring as you sit by the bar.
“You like him!” Omega says smiling and taking a seat next to you.
You’re open your mouth to say something, but Echo takes a seat next to you and says your name in a matter-of-fact tone. “You’re in love with him and so is he. It’s pretty obvious.”
“Woah!” Wrecker gasps, jumping over the counter to stand in front of you. He leans his chin on both of his hands as he looks at you in wonder, headache forgotten. “You and Rex are together?”
You shake your head. “No, we’re not together.”
“But you don’t deny being in love with him.” Hunter says, leaning against the counter on your right side, behind Omega. “When did that happen?”
“It’s story time then.” You sigh, leaning your chin on your palm as you look at your friends staring at you expectantly. When Tech reaches the spot next to Wrecker who stands in front of you, you shake your head and tell them about you and the captain.
“Rex’s Legion worked with mine in many occasions. We worked really well together and in that grew a friendship.” You look down at the blue stone of your bracelet and smile. “We kept in touch even while in different missions, spent our days off together and our feelings just... sparked.”
You can’t think of a different word to describe how fast your feelings for the captain had developed. From stolen glances to laughing with him, it all led ultimately to you falling in love with Rex. His smile, his heart, the empathy and intelligence with which he spoke and acted, captivated your heart until you knew it would forever be his.
“We haven’t said anything, and nothing ever happened. I was a general, there was a war going on, so we pretended to be just friends in front of everyone. Which is technically what we were… we never acted upon our feelings.” Another sigh leaves your lips and you’re not sure when your vision has started to blur, but you shake your head to clear your thoughts and shrug at your friends.
“There’s no war now, you can tell him how you feel.” Omega says, placing a hand on your forearm.
“The kid’s right. We haven’t seen you smile so much before. Not like you did from the moment you saw Rex again.” Hunter speaks up too. “I think you two would benefit from being honest about your feelings.”
“I tried to tell them that!” Echo  nudges your shoulder with him. “You make him happy.”
“You should tell him.” Omega repeats and you smile softly at her before looking down at the counter top.
“Perhaps.”
-----
The next time you see Rex is one rotation later, after he contacts and requests all of you to meet him in Bracca. You had given Echo the coordinates and anxiously waited next to him until your arrival while the rest of the crew watched Tech build an inhibitor chip scanner. Thankfully, wrecker’s chip hasn’t come online but the intensity of his headaches only keeps growing, which makes goosebumps appear on your arms whenever you think about it. It’s like flashbacks from Order 66 come back to you, memories of fleeing while your friends chased and shot at you. You stop the dark memories when you hear Echo say your name.
“Are you okay?” He asks with genuine concern. “You look troubled.”
You sigh and shake your head. “I’m alright. It’s just that this whole inhibitor chip thing reminds me of what happened the day the war ended.”
“You’re safe here, you know that.” His left hand reaches out to pat your shoulder. “No need to worry about Wrecker, he’ll be good as new soon.”
“I guess you’re right.” You shrug. “How much longer until we get to Bracca?”
“Shouldn’t take very long.” He says before he raises an eyebrow your way. “Why? ‘You excited to see Rex again.”
“Echo stop it.” You shake your head, but you decide to be honest with him. “But yes, I can’t believe he’s okay.”
There must be something about your tone when you tell Echo this that his gaze softens. “The two of you have been through a lot together. It was a given that you’d see each other again, fate keeps bringing you together.”
You chuckle and look out of the window. “Everything is so uncertain though.” The words are mumbled but Echo hears them.
He looks at you for a long moment before he stares straight ahead once more. “There will always be uncertainty, don’t let that stop you from doing what you want.” Is all he says, before announcing you’re dropping out of hyperspace.
The moment the Maurauder lands on Bracca, you can spot Rex’s ship and go down the hatch behind Hunter to meet the captain outside. He meets you halfway with a smile on his face and you stop on your tracks for a moment because of the lovely sight in front of you. The sun is bathing him in warmth, his eyes turning another beautiful shade of brown with it. You also can’t keep your heart from skipping a beat at the familiar sight of him in uniform, his helmet held by his side.
“Right on time.” Rex says shaking Hunter’s hand. “General.” He approaches you and offers a nod –you can’t help but to roll your eyes with a smile.
“The Jedi Order is no more Rex, you don’t have to call me General anymore.” You shrug looking into his eyes. “Besides, I like it better when you use my name.”
Rex chuckles at your words and scratches the back of his neck in a flustered manner. “It’s a habit I guess.”
“How is a junk planet gonna help us?” Wrecker asks when he approaches the group, making everyone look back at him first and then to Rex for the answer.
“Bracca may not be much to look at, but it has exactly what we need. Follow me.” The captain puts his helmet back on and starts to lead the way through the junk until you’re climbing what seems the underside of a wrecked ship, the height of the metal scrap gives you a perfect view of a Jedi Cruiser sitting in the distance.
“That is why we’re here.” Rex states, pointing at the cruiser. “I had my chip removed on a Jedi Cruiser just like that.”
“Then why did we land all the way over here?” Wrecker asks.
You ponder Wrecker’s question in your mind for a few seconds and conclude that there might be something or someone out there you must hide from. If you had flown the Marauder directly into the Jedi Cruiser, they would’ve notice you right away.
“Get down!” Hunter says, after spotting something in the distance. Everyone crouches to keep out of sight and Rex when you follow Hunter’s gaze you confirm what you had just concluded.
“That’s why.” Rex points at two scrappers standing on a platform. “Scrapper Guild, they control the entire planet.”
Nobody says anything else as you walk to the Jedi Cruiser with new resolve not to be spotted. The familiar sight brings fresh memories to mind, the old briefings, the trooper fights in the cafeteria, that you may or may not have aided, and the missions with the captain currently leading the way. As you get closer to the ship, Rex tells Omega about its model and how it was one of the first ever produced, which amazes the young clone. This seems to entertain Wrecker as well who can’t help but joke about Rex’s shared information.
“First of the line, just like you. Huh Rex?” The trooper chuckles at his own joke and you shake your head, walking along until you catch up with Rex.
“I trust you mission went smoothly?” You ask him, squinting your eyes at the sun.
The captain’s helmet looks your way for a second before it tilts to the side as he shrugs –a body language you’re familiar with. “You could say that. It wasn’t easy but I got the information I needed.”
You remember the pain and guilt that came off him in waves back at the bar and you frown. Unsure of what he went through but remembering what he mentioned about not burying anymore of his brothers, you doubt the captain is as calm and collected as he appears on the outside. So you ask, “And how are you?”
Rex sighs, “Life… is different now, being on the run, but I’ll get used to it. What’s most important now is to make sure the Empire doesn’t get away with what they did to us, to the Jedi…” He straightens his shoulders and looks ahead but you know him, the foundation of what he fought for just crumbled to the ground one day and it must have affected him more than he leads on.
“How did you find out about the chips?” You ask trying to change the subject for the time being. The last thing you want is to rub salt on a fresh wound. You have plenty of those yourself.
“Fives tried to warn me about the chips, but I didn’t understand at the time.” He shakes his head and looks over to Echo who has fallen into step next to the two of you.
“It’s still hard to believe now.” Echo tells Rex, and you know he’s trying to let Rex know that it’s okay if he didn’t either when Fives told him, something you know Rex would hate himself for– even now. You give Echo a comforting smile, placing your hand on his shoulder at the mention of his close friend.
Everyone reaches the cruiser without another word, and as all of you wander through debris filled hallways, Echo and Rex talk about how he got his chip out. You listen in silence, staying alert of your surroundings while still going over the thoughts circling your mind. You remember Rex leaving with to Mandalore Ahsoka– that was the last time you saw him– and you wonder if Ahsoka helped him with the chip removal. If she did, you hope she’s alive so you can thank her if you ever get the chance. The conversation dies once again when you reach the end of the hallway, as it is divided in half by a chasm leading towards murky water.
“The medical bay is on the other end.” Rex says before he spots a long cable to his right. He looks at you then, and when your eyes meet, you get an idea of what he’s thinking.  “Wrecker grab that cable.”
“Why? Wha-What are you going to do with it?” The trooper asks nervously, and you sympathize with his fear of heights. He won’t like this plan.
“We have to cross to the other side.” You say, taking the cable and calling on the Force to jump across to the other part of the hallway. You secure the cable on your side while the others do so on theirs before everyone starts to cross.
Rex is the first one, followed by Hunter, Echo, Tech, and Omega. Wrecker is the last one, and very hesitant to cross but Omega’s encouragement seems to convince him to get on the cable. The problem though is that the cable isn’t strong enough and it comes loose on one side. Suddenly, Wrecker is hanging in the air his foot caught on the cable while something else stirs on the water.
“Are you alright?” Hunter asks, his voice worried at the sight of bubbles coming from the bottom of the water.
“No! It smells awful down here.” Comes Wrecker’s response a beat later.
The bubbles seem to become larger before they completely disappear. “I have a bad feeling about this.” You say, growing at the water. There’s eerie silence that follows, before a creature with teeth and tentacles tries to get a hold of Wrecker.
“PULL!” Omega says, shining her flashlight at Wrecker, before grabbing a hold of the cable to help the rest of you pull.
You use all your strength to pull him up, but the he creature takes him under the water, making all of you fall to your knees. Worried about Wrecker, you do the only thing that comes to your mind, you jump and dive in to help him. The water is cold against your skin, the temperature shocking your body before you focus on trying to see Rex under the murky water. Once you spot him, you use your lightsaber to cut him loose from the creature before the two of you grab the cable and emerge with a gasp.
“Climb!” You tell him, and he nods, beginning his ascent with the help of this brothers at the top. You follow suit, trying to get as far away from the water as possible.
Once you reach the hallway at the top you collapse on the ground for a moment, breathing heavily as the adrenaline in your body starts to lower.
“Are you two okay?” Hunter asks you, worry in his voice.
“We’re fine.” Wrecker tells his brother, and the response makes some tension leave the Sergeant’s shoulders.
“Makes you miss battling clankers doesn’t it.” Rex jokes and you can’t help to chuckle as you stand up.
“You can say that again.” You tell him, before everyone continues to the medical bay that is straight ahead.
“This will do nicely.” Rex says, shinning his flashlight around and finding a lot of medical equipment lying around.
“I wouldn’t call this med bay a sterile environment.” Tech mumbles, spotting tiny creatures on the walls and rust everywhere.
“Do you prefer to use the one on kamino?” Rex asks sarcastically and you nudge his elbow with yours, to keep him from saying anything else. Tech was only observing, of course he’ll comment on how dirty the room is for a surgery.
“Hey…” You reprimand Rex softly and he chuckles.
Tech stands up straighter at Rex’s question, knowing no good would come from the Kaminoan facility. Only your capture or execution. “This will do nicely.” Tech says, changing his mind about the salubrity of the place.
Everyone starts to settle into the room after that, Hunter placing Wrecker’s gear on one side of the room and Echo bringing all systems back on like for the surgery. Tech keeps himself preoccupied with his scanner, putting it near Wrecker’s to know the exact location of the chip.
While he does this, you can see Omega is being troubled by something. She approaches Hunter to let her concerns be known. “Hunter, just because the surgery worked on Rex, doesn’t mean it’s safe.” She holds her arms around herself, looking for some sort of comfort. “This is dangerous.”
You approach her and so does Rex, who’s the one who speaks up next. “It’s more dangerous to leave the chips in.” He says and puts his helmet down. Meanwhile you sigh, either of the two options make Omega nervous, she’s worried about her family.
Hunter places a hand on her shoulder, his eyes honest and open to her worries. “We have to do this. It’s worth the risk.”
You step closer to her crouching to be at her height level and be able to put your arm around her. “And what if it’s dangerous?” Omega asks. “I would be left here with no one.”
The young girl looks away, her eyes are starting to glaze over with tears at the thought of losing the Bad Batch, the ones who took her in. Omega is looking for reassurance from Hunter, not you, so you stay quiet and rub your hand up and down her arm for comfort. The sergeant seems to ponder his next words before his eyes leave no room for further question as he says:
“We’re not going anywhere Omega.” His hand finds its way back to her shoulder. “You’re stuck with us for the long run.”
You smile softly at the two of them before you stand up and see Rex looking at the scene in front of him with a pleased smile on his face. The captain is probably surprised to see this softer side of Hunter, that Echo had mentioned before started when Omega became part of the Bad Batch.
“Get that away from me.” You hear Wrecker complain as Tech continues to scan him, and his anger starts to be felt through the Force. It makes you frown.
“Something’s happening.” Omega says, eyebrows furrowed at the look in Wrecker’s face.
“We need to speed things up and you have to go somewhere else.” Rex tells you, his eyes scanning your face and finding clear worry in your features.  “You’ve all been lucky so far, very few clones were immune to the effects of Order 66.”
Hunter sighs as he leaves Wrecker with Tech and walks with Rex to where Echo is prepping the machine. “When the regs attacked the Jedi General on Kaller, we didn’t understand why. But at least we helped the padawan escape.”
You see Wrecker clutch his head in pain, his groans becoming more frequent as the Hunter and Rex speak. You sense anger and fear coming off Wrecker, both of them conflicting over each other as if he’s fighting back the chip’s command. Your eyes widen then, and you address Hunter and Rex when you speak.
“You should stop talking, it’s making things worse for Wrecker.” You grimace when you feel his pain through the Force, it’s sharp, like an open wound just above your ear. You need to help him, now.
“How much longer until everything’s ready?” You ask worriedly.
“Not much longer.” Says Echo, tapping the controls next to a machine for a couple more seconds. “Done.”
But it’s too late, Wrecker had become quiet a few seconds before and when he speaks up again he doesn’t sound like himself.
“You’re in direct violation of order 66.” All of you stand there in shock as Wrecker seizes Tech by the neck, his pupils dilated and a terrifying look on his face. When he throws Tech against a wall, who crumples to the ground, all of you switch to battle mode.
You’re about to reach for your lightsaber when Rex turns to you, keeping you out of sight. “You have to go somewhere else before he sees you.” His eyes are full of fear and though it hurts, you shake your head no.
“He already knows, I’m here. We have to help him.” You say, looking behind Rex’s shoulder just in time to see Wrecker aim his blaster at the rest of you. “Get down!”
All of you dive behind a piece of metal that had fallen from the ceiling, Hunter holding Omega close to him to keep her from getting hurt. Three shots barely miss you and Echo who’s crouching on your left.
“He’s going to destroy the equipment!” Echo tells the five of you, reading his own pistol. As Wrecker continues to shoot the room, you realize that he’s right and if he keeps blasting the equipment, none of the clones will be able to get their chips out.
With a deep breath you summon the bravery your known for, the best option is to draw him out, and who better to do that than yourself. You stand up.
“Hey!” You yell and ignite your lightsaber. The green light floods the dark room as you speak. “You want to kill a Jedi, huh? Come and get me then!”
You use your saber to deflect the blaster shots Wrecker sends your way as you run out of the medical bay. Deciding to put some distance between Wrecker and the room, you turn left at the doorway.
“No!” You hear Rex calling your name. If you had told him what you were planning to do first, he would have objected. Now you’re certain he’s going to be coming after you, always willing to help.
As you keep deflecting blaster shots and using your speed to your advantage, you hear the troopers come running behind the two of you. Wrecker is relentless in his chase, grabbing anything he can and throwing it your way to slow or knock you down. Whichever works best you suppose. One of those objects though end up being a hug metal beam that was sticking out from a wall, which Wrecker is quick to grab and send it flying your way.
Sensing this though you turn around and call of the Force to stop it. The piece of metal is suspended in the air for a moment before you push it towards Wrecker, knocking him down and buying you some time. You duck behind some debris, and peak through a space in between them when you hear the trooper stand up again.
It is then that you spot Rex behind Wrecker’s shoulder, he seems to be planing something with Echo. When you meet his gaze, he nods, and you get an idea of his plan. You leap out of your hiding place and run towards Wrecker, at the last minute you duck and slide under his legs–nearly missing being grabbed by him. The result is what you were hoping for, you got him to look over in Rex’s direction.
You see movement behind Wrecker again and realize that Echo circled the medical bay to approach him from the back. The Bad Batcher, however, spots Echo and uses all his strength to send him flying towards you and Rex– who stuns his friend instead of Wrecker and falls limply to the floor. The force with which you were knocked down leaves no air in your lungs for a moment and you feel your arm sting from a long cut you got from a piece of metal.
Wrecker looms over the three of you, and you try to reach for your lightsaber to defend your friends but it’s nowhere in sight. You’re about to reach for Rex’s pistol when Hunter jumps on Wrecker and tries to help you by keeping him in a chokehold. Wrecker’s strength is quick to overpower his, and soon enough Hunter is being chocked by his mind-controlled brother. As Hunter clutches at his neck desperately, trying to loosen Wreckers’ grip, there’s a sound of a blaster shot going off. It’s not from Rex’s pistol you’re holding but from a gun Omega has taken a hold of.
Her face turns into a scared expression the moment Wrecker starts running after her–all four of you forgotten for the time being. You ignore the pain in your arm and sit up, checking on the Echo and Rex who seem okay but still unconscious.
“You’ll be fine.” You whisper to Rex, leaving his pistol by his hand and seeing your lightsaber a couple of feet away. You use the Force to bring it to your hand before looking back to the three men lying unconscious on the floor. “Hang on boys, I have to save Omega.”
With that you take off running in the same direction as Wrecker and Omega, and as you round a corner you see that Wrecker is inside what seems like old living quarters. He is moving things around, looking for the young clone, who he finds hiding under another piece of metal. You run towards them then, Wrecker unable to see you because he’s got his back turned to you, blaster pointed at Omega. Your heartbeat is erratic as you step in front of him putting his sole attention on you and not Omega.
You see his finger about to trigger the blaster and call on the Force to keep him from moving. He yells in frustration at not being able to shoot his blaster but still tries to, making you use all your strength to hold him back. “This is your family Wrecker! Your friends! No chip can change that, you need to fight it.”
“Good soldiers follow orders.” He mutters as he fights the Force, and when you can’t hold him back any longer he yells and forcefully tries to take a step closer to you, making you lose your focus and fall backwards.
Omega yells your name when Wrecker raises his blaster once more, ready to shoot you, but in that moment he’s stunned and falls to the floor. You lift your gaze from Wrecker to the doorway and find Rex standing the clutching his head, and his pistol raised in the stunned Bad Batcher direction.
You sit there, heart beating loudly and hands shaking. Wrecker almost shot you and you almost died had it not been for Rex. You look at him with wide eyes and he must see the fear in them because he’s rushing forward in a heartbeat. He approaches the place where you and Omega are currently sitting in shock and kneels in front of Omega first.
“Are you hurt?” He asks, looking over the kid’s face, searching for any sign of injury. When Omega shakes her head no and crawls over to where Wrecker is lying on the floor, he brings his attention back to you.
Rex’s hands gently take a hold your face, his eyes scanning all your features almost as if he’s making sure you’re really there in front of him. Your eyes begin to water at the utter relief you see in his eyes, your heart bursting with love for him.
“Thank you.” You whisper, it’s so quiet you’re not sure he hears it. But he does. Rex wipes one of your tears away and closes the distance between both of you.
His lips touch yours and it’s like everything falls into place and disappears all at once. You’re so relieved to be alive and so caught up in the love you can feel coming off him, that everything around you disappears for just a second. It’s a short and desperate press of lips, the two of you looking for some reassurance and getting to say things you can’t with words. A few seconds later, Rex pulls away.
“That was an incredibly reckless and terrible plan. Are you okay?” His voice trembles the tiniest bit, giving away just how nervous he had been to see you stand in front of Wrecker, ready to receive a blaster shot.
“Yeah.” You whisper looking into his eyes but then you remember your arm. “Well, no. I think I’m bleeding.”
“Your arm!” Omega gasps, kneeling next to you and looking at Rex with worry.
The captain follows your gaze, and his eyes widen at the sight of the long gash on your arm. “We need to take care of this.” He says –his voice is serious, and he frowns when you shake your head.
“We have to help Wrecker, first.” You insist. “This can wait. Come on, let’s get him back to the med bay.”
The two of you take one of Wrecker’s arms, throwing it over your shoulders and holding his weight to get him out of the room and back to the operating table. Omega leads the way, looking back at her friend worriedly every few seconds. As you reach the doorway you meet Hunter and Echo who are now awake and help you the rest of the way. Tech has resumed his post in front of the controls, most likely readying the machine for the surgery.
“I’ve just brought the systems back online. You can put him on the table now.” He says, and you don’t miss the way he glances nervously towards Wrecker. Everyone is worried about their friend, the ray of sunshine of the group who turned into a completely different person by a tiny chip. You bite your lips with worry when the machine starts to work and are brought out of your own head by Rex’s gentle touch on your shoulder.
“Let’s get this cleaned up, yeah?”
You nod, and move to sit on a crate while Rex gets bandages, cleaning wipes and bacta cream, Echo had in his backpack. You look at the cut once more, it has stopped bleeding but it stings when you move it.
When Rex comes back he sits in front of you and you notice the way he doesn’t meet your eyes. “May I?” He asks, gesturing to your arm which he takes when you nod your head yes.
His hold is gentle while he works. He takes a wipe to begin disinfecting the wound which draws a hiss from your lips. Rex grimaces before apologizing, resuming his work with furrowed eyebrows. You see his eyes try to meet yours but him tearing his gaze away before he’s able to look at you and you frown. You know that look, his tense posture and the frown on his lips. He’s blaming himself and you won’t stand for it.
“Rex?” You ask softly and he stops his work for a second before resuming. “Stop it, it’s not your fault.” You chastise him gently, you know what his attitude means. He’s thinking of all the possible ways he could have prevented you getting hurt and hating himself for it.
“It doesn’t matter, I hate seeing you hurt.” He sighs, taking the bacta patch and securing it over the wound before wrapping the bandage around your arm.
“Would you at least look at me?” You ask smiling at his stubbornness. There’s a second of silence before he finally meets your eyes. “Only you would blame yourself for a cut in my arm after saving my life, Rex.”
He chuckles, not helping it, at  teasing smile on your face. “I just want you safe.” His hand reaches out to cup your cheek, his thumb rubbing it softly.
“And I am.” You say and motion your arm. “I’m also patched up too, thanks to you.”
The captain chuckles again and brings his hand back to his side. He seems calmer now, with less tension on his shoulders.
“Is it supposed to take this long?” Echo asks Rex, bringing you two back to the present.
Rex stands up and offers you a hand which you take to stand up too. Then, Rex let’s go and moves to stand next to echo by the table. “I’m not sure. I’ve never been on this end of the surgery.”
You go to stand next to Omega, who has a worried look on her face as the procedure goes on. You place a hand on her shoulder and offer a smile. “He’ll be okay.”
It doesn’t take any longer than 2 minutes for Tech to announce that the surgery was complete and successful. However, when it takes Wrecker longer to wake up the Bad Batch gets anxious, worried about their friend’s vital signs. Rex tries to tell Hunter to take Omega upstairs to get some air but just as you’re about to shake your head, Omega refuses to leave Wrecker’s side. The two of them are almost inseparable, you know she will wait for as long as it takes her friend to wake up.
Knowing this family needs some time to be together as they wait by Wrecker, you bump your shoulder against Rex’s to get his attention.
“Can we talk?” You ask him, motioning to the door with your head.
The captain smiles, copying the same answer you gave him back at Cid’s bar. “Always.”
You return his smile with one of your own, which turns shy when it’s only the two of you heading out of the door and towards another corridor for privacy. You have to tell him, you’ve wanted to for a long time and now your heart is desperately telling you to be honest be brave and love him openly, and let yourself be loved. Times of uncertainty shouldn’t hold you back they should help you make the leap, if youre not promised tomorrow then you’ll live for today. When you speak up, your voice is quiet but full of pent up emotion ready to burst.
“Rex, there are many things I want to talk about but this is what I need to say first…”
The look in his eyes brings some tears to your eyes, concern, and love in the beautiful brown that its unique to you.
“I was so sad because of everything I lost, I believed to have lost you. I couldn’t handle knowing that I never told you I love you. Because I do, beyond I can put into words. I… I’m so glad you’re okay and here with me.” You let your tears fall, and your smile takes over your face. Now he knows for sure and that’s all you’ve wanted.
You see him process all your words, eyes showcasing a flurry of emotions, until he reaches out and brings you close to him in a tight hug. It’s impossible not to sink into his embrace, much like you did back at that bar, your arms holding him close to you. Like part of you thinks he’s going to disappear.
You don’t think you’ll ever forget the way he whispers I love you in your ear or the way his lips move against your cheek as he speaks softly. “I’ve wanted to tell you for so long but I– well I didn’t think the time was right until… until I thought you died and realized the right time had always been there.”
“It’s alright, we’re both alright.” You whisper shaking your head against his shoulder.
“Yes, I guess we are.” The captain says, pulling back just enough to look into your eyes. When they meet, they’re both glazed over with emotion and when your eyes drift down to his lips he doesn’t hesitate to lean in and press them to yours.
This time, the kiss is slow, not solely out of reassurance but also out of love and want. What you’ve both waited for, to show, to say and to feel, the reaffirmation of a love that seems to endure even the hardest challenges. Your hands go from his shoulders to his hair, where you let your touch go over the scar on the left side of his temple– the reminder that he’s complete himself now. When you pull away, you let your lips steal one more kiss, a soft laugh escaping you. Rex chuckles before speaking once more.
“Would you come with me? Once we help them.” His forehead is against yours, as the words are whispered between the both of you. A wave of anxiousness comes from him, and you hear it in his voice as well. He thinks you might reject his proposal, as if your heart wouldn’t shatter the second the two of you part. “I know you think it’s dangerous for me to be with you, but I want you by my side whatever the danger may be.”
He’s right, only a rotation ago you were thinking of the danger you put everyone in because you’re a rogue Jedi. You were willing to go live on your own and work for Cid to make ends meet, all so that everyone else can be safe. But that was before you knew Rex was alive, and before you realized that the danger is worth it if you get to be together. There is no time to waste, especially not with the claws of the Empire trying to grab you anywhere you go.
“Yes.” You whisper back. “Of course, I’ll go with you.”
Rex’s smile is blinding when you both take a small step back, and his hand stays in yours on your way back to the med bay. Wrecker’s just woken up and the relief of everyone in the room and in your chest is so big it brings fresh tears to your eyes.
“One down, three more to go.” Rex smiles, holding up Tech’s scanner.
The rest of the surgeries go as smoothly as the first, and you roll your eyes jokingly at Echo when he comments how it was about time– he spotted  you and Rex holding hands. Once everyone is almost ready to leave, except for Hunter who had gone upstairs to get some air with Rex, you address the friends that have become a small family to you in a short time.
“Guys, I have something to tell you…” You fiddle with your fingers looking down at them before bringing you gaze back to them. There’s a lump forming in your throat, even though going with Rex is something you really want. “Rex, he offered me to go with him and I said yes. So it’s time to say goodbye I guess.”
Your vision blurs as you look from one trooper to another, when it lands on Echo and he gives you an encouraging smile, you break. Taking three steps towards him you put your arms around your friend, someone who’s become a real support from the first time you met. A brother.
Echo hugs you back and there’s a small smile on his face. “We’ll miss you but you two belong together, good luck.”
You wipe your tears and nod. “I’ll miss you too. So much.”
Wrecker gives you a crushing hug which you gladly return, glad to have him back. All laughs and good times. Tech hugs you too much to your surprise before Omega takes a hold of your hand.
“Will we see you again?” She asks. There are tears in her eyes and similar ones appear on yours.
“Of course you will.” You say softly, crouching in front of her. “This goodbye isn’t forever. I’d miss you too much.”
Omega nods before hugging you, her arms going around your shoulders. “Goodbye.”
When you let go and look back at the group, you wipe away your tears and give them a final nod. “Whatever you need, you let me know.”
With that you make your way to the south exit where Hunter and Rex stand, saying their own goodbyes. You smile at the carefree look on Rex’s face, he’s more relaxed now, happier, even though you sense much grief in him.
“Stay out of trouble Captain.” Hunter says, offering Rex his hand which he takes and shakes.
“Funny. I was going to say the same thing.” Rex teases back before letting go of the Sergeant’s hand and spotting you. “Ready to go?”
“Ready as ever.” You smile and then look at Hunter. The one who let you join the Bad Batch and offered you shelter. “Thank you Hunter, for everything.”
“That’s what family is for.” Hunter nods, and then becomes surprised when you hug him. You feel a wave of gratitude coming off of him. “You need anything, you know how to find us.”
“And you know how to find us.” You step back and return his nod.
Rex comes to stand next to you, his helmet back on his head. It brings memories of old times and you can’t help a big smile from appearing on your face again.
“Where are we off to now?” You ask Rex, your hand finding his like a magnet.
Though you can’t see his face you hear the smirk on his voice as he starts to lead the way. “You’ll see, love.”
So you follow him, down into the fog and all the way back to his ship where you know new adventures await you.

[ My Jonas Brothers : Chasing Happiness Experience ]
introduction: if you know me, you know how much if a Jonas Brothers fan i am. yes, the first band i ever REALLY got into was The Beatles. but the Jonas Brothers was a boyband i really did fall in love with. we all had that one band from our childhood that switched everything up. mine were the Jonas Brothers. the way the directioners loved One Direction was my love for the Jonas Brothers. when i say “the boys,” i mean Nick, Kevin, and Joe. they’re my “the boys.” if that makes sense.
history:  i remember the day i got into them. i was 10 years old and it was during the summertime. i had just finished watching ‘taking 5.’ a movie about the click five. the girls in the movie had posters and cut outs of the click five on their wall from posters and magazines. at that age, i was already collecting TigerBeat, Popstar!, J-14 magazines. i was too plugged in to the pop culture and the teeny bopper life. my dad was supportive. i was somewhat, inspired, when i watched that movie and checked out my magazines. i found the jonas brothers. i knew OF them and the song SOS and When You Look Me In The Eyes but nothing else. i had a personal computer in my room back then and newly plugged in internet connection. it started with music videos, and then the stupid videos they had on their yt channel, and i just couldn’t stop watching their videos. i watched all their live chats and interviews. i fell in love LIKE THAT. it was the first i ever obsessed about a boyband like this. a boyband in MY LEAGUE, you know what i mean? i obsessed over hannah montana and lizzie mcguire. but it wasn’t LIKE THIS. i grabbed my magazines and starting taping the Jonas posters on the walls. my routine was to watch all their videos everyday. i even went as far as reading fanfiction on youtube. YES. fanfiction USED to be on YOUTUBE. and that’s when crushes began. my bias was joe, at first, of course. then i slowly crept onto liking nick more. until he was my ACTUAL favorite. nick was my first love, i’m claiming it. the boy had me feeling ALL SORTS OF THINGS. the boy had me WRITING AT 11.
influence: they were a huge influence on me. other than taylor swift and my dad getting me to pick up a guitar and learning how to play it, the Jonas Brothers wanted me to fulfill the dream. their influence on me was HUGE. it was so big that they were my first fashion icons. i broke gender stereotypes (at least in my circle) at the age of 11, you guys. i wore skinny jeans, converse, collared shirts and neckties all the time. they had me wearing denim and corduroy and my parents were so into me being into fashion at that age cause they were all about that in their youth. i mastered dressing like a guy at the age of 11. it just became a thing growing up. cause that’s where i’m most comfortable. i remember when the JONAS show came out on disney channel and the first episode was of nick having a love interest, i cried.
other facts:
i collected all kinds of jonas brothers paraphernelia as a child.
other than the magazines, i had merch. i remember begging my mom to get me jonas brothers merch from their actual website. when she finally gave in, i was ecstatic.
i had a jonas brothers t shirt and a necklace (it was a guitar pick with their logo on it)
i also had a jonas brothers mp3 player that i bought when i was in tampa.
i’ve been to their first concert in the philippines. I REMEMBER HOW I TOLD MY PARENTS. i ran to them and said “THE JONAS BROTHERS ARE COMING HERE” and i didn’t even have to ask cause they already knew.
my bedroom walls were FILLED with their posters. i had over 150 posters on my walls.
i cut out their photos from magazines and covered my notebooks and pens with them. i sold a couple at school, too.
you caNT BELIEVE HOW MUCH I FREAKED OUT WHEN I FOUND OUT ABOUT CAMP ROCK. when it came out in the states, my dad bought a copy of the dvd and i was SO SO SO EXCITED. that’s why i love home made spaghetti so much because it was the meal i was eating when i watched camp rock in my old bedroom for the first time. i squealed half the time.
them being christian played such a big part in my life because my mom was a strict-ass hardcore christian. and since they wore purity rings, my mom got me a purity ring, too. at 11. which now, seems rather stupid. for me, at least.
nick jonas & the administration is still one of my favorite albums. HE REALLY DO BE MAKIN ME FEEL SOME TYPE OF WAY. for real though.
i really watched Married To Jonas, Kevin and Danielle’s reality show. it was NOT great but i watched it.
i even watched some of nick’s movies and i didn’t like any of them really but i enJOYED NICK’S SCREEN TIME
i did not really stray away from loving them. but i did turn into a teenager. i got into other things and gained a different circle of friends. it was different, okay? i couldn’t just be in love with a rock star anymore. HAHAHA. there were real life boys i kissed now. but still, i did not obsess over anything like that ever again.
the break up:  i was in high school when they broke up. and even if i had not been keeping tabs on them and watching their every release, i cried really really fucking hard when they announced their break up. i cried so hard that i missed school that day. i was heart broken. and it might not make sense because they are brothers and they’ll really ~never~ break up, it still hurt.
when i found out about Chasing Happiness, i was stoked. of course, i already knew they had returned back together as the Jonas Brothers. after all the experimenting with other things, they really did return to their roots.
reaction about chasing happiness:
oh my GOD
BABY JONAS BROTHERS :(
FUCK. 6 MINUTES INTRO PLAYING
baby nick in les mis :(
okAY SO IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY
okay so the purity rings were a fucking joke i dont feel so guilty about it anymore
niley :( lowkey cried to niley at a young age but whatever
fuCK EVERYONE WHO MADE FUN OF KEVIN. HE’S AMAZING
please be mine :(
crying
joe and nick making fun of kevin on the phone with danielle
joe calling danielle “kevin’s future wife” :(
JUST FRIENDS :(
THE NICK J SHOW
camp rock :(
more crying really
YEAR 3000 :(
okay so basically, it was a ride of emotions.
it really was though. i also felt like i time travelled. LITERALLY. it felt like i was in my old room again watching the Jonas Brothers on old YouTube. you know. before google bought the damn thing. but for real, it felt that way. it felt like i was reconnecting with my old self, too. the 10 year old me.
no, wait. even better. it felt like i was reuniting with old friends. the scene when the 3 of them were just drinking and reminiscing and confessing about the old times was so intimate that i felt like i was there. everything they talked about (except for hating each other and how they ACTUALLY broke up), i knew about. they were my whole life back then, really. it really felt like a reunion. like them getting back together meant we were getting back together. the love for the Jonas Brothers. my fangirling over them. god, it sounds so cheesy when i say it out loud. but it really does feel like that.
it was so familiar and so foreign to me at the same time. they talked about everything they used to never talk about back then. they just let it out in the open, really. and i saw how much they’ve grown. and i saw how much i’ve grown. how i am far from who i was at 10 years old.
but when they sang ‘please be mine’ along with the old video of them singing it, i felt myself reconnecting with my younger self. i felt her smile at me and hold my hand telling me that the good will always resurface. and fuck yeah, i got that out of the Jonas Brothers. they’re the part of me that remains innocent. they’re a part of me that remains untouched and untampered with. because my heart was whole when i loved them first. and i think it’ll remain that way.
it hit me harder than i thought it would. and i knew it would hit me. the documentary, i mean. it was beautiful. downright, beautiful. they’re a huge part of who i am today. and i am so so so proud of that.

Pairings: Jeno x Jaemin // reunited friends
Genre: Angst // the one that got away
Word count: 1.4k
A/N: mentions death, Read in Jeno’s Point of view
Ahhh finally I am home. After 6 months I am back Korea! I have been away for the last six months for my internship in Los Angeles. I have been waiting for this day as long as I have step foot in Los Angeles. Don’t get me wrong LA was amazing. It was like a paradise for my art dream. I am a Multimedia arts graduate and I was lucky enough to be offered an internship in LA.
I have everything planned for today. As soon I get off the plane I planned to visit my best friend, Jaemin. I was specifically looking forward to this day because finally, I realized that I love my best friend more than a friend. I was too stubborn to realize that I actually fell for him already, I can’t believe I had to be away from him just to realize that. I decided that it is just about the right time for me to admit what I have been feeling for him.
Of course I cant meet him with an empty hand so I planned to pass by a flower shop and buy his favorite tulips. I remember he would always buy tulips and place them on his dorm room, he says they give life in his room. I entered the flower shop and spotted pink and blue tulips, I can’t help it but smile at the flowers, he had pink and blue hair for the longest time and it suited him well. I grabbed the tulips and asked the florist to packed it. The florist handed me the bouquet of tulips and asked “for your special someone sir?” I answered with a smile and said yes. “One lucky human being are they”. I smiled and her and stepped out of the shop.
Jaemin is at Busan and Busan is roughly 2 hours from here. I can’t help myself to be worried I wonder what will his reaction be. He would probably laugh at me and tease me after all Jaemin is that type of person who likes to tease. I have met him in high school we were classmates back then, seatmates in fact. We instantly became buddies we would always spend our time after class on computer cafes and he always sucks. Now that I think of it I love seeing him loose because he puts on that pout look and sulk which I find adorable. After high school we decided to attend the same university even though we had different courses we would still meet up and hang-out. Who would have thought I would fell in love with my own best friend for years. Besides, we both had our own girlfriends during our freshman and sophomore years. I guess we grew tired of dating and jumping from different relationships at the start of junior year. I remember I asked him once why isn’t he looking for a girlfriend at the moment he responded to me with “It’s tiring~ besides I don’t feel lonely since i have you Jeno”. Jaemin like to play with his words and tease people around and these types of response from him does not bother me until that day. I started to have weird thoughts and feelings that I do not want to see Jaemin with anyone else.  I was stubborn to admit it back then I knew I was straight, well turns out I’m wrong.
After the two-hour-long drive, I have finally arrived. I look down at the tulips beside me and smiled. “Jaemin-ah I’m finally here. I hope you accept my feeling for you”. I don’t know why I am so nervous maybe because I want to know that you feel the same way. I stepped down of the car trying to gather all the confidence I have. A little more steps and I am already facing you. I can’t help it but as soon as I see your smiling face through the glass tears started to roll down. I can not even breathe properly all I can hear are sobs from me. ‘Ughhh this is embarrassing I should be admitting my feelings for you but here I am crying in front of you’. I tried my best to compose my self before I finally talk to you. ‘Jaemin, nana I am finally back’ i tried my best to flash the eyesmile you liked cause I know you’ll just laugh at me if I am crying. “I brought you tulips cause i remembered how much you love them. Jaemin I am finally back and LA was great! I know you’ll love all the fruits there they were fresh and amazing. I often visit the beach and tried to surf. Remember when we went to Busan for the holidays and we tried jet surfing HAHAHA good times right. You know what sometimes I would see celebrities on the street in LA most especially near the Hollywood boulevard. Los Angeles is amazing and beautiful I wish I could have shared it with you. I wanted to go back there with you… Jaemin why didn’t you wait for me? I have so much regrets now. Jaemin I love you more that you could ever imagine. I wish I have told you sooner, I wish I could have held your hands, bring you to romantic dates, genuinely said I love you too you. Jaemin I love you so much I was too stubborn to realize that you were actually the one who taught me how to love. You were the one who painted colors on my life ever since we were high school why did you have to leave so soon??? I didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to you at least the last time I never said goodbye because I know I’ll be seeing you again, turns out I’m wrong. Jaemin I love you so so so much.’
I lifted up my hands and touch the glass before you, trying to cup your face through the picture in front of your urn. Tears still rolling down my face I looked at your eyes ‘I hope they give you lots of coffee there, I hope you have a lot of peaches too maybe you could grow some huh. Jaemin, look out for me huh. I’ll see you soon angel’. For the last time I gave you a weak smile dragging my feat against the marbled floor not even trying to hold back my tears anymore.
As I got out of the chapel I heard my name “Jeno?”. I looked up to see Heachan Jaemin and I’s close friend. “I didn’t know you’re back!” he welcomed me and gave me a hug. ‘I just got  back earlier this morning’. “Ohh i see I suppose you have visited him already” Haechan said he probably noticed how puffy my eyes from crying were. “Jeno, before Jaemin left he handed me this he told me to give it to you once you’re back” Haechan then handed me an envelope. “He is in a much better place now”. He patted my shoulders and I gave him A weak smile. ‘Thank you, Haechan, I’ll go ahead’. “Oh yeah okay let us catch up soon huh” I gave him a nod and headed back to my car.
Slamming my back against the back rest of my seat I looked at the envelope Heachan handed me. I opened it and my tears start forming, Are my eyes aren’t tired yet? I unfolded the letter and see Jaemin hand writing.
Dearest Jeno,
If your reading this I probably left already please please don’t be sad TT TT that is not the purpose of my letter. First  of all I wanna say sorry I couldn’t wait for you already. I am writing to you since I wanted to tell you something I have been meaning to tell. Jeno I love you. I love you so much!!! Ever since I have met you brighter days started to happen. Every moment with you was full of happiness and laughter. I didn’t want to tell you as soon I have caught feeling because I was scared that I might get rejected. I wanted to keep our friendship instead. I tried to ignore the feelings I have for you But they never really left me.
Jeno I hope all the best for you. I whish all the happiness for you in this world. Please be happy for me okay I assure you I am so in a much better place right now. Please grant me this wish okay. All i want right now is for you to be happy and successful reach your dreams for me.
I love you so much Jeno, my best friend, my partner in crime, my love. I will see you again.

Top ten KH3 moments?
***SPOILERS AHEAD! SPOILERS AHEAD! SPOILERS AHEAD! DON’T READ UNLESS YOU’VE EXPERIENCED THE WHOLE GAME OR YOU DON’T GIVE A DANG ABOUT SPOILERS!***
Confession: in trying to come up with my answer for this post, I came up with THIRTY. I’ll just put the ten here, but if anyone wants to ask about those other twenty, feel free :-D
10. The reveal of who Luxu really was the whole time. It tied together a lot of things that made sense and it set up EXACTLY THE CHARACTER IT NEEDED TO to take up the villain helm in place of Xehanort. I’m actually going to skirt saying this name, even though I warned for spoilers, because this reveal is just SO good. And a lot of the endgame made me feel sour and numb due to THE HORRIBLY TRAUMATIZING DEATH OF KAIRI, but this scene picked me almost all the way back up to normal again.
9. When Xemnas assembles Demyx, Larxene, Marluxia, and Luxord at the Keyblade Graveyard and it’s NONSTOP BANTER. Larxene firing off the most hilarious insults at Demyx (a CEREAL BOWL), Demyx openly admitting that he’s not imposing on purpose, Larxene trying to get Marluxia to start another coup, Luxord listening in the whole time and not letting on until his name is called, Luxord fiddling with the cards and making gambling metaphors, Demyx playing his sitar the whole time…and let us not forget the line that embodies a Big Mood: “Ugh. Xemnas.”
8. When Sora reunited with Hades. It was less “MY MORTAL NEMESIS WHO MUST BE STOPPED” and more “Oh, my weird friend of opposing morality who I don’t really like but have to say hi to.” Their reactions to each other were so hilariously casual. Then Hades introduced the Titans in the most EPIC way…only to realize he sent Sora EXACTLY WHERE HE SHOULDN’T GO and deciding this was fine. Also, bonus points for Sora later calling him “the H-ster.”
7. When the Demon Tornado (my personal name for the GIANT CYCLONE OF SHADOW HEARTLESS; canon will probably prove this wrong later) is about to wipe out everyone, but Ephemer helps Sora summon ALL THE KEYBLADES OF THE DEAD WIELDERS OF THE KEYBLADE WAR IN ORDER TO PULVERIZE IT. There’s so much going on there: the epicness of using a hundred Keyblades at once, the beautifully victorious arrangement of “Dearly Beloved,” the shout-outs to the player names in the commands, and, perhaps most of all, the realization after the fact that these blades were all of people who died killing each other for petty reasons…and after death, their spirits realized it was time to set aside their differences and focus on not letting Xehanort win.
6. Battling Davy Jones and the Kraken at the same time. The Kraken is one of the two Disney boss battle fights I have wanted for a DECADE (the other was Randall Boggs; you had your chance and you BLEW IT). I actually was half-disappointed with the naval battle portion because I had imagined it should be melee, but then Davy Jones turned out to be the first true Disney villain boss fight that wasn’t transformed into a Heartless or somesuch, and I’d been thirsty for content of him since arriving in that world. But then it turned out THE KRAKEN WAS WAITING IN THE WINGS TO ASSIST HIM and I actually DID get to fight it melee and it was just the PERFECT way to close out PotC’s role in KH.
5. Fighting Ansem, Seeker of Darkness; Xemnas; and Young Xehanort at the same time. First of all, BEST BOSS THEME IN THE ENTIRE GAME. It was the perfect culmination of putting all the Xehanort themes into one piece that flowed and made sense. Second, the sheer epicness of this CONCEPT. Third, the coordinated triple attack they make where Young Xehanort freezes Sora, Xemnas shoots him with the vines, and Ansem lets the lasers fly.
4. Even and Demyx’s one interaction. While I still don’t think Vexen/Even is hero material, the one thing that made that redemption worth it was this. Seeing these two diametrically opposing personalities, who you think would hate each other, play off each other perfectly. They’re just the right amount of annoyed with each other to be hilarious, and then there’s obviously some genuine respect passed between this odd couple. I will never be over how they have to shush each other in succession.
3. Ienzo’s intro to the plot, though this is kind of in two parts - I’m counting his initial reveal as Sora’s guide with his almost immediate return to help with tech stuff when Pence logs into the computer. Ienzo is just such a CINNAMON ROLL. He just wants friends now, he’s a total ambivert, he keeps slipping into jargon before realizing he’s the only one in the room who knows what he’s saying and reverting to layperson’s terms without being condescending, he flinches at sudden loud noises, he has a cute smile and a nervous laugh…oh. Oh, no. JCMorrigan has a crush.
2. When Vanitas is on the cusp of wrecking Sora on the Laughfloor…and Sulley intervenes by picking him up and YEETING HIM into a door. Oh, but not just that. Taking that door and THROWING IT INTO ANOTHER DOOR, THEN INTO ANOTHER DOOR, THEN INTO ANOTHER DOOR AND SHREDDING THAT ONE. I could NOT stop howling with laughter through this whole sequence. And about four hours later, it hit me that Vanitas could just Corridor out of wherever he got thrown, so Sulley basically did all that for nothing, AND NOW IT’S EVEN MORE HILARIOUS. BONUS POINTS STILL IF YOU THINK ABOUT THE KIDS’ ROOMS WHO EITHER HAD A DOOR FLUNG INTO THEM OR VANITAS HIMSELF. Also, can we appreciate how Sulley somehow knew after five minutes that Vanitas was THAT much worse than Randall that he’d need this treatment?
1. Randall Boggs hijacking the Monsters, Inc. factory. Randall is a legacy favorite villain of mine. He was a big part of my late childhood/young adolescence, and I was CRAZY over him. Over time, I’ve found he still holds up. I could gush about how KHIII’s additions to his entire characterization pretty much renewed my love for him afresh, but let’s focus on his finest hour. Normally, the designated villain of a KH world just peaces out and waits for you to find them at the boss location. Randall, instead, turns the entire factory into death traps and TAUNTS HIS QUARRY OVER THE PA SYSTEM GLADOS-STYLE. Not only that, but he makes TERRIBLE puns (”This one’s got some spark in him!” during the electric fence, “I’ve decided to ramp up the difficulty” as Sora climbs an upward-headed conveyor) and he easily slides from Large and in Charge (”Enjoy what’s left of your miserable little lives!”) to realizing he’s getting humiliated and trying to cover (”You get one freebie, but that’s it.”). KHIII did Randall so good I can’t even.

i beat kh3 and oh boy do i both love it and am kinda just :/ towards some of it
thoughts under the cut (and its gonna have spoilers so pls dont look if u avoiding them)
first, my gripes:
the story is fukin wild, which i expected from kh3 dont get me wrong, but u can rlly tell what parts nomura was just like “what do i do with this”. KAIRI AND NAMINE IN FUCKING GENERAL are the biggest damn example of this. i already dont like how theyre written in kh, but my god nomura had a chance to fix it and he didnt, its now objectively a lil worse. kairi is reduced to a damsel in distress AGAIN after showing some potential of improving that with her training with lea/axel, which rlly fuckin stings. shes in ONE on screen battle actually fighting, the other battle she’s in? doesnt fight, sits on the sidelines protecting a knocked out axel and then getting whooshed away. she’s always been the implied love interest for sora, and nomura rlly just reduces her to tht in the end on top of the damsel in distress. namine is in the game, but its p much a blink and ull miss it. the most interaction she has with someone is with sora in the final world as a star. the next time shes shown is being waking up and being whisked away by riku n then playing on destiny islands. she had no plot relevance and she also doesnt have a reunion with her friends like everyone else got, which is p sad to me. these girls deserve better smh.
the gimmicks in some worlds are p meh, the one i hated at first was the ship battles in the carribean, but it grew on me during my trophy hunting. the hundred acre wood mini games are so boring and forgettable, and i would argue that the world is too. u literally pop in, help them gather food, then pop out after reassuring pooh tht sora will always be in his heart. they dont explain why their bond got weaker at all.
the ultima weapon in this is stupid to get bc its locked behind annoying minigames for most of those orichalcum+ materials. theres also one locked behind a long gummi ship boss battle so that sounds horrible and im not looking forward to it lol
i played on proud and i found it isnt really....difficult. aside from me not using block bc i always wanna be hitting things, it was fairly easy to beat. its a shame really.
let me play as the other keybladers other than sora aqua and riku thanks
enough with my gripes, now for what i love about it:
I KNOW I WAS SUPER CRITICAL ABT NOMURA’S WRITING IN THIS ONE BUT I STILL LOVE IT. EVERYONE REUNITES WITH THEIR FRIENDS AND IM SO FUCKING HAPPY ABT THT IT MAKES ME TEARFUL!!!! MY GIRLFRIEND AQUA IS BACK AND HER HAPPY FAMILY IS (mostly) WHOLE AGAIN!! THE SEA SALT TRIO LIVES AGAIN!!!! ISA AND THE TWILIGHT TOWN GANG JOIN IN ON IT!!!! I CRY!!!!!! THEYRE ALL BACK AND IM SO HAPPYYYYYY
the music in the game is just so SO SOOOO GOOD. yoko shimomura did another excellent job with the themes and the arrangments, her music just makes me so emotional ;;;;;;
i rlly wish i was kidding when i said i was up at 4am crying bc of the ending. the implications it has left me with an immense sadness and the whole thing was bittersweet, so im glad the secret movie might be implying that theres much more after this. nomura u put him back now or i swear to god ill find u and cRY REALLY LOUDLY UNTIL U DO
NEW OUTFITS!!! xion’s new outfit is my fave its so cute
the game is rlly pretty, like holy shit. it runs fairly smoothly for looking like it does, i only rlly got frame drops in the carribean air boss. the nice models for pre rendered cutscenes look so cute
NEW UTADA HIKARU MUSIC, the orchestra version of dont think twice is so pretty, cant wait to hear it during the world of tres concert in june
the worlds were pretty enjoyable,  i adored the toy story monsters inc and san fransokyo worlds so much. the trio were rlly cute in the carribean too even if tht world was rlly meh to me. all these disney characters having no clue what any of the darkness villains are talking abt keeps me young. the way sully and mike deal with vanitas is hilarious, the way sora and co are just kinda THERE during elsa’s let it go song, hiro please i beg of you let me have a baymax PLEASE
riku’s reaction to mickey saying aqua was like sora is hilarious as well
the combat feels so GOOD, the keyblade switching is so fun, and how magic works in this game is soooo good and apparently broken lol
THEY GAVE SORA A PHONE. THEY TOLD HIM COMPUTER STUFF AND THE POOR BOY DOES NOT UNDERSTAND ANY OF IT. “I don’t computer.” -Sora 2019
there is so much snark and im absolutely loving it
axel looks so good in this game, i have never been an axel lover as much as i am after playing kh3, i am now a newly inducted axellover69
im glad this wasnt the end for kingdom hearts, bc while yes its been a while, kingdom hearts is one of my favorite series, and i couldnt imagine it stopping with 3 even when 3 was announced. I know itll end one day, but im glad today isnt that day.
im sure i missed a bit but all in all, even with its flaws, i love kh3

Naive: Part 1
A/N: I’m so freaking happy you guys seemed to like the intro, I wrote this and a few other “chapters” up in one night! Hopefully I can get you guys as hyped as I am for this story😭💛
Word Count: 3k+
Warnings: Just cursing in this chapter because I have the mouth of a sailor. The stirrings of sexual tension. The big stuffs coming next time though you guys I promise lol
Summary: As the goddaughter of Tony Stark you were no stranger to the Avengers, but when you meet the newest member- you’re a little more then intrigued. Unfortunately for him, Bucky Barnes has caught your eye.
💘💘💘💘💘
You and Pepper sit in the back of a sleek black Mercedes as it winds through the city, towards Manhattan and the Tower.
It had only been a few years since you’d been in New York but damn, had your forgotten how small this city made you feel. You stare out of the window, your eyes tilted up at many sky scrapers, the sun glaring through your oversized sunglasses as you look at the sky.
It reminds you of a canopy, the way the buildings seem to box you in. An urban jungle that smelled like human pee and chronic exhaustion.
“Are you excited for the internship?” Pepper asks you with a grin and you nod enthusiastically, biting your bottom lip.
What she was talking about was the internship you’d managed to score at the American Museum of Natural History.
“So fucking excited. I mean- I know they’re going to have me doing chump work. Since I only just got my bachelors degree, but the boost that it’s giving my career is insane. Like, I’ll be working on my graduates degree at the same time so I’m hoping if I can make a good impression they’ll refer me to the Smithsonian”
You cant help but babble, your mouth going a mile a minute.
School had always been important to you. It’d been drilled into you by your scientist of a mother, and your college professor of a grandmother that education was the most valuable thing in this world. You’d luckily inherited your moms bright nature, and had graduated high school as the Valedictorian…
Which always made you laugh because you’d ditched more then a third of your senior year to smoke pot with your friends in your car and had still managed to pass top of your class.
College was harder, just like you knew it was going to be. But you still goverened a high grade point average. Double majoring in Sociology and History and minoring in Art Forensics.
Because you’d known, ever since you’d watched Indiana Jones when you we’re six, that all you wanted to do was work in Museums. You wanted to be surrounded by ancient scrolls and mystical tombs. You wanted your life to be the adventure you’d mapped it out to be in your head.
Plus the ide of your fat ass swinging around on vines and running from giant rolling death balls made you smile.
“That’s a lot to have on your plate at once. But if anyone can do it, it’s you. But just know if you neglect your flower girl duties, you will be replaced” Pepper jokes and you giver her a “har har”
“You mean maid of honor duties” You verify.
“What? You cant be both? We also we’re thinking of having you be the ring bearer” You roll your eyes at the strawberry blonde who’s typing away at her blackberry. It’s such a familiar sight, a wave of nostalgia washes over you.
You’d spent a good chunk of your childhood looking up to her.
When the car pulls into the garage of what used to be Stark, but what was now Avengers tower you cant help but feel like you’re ten years olf again. Going to spend two weeks in the summertime with your “Tony Tino”
“So they should be out of their meeting in about twenty minutes, your bags are being brought to your room and the boxes got here a few days ago” Pepper confirms the plans to me as we make our way through the lush waiting room and into one of the many elevators.
“Okay, cool. I’ll just go start unpacking then-”
“Nope” She interjects and I shoot her a “why the hell not?” look.
“Tony said you should get something in your stomach. He know’s you never eat on planes” Pepper covers for herself quickly, not wanting you to see through her lie and ruin Tony’s surprise.
“Okay I guess. I’m not really hungry but you can show me the new kitchens. All he’s been talking about is how the upgrades we’re way cool” You seem to be tottaly oblivious wich makes her let out a metaphorical sigh of relief.
The kitchens are even more wicked then what Tony had told you and your eyes light up as you asses the huge room. The stainless steel and clean white walls making it look like something out of Star Trek.
“Hello Ms. Y/L/N” Fridays sing song robotic voice chimes from nowhere and you grin.
“Friday! How have you been?” You know she’s just a computer, just a hard drive, but you talk to her like she’s a real person.
Just like you used to do with Jarvis who, now, actually was a real person.
“I’ve been well, Ms. Y/L/N. Tony has missed you very much. He’s been very busy preparing for your stay. He’s instructed me to make sure you are fed because he knows you “barf” on airplanes. What can I have made for you? The chef’s specialty is French cusine”
You quirk your mouth at the word barf.
That was one time and you we’re fourteen. Would he ever let you forget it?
“Umm, just a bowl of fruit sounds good” You instruct her rolling your eyes at Pepper who insists you eat a more well rounded diet.
“Fine- and a yogurt”
You sit across Pepper, at one of the glass dining tables. You’d been hungrier then you’d realized and had eaten the entirety of the mixed fruit and yogurt happily. Your chatting about the NYU admissions when the door to the kitchens opens and people flooded in.
Those people being the Avengers- sans a couple members, but still, a decent(menacing) group. With Tony at the front.
The grin on his face is big- his eyes crinkling with crows feet as he approaches you, his arms dramatically open wide.
“Hey Tino!” You laugh as you hop down from the stool and walk over, giving him a tight squeeze. He wasn’t the tallest men, but was still much taller then you so you wrap your arms around his middle as he squeezes the life out of your head.
“Hey kiddo” He lets you go after a moment, putting a hand on your shoulder “How are you doing? Are you feeling better? Did you eat?” He looks you over as he speaks.
You look…different. Your hair is different, you’d cut at least a four or so inches off and it now sat just past your shoulders. It was lighter too.
“Yes god father, I ate. Chill out” You shake your head.
“You dyed your hair” It almost sounds like an accusation and you fight the urge to run your fingers through it self consciously.
Your hair had always reminded him so much of your moms…“It looks nice kid! Makes you look like you’re about thirty though”
“Don’t be mean to me!”
“I’m not- I’m not. I said it looks nice. Right Pepper, you heard that?” Tony looks to Pepper who’s still at the table, she just snorts at her fiancée.
“I think it brings out your eyes” Natasha pipes up as she comes up and gives you a short hug.
“Well thanks. At least someone here actually loves me. I missed you Nat, how have you been?”
And that’s how it goes, you making the rounds, reuniting with the people all around you.
Bruce blushes when you hug him tightly and ask him how things we’re hanging in the lab. Thor picks you up, as he always had, and told you how he missed his little lady. You think you hug Wanda the tightest. You’d kept in touch with her the most, you guys were close in age and you just clicked with her. You knew all about her little romance with Vision who you still had the urge to call Jarvis.
“You’ll always be Jarvis to me” You tell him. He, like Pepper, had watched you grow up.
Clint ruffles your hair in a way that makes you swat his hands away furiously. “How’ve you been, squirt?” Before Sam tells you you’d gotten a nice tan in Europe to which you cant help but bark a laugh at. “Okay creep” you punch his shoulder affectionately.
“Hey Steve” You beam at him reaching on the very tip of your toes to wrap him in a quick hug.
God, he’s still hot.
You’d had a thing for him back a few years ago. He was going through a rough patch and needed a friend and you had this inviting way about you that he’d melted into. It never got serious- you hadn’t even really kissed the guy but you’d been close.
You thought it would have been weirder seeing him again. Especially after the whole scene Tony had caused between the both of you but it wasn’t.
He still looked something akin to sunshine. His aura bright and golden.
And he was standing next to someone you’d never met- in person. But you knew exactly who the guy was.
You we’re a history major for fucks sake. Of course you knew who James Buchannan Barnes was.
“How’ve you been, Y/N? It’s been a while” Steve grins down at you.
“It really has, stranger. Thanks for keeping in contact. You know, I didn’t teach you how to properly text for nothing" You shoot at him, with no malice but it makes him shift uncomfortably on his feet.
“Yeah- I’m sorry. I should have checked in more it’s just been really hectic-” You watch him with a satisfied leer. You’d always loved making him squirm, and he just made it all too easy.
“You’re fine Steve” You wave him off “I get it. You’re still all technologically impaired. Guess I’m just not important enough for you”
You use that tone- the one that had always got him so worked up and he just puffs out a breath, shaking his head.
“That’s not- your messing with me” He catches on and you giggle and roll your eyes.
Oh, your sweet 40’s child.
“Always” You inform him before turning your attention to the man you hadn’t been formally introduced to yet and giving him a smile. That smile.
Bucky can see why you we’re known for being a flirt.
He’d just watched you work a room full of people, watched the way that the team reacted to your warmth. The way you seemed to have your own unique bond with everyone and he couldn’t lie- it was intriguing.
You’re pretty- in a way that he didn’t see a lot. Yeah, your bigger then he’d been expecting; all hips and thighs and a large bussom but there’s something eye catching about you. Maybe it’s the way your eyes are lined with sharp cat eye liner or the way your eyebrows arch. It reminds him of home, of the women that he’d grown up around.
“Hi, I’m Y/N” You hold your hand out to his. Your eyes are sparking with curiosity as he reaches down to take it.
“I’m-” He starts and you cut him off, your playful nature coming out.
“ Sargent James Buchannan Barnes? I’ve been learning about you since like kindergarten!”
“That so? You can call me Bucky” he drawls out.
“Bucky. It’s really nice to meet you. Any friend of Splangles here is a friend of mine. I mean unless you’re as boring as he is”
You really we’re a charmer. And he thought he’d been charming back in the day. You could run circles around him.
He can’t help the smooth chuckle that leaves his throat as Steve protests with an half offended “hey!”
“I’m just kidding, Steve. You know I love you!” You pinch his cheek, your nose scrunching before turning away from them and back to Tony.
Not before telling Bucky you were “Excited to pick his brain sometime”
Bucky’s gaze is focused on your retreating figure. He feels a little…dizzy. The way you feel when you get off a ride at Luna Park.
He doesn’t think he’s felt like this anytime this decade.
Steve shoots him a knowing look.
The Y/N effect.
“Told ya’ jerk” Steve pushes Bucky’s shoulder in a friendly manner as he passes him and Bucky shakes him, and the weird head high off with a quick “Punk”.
Tony hasn’t stopped talking since that first moment you’d been reunited and you hang onto every word. You’d always loved this about him; that he’d talk to you. And like, really conversation. Not just treat you like your were some dumb kid who couldn’t keep up.
You end up leaving the rest of the “Scooby gang” and you follow him to where you’re assuming is his office.
“Okay but how are they going to try and pass Government restrictions on you? It doesn’t make any sense? If they had half a brain they’d label you an international task force- but I mean then you’d have to deal with the UN more I guess. And aren’t they still super salty about the accords?…”
Tony’s over being impressed with the way your brain works. He’s been over it since you were eight and you’d called your teacher a facist.
“Super salty” Tony affirms with a sigh “But at least we have SHEILD backing us now. And there’s some new members. Oh yeah and Thors phycotic brother promised he won’t try to invade earth anymore”
You snort “Well that’s a relief I guess. He’s finally getting his younger sibling syndrome in check”
“I think Bruce scarred him for life”
“Good. He needed it. Where’s Rhodey? I noticed that he wasn’t down stairs” you ask the question that been bugging you.
“Oh yeah. He had a physical therapy appointment but he’ll be gracing us with his presence for dinner”
“How’s he doing?”
“You know Rhodey. He’s kicking PTs ass. He should be able to get back in the suit in a few months”
That makes you happy. Like genuinely so happy and relieved because you loved the shit out of Rohdey and you’d been really worried about him after the…accident.
“Yeah. He’s such a bad ass- uh hey Tino, where are we going? I thought your office was on the 47th floor?” You watch as the light around the 15 lights up, announcing your stop.
“I thought we’d make a detour. So I know you wanted to get your own apartment- but rent in the city is outrageous and you decided to humor your dear old god dad… So I improvised” Tony explains and your whole face is twisted up in confusion because what is he even talking about?
“What?” You hiss as the elevator doors ding open.
The room that’s revealed has your jaw dropping and harsh gasp ripping itself from your throat.
“Think of it as a graduation present” Tony’s happy- your reaction is just what he’d wanted.
You looked childlike as you took in the space. There were large, floor length windows that lined the furthest wall- the natural lighting was something out of a dream. The couches were plush and charcoal colored, an array of throw pillows lining them. There were white furry rugs and marble accents and gold lining to everything. The color scheme you were obsessed with.
“Tony oh my god! I love it!” You squeak. How had he gotten your tastes so well? “This is why pepper started following all my Pinterest boards huh?”
“We wanted it to feel like your own place. There’s a bed room and a bathroom back down that hall”
You turn to him, your bottom lip jutting out.
“Don’t cry!” He protests and you sniffle dramatically.
“I just- I can’t believe you had the time to do all of this. Thank you so so so so much, Tino. I love it. Best graduation gift ever”
He’d always spoiled you, a fact that you weren’t ignorant to but this… It almost felt like too much.
“I’m just happy you’re staying here. I think NYU and the internship will be really good for you. And Pepper needs someone to talk wedding plans with cause she’s staring to make my ears bleed with that shit-”
“And you want to keep an eye on me while I withdrawal?” You guess, saying what he hadn’t.
The atmosphere in the room seems to suddenly shift.
He chomps his teeth together with an audible snap and nods.
“We don’t know the entirety of side effects from coming off that drug so yes. I want you here while you do it. Even though I still don’t think it’s the best idea” Tony uses that parental voice you hate on you and you sigh and walk over to one of the Windows. Staring down bustling streets below you.
“I know, I don’t know if it’s the best idea either but somethings gotta’ give. I’m willing to try anything at this point…I don’t want to feel like this anymore” you whisper the last part.
Tony watches you, his arms folded over his chest as he deflates.
“Okay- just like I told you over the phone we’ll try it. Ween you off slowly. But if it gets too intense we’re starting them back up again”
I’m not gonna lose you too, is what he doesn’t say.
No matter how bad the idea of it scares you, you know it’s the best route. The only one you’ve got left.

Dun dun dunnnnn. Y/N’s on drugs say what?! Trust me, it’s not what your thinking. Unless you’s a mind reader- then it’s exactly what your thinking. I’m thinking? We’re thinking?😂

Chapter 25: Reunited
Fic Summary: “Everyone had a link with their soulmates, some could hear some of their partners thoughts, some had a tattoo that would appear with their partners name; for me, I knew when they got sick.” For a while Phil has thought that his soulmate might have an eating disorder and doesn’t expect to meet him in the restaurant where he works.
Genre: a lot of fluff, recovery, really fucking domestic, waiter!Phil
Warnings: eating disorders, anorexia, bulimia, hospitals, panic attacks, references to past abuse, mentions of suicide, mentions of self-harm, a lot of awkwardness, small amounts of smut. This is potentially triggering so for your own sake, please think twice about reading if anything this might affect you.
Disclaimer: I don’t have personal experience with eating disorders, but have done some research. If I have anything about them wrong, feel free to send me an ask and I’ll sort it out.

A/N: This is actually a third of the content I originally planned to include in chapter 25, but it got too long, so I felt it was best to split it up. You’ll be pleased to know, however, that I’ve almost finished writing the next chapter. Despite the computer problems of having to reinstall windows on my laptop and using a 12 year old desktop instead, I have managed to get an update to you, so enjoy!

Dan’s POV:
Waking up with Phil’s arms wrapped around me always made my morning more pleasant. Despite being naked, I felt warm and I knew I had Phil to thank for that, his body curled around me and the duvet tucked underneath me at the other side. He was still sleeping peacefully, his hair which was perfect by day, messily strewn over his eyes. I brushed the hair aside, hoping I could wake him up nicely.
A cramping in my upper thigh hit me suddenly and I was forced to stretch my leg out to try and relieve it. I kicked Phil in the process; I felt bad, but this hurt. I knew it was just the exertion from last night coming back to haunt me. I’d probably used some muscles that I didn’t usually.
“Mmm Dan?” Phil mumbled sleepily, “You gettin’ up?”
“Sorry, some muscle in my thigh did something weird and I kicked you,” I explained, “I’m a bit achey from last night.”
“Awhh, I’m sorry,” Phil said, apologising.
“It’s not your fault,” I told Phil, pecking him on the lips, “And don’t worry, I’ll be fine. I’m gonna get up and walk around the room a bit, see if I can walk it off.”
I got out of bed and slowly walked around it to Phil’s side, my legs protesting all the way. I paused for a moment, grabbing onto the side of the bed as a moment of dizziness passed through my head. I felt Phil’s hand grab onto the skin of my hip and pull me down onto the bed.
“I think you got up too fast,” he mumbled, sitting up and making sure I was laying down comfortably, “Are you feeling okay?”
“I’m fine, just a little achey, that’s all,” I explained.
Phil moved away from me, leaving space for another person between us, “Roll over onto your front.”
I did as Phil said, rolling over and settling on my stomach. Phil encouraged my legs apart and sat between them. At first, I wasn’t quite sure what he was planning, until I felt him gently squeezing my thighs, rubbing them experimentally with his thumb.
“Tell me what feels good,” Phil said, letting his hands wander over my thighs and bottom.
“Everything so far,” I mumbled after a while, revelling on the feeling of Phil’s hands on my rear, easing some of the tension that lingered there.
I was in quite a vulnerable state, spread out on my front, butt-naked, in front of Phil. He was doing well with massaging all the right spots; I’d need to thank him for this later, but currently my thoughts were all focused on relaxing but not letting myself get too turned on.
A hesitant knock at our bedroom door suddenly interrupted our bubble of calm, “Dan? Phil?”
“Uhh two seconds…” Phil rushed, hurriedly tossing the duvet over me, “Okay Ethan, come in.”
The door opened, revealing a sleepy looking Ethan. I was rolling over under the duvet so I could see him, ruffling it up a little around my crotch to protect my modesty. At first glance, he had just looked sleepy, with one eye shut, but looking a little more closely, I realised that it was significantly bruised purple and from the looks of things, swollen shut.
“Sorry, umm I cant open my eye and my chest is hurting a lot again. Can I get some painkillers or something?” Ethan mumbled, looking a bit flustered.
“Yeah, sure,” Phil said, getting off of the bed and heading for the door, “Dan, I’ll be back in two minutes.”
I sat waiting for Phil to get back, desperate for his hands to return to working their magic on my behind. I was itching to touch myself but unsure if I wanted to commit; I’d need a little time and then there was always the risk that Phil brought Ethan back with him. I forced myself to wait patiently, my hand hovering above my crotch, keeping the covers lifted up to save me from unwanted contact.
“I’ve given him ibuprofen and paracetamol because he’s hurting a lot,” Phil told me, entering our room again and shutting the door behind him, “I’ve given him a towel and suggested he takes a shower as the warm water might be quite soothing.”
Phil paused, sitting down on the bed next to me, “Now, what shall we do about you, mister? A warm bath? That might be quite soothing.”
“Can we do that with Ethan having a shower?” I asked, the thought of a bath sounding quite nice, but being unsure if the water would let us do both at once.
“Should be able to, yeah,” Phil nodded, “The shower through there is an electric one so it doesn’t use the hot water.”
“Will you be joining me?” I asked Phil, assuming he would but not wanting to be too presumptuous.
“Hmm,” Phil thought aloud, “I was thinking of jumping in the shower, but that would definitely be too much water running at once, so yeah, I’ll join you in the bath for five minutes.”
Phil started the bath running, then came to give me a hand through there, a gesture I appreciated with my aching legs. Phil made no comment about my morning erection until we were comfortably settled in the bath, his legs either side of me.
“Would you like some help with this or are you trying to ignore it?” Phil asked softly, his hand hovering above my thigh.
“I had been ignoring it as I couldn’t be bothered, but yeah, I’d appreciate the help,” I admitted.
Phil wrapped his hand around my dick and proceeded to give me a very laid back handjob. I finished in a facecloth so I didn’t mess up the water too much. Phil left me after that, scooping up some bubbles from behind me and mischievously messing up my hair with them.
“You relax for a bit longer,” Phil said, as he got dried and put some clothes on, “I’m going to get the breakfast stuff out and maybe start eating mine. I’ll see you through there at some point.”
I stayed in the bath for another ten minutes, until it started to get cold. It was really quite relaxing and I thanked Phil for his idea. The little bit of alone time had also been rather soothing on my brain, which had been feeling a little overwhelmed and jumbled.
My thighs felt better too, I realised as I got dried and walked through to our room to find some clothes. I got dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, along with my comfiest boxers as I was feeling soft and a little sensitive, with not much desire to be sexy.
I could hear the shower on as I passed the other bathroom; Ethan must have taken up Phil’s suggestion too. I joined Phil at the table for breakfast; he had finished his cereal but was still quietly nursing a big mug of coffee.
“Hey,” I said, taking my seat across from him, “Thanks for the bath; I feel a lot better now.”
“It’s no problem,” he said, passing me the cereal, “I’m glad.”
Phil stayed and talked to me while I ate my cereal, “I’m going to make some soup this morning, so when everyone’s here for lunch, we’ve got something nice to have. I’ve checked and we have everything we need for chicken noodle, does that sound good?”
“Mmm,” I nodded, “Yeah, I think my family all like that. Don’t know about Ethan, but I would go for it anyway.”
Once I’d finished my cereal, I took my medication, which Phil had put by my place, along with a glass of water.
“Well, I was thinking I could take Ethan out shopping for a few essentials,” I said to Phil, “Like a couple of t-shirts, some underwear, etcetera…”
“Ooh yeah, good idea,” Phill said, “Well you guys can do that while I make the soup.”
“I’m probably going to get started on chopping the vegetables just now,” Phil told me, “They can take a while.”
Phil headed to the kitchen to get started on the vegetables and I cleared up our breakfast dishes, just leaving those for Ethan on the table. I decided to offer him some help with the vegetables. Okay, I couldn’t cook like Phil, but I could slice a carrot.
Phil and I were both busy slicing vegetables when Ethan came into the kitchen, dressed in jeans, underwear and socks, but clearly missing a shirt, as it was still soaking in cold water with some stain remover.
“Hey, can I borrow a shirt?” he said, glancing down at his heavily bruised chest.
“Sure,” I said, rinsing the carrot juice off my hands and gesturing for him to follow me to mine and Phil’s room.
“You a size small, I’m guessing?” I said, pulling out a selection of t-shirts that were a bit tight on me these days.
“Yeah,” he nodded, “Are you?”
“Not really,” I admitted, “A year ago, a small was a bit big on me, but they’re a bit tight now… so umm… take your pick.”
A wave of bad thoughts about my body washed over me for a second as I looked at the t-shirts I used to wear. I had plenty shirts that still fit me fine, but there were a couple of these that made me feel a bit sick to look at, now that I remembered the memories that went with them. I fiddled nervously with the hem of the shirt I was wearing, which, come to think of it, was actually Phil’s.
Thankfully, Ethan picked out a plain grey one I didn’t have any issues with and I was free to hide the rest back at the bottom of my drawer. I should probably take them to a charity shop sometime, but part of me still clung onto them with the hope they would fit.
“Breakfast’s ready when you are,” I told Ethan, as he put the shirt on, “And presuming you’re up for it, you and I are going shopping after.”
“For?” Ethan question.
“Well I’m not washing your one pair of boxers everyday and I’m presuming you’re going to want to change your t-shirt and trousers every so often,” I teased him.
“Okay,” Ethan laughed, “Yeah, I’m up for that.”
Ethan went to eat his breakfast and I returned to slicing Phil’s carrot. It didn’t really take long, so once I gave Phil the pile of carrot slices, I went to see how Ethan was getting on with his breakfast.
Earlier this morning his eye appeared to be swollen shut, but now he’d managed to open it up. The purple bruising was still there; that would take a few days to return to normal. Ethan was rubbing his face as I approached him, which at first I thought nothing of; everyone was tired in the morning after all. Something caught my eye: a pink blotch on his jawline near to his ear.
“Ethan, take your hands away from your face and look at me,” I said slowly, now standing next to him.
As he turned to face me, I could see that most of his face was a bit pink and blotchy, “Umm, are you allergic to anything?”
“A couple of face washes, but that’s all,” Ethan said, “Wait, is my face reacting?”
“I think so, let me get Phil through,” I said, knowing that Phil would be able to confirm this.
“Phil,” I called out so he would hear me, “Come here.”
Phils head poked around the kitchen doorway and I quickly gestured for him to come over, “Does this look like an allergic reaction to you?”
“God yeah, uhh right, I’m going to find you some piriton,” Phil said, sounding a little worried. “Have you eaten anything you don’t usually? Put anything on your face?”
Ethan shook his head, “No.”
“If you’re allergic to some facewash could it be our shampoo?” I suggested, thinking that would have been close to his face in the shower.
“Maybe…” Ethan said thoughtfully, “Probably; that’s the only thing that’s been anywhere near my face.”
“Right, go and wash your face with lots of water and I’ll bring the piriton through to you,” Phil said in a rather assertive manner.
I went with Ethan to the bathroom, and saw the horrified surprise on his face as he looked in the mirror. He got busy washing his face, while I lingered in the doorway, just generally keeping an eye on him to make sure he was okay.
“Is this what the face washes did to you?” I asked.
“Yup,” he said, rather muffled by all the water he was chucking at his face.
“It doesn’t get any worse, does it?” I asked, concerned in case he was about to start having breathing problems or something.
“No, just my face goes blotchy and itchy,” he said, “My mum gave me piriton for it and that worked.”
“Okay, good,” I said, now moving out of the doorway to let Phil through with the allergy medicine.
I passed on the new information to Phil as he passed Ethan the tablets and a glass of water, “When this has happened before, his mum’s given him it and that’s worked.”
“Okay, that’s positive,” Phil said, taking the glass back from Ethan when he was done.
Ethan and I headed for the sofas, where I kept an eye on him until I was satisfied he was recovering. The blotchiness gradually reduced and he was no longer looking uncomfortable as he stopped himself from itching his face.
“I think you’re looking better,” I told him, “How are you feeling?”
“Less itchy,” he admitted, “I’m going to take a look in the mirror.”
I watched Ethan head over to the nearest mirror and study his face. After a few moments he turned around, nodding.
“I think I'm good now,” he told me, “It'll take a day or two for it to die down completely, but I'll be fine.”
“Are you still up for going shopping?” I asked him, wanting to make sure his little allergic reaction hadn't put him off going out. “We could also go to the pharmacy and see whether we can pick up some kind of ointment or cream?”
“Yeah, that would be good,” Ethan said, running his fingers over a redder blotch that was still fading from his chin.
--
Leaving Phil to get on with making the soup, Ethan and I got ready to head out. Ethan was borrowing Phil's coat today as he didn't have his own one, but hopefully we'd get that sorted out. Five minutes later, we were at the door ready to go.
Calling out one last goodbye to Phil, I shut the door behind us and we started to make our way down the stairs.
“Now are you good with Tesco clothes or would you rather we head out to the shopping centre and go to primark or something?” I asked, conscious that not all teenage boys wanted to be seen in supermarket clothes.
“Honestly, Tesco's fine,” Ethan said, “It’s better than the nothing I have at the moment and I don't want you spending too much on me.”
“Ethan, it's not a problem,” I insisted, not wanting him to feel bad about it.
“Dan, I witnessed some of the panic attack you had a couple of weeks ago when you and Phil were looking at financial stuff,” Ethan said, “I know you're not in the best place financially, so I really appreciate all you're doing for me.”
I nodded, my mind flashing back that panic attack. Things in my brain were better since then and I was starting to understand that it wasn't as much of an issue as my anxiety was telling me.
Ethan and I got in the car and we drove to our local Tesco. Once in the shop, our first stop were the clothing aisles, where I helped Ethan to figure out what he needed. A couple of packs of underwear and socks, a handful of t-shirts, a pair of jeans, a pair of joggies and some pyjamas… what else could he need? We had a look around to see if there were any coats, but we didn’t have any success with that one. I guess we’d need to look somewhere other than Tesco; that could wait ‘til another day.
We made a quick trip to the snacks aisle. I let Ethan pick out a few things he liked and added some things in that would suit my brother and parents. Despite this having been organised very last minute, we wanted to be prepared and have something tasty for them to snack on with their tea of coffee. Phil wouldn’t have time to bake anything as he wouldn’t have time along with making the soup.
We headed for the checkout with our trolley of clothes, crisps and chocolate. In the back of my mind, I still had that slight insecurity that the checkout person would judge me for what I was buying. However, I knew that this wasn’t all for me, and that was enough to have me feeling okay about it.
After putting the bags in the car, we walked from Tesco’s car park, through an underpass into the town centre. I took Ethan into the pharmacy and explained to the pharmacist what had happened, asking if they had anything that could help with the lingering itchy redness. With a bit of prompting, Ethan was able to remember the ingredient he was allergic to and the pharmacist was able to produce a tube of cream that would help with the reaction.
As we headed back to the car, we passed a wedding planners’ shop. I paused to look in the window, making a mental note that this was here for when Phil and I decided to tie the knot. We probably wouldn’t do anything too fancy, but we could come here to look for some ideas.
“Dan, do soulmates still get married? Like you and Phil still have different names? Or is that just people who aren't soulmates that get in a relationship?” Ethan asked, sounding a bit confused.
“Yeah, soulmates usually get married, they don’t often make a big thing out of it because it doesn’t mean much other than a name change,” I explained, “Phil and I aren’t married; we probably will someday but we haven’t got around to it yet.”
“How do you decide which name to keep?” Ethan questioned.
“It’s usually the older one in the relationship’s name, so I’ll take Phil’s, but you can switch it around if that’s what you want,” I told him, puzzled about how he didn’t know this already,  “Do you not know this from your parents?”
“My parents aren’t soulmates,” Ethan told me, looking a little embarrassed, “My mum has no idea what her soulmate link is, if she even has one. My dad’s soulmate died under mysterious circumstances and they both wanted a family. Got together to make me, but they’re relationship isn't the best. They’re married, but I had no idea about soulmate naming conventions because my dad says the woman takes the man's name, but that doesn't work for same sex soulmates.”
I nodded, thinking about what he had just told me. I don’t think I’d ever met a child of non-soulmate parents before, but I had heard it was possible. It was just, non-soulmate relationships didn’t usually work well enough for them to get to the stage of making a child. From what I’d heard, it could result in difficult family relationships and children with mental health problems. As I thought about it for a moment, I realised that that could partially explain Ethan’s situation.
“Well if you’ve got any more questions about soulmate stuff, feel free to ask me and I’ll do my best to answer,” I told Ethan.
“Is there any expectation for soulmates to… ummm… have sex like really soon after they meet?” Ethan asked, turning red and stumbling over his words, “Like I’ve heard people do it in like the first few days, but Adam’s not sixteen yet and I don’t know if I’m ready either.”
“There’s no hurry, don’t worry,” I told him, “It was a couple of months before Phil and I did. The most important thing is to make sure you’re both ready and know each other well enough to have that level of intimacy. A lot of people get excited and do it too soon. You should talk to Adam about it, make sure you’re on the same wavelength, make sure that he’s not worried about it.”
“That’s an idea, yeah,” Ethan nodded, “It’ll be difficult to bring up, but I’ll give it a shot.”
“It’ll be less embarrassing talking about it now, than when the time comes,” I said, starting to walk again so we weren’t hanging around outside the wedding shop for too long.
--
When we got back home, I opened the door to the welcoming smell of soup. I could hear Phil in the kitchen, the metal clash of the pot lid as he returned it to the pot.
“You go and put your clothes away and put some of that cream on your face,” I said to Ethan, as I shut the door, “I’m going to take these snacks to the kitchen and see how Phil’s getting on with the soup.”
“Hey,” I said, arriving in the kitchen, laying the bags down on the counter and approaching Phil to give him a kiss.
I hugged Phil from behind and pressed a kiss to the side of his face, “How’s the soup doing, love?”
“It’s good,” Phil said, nodding at the pot, “It’s ready now; I’ve just turned it off. D’you want to try some.”
Agreeing, because Phil’s cooking was to die for, I let him feed me a spoonful. I kept it in my mouth for a couple of moments, enjoying the flavour and chewing up the noodle, before swallowing it. It was good.
“Mmmm,” I said, appreciatively, “That’s good.”
“Glad you like it,” Phil said, clapping his hands to the sides of my face and bringing me in for a kiss.
“Mmmm,” I said, as Phil pulled away, “That was good too.”
Phil laughed, his eyes crinkling up at the sides. I laughed too, watching as he rather clumsily returned the lid to the pot again. It was clear that cooking made Phil really happy and I was glad to see that. His smile when he laughed, the way his mouth turned into a grin with his tongue poking through, the way his eyes scrunched up a bit… It made me feel all warm and bubbly inside.
“I’m going to make up some sandwiches now,” Phil told me, “Could you text Adam and see how are away there are? I’ll put the soup on to reheat when they get here.”
I texted Adam and got a reply within seconds; I could imagine his phone was providing entertainment for the long journey so my message probably appeared at the top of the screen, interrupting whatever he was doing.
“They’re about fifteen minutes away,” I told Phil, moving out the way of the fridge so he could get the stuff out for the sandwiches.
“Did you say fifteen minutes?” Ethan asked, excitement in his voice, as he walked into the room.
“Yup,” I nodded, “Not long until you can see Adam again.”
I was amused by Ethan’s level of excitement, but I understood to an extent how he felt. I would hate to be separated from Phil for two weeks and could only imagine the sense of longing to be reunited.
--
My parents and Adam arrived, as predicted, about fifteen minutes later. I let them in the door entry, then Phil and Ethan joined me by the door as we waited for them to come up the stairs. I opened the door and we listened to their footsteps getting closer. We saw the tops of their heads first as they approached the half landing. As they came up the last flight of stairs, Adam started running up them, well as fast as he could while carrying a suitcase.
He dropped the suitcase at the door and smothered Ethan in a somewhat emotional embrace. Phil and I watched on, amused. Ethan had his face buried in the crook of Adam’s neck and Adam was gently nuzzling his face into the back of Ethan’s neck. It was cute, and I could tell my parents were in awe too. This was the first time they’d seen the two of them together, other than in a photo, and it was something quite remarkable. Although their soulmate bond was telepathic rather than physical, you could almost see the energy radiating off of them. They had something truly special there.
My parents, after finishing walking up the stairs at a normal pace, shuffled into our apartment. As I shut the door behind them, Adam realised that he should probably stop hugging his boyfriend and introduce him to his parents.
“Mum, Dad, this is Ethan,” he said, looking from his parents to his boyfriend, “Ethan, these are my parents, Catherine and Bernard.”
“Hi,” Ethan said, putting on a polite smile, “It’s nice to meet you. Sorry about my appearance…”
“Don’t worry about it, it’s nice to meet you too,” my mum cut him off, giving him a loose hug.
My mum’s hug didn’t last long; I could see she was being careful. Ethan shook hands quickly with my dad, before Adam put an arm around him and brought him back to his side.
As we chatted to my parents, Phil taking their coats and hanging them up on the coat hooks, I noticed Adam taking a closer look at Ethan’s eye.
“You put ice on this, yeah?” he mumbled, lightly running his thumb over the bruised skin.
“Yeah,” Ethan said, flinching slightly, “Still hurts though; I couldn’t even open it this morning.”
“Ouch,” Adam muttered, “And how’s your chest looking? That felt bad.”
“Bruised,” Ethan mumbled, flinching away from the hand Adam was about to run down his chest.
“Can I see?” Adam asked, his voice filled with concern and not really thinking it would be weird to have his boyfriend shirtless in front of his parents.
“Umm… yeah… but not now,” Ethan said clumsily, “Not with your parents here.”
“Guys, you can go to your room if you want a little privacy,” I told them, interrupting their exchange, “You probably need to be alone together for a bit to sort your emotions out. I’ll come and get you for lunch when it’s ready.”
“Okay,” they replied, almost in unison, before heading off in the direction of the spare room.
As we headed along the hallway to the living room, I gave my parents a brief house tour, by pointing to the various doors and letting them know what they were, “Mine and Phil’s room, bathroom, spare- well Ethan’s room, office-slash-junk-room we still need to sort out, kitchen and as you can see we’re now in the living room.”
I sat down with my parents in the living room while Phil headed into the kitchen to get the soup heated and finish making the sandwiches. Our conversation wasn’t exceptionally interesting, but it was necessary. Ethan had been missing a lot of school because of his suicide attempts and depression, and as a result, Adam had been missing a lot too. My parents planned to get Adam some tutors over the Easter Holidays to help him with what he’d missed. Ethan, however, was a more complicated case; he’d admitted to me that he didn’t think he could catch up, didn’t think he would be sitting his exams.
My parents didn’t want to split the two of them up again, and now they were discussing the logistics of whether Ethan could head south with them and repeat his last year of school with Adam. It seemed the most sensible idea I’d heard so far, but obviously they’d have to make sure it was what Ethan and Adam wanted to.
My parents would need to figure out if there were any legal issues; he was over sixteen, so he shouldn’t need a guardian, but with only one year of law under my belt, I wasn’t able to say if there would be any other complications.
Phil called us over to the table for lunch, so I encouraged my parents to take a seat while I went to fetch Adam and Ethan. They had the door shut, so I knocked and waited for a ‘come in’. I doubted they were doing much, but I still wanted to respect their privacy. It only took a moment to get the go-ahead, allowing me to open the door and step into the room. Ethan was shirtless and Adam was cuddling him from behind, arms positioned carefully to avoid the various bruises on his chest.
“Lunch is ready,” I told them, “Ethan, put a shirt on, then both of you come through before the soup gets cold.”
“Okay,” Adam nodded, “And sorry, my fault that Ethan’s shirtless, I wanted to see his bruises.”
“It’s not a problem,” I laughed, “I was just thinking he’d maybe rather not be half naked in front of our parents.”
I headed back through and took a seat at the table, Adam and Ethan following not far behind. Phil had served up soup for everyone and put a big plate of sandwiches in the middle of the table. Phil had his own small plate of sandwiches, probably to save any mix-ups and avoid him having some accidental dairy.
Phil’s soup tasted just as amazing as it had earlier when I sampled it, if not better. I could see everyone else was of the same opinion, draining their bowls and following me up to the kitchen when Phil said we could help ourselves to more.
“You really know how to make Dan eat,” I heard my mum comment to Phil as I went up for a third bowl of soup.
“Yup, that’s been my main goal since I met him,” Phil chuckled, “He doesn’t even need the encouragement now; I’m really proud of him.”
I was returning to the table as Phil said this and watched as he turned a bit pink.
“Thanks Phil,” I said, replying to his comment that I wasn’t exactly intended to hear, “Thanks for making me eat because life is so much better now.”
--
The afternoon consisted of a lot of catching up. Everyone was together in the living room and we really just sat around drinking coffee. We talked a little about my parents thought of Ethan going down South to live with them next year. He said he’d need a little time to think about it, which was understandable, but I could see the positivity in his expression.
“Your face is looking better,” I told Ethan in a lull of conversation, “Did you put that cream on?”
“Yeah, I did,” he said, “It really helped. It was a bit cold but it was really soothing and pretty much stopped the itchiness.”
Seeing the confusion on my parents faces, I gave them a brief explanation, “He had a reaction to our shampoo this morning, but it’s nothing to worry about.”
I could tell that Ethan must have already told Adam, because he didn’t look concerned in the slightest when I brought it up. He just continued to hold Ethan’s hand with a small smile on his face.
--
For dinner, Phil cooked up a pork casserole. He served everyone a plate of the pork and gravy and had the other elements organised in the middle of the table so we could help ourselves to roast vegetables and potatoes. It suited everyone just fine and lived up to Phil’s usual standards.
After the meal of pork and an optional desert, my parents headed away to their hotel for the night. As my mum said bye to Adam, I noticed she was having a rather confused conversation about Ethan and whether they had kissed yet or anything. Adam was saying that, yes, they had multiple times and my mum was looking a bit lost for words. I interrupted that conversation before it could go any further, knowing that my mum would have turned it into an incredibly awkward sex talk if I’d left it to her.
Afterwards, once my parents had driven off into the distance, I took Adam aside to explain, “Sorry for interrupting your little chat with mum, but I could tell she was about to turn it into some sort of awkward sex talk about stuff that she knows nothing about, so I thought I’d save you the embarrassment.”
“Thanks for saving me,” Adam laughed, “I could kinda guess it was going that way too and I didn’t know what to do.”
“On that topic though,” I started, “I’ll maybe have a non-awkward chat with you, say tomorrow. Unlike her, I’ll actually know what I’m talking about.”
“Ughhh why?” Adam groaned, looking a little pink.
“Because you’re young and I want to make sure you’re ready for whatever your relationship throws at you,” I explained.
Seeing he still wasn’t quite getting the idea, I continued, “Would you have any idea where to start if you went into teso looking for condoms and lube?”
“N-no,” Adam stuttered, turning bright red.
“Look, no need to be embarrassed, we’ll have a little chat about it, nothing to be worried about,” I said calmly, trying not to embarrass him any further.
“Okay,” Adam nodded, still looking a little pink, but I could tell he understood now why we needed to talk about it.
--
February evenings aren’t the warmest, Ethan discovered later that night. The four of us were sitting in the living room, watching a film, when Ethan announced he was cold.
“Shit, we should’ve got you a hoodie,” I said, kinda thinking out loud, “I felt like I was forgetting something.”
Before I could offer to lend him one, Adam was on it, getting up and heading for their room, “I’ll lend you one!”
The moments after Adam returned with a hoodie were incredibly cute. The hoodie he had brought was slightly oversized and it looked really warm. Ethan put it on, tightened the strings to pull it in around his head a little, then pulled the top of it up over his mouth and nose. He pulled the cuffs down over his hands and folded his arms, looking very content, hints of a smile shining through in the corners of his eyes.
I knew by looking at him exactly how he was feeling. There was a certain feeling of content I got by wearing some of Phil’s clothes. I didn’t know if there was any soulmate science in it or if it was just a feeling, but whatever the case I could see Ethan felt the same with Adam’s hoodie.
As we headed to bed for the night, I was glad I wasn’t having to look after Ethan again. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t mind looking after him, but I was glad he had Adam now. It was their destiny to be together and look after each other, no matter what some people would say.
