i'm so tired of harries calling every one direction member a flop just because they're "not as successful as harry". every single one of these boys has been very successful in their own ways. "but harry has more streams" who the fuck cares? show me where i asked. if you hate the other boys so much, why are you so obsessed with them and their streaming numbers? the boys have told us again and again (yes even harry!) that there's no bad blood between them. they support each other and none of them would be here without one direction. yes, harry is one of the biggest artists in the world right now and that's great! but there's no need to compare the other boys to harry all the damn time. why can't you all just focus on your fave and leave the other boys alone?

So for quite some time I've seen people over on twitter complaining about having far-right tweets pushed onto their timeline, and I was confused, that wasn't happening to me for some reason. It was all still people I follow, plus ads in Japanese for some reason. Then I realized all these people were talking about twitter's "For You" page.... and I'm just confused. Of course Tumblr has a "for you" page which people hardly ever use, if you're bored and can't sleep and everyone you follow is asleep you might check it out, once every like 3 months maybe. And I'm just left puzzled by HOW MANY, seemingly all of, the people I follow on Twitter... rather than looking at the tweets from the people they decided to follow, the people who's tweets they said they wanted to see, they... rely on a computer to pick out tweets they might like? 😕 I don't... I don't understand this? Like isn't the point of social media to build your own garden? to pick who you follow and not see stuff you don't know you want to see? why would anyone live like this?

so when I was a kid, maybe third or fourth grade, I read the introduction to "a series of unfortunate events", where the narrator informs the reader that the book was going to be terribly sad and miserable, and that those looking to read a nice and pleasant book should choose another one. and I remember thinking, oh, how nice of him to warn me. I did want to read a nice and pleasant book, so I put back "a series of unfortunate events" and didn't actually end up reading it until several years later. anyway I think this is very fundamental to who I am today or at the very least could explain my taste in media

I had two different blogs before - one meme and one where I just posted photos of really creative cars, trucks, bikes, kustom kulture, illustration artwork, and welded sculptures. I talked about the creators and where to find more of their work. No one really cared about the meme blog, the other had over 15k followers before the 2018 purge pissed me off and I left. (ps - I never deleted it, have not posted to it in years, and it still has over 4k new members since 2019).
Why? I like to believe it was because we as a society appreciate the artistry and talent of others. I like to believe that invention is only part of the pie, there's also the know-how that factors into the awe.
Which is why I can't get into Tumblr anymore. There is SO much AI on here now, and it is celebrated as much - if not moreso - than the real thing. And what's scary as hell is that we're still •just• able to tell what's real and what's not - I have to believe soon that demarcation will blur and then eventually disappear altogether.
There are so many truly beautiful things in this world, I don't understand why it's all being replaced with fake and we're all ok with it.
Get up and go create something real, something tangible, something that people can hold, and feel, and be made TO feel by it. Do it while anyone still values that.
I'm not saying there isn't tremendous talent in graphic artistry and it does impress the hell out of me, but if you show me something extraordinary that exists and something extraordinary that does not, there's no contest which I will appreciate.
...and I seem to be in this site's minority now.

I want to see characters being taken care of in an explicit and worshipful way. Home-cooked meals. Hair brushed and braided by gentle hands. Little gifts just because.
I want to read about characters who are not used to kindness being bombarded by acts of service. This trope works romantically and platonically. Give me found family and acts of service - all the ways a character is wrapped up in wordless, explicit care after years of cruelty and having no idea how to handle. I need it.

Serious question.
Do you think we’ll see the parents/family of each of the guys???
Like, We’ve been TEASED with Ace’s brother, that I’m starting to think it’s just a reference to that Alice in Wonderland park character in Japan and nothing else….
Jack’s family, Ruggie’s grandma, Falena, Maleficia, Ms.Rosehearts, Just now Vil’s dad is in the picture which I am really happy but now I’m wondering about his mom, and so Deuce’s mom.
I mean, some HAVE a silhouette!! It could mean they do have a design in the making/ready to show. They could’ve shown us Falena in the Tamashina (hope I said that correctly) event, but didn’t (prolly to make Leona not so σ(▼□▼メ) and it’s understandable)
Anyhow, any idea/headcannon about this? Who do you want to see first?
I'm wondering if everyone might eventually get a travel event? like they've now introduced with Vil's that it doesn't have to be specifically hometowns, so that opens things up a lot! (especially if they have to figure out how to do three separate Coral Sea visits) (how would that even work otherwise)
but yeah, I hope everyone gets a chance! there's a lot of backstory characters I would LOVE to meet. :D :D :D though I do think some of them don't really suit the more light-hearted tone of the events (pretty sure you're right about that being why Falena wasn't in Tamashina-Mina, that would've just been. too much for Leona.) so like...we're probably not ever going to meet the Rosehearts. or Maleficia (although I maintain that this would be THE funniest possible way to introduce her outside of the main story, and actually I would love this a lot, can we please Twst) (I need to see her to put Malleus in a froofy little outfit and tell him what a handsome boy he is). but they've sprung surprises like Kifaji on us, and honestly anyone who shows up and tells embarrassing stories about characters' childhoods is good in my book!
characters off the top of my head who I most want to meet: literally any of the Zigvolts, Azul's mom, Ace's brother, Che'nya's grandfather (<- I think he would be a good one for Riddle) (please just any non-terrible adult in his life), any member of Rook's family because I need to see how they managed to produce him, and...really just whoever they can come up with for Silver.
