working on some fics and I rewatch some ep of dragons rising for the timeline and the more I look into it, the more it doesn't make sense.

Like I know someone already talked about this but first of all Lloyd is not a reliable narrator.

Cause when we met him in dr, he specifically said that after weeks of not seeing anyone he found kai.

Now it not entirely impossible for Kai to find the monastery after a few weeks.

But we now know that Kai spent the whole time before he came back to the monastery in the land of monsters. Now you are telling me that monstrosity happened in a span of a few weeks?

I mean it can't be months cause Lloyd refers to it as weeks (which means like either 3 weeks or around 1 month and a half for it to be not long enough to be called months but not short enough for him to not be affected by it.)

Unless Lloyd did wake up way later (like pixal and Zane except no pods) and it was weeks for him but for idk somebody like Kai, it's been at least a few months. Or he's just really bad at counting the days or something.

Now, Arin said that it's been years since the merge happened in the start of the show. So what? did Lloyd just spend the whole time closing mergequakes for years? How did no one notice these things since they are practically earthquakes in the sky!?

Also even if he did, how did he handle all the mergequakes by himself because even him and Kai wasn't enough and that was when the mergequakes were new and smaller. The mergequakes happening more often and bigger is literally the reason why Kai went searching for the others in the first place.

I think it makes sense that Kai spent years exploring the new lands cause expeditions does takes years sometimes. Especially when you're alone and you are filling in maps of a brand new uncharted world. So by that logic Kai at least spent a few months (maybe close to a year) at the monastery with Lloyd before going back out to go exploring. Sometimes he would return to deliver the maps he had made and resupply. Also to check in on Lloyd. Now I'm sure they keep in contact using the bounty but I do wonder how long did they really didn't see eachother before the start of the show

It just that the timeline is just so confusing. It not that much of a nuisance when you're just watching it. It just annoying when you're trying to write this down so that your fic actually make sense and follows some part of the cannon correctly.

By this point I can't tell if I did miss something or I'm just plain stupid at remembering the details. If anyone can clear this out for in case I did made a mistake and the timeline isn't as wacky as I thought it was. That would be great =⁠_⁠=.

Anyway for anyone who does found me from ao3. The next fic is coming out in June when monstrosity comes out.

Part of me thought it would be funny if I did that since it's more Kai related. And the other half is because I have exams and need focus on studying.

After a long, arduous journey, GingerBrave and his friends have finally reached their destination in search for White Lily—Beast-Yeast, specifically the Faerie Kingdom. Pure Vanilla can finally meet his friend after ages, even though it's just through a glass casket.. And Pure Vanilla is determined to do whatever it takes to wake White Lily once again.

"What must we do to wake White Lily?"

"White Lily's body is but a shell. An empty dough."

"To revive it, two things are required..."

"...None other than Soul and Life."

"The shards of the Light of Freedom that you have gathered hols White Lily's soul, and..."

"...And?"

"...We need a powerful life source. As much of it as a living Cookie holds..."

"But that means..!"

"A living Cookie must sacrifice their own Life Powder...?"

"....."

"Yes, a life for a life. A fair exchange."

"... Magic so sinister, and yet so just."

"But know this..."

"No matter how much life force we use in the revival of White Lily..."

...You were standing a few meters away from the group, you didn't mean to eavesdrop but you managed to listen to everything... From the fact that Silverbell lead a group of outsiders into the kingdom to the conversation your husband is currently having with those outsiders—you heard everything, and you don't really like the idea of Elder Faerie sacrificing half of his Life Powder. You know how your beloved husband can be—he's selfless and kind, he's willing to do anything he can for the sake of Cookiekind without caring about himself.

Soon, Elder Faerie suggested that his Life Powder shall be used to revive White Lily and Silverbell was called to perform the Witch's Ritual, but before he can start the ritual...you step up to intervene.

"No. Use my Life Powder instead."

"B-but, Your Majesty! You'll be weakened if we use your Life Powder!"

"It's okay, I'll be fine. Now, begin the ritual using my Life Powder instead."

"...But-"

"Queen's orders."

"...Ofcourse, My Queen."

Multiple Cookies—Including Silverbell and Elder Faerie—wanted to object the sudden intervention, but they all had no choice but to stay silent especially since you were so insistent on sacrificing your Life Powder.

You stood beside the lifeless body of White Lily and Silverbell soon began the ritual. Slowly, half of your Life Powder began to drain away from your body and instead transfered to White Lily. Seconds after the ritual was done, White Lily's eyes began to flutter open as she say up from the grassy ground beneath her.

Pure Vanilla, GingerBrave, Strawberry and Wizard rushed to see White Lily, they were all glad that she didn't turn into Dark Enchantress. Though, they all seemed to have forgotten someone...

"Cough, cough..!"

You coughed as your legs weaken and made you collapse onto one knee, your body weakening way much more than you anticipated. And soon enough...your eyes slowly closed as you body collapsed to the ground with a thud.

"YOUR MAJESTY-!!"

All the Cookies shouted, they were all worried for you. Especially after just passing out.. Pure Vanilla was about to stand up and try to heal you, but Elder Faerie stepped up first and picked you up in a princess-carry style.

"I shall escort them myself. Silverbell, aid White Lily and the others. And...tell the other knights and servants not to enter my chambers, I'd like to have a moment with my wife."

"Ofcourse, Your Majesty!"

Elder Faerie then walked back into the castle, carrying you back into your shared chambers. He layed you down on your shared bed, he made sure to lock the door so noone can get in or knock on the door.

Elder Faerie then layed beside you on the bed, his arms wrapped around you as he snuggled close to you—cuddling with you while you rest.

A few hours later...

Your eyes slowly fluttered open, your body felt less weak now. Sure, you're still a bit weak, but not as weak as earlier.. You were about to sit up, but your husband tightened his grip around your waist slightly to stop you from getting up—giving you the realization that he has been hugging and cuddling with you while you passed out.

"Mm...My darling, rest... I shall stay with you until you got better."

"Hm...ofcourse, my dear.."

You would smile softly, wrapping your arms around Elder Faerie and hugged him back. You can feel his body gently pressing against yours, you then kissed his forehead.

"Hm...you're rather affectionate today, my dear.."

"Hehe...what can I say, darling.. I haven't gotten the chance to be affectionate with you in quiet a long while."

At your giggle, Elder Faerie let out a soft chuckle. He moved his hand up to cup your cheek, his looked at you with his eyes half-lidded as he was about to lean in and kiss you. But suddenly...a loud bang can be heard out side the castle, followed by screams of other Cookie and a loud commotion.

"! What was that..?"

so I just got done rewatching all of TADC because of the new ep that comes out in three days And just gotta confirm once again: Episode 4 by far is my favorite. I work in customer service, I go to college hoping for a degree in comic art - and I crash out severely during every shift same as most of the cast did.

But there is one flaw I noticed in the scrip that I wanted to point out. Not because I'm trying to be a hater, or because I think everyone needs to know this and think this ep is bad, no. I wanted to point it out because I consistently make the same mistake in my script writing. To be specific its when Gangle goes to confront Ragatha bout "huffing paint" The dialogue up to this point is perfect and goes great until this interaction Ragatha says something like: "Why are you even in charge? I feel like I'm way more responsible than you." Gangle replies with "Well if you under perform now, you might end up hurt later" And then Ragatha quotes the ragedy anne movie.

You see the problem with this interaciton?

To me, it sounds like Gooseworx thought of this interaction - at least where Gangle mentions hurt and then gooseworx- ragedy anne the musical being their favorite movie is like "omg I know what I can do here" and then realized this doesn't sound great out of context so they needed context for the conversation to take place.

This, again, isn't what makes this ep or the show bad. Its literally my favorite episode and after this moment the dialogue is fine again. I'm just pointing it out because this is somethign I do literally all of the time in my own works, esp my fan fics on ao3. I think of this really dramatic confrontation then I realize I need a scene leading up to it and work around it.

Which most of the time is fine, especially when you can get away with making it sound natural.

This is just one of the rare cases I found it fell a little flat.

THat being said, ending on a positive:

I thought Gangle's monologue about how time doesn't move inside this world/job, "how long has this shift really gone on for?" makes her all the more relatable to me.

and I genuinely believe everyone at least at one point in their lives should work in a customer service job.

I feel like if everyone did: we'd all be alittle nicer/more patient with each other.

Your post about Babe makes me think this is a safe space to vent briefly! I love this show dearly, it's hands down my fave show of last year, I foresee much rewatching in the future, and though it's clearly imperfect, up until now those imperfections haven't interfered with my enjoyment. But - and maybe it's because there's only one ep left so the prospect of certain things/conversations happening is looking increasingly unlikely, or maybe it's because for the first time I felt the screentime/writing apportioned to each couple this ep felt noticeably unbalanced - post ep-11, I'm feeling a little wistful/frustrated at opportunities missed. Babe is a super obvious one - it feels like Style's dad has had more screentime than him, and even though Style's dad is awesome, in terms of importance to plot/character motivation, Babe clearly comes out on top, and yet as you mentioned, the writing hasn't really reflected that. But I think Kant and Kant/Bison in general have sporadically been curiously underwritten - in their post-truth scenes, imo, they've never really been given the space to explore their feelings to the same depth that Fadel has. And I think I just sort of ignored it before cos all the other stuff (not just the kissing!) was so delicious, but then in this ep, the contrast tween the burger joint scene and the tattoo scene (which seemed almost truncated) just felt so stark that it thwacked me over the head. The obvious exception is the beach scene (and maybe the swing scene?), the meat of which we now know was improvised. Which makes me wonder if it's partly because they think they can get away with it or don't feel they need to write as much detail cos FK are there to do the heavy lifting for them? And yes, FK can speak volumes with eye contact alone cos they really are That Good, but some stuff DOES actually have to be verbalised!!! And I'm not necessarily saying their scenes needed a lot more dialogue, but maybe just to be given a little more time to breathe? I remember thinking that about the opening of ep 9 with the memory box - yes, the deflection and flirting is probably in-character to a degree and most definitely the latter is a lot of fun to watch, but even just giving them a moment longer to reflect on their pain/loss before they diverted to daddy kink would've made a big difference imo.

Again, I can't necessarily point at anything in particular and say that's what should've been cut out to make room for xyz, so maybe it really is just a matter of not quite having enough eps to fully cover all the material they were working with (think that's definitely the case with Keen and Lilly, but they are fundamentally side characters, and it's side characters who always get shafted! Whereas Kant/Bison...). And yes, again, that's what fic's for, I know that. But still...the what ifs are always the worst! What if we got actual onscreen acknowledgement from another character that Kant, too, has been a victim of grooming/coercion/exploitation/whatever you want to call it, and also deserves to engineer a reckoning for the person responsible (and I'm not counting the blackmail scene cos he's still not in a position of power there given the stakes)? What if we got Bison bringing up their first encounter (since there's absolutely no reason for him to think it wasn't part of the scam) and Kant getting the chance to reassure him that night was 100% real? What if we got recognition from Fadel that Kant is basically just another tired older brother doing what it takes to protect his nong? What if we got actual follow-through on the Captain's threats after Kant returned from their torture island getaway? Imagine the parallel we could have had tween him coming home in ep 7 to find Babe with Bison vs. him coming home in ep 10 to find Babe with the Captain! What if we got just one scene where Kant finally gets to be the one who breaks down and is comforted? What if we got anything explicitly BDSM-related (okay maybe still holding out hope for this one!)? Now I'm more than happy to eat my hat if any of that comes to pass in the finale, and don't get me wrong, I'm still very much enamoured with the show and with these characters and am delighted at the prospect of prison hijinks cos I thought we'd be getting a time skip! And tbh the main reason I want to vent is just to get it out of my system so I can return to my previous state of blissful indifference to the niggles and the quibbles! ...Which is really unfair on you, I am realising at this late stage in the game! So apologies for the (tempered, not full-blown!) negativity and if you'd rather steer clear feel free to delete and ignore! I do think part of it is just the risk you run watching a show week to week when there's SO MUCH TIME to speculate and analyse and headcanon - you're virtually always going to be disappointed in one aspect or another, whereas when you binge-watch there's just no time for expectations to even be formed let alone undershot! But then of course you lose out on the sheer bananas entertainment and mass hysteria that is the collective experience of watching something real-time, and, after all (at least for those of us on tumblr I suspect!) the obsessive speculation/analysis/headcanoning is a large part of the fun!

first of all, i'm glad you consider this a safe place to vent and i totally get having frustrations about certain choices and what not, i obviously have vented my own about the whole situation with babe and the way it could have been very easily handled differently. which, my main gripe with that is that it was a very easy change to make, and a lot of my other complaints about this show i feel in general just come from them not having enough time. the babe situation would have been very easily solvable had they thrown in even ONE line referencing that kant had called babe and he was fine. no need for a whole scene or anything that would take up too much time! just a brief mention, maybe in the scene when kant checks in on style in ep9, and style asks if he's gotten to call babe. that is literally all i would have needed to feel better about that situation.

however, truthfully i don't feel like there's actually that much of a disparity in terms of how kantbison are written versus how fadelstyle are, especially not in ep11, but i have seen this take a couple of times now! i can understand why it may come across that way because fadel and style were having a lot of vulnerable conversations, whereas kant and bison weren't as much, however, i also think it comes down to what each of the brothers needed on that last day. fadel does not trust as easily as bison does, he has a LOT of self doubt and fears that style will leave. what fadel needed on his last day was the reassurance that style was gonna be there and that he wasn't gonna leave while he was in prison.

whereas bison, i feel like he needed the hope of them having that future outside of that one night. it's why he and kant talked about getting married and traveling and talked about their dreams when they were younger. we also have to remember that bison and kant reconciled a whole episode before fadel and style did, so of course they had more time to have those conversations - which we do get to see between ep8, 9, and 10. they have plenty of conversations about their past, about their future, plenty of moments reassuring and affirming their relationship. fadel and style i think are kind of playing catch up before they have to be separated in that regard, which is why it seems more unbalanced. i'm sure if you asked someone that was more into fadelstyle, they'd probably say that ep8 and 9 felt unbalanced but for fadelstyle in that regard. we have to remember these couples and these characters are not only different from one another, but in different places.

and look, that's not me saying that there aren't things i DO wish we'd gotten to see kant and bison talk about more, and i do certainly have my complaints about the fact that firstkhao had to improvise most of the reconciliation scene. i just also think because kant and bison had a lot more lies and deception between them, it's going to feel more like we're missing things when they DON'T talk about things on screen, and i again think a lot of the things we haven't seen have been an unfortunate fact of them not having enough time for everything. cause like i would have loved to see everything you mentioned here, especially kant getting the chance to have a proper breakdown cause he deserves it. i do think it's possible we'll get some of those things next week, though, as i am for sure holding out for another proper bdsm scene until the final moments

i think in general final judgements do kind of need to wait until the show is over because if we don't have a full picture, how can we really judge? that being said, i do adore this show even with the complaints i have and what i would want to see, and while watching live can be stressful and lead to some disappointment and fandom wars, it is VERY fun to get to watch and analyze and theorize live so i really wouldn't change it for the world sjdskjf

I took a bit of a break from writing I'll build castles for you, my love since I went all out and wrote like 15k overall in like a week or two and I've been writing what I call Red Suit Doffy Fic which is set sorta in the same setting, except Doffy manages to get Reader right away before the marines come pick her up so...

I just used it as an excuse because my jaw was on the floor when I saw North Blue Doffy wearing his red suit on Minion Island. Just... On the floor. God, he looks so ✨FINE✨ 😩

Possessive, soft, brought down on his knees for you Doflamingo is def my favourite Doffy to write. He has his soft moments, but he is def also an absolute gaslighting asshole. I always try to keep Doffy... Well, Doffy. For, I'll build castles for you, my love by having that last remaining bit of you as family via your connection to Rosinante, he clings to you a... A lot. He doesn't show you at first, but oh boy, the more times he visits, the more times he sees you, he just... There is a flutter in his chest that gets stronger and stronger with every visit. You're his, your baby with Rosinante might as well be his, too. Forget Rosi. Doflamingo's the better brother - he is the one who walked out of Minion Island alive, after all, and he wouldn't have done that if he wasn't better, now would he?

I think the most fun (read terrifying) thing has been just writing that Celestial Dragon Thought Process™ Doflamingo has, and after rewatching Ep 733 where he explains his view of people to Luffy, seeing on how he treats "humans" depending on his fondness/feelings for them is interesting. And also, Celestial Dragon Traditions which are FUCKED UP. They're 800 years old, so there will be some fucked up practices they consider normal which Doflamingo sticks with - such as the head of the CD family having a right to marry his dead sibling's spouse and taking his family as his own! Isn't that neat? 😊 It's totally normal for Doffy to fantasize about marrying you. Totally normal for him!

I got the idea of the fic after rewatch the whole anime two years ago! My roommate and I had been wanting to catch up since the first apparition of Gear 5 in the manga sooo... Six months and +1000 eps later, I was back into total hyperfixation lol

It started with the want of having a fic where I could explore the ASL brothers' character arcs as both kids and adults! TBH, there aren't enough de-aged fics with either them or the Strawhats, and I love love love this trope when it is used for angst and comfort purposes 🤭

Add to that the feeling that the Flashback episodes about Roger and his crew was too short + this song, and you get the idea for Speak Up, Boys! ٩(๑˃́ꇴ˂̀๑)۶🩷

And omg!!! I can't believe there is one more French Speaker in my readers, you're the 3rd one!! ٩(*´▽`*)۶✨

French is my native language! I haven't thought of translating it yet, since I am focusing on finishing it first, but that could be a great challenge 🦞 Though, knowing myself, I'd nitpick about so many details and phrasing... WIP last line game:

From at standstill and overwhelm (title from one of the tracks on Patrick Wolf’s Night Safari EP, which is the writing soundtrack), a horrible little gremlin of a mission fic daily growing out of hand.

It’s brassian still though, of course. Here is a misleadingly wholesome extract from the most recent chapter I’ve been working on. Yes, the fact that Brasso doesn't feature by name in it is a clue if you want it to be:

There's a deep-space encrypted comm aerial buried in here, and after a few minutes waiting, listening to the air recycler and three sets of lungs breathing shallow and deep, Cassian reaches past Baze to toggle it on and call Kay.

"Cassian! You should know that General Draven is monitoring encrypted channels from the Imperial core and is concerned things have gone off mission."

Cassian has to smile - it's always a relief to hear that arch voice. "Kay, don't tell him anything. I'll make it work in the report. I'm bringing home some old...some friends. But we're going to need to lie low before we can get out of here."

The line is silent for a minute, and Cassian can picture Kay's photoreceptors pulsing as he considers this. "You have instructed me on 4737 separate occasions that you don't have 'friends'. The most common reason you give is that they are a liability."

first impression: so hickey was actually my first fave along with crozier lol I was like let that man top billy, leave him alone!! and this is just a testament to how good the story is and how incredible adam is as an actor but even when he started doing some very questionable shit I still couldn't help but root for him and I in no way expected him to be arguably the main antagonist of the show. I feel like I was watching his later actions in a daze like??? it was just the last place I was expecting his character to go

impression now: nobody and I repeat nobody did it like hickey/adam. he scares me, I love him, i've cried for him, I hate him. I feel like I need to do an exclusively hickey rewatch for sure but I just think he brings so much to the story, I love how they adapted him from the book. and I think what really blows my mind about hickey and just the way Adam portrays him is just how simultaneous his love and care for and manipulation of Billy is, like I do think he truly loved him but he also constantly used him as a means to an end and Billy let him and it's just very crazy idk.

favorite moment: soooooo many I mean obviously the lashing scene. I think I said this answering the crozier ask but that's probably the scene where I empathize the most with a character in the whole show and it's just soooo. like adam's crying and repressed screams are just insane. umm I also love the scene where jirv confronts him but I wish they had left it like it is in the script where he comes up behind him homosexually and whispers "thank you" in his ear lmfao. the scene where he's talking to crozier in the tent in ep 10, his expressions in that scene genuinely scare me sometimes. at the very end when he says "I bet you never saw in Shoreditch the breath of a god in the air", gives me the fucking chills every single time. the way he takes hold of his tongue to cut it out, also gives me chills. his lil head shake when goodsir clocks him when he's trying to get info on silna. there are probably a lot more tbh, I really love all of his scenes.

idea for a story: i'll say it again since I said it sometime yesterday but I suck at writing fiction so instead in this spot i'm going to just talk about fics I like- for me, I really like hickey x jirv fics, the nastier the better lol

unpopular opinion: hmm maybe not unpopular, just not something i've seen discussed much but hickey is a primary example of how white supremacy and colonialism make even those who are lowest on the ladder rung believe that they are superior to the lands and cultures they are conquering and intruding upon- despite hickey's presumed background, his struggle to connect and be part of a collective, his inferiority complex with crozier and gaining his approval, hickey STILL arrogantly assumes he has been "chosen" by tuunbaq to merge with it or control it or whatever the fuck he thought he could do. his look of surprise when tuunbaq bites his arm is soooo good, it really encapsulates everything hickey believes about himself. he couldn't reign supreme in the hierarchy of Britain but he of course, of course thought he could in the arctic and in the netsilik culture/religion.

favorite relationship: him and jirv, no question. their tension goes crazy in my opinion. i'm very partial to him and sol though too

favorite headcanon: I think as a lover/partner he can be very tender when he wants to be

Hmm, there's not many episodes I'd say I hate, but my favorites and least favorites of each season are as follows:

Season 1:

Favorite: Origins -I don't care if this is technically two episodes, I loved seeing the origins of how the children met and how everything went down. The beginning of LadyNoir and oh my gosh we got such good LadyNoir moments here.

Least Favorite: Reflekta -Honestly looking through season 1 there really isn't any that stands out as a least favorite for me. So I chose Reflekta solely because this episode is the start of the curse of the many Reflekta akumatizations to come. xD

Season 2:

Favorite: Heroes' Day -I had to put this one as my favorite just on the premise that I feel that Heroes' Day is the best final/two parter we've had in the entire series. I loved everyone's role in these episodes, and of course we get to see Nathalie being an absolute queen as well.

Least Favorite: Frozer -Eh. Just an episode that's never stood out to me. Forgettable in the long run.

Season 3:

Favorite: Chat Blanc -Favorite episode of the season? More like my favorite episode ever! The angst. The feels. Chat Blanc's hurt and rage. Chat Blanc's design. It's all so beautiful the only change I'd make is making it a two parter and maybe adding a LadyBlanc kiss. But those changes aren't even needed because it's wonderful as is. 11/10. -Gamer 2.0, Oblivio, and Reflekdoll are honorable mentions. For the adorable LadyNoir moments, adorable Lovesquare moments via memory loss, and kwami swap! Season 3 is probably my favorite season overall.

Least Favorite: Christmaster -Just another episode that's never stood out to me. Plot wise it felt mid, and I can't see myself going back to rewatch it or basing a fic on it. Or including it in a fic. -Honorable mention of Miracle Queen though, as this used to be my least favorite of the season. I was really on board for a Chloe redemption when season three ended so this episode kind of stung (hehe) then, but nowadays I don't have the same issues with it.

Season 4:

Favorite: Qilin Least Favorite: Qilin

-Ha! Didn't see this coming, did you? I love love loved so much of Qilin. I loved the themes it addresses, Marinette and Sabine's relationship, the design of the akuma, it was all so good... until the very end!! They let Marinette take the blame when the real problem was racism?? I hate you ticket dude. And also bus driver dude you saw Sabine with her tickets and she literally gave you baked goods and you said nothing when she was taken away? Why???

And if you don't accept one episode being both the favorite and least favorite, then here are my thoughts on other episodes of the season: -I love the setup of Truth and Lies and would love more episodes focusing solely on Adrien. -Guiltrip when Chat Noir almost Catalcysms himself hurts me on a physical level someone give Adrien a hug. -I will forever live for the Plagg and Adrien moments in Kuro Neko.

Season 5:

Favorite: Evolution -Season 5 has a lot of plot-heavy focused episodes, which I always love to get. We got canon Adrinette, Gabriel getting Cataclysmed, awesome lore... but in the end I still think it's this first episode that's my favorite. I loved the action, how it picks right up at the end of season four, and also Rabbit Noir had such an awesome design too. I liked seeing Master Fu again, and the role Alix got to play. Gabriel got his good Monarch design with the stained glass look. Also timetravel can be tricky to write, and they pulled it off well.

Least Favorite: Action -After a whole season of the most plot-heavy episodes yet with a lot happening emotionally... Action has very little action is the way of plot or even as good “filler”.

Specials:

Favorite: Miraculous Paris -Gah honestly I think this is one of the very best episodes in all the show. Fantastic writing, great characterization, a fun adventure and seeing the alternate universe was fascinating. I love Shadybug and Claw Noir. Hesperia was awesome (I refuse to call him Betterfly). I have so many questions about the other world and who the Supreme is. Gabriel singing the intro. I could go on all day.

Least Favorite: ...idk -I mean there's only three specials thus far, and honestly I can't rank the Shanghai or the New York special as the lowest.

Movies: -Jk we only have one. xD But with how movie one ended with Nathalie I'm excited to see what they might do with this universe in the future.

since im rewatching TNG for fic writing purposes im gonna review every ep now that i can remember them better. lets start with season one:

1x01 - 1x02 - Encounter at Farpoint: the first time i watched this episode i was bored out of my mind. the second time i enjoyed it a lot more. i think its messy and too much is happening but its always fun to see Q and obviously i love the scene where Will and Deanna see each other for the first time in two years they're so funnyyyyyy 6/10

1x03 - The Naked Now: first time i watched i was like 'why would they put this so early in the show? thats nonsensical' but now when i rewatch it i just find it very very funny. its silly and stupid it makes me laugh what else do i need 5/10

1x04 - Code of Honor: yeah well. im sure it couldve been worse 1/10

1x05 - The Lone Prophet: its fine nothing really super interesting happens and classic style ferengi are so strange to watch. 4/10

1x06 - Where No One Has Gone Before: traveler!! idk hes weird but i like him. i think the camera angles in this ep are unique for some reason. its one of the better Wesley-centric stories 5/10

1x07 - Lonely Among Us: gasp...among us. i like this ep just fine its weird but in a fun way 6/10

1x08 - Justice: lmaoooo this ep makes me crazy its so dumb but its so funny and weird 5/10

1x09 - The Battle: i wouldnt call myself a Picard fan by any means but i think the story for this ep is fun. its neat. better than the first Ferengi ep 7/10

1x10 - Hide and Q: one of the worst Q eps, its just not very good. the Q Riker thing is weird. tasha hitting on picard makes me uncomfortable 3/10

1x11 - Haven: well what do you expect from me? i love Deanna. i love Lwaxana. i love Will acting like a whiny baby bitch. i prefer the dialogue from the original script than the end product and wish i could know why they made some of the changes they did. especially i dont understand why they removed the line where Deanna talks about honoring her father........its a good line. it adds a lot to Deanna's motivations in the ep. she loves her dead dad so much. whatever, its so weird and so messy but all Betazoid episodes get high scores from me cuz i love them but this is probably the lowest of the Lwaxana episodes because it is so goddamn messy no one is surprised to learn that the writers had very few pre-determined details about Betazed 8/10

1x12 - The Big Goodbye: i hate holodeck episodes and this is the first one! also its clearly out of order, 11001001 definitely shouldve come before this one, so thats annoying. anyway whatever. it bores me but i like when Beverly plays and actually this ep has one of the few Beverly/Jean-Luc scenes that i like so thats fun 3/10

1x13 - Datalore: i would like this episode better if not for all the Wesley stuff. its still a fun episode but it could've been better yknow? 7/10

1x14 - Angel One: i am one of very very few people who dont hate this episode. idk i think its funny. ohh feminism reverse sexism planet its so backwards and horrible unlike us in starfleet we have no sexism anymore obviously none at all equality is real and its here. anyway. i digress. this ep makes me laugh 7/10

1x15 - 11001001: this is probably my least favorite episode of the first season. genuinely i find 'create your perfect woman'-type stories to be 100% irredeemable garbage. there has never been one that i could find even remotely enjoyable. riker and picard both come across as shallow creeps 0/10

1x16 - Too Short a Season: its not the most memorable ep but i like the story just fine 5/10

1x17 - When the Bough Breaks: i like seeing Deep Throat from The X-Files. i also think Deanna saying "humans are unusually attached to their offspring" is a very funny line. i like Wesley in this ep, too. 7/10

1x18 - Home Soil: i am completely neutral about this episode i think. nothing really stands out one way or another 5/10

1x19 - Coming of Age: the Wesley story leaves me confused about Starfleet Academy things but the other storyline is a fun way of recapping the season so far. not that interesting though 4/10

1x20 - Heart of Glory: oh good a Klingon episode. its fine, i guess. (shrugs) 4/10

1x21 - The Arsenal of Freedom: okay i stay confused about officers ranks and whose allowed to do what but WHATEVERRR Geordi and Deanna have their first 1:1 scene in this episode! the first of maybe 4 in the entire series. isn't that insane? its fine. I also like the weird security capitalism planet i think this ep is fun 7/10

1x22 - Symbiosis: sad story. i like when Lower Decks came back here and said "wtf". prime directive stories often make me crazy and this one is no exception 6/10

1x23 - Skin of Evil: another unpopular opinion but i actually enjoy this episode. i think Armus is a fun nonsensical villain monster, i like the mortal danger. i don't like that Tasha dies but I wouldn't have liked that no matter how it was done lol and Deanna got some good scenes in this ep so i cannot hate it! sorry Tasha 8/10

1x24 - We'll Always Have Paris: hmmm its fine? its fun. its confusing, a bit. this is a good ep to rewatch actually 7/10

1x25 - Conspiracy: this ep i'd probably like better if any of it mattered later in the series? lol. i dunno its just kind of like "okay but what happened next?" and the answer is nothing 5/10

1x26 - The Neutral Zone: for whatever reason, i really enjoy this episode. something about it...its fun. its weird. obviously it makes no sense as a season finale but thats life for you 8/10

They’re two bad bitches (and hot!), and so smart and strong (and hot!), both have gone through so much (and hot! wait…). I just think they’re neat and super bad ass and that they should be bffs.

3- Lena Luthor & Querl ‘Brainy’ Dox

These two are so special to me honestly, Brainy is so good for Lena. They’re both great friends for each other but I think that he’s just what Lena needed in a friend.

Okay so, I mostly don’t veer off from popular ships so this won’t be much but I’m rewatching The Handmaids Tale with my mom and I can’t help but feel like Serena Joy and June would make such a great enemies to lovers (if it weren’t for… well, yeah), I will not elaborate.

Blood On White Satin by Skye Riley, Naomi Scott’s character in Smile 2. I don’t know what the songs in that movie have but I’m hooked, been listening to the EP a lot since I watched it.

Lost in My Past

So i was rewatching OBX S3 and i went to ep 7 and i found something to write a fic about basically y'know the scene where Singh's men attack Professor Neville's house boat and JJ and John B are there. Well i decided to write about it

ENJOY

"Hey" John B sighs in annoyance as he turns to JJ. He's trying to convince Professor Neville into giving him any information to find his dad. And JJ isn't helping.

"WHAT?!WHAT IS GOI-"

JJ covers John B's mouth as he tells him to shut up.

It's then John B hears it.

A boat engine.

"Hey Neville how much traffic do you get on this river?" JJ asks.

"Nothi-"

"Neville! Neville Persaud!"

Suddenly bullets sliced through the boats window, shattering it into a shower of glass fragments

John B pushes JJ down as more bullets were fired.

JJ curls up on the floor and holds his knees. His breath grows shallow as blood pounded in his ears.

YOU STUPID WORTHLESS IDIOT

Not real not real not real-

JJ gasps for air as he tugs on his hair-

His dad's angry shouts merge with the gunshots.

YOU'RE JUST LIKE YOUR STUPID MOM

Why can't he breathe, he needs to breathe.

John B slowly rises from his position on the floor and turns to see JJ.

The blonde boy is practically hyperventilating on the ground, his shaking hands tugging at his hair whilst tears stream down his face.

Signs of a panic attack.

"JJ not now, c'mon" John B crouches over the Maybank boy and places his hands gently over JJ's. "You're okay, i swear everything's fine."

"JB"

John B smiles weakly, "Right here buddy, you're safe i promise"

"C-can't breathe" JJ sobs.

"You can I promise you can "

John B's heart breaks at the sight of his best friend on the floor crying and hurting because of an idiotic excuse of a dad. JJ never deserved any of this. John B closes his eyes as a tear rolls down his face. Even though he has witnessed JJ's attacks many times before it still hurts to see him like this.

JJ can't even close his eyes or else the frantic images of Luke's menacing face will flash in his mind.

I HATE YOU SO MUCH

JJ whimpers as he tries to control his breathing.

"JJ, breathe. Focus on my voice," John B urges, his eyes filled with concern. "You're safe here with me. C'mon Bubba"

John B holds JJ's hand as the panic starts to subside.

The bullets still echoed in the distance but Luke's voice isn't there anymore.

JJ sits up and collapses onto John B's chest. JB wraps his arm around him.

"It's over you're okay"

JJ takes in the familiar scent of his best friend- cedarwood and bergamot.

"Sorry, I'm so sor-"

"Stop apologising" John B whispers into his ear. He holds JJ closer, resting his chin on the blonde locks." It'll be fine"

JJ faintly realizes that the boat is moving.

Neville returns, his face ashen and tired.

"I managed to get rid of them at the last minute, that was a close call"

JJ just hides his face in John B's shoulder. He feels guilty- John B must be so stressed right now, what with his Dad all the way in South America with Singh and JJ isn't helping by having a panic attack and-

"JJ?"

"What?" JJ meant for it to sound strong but it comes out as a shaky whisper.

"You're okay"

JJ just nods.

He's so grateful for having John B by his side. Yeah he has a rubbish dad and a stupid chaotic life but John B has always been there for him, holding him, making sure he doesn't break and if he has John B will pick up the pieces and fix him.

John B is JJ's anchor.

JJ's anchor in a messy, crazy, wild ocean.

John B is JJ's home.
