Context: Giving an info-dump answer on “Is Wes alive” (and is Fish alive as an after-thought) This was gonna be a discord reply but I don’t wanna spam the server so I wrote it here
It's definitely ambiguous if either Wes or Fish are gonna survive till the end of the comic (in the distant, distant future) but I feel that's a given with any character in Lackadaisy including our main folks just because of the tone Tracy's going for in her writing. Her writing style has always gone for the implicit (and she's mentioned how she writes like that in her live streams), so she's not going to tell us whether any characters gonna be safe in following chapters, it's what keeps suspense and high stakes right?
I am on the fence if Fish is gonna make that car crash, but the Wes pic I found with him climbing out of the bushes is from "preview" where you can definitely see those are the sketches she's already refined for future panels, hence the title preview. I feel Wes has to be alive at least for a couple more pages to continue that suspense since if he was killed there and then, there wouldn't be any lingering threat for Ivy in upcoming pages (or Elsa trying to call Viktor about her tryna do bootlegging).
When it comes to concept art, and how long Tracy's speculated about a character I like to believe that means she's got more planned out for him. If you do as much treasure hunting for crumbs like I do, you’ll find tid-bits of Tracy answering things like Wes having a frail ego, and a history of getting himself into fights and scuffles (mentioned on her Patreon); you’ll find in the discord Fable and Tracy explicitly saying how he’s a mamas boy and his mom also follows a life of crime; and in streams of Tracy and the team they’ll joke and poke about Wes’ on going inferiority complex and his need to prove he deserves respect. I don’t think Tracy, Fable or the others would have this much characterization for Wes if they didn’t plan on having him play a longer piece in the comic, having him there helps represent what the different shades of grey are in Marigold, and a glimpse of what the organization is from a distance (for the reader I mean).  So yeah, an upcoming character page / poster for him doesn’t seem like much in comparison to the pig farmers also getting a poster but explicitly dying; BUT I think if you add Wes’ concept art, amongst a lot of other photos, thoughts from Tracy in her Patreon, and thoughts from Fable and the staff in art streams he’s definitely feels like a side-character that’ll stick around longer. As for Fish... I’ve seen bare bone things about him unfortunately so that’s why I’m hesitant to believe he survived that car crash (I do hope he makes it tho, poor guy). But YEAH that’s my two cents.  Also images and text at the bottom for your enjoyment:

Good eye, @luckylazylurker They're just regular military grade ID Tags. So it includes name, identification number, blood type, faith for burial purposes, and US Mutant Guard designation. The usual.
Though ironically, the boys do not fall under the newly standardized definition of "Mutant," which only designates humans who have been mutated into creatures. NOT animals that have been mutated to become more human/sapient. An important distinction, considering one can get you enlisted in the USMG and the other will probably get you in a test tube.
Also bonus points to people who can figure out their middle names.

How long was it between when Iroh convinced Zuko to take up the Fire Throne, and Sozin's comet? A day? Less??
AU where Iroh convinces Zuko to be the next Fire Lord MUCH earlier in the series. Zuko, who hasn't been in formal education since was 13yo, understandably panics. He barely remembers his lessons on How To Be the Fire Lord, and they were all focused on how to rule during wartime. Not peace. What does an international peace treaty even LOOK like and how does one go about making it???? How does trade work when you're NOT trying to eradicate every other nation????
Book 3 Zuko spends all of his time teaching Aang firebending, interrogating the other members about their culture's traditions and politics, going on Blue Spirit journeys to raid any passing libraries, and reading everything he can get his hands on. He barely eats. He doesn't sleep. He's info dumping about the DRIEST political texts. The gaang are THIS close to holding an intervention or having Toph sit on him until he sleeps.

I just noticed, in your HHStargazers AU no one has pupils - except for Alastor and, if she's canon, Carmilla. Does that mean slit pupils are a sign of a demon in disguise?
Good eye! 👈👈👀 (Pun unintended.) Though I don't really plan for this trait to be repeatedly shared amongst the disguised demons. Mostly to not limit my designs to an obvious tell. But the slit pupils were indeed intentional flaws I added in for those two in particular. Because according to MY headcanon, both angels and demons are beings beyond human comprehension. Thus, it's only to be expected that even when they TRY to fit in, they'll be unable to keep EVERY aspect of their uncanny nature concealed. At best, they're imperfect imitations of what "normal" should be. It just so happens that in my AU, angels have a much easier time concealing most of their little quirks and oddities away than the sinners for my own reasons and as for WHY no one ever grew suspicious of the eye thing, it's because Charlie's curiosity could be easily curved. While for Lucius to point this out, he'll have to admit that he's been staring at Alastor's eyes a lot whenever he gets close enough to drown in the depths of his gaze and- EHEM!!! Which he's NEVER done, mind you! AhahaHAH- What slit pupils??? Never noticed those before. Nuh-uh. NO siree. NOPE! Lucius is normally so, SO normal about Alastors VERY much normal eyes in a TOTALLY normal amount of normal. A-ANYWAAAYS!!! Lucius would also be a hypocrite if he was bothered by them considering his own occupation and the people he's usually surrounded by (yet to be revealed). As for the other humans, Alastor doesn't care enough about their opinions for it to be a threat to him and people often just avoid the guy unnerving them with his creepy ass stare. So it's all good! Hope you like these bonus fun facts! 'Cause I have a feeling I left you with just as much questions as answers, but that's the fun of an ongoing story, yeah? Stay tuned~! 😉✨️ -Bubbly💙

idk i see cleo as a lesbian w/ comphet bc frida was the first person she showed genuine interest in.
with abe and jfk, they always chased after her. she liked the attention they were giving her.
with frida, cleo was the one to chase after her, which is something she never did with either jfk or abe or any other man beforehand. unless you count john darc but that was also joan... who's a girl and who cleo implied she wouldn't mind hooking up with.
and also... cleo is attracted to frida outside of her appearance and her giving her attention... she became attracted to frida because of who she is. because of her genuiness and how confident she seems in herself even though she isn't considered conventionally attractive and is seen as the "weird girl".
with jfk, it was because he was hot and popular. with abe.. it was bc he was the first guy that was "nice" to her.

how the fuck do I explain the Qsmp to my parents
Like yea I'm just going to go disappear into my room for 5-7 hours on a perfect summer day to watch my favorite white cis 34 year old Minecraft streamer take care of eggs due to the fact they made the mother leave by blowing up a wall because they have the impulse control of fucking kindergarteners and also to watch him get dragged kicking and screaming into gay role play and having to put up with the government. Oh, and did I mention that this is why I randomly started learning spanish?
The islands main goal despite the government having conflicting ideologies is communication and connection! Sure they kidnaped a few people but they are making lifelong connections between the island residents despite language barriers!

ah yes my favorite duo 💃🕺 : centuries old eldridge horror and his ✨favorite man slut✨
close-ups and my ramblings under the cut (it’s a lot guys. i have a lot of feelings about them and i was just YAPPING 😫)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yall really ate up my last post with Nightmare which omg thank u guys so much for that 🥺
now here’s more 😈
anyway
slutty manservant isn’t the only outfit Killer has, but it’s definitely his favorite lmao (the amount of times he’s been asked if he’s a Lust variant is crazy 💀. don’t get me wrong tho they r besties 💅)
the trench coat vibe was also definitely the way to go with Nightmare and i just 😫
now what’s their dynamic?
i definitely feel like my version of Nightmare and Killer are very much a “talks and listens” duo like shown with the chibi little guys
honestly tho, at first their relationship was strictly business and transactional, but the more time they spent together, the more comfortable they got in each others company and eventually became friends and equals and maybe more
and i feel like during all of that it’s just the two of them. Murder and Horror don’t show up until waaay later once Killer and Nightmare’s relationship has already been established
and no their relationship (whatever it may be, romantic or not i’ll be honest i still haven’t decided 🥲) isn’t toxic, as how i c my Nightmare isn’t anything like cannon Nightmare if that wasn’t already clear
my Nightmare, once free from the rage fueled haze of his corruption, is actually rather calm, collected, and dare say kind in his own way (he is a man of action and very few words)
he doesn’t create negativity out of malicious intent, but rather out of necessity, and actively will comfort those who are greatly struggling, which is how he first came into contact with Killer, seeing him isolated in his dying world
Killer was the first person Nightmare had attempted to “comfort” per say, and was freshly free from his corrupted mentality, hence, y he wasn’t very good at it lol. also, the corruption was reason he hadn’t gotten to Killer sooner in the first place, as he as actively enjoying the suffering Killer was going through at the time. if that makes sense???
anyway, sure they might have been cold to each other at first, with a lack of comforting on Nightmare’s part which somehow turned into a partnership?? but nothing was ever abusive within their relationship
i feel like the turning point for them would be that Nightmare admits to Killer in a moment of vulnerability that he was the first and only person to treat him like he wasn’t some, abomination. monster. freak
he’s never judged him based on his poor past actions, nor is role/duty
he accepts him. and all of him. fully and with all of his flaws not that he has any
(god i love them)
i do feel like if they were in a romantic relationship it’d be rather casual in a way that makes it clear there’s something going on between them, but they’re definitely not the type for pda (veeerrry rarely and only in front of people the trust. it’s a different story when they’re in bed tho 😏)
they’re the old married couple that banters and teases each other but with much more sexual tension lol
ok that’s enough yapping from me haha
if you’ve made it this far genuinely ur the best like wow 🥹
this was a looooot of nonsense so thanks for taking the time to read it all
i’ll be honest i still have more to say but like 💀 nah im cut off-
maybe someday tho…
alright bye 😘

Hiiiiiiiiii I'm in LOVE with your Scarecrow and Riddler designs SO MUCH!!!! They bring me major serotonin when I see them and your Scarecrow has changed how I think of Scarecrow ^^
I'd love to learn more about what he is/what he can do! Is he a metahuman, since you say that he produces his own fear toxin? Where in his body does he produce it at? (Is it like a special little organ like snakes have for venom?) Does he only produce it through his saliva or can he also produce it through his blood? (Or is he just constantly producing fear toxin, and you can't stab him or else you'll get it all over you?) Oh! And that mouth thing you showed him doing when him and Eddie were kids, is that his "true form"? Sorry for all the questions, im just so curious to learn more ^^'
Anywho I love your art, it makes me so happy whenever I see it!

Soulmates in Wishbone, or how I think the soulmate trope would shape the culture of a Swapfell Underground.
Disclaimer: worldbuilding is not one of my strengths lol, so take this more as rambly what-if speculation than anything concrete. If I end up contradicting any of this in the fic, shhh no I didn't.
@blurry-palmetto wanted to hear more about soulmates in my swapfell soulmate au fic Wishbone, so instead of replying to their comment like a normal person, here’s a whole long ass post below the cut!
Here’s a recap of what we know about how soulmates work in the fic:
The soulmate bond is solidified by physical touch.
Soulmates share HP, LV, and EXP.
Soulmates can share physical sensation.
Soulmates can access each other’s thoughts, feelings, and Intent.
They can share their own of all of the above with their soulmate.
They can also prevent their soulmate from accessing these things.
Both of the above are learned skills that require effort to execute. Without knowing how to be intentional with the bond, you just kinda end up transmitting everything to your soulmate all day long.
Soulmates are unable to FIGHT each other.
The death of one soulmate results in the death of the other(s).
Extended time away from your soulmate(s) results in soulmate sickness. For Papyrus, this manifested as feelings of itchiness, restlessness, insomnia, palpable anxiety. Increased physical distance between him and the reader worsened these symptoms.
Soulmates are a strictly monster thing: all monsters have a soulmate, and those soulmates can be other monsters, or they can be humans. There are no human/human soulmate bonds. Two humans can be soulmates with the same monster, though.
Any number of people can be soulmates in many different configurations. In Wishbone, the reader is in a wishbone, V-shaped bond with Sans and Papyrus, where they’re the middle bit and the brothers branch off from them.
Before the events of the first chapter of Wishbone, there were no mage/monster soulmate bonds.
Nobody has ever survived an attempt to break a soulmate bond.
For Wishbone, it was important to have two differing cultural views on soulmates because I wanted there to be a huge disparity between how Sans and Papyrus approach the bond compared to the reader. This choice was made for a few reasons, but mostly for maximum angst potential lmao (the driving force behind most Wishbone related decisions). I wanted the soulmate phenomenon to be deeply respected and revered by the monsters, a cultural tenet akin to children wearing stripes and respect for the monarch. A Big Deal, basically. This is juxtaposed with the reader’s disdain and ignorance - they have no idea how any of this works because soulmates weren't a Thing before the barrier broke, and they don’t really care to know, because the bond is nothing but a Big Problem they plan on rectifying. Yay to miscommunication and misunderstanding!
Now, for the monsters to feel that reverence, there has to be some advantage to having a soulmate Underground, right? Particularly in the cut-throat environment of Swapfell (or any Fellverse in general) - if this was just another glaring weakness ready to be exploited, everyone would do their best to avoid meeting their soulmate.
This brings us to:
Soulmates in a Fell Underground; what’s so good about having a soulmate, anyway?
First off, let’s talk about the downsides.
The biggest one is if your soulmate dies, that’s it for you too. You share HP and if you’re both drained, you’re dust. No second chances. This is obviously a massive, easily exploited weakness, and one that I think would’ve shaped the way soulmates cohabitate and interact with each other. I mention in the second chapter of Wishbone that typically the weaker monster(s) will move in with the stronger; this is one of those things that would’ve arisen to protect against this weakness. I think collars would exist for a similar reason in this universe.
Soulmate sickness. An issue if you’re separated from your soulmate, but it would’ve been much rarer Underground. In terms of sheer physical space available, it’d be pretty hard to get physically far enough to cause major issues, and like Papyrus says in Wishbone, soulmates don’t try to avoid each other. The situation in the fic is practically unprecedented.
For the stronger monster, you’re now responsible to ensure the survival of someone(s) weaker than you. Kinda hard to just look out for number one now. You’ve got a whole other person/group of people to keep safe and happy. That's a lot of pressure!
For the weaker monster, you might now find yourself the target of someone seeking to hurt your stronger soulmate(s).
All of that really sucks. There’s gotta be some pretty good benefits to offset all of those downsides.
And there are!
You get to share HP, EXP, LV. We’ve touched on the negatives, but there’s a huge advantage to this too. Not everyone’s bound to a soulmate. In a fight with an unbound person vs a bound one, the bound one theoretically has access to double the power.
Having a soulmate gives you a built-in ally, someone you can trust to have your back. They’ll always have your best interests at heart, because their interests are yours. Underground, this would’ve been an advantage to have over your unbound counterparts who can’t really trust their allies fully.
There’s also all the stuff Papyrus said when he was telling the Second Mage about the origin/purpose of soulmates. Monster souls are composed of love, hope, and compassion, and they inherently seek connection with others. He explains that soulmates have existed for as long as monsters can remember, as a way for souls to find individuals who can fulfill their need for hope, trust, love, and compassion. In an Underground where finding this with others was scarce, this is a big bonus. (As a side note, I think this adds a new layer to Sans’ glove wearing. The gloves actively prevent him from touching others and finding a soulmate. For a tactically minded person who is very aware of the strategic bonus of a soulmate, it says a lot that he's purposely passing up on all of those benefits.)
And that’s just all the purely practical stuff. Finding your soulmate(s) is highly romanticised. A bright spot in the otherwise bleak Underground. The stuff of fairytales - literally, Sans talks about telling those stories to Papyrus in chapter 2. There’s a reason Papyrus is so excited to be a soulmate (note that he’s not fussed about who that soulmate actually is).
Okay, but now the barrier’s broken and everyone’s above ground. Now what?
Great question, hypothetical person!
Firstly: a whole lotta monsters find their soulmates in humans. Remember how monsters can have soulmates in monsters and/or humans? This means that lots of monsters Underground were unable to meet their human, above ground soulmates. Now that they're free, this changes. This is a mostly good thing for the monsters, but I'm sure that a lot of humans in pre-existing relationships now had to grapple with the fact that they're now telepathically bound to their literal soulmate after accidentally brushing hands at the grocery store.
In the wider context of human society, I think there’d be mixed reactions, but what’s more shocking, monsters having soulmates or the mere existence of monsters in the first place? I think by the time everyone gets over the monster thing, the whole monster soulmate thing would be a lot less crazy in comparison.
In the context of mage society - before Wishbone, this just wasn’t an issue, because everyone thought that monsters can’t have mage soulmates. We’re now dealing with the fallout from realising that isn’t the case in the fic.
Where does this leave us?
A fun angsty playground to play around in, full of pits and spikes and traps, in my opinion! There’s so much cultural stuff that the reader insert in Wishbone just doesn’t get. Rules and norms and expectations that they know nothing about and can't really learn on their own, because so much of this knowledge is passed down through oral storytelling.
This is just another issue the characters need to contend with - they aren’t on equal footing for a million reasons, and one of those reasons is that they all know and believe different things about the bond and nobody is communicating about any of it. Well, Papyrus tried, but was shut down immediately. Which makes sense - he tried because he wants to have a proper, close bond with the reader, the kind he's wanted his whole life, and the reader shut it down because they have no interest in any of that. Not to mention round-the-clock glove wearing Sans, who has some pre-existing Issues with the idea of having a soulmate altogether.
But like Papyrus said, the supposed purpose of the bond is to help people get their fix of love, hope, and compassion, things that all three of them need if they ever want to be truly happy. In particular; Papyrus is desperate to be loved, and also doesn’t love himself; Sans has put so much space between himself and compassion as a protective measure over the years that it’s almost completely foreign to him, both feeling it for others (note that the Second Mage invokes reluctant compassion in him almost immediately, despite how much he hates them) and accepting it from those who care about him; and the reader, someone so focussed on building a better future for others, is completely without hope on a personal level because they see no future for themselves in the wake of the loss of their twin.
So, in theory, this whole soulmate thing could be good for all of them. I guess we'll just have to see if that's the case in practice.

In the Plain of Nysa (Trigun Greek Mythology AU)
Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Tumblr media
Priest of the Twins' Cult
Lives pretty much in the Sanctuary of Nysa by himself but gets occasionally visited by other Members of the Cult, his younger brother Livio or people in need of the Twin Gods' Blessings.
A (Kinda?) normal Priest living in his tiny Sanctuary offside from Civilisation on a small Island in the Aegean sea called Nysa.
His Duties for the most Part consist of Prayers and Sacrifices for the Gods And keeping the Temple and Statue of the Twins clean and occasionally doing a Ritual on thr Request of the odd Visitor.
Did not expect one of the Gods he is serving to be dropped off at his Temple by the goddess Meryl and her Satyr companion Roberto and to be stuck Body-Guarding said God but oh well here he is.
May Or May Not Regret Giving Vash That Short Chiton.
For more Information/lore about this AU just look at the in the plain of Nysa tag on my page or just send me an ask in my inbox.
Also shout out to my best pal Stephan for teaching me how to draw.
Additional Ramblings about the lore and WW’s design under the cut
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is btw what a Penennular Fibula looked like and I only now noticed that WW is wearing it wrong in my drawing 🥲 The needle is supposed to rest on the Bow of the brooch and not in the opening in the middle.
Also this Fanfic takes place approximately around the time of the Peloponnesian War (431-404 BCE), however Penennular Fibula were primarily worn by either Celts and Romans. So as you can tell while I am trying my best with historical research and keeping things somewhat historically accurate, there are still creative liberties being taken for this AU.
As for why this AU and Wolfwood‘s Sanctuary are called "in the Plain of Nysa“: It‘s actually a reference to the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, aka the most complete version of the Myth of Hades and Persephone we have. In this Hymn it says
Tumblr media
In other words it was "in the Plain of Nysa“ in which Persephone was kidnapped by Hades. On a fun note, Nysa is actually not a real place anywhere in Greece. It was instead meant to symbolise "a place far away“ the same way we tend to say "in a kingdom far away“ when starting to tell a fairytale. However that did not stop some Ancient Greeks from guessing where Nysa might be located. Some thus point it to be situated somewhere in Macedon or today‘s Balkans, others claimed it was around the area of the Black Sea or…. That Nysa was on the Island Naxos. Which is why in early drafts the Sanctuary was meant to be located on Naxos itself but as I have never been to Naxos in my life it felt disrespectful to the actual people who live there so I just changed it to the Sanctuary of Nysa being on a lone non-existent Island near Naxos instead.
On a smaller note Nysa was also said to have been the Birthplace of Dionysos, with his name meaning "God of Nysa“. In other Stories however Nysa was the name of a mountain on which Dionysus had started his cult.
I am also taking some creative liberties with how Priesthood functioned in ancient Greece. Unlike how it works in Catholicism and other religions, Priests in ancient Greece were not a separate social class. Heck apart from a few Cults and sanctuaries, being a priest was not even seen as a main occupation of job for that reason. And a priest usually wasn‘t chosen by some council, but in many cases you just paid a certain amount of money to become a priest. They did not even have an official attire like catholic or shinto priests do nowadays. However they were still expected to dress somewhat formally compared to WW‘s Exomis, which is basically the ancient greek equivalent of a priest showing up in shorts, flip flops and an old Tshirt.
The Twins Cult in this AU is by the way HEAVILY based on the Eleusinian Mysteries, aka the Mystery Cult dedicated to Demeter and Persephone. I will some day make a post dedicated to them and priesthood in ancient Greece as a whole.
And yes I still fucking hate drawing feet and shoes.

I wonder what kind of schedule do the Nevermore kids have in YMU universe 🤔🥺 poor babies are so busy and Enid has so many clubs and activities on top, how long do you keep her in school for? ❤️🙏🏻 😂
I have an excel spreadsheet with their class and club schedules, same as I did for HAA. Typically their school day runs from 8-230. Breakfast at 7, lunch at 1, dinner at 6.
Enid has dance on Tuesdays at 3, Art on Wednesdays at 4. Dance club runs two hours, art only one.
Wednesday coincides Enid's busy days with when she sees Eugene for Bee club, so also Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Sometimes she'll sit with him if Enid has to work.
They fence Monday, Thursday, and Friday, directly after school, usually for two-three hours, depending on whether they are preparing for competition or just practicing.
Enid isn't working at the Weathervane right now because she's been so busy worrying about the poe cup, Wednesday's birthday, the book, AMONGST OTHER THINGS 😂, or she'd be working three days a week 4-8 close.
Because Wednesday is Wednesday, she usually gets all her work done immediately after classes or clubs, which also put Enid in the habit of getting her work done immediately after classes on her free days. Then they get dinner.
So those two can start actively fucking around with each other around 7pm. HOPE THIS HELPS 🤣
