I think (usually) I'm pretty good at staying true to the characters and not making them too ooc (and I know when it's ooc, okay, I have one wip rn where I just don't give a fuck, I'm writing it anyway lol), and I can get into their heads pretty well. Also I think I'm good at the cute fluffy stuff lol idk

What are your writing weaknesses?

there's probably a lot lol - rn the one that comes to mind is descriptions probably, which is why writing fanfic where we have established characters and settings is so much easier than og stuff haha

10. What's your favorite part about the fic writing process?

the brainstorming!!! i love to write in my planning journal a lot of my ideas and sometimes if i don't quite get my vision in words , i sketch it out (mind u, they're uggo drawings 😭) but it helps a lot! sometimes for brainstorming, i'll act it out like scenes between characters and stuff, in places like the shower or the car lol so those times are really fun!🙈

11. Are there any tropes that you particularly enjoy writing?

love at first sight LMAO just cuz it's sooooo easy and it works so well for naruhina 💕💕💕 another trope would be unexpected interruptions in moments of tension lol as annoying as they can be, i can't get enough of them!!! it's my bread and butter!!!!! 😚✌️

29. Are there any characters, relationships, or general character dynamics you've never written about but would like to try?

-there's a few i think of!! first of! i'd loveeeeee to write for dragon ball! mostly fics about Gohan and Videl BCUZ they are so good together 🥺🫶❤️ and ON THAT NOTE, that would have me exploring like enemies to lovers! (more like one-sided enemies to lovers in regards to HanVi really lol) cuz i think that back and forth is really fuuuunnnn!! *v*

i'd also would like to try my hand at like non-romance stuff??? like Hinata at the grocery store trying to get the best deals! lol i dunno just SOMETHING SILLY would be really fun to write!

oh and characters exploring their sexuality too! like i've made Naruto and Hinata identify as bisexual before in A Summer's Delight but i'd like to go more into it in another fic one day!

Your priest!Leon fic had me SCREAMING! NONE OF THE THOUGHTS IM THINKING ARE IN THE BIBLE 😭 It was so good!

“Might need to spend some time with me in the confessional,” like EXCUSE ME SIR???? 😭 My mind is going places it shouldn’t lol.

And, as a Catholic, this is the only thing I’ll be thinking during Church on Sundays.

BUT I LOVE THE PRIEST!LEON CONCEPT I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS

Like can you imagine afterwards, reader still wants to repent (or at the very least be closer to Father Kennedy) and decides to become an altar server to serve him during masses 😳. She’d be dressed in the white vestments and a colored rope (called a cincture) around her waist and speaking from experience, those cinctures really hug your waist since you need to tie them tightly around you. So she’s walking around, doing her duties as an altar server, and Leon cannot keep his eyes off her since she’s so distracting, especially once she’s kneeling before him in prayer . Those vestments and cincture really accent her figure and he’s so thankful that his priestly garments are black or else his prayers aren’t the only thing that’s being lifted and in that moment 😉. And after mass, altar servers are left behind to help clean up (or at least that was one of my duties when I was one lol), and so reader and Leon are left alone in the church after everyone leaves and he pulls her into his private quarters and goes absolutely ham on her. He strips her and ties her up with those pretty ropes (because fun fact, those cinctures are long and soft) and just uses her poor cunt, unable to keep his hands off of her. She’s made him so hard and he’s been so pent up. Plus, he has to reward her for being a good little altar server, right? The ropes are tight around her body, and they’re brushing against her tits and pussy as he’s thrusting into her 🥵

The Lord is watching me type this I gotta stop before I get out of hand, but I have so many ideas 😅 I need to repent to the Lord for my unholy thoughts 😭

1) One thing I really love about Armandaniel is the fact that they're super powerful immortal x just some guy.

Just the idea of Armand being like "THIS IS MY BEAUTIFUL BOY, HE IS THE SPECIALEST OF BOYS" and then it's...a 69-year-old sarcastic asshole who can't find his glasses.

Conversely, Armand being really intense and/or hyperfixated and Daniel just going, "Uh-huh, that's nice, honey" and sort of begrudgingly enabling him or allowing Armand to drag him all over town.

They're such an odd match but they're also perfect for each other (if, you know, you take away the fact that Daniel wants the one thing Armand can’t give him and Daniel can never understand why Armand doesn’t want to give him that and there's resentment and drama and their lifestyle is literally killing Daniel and they generally just have a fucking miserable time because they live inside TVC 😅).

I also really love writing them just being incredibly married, be it bickering or just domestic fluff.

2) Don’t judge me but I really fucking love fake dating. 😅 It's so silly but I gets me every time. But I just don't see how I could fit that to any of the TVC ships without going romcom AU, which idk if I'll do again after finishing What, Like It's Hard?

(I've also never felt the urge to write fic for any other fandom and I don’t know if I ever will, so I don't have any other cast of characters I could use this trope on.)

3) Tbh, I love all my fics. I'm probably not supposed to say this, but I think I'm really good. 🤭😅🙈 There's only one fic I'm kinda meh about.

I think Silver Lining is probably my best fic. And Issues is my special little baby. It's only around 700 words and I think people tend to skip it because of that, but it really dives into Daniel being a total monsterfucking weirdo and I just loved exploring that.

The End of a Journey

At first, Mark was a little confused when he receives the message about the new captain. The previous one had been doing good, hadn't they? Either way, he was curious to see what the new captain was like.

When the new captain arrives, Mark is… entranced. That's the only word for it. Their entire body is covered by a spacesuit, helmet and all, but there's just something about them that means he just can't look away. Mark can't describe it but he knows the other crewmates feel it too. He's noticed the way they always find a reason to linger in the captain's presence.

They shrug and carefully remove the helmet. When Mark sees them, he freezes (it wouldn't be the first time their presence had done that to him). They're attractive. Ridiculously so. And it's clear that Celci and Gunther feel the same. But is less bothered, having already gone back to reading whatever book he had this time. When the captain notices all of the attention on them they blush and excuse themself from the room, putting their helmet back on as they did so.

One day, at a meeting, Celci and Gunther ask the captain why they always wear their spacesuit helmet. They say that they're not entirely sure.

"Why don't you take it off, Captain? I bet it'd be more comfortable." Gunther tells them. Mark suspects he and Celci had been planning this.

That evening, Mark finds himself sitting around a table in the cafeteria with Celci, Burt and Gunther. Most of the other crewmates have gone to bed for the night (other than those working the night shift) and the four of them are sipping on coffee for a lack of much else to drink. It's as they sit there, talking about nothing in particular, that conversation turns to the captain's appearance.

Mark just watches on, slightly confused. The captain had long curly hair, didn't they? A though crosses Mark's mind. It's a silly thought, of course it's not possible. But, for some strange reason, he decides to say it out loud anyway.

"I wonder if they would let me braid their hair?" Gunther wondered.

"It would be highly impractical to braid such short hair." Burt tells him.

"I wouldn't call their hair short, I could definitely braid it."

"No way." Celci cuts in. "Their hair was way too short, you would hurt them if you tried to braid it."

Mark has several theories. All of which are, quite frankly, terrible. Siren, shapeshifter, faery… None of the seem to fit quite right. It's not as though he can ask them. So he pushes the thought aside.

"What if each of us saw something different?"

"Sorry?" The other three turn to him, varying amounts of confusion displayed on their faces. "What do you mean we all saw something different? That doesn't make any sense." Celci tells him as though he's out of his mind. Which, frankly, he might be.

"Think about it. How can their hair be both long and short, it can't. Not unless we're seeing something completely different. And I'm betting you guys didn't see their brown eyes either."

There is a moment of silence as the trio think back, then, one by one, they all shake their heads.

Thoughts have a terrible habit of sticking around, though. And so, it's as the Invincible floats in orbit of the planet that will become the new colony, Mark corners the captain. They're in the small "living room" that the senior crew members share (it's more of a glorified staff room, really).

"Hey, Captain? Could I have a word?" Mark asks.

They're a little surprised that he's here and not overseeing everything at such a busy time but they agree with a nod of their head.

"I've, uh, been noticing things about you that are a little… off. You never eat or sleep, Captain. And the only time you took off your helmet, everyone saw something different under there. What's going on?"

"Ah… I figured someone might notice. I didn't expect it to be you, if I'm honest."

The glow surrounding the captain grows overwhelmingly bright. When it subsides, they're gone. Mark is alone. He daren't dwell on the captain's disappearance, though. He had a colony to settle. And a new journey to embark on.

It could be Mark's imagination but they almost appear to be bathed in pale blue light. "I'm a deity. The God of Safe Travels. I've been watching you and your ship. And the journey you've been on. The care you put into this ship is rare, I had to see it for myself. And I'm glad to have helped you to your destination." The glow surrounding them grows brighter. Mark is certain he's not imagining it.

"What are you doing?" He steps forwards without realising, his voice laced with confusion.

"This journey has come to an end. You don't need me anymore. You don't need a captain. But a new journey is beginning. One that you get to lead." They place a hand on his cheek, he doesn't even realise that there are tears rolling down his face. "You will do well, Mark. I'm sure of it. I wish you safe travels in this next chapter of your life."

Okay so I thought about this pretty much all afternoon and evening 😂 And I've picked a few that I think are good examples of different types of short fic, as well as being good fic. And also came up with silly category names because I could.

(I'm afraid some of these will be a little out of your fandom wheelhouse, but I do think they're good examples so I hope that's alright 🙈)

The wanky drabble

I learned this one from @revakah, who's still the master of 100-word-witchcraft in my books. Playing with formatting and throwing any concept of sentence structure out the window in favour of pure unadulterated vibes; and somehow winding up with a story that spans way, way more time and feelings than it should be able to. Two of Rev's I particularly like for that:

Blank Space (100 words - Sylvie & Mobius - Loki Series - Sads ahoy)

Grounded (100 words - Kaladin/Dalinar - the Stormlight Archive - Fucking Hot ahoy)

That One Scene

This is probably my own favourite and most frequent sort of ficlet / short... where you take the established world/canon and either situate readers with the summary itself, or with like one or two quick lines-- and write literally just that one single scene or idea and nothing. else. Leave the finer details of exactly how they got there and what happens after up to the reader's imagination. If those are even relevant, they might not be 😂 I love these cause they're so flexible-- they can be introspective, they can be kind of a character study or a What If, they can leave people pondering implications and going ..oh, they can be a quick n dirty little smut scene or powerfully moving angst or pure happy-making fluff; or any combination of the above.

A universe all its own by @jewelliffer (647 words - Thranto - So Fluffy I'm gonna Die)

Unending by saisei (405 words - SGA vegas!Sheppard/Todd the Wraith - impossible levels of characterization, canon backstory, and post-canon story for that many words)

In time by me (200 words - SGA one-sided Sheppard/Todd the Wraith - I'm just really proud of how creepy and not-quite-human I managed to make this Todd POV one)

Longfic speedrun

For when you have the idea for a long fic but don't actually want to write the whole thing. Instead, take the most important, core bits of key moments over time, and just... don't write the rest. It has a particular feel to it that's kind of hard to describe, but they tend to leave me feeling a little stunned. Because I only read one or two thousand words, but somehow they've beamed a year's or a decade's worth of story time directly into my brain.

The Taste of Him by @draculard (~2.5k - NightThrawn with background/nonromantic Thrawn/Palpatine - okay yes this is on the longer side for a short fic BUT in my defense it's incredible and oh yeah OW heartbreaking)

Still there is my attempt at a slowburn speedrun (~1.3k - more SGA - vegas!McShep post canon)

Overall, I'm fine, thank you for asking. I just got over a 5 day long killer-headache and had to work today after the holiday stress with the knowledge that my final exam before my master thesis looms on the horizon. So I feel a little bit overwhelmed at the moment. The last month wasn't easy but hey, I'm on my way up to better days.

However, at the moment I feel as if I'm sitting in a boat with multiple holes and I can't seal them all at the same time 😅 so I have to admit that I didn't have much time for writing or reading or my blog or anything at all the past few weeks. (At this point I'd like to apologize to you for my late reply. I didn't want to make you wait. I just didn't want to write something meaningless in response to your wonderful message and then time ran through my fingers and I never had a quiet moment to sit down and write the answer you deserve. So, I decided I'd just answer you now as well as I could and encourage you to drop by more often as I now hope to have more time!).

Your plot idea is amazing! I mean you know I absolutely love Auguste Lives plots and him and Damen being best friends? Yes, please!!! Additionally, it needs to be said, that I love that this sounds very happy over all, you know? I mean Auguste in support of Lamen is something that's just good for my heart. I want them to be happy and I don't want Laurent to have to decide if he prioritizes Damen over his brother or not. So, I'm in complete and total support of your idea and I think it should totally get written!!!
