Ok this isnt my usual way of doing things cuz... Well, tbh i dont really care enough to actually make a post bout most things, id just rather reblog shit, but I've now seen several posts comparing the Loki finale with spn's and just... Where?

Spn ended as a show with one of the most hopelessness inducing shit I've ever seen, taking a character thats been consistently seen as at the very least depressed and killing him off with a 'that's what his happy ending looks like' plastered on it, another character who's whole ark was reconciling with himself about who he is only to make him essentially cut half of himself out for a kid and also still be unhappy, and a third who's whole thing was learning what free will is and that he too deserves free will only to have him go back to obeying orders in heaven. It was absolutely against everything the show had portrayed for 15 years, including in the actual season this finale was a part of.

Loki is an on going show (s 2 confirmed), but even if it hadn't been, the shows main narrative themes remained true to the end, Loki did in fact grow as a character, the shows ultimate plot is about free will, tackling also the fact that free will means shit will also happen, its not only roses and happiness and Sylvie stuck to her actual goal and achieved it, aka killing whoever was behing the TVA. Loki's goal throughtout the show wasn't killing the Time keepers, it was having the free will to write his own life story and he's done and doing exactly that, sometimes that means shit happens, no characters died needlessly in my opinion and as I've said, in no way did it go against its own themes that it established initially. Not to mention the fact again that it's ongoing!

Finally to touch on what people are really complaining about (the more vocal post I've seen circulating, I've no doubt some people just genuinely didn't like it and thats fine) which is the Sylvie/Loki thing. Ok lets discuss. Firstly, if it's not ur thing that's entirely fine, its not mine either, but to claim it's a problem for u cuz it's, as Ive seen multiole people say, heteronormative is hella problematic to me since it seems to erase the fact that both characters by their own words are bi/pan. That's shitty. Number 2: 'if Sylvie was male presenting they wouldn't have gone there'... Now while I do think Marvel/Disney wouldnt likely have the balls, I still find issue with this statement since it feels very... Sexist to me. I dunno what exactly about it, but it very much reads like y'all would not complain bout the pairing if Sylvie was male presenting more so than a dig at Marvel/Disney and that is not cool with me. And finally, C the selfcest thing as incest stand-in. Ok so I get that selfcest aint for everyone, which again, fair point if u just dont vibe at all, but the actual issues people seem to have is less with it being selfcest and more that its not mlm, which is highly hypocritical. Now to the people who do just dislike it for being basically incest, ur perogative, ur view , but I'd've hoped that the whole multivers aspect of this show could've made it clearer that while they are variants of each other they are not actually the same person. Also also since the spn parallel is what began this, to the spn fans I ask, how tf can y'all not see this, the multuple versions of Sam and Dean alone should have you realize it's someones history, experience, surroundings, accuaintances that mould a person. We don't even know for sure if they share parents! Its a dif universe they've been born in, oddly enough that means they couldn't be more physically different, even if they may share some personality traits or some history between them. Again, i dont ship it, it feels awkward to me based on their interactions, but that doesnt mean imma say some bullshit bout incest just cuz I dont like the idea. Fact is they're not actually related and, as an aside, the would u fuck ur clone talk has been around for ages with little issues about incest because its already covered in the meme as is the pollar opposite.

Ok this was rambly and well, hopefully some of my points have been made clear. To end I just wanna say I do look forward to season 2, I can't wait to see Mobius and Loki reacquaint now that we have a Mobius that doesnt remember/know Loki it'll be a nice juxtapose to their relation this season (yes i ship it, whatever) and also also wanna see what's gonna happen with Kang overall and with Sylvie. She wasn't having a good time there.

So quick add, I just realised why the comparison fucks with me so much more than other shit and it's cuz it reduces both finales to shipping, thats why it annoys me, it essentially undermines Loki's whole arc and reduces it to shipping and it also undermines just how bad spn ended and why its bad since it also reduces it to a ship. Neither are bad or good because of a ship being canon or not on its own and seeing this comparison makes it seem very much like thats the reason spn ended bad and equally makes Loki ending bad because of course it would if the ship didnt go the way you wanted it. But thats not the way to measure a show like Loki or Spn, or at least def not the only measurement to apply for the end conclusion.

Let’s talk about Kururu, again

Apparently the fandom is growing all of a sudden so I feel like talking about Kururu again cuz that’s all I know how to do and it’s been a while

First off disclaimer that fandom is fandom and anybody can interpret any character any way they want and if you like to portray a character a certain way for whatever reason go for it, more power to you (unless you put them in pedo/incest relationships that are displayed as good in which case fuck you). But in my personal Kirbpinion(TM) the Funimation dub was a fucking mistake because so many fan content creators write a way different Kururu than what he is in canon cuz the dub never got to his best episodes and also upped the sadism to ridiculous levels. Listen I know it’s funny to joke that he’s the kind of guy that has 3 medieval torture chambers but hear me out. Kururu is by no means a perfect person, he’s genuinely pretty rude/blunt (though sometimes his straightforwardness is justified :P), has an ego, sometimes acts pretty gross around others and likes extreme and elaborate pranks way way way too much BUT.

Assuming you’ve watched far enough into the series (like 100+ eps) I do not really understand the interpretation that he doesn’t care about anyone and that friendship and love are things he is totally incapable of. He says that yes but if you pay enough attention to his dialogue it becomes pretty apparent that he displays this attitude for multiple reasons. One is that he does genuinely have a hard time expressing the emotions he feels and often has awkward/guarded ways of doing so. But also he says many times over the course of the series that he has a “reputation” to keep up and wants people to call him a jerk; he wants to look cool and rebellious all the time and he thinks a nasty apathetic attitude is what earns him that status (not claiming that’s a healthy mindset, mind you). He wants to have full control over the way people see him and he gets super frustrated and humiliated when he can’t. This is probably why he gets so upset when people talk about how unpopular he is, because he’s spent so much time honing his image to a T and is like why the fuck isn’t this working?! In other words even though sometimes he is just an actual pain in the neck a lot of his asshole antics are part of a carefully manufactured persona, and he will do anything down to labeling his own memories to prevent other people from seeing through his facade and discovering the parts of him that are vulnerable.

And God forbid anyone does figure out that he does care quite a bit for the people around him, or at least if he didn’t at first he does now. Early on in the series he was commonly referred to as “depressing” and while the meta reason is probably just the anime writers just didn’t know how to adapt the character yet (he started out a little differently in the manga), in canon I believe he was just even more inclined to push everybody away from him, and as he began to get used to working in a group he gradually opened up. He commentates on how “soft” he’s gotten since he came to Earth a couple times, and the fact that he’s surprisingly one of the most loyal to Keroro out of the whole team (in many episodes where everyone abandons Keroro for being dumb he leaves last) and goes out of his way to help when he thinks it’s warranted (he asks for money when things aren’t dire yeah but hey labor deserves compensation :V) shows that he is dedicated to his team. There’s even episodes where he doles out some kind of moral lesson to the squad in his own Kururu-y way, especially to Keroro and Tamama. Even the Hinatas he’ll pitch in to protect when he has to, and we all know he’ll pretty much drop everything if Saburo needs him.

Speaking of which. I think the unspoken reason why he’s best friends with Saburo (besides the surface-level stuff like they’re smart and nerdy and seen as enigmas by everybody else) is because Saburo is the only other person in the cast who understands Kururu’s particular struggle of putting on airs as a means of self-defense all the time. He basically has a carefully managed celebrity life (that he has to constantly work to hide in anime canon), a somewhat formal/reserved public life, and the more quirky enthusiastic side of himself he only shows when alone and to the few people he’s close to and god damn that just sounds like the most exhausting juggling act ever. He has an outlet to free himself through his art but he still has to live with nobody quite knowing what he goes through on a daily basis, which is probably why we see him off on his own for most of the series (until he gets to warm up to everybody better...wonder who that sounds like) and occasionally have his bouts of frustration and insecurity like in 229 where he says “fuck it I’m gonna fight the apocalypse alone because I need something to do,” 354(? I think that’s the number) where he talks about just dropping everything and starting over, and I think one of the Christmas eps where Giroro has to like beg him to go to the Hinatas’ party cuz he says he’s “busy” even though he’s just sitting around pretty much (UPDATE: it’s 294 the implication is probably that he has his show or something but cmon that’s only like an hour lol). I am going off on a tangent now but anyway the point is he and Kururu are the most complicated communicators of the cast and they share feelings only they understand which is why they can more or less read each other’s minds and know exactly what to do when the other is in trouble.

Back to Kururu. Keroro, from what I can tell, is the closest to him out of the Platoon; Keroro gets freaked out by Kururu’s pranks sometimes yeah but they have a lot of common interests as the fun-lovers of the group and Kururu’s also kinda been interested in Keroro enough time follow him around for almost his entire life up to this point so there’s that. He also gets along with the other people he‘s around; we know he and Aki get along from the beginning because of how dynamic their personalities are but later on he gets close to Fuyuki to the point where they just hang out for the heck of it sometimes, and even though Natsumi is very justified in generally disliking him (many of Kururu’s more Eugh moments tend to involve her) even she seems to rely on him often, and in the cursed puppy episode she knows all his favorite foods by heart so she must care in some fashion lol. Dororo and he aren’t evidently super close but I think they get each other on some level as the (in-universe) least popular of the platoon and Dororo at least respects his abilities, and has clearly come to figure out his subtleties based on 229. Giroro and Mois...things get complicated. Just putting on record that I’m not a fan of either ship between Kururu and them. I’ve said this before but I think Giroro and Kururu are in a turbulent sibling-adjacent relationship in that they have completely opposing attitudes but they have a begrudging sense of respect for each other and, ultimately, they’re teammates, so they’ll defend each other when someone they don’t know tries to mess with them. I really don’t think the flirty stuff on Kururu’s end goes beyond teasing and I got kinda sick of that running gag if I’m being honest. (You can probably tell which frog I ship Kururu with by now :P) Mois went from something of a rival to Kururu to his lab partner, which is probably why he goes easier on her than he used to and even strikes up something of a friendship because the only other person he knows that might be capable of handling his technology is an Earthling who’s still against the invasion despite his lax attitude so. She helps :V

Now the question is why Kururu acts like he does if his relationships really aren’t all that bad and I think there’s two components to this. I’ve made it clear by now I think he’s autistic but your mileage may vary there. I think personally his childhood did something to the way he processes things as well. In Secret of the Kero Ball, he’s got a bandage on his head which may imply he got hurt somewhere and then he almost drowned which canonically definitely did something to him lol, was mostly seen alone so who knows if he has a family he still talks to, and then he got drafted into the army and placed into a high-ranking position of great responsibility at a very young age; it’s kind of a no-brainer why he rebeled and got demoted eventually. I’ve got plenty of headcanons about what his early days in the Military did to him but that’s for another day because good God this post went on too long.

In short: Kururu is possibly the most complicated character in the show and the F in Flanderization stands for “Funimation.” That’s it I’m never writing another essay about pee-color frog again I will make real content again at some point I promise

So like. I had someone tell me that Rexsoka is pedophilia, right? Cuz people went into body maturity and all that bullshit, but please listen.

Ahsoka and Rex - 5 year difference. Rex is younger than her. Yes his body may age differently which makes him physically like maybe 5 years older than her, but he's technically still younger than her.

Anakin and Padmé - 5 year difference. Anakin was 19 around the time he got married to a 24 year old. He's just a year over the age of consent and technically wouldn't even be considered an adult yet

Han and Leia - 10 YEAR DIFFERENCE. Han is older by 10. FUCKING. YEARS. You wanna talk about different body maturities? Bam man. She was only 19 when they first met. He was 29

Anakin and Obi Wan - 15 YEAR DIFFERENCE. Anakin was 9 when he first met Obi Wan. Kenobi was 25. There's some more body maturity for all you technical folk who wanna dive in on that.

Anakin and Ahsoka - 4 year difference. Anakin is only 4 years older than Ahsoka so. That's not bad

Kanan and Hera - 4 year difference. Not too bad either. I can quote on what season but Kanan was 30 and she was 26. Idk if that was at the start of the show? Or the end of the show, but eitherway.

Obi Wan and Padmé -10 year difference. Obi Wan is older. Again with "body maturity".

Obi Wan and Satine - sadly I couldn't find when Satine was born but I'll bet my ass there is an age gap.

Rey and Kylo - 11 years. Dude she was like 19 when they first met. He was around 30 years old. Need I say more. 30 year old crushin' on a 19 year old. We all know ya boy is just a emo wannabe. He's got a mental maturity of 0%

So clearly Star Wars ships aren't about "age" and "body maturity" so all of you haters on simple ships like Rexsoka can shut your mouth. Ok but thank you for being brave enough to be vocal about anisoka. I grew up watching the clone wars (I was 10 when it started) and I loved that ship so badly from the start. People are so mean to us, but they don’t understand why people like the ship. So thank you for posting about it. Really. From the bottom of my heart.

It really means a lot to me and the rest of the shippers! 🥰 I totally understand your feelings of people saying some mean things about us and our love for anisoka ❤️ Your truly amazing yourself for sticking with anisoka for such a long time and dealing with toxic people like that. And your right in that they don’t understand why we ship them. All they see is age but that doesn’t make sense anyway since Padme was older than Anakin. So that argument is totally invalid. Apparently, a guy can be younger in a relationship but a girl can’t. Talk about double standards. 

Also, Anakin and Ahsoka aren’t related by blood, so how the heck is it gross? Apparently, seeing someone as a brother/sister makes it unacceptable. Well here is a little culture101 for them. Many cultures (ie. Asian) have all girls and guys think of other boy and girls as brother and sister because it’s used as a term of respect. Many of the girls/guys might even eventually marry those same ppl they thought of as siblings at one point. Seeing someone as a sibling vs being their actual sibling is two different things. It’s not the cultural norm in the western world so many call it gross. Let’s not forget the double standards again cuz wasn’t like more than half of the western world Game of Thrones fans that supported incest ships? So yeah can’t understand the hate towards Anisoka at all! 

I am actually really glad you reached out about this :) To be honest, I was actually pretty scared of posting things about anisoka in the very beginning. After seeing how much support and love there was from other anisoka shippers I became comfortable and confident enough to just be open about it and not give a crap about what others have to say. Not gonna lie thou it takes time to not care about what others think but eventually when u start hearing lame-ass reasons as to why someone hates u and ur ship it just becomes annoying and u just get an urge to fight back. That’s when you serve the facts while not giving a shit about what they think. It’s fine to not like someone else’s ship but to hate on someone for liking that ship is just low and pitiful! Grow tf up ppl!

Hmm. I don’t really ship Undertale very much apparently, because I couldn’t think of any OTPs. I see most of the relationships as platonic. 

Short answer: Not really.

I guess this will mostly be my thoughts on ships I don’t mind. 

First, Toriel and Asgore. I personally find the rift in their relationship more Toriel’s fault than it is Asgore’s. I wouldn’t mind if they got back together. Also not a big deal if they don’t. It all depends on Toriel’s grudge, I guess. I’m not sure what got between them in Deltarune though, so I guess they split whether or not Asriel’s death, human souls and children, and barriers are factors. 

Sans is shipped a lot. I can’t really see him getting into any serious relationships. He obviously cares about Papyrus and Toriel the most. I don’t do the whole incest shipping thing, so that’s out. They’re great skelebros. As for Toriel...

I don’t mind Soriel. It has a basis for a relationship. But my problem with it is that they aren’t close enough in age(equivalent age, at least). He calls her an old lady, so...I don’t think he sees their relationship as anything other than pun buddies. 

Disregarding canon, I don’t mind AlphysxSans. They have something in common (science) even if it’s different fields(not sure San’s field, but I imagine him as a physicist, dabbling in astronomy and possibly meteorology(mostly on the surface cuz you can only get so much from limited access to books and glowing cave crystals). And Sans’ laid back personality could be helpful for Alphys. But the darker aspects of him might not be best for a relationship. All his secret-keeping could probably be damaging, especially to someone like Alphys who would assume the worst. Plus, Alphys is taken. So there’s that. 

Again with disregarding canon. Mettaton x Alphys is okay I guess. I don’t really see that one around much, but I could potentially see it happening. Mettaton is a bit vain, which could throw a wrench in any relationship, but he also did go through the trouble of helping Alphys “help” Frisk (even if he sorta threw it all out the window at the end by actually fighting Frisk). But at the same time, I don’t really imagine them being each other’s type. As friends, sure. Anything more, not really.

I could see Sans x Drunk Bunny. Mostly one-sided. Could also just be flirty and nothing substantial beyond that. Drunk Bunny would probably flirt with anyone.

I don’t think about the kids too much. Cuz shipping them with adults is uncomfortable, and they’re a bit young to date each other. Platonically speaking, they’re all great. Even Flowey. 

To sum it up: I mostly just see everyone as friends. Not much beyond that. 

Although, if we’re considering Deltarune, Susie x Kris is sorta growing on me.

VOLTRON SHIPS: In my opinion. Please don't hate.

Personally, I really like Klance and it just doesn't feel right to have Shieth b/c they are like brothers and it makes me feel like it's incest plus the age difference doesn't help. Allurance feels way too rushed in my opinion, so does Acxa and Keith, I think they'd be better off as friends then together. The great thing about Hunk and Pidge is that they don't need anybody, romantically that is, they are perfect the way they are. In my personal opinion, I think that Hunk and Shaye becoming a thing is great but not necessarily on the to-do list. Allura needs to sort her shit out before she dates anyone. She's a mess right now and is all over the place. I feel that she's just using Lance as a way to get over her heartbreak subconsciously. I think Lance will just end up being her rebound from DARK PRINCE LOTOR THE TERRIBLE. Coran is perfect and so is Romelle. After watching S7 I think the team needs a minute to chill w/ their fam and take a break cuz God knows they need it.

Personal Perspective On Brothershipping... (aka Tabloidshipping)

[Please NOTE: This is not in reference to people who use ship names for just any kind of relation-ship & use these terms platonically. This is about the troubling romanticizing of incest.]

The thing that I have seen way too much of in my time is the unmistakable sexualization of Mokuba with Seto in art & fics. It used to be called Brothershipping, now it’s apparently called Tabloidshipping. Luckily, I don’t seem to have encountered any of that specifically anew around Tumblr. Still, I would like to address this topic, especially since I have been casually mistaken as having just such an inappropriate relationship. Now, I do love all the brother closeness. It’s how Seto captured my heart in the first place. My little brother and I started off the show both rooting for Yugi/Yami since he was the star. We both thought Kaiba was a dick, an easy Saturday-Morning cartoon side villain. But then, he broke into his hidden underground base, hacked into Pegasus’ system, and once that was done, flew straight to Duelist Kingdom. And along the way, he tripped that eldest protector switch in me.

Me: *cheers* Bro: ?_? “Are you rooting for… Kaiba?” Me: “Um, yeah, actually…” Bro: “But he [litany of crimes by ep9]!” Me: “Well, yeeeah, but he’s going to save his brother!”

He rolled his eyes and smirked and actually hasn’t brought it up specifically ever again. Though sometimes, he still likes to confuse people by hugging me & calling me “Big Brother!” in the most annoying voice he can. 😏 Mind you, I am a girl, and he’s since gained nearly a foot on me. Since leaving for college in 2006, and telling stories to people I meet around Philly, every so often I’ll get someone looking at me cockeyed. Some people flat out don’t believe in anyone having a good relationship with their siblings, that I should never take him in account, or that I should try to work against him. Others think that it’s too close quarters to have shared 1 copy of Pokemon Blue. And even a couple closest friends get to saying that we’re too close. *shrug* I dunno, we don’t live in a development and went to a relatively small Catholic school? So we just played together ourselves? Anyway, why would it be a bad thing to enjoy hanging out, playing, and working with your sibling? We also have a family business, and lived with our abusive grandmother, who in turn screwed up our dad, who in turn has been passing it on to us... It’s better to stick together. Now, I’ve been engaged since 2011, and he got engaged this past November. More than once, I’ve been seriously asked if he’s who I’m engaged to. Uhh, how many people around the world are married and also have siblings who are married? Why would someone’s first assumption be that they’re married to each other?! My brother & I have always shared, well, like 90% of our things. We will basically cuddle up on the couch watching TV or something - though I guess for proper comparison here it’s just lazy laying-on-top-of or leaning against. If either of us were “cuddling” with our S.O.s, it’d be a completely different picture. On family vacations in hotels we’ve shared a queen bed and kicked our sister to the pull out bed, cuz she ends up sticking ice cold feet all over you and sometimes sleeps with her eyes open - which. is. horrifying. 

It’s the CONTEXT. Just cuz you’re close, enjoy being together, work well together, and would do anything for each other, does not mean... THAT. And it’s seeing a sibling relationship taken too far that is really a betrayal of that very closeness. It’s a slap in the face of any notion of protecting. Once you sexualize a relationship like that, especially with any kind of difference in age or will, it becomes one simply taking advantage of the other. THAT is a form of abuse. Judging by the # of fics he’s the star of on ffnet, I’d say that Seto’s got just a bit more of a fanbase than the actual star of the show. However you slice it, it’s a lot. And strangely enough, Brother/Tabloidshipping can be tricky to avoid even when you’re say, just browsing Google Images or on Youtube, or DeviantArt specifically. An unedited screenshot of them together may be tagged straight up Tabloidshipping. One second there’s a great brotherly love hug, desperate not to lose each other - it may be described strictly as not any kind of romance. Next to that there’s one of them literally kissing, &/or literally disrobing one another - with or without explanation. And under that, another warm cuddling hug - only its text is ambiguous. Well... which is that one supposed to be??? Don’t forget, some people do use “Brother/Tabloidshipping” for platonic, healthy sibling relationships!  Now, how on earth are you supposed to take ANY pic of them? Are they sharing a bed cuz the kid is scared and they both have abandonment issues, or cuz someone doesn’t know how to treat siblings? And that mistreatment has always been sooo rampant with these 2. It is and has been so pervasive that every single pic, every single interaction comes under scrutiny. They’re fictional characters, so the fan creating for them could have either idea in mind. If you don’t want to support the incestuous taking-advantage-of angle, that leaves you with either a lot of research to do into random strangers, or a constant feeling of awkwardness and uncertainty. Perhaps we need a differentiating tag between the wholesome brotherly love Kaibas, and the incest. I simply use “Kaiba brothers” instead, so there can be no confusing it with a romantic “ship.” Well, til this is ever sorted out, here’s where I stand on this surprisingly confusing topic. Responses welcome. =) (Especially if you have a differentiation solution!)
