For those who have watched the underrated gem that is Iroduku, I’ve had a headcanon that Yuito is ace ever since I watched it two years ago. At this point, after watching it 2 more times and analyzing every detail of Yuito’s character and his romance with the female lead, no one can convince me otherwise. I could write a whole essay on this, from him literally being a walking embodiment of the ace flag half of the time to so many other subtle (and even unsubtle) signs that I, as someone who is ace, picked up on. Riddles bois- Floyd or the others are always by riddles side when his mom is involved and drag him away the minute his mom says anything remotely rude. Caters siblings are just there for the tea and everyone of them is now adopted by Floyd's parents and also Cater said multiple times, "So when are you gonna file that restraining order because it's aay too far way rn, lovely."

Epel 5- Cheka is there so he just goes and hangs out with the Epel 5 for the day since his dad is all caught up talking with the other royal families. Cheka brings up that kinda makes him sad and Ruggie gives him a hug and says, "Hey, were your family now, you don't need to be sad about that." Jack then picks him up and puts him on his shoulders. Epel, Ruggie and Deuces parents have now adopted their new nephew as family and the family day is just happy

Rookvilneige- they spend the day with Rooks family solely because they wouldn't let Vil or Neige leave cuz they had so many questions. Not that Vil or Neige minded because it got them away from the press and Vils mom. Vil completely forgets the time until someone mentions it and Rook just shrugs, puts his head on his bfs laps and goes, "Well, I think this is just as much family as we need, don't you agree, Mes amours?" (My loves) and Vilneige smile, nod and go back to watching a sitcom with Rooks siblings while they just go, "Awhh!"

Idiazulmal- Mrs Ashengrotto has officially adopted Idia and Malleus (Ortho too ofc) and she sorta reminds me of this one Yuri on ice hc that I read where Yuuris mom would refer to Victor as her son and it would make Victor so happy because he didn't really have that with his family. Ye, that's Idia and Malleus if we didn't count his grandma. Everyone is so confused when they see Malleus talking to her any other time like, "Now my my boy isn't giving you any trouble is he?" "No ma'am, he would never." While lil Malleus helps her carry in groceries (I just realized the house is prolly underwater.. they own a on land house now)

Jamikaliace- Yeaah they mainly just sneak off and hang out with Najma and Rashad because Kalim and Jamil don't wanna deal with the royals alot today and after the events of the Ace fanfic... Aves family relationship has been rocky. When they walk into Heartslabyul, they find a cake that Trey made in a container and on the lid was a note that said, "If your family is being crappy, just know that Heartslabyul is your family, we love and care about you.-From Trey To- Ace, Kalim, Jamil" and all of them had the biggest smiles while they ate that red velvet cake

(Its late, I'm immature and this is their new ship name) Arie and Esthers bitches- So, as I stated, Sebeks parents are superstitious of vampries so while speaking with them for a short window if time there's just a bst on their sons shoulder and Sebeks mom is trying to tell him and Sebek is just acting clueless while petting Esther and feeding him lil raisins (idk) Arie isn't at RSA with his dad for obvious reasons, so at dinner with Diasomnia and the parents, Lilia makes an announcement and said the following during the announcement, "Now, as you all know, I am Silvers father and have done nothing but love and cherish his sexuality and gender identity and I have come to accept his partners as my children all the same. If any Diasomnia students or any of Silvers partners are not getting that same love for who you are, I am your dad now." And sits back down with a roar of applause and since Sebeks parents are sitting there, Arie, Silver and Esther all collectively went, "Fuck it" and kissed him

You know what, I feel like it could be nice to share the aro headcanons we have? With or without justification (one isn’t needed but sometimes it’s fun explaining, especially when the hc is rationalized in our head). 

So, here I go! I mostly watch anime so that’s where my headcanons are going to come from, but feel free to add from any media ^^

Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka! She’s so aro-coded seriously, and it’s not like the other characters are, it’s just Madoka. I love her so much (and relate immensely to her and the way she considers relationships). 

Akane Tsunemori from Psycho-pass, it’s basically canon right? This one headcanon is validated by my alloro friends too. 

All Might from boku no hero academia. “What” you ask. He’s over 50 and no romance in his life. That’s pretty aro to me.

Todoroki, Tsuyu, Momo, Jirou, Koda, basically a lot of the bnha kids. Just because I love them. There’s no other reason. Okay I feel Jirou, especially. Also Deku arospec. Because I can say that.

Yuuri from Yuri on ice is def arospec. Because two crushes in 24 years isn’t alloromantic. (Also, he’s definitely demisexual, and m-spec. That one is canon. Eat a lego biphobes)

Yurio from...Yuri on ice is aro. Just because. Also, “inconditional love” was his love for his grandpa aaaah it made my heart flutter I feared so much it would again be romantic but no, his agape is family. 

Nagisa from Assassination Classroom is aro! Because I fucking love him. Also no romance in his story. I’m love.

Isaac and Miria from Baccano! are aro because they’re just written that way. Also in a qpr. Don’t fight me I’m going to win. Ennis is also arospec. Chane too. 

Chihaya from Chihayafuru is aro/arospec. Cause she doesn’t get romance.

Shizuo and Anri from Durarara!! are both aro. I love them so much. None of them get romance, in fact Anri doesn’t get love at all *for plot reasons* and manages to get love through her love for her friends. Shizuo’s friendships are the best also. 

Kumiko and Reina from Hibike!Euphonium are aro/arospec. Reina’s crush probably isn’t romantic and just heteronormativity transforming admiration into romance. And Kumiko isn’t interested in romance and doesn’t get it. They’re also in a qpr just because I want them to. 

All characters from Houseki no Kuni. Because it’s kinda canon. Romance isn’t even a concept for them so. Love is just that, love. Romance doesn’t exist in their world. 

Shun from Kimi to Boku is aro/arospec. I don’t care that they gave him a fleeting crush on some secondary female character, outside of that he’s 100% aro-coded and this crush didn’t make sense anyway. 

Kino from Kino no Tabi is aro. I...don’t think any explanation is needed, if you’ve seen the anime you probably headcanon her as aro too.

Juri from Kokkoku is aro. Romance isn’t a subject for her sooo. 

Tanaka-kun from Tanaka-kun wa itsumo kedaruge is aro. Doesn’t get romance, isn’t interested. 

The whole main cast of ace attorney is aro/arospec. Honestly it’s difficult not to headcanon them as such. Also Phoenix and Edgeworth are in a QPR. 

Is Layton arospec? I say yes. The Layton main cast is. Katrielle is too. You get the vibe. 

Lucius from Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword is arospec. No one knows that game but I don’t care it’s important for me okay

That ace bs is the biggest bs I've seen in a long time. I lowkey hc Yuuri as ace bc that's how I see him. I see a lot of myself in him, even down to how he reacts with people. That is called good character writing if you can connect so strongly. It doesn't take anything away and it's certainly not meant as an insult. I mean the only thing canon is that they are in love with each other and are engaged. They can be anything else except straight, up to and including ace, bi, or pan. But also bc they hc one thing, it doesn't mean they negate another person's view. One does not supersede the other. Ace and bi people are tired of being called racist and homophobic, too. Some are lashing out bc they are getting called nasty names bc they do what fandom does and see an aspect of themselves in a fictional character.

I can’t really see anyone but Seung Gil really fitting well into the lifestyle of a Jedi so I probably wouldn’t put any of them as Jedi if I was doing a star wars AU. If we’re talking prequels I’d have them all be involved politically, probably Viktor as a senator and also royalty from one of the really influential and large planets or systems. And Yuuri from a smaller backwater planet who’s only just been elected to the senate and gets very drunk one banquet from nerves and turns the boring world of politics upside down for Viktor! Yurio would probably be one of Viktor’s aides and training to follow in his footsteps. Phichit and Chris would also be Senators along with the other characters.

If we’re talking Original era definitely flying ace Viktor who works for the rebels and Yuuri who hates living under imperial occupation and joins the rebels as a rookie to fight against the empire. Viktor sees his potential as a pilot and takes him under his wing (ha!). And if we’re talking sequels probably something similar excpet fighting against the First Order and not the Empire. All the other characters would be in some way involved with the Rebellion too.

Can I ask a straight up question? Would it still be wrong to hc yuuri as demisexual (as in only feeling sexual attraction to someone he has an emotional connection with)? Because it's not flat out ace but it is aspec and it's not erasing his attraction to men. I'm not trying to start shit bc I'm demi and mlm and I genuinely wanna know bc that's how I hc yuuri.

Yuuri is shown  to be sexually attracted to victor during the sochi banquet, well before he knows him, so to me at least headcanoning him as demi ignores that, and is kinda iffy. at the v least if anyone has that headcanon they should consider why theyre dismissing that scene.

I'm also procrastinating, so have a headcanon! Yuuri's called Japan's late-blooming ace, so I hc he didn't land his first quad until he was 20--like Pitchit. Yuuri's actually Pitchit's real fs role model, because he's seen how much his bff struggled to reach the level he's at and how long it took him to get there. Yuuri is the reason Pitchit has such unshakeable confidence that he can accomplish anything if he works and dreams hard enough :)

About the fetishization of mlm/wlw post you reblogged that talked about the 'Yuri is Ace' headcanon, I just want to add my opinion. I'm Ace, and I relate to Yuri a lot, so I headcanon him as ace (but not a sex-repulsed ace) for that reason. And I know there was a big uproar in the fandom about that a little while ago, and tbh it made me feel super uncomfy. I do get the point that they're making, but ace representation is almost non-existant, so it's nice to see a character that resembles me.

i understand that, i really do and i am sympathetic to the fact that ace ppl do face various identity issues and look for representation in themselves. as a bisexual fan there’s a dearth of characters that resemble me as well and i feel that. i get that a lot of this is coming from desire to see ppl’s own selves represented, and for the most part that is something i entirely support.

but do you also understand why it makes gay ppl uncomfortable considering how gay sexuality is still condemned, fetishized, and poorly represented – if it ever is? it’s not like we get a lot, either. especially when crossed w yuuri’s race and the fact that he has a chronic mental illness? do you also understand that it’s nice to see ourselves represented, too? how really fucking revolutionary and refreshing it was to see a whole arc around a gay character’s growing comfort with his physical sexuality and done in a way that was pretty relatable and not gross or fetishized or controversial in-universe at all? 

it was rly only ever yuuri that i saw who had the huge clamor for ace headcanons – except occasionally phichit, a dark-skinned asian man. why not any of the european characters? (and yeah “but katsudon” but like… as a sexual wlw i’m ngl sometimes i’d really rather just fantasize about food too lmao) his race and his sexuality are so so not insignificant here. i know that ace ppl can be gay too, but this really is abt gay sex and sexuality and why a lot of gay and/or non-white fans are as equally upset abt the predominance of ace yuuri hcs. gay fans made an uproar bc they had big reason to feel upset about it.

normally i don’t think sexuality hcs are in any way harmful bc they’re ofc born almost entirely out of ppl wanting to see themselves represented, and that’s great!! i completely support that! i do it myself all the time. but when ur taking a canon mlm character and applying hcs, there’s a little bit more nuance that needs to go into it. again i truly do understand the desire to see urself represented, and i don’t think these hcs were necessarily coming out of malice nor intent to do harm.  but that post makes really, really good point and it’s important to be aware of it.

on top of everything, im pretty sure yuuri doesnt have a canon confirmed sexuality other than 'likes viktor'? and he didnt understand the concept of sexual desire until it was compared to food, so hcing him as aspec seems pretty in line with canon to me. like... i could say its acephobic to ignore that lack of sexual desire and hc him as other sexualities but i wont bc im not an arse who thinks everything's about me

People have different sexualities. People have different experiences. So different people watching yoi, looking at Yuuri’s character, are gonna view him differently from one another. Different people are gonna have different interpretations of his character and of his arc. Many of them because they’re comparing his character/arc to their personal lives and experiences.

I’ve see ace people say “Yuuri not understanding the concept of eros until he compared it to his favorite food is very relatable.” That’s valid.

I’ve seen gay people say “a lot of gay people don’t realize they’re gay until they’re older, and I think Yuuri is the same.” That’s valid too.

I’ve seen bi people hc him as bi because it’s implied that he used to have a crush on Yuuko. That is also valid. 

While I personally hc Yuuri as bi, I completely respect people who hc him as ace or gay. And I’m not gonna tell them they’re wrong or they’re “something-ist/phoboic” for having a different headcanon that me.

Because whether Yuuri is gay or bi or ace, he’s still in love and in a relationship with Victor in canon. And someone else’s headcaon, someone else making hc posts or drawing art or writing fics of Yuuri as their respective (sexuality hc) isn’t gonna change the fact that Victuri is canon.
