He likes sharing them since he knows they’ve helped others but he’s been doing that for as long as he can remember even at inappropriate times. Like I dunno, as a kid at a funeral I could see him just telling some random person there about how he knows how bodies decompose, how bodies slowly rot and what each stage looks like. (I think that’s why he loves the narrator. He loves how randomly weird he is as well.)

•He needs attention all on him. He loves it so much and feeds off of it. His favorite kind of attention is from the narrator and he will get snarky and whatever when he feels like he isn’t getting enough from him but also he just thrives off attention from anyone in general. It’s what makes him carry himself so confidently. He knows people are dying for a minute of his time and to be the idealized version of himself he puts off.

•He doesn’t allow himself to cry in front of others. More than likely it’s because of his father saying boys shouldn’t cry or be weak. He knows it’s bullshit deep down but he still holds that mindset for himself. (If another dude is crying like the narrator, he won’t give them much shit for it.)

•My final idea for right now….he hates the doctors and all things like that. He can say a ton of reasons why but the main ones are he just feels super uncomfortable at places like that because either 1. He doesn’t want them going on about how bad his or the narrators health is & being really worried for them and questioning them.. or 2. He just finds it hard to be as snarky or smart to ‘em. They all don’t usually fall for his bs unless they are a part of fight club or project mayhem.

Cast Away (2000)

A FedEx executive undergoes a physical and emotional transformation after crash landing on a deserted island.

JayBell: There are so many things about this movie that I love. The first part of the movie shows how much Tom Hanks' character is on the go go go. He's all about efficiency and productivity. Everything is on a schedule, even his personal life. At the same time, he's also a bit of a romantic.

It takes a while to build up to the big crash, but it's great for character building and raising the anticipation. The plane crash scene has pretty good special effects, even by today's standards.

I'm a big fan of survival movies, so I do love watching Tom Hanks' character make mistakes, learn, face setbacks, overcome obstacles. Having Wilson as a way for his character to bond with another "person" is so smart. Although it is strange to be sad about a man's relationship with a volleyball, it's done so well. You really feel like Wilson is the only thing keeping his character sane.

Usually with movies like this, it ends when they get "rescued." I like that they show some of his character's adjustment back into society. (the seafood dinner with food carelessly leftover, the lighter, the too soft mattress, him guzzling water from a bottle).

I only have a few gripes about this movie. One, why are there zero animals or bugs on the island? Yes, there are fish. But nothing else at all? Even a small scene of him killing a bug or chasing off an animal would be cool.

And second, I do think his girlfriend moves on a bit too fast, especially without the closure of his recovered body. If you do some of the math, she basically "grieves" for like 6 months or so, and some of those months were spent still trying to find him. I agree that they shouldn't get back together in the end, but I my brain couldn't help but do the math at the same time.

But I do feel like the ending fits. Now, Tom Hanks' character isn't on a schedule, he doesn't have a plan, which is so different from how he treated life in the beginning of the movie. And I like how the angel artist lady is included throughout the movie before finally appearing at the end, as if it was "meant to be."

P.P.S. I couldn't help but notice as he drives in the final scenes of the movie, he has a brand new Wilson. What on earth is he planning to do? Create a new Wilson with a face and talk to it and carry it around in society? Use it for volleyball? Doesn't that seem disrespectful? idk

Anzie: As this is my second time writing this review bc obviously the universe hates me and disagrees with my opinion on this ammmazing movie, this will be scathing. I hated it I don’t even wanna be nice anymore. I thought it was funny how Tom Hanks was obsessed with time and then forced to be on an island where time really is an illusion. I like the start when he’s still running fedex (totally thought he was ups but whatever) and the plane crash was really well done for the time and then when he’s on the island I start getting peeved. Has this mannnnn ever seen Naked and Afraid. Where’s the fire- it took him so long. He should’ve been a Boy Scout. Uggg. And the knocking his own tooth out. I’m triggered. And loosing Wilson. Lame. He so could got him. This is like Jack and Rose all over again.

And now my reallllll problem. I will not ever be able to watch Helen Hunt again. Okkk. So this guy that gives you a ring the last time you saw him on Christmas right as he’s boarding a plane that will crash- is stuck on an island for 4 years. Ok - Her kid is 2 years old - it takes 9 months to make a baby- ok so we’re already back in time where there’s 1 year and 2 months when she could’ve been hung up over him- soooo in the year following his disappearance- say she waited a month or two for them to find him- okkk we’re at a year grieved another 2 months- quick but okkkkkk met his Root Canal Dentist- which wowwwww- had a wonderful romance so in like 8/10 months after he was missing- I’m sooo sorry she got over him being missing grieved and dated and married this guy would is literally her fiancé nemesis and had a kid wayyyyy to quick. I mean I do t think I ever did anything so quick in my life everrrr. And I still can’t look at Chris Noth. I’m done. For my sanity I have to be. None of the math makes sense to read but you get it. After 2 months??? I think I’ve been dedicated to listening to a song on repeat longer than that.

I am glad he had his little friend to come back to- and I did like the whole angel wings artist lady plot but that veers to unhealthy kinnnnnda???

Thoughts on The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday Part 2

“Christmas is officially back on!” And apparently, a city news reporter like yourself has the power to declare a holiday uncanceled. Why is Diane not in this again?

The others’ reactions to Snake getting all touchy-feely 🥹. OMG I WANNA HUG HIM SO BAD!!! (At the same time though, the close-ups on his face during this scene are so off-putting that it kinda ruins the moment for me.)

“That vortex is about to suck in the whole city, we don’t have time to be mad at me.” Sure, Wolf. Act like endangering your only friends isn’t worth getting angry over. You’ve really disappointed me this time. 😔

In all fairness though, at least he does apologize and admits how much the others mean to him. And I love how the other guys pretend to be disgusted but at the same time are moved to tears, while Snake is just like, “Yeah, whatever 😒.” (Even though we all know he’s bawling on the inside.)

The scene right after Shark is tossed out of the vortex without his shirt…the characters look like they’re literally floating off the ground…

That one random guy getting sucked into the vortex is actually pretty funny…in a “WTF is this animation?” kind of way.

“Are you seeing this?” No, Tiffany, all I see is your badly-animated face. Now please get it out of mine. XD

Aww, that’s adorable how the Bad Guys try to save each other from the vortex 😊…Now can we talk about the fact that the animators clearly just took still images of Piranha and Tarantula and moved them around?

How did Shark get his shirt back after all that?

Wolf’s motions as he’s falling out of the Santa bot…again, what is this, the Looney Tunes? Oh and nice dust effect when he lands by the way. I feel like this was made for a PlayStation 2 game, not Netflix.

Wait…so, the promo for this special clearly showed Shark in a Santa suit…but the closest we get to him cosplaying as Santa is him doing a voice. What. 😐

Oh, and since the Bad Guys were exposed to potentially-lethal, freezing temperatures, they all end up sick on Christmas. And Wolf has the gall to complain despite being the reason it happened. Just be thankful it’s only a cold and not frostbite, buddy.

In all seriousness though, I feel bad for them. Like, I wanna make them all better, but mostly Snake. He looks soooo miserable and I can only imagine how as a kid he must have had no one to take care of him when he was sick. That is so heartbreaking. And when he says “Bah humbug” in the middle of sneezing? Awww, poor baby! 🥺

Apparently, Santa really does exist in this universe and the Bad Guys are miffed that they ended up on his Nice List. Which…kinda seems out of character in all honesty. Like…wasn’t them being treated as something other than criminals the reason they turned good in the movie? They’re not disgusted by the concept of good (except maybe Snake); They just don’t understand it. Now I see why people had a problem with this being set before the movie.

And we end with the Bad Guys planning to heist the North Pole…which would have made a much better, much more interesting holiday special. If this does become a series, I hope they make an episode out of that.

And before we get to my final thoughts, let’s see which of my predictions for the special came true:

There will be at least one reference to the Grinch-✅ Yep! And a Die Hard reference, too, surprisingly.

The gang will have a Christmas tree with stolen jewels for ornaments-❌ Nope. I don’t think they had any decorations in their hideout or at least none I could see.

Wolf will get a good tingle from saving everyone’s Christmas-❌ Nope. The opposite happened. He apparently hates the idea of being seen as good now. 🤨

Shark will be a mall Santa-❌ We don’t see him in a mall and the only likeness to the man in red he gives is his voice, so I’m gonna say no.

Piranha will have a holiday-themed musical number-✅ Got that one!

Someone will call Snake a “Scrooge”-❌ Nope. He acts like him and even says “Bah humbug,” but no one outright calls him that.

Also, Snake will secretly hate Christmas because of some past trauma-❌ They don’t say or even imply it, but let’s be honest: we know he has some form of trauma from Christmas.

Diane will only have a cameo-❌ Sadly, no. They were determined to keep her out of this special, apparently.

Luggins and Tiffany will return-Well, this one is half right.

The Bad Guys will have a gift exchange with stolen goods-❌ Nope. Go to luonnonvalinnat for that one ‘cause you ain’t gonna find it here.

Final score: 2.5/10. Wow. Either I don’t know the Bad Guys as well as I thought, or the creators of this potential series don’t know how to write them. Eh. I’m going with the latter.

As for the special itself? It's a 5/10 for me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we got to see the gang again and I'm even more glad we might get to see their shenanigans in a spinoff series some day. And even though it was kinda dumb and there was potential for it to be even better, I didn't mind the story that much. The voice acting is good enough, even if I don't recognize anyone's name except Grey DeLisle. It's the ANIMATION that really kills this thing for me. My god, what a trainwreck. Like, no joke, there were several times throughout this thing where I just wanted to look away because the characters were just...so ugly! I get that this is the result of a low budget, and they couldn't make it as fluid as the movie's animation. The problem, of course, is that the animation in the Bad Guys movie is SO beautifully fluid, even removing like 1% of its fluidity makes it look terrible. They probably should have done what Captain Underpants did and just made the whole thing 2D. At least then it would have looked somewhat appealing.

I don't know, if you haven't seen this special yet and are curious about it, I say just buy the novelization instead, because this alone is not worth a subscription to Netflix. Plus, the novelization includes a bonus chapter of the Bad Guys on New Year's, so there's that. And if you have seen the special, let me know what you guys thought about it. 1. My best girl back in my ask box!! I am so ELATED that you're catching the details! I've been slowly making the transition on the way Obi-Wan smells since literally chapter ONE (OK chapter 3 actually but still)

2. He doesn't even know Anakin would still love him 🥺🥺. Hell, he doesn't even know Anakin loves him NOW. There's this bit in the next chapter, the following morning:

He studies Anakin carefully, taking in the soft expression on his face. With some surprise, Obi-Wan realises he’s seen it before, seen it directed at him. How long has his husband been looking at him like this? How had he not noticed?

He sees he's been blind about Anakin's feelings but continues to be blind about the EXTENT of Anakin's feelings.

Anakin realized he loves Obi-Wan (this chapter's "epiphany") and immediately was all in, 100%, this is his husband they're married and in love now. In his mind, it's clearly mutual.

But Obi-Wan has been in love with Anakin for a looong time now, and he thinks they're still taking baby steps in their relationship. They kissed, sure, but that doesn't mean Anakin is suddenly in love with him.

3. Anakin learning is soooo dear to me, because aaall the way back in chapter 3 he was like:

there is a part of Anakin that wants to be petty, to tease and bring the man to tears in a vindictive sort of punishment—an opportunity to take control back from his Emperor husband without any chance of it being perceived as a threat to their alliance. However experienced Obi-Wan is, he won’t stand a chance against Anakin.

But now he knows Obi-Wan has such a soft heart (the most innocent baby in this verse, you're right 🥺). He's treating Obi-Wan gently, he's not lashing out anymore. We see the growth SO MUCH in this chapter:

It's clear to Anakin that his alpha is still feeling a little unwell, looking pale and somewhat distracted. Anakin resolves to take it easy on him, today.

He slides one hand slowly up Obi-Wan’s back, the other reaching out to pull him down by the nape of his neck. He moves carefully, not wanting to spook Obi-Wan—but his husband comes eagerly, leaning down and pressing lips to lips.

As for Shmi... she'll change her opinion on him once the whole "who proposed to who" conflict is resolved

4. SAND SEAL SURFING. I'm planning to have them go sometime after the Celebration of Light but there will also be sooo many kissses between now and then <3

And don't even worry about the morning after, Anakin will be there! I already wrote the scene for the next morning. (Originally it was gonna be in ch13, but unfortunately it didn't work with the pacing)

There will still be some angst in the rest of the fic, but like...we've gotten passed the hard part. Once they return from their vacation, the larger plot will begin acting upon them again. They'll have all these problems thrown at them and they'll have to split up for a bit. But they'll still be TOGETHER 💕

REALLYYYYYYYYY LONG RAMBLE ABOUT ASHENS INBOUND!!!!!

so one of my favorite youtubers Ashens is making a new movie and it looks reallyyyyyy cool and I'm so excited for it!!!! he's done two other movies before, but both of them are comedies, and this upcoming one is a horror so I'm excited to see what it's gonna be like!!! and I love love love horror movies also, so even unrelated to ashens I'm excited to see it!! :D 

it's called Turn Back and it's a folk horror (I LOOOOOOVE FOLK HORROR AAHHHHH IM SO EXCITED IM SO EXCITED i need to watch way more folk horror movies for sure) and it's TOLD IN REVERSE it's gonna be so cool to see how that's gonna be executed, I love movies that you have to sit on and think about and then watch again and only Then do you only Start to get the full picture aaahhskgjjss that's what the wicker man is like to me (WHICH IS ANOTHER EXCELLENT FOLK HORROR FILM) and that's one of my favorite favorite favorite movies of all timeeeee and it's really funny to reflect on it because on my first watching of it I actually didn't like it very much but then I gave it another chance and THAT'S when it really clicked in my brain hehehe

and speaking of movies ashens has made, my mom said she wants to watch ashens and the quest for the gamechild AND ashens and the polybius heist with me!!!! yaaaaay!!!!!! (also if you want to watch them they are free on tubi!!!!! at least here in the USA they are :P I know tubi isn't the same from country to country but HOPEFULLY it's available for free on there in your country too!!) (I learned that because my british friend wanted to watch The Saint starring roger moore and I was like ohh it's on tubi for free!! but she said it wasn't available in her country even though it was on mine :( which sux :,( aaa) 

I actually had totally forgotten I introduced my mom to ashens lol, my mom doesn't like youtubers who shout and scream and stuff, and tends to have an aversion towards high-energy stuff in general, (which is a lot of what I like ESP MUSIC but it's ok) so I was like ohh I have the perfect idea!! since ashens is very mellow in all his videos and stuff I can watch them with my mom and so I showed some of his stuff to her and she likes it!!!! 

which I had completely forgotten about when I was showing her the trailer for polybius heist xP I didn't think she knew who he was bc I forgot I showed him to her so I was like oooo you wanna watch this cool heist movie with me so bad oooooooo 

and she was like ok!! and i was like HUH WHAT REALLY ?! and then I told her about the quest for the gamechild n she said she wanted to watch that one first (since it came out first) so I'm soooo excited to watch both of them with her x3 

and then I came back later and I was like mamaaaa I need help making a financial decision :P which was y'know me buying a perk to support the funding for turn back . and TL;DR she was like "you should treat yourself" bc I don't buy things for myself very often.. she was like "it's almost valentine's day you can be your own valentine" WHICH.... TRUE!!!!!!!! I can't remember her wording but she said something like "imagine if you had a partner what you'd buy for them" and iwas like .......... ur right....... I am my own partner........ and I do buy things for my friends quite a bit so... xP might as well get something for myself ur right........ SO IM GETTING THE ASHENS RETRO DVD COLLECTION!!!!!! AAAAHHH!!!!!! IM SOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!! 

that's actually quite an emotional thing to me... (in a good way) 

because like y'know I haven't been an adult for very long, I graduated high school literally not that long ago and I haven't been in the workforce for super long y'know so I never really like.... idk I did get money as a gift sometimes and I'm not gonna act like I didn't bc I am grateful, but it's not the same as like... actually Consistently Making Money and Having Money To Spend y'know? so whenever I saw youtubers advertise their own merch I was always like "ohh this looks cool but I don't really have that kinda money to throw around this much" so it was always like "damn. looks cool" and left it at that

and I thought that was what was gonna happen with the retro dvd collection too!!! bc the perk to get it is freaking expensive!!!! BUT LIKE...!!! I'M AT A POINT IN MY LIFE WHERE I CAN SPEND THAT MONEY EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE AND IT NOT BEING A PROBLEM!!! WHICH IS CRAZYYYYYYYYYY LIKE I'M ACTUALLY GOING TO GET IT. THIS REALLY COOL LIMITED MERCH THAT'S LIKE SUPER EXCLUSIVE AND IS GONNA BE REALLY COOL AND IT'S SIGNED BY ASHENS TOO AAAHHHH AND IT'S JSUT. IT'S SUCH A UNIQUE FEELING OF SEEING SOMETHING REALLY COOL AND KINDA VAGUELY DAYDREAMING ABOUT HAVING IT BUT JUST DISMISSING IT BC UR USED TO DISMISSING STUFF LIKE THAT BUT THEN YOU REALIZE THAT YOU'RE AT A POINT WHERE YOU ACTUALLY CAN GET IT. LIKE IT'S AN ACTUAL POSSIBILITY NOW. AAAAAAHHHHHHHH I have so much to look forward to which I'm really grateful for :,3
