#I love rukmini

I’m going to rant about Rukmini real quick
Yk it really bothers me that Rukmini isn’t remembered as much as Radha is. Like I do not understand why she is so remembered when she was in Krishna life for only ten years, eleven at most. And he was ten or eleven when he left to kill Kansa, I highly doubt a toddler was romantically involved with someone like people say. That’s like the last thing on their mind.
Although some people believe that she didn’t exist and was made up by later texts since she wasn’t mentioned in Ved Vyas’ original texts. I personally believe this or that it wasn’t a romantic relationship at all, more of a devotion or friendship, she could’ve been been his babysitter or something and he really looked up to her since she was older than him, to the point that her marriage was fixed with someone else.
But it really bothers me that people remember her the more than other wives of Krishna. Especially when she was barley in his life compared other women. And it really bothers me that people don’t even know who Rukmini is. Rukmini deserved to be remembered along with Krishna just as much as Radha. She was the one who fell in love him without even seeing him or meeting him. She only had his stories that were told to her by other people. She was the one who left her family to be with him, risking never seeing them again. She was the one who planned the whole “kidnapping” because she knew that no one but herself would be able to save her from that marriage. She was the one who had endure the separation from her first child. She was the one who shared her husband with 16107 other women, it couldn’t have been easy. And she did it happily too, something no women today would be able to do. She was the one who took care of Dwarka when Krishna was off helping the rest of the world. She was the one who assumed the form of Mahalaksmi and blessed Sudama and his family with prosperity and beauty. She was the one who held the fort and after Krishna died she was the one who made sure everyone was safely on their way with Arjuna before committing sati. Some say that Dwarka only drowned after Rukmini committed sati because it couldn’t handle being separated from its Queen. After everything she only gets one temple in Dwarka dedicated to her and that away from Krishna’s temple too, when she was the queen of Dwarka while Radha is one of the deities in the Dwarkadhish Temple. Whenever I search up Rukmini and Krishna, Radha is always there, whenever I search up murtis of Rukmini and Krishna, Radha and Krishna are the first to show up. How is that fair?
She’s barely mention in those feminist retellings of the great women of Mahabharata/Hinduism or just videos/books that talk about the awesome/underrated/or misunderstood women in Hinduism, even Gandhari gets a mention but not Rukmini. Lakshmi is sometimes excluded too. I didn’t even know about Rukmini until my parents made me watch the B.R. Chopra Mahabharata over quarantine. I absolutely fell in love with with her and it just makes me upset how people don’t recognize her enough.
Rukmini deserves this too, she deserves all the stories, the songs, the bhajans, the shows, the movies and for her name to taken before Krishna. She deserves so much better and so much more.
Vishnu’s avatar’s subjects have a habit of mistreating his wife. I’ll forever be mad at Ayodhya for questioning Sita and than being all sad after she left them. Those fake bitches had it coming. I’ll forever be mad at society for not recognizing Rukmini enough for her her kindness, and generosity.
Kashibai was right, the lover will always be more remembered than the wife. (RadheKrisha, BaijraoMastani)
And this is not to say that I do not like Radha or anything like. This is just me expressing my feelings about the worlds treatment about how she and her love is treated they the society. I know that probably they didn’t care about being remembered or anything material like that, that she was just happy being with Krishna. But doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve it, in fact that is more a of a reason she should be remembered

"You never loved me." She wails, her eyes a bleeding red that he can't face. She's kneeling at his feet and he's frozen in the light of the accusation that marks his skin whipped with every word.
She doesn't see it, of course. Her grief and ache blinds her.
He kneels, eyes burning with tears as he holds her as desperately as she sobs. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
His and her pain are both entwined and it's a physical ache in his heart.
"You are the perpetrator of the universe," she says,"Help me. I beg of you. Please."
He holds her tighter still, for she needs to be held together as she breaks apart. "I am here. Here. I won't leave you. I will never leave you. I will always, always be with you."
"Then love me!" She screams, and the kaustubh jewel on his chest leaves an impression on her forehead as she slumps in his arms. "Protect me! Let me be happy. Please, just love me, please, please. Please. Love me."
She's sniffling as he begs her to believe him. Believe in him. "I do. I've loved you for yugs, I've loved you since before you were born, I've loved you before you knew of me and I will love you even if you never love me. You are a part of me. I love you, beyond illusions and beyond doubt."
Her nails are leaving tiny red scraps down his arms but she's trembling still. "You are a God. How can you ever love me?"
"I am your Krishna first." He says and she sobs harder.
It's guilt instead of grief now, but he holds her all the same.

Braj ki Holi
(Epilouge)
"Nandu, invite me to your house next year during Navratri, I want to see your Golu and maybe make one with you. They are so beautiful!" Bhumi said, referring to a photo in Nandita's phone. Nandita was Ranvit's girlfriend.
Now that we were in college except Bhumi, who was still in grade twelve, we had more freedom to go out alone and Ranvit could finally bring his girlfriend with us after introducing her to masi. We had holidays for Durga puja so we decided to head to Gujarat for Navratri. Bhumi had to beg and plead with masi to let her go with us and after a day full of tantrums and sobbing, she was allowed to come with us.
"Done. Do well in your board exams next year and bag a seat in a college. I will invite you to my house and we will make the best Golu ever, okay?" Nandita smiled and kept her phone inside her purse.
We were here for a week. In the first three days, we visited the Somnath and the Dwarkadhish temple. Bhumi and I had teased the young couple about getting married at the Dwarkadhish temple. We then rested an entire day in our hotel after coming back to Ahmedabad and for the next two days, we were roaming in some nearby places. Ranvit had got some passes for a garba event from some of his friends, so we decided to buy some chaniya cholis from a nearby market.
You must be wondering where is Krishna right? Do not worry, I got you.
Subhadra:
Kanha bhaiya told me that you all are in Gujarat???
I received a text from Subhadra as Bhumi made my hair. Ranvit had suggested to meet Krishna and the others in Gujarat, but Krishna had informed me that he and his family were going to his grandparent's place for Navratri, so they wouldn't be able to meet us.
After leaving Vrindavan, Krishna and I were regularly in touch with each other. We would talk about the usual stuff like school and studies and sometimes he would share with me his music compositions. Apart from that, we never talked about that kiss or anything related to it. Later, board exams came up, so we got more busy and barely found time to talk to each other. Nevertheless, Krishna was the only person I would turn to whenever I felt stressed about my exams.
And there were nights, I would see him in my dreams and my internal romantic heroine would emerge that would pine for him. I did wonder if he too felt the same about me?
After waiting for Bhumi to finish her artistry on my hair, I swiped my phone screen and replied back.
Subhadra:
Kanha bhaiya told me that you all are in Gujarat??
Why didn't bhaiya tell me before?
We could have planned something beforehand and met each other once.
:(
Me:
No worries. Next time pakka :(
Subhadra:
Ugh. I can't lie anymore.
LISTEN…
We are here only. No one is out of station.
I sent the above text because Kanha bhaiya told me.
Ranvit is included too.
Shoo and don't ask Ranvit bhaiya anything.
I shut my phone off. Scheme? What scheme? Ranvit too played a part in this but since when? We both were busy with college applications and then our first semester started.
What on earth was going on?
"Girls ready?" I heard Ranvit's voice outside the door. The cab has reached the main gate.
If a scheme was really going on and that too by Krishna, it meant that he was definitely going to meet me. But he could do that by texting me too? Why so much fuss?
Bhumi hooked her arm through mine, patted her skirt and said, "Chalein ab madam?"
"Haan madam chalo." I smiled and opened the door. Nandita rushed out immediately to see Ranvit's reaction on seeing her in chaniya choli.
Ranvit gasped and eyed her up and down. He moved around her in circles, and showered praises upon her. "Nandita, I swear, you can kill me and I will say thank you. You always look so beautiful, but now you look like a goddess." He was gaping at her while Nandini blushed and smiled at him. "Darling, can I kiss you here?"
"Oyi yahan nahi room mein jao dono." Bhumi playfully yelled and hit Ranvit's shoulder. "Besides, weren't you saying that the can has arrived. You don't want to be late to dance with your girlfriend."
Poor Ranvit had eyes only for Nandita who was now in his arms. God, I badly wanted what they had.
Clearing my throat, I said, "Okay, lovebirds, you don't have to trouble our single hearts with your lovey dovey actions. Let's reach the venue first aage ka romance vahan kar lena."
Ranvit grumbled under his breath making Bhumi and me laugh while his lovely girlfriend smiled bashfully and shook her head at Ranvit.
I began walking ahead leaving the couple to come in their own sweet time, but I had no idea when Bhumi had ditched my side and I was walking alone in the corridor. I could hear their voices nearby, so I waited for them.
Ranvit:
Go down to the gate and wait near the cab.Nandini's dupatta has come close so Bhumi is fixing it.
So we were definitely going to be late to the Garba event. I sighed and texted a thumbs up emoji and walked alone to the gate with no awareness of a mind boggling surprise.
Climbing down the stairs carefully while making sure that my skirt wasn't getting under my sandals, I reached the lobby when a familiar curly headed boy stood, his back facing me.
"Krishna…" I called out slowly. This was a dream right?
"The one and only." He turned towards me and my heart skipped a beat. This person looked more beautiful with each passing day. And I was once again drawn to his eyes just like the first time. His eyes shone in delight on seeing me and I realised how much I had missed his gaze on me all the time I had to spend away from him. My eyes drifted towards his lips. These were the same pair of lips that I had kissed on Holi. I could feel goosebumps on my skin and my head felt a little light. This boy made me feel weak with his handsomeness.
I rushed towards him. I no longer cared if my skirt was coming under my sandals or if my dupatta was coming loose or not. This beautiful curly haired boy named Krishna mattered the most.
His arms enveloped my frame. I couldn't help but hug him tightly. I could even cry but refrained my tears from flowing down because no way was I going to let my tears ruin my kajal. I felt his palm rub my back ever so gently. He chuckled and hummed a song.
'Badan pe sitare lapete huye,' Krishna held my finger and twirled me around. 'O jaane tamanna kidhar jaa rahi ho. Zara paas aao,' he held my wrist and pulled me back towards his chest and whispered in my ear, 'Toh chayn aa jaye.'
Mind you dear reader, we were doing this in the hotel lobby. Yes, we were that embarrassing and cute.
"You planned all of this, Krishna?" I asked, as he swayed me side to side under the chandelier.
"Yes, after all my way to your heart must be a beautiful one with lots of music and pining." He made me stand in front of him, his eyes gazed deep into mine. Gently tucking my hair behind my ear, he said, "You look as if the stars themselves have adorned you and the moon herself lent her radiance to you."
I couldn't help but smile at his praise. He surely had a different play with words. "You aren't writing a book now, are you? How did you come up with this?"
Keeping a hand to his chest, he pretended to be hurt. "I thought you would be happy, but you question my words. What is the best way to compliment a beauty if not with the magnificence of the Universe? Alas, I was wounded by the same beauty who resides in my heart."
"Oyi drama queen!" I heard Bhumi's voice behind me. "Thoda attention hume bhi dedo."
Krishna held my hand and moved me to his side. "Aaj nahi. I have only this night with her and we are getting late."
"We?" I asked, glancing at Krishna.
"Oh well, it's a date."
Astonished, I stared at him. "You haven't asked me out yet."
"Shit! I forgot the most important part." He ran his fingers through his beautiful soft curls and went down on one knee.
A charming smile graced his lips. Some of his curls fell just above his eyes, just the way I liked. He outstretched his palm and said, "Bhaishmi, this may sound like a marriage proposal. Don't fret, it's not. But, right from the first day I saw you, you held a special place in my heart and then with each hour spent with you in Vrindavan, I couldn't help but fall for you. And I hope you do not wound my heart again by asking if it's from some book or not because from the second, you left my hand and went back home, I have desperately pined for you.
"Everytime I looked at my flute, I was reminded of your voice. Everytime my eyes met the moon, I couldn't help but think about your face and the adorable expressions you always carry that made me want to hold you and kiss you. Every night until today, I would speak to the night sky, the stars and the moon about you, hoping that in some mysterious way they would carry my message to you or carry a message to me. And, I do think they did because I always felt a soft night breeze caress my face." He paused for a second and I placed my hand over his.
"So, I ask you today. Bhaishmi, will you be my girlfriend?"
As if I was going to say no. But, I must say, I wanted to cry and squeal at his speech.
My eyes were slightly moist at the ends. Blinking the little tears away, I kneeled down and nodded my head. "Krishna.. God, why are you so damn perfect in everything? Yes, I will be your girlfriend."
Without pausing for a second, he hugged me tightly and I stayed in his embrace for a long while or that's what I felt until I heard Ranvit speak.
"Krishna, you are going to be late and you also need to bring my sister back here before 11.30"
"Oyi uncle! Let the couple have their moment," Bhumi said. She then went to mutter something and was too excited to see Krishna and me together to speak anything clearly.
Nandita clapped her hands and said, "Finally, I get to see a proposal like this. Bhaishmi, you are so lucky!"
I smiled and looked at her. Krishna and I got up and did not let our hands move away from each other.
"So madam chalein?" He asked.
"Chaliye."
"Oye Bhaishmi details badme dena room aake samjhi? Hello?"
I could only show Bhumi a thumbs up sign because Krishna was already pulling me outside.
And that's how readers, we got together in the end.
*****
Bonus scene
"When did you rope in Ranvit into your plan?" I asked as my fingers played with his curls.
Krishna's head was on my lap. His eyes glanced towards mine. "Right from the moment you all planned to come here. Ranvit had called me up and informed me that you were coming here, and I knew I had to shoot my shot here before any other boy from your college would steal you away from me. And I also asked Subhadra to text you just to double check you wouldn't have any ideas about my surprise, but she ended up revealing a bit because she loves you more now."
My eyes softened. "You know I would never date any other guy in college. I had fallen for you in Vrindavan. With or without you, my heart would always belong to you, Krishna."
Krishna stayed silent for a while. He slowly got up and held my face in his hand. He leaned in until our lips were barely away from each other. "And my heart has and will always belong to you, Bhaishmi," He murmured and caught my lips with his. His fingers tangled themselves in my hair as our lips danced around each other.
The sea waves crashed on the shore as our kiss slowly turned deeper and desperate. All those nights alone that I had spent thinking about him, I put each and every bit of my feeling in my touch and into the kiss to let him know that I burned the same way as him for all the days that were apart.
One cannot live without oxygen which is a fact and oxygen will never care about the statement of not living without that special person, so ultimately we had to break the kiss.
Krishna pressed his forehead against mine and whispered, "Nights with you are always special, do you know? I love this and I love you."
I didn't even hesitate for a second after listening to him.
"And I love you, Krishna."
********
So it ends here. I am sick but I still wanted to write this so if the epilogue turns a little plain please blame the common cold virus

Mahabharat characaters on Social Media: pt. 1
Yudhisthir
Mostly reblogs "Am I The Asshole?" polls and somehow each with a detailed and insightfully correct answer. Most people just look for his reblog and then vote whatever answer he's deemed right. That's how he earned the nickname "Dharmaraja"
Always explains stuff to the asks he gets and does it very politely so. You could ask him about anything and as long as he knows about it, he'll tell you about it.
Women respector since before 5000BC.
Never annoyed by hate comments on himself. Calls the fuck out of them if they disrespect his brothers.
Bheem
Posts photos of foods he likes.
Always posts about what he's cooking.
Gives gym tips to beginners.
Probably has "never stop bulking 💪" in his bio
Definitely makes it his own duty to teach his mutuals how to cook.
Arjun
Crazy good archery skills. Knows it. Shows them off.
(most people just look at his arm muscles flexing though)
Arjun: Madhav! Look at how famous this post about my archery is getting. I don't understand though. All I did was hit a bull's eye.
Krishna, looking at Arjun in that video being completely shirtless and slicked with sweat, brown skin glowing under the sun: *sweats*
Doesn't understand the thirst comments. ("Madhav what does railing mean and why does this person want me to do it to them?" "Uhm, it means they want you to "train" them haha. It's a slang. Haha." "*Replies to comment* sure I'd love to rail you")
Nakul
Sexy and he knows it.
Thirst traps.
Actually works very hard and always helps people, but he's such a troll that people just think he's a unemployed gymrat pretty boy until he attends some big event and people are like "YOU HAVE A JOB??????"
Loves his fans (I just know he'll heart each and every thirst comment go argue with a wall)
Always tagging his twin in the most random posts (most of them are jumpscares)
Sahdev
Does not want to be here
Always duets the videos nakul sends him and screams at the jumpscares ("I do not like this TRICKERY!" "The ball hit the camera Sahdev it wasn't gonna jump out the phone and hit you in the face" "I am BLOCKING YOU")
The fans love his reactions. He doesn't know, he never checks the comments.
Gives in after some time and creates a no-bullshit self help account to help people manage their life and work more efficiently
Krishn
The definition of Hot Mess™
On every platform he's on, which is every platform that exists, this man is Chaos. One post will be "My wife is so beautiful" and then "I miss Arjun" and then "here's three legal ways to loophole out of a lawsuit" and then a motivation post and then a video of a cute baby cow he saw on the sidewalk.
Pranks the fuck out of everyone and everything (his favourite victim is arjun)
Professional roaster. Has online beef with Shakuni. Insults in the most insufferable way possible you canNOT find a way to insult back it's so annoying cuz then he's like 😇🦚
Cute couple reels with Rukmini

can I ask about what the drama around "palace of illusions" is about and why it's bad?
Hey! Sure thing. Lemme list my problems with the book :-
1) The author presents Karna as some tragic hero compelled to be in the company of Duryodhana who clearly committed multiple murder attempts, went on to sexually harrass his sister-in-law and troubled another woman during the Ghosha yatra. Karna was NOT an outcaste. He was a Suta— meaning one with a Brahmin mother and a Kshatriya father. Adhiratha, Karna's adoptive father, was a wealthy man as he was Bhishma's charioteer. Keep in mind that charioteers used to play important roles in warriors' lives - as advisers, close friends and well-wishers. Krishna was the charioteer of Arjuna. Karna had all the opportunities the Pandavas didnt. He had parents who loved him, while the Pandavas were left halfly orphaned with the death of Pandu and Madri. Veda Vyasa describes Karna as "the trunk of the tree of adharma".
2) The Karna Draupadi ship is bullshit because Karna called the latter a whore during the disrobing sequence as well as presented the idea of "there should be no clothes on servants." Yes, Karna was the one who suggested her public sexual assault. She had blood stains on her garment and was dragged into the court of nefarious men by her hair. People who blame her for the assault inflicted on her are sick and need serious psychological help. You cannot defend attempted rape as one with working braincells.
3) So, shipping a victim with her abuser is not fun y'all. This is not some mentally unstable wattpad dark romance. It's itihāsa. The true history of Bhāratavarsha. Let's draw the line. She was an ekavastraa (meaning a woman in a single cloth, as she was menstruating) during the attempt at disrobing, and the man who called for it shouldn't be hailed. Karna also lied to Parashurama of his caste due to which he got cursed, had an unhealthy obsession with Arjuna and because he wanted to kill him for competition, Drona did not provide him with the knowledge of celestial weapons.
4) It is an ignominy against Lady Draupadi to ship her with anyone apart from her husbands because clearly, the Mahabharata says that she's Indra's wife Shachi while the Pandavas are the cursed five Indras of different kalpas. It is . . . not nice to ship one's wife with another man. It is creepy. Draupadi is one of the panchakanya, one of the five pious women whose names if chanted with sincerity wash off one's sins. She expresses her pride over her husbands multiple times in the text because all of them cherish her to no end. Yudhishthira does not hesitate on the fact that Draupadi is the five brothers' fortune, calls her ‘Kalyani’. Bhima kills Keechaka for her, threatening the revealing of their identities. Arjuna becomes Brihannala and spends most of the time near her during the incognito. In the book, however, the Pandavas do not give a damn about her. Yikes.
5) The book says that Draupadi faced prejudice because of her dark skin. I call bullshit again because Madreya Nakula, Partha Arjuna, Krishnatmika Devi Rukmini according to the Harivamsha, Devi Shri Jambavati (who is said to have a blue lotus like complexion), and lastly Shri Rama and Shri Krishna themselves are dark according to our scriptures. And, none of them faced discrimination because of it. Kanha is in fact called "Bhuvansundar" - the most beautiful one on the earth while Draupadi herself is hailed as one of the most beautiful women canonically.
6) Draupadi was never attracted to Karna. Neither did she pine for him, as the author portrays. Sheesh. Please please, we do whatever with human characters. But with divine ones, you have to be careful with the message you get across. This book is saying that ancient india was casteist and colorist, literally the times when the son of a fisherwoman, Veda Vyasa became a Brahmin and the said fisherwoman went on to become a queen mother of one of the most influential dynasties back then. Krishna was raised a cowherd, though a prince. He went on to become the most erudite diplomats and established Dvaraka, which was en engineering marvel as it was constructed on reclaimed land.
7) According to the author . . . Draupadi felt something more than just friendship for Krishna too. Heavens, I can't do this. Let's normalise a man and a woman being normal friends now, shall we? Krishna is Mahavishnu, he's not supposed to invoke romantic feelings in Draupadi who is Shachi, Indra's wife. Indra and Upendra (Vishnu) are brothers according to a legend. And technically too, since Vāmana was born of Mata Aditi's womb, who Indra's mother and of all the Adityas' too.

Krishna: a character adored for over two thousand years, revered as one of the most significant political masterminds of the ancient world with his words forming the philosophical core of the country today. Concurrently, he is the god shrouded in inimitable domesticity- as a friend, a lover, and a child. No other deity in the Hindu pantheon has probably achieved as dear a position in the hearts of people as this flute-wielding cowherd of Gokula.
For generations, he has shined as the muse of countless poetfolk, of unfinished business, of unspoken desires and of repressed lovers' qualms. In Meera's longing for her marble beloved, and in Kothai's dulcet dreams of a celestial wedding, Krishna blossoms not as a warrior, but rather as a confidante of young women- the keeper of all secrets.
Curse, o ye, this wedding of devotion,
For I was better off unmarried,
Writes the lovestruck Nawab Sadiq Hilm,
I was well enough at my mother's;
Oh, why did I pine for him?!
Who am I, or what: go ask Rizwan, the gatekeeper
For heaven has been rejected by my forebearers!
He says, in a nostalgic ode to the cowmaids from old tales. To the ones that massage the dust off their feet on Krishna's fevered forehead to soothe his illness, even as the apparent disrespect dooms their afterlives.
Jayadeva notes a more rugged form of Krishna, one that is almost hungry for love. His Radha smiles down upon Radharaman Dutta's kalankini. Of course, she would accept even infamy if it was in relation to her Krishna. However, in time, this epithet has been reclaimed as a celebration of the meteoric, tempestuous love that this unseemly duo had carved out for themselves of the pages of a mostly unwilling history.
Tagore's Krishna is mysterious, eagerly anticipated but rarely seen. Rather, here Radha's pining is crushing and all-encompassing, inherited from Chandidas' virahini. Radha's guttural desire to transform Krishna into herself, subjecting him to the same suffering that she undergoes as a woman in love with a furious ideology more than a man, reverberates eerily against the lighthearted cross-dressing tale of Surdas'.
As often as bards favour the songs extolling the love of the cowherd and the wedded maiden, Krishna's wives are seldom accorded any thought outside of Vasudeva's family tree. Their silence speaks to the stringent rules of a typical patriarchal household. Some of them do speak, and hence Satyabhama becomes conceited and Kalindi wayward. However, the mere few lines that they are mercifully allotted in the text are enough to speak to their resilience. The lines inadvertently hold up a window to the million unspoken words and unexchanged glances. It speaks to the long years, happy and sad. It speaks to the nights of waiting for the beloved to return. It speaks to the quiet lunches in curtained rooms and taste tests in the kitchen.
Each of Krishna's eight wives has their own life, and their own equation with Krishna. Each of their distinct personalities, coupled with their unique introductions to the prince has the potential to bring a distinct flavour to the story of Krishna, the statesman. The understanding that Krishna's heart belonged first to Vrindavana and then to his ambition, must have weighed somewhat on their hearts and yet, the choice to patch up the battle-hardened cowherd, after every blow, sans complaint, and send him out into the world as the architect of history, must have demanded restraint.
The distinct turn of events that brings each of the chief eight queens to Krishna's is quite interesting. Rukmini, the first, demonstrates heart, even if it is born out of desperation. Seizing control of her life, she sends a message, relying solely on rumours of his compassion. Her gamble yields returns manifold as Krishna not only rescues her from an unwanted marriage, but instates her as his chief consort, elevating her, alongside himself, to a divine status. Far from the impulsiveness of her youth, Pandhari's Rakhumai, astute beside her beloved, proudly bears a conch-shell, calling for harmony and community. In life as well, Rukmini brings to Krishna much needed stability, and oversees the blossoming of the city of Dwarika as well as Krishna's growing household.
Jambavati and Satyabhama are given in marriage to the prince by their respective fathers and do not seem to have much of a voice at the time. Jambavati fulfills an ancient destiny, a forgotten promise, then going on to mother the child that ultimately brings about the demise of the Yadava clan. Satyabhama, though often maligned with unfair accusations, is self-reliant. Making no attempt to hide herself from the eye of society, takes her rightful place beside Krishna, not on a throne, but by his side in battlefields. Kalindi however, is an extremely interesting character in Krishna's story. Enmeshed between mortal and divine, she exists as neither. Chancing upon the prince, she unabashedly declares her intentions to be married, and yet she is uncharacteristically silent after her marriage. Lakshmana and Mitravinda, are both won in conquest. They might have been able to sympathize with Rukmini, given their kin had turned against them, on account of their choice of a life partner. Bhadra, on the other hand, has no fancy contests to boast of, or an adventurous rescue. She marries Krishna at the behest of her brother, the only highlight being the arduous journey she undertakes from Kekaya to Dwarika.
After their marriages, these women practically disappear from the narrative until their last moments. We can assume that they were all presumably content with a life outside the spotlight. One can only hope to be privy to their lives after marriage, to know their dreams, nightmares and daily chores. They enter Krishna's life at crucial junctions, and I choose to believe they each had a unique effect on Krishna's worldview, bringing with them a fresh outlook into the mostly stagnant golden city.

Re-watching Mahabharat (6/?)
Not Karna being scandalized by Dury's adharmi talks
Yudhishthira's room is so pretty, but where is the bed? Where will he sleep? On the sofa?
Dhritarashtra is continuing the Kuruvanshi pratha of uncles manipulating their nephews
Sahadeva's sahadeva sense is working up again~~~~~
Sahadeva's wig is so fckin UGLY. Like my boy deserves better.
How to manipulate Yudi: just say "tum to dharm ke gyaata ho" and move on
I think Yudi knows that he is being manipulated.
"Jis ke putra jeevan kaal me hi mar jate hain uske jeevan me bhi nark aur mrityu ke pashchat bhi nark." YES. And Yudhishthira will be experiencing that feeling in some 20-30 years.
Oh God. Dhritarashtra is that one uncle who convinces you to name your share of property in his sons' name, because you are well settled and don't need it anymore.
Not Arjun and Sahadeva sneaking up on these two XD
Arjun pulling UNO reverse on Dhritarashtra heheheeeeee
I see. Arjun is doing Krishna's job before Krishna enters the picture. Then he will be a dumbass innocent lil sweetie for the rest of his life
Subhadra is such a dumb cutie
FINALLY. A room with a bed. I can die in peace now.
If only the makers had paid some attention to this couple T_T
Arjun has begun his dumb ways. This is the Arjun we know and love.
Arjun is an expert in household chores. EXCELLENT.
Arjun is a simpleton, hence proved. See what you have done. Poor Subhadra is in tears because of you.
Subhadra, you sneaky lil brat. I pity Balarama so much. He has to deal with two drama queen siblings daily.
Le Subhadra: a trip with Arjun? YAYYYYYYYYY PAWWRTYYYY
Ngl, this is one of my fav episodes in this show. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Krishna enters in this one.
No Kunti, there is no dharm in Dury's heart.
So....Kalyavan is a white male, going with the description?......
Arjun is having a laugh at Subhadra's expense, XD
oh GAWD. I am not prepared for this.
I can't believe that I will be simping over both Arjun and Krishna at the same time.
Arjun's earrings are so low quality. I swear I have seen so many like those for 50 Rs in Sarojini.
Arjun: tum swasth ho? Sweetie, I don't think she is fit or fine ATM.
Krishna has done a PhD in separating the water by putting his foot in it.
WHAT A GLORIOUS ENTRANCE. I am at a loss of words.
Not Krishna posing like a cool guy (as if he isn't jumping inside at the thought of meeting his mortal bestie for the first time.)
Arjun being awed by Krishna is their entire friendship summarized.
I didn't know that I needed to see Arjun with wet hair this badly.
That scene where baby Krishna collides with adult Krishna >>>>
Srsly, I feel so bad for him. Cons of being a God.
Honestly, Krishna's life has so many lessons to learn from. He knew how his loved ones would die, he had to abandon the people he loved, and yet he remained happy and loving through out all of this. He is seriously such a sweet and lovely God.
"Jagat me sabse sundar, Kaun Madhav?" "Mai Parth, aur kaun?" HAYYEEEEEEEEE
Arjun, that is THEEEE Rukmini's love letter you are laughing at :<<
Krishna broke the 4th wall, didn't he?
"Aur mai Madhav?" YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO BOI
Yo Brihannala is such a cute shawty-
It seems as if Mahodaya has some questions about Brihannala's identity.
Krishna: I warned you don't blame me !!!!
Krishna sneakily taking aashirwaad from Rukmi for the first and last time in his life hehehe
How come Rukmi has no questions about KRISHNA touching the prasad? Only the bride and groom can touch it, no?
Damn Rukmi. You are such a fool.
Rukmini is so pretty *Sobs*
Arjun is going through severe existential crisis haha
YAASSSS KRISHNA SHAVE RUKMI'S HEAD-
what a joyride.

"They are definitely upto something, Kanha." Balram quietly peeped through the curtain as the moonlight shone in
Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavanti looked like they were discussing something very serious as they gestured to the guards who bowed after listening to them and quickly ran off. The other ashthabharya slowly tiptoed out of their rooms to join them.
"Why are you always so scared, dau? Relax. It's Purnima, they must be preparing something special for me hehe." Krishna rubbed his hands together in excitement
"You ask me why I'm scared? THIS. This is the EXACT reason I'm scared, Kanha. You've still not grown up and in the process if anything goes wrong, you just push me in the middle of it! YOU'VE DONE THIS WITH ME SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME. AREY? EVEN REVATI JI-"
"adores me more than you? Not my fault if I'm so cute :( You're the actual one who's scary ooo bOo." Krishna ran off
"WHAT? YOU COME RIGHT HERE YOU-" Balram vanished to find him in the palace as Krishna made his way to his son's chamber
"hey~ psspssss-" Krishna whispered from behind the door as if calling a cat
"P- pitashri?" Pradyumnn almost jumped from his bed
"ahha, so my raja beta is still awake!" Krishna giggled and stepped inside, crushing his son in a hug and pulling his cheeks
"OWW, PITASHRI!!!!!! WHAT are you doing here in the dead of night?! Also, I'm an adult. Even my mothers don't do that now!" Pradyumnn shrieked
"yes yes, I know you love me the mostt ahaHAehehehe. Also, point to be noted ki you will always be my baby so shut up ):< Btw, now that we're talking about it let me come straight to the point onlyy. What are your mothers cooking up?"
"Umm.. I don't know, ask the baawarchi? YOU woke me for this, pitash-?"
"AREY, NO. And QUIET. SHH." Krishna lowered his head "Cooking as in what are they doing? Something fishy is happening, I can tell that."
Suddenly it dawned on Pradyumnn, he's supposed to keep quiet or his mothers will kill him. Each one. Each time over. A woman's wrath causes war and he knew that too well.
"HUH? I DON'T KNOW what they are DOING. But one thing I know is that they are very, veryyy mad at you, pitashri."
Krishna gulped "What?"
Pradyumnn nodded and whispered "First, they will take down Balram taushri so you will have nobody left to defend you. Then they will take down...... YOU."
Krishna shrieked and jumped, landing into a random martial art pose "oh no no no this is bad. I have to find her." he started walking away fast
"Who? Radha ji? Oh, she's already gone."

It's the moment that the sun looks like fire. Keshav has never felt as much at peace as he does now, watching over his wife's city as they prepare for the men of his House to leave. They don't know that they'll leave forever.
Beside him, with her raven hair flowing in the salty air, is Dwarkeshwari. Her eyes are closed and her face is pulled taut because even she knows she must say goodbye to her husband.
"Must you always leave me first, husband?" She asks and the words borrow themselves between the two of them, their tone as golden hued as she is. "What is this stubbornness of yours?"
He smiles, traces the shree at his wristband and tilts his head. Rukmini doesn't believe the act at all, she's seen it more times than time itself has existed, but it melts her heart all the same. He's taller than her, always is, so he leans downward as he shares his secret with a mischievous smile.
"You told me you wouldn't step in a place that did not have me, my wife. I leave before you so I can prepare the land to be pious enough for your precious."
She scoffs even as a blush colours her cheeks. Trust him to remember the things she said two mahayugs ago. "Then don't leave me behind. Don't abandon me." Her voice cracks and the winter that seeps into her bones every time he leaves chills her further. Her fingers, already numb with cold, hold his forearm as if her touch could stop the inevitable.
"How could I abandon you, my love?" He presses his forehead against hers and her sindur copies itself over his tilak and they're one again. "You live within myself. How would I breathe without your presence?"
And she knows it's true. She knows it as she knows how he feels at all times, as she feels his warmth in her heart and the back of her throat, as she feels the callouses on her fingers, as she knows instinctively how to play a flute and how to summon the sudarshan chakra.
She closes her eyes, doesn't say anything, but he knows. He knows as he feels her anklets around his feet, as he knows how to draw, as he finds lotuses embroidered on his clothes.
"You will leave me in agony," she says, defeated already in front of him. "You will leave me in pain to hear them screaming for the two of us, for help."
He takes a deep breath as he already feels the water in his lungs."Then you will come to me. Come to me and reset my ribs in a way that they only hold your name beside my heart. Then you will tell them that mercy means lack thereof, too."
"My heart." She sighs between them, as the sun begins to lower in respect of the last night of the Jagatpita on Earth.
He kisses her brow, her fingers closed around his peacock feather rings tight enough that it'll leave an impression. Maybe that's exactly what she wants. "My melody."
And that's how they speak, with silent promises of future quarrels and heartaches, with the promises of embraces and healing.

Always there for U ❤️
It was night time, Rukmini was laying on the bed, waiting for Krishna to come.. Her one hand was on her baby bump. After few minutes of waiting.. Krishna came in with a cute smile adoring his face. He removed his crown and His Jwellery, and Layed beside her, He kept his one hand on Rukmini's Baby bump and caressed it..
Krishna : Are u not sleeping my love?
Rukmini sighed..
Rukmini : i am not getting sleep!
Krishna raise his eyebrow..
Krishna : Why?
Rukmini : because, your baby doesn't want me to go to sleep!! Whenever i lay down and close my eyes, and get comfortable He just gives me a kick!!

Why ???
Ch-1 You Must Go
The setting of the story -
Pandavas lost their Kingdom in the Game of Dice, Draupadi was humiliated and they were asked to go for Exile for 12 years and 1 year in Incognito.
When the battlefield echoed with the clash between Shri Krishna and King Shalva, a poignant scene unfolded. In the midst of chaos, Rukmini's silent prayers filled the air, her unwavering faith weaving a symphony of hope amidst the looming shadows of misfortune.
Krishna and Rukmini sat together in the serene chambers of Dwarka's royal palace; the soft glow of the oil lamps bathed the room in a warm, golden light. The gentle flicker of the flames cast dancing shadows upon the walls, painting intricate patterns that seemed to sway and undulate with the rhythm of their conversation.
Rukmini gently tended to the minor wounds that Krishna had sustained during the battle against King Shalva. While she was doing her work, Krishna couldn't resist a playful quip, "You know, my dear, I'm not actually feeling any pain. I could easily use my divine powers to heal myself."
Rukmini chuckled softly, "Oh, Krishna," she said with a fond shake of her head, "always ready to remind me of your Godliness. But for just this moment, let us set aside our original roles and normally behave as human beings, sharing in each other's pains and cares. It feels nice sometimes."
Krishna's playful demeanor softened as he looked into Rukmini's eyes, his gaze filled with love and appreciation. "You're right, my beloved," he replied, his voice tender with affection. "In your hands, even the simplest act becomes sacred. Thanks for reminding me of the beauty of our shared humanity."
With a warm smile, Rukmini leaned in to place a gentle kiss on Krishna's cheek, a silent expression of their deep connection and shared love. Her touch was tender, her hands moving with practiced care as she cleaned and dressed the injuries.
As she worked, Rukmini's gaze fell upon Krishna's right hand, where a faded scar marred the smooth skin of his palm. Her breath caught in her throat as she traced the outline of the scar with her fingertips, a flood of memories washing over her.
With a soft sigh, Rukmini looked up at Krishna, her eyes filled with understanding and love. She knew that this scar was a reminder of a different incident, one where Draupadi had torn a piece of her cloth to bind Krishna's wound when he had injured his hand.
"Hrishikesh," Rukmini began softly, her voice filled with reverence, "this scar... it reminds me of the day Panchali bound your wound with a piece of her cloth, and you vowed to retain the debt to her."
Krishna met his wife's gaze with a gentle smile, his eyes reflecting the depth of his gratitude and admiration for Draupadi. "Indeed, Vaidarbhi," he replied, his voice tinged with reverence, "My Krishnaa holds a special place in my heart, and I will always be there to protect her, no matter the distance."
As Rukmini diligently tended to Krishna's wounds, her mind weighed heavy with unspoken thoughts and worries. Despite her efforts to maintain a calm demeanor, Krishna could sense her hesitance and sadness lingering beneath the surface.
Just as she reached for another jar of medicine, Krishna tenderly grasped her hand, his touch gentle yet firm. "Rukmini," he said softly, his eyes filled with warmth and concern, "I can sense that something troubles you. Please, share your burden with me. You know, you don't have to carry it alone."
Rukmini's heart swelled with emotion at Krishna's compassionate gesture, and she found herself unable to resist the urge to confide in him. With a heavy sigh, she met his gaze, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "Krishna," she began, her voice trembling slightly, "You are Omniscient, why do you ask me what troubles me when you already know?"
A gentle smile tugged at the corners of Krishna's lips as he reached out to wipe away a tear from Rukmini's cheek. "My dear," he replied tenderly, "your words speak volumes of your love and concern for me. Though I may possess Omniscience, your voice is the balm that soothes my soul, the anchor that grounds me in the realm of Humanity."
Rukmini smiled with tears as Krishna hugged her. The weight of the Pandavas' plight hung heavy in the air. Rukmini's heart ached for Draupadi, her friend and sister-in-law, who had suffered such indignity. With the wisdom of the divine coursing through him, Krishna listened intently to Rukmini's concerns.
"O Madhav," she began as she breaks from the embrace, her voice laced with sadness and anger, "my heart aches for the plight of the Pandavas. The deceitful acts of the Kauravas have brought nothing but suffering and injustice upon them."
Her eyes flashed with righteous anger as she continued, "To see our dear friends, who are noble and virtuous, subjected to such cruelty fills me with rage. It is unjust, it is unfair, and it is utterly heartbreaking."
"And Draupadi... What was her fault Keshav ?? Why she ??," Rukmini's voice laced with concern. "She is your most Beloved Friend and she is very much dear to me as well. So, please, take extra care of her. She is broken-hearted, and I fear she will not heed anyone's words except yours."
Krishna listened attentively, his own heart heavy with empathy for his Pandav Cousins and his Sakhi, Draupadi. He reached out to gently caress Rukmini's hand, offering her a silent gesture of comfort and support.
"Vaidarbhi," Krishna said softly, his voice filled with compassion, "I share in your sorrow and your anger. The actions of the Kauravas have indeed brought great suffering upon the Pandavas, and it pains me to see them endure such hardships."
He looked into Rukmini's eyes with unwavering resolve. "Don't worry, my love," he reassured her, "I will do everything in my power to ease the burdens of our dear Pandavas. I will go to their aid. Their trials have not gone unnoticed, and their cries for justice shall not be in vain."
"As for my Krishnaa, I will be her pillar of strength, Dearest," he assured her, his voice gentle yet resolute. "Her pain is no alien to me. She will find solace and strength in my presence, and together, we will navigate these troubled waters."
Rukmini's eyes softened with gratitude as she clasped Krishna's hand in hers. "Thank you, Madhusudan, you are the embodiment of compassion and strength," she whispered, her voice filled with love and appreciation. "With you by their side, I have no doubt that the Pandavas and Draupadi will find solace and hope."
Krishna pressed a kiss to Rukmini's forehead, his love for her shining brightly in his eyes. "You and I, both of us will guide our dear friends through the darkness and into the light, I promise," he vowed, his voice steady and sure.
With his assurance, Rukmini felt a glimmer of hope stirring within her heart. Though the road ahead was fraught with challenges, she found comfort in the knowledge that Krishna would be by their side, guiding them through the darkest of times.
Next Day, Krishna departed from Dwarka, his mind already weaving plans to comfort and support the Pandavas in their time of need. As Dwarkadhish and the Supreme Advisor and Guide to the Pandavas, he knew that his presence would bring solace and hope to their troubled souls.
≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
As Krishna prepared to depart from Dwarka, Rukmini stood at the palace balcony, her heart heavy with foreboding. She watched as her beloved husband mounted his chariot, his divine presence radiant even from a distance. A sense of impending devastation lingered in the air... Despite her knowledge of her own divine nature as an avatar of the Supreme Goddess, Rukmini couldn't shake the overwhelming sense of concern that enveloped her.
It wasn't any fear for Krishna that troubled her, for she knew his true essence as the Almighty, free from the bonds of mortal attachments. Instead, but it was the emotional toll of the impending trials that weighed heavily on her heart. Even though Krishna transcended earthly emotions, Rukmini couldn't help but worry about the toll that witnessing the suffering of their friends would take on him.
Just then, Satyabhama, Rukmini's co-wife but dear sister and confidante, approached her with a concerned expression etched upon her features. Sensing Rukmini's distress, she reached out a comforting hand.
"Didi, what weighs so heavily on your mind?" Satyabhama inquired softly, her eyes filled with worry. "I can sense a deep sorrow within you, as if the winds of fate whisper of impending doom. Are u alright??"
Rukmini turned to Satyabhama, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "I am fine Bhama, just wondering that the ways of destiny are indeed strange," she began, her voice tinged with sadness. "Despite our best efforts, people still make choices that lead to destruction, blinded by their own desires and ego."
Satyabhama nodded in understanding, her expression grave. "Indeed, Didi, Karma is a relentless force," she murmured, her voice tinged with bitterness. "Those who sow seeds of injustice shall reap the whirlwind of their actions. Time is a merciless arbiter, and none can escape its judgment."
Rukmini took a moment to absorb Satyabhama's words, her heart heavy with the weight of truth. "We can only hope and pray that righteousness prevails in the end," she said, her voice filled with determination. "May Vaasudev guide us through these turbulent times, and may justice be served to those who deserve it."
"Don't worry, Didi," Satyabhama said, her voice filled with unwavering confidence. "Our Vaasudev, the protector of all, will weave his divine canvas of protection. He won't allow the shadows of despair to darken our path or cast their pall over those we hold dear." With a reassuring smile, she placed a gentle hand on Rukmini's trembling shoulder, her gaze alight with steadfast belief in the omnipotent love of their husband. "His divine embrace, painted with strokes of love and compassion, will shield us from harm and guide us through the darkest of nights."
"My dear Bhama," Rukmini began, her voice tinged with concern, "while I have faith in Krishna's divine protection, I cannot shake the worry that gnaws at my heart. I am troubled by the emotional toll these trials may take on him. Despite his divine nature, witnessing the suffering of our dear friends will surely affect him deeply." She sighed softly, "I pray that amidst the challenges ahead, Madhav finds the strength and solace he needs to endure," she added, her voice filled with a mixture of hope and apprehension.
Satyabhama listened attentively to Rukmini's words, her expression thoughtful as she considered her sister's concerns. Placing a reassuring hand on Rukmini's arm, she spoke with quiet conviction. "Let us place our trust in Vaasudev's infinite wisdom and love," Satyabhama continued, her voice filled with conviction. "For in his divine hands, even the greatest trials can be transformed into opportunities for growth and redemption."
Rukmini nodded to Satyabhama's words, faintly smiling. With a shared understanding of the harsh realities of life, Rukmini and Satyabhama watched as Krishna's chariot disappeared into the horizon.
But the Dwarkeshwari felt a pang of sorrow deep within. Her heart clenched with a sense of helplessness. Though she understood the nature of Krishna's divine mission, her love for him compelled her to worry about his emotional well-being; and also about the specter of impending doom loomed large in her mind, casting a shadow over her optimism. She could only hope that her Krishna, in his infinite wisdom, would find solace and strength amidst the darkness, even as she prayed fervently that Krishna would return unscathed from the trials that lay ahead....

The next chapter is very close to my heart. It will be updated soon. This is one of my favourite moments in Mahabharat. I know this chapter is long but Please enjoy 😁

Krishna
These lines written by Manu Vaishali (a Poetess) are so POWERFUL!
"Sadhikaar prem se likhegi patra Rukmini to jaanti hai rukmini ki Krishna swayam aayege.
Aayege jo Krishna Saath Parth ke to Parth ko hai gyaat ki sath Krishna ke ve yuddh jeet jaayege.
Jayenge yadi Krishna krodh me bhari sabha se to sabha ko hai pata ki ab Dev kya bachayege,
Bachayenge! Ye jaanti hai Draupadi pukaarti hai ki koi aaye ya na aaye, parantu Krishna aayenge..!"
(translation: If Rukmini writes letter with pure Love and Authority (Saadhikar), she knows that Krishna himself will come.
Parth knows that if Krishna will come with Krishna they WILL win the whole War.
When Krishna walks out of the Sabha (Court) in anger, even the Courtiers know that Gods won't be able to Save them.
They will, knows Draupadi, and this calls him again and again knowing that even if none comes to her aide, Krishna will.)
Damn, Manu Vaishali is my FAV ✨

yk what i desperately want?
i desperately want to be in love woth krishna so much that just even thinking about him for a second makes my heart cry in pain of not being able to be with him every minute of my day and tears start falling from my eyes.
i want to be so much in love with him that my body starts shaking, i start sweating and feel like dying from not being able to see him in front of my eyes.
i want to love him so much that when i actually do see him my breath gets stuck in my throat, my body's temperature starts rising and nothing, NOTHING other than the thoughts of running to him and lying in his lotus feet, grabbing them and just crying are left in my mind.
i want to fight the whole world for him. it doesn't matter who is in front of me and how much do i have to fight but for him i want to fight with anyone who dares to speak bad about him and tear their limbs apart one by one until they beg and apologize to Krishna for their crude words. i am ready to fight every single person existing in this world and fight them until there not even a single bit of life left in me for Krishna.
i am ready to give up on everything, everyone. just one chance to be able to love Krishna like how Rukmini, Radha and Mira bai loved him. i want to actually experience that kind of love for krishna which makes me so high and euphoric that i faint every time i am not able to see krishna's face in front of me and faint every time i do see Krishna's face because he's so lovely and i love him so much that this human body of mine cannot handle the splendor of him and my love for him mixed together.
i beg Krishna, i beg My lord. please allow me to love u so much that my whole being and beyond is just filled with the thoughts of u. i wake up from u, for u and to u, i sleep from u, for u and to u, i breathe from u, for u and to u, i eat from u, for u and to u, i love from u, for u and to u, i exist from u, for u anf to u and finally i die from u, for u and to u.
