Man people really do be straw-manning you and then interpreting all of your arguments in the worst faith possible and acting like that makes them So Smart And Correct. I’m sorry you gotta deal with all these bozos with zero reading comprehension or critical thinking skills. Just wanna add because it’s been seriously bothering me and I don’t remember you ever bringing it up: one of the core tenets of the original op’s post that you responded to was basically ‘this identity is bad because I’m a lesbian and those people aren’t lesbians in the exact same way as me so they’re hurting the lesbian community because I don’t want to see them when they don’t share all of my experiences and (gasp!) talk about men and their relationship to men sometimes because *I* don’t want to hear about men’ and I just. Idk man if that’s what his argument boils down to its kind of a shitty argument. Even ignoring all of the terf rhetoric (which you correctly pointed out) I can’t even begin to understand why someone would want to be in a queer community where everyone fits into neat little boxes and everyone with your label experiences their orientation exactly like you. Aren’t they forgetting that the whole point of the queer community is that larger society attempted to put us in boxes we didn’t want to be in and categorize us into labels and lifestyles we didn’t want? Why would someone ever parrot the actions of our oppressors and do that to other queer people, when they know what it feels like? I can’t even fathom being that selfish and closed minded
>your argument is chock full of straight up lies  Love how this was said in response to your rebuttal of an argument that CONTAINED ITS OWN “STRAIGHT UP LIES”!! Like pot meet kettle lol. Specifically referring to that one bit that was like “uwu bi women tried really hard on purpose to distance themselves from the lesbian community” because that is straight up not what happened!! I haven’t said anything yet but it’s been bothering me for a while and that one ask has so much fucking Audacity that I couldn’t stop myself from Pointing It Out this time. Ahistorical bullshit and they’re accusing YOU of lying. The audacity of it all I can’t
Anyway these guys are just mad that bi lesbians get more bitches than they EVER will. I heart bi lesbians I love you bi lesbians I hope y’all stay winning mwah <3
I'm assuming these are all from the same person because of the timing? If not, sorry for not doing separate responses.
Yeah, this whole thing has been pretty frustrating to be honest. In a way it's even worse than actual terfs, because these are people who are philosophically not that different than I am, and if we met in real life we probably wouldn't even know that we disagree. I mean, I do talk sometimes about label anarchy with some of my friends, but we have to be close and you have to get me in a philosophical mood. It's really frustrating to be openly disrespected as a person for one opinion that, though it does happen to be really important to me, doesn't come up in my everyday life (or, likely, theirs either).
The whole pronoun thing really got to me too. I KNOW they were just strawmanning, and I KNOW it wasn't really a valid critique of anything I said, but the suggestion that I would even consider purposely using the wrong pronouns for someone is upsetting. I don't think he even noticed before an anon pointed it out as a way to invalidate my argument. I don't think it upset him (or the anon) as much as the anon said it did. I still apologized though because I'm not going to not apologize for using the wrong pronouns.
Also I know jack shit about history because it doesn't stay in my break but yeah actually I do remember reading about that! That's crazy, I can't believe they called me a liar when they don't know their history. I mean, I don't either, but at least I'm honest about it.
Thanks so much for sending these messages! Not gonna lie, I was going a bit crazy with all this and the only anons I was getting until now have been the hate ones that I've shared and a few hate ones that I just outright deleted. I know people agree with me because I've seen the likes on my posts, but it's nice to have someone defending me as well, so thank you <3

finished wednesday on netflix tonight, so queued gifsets incoming. gonna look sort of hilarious next to all my festive posting, lmao. so be sure to block the tag if you're not interested, and if you are interested in an avid addams family (both the 90's movies and the television show) enjoyer's thoughts, i have a few very-spoilery opinions below the cut!
first of all, i liked it. it wasn't perfect, of course, but i enjoyed it!
it was wild to me to see there were a few people saying it was too violent? i know it used to be cartoon violence, or only reverences to violence, but i felt they delivered fairly well on that front. i was shocked to read some people took the piranha in a swimming pool bit seriously due to the fact that it was piranha... in a swimming pool. i laughed.
on the side of "the addams don't like murder enough" i definitely felt that. there was a slight toothlessness to them that i didn't love, but i do understand the reasoning behind it. by changing genre, it means there have to be stakes, there has to be some sort of line drawn between what is acceptable and what isn't. they did play with this a bit, too, when gomez was accused of murder and morticia said she had never loved him more, that was great. but y'know, the whole proving of their innocence thing was kinda meh. another post pointed out, morticia and gomez probably would have enjoyed that situation a bit more than they were portrayed to, based on theur prior characterizations. but again, i get it in theory. if your big bad guy is a murderer, then having your whole cast be murderers is a little harder to navigate. they took the easy route of "murder fun and interesting in theory, less fun and interesting in practice."
i was a little dissapointed by bianca's screentime, since i feel she deserved more of it. as a lot of people have also pointed out, (though i must clarify i am white, so take my opinion on this matter with a grain of salt) it was a little iffy having several "antagonists" be black, though i did genuinely like all of their characters, and obviously they all became not-antagonists by the end of things. it does also rub me the wrong way that there's a tendency to cast black men as (in this case ex-)cops, and that line from morticia to the mayor felt really tonedeaf, especially without any rebuttal. but again, my opinion on this matter isn't backed up by first-hand experiences, so take it or leave it.
i loved the dynamic between enid and wednesday. i mean, how could you not? i liked wednesday with bianca too, but in terms of shipping i do understand why people are leaning toward enid/wednesday. they got more screentime together, enid's inability to wolf out was the least subtle allegory for queerness i've ever seen, and that hug? hello? more romantic than any interaction with the love triangle guys by far. bianca and wednesday did get some great moments together, though, and again i wish they'd had more time to interact directly.
i have more thoughts but i'm having some trouble articulating them, so i might reblog this with some additions later when i'm more coherent. i love to hear more about what other people thought, though, so i'm excited to keep creeping in the tags tomorrow!

Ok closing things bc I really have to go to bed:
1. Seriously if you are a twt user or even if you're not do not genuinely send any ccs hate over these jokes. Just bc they're not everyone's taste doesn't mean they're hurting anyone so let's all be chill and not send any hate or anything
2. If you missed the """discourse""" (on my blog I mean idk if anyone else said anything) here's the gist of it:
I am not genuinely upset with any cc at all. I know that Michael_B was never in any danger and I know the jokes are just ooc jokes and goofing around. I think trending /neg over jokes like this is completely unnecessary and stupid. The complete extent of the "discourse" was me talking abt how/why I don't think this joke is funny, all properly tagged. I'm not saying that any cc did anything wrong, but I am allowed to post abt disliking a joke, esp tagged properly.
3. I am usually not a discourse blog I promise I keep my mouth shut abt discourse as often as I am able to. Like I'm normally SO good at not getting involved even when I rlly want to but Michael_B is like the one topic I am so passionate abt I love that little guy so much
Btw for anyone wondering Michael_B is completely safe, it's all just jokes he was never in any danger so nobody worry you can relax and sleep/go do something else if you need :)
I probs won't be answering anymore asks abt this tonight but if anyone has anything else to add or wants to correct something I said/offer a rebuttal or something u can still send an ask and I will try to get to it tomorrow ! <3

Over on Twitter...
Something strange is happening to me over on Twitter. I don't understand it & I'm hoping one of my readers has some insight.
Background: I follow an odd assortment of people including a reporter over in Charlotte, NC. I won't waste your time explaining why I follow the guy because it's irrelevant to the situation. I rarely comment but I show my support for some of the people I follow by routinely giving a like to their posts. Back on 17 December 2021, this reporter posted about the arrest of a father & son for suspected Covid-Relief fraud. I didn't comment & only "liked" it.
The problem:
Tumblr media
See that "21 others"? I'm included. What she must have done was tag every darn person who just happened to "like" the original post. It certainly didn't get much attention at the time. Maybe she seriously wanted every one of us to see her rebuttal. I saw the Notification, read her post, checked her links then shrugged if off.
Then I got mentioned again—TWICE!
Tumblr media
Martinez used the same list of tags. THAT feels malicious. See how many "likes" & re-tweets her first post got. That's how many Notifications I got! I never saw this family's story in my Trends, which include whatever is going in the state where I live. So that's weird. This New York Today article was nowhere to be found when I searched deep into Trending Topics. A couple hours later she did it again!
Tumblr media
See those 62 re-tweets! I stopped counting how many notifications I received after it went over 800! Good gawd, yesterday I felt harassed!
Also yesterday, 2 innocent bystanders like me replied to a growing longer list of targets, "Stop tagging me!" And that set off a huge round of notifications from people liking & re-tweeting their protests & commenting about how stupid they are. The notifs have trickled down to only a few today but I'm still getting notifications today for tweets that tagged me for no good reason.
Does this kind of thing happen often? Were they trying to make a Trend happen by saying it was happening? I dunno. I still haven't seen it Trending. If this should ever happen to me in the future, what steps should I take to cut myself out of it?
If anyone reading this knows, please reply to this post or contact me via Chat.

You’re such a proud gold star dyke but you think men bodies are perfection,of course 🙄. You all always expose yourself . Do you know why a lesbian consenting to sex with a man and not enjoying it,isn’t the same as straight women not enjoying sex with a man? The same reason a lesbian never having sex with a man is completely different from straight women never having sex. Attraction! That’s it. We’re not attracted to men we don’t lust over their bodies. And since I know your type loves treating lesbians like a caricature of human being. I will jump ahead and state no, not thinking women are inherently less appealing than men doesn’t translate to thinking ALL women are attractive.
I'm not interested in gold star discourse, actually. I don't care, which is why I haven't made any posts about it. I feel like this is about the one ask that I published? I published it as a rebuttal to "butch dykes and feminine twinks fuck each other because they're experimenting." I'm not stupid enough to miss that the person who sent that ask definitely has something to say about gold star discourse but that's not my cross to bear.
My blog is not meant to police anybody. I'm not here to tell people who I think is a real lesbian or not. I'm literally just here to call out gender bullshit, say positive gay shit, and drop off stories. If anybody (especially lesbians) find comfort or enjoyment in my blog then that's all I care about. I'm not here to talk about my views on sexuality.
As for thinking male bodies are perfection, well, I'm not sure how that's "telling on myself" when I've never expressed attraction to male bodies, only envy. I don't think expressing my struggle of hating being a woman means that I suddenly think men are the sexiest creatures ever and I want to be them because I think they're perfect. Unless you're trying to make a case that women who struggle with their sex do so because they crave being with men, it really feels like you just wanted to attack me for opening up about my dysphoria.
The rest of this ask is just getting on my case for stuff I quite literally did not say. I mean, seriously, the whole middle section of this ask is you defending yourself against an argument I never made. Also, the "your type" comment. How do you know who I am? I would love to reiterate that I've never made a post pertaining to gold star discourse. Anon, you're entirely attacking the version of me you've created in your head.

My Best Cookie Votes and Why: Round 1, Part 1
Tumblr media
Mint Choco: While Orange is nice and all, she's ultimately a pretty flat character...and not just in the literal sense either. Minty, on the other hand, has an actual backstory, for starters, plus he's not an absolute dick to his closest friend like his opponent is. Plus, Mint's implied romance with Cocoa is infinitely more satisfying than the Citrus Love Triangle that they do absolutely nothing with. (As a side note, I find it hilarious that the very first matchup is literally just Orange Juice vs. Toothpaste.)
Sea Fairy: I like Tiger Lily and all, but literally her only purpose in canon seems to be to never get told what anything is, which is extremely frustrating on the part of the other Cookies and honestly hits way too close to home. That, and her major character arc with Princess is NEVER touched upon, while Sea Fairy presumably actually managed to reunite with Moonlight.
Pilot: This matchup was essentially Good, Loving (probably surrogate) Grandparent versus Awful, Neglectful, Irresponsible Grandparent who is confirmed to have attempted to alter her granddaughter's DNA in order to change her personality. So yeah.
Pink Choco: Neither of these Cookies really stand out at all. I am a fan of Pink's Magical Girl theming, though, and honestly I'd rather see her on stage than Carol. Also, Pink's design is leagues better.
Tumblr media
Walnut: I'll admit, she's just more endearing to me for some reason. Her power is more interesting (and I actually understand how exactly it's supposed to work), and honestly the idea of a little detective with a teddy bear assistant is just adorable. I'm still mad about Angel, but that's not exactly HER fault, now is it?
Dark Choco: DC is a compelling fallen hero character who drives the entire story of Ovenbreak with his disappearance. White Choco Cookie is French, and that's about it. Also:
Tumblr media
How can you not vote for him when he promises you such important lore? (Granted, he calls you out for being vain if you pick him. Hey, any lore is good lore, pal! Also, I have long hair I need to worry about too!)
Purple Yam: Honestly, the fact that he actually questions the bad writing sold me on voting for him. He's also a genuinely good character despite his only emotion being anger.
Firecracker: I absolutely love her 80s arcade aesthetic, even in spite of her being way too young to have ever been to an arcade in the 80s. She genuinely wants everyone to have fun, too. Also, Marshmallow got Flame Bat and Celestial Star locked up for her Trial.
Tumblr media
Squid Ink: To be honest, this was one of the tougher choices. In the end, I decided that Inky needed more love after what they've been through, so they got the vote. Sorry, Fig.
Roguefort: Devsis has a really bad habit this list of putting far more interesting recent characters against old characters with nothing really to them. I mean, yeah, Ninja's mysterious and all, but you've done absolutely nothing with him since not even LINE, but the defunct game Ovenbreak 2! Other than maybe change his name from Ninjabread, anyway. Hell, Tiny Ghost is more interesting than him, but even then newer players wouldn't even know that, since the one throwaway line hinting at something more was in a Cookie Quest, which were removed from the game entirely over a year ago. Roguefort is more interesting by default.
Vampire: Can I be honest for a sec here? I hate Pancake with a passion. He deliberately makes himself seem cuter to get his way. Based on his interactions with Cream Puff, he's just as cruel as his big bro, if not as outwardly aggressive. No, Pancake relies on psychological manipulation to get everything he wants, and the worst part is IT'S FUCKING WORKING. As we speak, he's stealing a Magic Candy from Devil, from Kiwi...hell, he's even stealing it from Vampire! And now he's dominating the polls, adding insult to debilitating injury. He's not even fucking cute. Yeah, I said it.
Pistachio: Soda has absolutely no personality other than surfboard. Do I even need to say more?
Tumblr media
Peppermint: DE could be SUCH a good villain if Devsis could decide what kind of villain she even is. Also if they remembered she was a major villain at all.
Lemon: I'll admit, I see a lot of myself in Lemon. Mostly in feeling artificial and having basically no friends, ever. I honestly think I'd be in a much worse place if I didn't have a brother. Whip could be great if they did anything with the White Swan/Black Swan dynamic he has with Skating Queen.
Pitaya: I've always had problems with the "You can only eat if you work for it" mentality. First of all, you need food to get energy to work, and if you aren't fed, then how are you going to work hard for food!? Second, what if you're disabled or otherwise can't work? Do you just starve to death, then? It just sounds awful!
Cream Puff: She's trying her best.
Tumblr media
Kumiho: ...I honestly don't remember.
Pomegranate: A genuinely good villain who stole the show with her introduction. She could've easily been a Knight of Cerebus if the writers cared enough.
Cyborg: Blackberry abandoned a child relying on her protection to chase after a man who didn't remotely need her help. Also, she hates Devil. Also also, Cyborg is cool.
Hero: If you've read Hellfyre Speaks, you can probably guess why I personally picked Hero. I'm just surprised at the popular vote; it seemed to me like Herb was way more popular! But I guess not? Or at least not with early voters.
Tumblr media
Werewolf: He's far more fleshed out than Gumball by far.
Devil: Have I ever actually explained why Devil is my favorite? Like, sure, he's an asshole, but he's the fun, ineffectual kind of asshole you actually wanna root for that you see in cartoons; like, in shows focused on a 'villain' character's scheming, usually with a naive idiot going along with it and a very-much-ignored voice of reason. Like in Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, or Evil Con Carne. Devil also has a flair for the dramatic, a knack for 'evil' schemes, and even the perfect foil to play off of! He'd be an absolute goldmine when it comes to the more lighthearted antics between acts, but Devsis is apparently content to just haul up gravel.
Knight: I'll be honest, I saw Alchemist and immediately clicked the other Cookie without looking who it was. But this isn't a post about her, so let's talk about Knight. First off, he'd be the perfect antagonist to Devil; Devil goes full ham when acting out an 'evil' plan, while Knight takes everything WAY too seriously. He adores Princess Cookie but doesn't know jack shit about her, which juxtaposed with Princess's nonchalant rebuttals of everything he claims about her makes it hilarious in a kind of pathetic way. (Ex. Knight claiming that Princess would probably never eat Jam again, then Princess replying she could totally go for some right now to the exact same question.) He's delusional in a way that you'd feel bad for him if he wasn't so over-the-top about it, and yet at the same time he does have skills that match up with his headcanon of how things work, just not the reputation.
Matcha: Seems like the person who'd play both sides for her amusement. I'd keep an eye on her.
