So what if we mix the scene with a Lone Avian Reader of choice, she lost her chicks due to a situation and she managed to snag a next one that just so happens to be a human (dun, dun, dun)

And if that human was in danger and she just swooped in and straight to that line ready to drag who ever decided to mess with her adopted little one(I'd say with one of the boys who decided they were curious and the child got scared btw this isn't frisk who is taken as her chick)

(she's a lone Avian because she lost her flock and was the only one to survive(Due to the lore about all that about the Avian) when her chicks hatch they were promptly killed by passing poachers also it'd be better if you'd make her like a large predator of sorts because this kinda fits the scene ngl)

what I mean: in Mulan (1998), during the Bring Honor to Us All sequence one of the women sings “then you’ll see/once we’re through/boys will gladly go to war for you”; then, later on when they’re trying to bust open the entrance to the palace and Mulan arrives saying “guys I’ve got an idea”, the circle closes and the boys follow her with no hesitation, because they’ve seen throughout the movie that she is a good strategist and she’s got the best ideas out of the whole lot of them. They do gladly go to war for her, but not for her external beauty and femininity like the woman intended. This is why that movie is such a masterpiece of contemporary cinema and-

the ballad of songbirds and snakes. oh my lord. i don't know why but i LOVED that movie sooo much.

Cornelius fucking Snow. he may be my favorite character in the entirety of the hunger games series. not because i think he's a good person, he's absolutely horrible and twisted, but he is so entertaining. like he said, he's the victor. he never really lost at any of the games he played, even in the original series. and he puts on a show. i absolutely adore his character, because he's so so horrible but he's so so intriguing.

He's a snake. He poisons his enemies, his friends, anyone who gets in his way. He'll sneak up on you, he is charming and manipulative and he's good at it. But not only is he a snake, He's also the snakes in the arena. they killed all the remaining tributes, excluding lucy grey. but they still surround her, cover her, smother her but they don't kill her. and snow says that it's her singing that's stopping them from hurting her, even though that's a lie. and in the end, when her song turns into screams, he pulls the trigger. and even if it didn't kill her, he still poisoned her too.

i don't know if any of that makes sense but his character is so incredibly done, i loved that movie.

also lucy grey's songs in the bar are all such bops

I went through a ROLLERCOASTER of emotions my friend 😭 Lynn Painter is a genius and I love her taste in music. But OMFG this book!!!!😭 there was so many great parts that I loved, laughed and cried to. I think it was chapter 14, but omg when she was in that turmoil state of losing everyone around her( like the main protagonist usually ends up in after everything gets thrown in their faces). I felt her pain when she was just by herself. Wes asking Alex to prom 😭😭😭, the secret area where she was planing on confessing to him after the dance, then it got ruined, then Lynn Painter did a 180 and gave us the exact scenes but in WES POV!!!😭😭🤧 how do I function after this??? This sequel needs to release faster. I have never eaten up a book as fast as I did with this one. I felt so bad anytime Wes was like “yeah…we wouldn’t be right for each other. That’s crazy!” 🥺😭 also from Wes pov, I loved how Lynn added the fact that Alex liked someone else so it felt like two friends really pinning over people they ‘couldn’t’ be with. I loved that Alex turned out to be cool
