Pitaya Dragon Cookie x MH! Reader

Note : Basically Reader is a Monster Hunter from the Monster Hunter Universe. Imagine MH exists on Earthbread. The Reader is far more durable than any other cookies since they are a monster hunter.

Pitaya Dragon Cookie is always hungry for a fight, it seems the fight with Hollyberry Cookie wasn't enough to quench this dragon's thirst for battles.

Then, they meet you!

A cookie called as a 'Monster Hunter' that came from a distant land. Clad in dragon armour and wields (w/o/c).

Pitaya Dragon Cookie instantly challenges you into a fight the moment he sets his eyes on your form.

The moment their giant claws hits your body and sends you flying, any cookie would have crumbled by the attack but you stand right back up like you weren't affected by it at all.

This was the moment that Pitaya Dragon Cookie sees you as a worthy opponent.

"Finally! A cookie that doesn't crumble under my claws!" cackled Pitaya Dragon Cookie, their flames burn even hotter than before. "Sshow me what you got, monster hunter!"

The fight would last for hours!

You attack, dodge, block and take all the hits that the dragon has given to you. Pitaya Dragon Cookie could see that you have experience in fighting a dragon.

The way you zip around swiftly and dodging his attacks. Pitaya Dragon Cookies hits you and you hit them back harder. It was to a point that it dented/broke off their scales/spikes!

"Gragh!" one of Pitaya Dragon Cookies horns has been broken off by your special attack. They couldn't help but burst out laughing, "Hahahahaha! Hollyberry Cookie or that Knight Cookie couldn't even do thiss! You are the firsst cookie to land ssssuch damage on thiss Greenisssh Red Dragon!" they said. "I mussst say, you got my ressspect! I like you! You're now my favourite!" they grinned. Pitaya Dragon Cookie feels satisfied ....well for today!

"That's the reason why I am called a 'Monster Hunter'!" you smirked at the dragon. "I broke off dragon horns countless times back at my place!" you grinned. Pitaya Dragon Cookie shifts to his cookie form, you could see that his scaly armours chipped here and there. A part of his helmet has broken off.

Pitaya Dragon could only smirk as their tail swish excitedly, "Sssay~ May this Pitaya Dragon Cookie know your name!" said Pitaya Dragon. "My name is (C/n) Cookie, a hunter apart of the Ecological Research Team!" you said proudly.

"Sssince you have defeated me! I can grant you a wissh. Tell me, (C/n) Cookie, what is your wisssh?" Pitaya Dragon asked. You let out a hum, fighting this legendary greenish red dragon is so much fun and you wish to do research on them. "I wish to do research on you, Pitaya Dragon Cookie!" you told them your wish. "I sseee" hums Pitaya Dragon as they put their hands on their hips, "Alright! You can do your little ressearch on me, little tough cookie!" they said.

"And I want to fight you again! It was fun!" you declared.

Pitaya Dragon couldn't get even more excited than ever, a cookie wishes to fight them again? Oh, bring it on! Their eyes glow brightly as Pitaya Dragon smiles widely, "Oh yesss~ I will accept your requessts any time!" they smirked. "But don't let your guard down, my little hunter. Thisss dragon will attack you at any time they want~".

Well, Pitaya Dragon wasn't lying at all. They would attack the moment you let your guard down. Especially when you're doing research in the Berry Forest, Pitaya Dragon would dive bomb you out of the blue when you were picking up herbs or mining (the ores) your own business.

A vicious fight that slowly turns into a friendly spar. During those times, you and Pitaya Dragon have grown closer. Pitaya Dragon sees you as a friend and a rival!

The dragon was interested in your home land that has all kinds of monsters especially dragons! You've told Pitaya Dragon Cookie that your home land has dragons that are called Elder Dragons. The most dangerous out of all Elders were the black dragon named Fatalis.

"Fataliss huh....I want to fight him!" grinned Pitaya Dragon. "Hahaha! Make sure not to let him melt you or he would use you as his own armour!" you said. Pitaya Dragon blinks, "What do you mean by that?" he questioned. "Fatalis has habits using melted corpse of a cookie as his own armour" you chirped. Pitaya Dragon couldn't help but feel horrified, disturbed and slightly disgusted?

"That'ss jussst....disssturbing...." they said. "Yup!" you agree with them.

Both of you are sitting on a grassy field after a spar. You have noticed that Pitaya Dragon's armour has completely regrown and returns normal but what catches your attention was they were missing the tip of their tail. "Pitaya Dragon Cookie, may I ask you something?" you asked the dragon who let's out a hum.

"What happened to your tail?"

"Huh? Thisss? Hm, I never noticed that it wass chopped off" they said. "Did you chop it off?" they turn to you for answers.

"No, I didn't" you said.

"Huh, weird..."

You sweat drop, "So, you don't remember how you lost it?". Pitaya Dragon shrugs their shoulders, "Yup!" they simply said.

heyy, explaining what i said about the N romance, sorry in advance for the long rant:

i played for the first time w my usual detective in a relationship with nate and thought the pacing and timing of everything was pretty weird. i think the 2 main things people were excited for were the love confession and the first intimate scene, and both of them felt very off to me. like, the detective can say they're in love with them very early, during the combat/ressearch scene, and they don't say it back LMAO... and to me that wouldn't necessarily be an issue if the reasons they couldn't say it were explored, but they're not and there's an option to go down on them/have them go down on you immediately after 😀 like right there on the grass! so obviously that's pretty odd and ooc in itself but there's ALSO the date scene in which they bang the detective on the pool table and leave right after bc they got a call from A to join them on patrol?!?!??

they do end up confessing their feelings in the end and it's cute or whatever but everything just feels kinda weightless. N was always constructed as a very intense and romantic character so idk what happened. i think this whole book suffered bc of the insane amount of branching and it's very evident in this romance, the scenes feel really choppy.

i ended up replaying it without being in a relationship and it was sooo much smoother, only having the option to confess in the end after they do makes a lot more sense and those s3x scenes should just have been saved for other books, period. i did really like the other routes, especially A's, but to me this one was a miss. at least the mc can opt out of everything and wait for the next book lmao

god i knew that mc could say "i love you" and n could not say it back – and about the pool scene – and the later confession from n – but like. i didn't have a clear picture of the route itself, and it's coming together and ... not looking so good imo LMAO

what's crazy to me, is that mis/hka created SUCH a good opportunity for conflict in the n route, what with mc saying i love you and n not saying it back – as soon as i heard from a friend you could do that, i was FLOORED and i was so sure that n's route was going to be a favorite. and yet, she completely flubbed it by not giving consequences to decisions. i wonder why she gives players the options to do things that should cause conflict if she won't follow through with it?

part of me thinks it's because of the insane branching, like you said, but also i think that as much as she might try to write varying paths for the n romance, it doesn't turn out that way because she favors a certain type of mc and that's evident in every route i think? like of course there's no way to account for every mc out there – it's not on her if our specific oc doesn't quite fit in the story – however, if you're advertising certain aspects of n's romance like their secretiveness, their intenseness, their guilt, their struggle with humanity, etc etc, and how that would alter a romantic route, then you can't expect every player choosing him for that to just. be okay with random i love you confessions and mid sex scenes that are completely out of place both with the plot of b3 and the timeline of mc's relationship with n?

sorry i'm jumping all around the place (im so bad about that with answering asks LMAO) – but you picked the exact right phrasing: it's weightless. it just doesn't feel like the n romance we were promised from book 1, book 2, the asks, patreon, etc. i don't know what went wrong :/

and dude YES, i was so convinced that mis/hka was going to have each ro's first sex scene be in a different book to add more flavor to each route – and i figured this was going to be f's chance to shine LMAO and that she'd save n's scene for the next book! i thought so much of this book was going to be romantic without sex, but... god was i wrong. i honestly would've preferred zero sex on any of the routes because it just doesn't fit (i could've even justified n engaging in sex with the mc to like. distract them from saying "i love you")

she's the prefect of Ramshackle from another world, so basically she's got the role of MC in the game! she's usually very friendly, although more to the introverted side. she's also VERY affectionate with her friends and when I say very, I mean it. yes, everyone at NRC has thought she was dating her friends at least once. she respects their boundaries of course, but if they don't complain about it she will hold their hand, hug them, kiss their cheeks and forehead and noses and hands, play with their hair, rest her head on their shoulder, cuddle with them, all very much platonic.

not to mention she's shameless around these she trusts. if she becomes your friend you bet she will say anything that's on her mind, which includes random compliments that are 100% genuine and some out of pocket jokes that will take you by surprise. while she's usually abiding by the rules and does her best at school work, she will cause mischief at times to entretain her. nothing that could put people in danger, just to mess with them in a light hearted way like teasing or roping them into her schemes.

Bee loves studying the theorical aspects of this new world, it's all so very new and cool to her. magic exists, there are different species, there's people that live under the sea, there's fae, there's a whole new geography and history and politics and culture, from movies to literature to music to games to folklore to traditions, that she can explore. she's very curious, which means she will want to know as much as she can and will make questions to any of her friends willing to answer! she especially is interested in social studies and would like to make ressearch about it, even work with it in the future!

she's in two clubs, the arts club and the mountain lovers club. now, you ask me: how did this happen? well, first she entered the arts club, since it was something she was used to and had an interest on! then, she finds out about the mountain lovers club and gets curious, so she checks it out one day. Jade is very pleasant (he wants more members to the club) and she likes it, but sadly she's already enrolled in one club and thinks Crowley wouldn't let her join another. Jade tells her to not worry about it, he would have a talk with Crowley. the next day, Crowley suddenly lets her take part in two clubs. I wonder how that happened...? nah, no need to worry about it.

if there's one thing she LOVES is sweets. anything with sugar will have her directing heart eyes at you. also, in a disney princess style, she gets along very well with animals. maybe not to the same point as Silver, but they do seem to have a soft spot for her too, which is GREAT because she will want to pet them. Jade has lost her more than once on their mountain expeditions because she wandered around following some cute animal she saw.

and she's the type to "go with the flow", you know? if adeuce get into trouble, she's there to either get into it with them or bail them out. if Floyd appears out of nowhere screaming "Shrimpy" and running in her direction, she will scream one of the many nicknames she's got for him and run in his direction as well. if Leona is napping on the botanical garden and there's space for one more, she will nap alongside him.

Bee will say some random sentences in portuguese sometimes or call people portuguese nicknames. she's very aware no one understands a thing and it's incredibly amusing to her. she will keep doing it, so there's no use in complaining. don't ask her the meaning of the words, there's a high possibility she will tell you the wrong meaning and giggle any time you say it. little menace (affectionate).

Sorry, I haven't made posts of my own for a while, mainly because I am a bit tired when I come back from work and I don't find the creative energy or the self discipline to do basic ressearches. My next posts include references to Henri Bergson's Time and Free Will, and watching a few more online classes about the Eddas and historical knowledge of the Norse myths.

But recently I got caugh in a very interesting conversation (tw for heavy topics) and while I don't want to include myself in the thread, I want to make my own post it.

I'm not sure where to begin, because violence in fiction is a very complex topic that have been discussed since humans make up stories. I don't have any moral ground to hold there and I think everyone's feelings and opinions on the matter have a value. I am not one of those poeple who scream against "antis" all day, because "anti" is a word that can mean anything and nothing at once (okay, I use it occasionally, always for specific situations like anti-Sylki, anti-Lokius, anti-series... it's just an easy way to name the sides of an argument). I think it's a mere courtesy to respect other poeple's triggers and emotional response, as well as their argumentation.

I think a good text to read on the matter is Aristotle's Poetics, but I am too lazy to look at anything else than the Wikipedia page and my few memories from college.

I think a good part of the "fandom wank" comes from an opposition of a Platonician and an Aristotelian approach of fiction. Some poeple take fiction as a symetrical imitation of the real world while other people read fiction in a more metaphorical way. I don't think any of those sides are better, especially because not all fiction is meant to be consumed the same way. I would say it is not appropriate to watch historical fiction the same way we watch fantasy.

Anyway, sorry if I'm rambling, I'll come to the point discussed here : does Mobius' interrogation methods qualify as torture, and is it appropriate within the narrative of the show ?

As @iamanartichoke said, fiction is subjective to a certain point and I agree. I've been talking about the time loop scene with several poeple in DMs and we confronted our perception of the scene, and how it clashes with the answers of @lucianalight and @tori-artemis.

I think a lot of poeple, me including, percieved the time loop scene as a memory loop, aka, not Loki being repeatedly beated by Sif, but Loki experiencing a memory of being repetedly beaten by Sif. It's not a big nuance, but it changes the whole meaning of the scene.

By putting the emphase on the memory aspect, the scene becomes an introspective moment. What matters here is how Loki reacts to the memory and how it shapes his character journey. After the first loop, Loki mocks the choice of memory, saying "I never thought about it again, because it was just a little fun". It takes him a few loops to come to the realisation he has hurt Sif, and to apologize. Interesting part, his apologies worked, even in a memory, and fake-Sif tells him "you have always been alone and you will always be."

What I understood of this scene is that sometimes, we have to think over and over about a past event to take a lesson from it. I think we've all been Loki there, remembering a morally dubbious deed with fondness or indifference. Wasn't it funny when we pranked the poor math teacher and they lost their temper ? Here, Loki comes to an important realisation : one of the reasons why he's been alone is because he was seeking attention the wrong way. It's only by admitting his wrong that he can take something out of the memory.

Note that my interpretation is purely doylist : the time loop scene serves as a visual metaphor for introspection. This is not an admission that Mobius was right or Loki deserved it, because I am in no way a TVA apologist. My feelings for Mobius are complex and I keep that for another post.

I hope I'm not offending anyone with this post, I am not interested in discourse at all and I have no claim that my interpretation of fiction is more valid than anyone.

I think the fandom pretty much unanimously agrees that Inuyasha is an Aries, but I can also see the signs of Taurus and Leo in his chart, and, one friend brought up the prospect of seeing him as a bit of a Cancer oddly enough. (Mostly because of how he tends to get moody and is quick to both hold grudges but also forgive)

For Kagome I agree with Sagittarius and can somewhat see Pisces but agree to disagree with all the other signs, especially Aquarius. Yes Aquarians are universal humanitarians and are progressive and revolutionary but they’re also known for being the most intellectual and emotionless of the Zodiac and that’s definitely NOT Kagome lol. The only way I can see Aquarius for Kagome is if she were on the Aquarius/Pisces cusp but I can’t ever see her Sun Sign being a full fledged Aquarius, who knows, maybe she has it somewhere in her chart though? To me a better humanitarian air sign fit for her would be Libra, which is known as the most sociable, diplomatic, romantic and peace-loving sign. (I’m especially partial to Kagome being a Libra because Libra is known as Aries direct opposite and they’re supposed to be a perfect match romance wise).

Capricorn’s an okay choice too but I think the two other Earth signs, Taurus and Virgo fit her far better since Capricorns are known for being a tad cold and stone-faced. (When I think Cap I think of it more as a Sesshomaru or Kikyo sign) Meanwhile Taurus is known as being stubborn as all get out while still being highly practical and a taste for the finer things in life (and an appreciator of beauty!) and Virgos are known for being responsible, dutiful and grounded while also having a tendency to be immensely hard on themselves and do those not sound like Kagome to a Tee?

I can also see Cancer and Scorpio fitting her well, Cancer because they’re known as the most family oriented and “clingy” of the signs and both Cancer and Scorpio also have a reputation for being the most jealous which I would say is Kagome’s main vice she has to overcome. I don’t necessarily think Scorpio is her main sun sign or even her rising sign but I could see her Venus being in Scorpio easily. (Which sign is in Venus in your chart determines how you deal with romantic love matters)

TL;DR: I personally view Kagome as a mix of the Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Saggitarius signs myself, but I’m the same as you Sid in that unlike Inuyasha I feel she fits a much higher multitude of signs.

Like I said, I'm far from being an especialist when it comes to astrological signs and I found Kagome particularly hard to pin down. I made my guesses based not on actual, detailed ressearch, but on the vibes the characters give off.

You're obviously educated on the subject, which I'm not, and definitely care more about it than I do, so I thank you for your input. It was an interesting essay to read.

He so nearly made it. Etho was the first to the bottom of the mountain, and for a while he thought that was all the headstart he needed.

Trouble started before he even found his first diamonds, as he paced back and forth before the furnace that was smelting up his first iron pick. One moment he was alone in the cave at diamond level, the next he was swinging his stone sword at three creepers who fell from the roof.

The resulting explosion stole three hearts from his total health but at least the furnace survived.

He wasn't out of the game yet.

He wasn't out of the game when the next surprise creeper exploded on top of the diamond vein he was mining.

Not even when one broke the cave wall, pouring lava over his head. It was just a setback. He still had three-and-a-half hearts to be working with, only two more diamonds to mine.

And he so nearly made it. Etho was scaling the mountain back to his most recent spawn point when he saw the mocking silhouette of Spaz placing a block beside the anvil that shone in the setting sun. Tired and cold as he was, Etho almost fell from his cobblestone pillar in that moment of defeated hope.

Almost.

He was caught before he could, by a rope — a lead that wrapped around his body, pulling him to a jerking stop mid-wobble.

“That wassn't the deal” Spaz hissed gleefully from above.

“You sabotaging me wasn't the deal, but I guess you had to compensate for a complete lack of skill somehow.”

He was tugged slowly up the cliff and deposited on the spawn ledge, still tied up. The creepers seemed content to leave him in a patch of snow for the time being, while they hissed and scuttled around.

“I hope you put some effort in, if I'm dying for this.” Etho told them “I want something special.”

“It'ss sspecial.” Spaz promised, pointing a creeper just out of view to its task. “I’ve had a while to ressearch player deathss, you know.”

“Well, it's fairly straightforward. Make a big enough explosion and we die. But good on you for figuring it out at last.”

“At lasst indeed… ssometimess two iss enough. Ssometimess exploding the petss iss what doess it.” The general shuddered briefly “Catss… But ssometimes it needss a more perssonal touch…”

The sun was fully gone now, but a ring of creepers kept the other hostile mobs away. In the centre was a glass ball containing a single lectern that was visibly wired up to several pistons and a lot of TNT.

There was a shatter of glass and the unmistakable sensation of a healing potion doing its work. Then another. “Wouldn't want you to misss the finale.”

“Can we hurry this up?” Etho asked impatiently, “I know this is the most interesting thing that's ever happened to you, but some of us have actual work to be doing”

“Be my guesst.” Spaz ushered him into the death ball with a false bow. The glass was shuffled into place behind him, leaving Etho alone with the book.

He expected it to be full of insults. It was not.

Instead, it listed his projects, finished and unfinished, from the first iteration of the EATS road to last season's ‘Hurtin Hermits’

As he read, experience orbs began to trickle down the outside of the glass. None of them could quite reach him, but they certainly tried their hardest, jumping around until his view consisted of yellow and green light. Then two dispensers fired, hitting him with poison and regeneration at once. His heath ticked up and down as the potions battled it out, making Etho's head spin. As he began to adjust to the nausea the walls of the glass ball snapped shut around him, crushing the air from his lungs. His health ticked down steadily now, like a second heartbeat. Like a countdown, because the purpose of a crusher like this was always to suffocate the victim up to the point of death… and when he was at half a heart the walls snapped open again. Etho got a gulp of air, just one, before the TNT lit and blew him sky high.

I have currently two requests on hold: Siren MC and Barista MC

I lack deep enough knowledge on mythological sirens so I will still need to ressearch it, it could also lead a whole series of mythological creature MC.

The other one is the same, I need to know more about it, but also the idea of writting the brothers as baristas has been sitting in my ideas board for quite a while now and I kind of want to try to do both.

This is just to give a notice that it will take a while to answer both of them! Specially because I need to recover my functionality, I have said before, ENEM took a major toll on my body, no kidding.

Also I have been thinking so much about my own MC these days, I may also end up writting something more for her later on.

Selene’s Log, Day Three (Part One)

Update, 7:34 am.

“Bzzzzzt, Roto Dex here!” Its voice is enthusiastic as ever, his camera angled to pick up Selene, Kukui, and Lillie as they walk along the beach. The sounds of the rushing sea and cawing Wingulls backs up the light crunch of shoes on sand as the trio takes in the early morning air. 

Selene’s lips are pursed in a thin line, but her ocean blue eyes light up at the beauty of nature, even if, she later admitted to the Dex, the hot temperatures left her feeling fatigued even faster than the blistering cold of Sinnoh she was used to. “You seem amused today,” she mutters, “We have yet to locate our target and you are already recording.”

“Well it’s not every day that ya see a Shiny Pokemon, and I wanna see it for myself!” Correct, their goal today was to not only observe the Pokemon along the beach, but try and track down an Alolan Rattata that had not a black coat, but a shimmering red one. Some locals had pointed it out to the bare-chested professor the other day, and he’d wanted to see if their luck would change with Selene there. Roto pulls up a photo of the elusive ‘mon one more time so the gang can get a good look at it

And it was then that the sky turns black. 

It was as if the beating sun had been swallowed whole, and even Roto’s glowing screen barely produced enough light to illuminate his human friends’ outlines. 

“An eclipse?” The shortest of the outlines- Lillie- pipes up, her tone edged with a combination of fright and intrigue. 

Kukui’s laugh comes from the tallest shadowy outline, “Haha! Ya just might be right, Lil.”

But just as suddenly as the eclipse happened, it passes, and the light of the beating sun returns to bath the group in its golden glow.

And despite that heat, Roto swears he caught footage of Selene shivering.

“I have seen eclipses before...” she mutters lowly, “But none have felt like... that.” Even the Dex could see it in her eyes- something about that eclipse was very, very off. 

“Well hey,” mused Kukui, seemingly sensing the tension. “Even if it was some kinda weird thing, Alolans are a lot tougher than they look! There’s this old story from way back, ya know. About Alola bein’ steeped in darkness and all that.”

Lillie piped up, her lips curling in a small grin, “Yeah! I’ve heard that one before. Everyone, people and Pokemon rallied together to blast away the darkness with their light. I think it had something to do with those Z-Crystals you’ll be collecting too, Selene!” she adds, nodding cheerily at the younger researcher. 

“I admit, it is not a story I have heard, but I very much appreciate being apart of such a custom steeped in history and myth. Reminds me a bit of Sinnoh.” She trails off a bit, and the Rotom makes a mental note to download more Sinnoh Myths to his database for later. After teasing her with those pictures of her smile last night, it might be nice to appease any residual anger with that gift. 

Kukui’s phone rings and he picks it up, muttering under his breath briefly before looking back to the girls and the Dex. “Can you gals take it from here? I’m needed elsewhere.”

“Of course, Kukui-san,” Selene nods respectfully, “Take care of your business.”

The Alola Professor chuckles. “Told ya, ya don’t need to be so formal with me. We’re colleagues, equals.” Not that it would ever get through Selene’s skull. He darts off and as he’s breaking into a run, he calls back, “Watch Lil for me! I’ll see you up at the Trainer School in a few hours!”

“Woaaah, that eclipzze thing was weird, but that story was pretty heartwarming if ya ask me.” The Dex mechanically chuckles. “When the Prof left, Lillie and Selene spent the rest of their time talking about old storiezz. Turns out Lillie’zz read quite a few bookzz in that little loft of herzz! It’s great seeing Selene open up, ya know? I may have only met her recently, but Kukui’s shared enough of their correspondence with me to know that she’zz not usually the type to socialize with real people. I know I get a pazz for bein’ a Pokemon, but still.”

“Anyway, they actually ran into this mean lookin’ Wingull later on that was bullying other Pokemon on the beach.” He flashes images on screen, photos of the gull landing decisive blows on a number of foes before switching to a clip of it getting smacked down by Selene and Strix. “Poor girl really met her match there!” The Dex plays a victory theme reminiscent of old 8-bit video games. 

“But ya see, that Wingull actually knew how to take a loss well and realized that she had a lot to learn, not just about fightin’ but about bein’ a better Pokemon too. So she decided to join uzz!” Roto flashes another image on screen of the Wingull tapping an offered Pokeball with her wing, followed by another image with more data about the Pokemon.

“Yeah, she named her Henet, apparently it’zz the name of a legendary Pelipper from a far off region, I think it fitzz!” The Dex brightens, flashing bright smiley faces on his screen. 

“And then the gang met with Kukui at the Trainer School,” the Dex continues, playing a clip of the young ressearcher and her blonde companion meeting up with the Professor and being introduced to the principal of the school. “Kukui posed a bit of a pre-trial challenge to her, fighting studentzz in the school! If she could beat enough of them, she’d definitely be ready to take on the firzzt trial. Selene even met another partner on the way-” A clip plays of her befriending a  chill sludge monster that had been minding its own business in the grassy field near the school, munching on trash and other gross stuff. 

“Yeah, she beat a student with an Alolan Grimer and just had to find one for herzzelf!” And there’s another clip, this one of Selene royally trouncing the boy in question. The Dex then flashed up another snippet of team data.

Characteristic: Highly persistent

“Seemed like this Grimer wanted to see the world too, since he was happy help Selene in her alternate form research and battle with her. I can totally appreciate that! Gosh, how much fun I used to have battling!” The Dex sighs and continues.

“Thing is, Selene... took her test a little too far. Kukui never really specified how many trainerzz she needed to fight, but he’d expected her to at least fight the best student in each grade level prezzent- one for each of the four yearzz’ worth of studentzz. But no, She fought all the studentzz.” The Dex rapidly flashes image after image of Selene taking out one kid after another, even battling and defeating a fair few teachers as well. “And that’s when the principal called her to her office...”

Roto’s camera trails a few feet behind Selene and Lillie as they walk, with the younger blonde muttering in a low voice, “Are you sure you did nothing wrong? I don’t think a principal would just call you to her office for no reason...”

“I am sure it is fine, Lillie-san. I completed Kukui’s test, no? That is probably all.” But as the duo rounds a corner, they find themselves face to face with a very irate woman, perhaps in her late 20s, with dark hair and glasses, and a Litten glaring daggers at the researcher. 

The sight alone even sparks a twinge of wide-eyed surprise in Selene.

“I have had a number of complaints about your battling style, young lady,” the principal growls, her eyes matching the Litten in fiery anger. “Battling students leagues below you in skill, ruthlessly taking out each opponent with your strongest techniques... I should put you in detention for this!” And the Litten pounces. “But that won’t be enough. I’ll defeat you where you stand!”

Selene ducks out of the way of an Ember the cat launches, her left hand darting to her belt to pluck off a Pokeball, summoning forth the Wingull she caught earlier. It looks like she was trying to take advantage of Types, and Henet unleashes a Water Gun to destroy the next Ember the Litten sends out. The cat and bird continue exchanging blows, a multitude of Embers and Water Guns missing and clashing just as often as Wing Attacks met Scratches. In time, stray flames begin to eat at the wood in the hallway, starting to burn doors and other objects hanging from the walls. For awhile there, it even looks like Selene is about to lose, with her Wingull’s Water Guns seemingly striking wildly as the blazing cat dodges out of the way. One particularly critical Scratch sends Henet hurtling into a wall-

Causing a rare burst of shock in Selene that left her gasping. Blue eyes like dark oceans tremble in their sockets as she runs to her partner, covering her with her body as she administers a Potion to heal with gull’s wounds. Had Ichne not broke out of her own Pokeball to defeat the Litten with a brutal Tackle, Selene would have taken an Ember directly to the back.

The principal returns her fainted cat and approaches Selene with a stern look... only to smile brightly and offer her a hand. “I’m deeply sorry for that,” she says, bowing respectfully. “But I had to see where your true loyalties lied. If you were so strong without a kind heart, I don’t know what I would have done about your Pokemon! But I can see now... even if are cold and ruthless in battle like the children say, you clearly love and care for your Pokemon above all else.” The principal smiles softly. “You even aimed your Wingull’s attacks to fight the fires instead of taking the chance to defeat Litten.” It would seem that was true, as the blaze set by previous stray Embers had been staunched completely.

She nods her head to the Yungoos, who was still glaring at her and guarding Selene protectively, “And if this one can feel so strongly about you that she breaks out of a Pokeball just to protect you, I know I can give you my blessing and the support of this school. Just please, keep that kind heart, no matter what.”

“Whew, that battle left me on the edge of my seat! Metaphorically speaking. I wazz sure that Litten was gonna burn me up! That principal’zz a pretty good trainer. Did we catch her name? Ah well. Hopefully Selene takes her wordzz to heart moving forward. Kukui says he’zz got someone to introduce uzz to in Hau’oli City, so see ya there!”

“Huh... I just realized we never did find that Shiny Rattata...” Oops.
