I have a lot of ideas

Watching the TMNT AU competition and the Peepaw competitions and seeing all the different ways people see how different stories could turn out, while can be overwhelming at first, it's helped me want to show own ideas for different AUs. And I really really want to share my ideas with everyone, even if it's only interesting for a few people. (And yes, these AUs are for ROTTMNT, I love these kids so much)

So right now I only have two AU worlds that I've been kinda building for the past few months and I'm still working out details. One is a separated AU and the other is an apocalypse AU (that is kinda turning into an alternate way for how the movie could have played out and slightly kinda into a peepaw AU).

The separated AU is what if it was Leo and Raph that were missing and Donnie and Mikey were raised by Splinter.

The turtles are with Splinter for a scavenging trip and Splinter has the tots in a backpack while he's gathering food from dumpsters. Leo gets out of the backpack and Raph quickly follows after Leo, leaving Donnie and Mikey stuck in the bag. Then someone comes into the alley and Splinter runs, not noticing he's missing two turtles. Raph tries to lead Leo back to their dad but they can't find him and instead are found by the Foot Clan. The Foot Clan recognizes the turtles as Yokai and make a plan to use the turtles in a ritual to extract the Empyrean from the turtles, which would result in killing them. A recruit assigned to watch them quickly grows attached and runs with the tots, hiding somewhere in the city.

When Splinter realizes Raph and Leo are lost he tries to look for them, but they're gone and after months of looking comes to the conclusion that his missing sons are dead. Instead of falling into a deeper depression he represses down his feelings and focuses all his energy into raising the two sons he has left.

Meanwhile the now ex Foot Recruit is doing their best to raise two mutant turtles that they stole from the Foot Clan. They do what they can for Raph and Leo, bouncing from job to job and living in a rundown apartment building with their smuggled children. They don't have a lot but they put everything they can into raising Leo and Raph and, when they're a little older, training them to fight in case the Foot Clan ever finds them. They live in the same apartment building as April's family so Raph and Leo end up meeting April when they sneak up to the roof to play basketball one night when Raph's seven and Leo is six.

The turtles reunite through April. April's eleven, walking home from school one day when she sees two kids rooting around in the dumpsters. She walks up to them and asks what they're doing and they freak out and try to hide but April sees the green skin and the three fingered hands and is quickly reminded of Raph and Leo. The kids run to an open manhole cover and April chases after them, calling for them to come back. She's tries to tell them she knows kids just like them but they call her a liar, right until April pulls out her phone and shows them a picture of her with Leo and Raph. The kids are speechless, and April offers to introduce them to Leo and Raph but they refuse. April does get their names though, Donnie and Mikey, and April gives Donnie her phone number and promises to visit when she can and that if they want she'll still introduce them to Raph and Leo. April leaves the sewers and Donnie and Mikey head home to think about what happened while April goes to tell Raph and Leo what she saw.

I have a lot more ideas but that's the main concept so far. I'm calling this Missing Primaries, cause blue and red are primary colors. I haven't decided on Foot Recruit's name but I do have a bunch of little story ideas about the turtles growing up, both Raph and Leo and Donnie and Mikey.

The apocalypse AU is the one that I have the most planned out for right now. I was driving and listening to music when I got the idea, Why should Leo get most of the parental rights? and Casey couldn't have been the only apocalypse baby the family got attached to. Thus this AU was born.

It starts when Casey Jr is three and Donnie goes out on a simple scavenging mission with April and some other resistance members. They're attacked and Donnie separates from the group to buy them time to get to safety. In the fight Donnie's tracker is busted and they lose him for two weeks. Everyone is upset and about to give up hope of finding Donnie alive when Donnie's tracker starts working again. Leo, Raph, and Mikey rush out to meet Donnie and find him in a sinkhole pit. Donnie's banged up and missing half a leg, and has a three year old little girl attached to his side. Raph has to pick up the kid so that they can move Donnie cause the kid keeps hissing at them and tried to bite Leo when he got close.

They get both of them back to the base and have April handle the kid while they treat Donnie. The kid won't speak and April is trying to get them to open up when Cassandra walks into the room and asks April to watch Casey Jr for her. April tries to refuse when Cassandra just leaves Casey with her and disappears. April is fuming but Casey is already talking with the girl and the kid is quietly talking back to Casey, and April just watches the toddlers interact while taking notes on anything the kid says that might be important.

When Donnie wakes up in the med bay, he immediately starts calling out for V. His brothers are confused at first then Mikey quickly pieces together that V must be the kid Donnie was with. They tell Donnie the kid is fine and with April and Donnie tries to climb out of bed to find her, and falls over due to him missing half of one of his legs. Leo and Raph try to calm Donnie down while Mikey runs to find April and the kid. When Mikey finds them he tells April that Donnie's awake and the kid is demanding Mikey take her to Donnie, while also clinging to one of Casey's hands and refusing to let go. They take the kids to the med bay, where Donnie is still fighting his brothers trying to get out of the room, and the kid runs over to Donnie and tackles him as hard as she can (which isn't very hard). Donnie stops fighting as he hugs the kid and the kid starts crying. Donnie calms the kid down as the rest of them look at Donnie in shock, while Casey rushes over to Donnie and tries to help Donnie calm down his new friend.

After a while the kids are worn out and Donnie is back in the medical cot with both toddlers sleeping on him. Everyone has questions and when Mikey asks what's the kid's name Donnie explains that she didn't have one so he called her V. When asked what V stands for Donnie admits it's for Violet, and April refuses to let Donnie name this kid after color (just cause Splinter got away with it for a few years doesn't mean Donnie will). After a long talk and a look at an old baby book they name the kid Valerie and Valerie becomes Donnie's kid, just like how Casey is Leo's kid. (April and Cassandra do take over on child care when the boys are all busy but all the boys do their best to help raise both kids).

Casey and Valerie are fast friends and when Casey's fourth birthday is being celebrated Casey asks Valerie when her birthday is and she tells him she doesn't have one. Casey is upset by this and tells her that she can share his birthday then. Leo jokes that that would make them twins and, after they are told what twins are and how Leo and Donnie were twins, the toddlers cling to this idea that they are twins too. Donnie acts like he's pissed at Leo for giving the kids this idea but he secretly finds it adorable.

I have a whole timeline written out and story plot ideas but I want to keep those a surprise for later. I started calling this Donatello's Daughter and I have an alternate name for it too but that's for later. I do plan on writing about each of these AUs and posting about them some time in the future but right now I just want to get the ideas out there so maybe I can talk about them with anyone that is interested in knowing more about them.

Breath of the Sky: A year after Skyward Sword, the newlywed lovebirds are slingshot into the future just before the Calamity. They now have to navigate being in this place, revered as Hylia and the Hero of Myth, while BotW Zelda and Link figure out how the heck they’re supposed to accommodate and deal with it. Chaos and lots of drama ensue. Currently playing: the Lovebirds and the Anxious Duo travel together with the Champions to survey Hyrule and see the Divine Beasts.

Forsaken AU: Original AU with original characters. When Princess Zelda, known for her prowess with her magic and her confidence in her abilities, gets disturbing visions of an oncoming darkness, she tries to claim the Triforce for herself to protect Hyrule. However, the Triforce shatters at her touch as she isn’t worthy to wield all three pieces, and she inherits the Triforce of Power. Put out but not defeated, Zelda goes on a quest to find the fated Hero of Hyrule - she knows it’s usually a dude named Link, and he likely will bear at least another piece of the Triforce, so that’s two birds, one stone! Except… half the kingdom names their boys Link. But after going through half a bajillion Links, two of them are promising! One she can sense a strong magic in, even though he just says he’s a masseur and knows nothing about fighting. The other hardly says anything at all, but Sir Edgy and his faithful doggie companion can’t keep hiding his secrets from her forever.

Blood of the Hero: Ten years after the Calamity, the Shrine of Resurrection is damaged, leaving Link vulnerable and dying. Link’s parents, Abel and Tilieth, who were on the Great Plateau protecting the shrine, are now tasked with saving their son’s life by taking him to the Sheikah shrines across the land. Currently playing: Link’s still out of it but he’s about 5-6 hearts and one stamina vessel in and showing signs of improvement while his dad has a complete spiral from ten years of PTSD buildup and his mom tries to pick up the pieces and take care of them both. Oh, and Impa thinks they’re all insane.

The Imprisoning War: Millennia before Hyrule Warriors, Ganondorf attempts to steal the Triforce and it predictably shatters, starting a two year war that nearly destroys both Hyrule and the Gerudo. The other two Triforce piece bearers are HW Link’s predecessor, the half-Sheikah/half-Hylian named Link, who is madly in love with Ganondorf’s daughter and came to look at Ganon as something of a father figure, and Zelda, who has to overthrow her father to lead Hyrule to victory. Once Ganondorf is defeated, things only get worse for Link as he has to abandon Hemisi, the woman he loves who just helped him and Zelda defeat her father, and enter an arranged marriage with Zelda to save what’s left of their broken kingdom. (Backstory for Golden Mercy)

Golden Mercy: When Ganondorf returns during Hyrule Warriors, he’s on a mission to make things right, though what that means is beyond everyone around him. Kidnapping the Hero of Hyrule and telling him he’s protecting him from the Queen is not what anyone expected, and nobody can quite figure out what his ultimate goal is. Link sure is confused, though, and… starting tor realize there’s more to Ganondorf than just being a monster. Zelda, on the other hand, is quickly spiraling with panic and fear over losing her friend and Hero, as well as trying to protect her kingdom from such a threat that was so dangerous the previous Hero split his soul into pieces to prevent him from ever returning. (Lots of redemption arcs. Lots of them.)

Wild Spirit: When BotW Link is mortally wounded in the Calamity, Zelda decides that Hyrule can be saved more quickly if she lets the Spirit of the Hero be reborn in a new Hero rather than hope a potentially malfunctioning shrine can maybe heal her friend in a few decades and he might not even know what to do. BotW Link dies, but his spirit remains to guide the next Hero, a young man from Lurelin Village. This new Link is friends with his strange spirit companion, and slowly learns his destiny as he grows older. Now that he’s of age, he must take up th mantle of Hero of Hyrule, and his first task is to find the Master Sword, which was entrusted to his predecessor’s father, Abel.

Dad Squad: This one I share with @nancyheart11 and literally anyone else who wants to jump in and have fun with the Dads. When the Yiga use new magic to jump to different points in Hyrule’s history and kidnap Heroes of Hyrule, it’s up to their Dads to save them. Then again, Link doesn’t really need saving all that often, and putting a bunch of Links together is never a good idea for the bad guys, so the Links bust themselves out. But now they’re running around lost and confused, the Dads are still trying to find their Boys, and the Yiga are somewhere in the middle. As for their motives… well. There’s a dark magical mask, maybe a Bad Dad demon king, and a whole bunch of idiocy chaos.

LU in Healthcare: Basically what it says on the tin. The Chain is in modern land and they’re all involved in the world of healthcare! And somehow everyone tolerates my pittance of updates/lore.

Hero of Shadow: During the events of TotK, the demon king discovers the grave of someone he knew and loved dearly - a young Sheikah/Hylian warrior named Link. Using his powers, Gan resurrects him at a price, to ensure that his boy stays safe and loyal. Meanwhile, this young shadow warrior is trying desperately to break free of his father figure’s control while fighting his own feelings on the matter, and his only guide is a strange mystical voice that leads him to shards of a broken sword. In the surface, TotK Link is starting to figure out that something else is going on in the depths. (Essentially, I threw my Imprisoning War blorbos into TotK)

…I think that’s all of them. Wow, I have a lot of AUs lol. So much for brief. 🥴

Dan Feng/Dan Heng and the Aeons (1)

Note: This is all HC of what I think their opinions regarding the Aeons of Long, Lan, and Yaoshi until otherwise revealed.

"The Vidydhara, as a whole, do not forget our origins. The hatchlings of the present are not as devout as their seniors, but we cannot forget. Long existence is like a code etched deeply into our souls- A cycle we cannot escape from. Their gift...is both a blessing and a curse." -Dan Feng.

In general, Dan Feng respects Long and understands their importance to the Vidyadhara as a whole. As High Elder, he is required to partake in committees discussing his clan celebrations and give the final word where the planning is directed. In any important rituals, the leading role naturally falls to the High Elder to make sure it goes off without a hitch. Otherwise, in private, Dan Feng very little practices his faith. He holds Long, their Creator close to his heart. But, not so close he considers himself a devout worshipper compared to the other Vidyadhara. However, with the ongoing problem of the Vidyadhara species in slow decline and his personal issues- Dan Feng can't help resent Long just a little bit. After all, their blessing is starting to become more of a curse at this point. But how can he, a mortal, judge an Aeon? Not just any Aeon, but the Aeon of Permanence who given birth to the Vidyadhara. To reject Long, even deceased, is considered blasphemy.

"I do not share the Vidyadhara faith in Long. The reason...Well, I'm sure you understand why by now. Unfortunately, I am that man reincarnation. As long as I hold this power, my encounters with the Vidyadhara will not end here." -Dan Heng

Dan Heng has no love or hate towards Long. He acknowledges their existence, their importance to the Vidyadhara, and their relevance to him. He does not love Long, because he does not worship them- respect them, yes. He does not hate Long, because the ones who hurt him are their children. Besides, what reason does he have to hate an Aeon who ihas long passed away? Despite the Preceptors best efforts to educate him, Dan Heng obviously does not practice their faith in Long. If he must, it will be after the events in Xianzhou Luofu where he's learning more about their culture including the Vidyadhara. Something he never got to do during his imprisonment. Everything he learns and research will go into the databank. But also, it's helping Dan Heng understand more about a place he never saw as a home. Slowly, it may also help him gain a deeper understanding of his past incarnations knowledge and Long.

"The Reignbow Arbiter, unless summoned, has no reason to appear before us. We are their warriors, raising our weapons, and vowed to eliminate every last one of Yaoshi abominations. Yet, what honor can be gained for losing your life in this eternal war?" -Dan Feng

While Dan Feng is closer to Long than Lan, he respects them no less. The Reignbow Arbiter eternal pursuit against Yaoshi inspired the Xianzhou to take arms and follow them. Their beliefs aligned with Lan determination to eliminate the Abominations of Yaoshi and that hasn't changed even in the present.

Dan Feng is the High Elder of the Vidyadhara. Naturally, his first priority are his clan and the Xianzhou natives second. There are times when it is difficult to make a decision: to find a compromise. Because he is not only Vidyadhara, but he is also a soldier who spoke his vows to the Hunt as many others had done. The war he joins and fight is for the sake of his people AND the Xianzhou.

Is it conflicting when he follows Long and Lan? The simple answer is no, because there is no point in trying to understand what the Aeons are thinking (especially since Long has long passed.)

Dan Feng knows his priorities. It's in the present where his people rely on him for safety and guidance. It's where his friends/families, and his lovers (or fiances/spouse) matter the most to him.

He is the High Elder of the Vidyadhara Luofu, a member of the HCQ, a friend to a selected few, and...a lover to the most amazing people (Yingxing and Jing Yuan) in his life.

Dan Feng is never described as a person with feelings. But his heart, his human bleeds, seeing the loss in the endless war against the Abundance.

That's why he can never understand why so many see it as an honor to die fightning for their homeland. Not when they still have people waiting for them to return home.

And a part of him that he kept locked away resents Lan [Aeons] for this.

But again, Aeons are beyond mortal understanding. What does his opinion matter?

"Before I met Himeko, I was a wanderer. I followed the Hunt, because I felt like I was required to in order to redeem myself. Wherever I went, battles follow and I had to fight to survive. If an abomination of Abundance appeared...I felt compelled to fight and eliminate them. " -Dan Heng

Initially, Dan Heng believed if he followed the path of the The Hunt, then it would distance himself further away from Dan Feng. Not only that, but it would enforce his identity as "Dan Heng". The crimes of his past self had committed should've been absolved after he reincarnated. Yet, it didn't matter in the end as Dan Heng is punished for his past incarnation crimes. As for his opinion of Lan, Dan Heng will admit he is biased. He knows the consequences for seeking immortality; a monster. He agrees with Lan end goal- to kill Yaoshi. By extension, he also agrees with the Xianzhou cause as well. Dan Heng respects Lan and their ideals, but he does not walk the same path as their followers do. Because Dan Heng is an exile, marked as a criminal for a sin his past incarnation had done. But that's alright, because Dan Heng found his place in the universe as a Nameless on the Astral Express.

"Do not heed the words of Yaoshi worshippers. The Plague Authors mercy is a curse in disguise of a blessing. Their "love" is sweet on the tongue, but they're vile. A disease festering in your core. A parasite slowly eating away your life and sanity as your body rots." -Dan Feng

Dan Feng absolutely abhors Yaoshi, but more than that he hates himself for resorting to use a flesh of an Emanator of Abundance. But he believed at the time he was doing the right thing for the right cause. In the aftermath, within his prison, he feels only regrets and defeat...

"I do not agree with the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus. There's a reason why Yaoshi existence does more harm than good. They bring life, but they also sow discord and suffering. Dan Feng knew that, so why did he...?" -Dan Heng

Dan Heng is absolutely confused why his past incarnation committed one of the Unpardonable Sins. He abhors Yaoshi, any of their children are dead on sight.

Hi there! Would it be alright to ask about what your plans for the bnha magical girl were? No need to answer this if you still plan on going back to it ofc, but its been a few years since it updated and I know you mentioned in the past you had the general gist of it planned out, so I'm curious about where it would've gone from where you left off. Thank you for writing it btw, its still one of my favorite bnha fics to read :D

Mmmmmmmmm yeah at this point I don't think I'm ever going back to it. It's unfortunate, because I had some pretty extensive notes and a whole ~twist~ planned, and I figured my attention would circle back to BNHA someday, but it just never happened! So sure, I can give a loose summary of what I had planned.

I will say before I get into it that, like some other stories I've started in the past, it fell into a trap that I like to call "Canon But A Bit To The Left" which, as the name suggests, is a fanfic that's basically the exact same story as canon just with some superficial details changed. That's a big part of why I lost momentum, once I reached the part of the series that would've just been retelling canon events but with magical girls— I tried to get creative with it, but nothing fundamentally changed, so it wasn't all that much fun. As such, I'll primarily be focusing on what's actually different/The Twist, because that's what's fun to explain.

So! The twist is that Izuku has a quirk. It's the ability to grant Magical Girl Transformation Objects. He does not know he has this quirk, he's doing it completely subconsciously.

His own Transformation Pen manifested out of nowhere when he was like 4 years old, and it sat in a drawer somewhere until he rediscovered it. The general theme of the other people getting their pens is that something they did impressed Izuku somehow, causing him to subconsciously go "yeah this person is worthy of Power"— Uraraka fights a goose, Todoroki catches a mugger with his ice, and other stuff.

According to my notes, the plan was for Iida to get a pen too, during the Stain incident. Iida would refuse to have any part of the whole Magica stuff, though, because that's ILLEGAL. Izuku figures out that it's a quirk sometime before/during the whole training camp thing, and uses it intentionally for the first time as part of a plan to rescue Bakugou— he can sorta sense where his "chosen" are, or at least their pens.

I went back and forth on whether Bakugou has had a pen all along or if Izuku granted him a pen on the spot; I swear I had foreshadowing indicating Bakugou had one all along but I can't remember which fic it'd've been in. There's some parts I'd rewrite to align better with that if I could, but alas that is no longer on the table.

The most recent arc at the time of me writing BNHA Magica was the one introducing Eri, so that also got included in my vague disorganized outline. The FULL extent of my notes there are a quick little description of Izuku granting Eri a pen so that he can track her the same way he tracked Bakugou.

After this, I resolved to, quote, "CATAPULT MYSELF INTO THE ABYSS" and stop following canon. I then did not write down Any specific events beyond the bounds of canon. Good work, Past Me!

Some more disorganized things, uh... The way the Magical Girl Quirk works on Izuku's Chosen (including himself) is it essentially transfers their own quirk into a magic wand, replacing it with a pile of minor passive quirks. Stuff like mild superspeed, strength, agility, a dash of spidey-sense, aaaaaaaaaand fast healing. Or possibly the ability to share damage between everyone involved! I thought it was a very fun creative idea at the time, and it does suit the actual nature of the quirk being them all getting linked to Izuku, but it's also Really involved. My notes on it mostly involve Izuku getting Grievously Wounded during Training Camp but turning out mostly fine, but all his chosen experiencing Very Intense Fatigue as he saps their energy to regrow all the bones in his left arm. IDK if I'd've kept it in the end.

The other big thing in my notes that I'm not as sure about in hindsight is the idea of Izuku getting One For All after all, just, like, Late. It kinda ties in with the healing thing; I had the idea that he kinda reflexively shares the Overwhelming Power across the entirety of his network so that it doesn't make him Explode, but it does possibly result in synchronized Arm-Breaking. But idk about keeping that, I might've just found the image funny enough to write down.

Aaaaaaaand I think that's the extent of what's worth sharing from my written notes. To cap the post off, here's the (very incomplete) concept art! Not everyone represented here was Actually going to get a pen, I just sorta went wild and/or thought it would be funny.

hmmm rewatching not so much i’m not a big video essay guy i much prefer 2 just. read an article. that being said i do highly highly recommend cj the x’s video essays…only video essayist whose work i truly consistently enjoy & find enlightening/thought provoking etc…although i do wish they’d write articles instead/as well so i could read their work lmao

I’ve been wanting to restrain going off about Kikaider because it’s not really that bad of a show-it has nothing horribly offensive or gross in it and it does have good qualities even if for that very reason it makes me more disappointed it turned out the way it did for me-and I know I have a few followers who seemingly like it but MAN after finishing all of the anime content and going through the cycle of “this is okay” “this sucks” “this exists” I can’t help to wonder why the anime was produced the way it was.

I don’t understand why they had a budget for 3 separate shows that came out essentially a year apart from each other that are still connected and with each one gets a improvement in animation instead of just pouring the budget into one full length show that probably would’ve looked decent. Like how was there only funds for Kikaider to get a 13 ep tv show but enough they could do two ovas? Was there seriously not enough money or investment to just make it a 20+ ep show when it desperately needed to be longer to fit and rectify all the content in the manga? Or was the first show and 01 just split up because of a new cast despite sharing the same storyline in the manga? And also why produce the crossover with Inazuman-or however tf it’s spelled-despite not making a anime for that?

The production decisions with this show confuses the shit out of me because length is generally the reason why i didn’t see as good even if the first show is at least decent and enjoyable, because even if they were doing this out of passion and respect for the author I feel there could’ve been SOME way around this.
