what's your headcanon for cherik as parents? i think charles is obviously the protective and worried dad who constantly has a headache and erik is probably the cool liberal dad who does all the illegal stuff with his teenage kids

Hi!! Thank you for the ask and I'm sorry for the late reply!

I do agree that charles is the protective one, and erik being erik allows the kids to do more... illegal stuff. Like, charles wouldn't want the kids to fight in school. Erik, tho? Someone insulted you? Punch them! They hit you? Hit them back! I think he'd give that kind of advice lol.

So sometimes the kids may "hide stuff" from Charles and tell erik instead. what's interesting, though, is that in alternate universes where they still have powers, i'd like to think that charles knows about these, i mean he's a telepath, right. but he lets the kids keep 'secrets' from him because he likes seeing them bond with erik and he thinks they're cute haha.

BUT i do think there are cases where the kids will tell charles stuff instead of erik. like, if one them has a crush on someone at school... they'd confide in charles because while charles worries over them he won't meddle too much. But i think if erik knows his children have a crush on someone he'll go into super protective mode and check whether the other person is worth it or not (basically stalking).

if said crush hurts their kids both erik and charles would be angry. i think for erik it would be obvious that he's angry, but for charles, he's more of the sneaky type. i like to think charles would smile and act all nice, he's discreet, but really he's a telepath and he'll 'accidentally' tell the crush's parents about all the skeletons in their closet.

e.g., the crush has failed their exams? charles will 'accidentally' tell their parents. oh, the crush skipped classes and went out to drink with friends? oh, the teacher 'accidentally' found out about it. oops, now the crush is suspended from school. aww, how could that possibly happen?

i also think erik would make dad jokes and he thinks it's funny. the kids are not amused, tho. charles would always want matching things. matching mugs, shirts, shoes. all custom made of course, i mean he has the money for it. charles would show affection more physically, hugging and stuff. erik not so much, but you know he cares because he always listens, always cares, is always there.

as it is with cherik, it think cherik as parents, together, would balance each other perfectly.

on another note (slightly off topic) idk if it's just me, but i feel like there's a lot of dadneto fics, where erik is the dad and charles is the stepdad, whereas there aren't many fics (if any, at all) about charles as the real dad and erik as the stepdad.

i wanna know what erik would be like as a stepdad, becuz i think it's pretty much agreed that stepdad!charles would be nice and bond well with pietro. but what about stepdad!erik and david haller? i really wanna know what that would be like.

THIS IS SO AMAZING! I LOVE IT SOOO MUCH!! I have watched this animatic before and I understood it a lot more with your narrative. Thank you very much for sharing that! I find it so endearing that Peter and Erik were always destined to meet no matter what timeline!! And ohmygod, Erik imprisoned for 24 years? Poor man. Never gets a break! And then Wanda, is once again, dead😭 I mean, I imagine her dead too most of the time because Fox didn’t show us their version of Wanda. Peter finally telling Erik he’s his son and that they team up against the sentinels but alas!!!! The curse against Erik’s family struck once again 😭 AND IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL HOW ERIK MADE A PIECE OF ROSE FROM HIS HELMET. I’M LITERALLY CRYING RIGHT NOWWWW! Aaaaa, I wish you continue the fic! Well then, speaking about first fics! I’m not sure if you’re interested but since you shared, I wanted to share as well! I wrote my first fic about them 2 years ago too!!!! It’s an AU with no magic because I really found Peter’s speed abilities very hard to write. I know there’s a lot more mutants more powerful than him but like… if he’s faster than most of them then they wouldn’t have much time to react, right? So yeah, I decided to write an AU without powers… In that AU, Peter is a very young kid who always annoys Erik in the library while Erik, in his mind, just goes like ‘where is this kid’s parents?’ But in the end, he started to appreciate Peter’s company. I never did publish it though because till now, I still don’t know how to do the big revelation. (Maybe this is why Fox didn’t do the reveal? Because they didn’t know how?!?! Anyways, who cares. I still hate them for doing that.)

And another fic I wrote about them also 2 years ago!! I included Wanda in this one! The first few chapters focused on Peter’s insecurities because he always thought that Wanda is the ‘better twin’ and that everyone likes her more including their father. Erik is not aware of this thinking but he always makes sure to devote his time equally to the twins. There’s a bit of unspoken strain in Peter and Wanda’s relationship too despite them being close. It all stemmed from their late mother. Since Wanda thought that Peter didn’t save their mother on purpose; while Peter was a bit jealous of Wanda since she always had Magda’s attention. And then, the main plot comes in! MCU Wanda really had to ruin everything and take Peter away from them. But since X-Men Wanda and Peter’s relationship isn’t the best, there’s an uncertainty if Peter would even want to come home considering that MCU Wanda treats him so well 🥺 But yeah, we all know nothing is gonna stop Erik from bringing his son back 🫣 I actually published this fic! The first few chapters, I mean… It originally focused on MCU Wanda and Peter’s relationship but I’ve decided to focus on dadneto when I do get the time to work on it again hehe. I might add it in the House of Dadneto collections if it runs again! 🤩

Summary:

“Can you help me find Pietro? I want to make sure he’s okay too?” There was silence after the question and Erik noticed Charles looking off behind him. Erik turned his head to look where Charles was to find Jean and Scott behind him. They were both silent as well and Erik felt his heart drop. “Charles, where is my son?” He asked, his head turning back to look at the man. “Where’s my boy? Tell me he’s okay.” There were tears in his eyes that he was fighting, doing everything in his power to keep himself from panicking at least until he had an answer. - Pietro is hurt in battle with the Sentinels. Erik's reaction isn't out of proportion at all, even if his boy will be okay.

i'm both excited and nervous to get lorna in xmen 97 tbh.

on one hand, LORNA!!! i love lorna! and this is our chance to finally get a non-toxic dadneto where he isn't a shitty father to his three kids. (plus pietro and wanda are still his kids in this universe so...)

on the other hand, she's back in x-factor. which yeah, it's the 90s, and x-factor was going in the og animated series. but especially with ANOTHER xf series going on RIGHT NOW where she and havok are stuck together (i haven't read it lmk if they aren't a couple and i'll consider it) it's just... tiring. plus in the og she didn't show up all too much and when she did she had no personality.

i do wanna stay optimistic tho!!! 97 blew me away with actually being good for a disney project, and i want to cross my fingers and say beau demayo has it covered. i heard rumors he was fired but he's still posting on instagram like he's working on it so... idk?

There were pros and cons to staying at Charles’s school, Erik had discovered. For starters, there always seemed to be some kind of virus or cold going around, sick little kids running everywhere. It didn’t bother Erik too much but he did think they could do a little more to keep from getting sick and spreading their germs. On the plus side though, when his son inevitably caught whatever was going around that week, Erik got to be there for him and care for him the way a father should. Even when the thing going around is a stomach virus. - Peter catches the stomach virus going around the school and Erik takes care of his son.

Magneto raised a single eyebrow, observing Peter with a mixture of curiosity and something akin to paternal concern. Not that Peter was delusional enough to actually think that's what it was. Nope. hi im back because i keep thinking about a specific scene from xmen apocalypse and ive annoyed all my non dadneto friends too much already. so ive never seen anyone on tumblr talk about this (tho maybe i just missed it) but theres a part after charles has been kidnapped where hes pleading with erik to help. and erik says something like "whatever you saw in me died, along with my family" and theres an immediate scene change after that to peter and co trapped with stryker. but the way the scene is framed, peter is in the dead center of the shot. like everyone is circled around him and hes DEAD center. and i refuse to believe that wasnt completely intentional to have erik just saying all his good died with his family- only to cut to a family member that is very much alive. anyway we were robbed of the dadneto reveal have a nice day

If you’re ever in need of a canon Dadneto reveal though, go watch the episode ‘Family Ties’ from X-Men (1992) because it’s PEAK content!! (Also there’s a Dadneto hug in that show in the season 5 premiere ‘The Phalanx Covenant’ which GIVES ME LIFE!) Those writers really knew what we wanted, unlike the movie writers 😩

I saw the other anon ask about why you added weird accents and kinks and stuff and I wanted to kind of agree I guess. Like they were so right for bringing that up. Personally I’ve seen it a lot too and it doesn’t really seem right, but I’ve been to nervous to say anything because I never wanted to make the writers upset or anything, but now that someone else has brought it up I totally agree.

And this is something that they didn’t bring up but I wanted to. I don’t really mind you’re writing but i’ve noticed that you always swear that Peter would be a fuckboy but he’s also like insecure in the story? Fuckboys aren’t really insecure? And Peter doesn’t really seem like a f-boy to me. I don’t know maybe it’s just a me thing, but he’s always written as a f-boy until he gets with the reader and then he’s like insecure almost and that just doesn’t seem right when talking about Peter. Especially with the whole Dadneto arc, and how Peter is so hellbent on telling Erik he’s his son. I just don’t think a fuckboy would be so insistent on trying to be reunited with his father

Legal Guardian

Writer's note: I miss Dadneto. We were robbed. Also love Charles Xavier as Peter's unofficial father figure. Also the gif isn't mine.

It wasn't Peter's first time in police cell, and he was sure it won't be his last. Peter Maximoff sat alone in his cell, bored out of his mind.

He was caught for stealing. Again. Yes, he could've just escaped like usual but he didn't want to really be on the run forever.

"Mr. Maximoff, your mother is not picking up the phone. Is there any other adult that we may call? Your father perhaps?" The officer says, holding a phone in his hand.

Peter bites his cheeks. His father... Erik Lehnsherr. No, he didn't even know Peter was his son. It would be a terrible time to break the news. 'Hey Erik, fun fact! I'm your son! Now can you bail me out of prison?' It would absolutely tarnish his relationship with the man.

"Uh, yeah," Peter says. "I guess you can call uh Charles Xavier. He's not my dad, but... he's close enough."

"Splendid," The officer says, smiling at the boy. “What’s the number?”

"I see... Of course... I'll be there... Thank you."

Charles Xavier run's his hand through his hair, putting the phone down. He sighs.

"What was that all about?" Erik asks, moving his chess piece.

"It was Peter, he's currently detained. I need to bail him out," Charles says, putting on a brown coat. "Guess, we'll have to continues this later, Erik."

Erik looks back at Charles. His mind reeling. Peter was detained? Whatever for?

For stealing

The voice rung in Erik's head. Erik glares at Charles who only smiles at him. Amusement lacing his face. "Well then, I'll just follow you," Erik says, standing up and getting his leather coat.

Charles purses his lips. He didn't know if that would be the best course of action. Especially since Erik was Peter’s father. But how else would be deny Erik.

“Come on, we better hurry. I would rather Peter not be stuck in that cell for any longer,” Erik says, summoning his keys and patting Charles on the shoulder. Charles nods.

~ “Your legal guardian in here Mr. Maximoff.”

“Legal guardian?” Peter says, looking up.

“Uh, no, I’m sorry, i’m not his legal guardian,” Charles says, smiling awkwardly to the officer.

“How did you get yourself into this situation now, Peter?” Erik asks, touching the cold metal bars. He wanted nothing more than to bend it, but alas, Charles would’ve scold him for it. Peter freezes, noticing Erik who was smiling softly at him. A lump forms in his throat. Why was he here? Peter didn’t answer Erik, only looking down at the grey floor.

“I see… Alright, thank you so much,” Charles says to the officer who opens the door of the cell. Peter quickly scampers out of the cell.

“We’ll be off now. Thank you officer!” Charles says, waving as he goes into the passenger seat of the car in which both Erik and Peter already were sat in.

Peter nervously fidgets in his seat. He always hated car rides. They were too slow in his opinion. And now he was stuck with Erik Lehnsherr. The one man he had been avoiding for all his life.

You should tell him the truth.

Peter purses his lips, looking up to see Charles staring at him, Charles nods at him. Gesturing for him to do it. Peter bites the inside of his cheek.

If you don’t, I will. Trust me Peter, He’ll be accepting.

Peter sighs, hearing Charles’ voice ring through his head. He clears his throat. “So, uh Erik, I have something I wanted to uh, share, with you…”

“Oh? And what is that?” Erik says, focused on the road. Peter looks at Charles who gives him a reassuring look.

“Well, uh… imyourson.”

“Pardon? I didn’t catch that.”

“I’m… I’m your son,” Peter repeats, letting the words leave his mouth slowly and clearly. The car comes to an abrupt stop. No- I know I shouldn’t have done that-

“I- Your my son? Why… Why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Erik says, turning back to look at Peter.

“Well I- I just- I didn’t know how you would react…” Peter admits, not daring to look his father in the eyes. Erik’s face softens.

“Oh Peter. Why would I be anything but overjoyed?” Erik says. Peter’s eyes widen as he looks back up to see Erik smiling, genuinely, at him. Erik turns back and starts driving.

Peter sits speechless, glancing at Charles who looks at him with an ‘I told you so’ look on his face. Peter scoffs, smiling at him.

“I guess we have a lot to catch up on then,” Erik says, breaking the silence.

“Son.”

Magneto's Kids

Chapter 6

     Pietro carefully snuck in walking past the kitchen. He was halfway through the living room when someone cleared their throat.

     "What are you doing sneaking around?" Pietro froze in his tracks, slowly looking back to see Wanda standing behind him.

     "I had a small accident" He sighed before pulling a piece of paper out of his coat pocket. Wanda took the paper reading over it very carefully. Peter peered into the room holding a bowl of ice cream, seeing that things were about to get interesting he quickly jumped onto to couch.

     "I can't believe you wrecked Dad's car!!!!" Wanda yelled at Pietro as she stormed back and forth across the room.

     "It was an accident I was driving as carefully as I possibly could" Wanda turned to face her brother, giving him the, you have got to be kidding me, look before continuing to yell. Peter sat on the couch with a bowl of ice cream enjoying the chaos.

     "You call going one hundred miles over the speed limit careful?" Wanda's eyes turn red and she put on her power restraint bracelets to keep from tearing down the house.

     "You have no idea what it is like having to live life in slow motion" Pietro wined. Wanda was glad she had her bracelets on because by now she would have knocked Pietro out cold.

     "You are literally the second fastest person alive why couldn't you just run" Pietro started to do the puppy face.

     "But then I'll be tired" Peter gave a small laugh. Pietro sent him a glare but Peter just continued to laugh.

     "You sound like an old man," Peter said stuffing another spoon full of strawberry cheesecake ice cream in his mouth.

    "I may not be as fast as you but I'm stronger and one hundred times better looking," Pietro said trying to make himself look more buff.

      "As if, you look like some kind of shield experiment gone wrong" By this time both speedsters were racing around the room. 'I hope I'm adopted' Wanda thinks as she tries to stop them.

     "Why you little-" Pietro tripped over his own foot crashing into the couch. Peter turned around to laugh and crashed into the wall. 'If I am adopted I'm so un-adopting myself' Wanda facepalmed.

      "Pietro this is serious, we need to figure out what to tell Dad that won't make him go on a rampage" Peter shivered.

    "Trust me that is something you never want to see" Images of Magneto attacking innocent people flash in his mind. Pietro started to look very worried as he thought of a way out of this "You know I could just 'borrow' a car that looks like Dad's"

     "We don't steal kid" Pietro reminded him. Wanda gave a disapproving look to her younger brother, which Peter just rolled his eyes at.

    "I know for a fact both of you stole stuff while working for Hydra," Peter said finishing off the last of his ice cream "Heck Dad stole an entire bridge and football stadium"

     "Okay I've got it we say that I got in a fight with these bad guys and they stole the car" Wanda rolled her eyes before walking outside.

     "This is bad what do I do dad will be home any second!!?!?"Pietro turned to see Erik getting dropped off by one of his friends from work.

      "Welp, dear brother of mine it looks like you're on your own" Peter zoomed upstairs. Pietro would have run too, if not for the fact that his feet felt glued to the ground. The first thing Magneto did before going into the house was check the garage.

     "Hey, Dadneto what's up?" Pietro asked nervously as Erik walked in the door.

     "Where is my car?"Pietro went completely pale as his dad turned to him.

     "Well, you see-" Pietro was cut off by someone beeping a car horn outside. He looked out the window to see Wanda driving a car that looked like their dad's but was not wrecked.

      "Sorry, Dad I had to go get some books from the library so I could study" Wanda tossed Erik the key as she walked in. Erik gave a small nod of approval before going to his room.

     "You owe me one," Wanda said a little annoyed. Pietro hugged her repeatedly saying that she was his favorite sibling and he owed her his life. "You still owe me seventy thousand dollars"

Alright, if we’re never going to get Peter telling Erik he’s his son, I just need Michael Fassbender and Evan Peters to do another movie together for the sole purpose of them doing press together so the interviewer can ask them to act out the scene.
