I was wondering if you could do a simplified way to read a chart. like use an example chart and show where you start with and so on

how to read a chart: the planets' signs and houses

the most simple way to read a chart is to break things down by sign, planet, and house. its better to start with the basics then step it up to evaluating the aspects in a chart, degrees, house rulers, asteroids, etc. there is plenty more to look at but this is a starting point - if there is interest, i will continue the discussion in a series. i am going to do something that i have never done before and dissect my own chart in front of everyone who is reading this in the most non-biased way in which i am capable.

the ascendant

pisces: as we know, a pisces rising is a skilled chameleon. they are so skilled that they can vanish into their surroundings. it is uncommon for a pisces to stand out even though they can be thought of as beautiful. most people take them for granted - people don't often give them the recognition they deserve. and because they don't, a pisces rising will undervalue themselves. not that they really want tons of recognition and power - that can be too much for an aloof and dreamy pisces person. a pisces rising is likely to create a persona to present to others - they can very quickly lose their true self to it too...

sun

scorpio: its like a dramatic love story - sex appeal meets jealously and obsessiveness. scorpio suns are known for their depth, obsessive, and analytical thoughts. they, like sheldon cooper, "don't need sleep" they "need answers". they will take things to the extreme if they don't find the answers they seek. they seek insight and intimacy - they want everything they can get out of life. scorpios are natural chasers - persistent ones at that. they are a bit childish though because they want everything to themselves including their knowledge - they might even weaponize what they know to be cruel to those they feel wronged them.

8h: 8h sun people are deep people - they don't do fluffy stuff. they like things succinct and purposeful. often they are identified as know intuitives - i mean they have the ability, they just need to tap into it and use/control it. they often hunger for self-knowledge (stuff like shadow-work, psychology, astrology, philosophy, etc is attractive to them). introspection is an art form for them. they enjoy analyzing and obsessing over things like that. either a 8h sun is driven by sex OR money, growth, and power OR maybe all of the above.

moon

scorpio: they have a very deep well of emotional energy - they feel nothing halfway. they are easily provoked and can go 0 to 100 very quickly (they are prone to boiling over / experiencing sudden outbursts). every emotion is very pure/vivid. they can be harsh and even cruel in emotional situations... emotionally, they are possessive and tend assume that others around them don't have it as bad as they do. everything can be a comparison for them - if someone is upset over something, they will comment with something "worse" that they previously experienced. they are quick to respond/react - they aren't the type to think before responding when they are upset. though they are sensitive, they have great inner strength and have the power to overcome any difficult emotional situations.

8h: emotionality is like a sixth sense - these people are intuitively gifted; they can sense not only their own feelings but everyone else's around them too. they are often obsessive when they feel intensely like this, especially when they are romantic. trust to them is the most important part of any connection. they are naturally jealous and suspicious of others so when they can't trust someone to be honest with them, they won't be vulnerable at all - they become cold and stoic. their trust issues are next level and often need professional help to work through. security is important to them in all senses so monetary savings are of their interest too.

9h: there is a great hunger for travel and experience when it comes to this person. they are extremely likely to fall in love with a foreign land or a foreigner. it is considered rare for them to never travel and to in the stay in the same place they were born life long. they are notably wise and philosophical people who have an idealistic view and opinion of the world around them. university is likely to be an enjoyable experience for them where they gain more than just bookish experience that impacts them life long.

mars

virgo: these are willing and hard workers. they have a lot of nervous energy and tend to want to keep their hands busy - they don't do well when there is nothing to do. it makes them edgy and tense. they require a steady routine and timetables. without such things they might lose motivation to get anything done and they likely feel pain bodily (they have a stomach ache, head ache, skin issues, etc). but when they have something to do they are patient and detailed with their work. if they lack self-confidence, their work could fail to come to fruition. too much attention to detail may lead to analysis paralysis.

7h: these people are passionate and are willing to work through anything in a connection. they do have the tendency to push their partners too much to the point where they push them away. their relationships are always with a sense of purpose and direction - they are unlikely to date without intentions of a long term connection. these partnerships are great for those that professionally work together as well - they tend to have a shared objective in that monetary matter.

gemini: these people are knowledge starved. enough is never enough for them - they are intellectually restless. they could seem very scattered because they seek knowledge of all things. they need to be more consistent with their efforts if they wish to gain anything at all. these individuals are broad/open minded and tend to be very clever. they have a quick mind that critically thinks in the craftiest ways possible.

3h: these people feel a great need to exercise their mind, and they seek intellectual challenges. often they wish to share their opinions and they tend to impose them on to others (they frequently think their opinion is fact). they have excellent communication skills and a great sense of what is just and what is not. they are people of their word and that word is reliable. they love school and to learn - even when school ends for them, they will continue to seek education. they are restless people who need both mental and physical mobility.

saturn

taurus: these people are patient, careful, and cautious. they will persist despite suffering until they have or accomplish whatever it is they want. while they are typically kind they can however become mean and overly frugal. they are ambitious and often seek financial stability which can support their their lifestyle. they frequently will ask if they truly need something however. they are overly rigid and routine oriented. they grow to appreciate what is functional over what is beautiful.

aquarius: i feel like this is why we are the way we are online as a generation. we can be hyper emotional one moment then cold and detached the next. we like to stand out yet we are followers of trends and prefer to blend in. we are sensitive and intuitive, yet uncomfortable with dependence and prefer a touch of logic.

11h: these people tend to have a lively social life that keeps them busy, however, they might not have the best circle of friends. their friends might take them in, only to use them. their caring nature is often used. they enjoy helping others. they aren't fans of having lots of responsibilities. they might be very worried or concerned when having such - heavy expectations cause them too much stress.

9h: this is a compulsive studier who loves a mental challenge. it doesn't matter how advanced the topic is, they desire it. often to the point of mental strain. they desire intellectual perfection - this is their downfall as they force themselves to the extreme and only become unhappy with their progress and frustrated with themselves. they frequently give up and walk away in a dramatic fashion to their detriment. apart from that, i recommend that they visit a country apart from their own as they are likely to gain significant experience and knowledge in a foreign place apart from the one they already know.

the midheaven

sagittarius: to an outsider they appear excited and enthusiastic to just exist in a space. people might see them as risk takers. they are boisterous to those that watch them - they are charming, flirty, and quite funny. but they need to be careful their charm and flirtiness can attract the wrong people or cause them to assume the wrong instincts. not everyone finds the jokes that are made funny - some find them insulting. they can also seem flighty and like they do too much at once. it is important that they read the fine print of any public or high up position that they take.

You both kissed for a long time, caressing each other, feeling love bubbling in your chests like never before, your hearts thinking about the future that was coming your way, together.

It could be complicated, the effects of that island might never completely go away. Perhaps you would wake up some nights with terror on your skin, perhaps sometimes panic would dominate your minds, perhaps memories would paralyze you in the dark. But you shouldn't face that alone anymore, ever again. Perhaps that time, when the helicopter had hit the ground, the impact had bound your hearts together, for the rest of your lives.

I guess it clicked to me and, unsurprisingly, it’s all related to childhood trauma in my case.

I want a family. My own family, that I build with my own hands. A chosen family turned into the “real” thing (I would argue that chosen families are the real thing. Blood is not a strong link, emotional connection is).

When I start looking into things from that perspective, it all makes sense. I can understand now why I remain disconnected, I can understand now why all these means to find love and romance feel so insecure and fleeting, I can understand why going out there and being around people feels pointless.

“Well, I’m not going to find the safety and stability to start building my family here.”

Possibilities don’t feel safe or stable, and possibilities are all people can offer.

If I am too forward on what I need and want from another person, then that’s really scary for them. I have to find a person who’s on the same page as me, someone who also wants to form a family.

I’m not talking about marriage and kids, even though marriage would probably be what feels safest, emotionally and legally speaking. I don’t want kids and I would not be with someone with kids or who wants them. I have enough stress keeping myself alive and sane, I don’t need any more stress or responsibilities.

Family feels like the long-term bond and unbreakable connection that would feel safest for me. It’s deep commitment and, to me, deep intimacy.

Most people I have met are not ready or do not want a family, not in that way, or not at all. Or... something else entirely! Apparently, it’s very hard for people to talk about their feelings and to be vulnerable, to communicate their desires and more. It doesn’t work if I’m the only one doing it.

Regardless, maybe they already have a family, maybe it’s good enough for them. That also explains why I feel misplaced: there’s no space for me in someone else’s family, as I don’t want to be a simple addition (meaning, I can be discarded at any point too). I am important and I am special, I’m not willing to go through pain anymore, for others to experiment, or maybe to “try it out and see”, or to heal their unresolved issues, or to be someone’s extra lover, a backup or secondary or some sort.

Going down on their level only ended up leaving me scarred and resentful - understandably so! It doesn’t work out when the give and take is one-sided - I guess this is what means to do things “normally” but I cannot afford “normalcy” anymore.

I don’t think I’m flaunting myself, but I could be wrong, who knows? All I know is that my self-worth and peace of mind are priceless and I’ll only exchange that for something (or someone) that I feel like it’s worth it.

Most people feel like a waste of time.

And yet, my yearning is stupid, it doesn’t filter people at all. I look at people outside and I fall in love so easily. I feel like it’s even worse now, as if the mere presence of another human being who catches my eyes is enough to disarm my meticulously arranged walls and tear down my defenses. But I don’t act on it, I don’t want to come off as creepy when I’m longing, and I know, from experience, most people are unavailable in one way or another.

So... I’m special and important and my self-worth is not willing to step down and stay with all these mere mortals; at the same time, my eyes keep on searching for someone, anyone special, a person who I can share my life with.

Let’s talk about ‘Friends’ by BTS

Friends is the subunit song by Jimin and Taehyung (co-written and co-produced by Jimin) from Map of the Soul : 7 which was released in February 2020. Interestingly enough, the Korean title is actually 친구, a word that is only used for friends of the same age, which is how ARMY figured out that it had to be their subunit prior to the release of the album.

On a very surface level, Friends is about the bond between Jimin and Taehyung recounting different little stories over the years, including the now famous dumpling incident which was first presented to us as a conflict that merely took up a few hours. Actually though it was a conflict that grew big enough that Jimin and Taehyung barely spoke to each other for two weeks and it culminated in Jimin getting drunk with Yoongi and then meeting Taehyung at a park at 4 am to make up. Yes, the same park at 4 am that Taehyung and Namjoon sing about in 4 O’Clock. That song, like many suspected, really was about Jimin and Taehyung as well.

But, while Friends might seem simple and fun on the outside, especially due to the upbeat melody and anthem like chorus, I think there is far more to it than meets the eye. Stella Jang, who co-wrote the lyrics, said in an interview with K-Pop Herald that BigHit sent her an email which contained the song as well as long stories about Jimin’s and Taehyung’s bond and based on that she was supposed to write short lyrics. She also had a friend, who is an ARMY, help her truly understand the depth of their bond. That alone to me shows that this goes far deeper than most might assume, and others wish for it.

This verse for me is very interesting, especially since Jimin reclaims a nickname that people used to call Taehyung by which he hated. Instead Jimin turned it into something endearing, something that now belongs to them instead of others. It’s also noteworthy that that specific line is in English, not Korean, and he says my alien, so basically telling the listener that he takes some kind of claim over Taehyung, connects them in a way that anyone would understand, and unmistakably highlights that he’s the only one to call him like this because Taehyung is special to him, much the way you’d call someone dear to you/someone you love by an endearment such as ‘my darling’ or ‘my love’.

The mystery part could refer to the early days of their friendship, the times when they were just getting to know each other and trying to figure out their dynamic and each other in a more general sense. We know they almost instantly became friends, stuck to each other and spent a lot of time together, despite constantly getting in little fights, but perhaps those struggles were what made the end result that much more special to them. Interesting to note is also how Jimin once said that when he saw Tae for the first time he experienced many different emotions (he didn’t specify which ones though), and how to this day he remembers Tae only wearing those red shorts and snapback and how even then he already looked like an idol/celebrity. 

But the line could also refer to something more recent, or something more overarching, like a secret about themselves that only they know about, that they share and guard together.

These two might just be the most important parts of the song, and the ones that seem to be the hardest to swallow for some. This is basically Jimin and Taehyung asking each other to stay together forever, even when (or especially when) their careers will be over and BTS won’t be such a main and overarching reason for them to stay by each other anymore, so to speak. It implies that what they have is something they want to last forever, that it reaches far beyond them just being two best friends inside a group, but that they are rather two people who found ‘their person’ in each other. They know they’ve found something one of a kind, once in a lifetime, and want to hold on to it, to each other. It’s also them proclaiming and reminding everyone once again that they are soulmates, that this isn’t just something ARMY made up, some shipping agenda or anything like it, but that it is truly the title they see most fit for each other, that it basically feels like their bond was destiny and they were always meant to be together. You are my soulmate is also in English, something that every listener will understand, something so important they specifically made it this way so you wouldn’t need to look up translations from Korean to get it.

Sidenote--somehow soulmate has become a very debated term in connection to vmin so lets look at the definition for soulmate that wikipedia gives us: A soulmate is a person with whom one has a feeling of deep or natural affinity. This may involve similarity, love, romance, platonic relationships, comfort, intimacy, sexuality, sexual activity, spirituality, compatibility and trust. Most of these are rather connected to the most traditional way in which people imagine soulmates, as in two people destined for each other, lovers perfect for one another. Of course there are friendship type soulmates, but those are far more rare in peoples minds. The point I’m getting at is that Jimin and Taehyung never defined which type of soulmate they are, and until I saw non-vminies have a fight about how they’re definitely just platonic ones, I never even really saw the word soulmate in connection with ‘platonic’. In a way you could argue that both sides are right, that they are both friendship soulmates but also romantic ones as well, their bond encompassing both. But in the end, of course, that’s something only they can confirm yet I thought I’ll mention it anyway.

These lines may seem so simple, short and sweet, but I think there is a lot of meaning to them, a lot that’s written between the lines and potentially only something they understand the true extent of. I know your everything is another reminder that they are each others secret keepers, each others closest confidants, their person to go to and laugh or cry or celebrate with. Jimin and Taehyung have something that is rare, one of a kind, and it’s something beautiful that should be regarded with respect and wonder since it’s close to a miracle that they met and formed their bond in such a manner. After all Jimin is from Busan and Taehyung from Daegu, chances are, if BTS hadn’t happened, they might’ve never met, though looking at everything BTS have said about each other, they seem to believe they were all destined to meet regardless if as members of BTS or as normal people. The same most likely would’ve also have been the case for Jimin and Taehyung, and Friends is a beautiful piece of proof of that.

Many dismiss Friends as just a song about their friendship, but I think once you truly think about the lyrics and the thoughts that must’ve gone into it, you might change your mind. Even more so when you take into account what Namjoon said about Friends in his MOTS:7 vlive, how he wouldn’t even dare try writing any of the lyrics because he could never, ever do them justice, and how just thinking about the bond Taehyung and Jimin have, he gets goosebumps. That alone already says a lot, implies a lot of different things, very deep and (in my opinion) potentially more than just friends type things. There was also a moment during Bon Voyage 3 in Malta where Namjoon and Seokjin were at a restaurant together and somehow they brought up Taehyung and Jimin and both just shook their heads at how they are just--something, something apparently meaningful enough neither dared to voice it.

Friends might not be something you’d call a traditionally romantic or love song by any means, at least sound wise, but I’d argue the lyrics tell a completely different story, one of a bond that binds two souls, that combines friendship and love (both the love you have for a cherished friend, but also the one you feel for a romantic partner, I’d argue). The song, as well as 4 O’Clock are far more than meets the eye, you just have to be open and willing enough to see it.

After all Taehyung did say: “95z is love.” The biggest clue of them all.

And no, I haven’t actually watched the last episode yet.  I’ve been putting it off all morning.  For reasons.  Reasons that I felt the inexplicable need to put on paper, er, screen.  

If you care at all to read the purging of my fatigued TWD fangirl mind, please look beneath the cut.  Fair warning.  It’s long so pull up a chair maybe, lol.  

I’ll admit it.  The spoilers indicating a significant lack of Carol/Melissa content has dampened much of my enthusiasm and there wasn’t all that much to start with.  

Let me tell you why--

The season, so far, has been woefully unbalanced in favor of the Reaper storyline and the Maggie/Negan conflict (which ties back to the Reaper storyline by the flimsiest of strings) and I’m just not invested.  

Why?  

Well, it’s multifold.  

#1 reason why?  Having a third of the last season ever of TWD devoted to going inside “the lions’ den” of villains I have no emotional connection to or curiosity about is a big fat fail.  

You might say “but there’s the Daryl double agent” aspect and I say “so fucking what” because it was so poorly conceived and has felt like such a WTF set of fraying puppet strings for this plot Angela was apparently jonesing to tell from the GO, damn the torpedoes she had to know where inevitably coming her way.  

Seriously.  I had talked myself into accepting that which I could not change, citing Daryl’s emotional brokenness after Rick.  Convincing myself he’d lost his anchor to goodness and hope and fulfillment in his years of self-imposed exile from Carol and what was left of his family and to a certain extent?  I can still by that explanation.  But really.  It’s the Leah of it all.  

Let me attempt to explain.  

To do that, maybe I should detail how I’ve always perceived Daryl.  

Daryl, IMHO, began this journey with us and the rest of Team Family with a figurative fortress erected around his true, core self.  

He was prickly.  Defensive to any overtures of kindness because he inherently did not trust them.  Loathe to form any real connection to anyone other than Merle, his blood.  

Daryl balked at the possibility of emotional connection and flinched in learned fear from physical touch.  

He did not recognize or accept affection or respect at face value because it was something rarely shown to him before.  

Anybody else remember that childhood abuse book from Consumed?  You know.  One of those first times the showrunners/writers dumped a character nugget in our laps and left it to us to do all the backstory in our own imaginations so they didn’t have to enrich their own characters beyond the scratch and sniff, wham bam this is who they are work?  

Anyway.  We were left to extrapolate from that what most of us h ad already suspected--that Daryl’s formative years were already a living hell before the ZA ever happened.  

So he was standoffish.  He didn’t form emotional connections lightly and physical intimacy was something light years out of his comfort zone.  

Until Carol.  

Daryl’s defenses started to crumble from the very start with Carol because she piqued his interest.  He looked at her, watched her withstand Ed’s abuse, and recognized something of himself.  

Against his will, Daryl started to care and when Carol lost the one good thing that had come out of her miserable life with Ed--Sophia--Daryl’s core identity started to be revealed to us and probably?  To himself after burying it so deep for so long.  

Long story short?  Daryl connected with Carol pretty quickly on a base level through the trauma of Sophia’s loss.  

The real connection, the emotional work it too to peel all those protective layers away took more like--like planting a flower from seed and tending it to help it survive and flourish.  

Simply said?  The work was put in and Daryl bloomed with Carol’s (and Team Family’s) care.  They all put in varying degrees of work but Carol planted the seed of his “belonging.”  

And the thing about Daryl?  Once he bloomed?  He grew strong.  He stretched toward the sun.  

He and Carol essentially bloomed and fought their way toward the sunlight together.  

And little by little, Daryl learned to accept the kindness, trust, and love he always deserved.  

From that newly confident man emerged a Daryl not so fearful of forming connections and none have ever been more powerful than his connection to Carol.  

I’ll spare ya’ll the paragraphs of how Daryl and Carol gravitated toward each other like magnets no matter the means of separation.  

I’ll just spell it out like this:  their bond supersedes all others, even Daryl’s bond with Rick.  And with Daryl only accepting affection from those he trusts implicitly, Carol and Daryl have been the only potential “romantic” pairing that has ever fully made sense for his established character.  

At least the character before Angela launched the grenade of Leah into the mix.  

Leah was a fail from the start.  

And you know what?  I’m thinking that was largely intended (for various reasons) but I still think they could have shown Daryl as receptive to having a “romantic” relationship to those willfully blind to the possibility that he’s actually been in a “romantic” relationship with Carol since Season 2.  Never mind that Carol and Daryl haven’t (yet) crossed certain physical boundaries yet.  Emotionally? They are already there even if neither is able to admit it out loud with the actual words yet.  But I digress.  The people that never wanted to “see” Carol and Daryl as “romantic” because they couldn’t fathom Daryl as seeing Carol in that light had already deemed that Daryl just didn’t feel that way about her, that maybe he didn’t feel that way about anybody (if they couldn’t have their way and have him feel that way about their preferred choice for him, they preferred him alone), and Angela wanted to show them differently.  To show them the light.  

That said, if Angela was so hellbent on doing Leah?  There were a multitude of better ways.  

Here.  I’ll give you one of them.  

Daryl isolates himself from his family after Rick’s “death” same as he did in Angela’s version.  

Carol’s been being pulled more and more to the Kingdom because Henry’s needing a mother figure is like catnip to her hurting natural-born, hurting Mama’s heart.  So Daryl’s anchor to the man he’d matured into, the one with all these earned emotional attachments, is reeled back in, little by little, leaving him unmoored.  

Dog literally runs into him just as before.  It hardly makes sense given how young and floppy and uncoordinated puppies are and thus vulnerable to danger, but this is the least of things we need to worry about suspending disbelief for right?  ;)

Dog and Daryl continue to have these run ins until Daryl decides to retrace the puppy’s clumsy trail and viola!  He finds Leah’s cabin and Leah inside.  She levels the same shotgun at him, they have a standoff, until---

Leah suddenly lowers the gun and incredulously says Daryl’s name.  

That’s right.  One simple change and Daryl and Leah have an undefined past already.  

Daryl doesn’t completely let his guard down because he’s Daryl, but he relaxes enough that we see he doesn’t immediately regard Leah as dangerious to his own well-being.  

From that point on, instead of tying Daryl up and threatening him, we could have been told the story of how they knew each other from before.  

My version goes a little something like this--

Daryl met Leah through Merle.  Merle, in turn, met Leah through the military before he got discharged.  He and Leah had an ongoing “I scratch your itch if you scratch mine” thing and Leah?  Well, she always had a bit of a soft spot/interest in Daryl that Daryl never really returned.  

The thing is, though?  With losing the chosen brother that filled the hole left behind by his lost blood brother Merle and losing Carol to her chasing after a chance of a new family (because she feels Daryl’s out of her reach too, our too blind and stupidly, silently in love idiots)?  Daryl finds himself embracing the shared memories however minimal of that brief past and his grief and loneliness leave him receptive to Leah’s eventual advances in ways he never was before.  

We’re still given hints of their unfolding relationship and we still don’t like it, but it makes more sense for Daryl to cling to the past when he feels he’s lost his future.  

Leah still gives her ultimatum (there’s a reason she gravitated toward Merle in perhaps his most toxic state, she’s more than a little fucked up too) and it’s not as much of a hard sell that Daryl might be pulled in Leah’s direction when he feels Carol is all but lost to him.  

Hell.  They could have even explicitly discussed Carol.  But wait!  Angela would have never allowed that because she doesn’t want to shatter all the crackship dreams in one fell swoop.  

But the story from that point on could have continued just as it has and probably I still wouldn’t have liked it but I could have at least bought it somewhat and understood it.  

Obviously, it didn’t. 

I don’t buy the Leah of it all.  Angela built that “relationship” with monopoly money and it shows.  

Because I don’t buy Leah period.  I don’t buy Daryl giving even giving a shit about trying to or feeling like there’s a snowball’s chance to redeem her so I’m not engaged whatsoever with this Daryl double agent story and him even givign her crumbs about his real family.  

That part rings false.  

So that’s a big problem right there and we haven’t even gotten to the other part I don’t buy.  

You know what else I don’t buy?  

#2?  

Why the hell are the Reapers so bloodthirsty for Maggie’s departure from this mortal coil?  

Without giving better reasoning than they’re just cray-cray, the entire faceplants and considering it’s taken up about 70% of 11A’s focus?  I’m pissed.  

Because, IMHO, they should go big or go home on this to give it any entertainment value because it’s all stale, recycled air if not.  

Maggie’s been established as a much darker character this season.  Which led me to believer the Reapers probably had a legit beef against her, but it seems Angela is reluctant to go all that way down the rabbit hole and doesn’t want to commit to what could be a more entertaining and potentially fascinating story than just Maggie’s in the right, the Reapers are just evil.  

Maggie is right about Negan, IMHO, but she’s also wrong in not listening to him when what he’s saying reeks of simple common sense.  Ignoring sage advice makes her seem more like an angry toddler stamping her feet in defiance than the leader they are so bound and determined to tell us she is.  

You know what?  The window for me to give more than the half a fuck I’m giving right now as they beat this dead horse to dust closed when Maggie decided letting Negan rot in the ASZ jail cell was enough and spared him when she finally had her best chance to end him once and for all.  

Maybe if they stopped having the same damn conversation and they didn’t take up 20% of the screen time left after the boring Reapers/Leah shit, I would be less resentful but I’m not and again, I’ll tell you why.  

BECAUSE.  We are in the last season of the OG TWD ever and this show has chosen to waste screen time on stories nobody cares about to the exclusion of the ones we’re yearning for more of.  

Like ASZ.  We’ve barely seen more than an hour of the eight hours devoted to Carol, Aaron, Rosita, Lydia, Judith, Kelly, Jerry and Co. in total.  Especially since they’ve been trying to establish the Commonwealth on the side, too.  

I mean, I never really expected to dig the Commonwealth so my expectations for it were lower than low so they’ve been exceeded at a miniscule level.  But I expected and hoped for ASZ and those characters we’ve cared the most about to receive much more emphasis and the fact that they haven’t in this last season so far has been the biggest FAIL.  

And okay.  Selfishly, I want more Carol.  She’s like salt.  She makes almost everything go down better.  

But really. Give me more of all the characters we actually care about, please.  The Reapers and the offshoots from that story wheel aren’t it.  I love Daryl but I hate this retread story for him.  Leah is a weak point that pressed upon?  Makes this weak ass arc collapse.  Maggie and Negan are giving us nothing new.  They are the definition of the word STALEMATE and that’s not what you want or need on the finale season of a show.  

Yes, I have enjoyed the majority of the episodes overall, but that was because the moments I loved I weighted more than the ones I didn’t and know they have the most impact on the show down the road.  

Probably 11A will fare better when all is said and done and the show can be binged but standalone?  It’s been an overall disappointment and that saddens me more than I can say.  

Anyway.  I’m going to stop rambling now and try to psyche myself up for episode 8.  I’ll be back with thoughts on it later, maybe.

Your intuition told you he was genuinely falling for you but you couldn’t reciprocate, constantly giving yourself the excuse of just one more date.

But how to give your heart to him when it already belonged to another?

He pecked your lips lightly and gazed into your eyes, then stepped back and continued, “So I was wondering if you would come back to my place for dinner next Friday?

He looked like a golden retriever yearning for its favourite toy, you didn’t know how to say no to him.

Of course, you weren’t dumb. You knew what he was hinting at. The next level of your relationship was physical intimacy. You were sure this was the longest Genma might have dated someone without indulging in uhh, lovemaking.

You knew he was trying to be patient with you, because you had never gone that far with any of

your previous relationships, third base was foreign territory to you. You knew this was a well known fact among your colleagues but you were over the initial embarrassment now.

But the question was,

Were you ready for that?

He was one of the most sought after bachelors in Konoha, alongside Izumo, Kotetsu, Kakashi-

Kakashi of course.

Kakashi was coolness personified and you were not even kidding. Almost every one wanted to either be him or be with him. Both applied to all possible genders. Even as a kid, he was a once in a millennium prodigy, the pride of ANBU during his youth, famous in every Ninja village across the world. He was a celebrity for goodness sake! He had his own horde of fangirls and fanboys alike. Kakashi had single digit failed missions in an entire record of few hundreds at least. It was almost an insult to give that skilled shinobi a mission below A rank. You both started alongside ay the academy and you were nowhere near his match. Both as an opponent and a partner. That too in both senses, as a team as well as a couple.

You were sure you were one of the many girls pining after him. Sometimes, you gave yourself false hope that even though you weren’t in the same circle at academy, he might have noticed you, crushed on you, felt the same adoration for you.

But who were you kidding? With a exquisite range of beauties lining up at his doorstep to create his progeny, where would you even stand?

“(Y/N) babe? You alright?” Genma asked snapping you out of your thoughts and you almost forgot he was standing in front of you, actually paying you some of his wanted attention and your younger self might have almost felt giddy about it, but you felt nothing but horrible. Horrible because you couldn’t return the enthusiasm and love Genma was offering to you with a pure heart. Horrible because you couldn’t find it in yourself to be brave enough and confess to someone you wanted to be with so much. Horrible because you knew, somewhere deep inside, that your favourite fantasies of love would never come true. But Genma didn’t deserve this either, he didn’t deserve to be treated this way, and the sooner you told him that, the more heartbreak you would be saving both of you from.

“Genma I have mission on Thursday, which might extend up to weeks. I’m sorry-” That was the truth. It might buy you some time as well to figure out what to say to him.

“Hey, it’s okay, not your fault doll. We’ll reschedule after maybe? That sound good?” He gave you a cheeky smile that you loved. Before any of this, you had been friends and he was a gem of a friend. Loyal, true and charismatic. You nodded a genuine smile up at him and suddenly hugged him, he was a good friend after all and you knew nothing would come in the way of that ever.

“Thank you.” You murmured in his chest and he kissed your forehead.

“Anytime.” He replied and left with a smile.

He knew you needed a friend at the moment and that was all he was being then, a good friend.

It was two nights before your mission when Genma suddenly asked you to meet him at the bar. ‘A casual hangout’ he said. But you knew that was obviously not the case.

You had dressed in a simple attire, a top and jeans, the basic only. You had thought it over the previous nights and finally reached the conclusion, you were going to tell Genma the truth. The exact conversation hadn’t played out in your head but you knew what lines to go along.

You would even tell everyone he dumped you and it would be okay if he never wanted to speak to you again cause you didn’t deserve even his friendship for being so ruthless and downright nasty.

But how would you survive without one of your true companions?

Well that was certainly your problem now, not his. Genma was immaculately kind and genuine and you were a cold bitch.

“This is clearly not working (Y/N).”

Well that wasn’t what you were expecting. You knew what he was getting at but juts so you were on the same page you dumbly asked, “What?”

He sighed and looked in your eyes, giving you a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

“It’s getting kinda obvious. You do know I can read you quite well and I see there’s something you’re trying to hide, something that so clearly shows. I could tell you were moving on, well trying to at least. You gave your heart to him when we were just kids, while I gave mine to you. Funny how fate works?”

Neither of you laughed.

“But I guess this is some sort of karma. And it’s going to hurt me for a bit of time. But I’ll be okay. I can’t see you like anymore though. I really hope he appreciates all the love you have for him. And comes around soon. But stay in my life nevertheless.”

You didn’t realise when you started crying, but your face had heated up and you streams of tears tried to cool it down.

With a shaking sob, you replied, “I don’t deserve you Genma. But I Know you’ll find  another and be just fine. For your sake, I really hope you do. And Thank you.” You wrapped your arms around him while tears landed on both your shoulders.

It must have been so incredibly hard for him to do this yet he never failed to amaze you. You were proud to be a part of his life. You tilted back and looked in his glazed eyes, stood on your toes and pressed your lips to his, one last pasting kiss. There was so much emotion in it, from both sides that you knew you’d never forget this moment ever.

Genma really knew like the back of his hand, you never even said his name but both knew who you were talking about.

Kakashi always sat at the back of the bar, where he could drink his beer without the prying eyes of others trying to see his face. He rarely drank, lest he was with his friends but his heart was aching right now. He had messed up his mission yesterday because he couldn’t think straight after he saw (Y/N) looking as gorgeous as ever With her sleek (f/c) dress and cherry red lips. He might have drooled, he did actually, but gained his senses when he saw Genma accompanying her. He quickly hid, masking his chakra and looked at the happy couple. It was his fault, if anything for never acting on his feelings.

What good are your worldwide achievements if you don’t have a family to share them with?

Both his parents were taken away from him at a very young age and he had no relatives. Studying too hard, over exerting himself and being bratty became his coping mechanisms. Since his early childhood, Kakashi was very independent and self-confident, at times even appearing arrogant and condescending. Despite that, Kakashi was very perceptive and intuitive, quickly realising the situation for what it was. After his father's death, Kakashi became more stern, aloof and cold toward others, dating was never something he considered important, it didn’t even cross his mind. The only people he ever let into his life were a handful of classmates like Gai, Asuma, maybe even Kurenai to some extent but romance was out of his story, At least he thought it was.

He first realised his love at some festival being celebrated in Konoha, when his bored eyes saw you all dressed up, beside your group of friends. You were laughing so wholeheartedly that even tears pooled there. He was thankful for whatever had you wheezing so hard. Sure, he always thought you were attractive, he knew how to appreciate beauty, but for some reason that laugh created a domestic picture in his head and he knew wouldn’t mind listening to it again.

That night he thought about you, like really thought about you. Reminiscing about every encounter you both had ever had, and he fell harder for you the same night. He remembered how you approached him after his father’s passing, the only person whose eyes held true sadness apart from his real friends’ circle.

He knew a lot of his admirers left him gifts at his house, expensive chocolates, cards, bouquets but he knew their intentions were never genuine. But he also remembered that among the lot, were homemade cookies and chocolates. They never had a name but he connected the dots when he found out your distant aunt had some sort of bakery. It was conformed when he saw you travelling through Konoha with several baskets in your hands, Your teen self trying to figure the addresses. He might or not have followed you. Some were your aunt’s deliveries while you brought some of them to your friends’ house and one last basket which you left at his doorstep.

You never approached him after to take credit, or with some other purpose. You didn’t even contact him in academy the next day.

He found himself wishing way too often that you did.

As much of a genius as Kakashi was, it took him way too much time, more than he’d like to admit, several years exactly, to realise the extent of his feelings. It happened when you started to date someone. It never crossed his mind why you never dated before but he wished it could go back to that. He caught you with your date kissing in a park and he swore he heard his heart break. Like really, really break. Then the intellectual finally figured out his Love.

And he knew he screwed up.

 You see her when you close your eyes Maybe one day you'll understand why Everything you touch surely dies.

 After that realization, you plagued his thoughts. He thought he would confess if your relationship ended but he was a coward. And he hated himself for it. He knew how shit his reason of losing you if he confessed was, but it was effective. The amount of close people he had lost just amplified his fear. He couldn’t afford to lose you, even if it pained his heart to admire you just from afar.

He was an exceptional ninja and his alert senses identifies your chakra as soon as you entered. Even in casual clothes, you were the prettiest thing he had ever laid eyes on. His gaze followed your short walk to the bar countertop where he found Genma and his mood turned sour. He was once again reminded of all he couldn’t have.

He observed the couple from a few feet behind his crush, and he saw you both hug suddenly. His heart broke all over again when he saw a tear roll down Genma’s cheek and you pulling Genma in a hot, steamy kiss. Though you both weren’t aware, you made quite a scene in the bar and everyone was gazing right at you both. Kakashi quickly paid for his tab and ran out, breathing heavily.

What if Genma proposed? That was a bizarre thought because he knew you’ve been dating for just over a month but Kakashi didn’t know how relationships progressed. That night found him lying awake in his bed and he came to a conclusion.

That he’d be damned if he let you get away without even trying.

I've seen people suggest that Parker is asexual. I lean more towards demisexual. She has to be emotionally invested in someone to feel comfortable enough for sex. i think between the three she's the least experienced.

Okay, so my answer on stuff like this is almost invariably flexible. For many characters I have a favored interpretation but that doesn't usually keep me from reading/enjoying all sorts of possibilities (with very rare exceptions that I just can't see another way). I just generally enjoy multiple interpretations and don't usually feel locked in to one. So I personally can read Parker's attitude towards sex and romance a few different ways:

Demiromantic Parker - She has had sex and enjoyed it but never really had romantic connections or associations to it. You have sex when you feel horny, simple problem and solution there. Support for this would be the fairly easy way she goes to kissing Hardison (or insinuating more) when she needs a quick excuse for a con, and just in general her tactile approach to experiencing the world: she pokes stuff, tastes things, enjoys exhilarating death-defying stunts. I could see her casually (albeit fairly rarely) just going out and finding someone to hook up with, or taking care of things herself, whenever she feels the urge, nothing to make a fuss about. (It would be very matter of fact. "Hey, do you want to have sex with me?" level bluntness most likely.) On the flip side, emotional intimacy is very new to her and doesn't come easily, and romance in particular is completely new to her - and terrifying. The emotional intimacy of friendship would have already stopped her from scratching that itch with any of the team, but especially once she began feeling romantic interest in them. Dovetails into canon's slow development.

Demisexual Parker - Pretty much all of the above goes, just minus the having sex stuff! She is still totally new to romantic emotions, but while she may have tried it out once or twice out of curiosity, she never really felt sexual desire for anyone before either. These things are happening concurrently for the first time in her life and it is more than a little terrifying until she takes the time to adjust to it. Especially the feeling that she can't control what she wants or reacts to... It adds a new dimension to her uncertainty about being with Hardison at first, but he would help her feel comfortable enough by the time Eliot joins them that it's not much of a concern moving forward. She never really grasps the concept of people being attracted to strangers, much as she recognizes it's a thing that exists; she just doesn't get why it does.

Asexual Parker - She has never wanted sex and still doesn't. With as tactile as Parker generally is, I don't see her to be too sex-repulsed but it's more something she just... doesn't care about. She might have sex sometimes for her partners' sakes and she won't hate it but for her the fun is all in how much they are liking it and how intimate it is with them/how loved she feels. I could see her enjoying watching them have sex even if she didn't want to join in, and making comments/suggestions which are sometimes sincere or helpful and sometimes ridiculous and break the mood (or she sneaks up and tickles one or something).

One things that holds true in all my favored Parker interpretations is that she doesn't want sex all that often, it's true. I do think she would have less experience than the boys but how much less varies on the specific option.

And just for the heck of it, a bonus round for how I typically see the boys' sexuality, though as before I happily accept other interpretations too:

Hardison

Comfortable with his interest in both genders, but tends to lean slightly more towards female partners. He is attracted to people easily enough and has had several romances in the past. However for him, there's never really been anyone serious before the thiefsome. He likes to be open with his partners and likes people just as skilled as he, and has never had a relationship where he could be fully honest/feel on equal footing. Attracted to both Parker and Eliot initially, but fell romantically for Parker soon after; with Eliot it was a bit more of a gradual realization.

Eliot

Either has long since realized he likes men too, probably since his army days or early retrieval career, or is just realizing over the course of the show. Is attracted to women more often either way. He feels and expresses sexual interest easily (except maybe a bit less with men) and is comfortable with both one-night stands and casual dating, but has difficulty with any deep romantic interest. He cares about his partners regardless, but has trust issues and is perhaps some level of demiromantic, making it harder to feel real romantic interest in most cases - probably no one since Aimee. He is attracted to both Parker and Hardison initially (though depending on the interpretation only realizes this about Hardison later), but is professional enough not to show it or want to act on it at all. He soon loves them as friends and then tries to ignore how he is falling for them both for a long time, believing they are good together and that he should just be their friend and have his usual shallow relationships for whatever sexual relief or other companionship needs he wants to fill. Doesn't in any way make the first, second, or probably even third move to join the poly.

So, those are my thoughts on the matter! Basically despite other details I always tend to think Eliot has most sexual and serious romantic experience, Hardison has second-most but the most comfort with romance, and Parker the least of both.

The music in wtFOCK season 3 - Song #19

Zaterdag 21.43 // "Life on Mars?" - David Bowie  

I think it's fair to say that we had more than one hell-week in season 3, this one being the first. When this clip came out, I hadn't recovered from what had happened between them, with Robbe blocking Sander and calling him a slur. Robbe suddenly found himself in a situation, that was so messy that it was almost impossible for him to see a way out of it, and I think we all felt that in some way. Because what would happen next? How was Robbe and Sander going to find their way back to each other after everything? But to add to the mess of it all, wtFOCK chose to drop this clip, and I remember, that I just wanted to scream as loud as I could at the end of the clip, because I understood nothing. This was definitely one of the times, where the name of the show fitted the situation perfectly, because I was truly left with a feeling of "what the fuck just happen?".

At this point, Robbe is willing to try anything, that might help him erase the feelings he has for Sander, he's willing to try anything that might help him feel normal. So, Robbe decides that tonight's the night where he's going to have sex with Noor. It's his last option, the last thing he can do, in order for him to change the situation he's in, because if he succeeds with it, if he can get through it, then maybe there's still hope for him.

Robbe had arranged everything, and it was clear to see how happy and surprised Noor was with his efforts. But even though there is a certain tension between them, I can't help but feel so sad for both of them. Noor is in love with Robbe, she wants to be intimate with him, but she's totally unaware of the fact that Robbe doesn’t feel the same way. I think Robbe felt something for Noor, but not anything romantically, in some ways he was only with her, because he needed to know if he could feel anything for a girl, if he could get turned on by on.

As they walk further into the room, the music in the background gets louder, and it becomes clearer, that Robbe is once again lying to himself by denning his feeling. How can Robbe be over Sander, think that his feelings for him isn't true, when David Bowie is playing in the background, while he's trying to have sex with Noor? As I've written before, David Bowie sometimes seems to be a symbol for Sander, they share a connection, and with his clip, I feel like Sander is very much present because of the song. In some ways, the song is a symbol of Robbe's thoughts, that he can't stop thinking about him, not even when he tries to be intimate with Noor. 

Things are starting to heat up between Robbe and Noor. They're holding each other close, and Robbe is clinging to her in a way that seems almost desperate, like he's trying too hard to get into the right mood, like he's trying so hard to focus on Noor and what they're about to do. But a certain bleached hair boy with green eyes is constantly on his mind, especially with David Bowie singing in the background. The music is also more powerful in this part of the clip, where the beat has more depth to it, which makes everything seem more intense, because for every step they take, the song emphasizes the tension in the room.

Robbe can't escape Sander. He can't escape the fact that what he feels for Sander is so much more, than what he'll ever feel for Noor. And deep down Robbe knows that it's not gonna work with her, that he can't get through it, but he's still willing to try, to give everything he possibly can, because this is his last option.

It hurts so much to watch this clip, and I know I say it a lot, but this is just pain on another level. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be for Robbe, to be in that situation and to feel what he's feeling. Because it's obvious to see how he feels about everything, his eyes literally say it all. Everything just screams discomfort, at least from Robbe's point of view, where Noor seems to enjoy it very much, and in some ways that just adds to the level of sadness, that's present in the clip.

Robbe is trying so hard to enjoy it and be in the moment, but he can't. He's not ready to admit it to himself yet, but he can't enjoy the intimacy with Noor, because nothing about the situation feels right and he's doing it for all the wrong reasons. It breaks my heart to see Robbe like this, that he thinks this is what he needs to do, if he wants to be normal, if he wants to erase his true feelings. It breaks my heart to know that Robbe dislikes himself so much, that he's willing to try anything, that might help him feel something different.

I haven't mentioned the acting yet in these analyses, but I can't comment on this clip without mentioning Willem Herbots, because the performance he gave was truly out of this world. Willem has an ability to change the whole atmosphere of a clip with a simple look and with a simple change in his facial expression or body language, and it's truly the smallest details that makes the biggest difference. In this clip, it's definitely his eyes that stands out for me. The sadness and the pain is just so heartbreaking, and because of Willem's amazing acting, I could feel everything Robbe was feeling in that moment, all of his emotions, all at once.

I feel like wtFOCK has a theme going on, because this song is another example on how people want to escape the reality of the world they're living in, wanting to find another place and another truth for them to flee to. For Robbe, this is his chance to run away from his reality, because if he can get through it, if he can have sex with Noor and develop some feelings for her, then maybe Sander will disappear from his thoughts and life.

When it comes to David Bowie, this song is my favorite and I think it fits the scene really well. I love how the song gets more intense as the heat rises between Robbe and Noor, how the song almost fades away in the background when Robbe is looking at Noor, knowing that the moment has come and that he needs to get into the right headspace, if he's going to get through it. I think it's so clever of wtFOCK to connect Sander to David Bowie, because whenever we can hear Bowie, we also know that Sander is there, either physically or mentally.

But the thing I love most about the use of the song, is how wtFOCK paired it with the end of the clip, because they almost managed to create the perfect ending with the choice of music. As Noor is leaning back towards the bed, the orchestra-like instrumental part of the song reaches its climax, making the moment intense and powerful, and when the song gets down from its climax, Robbe leans down towards Noor and the clip ends. Then we were all left with the uncertainty of how it all ended, what actually happened when the screen turned black. But luckily, wtFOCK was kind enough to give us an answer to that question nine minutes later.

I hate to see Robbe in pain, I hate to see him suffer, and even though it breaks my heart to see him go through this, I also know that this experience was necessary in some way. He could have done something else, and maybe still come to the same conclusion, but his was another turning point in Robbe's life, where he once again realized that sometimes it doesn't always help to run away from the truth of reality. Sometimes the only thing you can do is to face it and don't escape it.

I would say figure out exactly what state the reader is in and exactly what she needs from him on an emotional level.

I ALWAYS have the problem of not knowing how to get them to that point, and it always helps me in a situation like this to figure out what the transaction is. what benefits are they each getting from the relationship. in some cases It’s as simple as... they want to fuck, but this is a little different than that.

i would figure out things like why did Steve leave her and how far is she into finding footing in the aftermath of that. If she’s still spiraling, what makes her want Zemo. Is it driven in any way by his connection to the avengers, is it for REVENGE?

It sounds like for Zemo you’re saying that he is intrigued by Steve not being so perfect, as evidenced by him leaving his partner in the way he did. This links back to figuring out exactly how the relationship ended. One, how much information does Zemo have to draw the conclusion that Steve is in the wrong, or that they were ever together + broke up to begin with, and where does he get that info?

Also, realistically, what makes a man like Zemo (who despite ideological differences was able to find a deep respect for Steve) completely change his mind about who Steve is based on the aftermath of a breakup?

I think Zemos motivations would be a little different but this is not perspective you need to give any weight. It’s your story at the end of the day and it will be lovely! personally I think Zemo is always seeking intimacy in a way he may not be aware of himself. If Steve left her Infinity Era to be Nomad, I think Zemo might be able to relate to these sort of catastrophic worldly events displacing relationships and good things. Maybe they just need to feel connected to someone again.

Maybe he would have sympathy that would then lead to those realizations that she is indeed very attractive, that they have plenty in common.

Any partner of Steve’s is likely to not be 100% pro government or shield or establishment. Theyre a critical thinker, they know from experience that most institutions are not what they seem. Seems unrelated, but these are points that I think might catch Zemo pleasantly off guard and bring them closer.

I don’t know much about other peoples processes. Asking all these questions does not mean there needs to be a point of plot that reveals each answer. Giving yourself the context as a writer makes things flow better and allows you to write them with a better understanding of why they’re engaging in the first place + personally I think creates more tension and pining because you understand the need.

So! It doesn’t need to be super long, is what I’m saying if you just want to get to the smut. It could be a conversation at a bar or it could be weeks of courting. As long as you’re able to establish what you feel like is enough to convey WHY they’re into each other, and the proper amount of mutual wanting in my opinion

My parents are truly incredible with helping me the best they are capable of. They helped me pay for school, among other things, but I doubt they'd help with my first home, whenever that is. I wouldn't really want them to, either, because that's my responsibility for sure. Do you like playing video games? If so, what do you usually play? I love video games, and horror is absolutely my favorite genre. I also love fantasy games though with deep stories. It's shocking, more than anything. You don't expect it. I don't believe it should be encouraged, but only because children just don't know when swearing really isn't appropriate. If/when you have a baby, how do you think you would want to decorate its room? I don't want kids, but I'll entertain the question and assume this is before the child is born and develops interests. Whether it's a boy or a girl, I'd probably go with a cutesy animal theme. Of all the states you have been to, which one did you have the best experiences? Putting aside the AWFUL heat and humidity, I probably had the best time in Florida. I loved all the palm trees, seeing so many lizards on my grandma's patio, and going to Disney World was a blast. I liked that swimming pools were always warm, too. I spent two whole hours resizing the files and re-adding the preview watermark (I deleted the OneDrive folder for space forever ago, but I have the files still), so I hate to sound like an ass, but she better buy something. Between sweating my ass off on location when I shot the wedding, editing those 100+ pictures two years ago, and now re-doing the previews, I have invested so much goddamn time into them that yeah, I think I have the right to be pretty damn salty if I don't hear back from her again. What’re some unspeakable subjects for you? So my sister is a children's social worker, and she shares a LOT of stories with Mom (and me, if I'm present) that I can't listen to. The ones that involve pedophilia and/or rape, especially from the child's very own parent(s), I just cannot listen to. Period.
