Hey my good pal ! It would make me really happy if you made headcannons of the Gorillaz members + Ace about how they would interract with a S/O who's autistic and do stimming a lot, because i'm autistic myself and i do stimming A LOT. If you don't want to do this with all members, i understand, but if you could do it with at least Noodle, 2D and Ace, it would be cool !
Awhh of course! Anything for my buddies! :D
i might actually also need this holy fuck hfgsgsh-
Murdoc
Lightly pokes fun of your hyperfixation(s) unless its something he is also interested in! But will throw hands with anyone else that does that
But after 2D got onto him, explaining why thats EXTREMELY wrong and disrespectful (poking fun of your hyperfixations), he apologized profusely and sobbed into his pillow calling you while also eating it being like "I-Im SZO ZSORreERrYy!!! PLLLalpl3aEAsE DioNt LeBaevebM MeeeeEEee!!! WAHHAAHGAGc YoYOU CaNN TalTALk ABoUT AnYAnYTHING yOUyoU WANT!!!"
Anyways. Isn't all that informed but says he is. He just gets his information from 2D cause he knows he has ADHD(?).
When he first saw you stimming, just went "oh, yeah, thats cute. 2D wtf are they doing? Did i do something wrong?" After having to be explained what stimming is, Murdoc fell down a rabbit hole of stim toys while looking online because 2D suggested to learn more about Autism online
Next thing you know, you meet up with him, and he gives you a stim toy and continues on the meetup or date like its normal. Then its its something that's your hyperfixation(s). Then its both. Then its just himself with a bow on his head
Understands and sympathizes with you when your overwhelmed, offers to take you somewhere else. Does his best to help out, really!
OMNE MORE 4 HIM I SWEAR!! He tried to cosplay Scott Pilgrim but failed horribly, still went to go see you though!
Ace
I have no idea what this man gots going on with him but I know it's something funky, I swear! /post /aff
I also like to imagine when you told him that he was like "Bada-boom-bada-bang baby!" And just had Noodle get him a library book about autism because he is literally banned from his town's library (again)
the next day mfer was telling you facts about Scott Pilgrim to try and swoon you plus buys you merch of it and always does the fuck boy face after he gives you em
Calls your stimming "jazzy". Probably offers you his knife to stim with, just says to be careful because he doesn't want you or it hurt
Will stab anyone that overwhelms you. Idk man he's a lil uh, funky, I think
2D
This man has ADHD, i think(?) idk, but im pretty sure he's neurodivergent! Anyway, because of this, he understands incrediblely well!
Sometimes, when you stim, he joins in. He can't really help it and its not a bad thing either, really! It's just.. whenever he sees someone else stimming or hears a funky noise, he stims (yes, i do this, yes im self-inserting or whatever the word is, and yes i will stop if anyone wants me to!)
He actually enjoys hearing about your hyperfixation(s) too! But, he might space out or dissociate randomly, so just a fair warning, if he doesn't remember some of the details. He is also forgetful on top of that, so you might have to refresh his memory on that stuff
Might also develop the same hyperfixation as you because the way you make it sound so cool and interesting, and correct me if im wrong, but isnt it Scott Pilgrim vs the world? I think he would be way into that ngl, same with Murdoc, maybe?
Gets you matching stim toys because he thinks its cute, but he never uses his unfortunately, mainly because he lost it in one of his pants pockets as well as his leftover lint balls
Tries not to overwhelm you and plan dates that fit your schedule, while he does have a bad habit of wandering off or staying too close to you, at least he occasionally remembers to either: look behind him OR ask you if he needs to move a bit
Russel
Surprisingly is very well informed! Offers to get you stim toys and take you to the movies if they're playing it
Very chill and understanding about it overall tbh, just a thoughtful kind guy!
If you ever need him to, he will lay on you like a weighted blanket
Just smiles at you when you stim and pats you on the head,
Offers to show you cat videos when your overwhelmed that helps him
I cant think of any more headcanons for him, I am so sorry
Noodle
Extremely supportive and interested in your hyperfixation
Understands when you stim and even tries to help you or change things for you incase you need to
Has offered to beat up anyone that makes fun of your stimming, definitely will
Also very supportive! Uplifts you a lot
I also have no ideas for her either, all I know is she is just.. so supportive and protective of you

"i thought once that gods are the opposite of death, but i see now they are more dead than anything, for they are unchanging, and can hold nothing in their hands" ('circe' by madeline miller)
"'spreader of swords, it is your own sons' / corpse-bloody hearts you've chewed up with honey, / proud man, you've consumed dead men's meat, / eating it as ale-dainties, sending it to the high seat' [...] with the point of a blade she gave the bed a bloody drink, / with a hel-keen hand, and set the dogs free; / she woke the servants, and in front of the hall-door / she flung a burning brand: she paid them back for her brothers. / to the fire she gave everyone who was inside, / who'd come from myrkheim after murdering gunnar and his men; / the ancient timbers fell, the temples smoked, / the buildings burned of budli's kin, and the shield-maids inside; / their lives stemmed, sinking into hot flames." (gudrun avenges her brother in 'atlakviða', a poem in the old norse poetic and elder eddas)
"you aren't a flower, you're every blossom in the wood blooming at once. you are a tidal wave. you're a stampede. you are overwhelming." ('crooked kingdom' by leigh bardugo)
"from the passenger seat, ronan began to swear at adam. it was a long, involved swear, using every forbidden word possible, often in compound-word form. as adam stared at his lap, penitent, he mused that there was something musical about the ronan when he swore, a careful and loving precision to the way he fit the words together, a black-painted poetry. it was far less hateful sounding than when he didn't swear." ('the raven cycle' by maggie stiefvater)
"but where was god now, with heaven full of astronauts, and the lord overthrown? i miss god. i miss the company of someone utterly loyal. i still don't think of god as my betrayer. the servants of god, yes, but servants by their very nature betray. i miss god who was my friend. i don't even know if god exists, but i do know that if god is your emotional role model, very few human relationships will match up to it. i have an idea that one day it might be possible, i thought once it had become possible, and that glimpse has set me wandering, trying to find the balance between earth and sky. if the servants hadn't rushed in and parted us, i might have been disappointed, might have snatched off the white samite to find a bowl of soup." ('oranges are not the only fruit' by jeanette winterson)

Blacksad: Somewhere In the Shadows Review
Tumblr media
Hello you beautiful people! I have a WEIRD relationship with Noir. It’s weird because i’ve never really dived into the films of type, though I really should, But as a kid I absolutely LOVED the tracer bullet arcs in Calvin and Hobbes, where everyone’s favorite hyperactive and imaginative six year old would plant himself as the hero in a noir pastiche.. ironically like myself Bill Watterson was also not a huge noir buff and just relied on Cliches but hey, it worked.
Tumblr media
Still love these. So from fourth grade on it imprinted a lifelong love of a good bit of detective noir. Not enough to you know, get me to read any traditional noir books or watch any noir tv shows or detective procedurals but I still love a good mystery from time to time and some of my favorite comics such as Howard the Duck by Chip Zdarksy and Peter David’s second run on x-factor run on the genre while having fun with it’s cliches.
I also love anthropormphic animal stories. Dunno why, I just do, so once I found out about Blacksad, a comic that combines disney quality art from a former disney animator with gripping, adult noir that rips your heart out... I couldn’t resisit trying it. Telling the tale of John Blacksad, a cynical private detective and the cases he steps into via gorgeous, straight out of a disney storyboard art, the series is by  Juan Díaz Canales (writer) and Juanjo Guarnido (artist), the latter a former Disney artist who worked on several Disney films, meeting in the 90′s while working on licensed works and hitting it off, leading to this series.  That’s.. really all I could find about the making of the series in English. The only other fact is the series is designed for first release in France, which has a huge comics market, hence the various volumes being called “Albums”, with them later being released in Spain and then english, currently in the latter through Dark Horse Comics, who last year collected the current 5 albums and some side stories into one big volume. And with Dark Horse having infrequent sales including Blacksad on comixology it’s easy enough to pick up all 5 volumes in one complete package on digital for 9 bucks, as it is right now. Seriously I’m not trying to shill for Comixology or Dark Horse, I just love these comics and suggest picking them up. The creators DO intend on new volumes... it’s just both have been busy with other work so they’ve been stuck in development hell since 2013. However given there have always been, if much smaller, the biggest being 5 years, gaps between the Albums, I don’t think the series is dead quite yet and with Dark Horse fully backing it, taking the series from only two volumes getting translated to both translating the first four AND translating the fifth within a year of it’s release, we’ll undoubtly get the next one quickly. The series has also spawned a game, Under the Skin, which i’ll probably also cover some day as i’m dying to play it, but i’m waiting for a sale because it’s around 30 bucks and I can wait. It’s also been nominated for an Eisner three times to no suprise and has had fans in Stan Lee, Jim Steranko, Tim Sale and Will freaking Eisner. Yes the GUY the awards were named after liked the series.  So yeah, I love this series and highly support it, but the thought of covering it hadn’t occrued to me.. in part because I already had three comic retrsopectives going, my looks at The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, Scott Pilgrim and New X-Men, and simply because I just hadn’t thought of it till Kevin, frequent patron and comissioner of the blog whose paid for tons of reivews, suggested covering the second Album, Arctic Nation, which has our hero searching for a missing little girl he feels has been taken by the titular white supramacist movement.. and if your wondering “Wait how the fuck does that work their animals”, John is black coded due to his black fur, while the white suprmacists are all Arctic Animals.. a touch I really like as I’d honestly never thought of that as a metaphor but it fits like a glove, especially given that most white furred arctic mamals are pretty agressive looking. So yeah I’ll be covering that one next month for Black History Month, among many other things, but I felt I wanted to cover the series in order and since again, it’s only the second of five and I had a free space on the schedule. So without further adew, join me somewhere in the shadows and under the cut as we enter the world of one John Blacksad.
Tumblr media
We open as you’d expect for a Noir with a heady narration and a murder. John was brought in by Smirnov, the chief of police and an old aquantice who serves as his Commissioner Gordon. Since the victim is John’s ex, he was brought in to see if he knows anything and as you’d expect warned not to look into it further, as John dosen’t buy this was a simple robbery. His response is exactly what you’d expect.
Tumblr media
I mean.. what did you expect? You called him out of bed to see his former lovers corpse, KNOWING he’s one hell of detective, dosen’t give up on things easy, and would probably be curious. For him to say “Cool gonna go smoke some reefer and take in a looney tunes short at the theater, call me when you find the murderer?” Also  this series takes place in the 50s. Because of course it does.
So John goes back to his office to brood, reflecting that the office feels like the remains of an ancient civlization because “It seems to be all that remains of the civlized person I used to be”. Hell of a line.
We then get his backstory with the victim, Natalia. She’s a famous actress, who John first as a younger man when hired to investgate some death threats she’d received with a boquet of flowers. John shows off just how good he is at his job in just a few panels.
Tumblr media
IT not only shows in just a few panels just how ferocious our hero can be when needed and how good he is at his job, easily having tracked down the man responsible and scared him shitless without breaking as sweat, but how fucking gorgeous the art is. I meant it when I brought up the old disney comparison, as Steranko even mentioned in his introduction to the collection of the first three volumes how it looks like animation cels on the page. IT’s utterly breathtaking and ONLY gets even more lush and beautiful as the series goes on and perfectly fits the noir stylings with it’s realisim, making it’s animal characters feel utterly human and real while still keeping their animal traits in perfect detail.
John impressed her, and as we see in the next page under his narration they not only had really steamy passionate sex, and why yes we do see them naked even if the bits are covered it’s still very much nsfw and we saw Natalia’s naked corpse earlier, so that ship had already sailed anyway, with Natalia taking him on both as her lover and her on staff detective and the two were much in love.. until the fame apparenlty got to her judging from the visuals, and the realtionship fell apart.
Before we move on i’d like to talk about the narration which CAN be a bit overwrought here or there and is a bit overused.. but does have it’s mometns of being utterly effective as with above, contrasting John’s statments about a sucessful job and being hired on.. with the beginnings of his and Natalia’s relationship and their passionate lovemaking. IT’s not BAD and it works for the setting, but it can be distracting, but thankfully the series levels this out as we go and they learned from it so no harm done. Just the kinda thing that happens early in a series life when the creators are getting a handle on things, so no harm done.
But naturally John isn’t going to take the love of his life, responsible for the happiest days of said life, being brutally murdered lying down and is going to find the bastard who did this. So he goes to an old friend, Jake Ositombe, a championship boxer and Nat’s former bodyguard who he recommended to her. Given we see him knock the shit out of his opponent without the slightest effort, yeah good call. Also yes we share the same name and no it’s not weird to type about another Jake, adventure time sorta.. knocked that out of me. Jake dosen’t know much since she fired him a long time ago as one of her lovers hired private security, and the last one he knew of was a guy by the name of Leon.  John, naturally, easily finds the guy’s apartment, Leon Kronkski, a screenwriter.. but also rules him out as the guy lived in a humble apartment and clearly didn’t have the cash to hire his own hired goons.
Tumblr media
He does find a clue, a matchbook for some place called the Cypher Club.. and another when the man’s sweet  mouse landlady shows up, who John charms by pretending to be Leon’s friend and flashing a big smile, finding out a msyterious man with “big bulging eyes”, took him. This scene also to me is great in subtly showing off John’s skill. While the previous flashback showed how badass he is, shoving a gun down the throat of a stalking wannabe murderer with pure rage in his eyes.. here we see a lighter approach, how despite his serious and dour nature.. he easily slips into being cheery and looking like an average joe off the street. He bluffs the landlady not because the plot says so.. but because like any PI he’s just that good at slipping into whatever roll he needs to get the info he needs. He can be his dour self or a charming happy go lucky guy without missing a beat.
Tumblr media
So with that he goes to the studio leon worked for where his boss.. is a walrus j jonah jameson?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But yeah J. Jonah Walruson wants pictures of spider-man.. moving pictures.. but he can’t film them with his star dead and his screenwriter indefintiely gone, with the same bulging eyed man having told JJ he’d be gone indefintely. Nothing suspicious about that!
So naturally John’s next plan is to find the guy.. who is already after him as you’d expect with both a knife to slash at our hero with and the fog covering him so he can hit and run. But unluckily for him .. well i’ll let john say it...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
John  headbutts the myserious snake, who only managed to get his coat before and tries to interogate him.. but gets a quick jab to the gut and the guy gets away.
We soon meet our big bag, who has a big speech about insects and things being usefufl.. and once they stop being useful.. they become dead and collectable, telling the snake man to back off John.. and sending his right hand man to go take care of the Snake who apparently took something from the office. Realizing his numbers up the Snake Man goes to a lizard bar, picks up a package from a friend and runs out the back, knowing he’s being followed.. and we get some hints there’s also racial tension between lizards and mammials here as the bartender, said friend, has the entire bar circle around the guy preventing him from following our mysterious bulging eyed man.
Meanwhile John goes to the Cipher Club, a wretched hive of scum and villiany. Given Nat was a glamorous movie star, it’s very clear she was here to hide from something or someone, and the bartnender, a wild pig.
Tumblr media
No not you sweetie. The wild pig tells John leon was indeed here and a local rat, in both senses of the word, offers to take John to him.. though understandably John is supscious of the guy he just met in a seedy bar taking him anywhere except to get some heroin. Did Heroin exist yet? Questions for later. But he’s got a case so he follows. Though suprisingly the guy DOES actually come through and it’s not ENTIRELY a trap: he takes john to a tomb for Noel Krinsok.. an anagram for Leon’s name. Unsuprisingly he’s dead. And also unsuprisingly, two hired goons
Tumblr media
Show up. As I said not ENTIRELY a trap but it’s obvious given the rat split moments before that our mysterious big bad knew where john would be headed next, and thus while giving him a clue, also set him up to get his head knocked in. And while John is badass.. these guys are a bear and a rhino,  both stronger, bigger, and with suprise on their size, as well as a tombstone to knock john’s head into. They easily beat him senseless and hope he got the message, though john gives a defiant fuck you before being punched out for it. He returns home, feeling like he’s aged 20 years “But no one respects the elderly anymore”, PFFT, and heads home to his rathole, not literally this time, apartment to lay on his cot and think as he gets some rest.
And while the trail for Leon is cold. our mysterious murderer accidently tipped his hand: only someone with a LOT of money and influence could make a man disappear like this, and it tracks with what we’ve seen so far. The guy has multiple henchman and despite being a big star with plenty of clout, Natalia had to hide in a dive bar just to get away from him and even THEN clearly wasn’t so lucky given she and her new lover both wound up dead.  But Blacksad has bigger problems.. he wakes up in a jail cell.
Tumblr media
Turns out Smirnkov had him arrested.. but for his own protection as the case is getting too hot and while he was late on that front given John’s face is hamburger, it’s clear from his tone and demeanor that while he may of been harsh with John earlier.. the two are old friends, and the Chief is simply worried about him winding up dead, and John takes you know being thrown in prison in stride. Which while not a bad scene it is a BIT suspect that a black coded character was thrown in jail for nothing and it’s treated very lightly and as a simple protection between friends, though given they wouldn’t think of coding john like that till next volume, I brush it off as accidental implications in hindsight.
Smirnkov though also called John here.. because he needs his help. Since Natalia’s Murder Case is pointing very high up, so his superiors have ordered him to bury the case and as he puts it “the bastards know where to squeeze”. And given in volume 3 we learn Smirnov has a wife and children, it’s very obvious where they squoze and to the volume’s credit while we don’t know that yet it’s VERY clear from Smirnov’s body language they went after some form of family. So while he has to give it up.. John does not. So he brought him to jail to offer a proposal: John goes after this son of a bitch and nails him to the wall.. and Smirnov will FULLY protect John no matter what he has to do.  Now naturally given the rightful reckoning for police that’s been going on for almost a year, this SHOULDN’T play well. You have an officer outright telling an outside party that he and his boys will cover up his crimes. But.. honestly even in that framework.. it still works. That’s because.. the system has failed here. The higher up and more corrupt cops put pressure on the honest and hardworking family man Smirnov to stop a legitimate investigation into a horrible murderer.. because the guy is rich. And even now we’ve seen time and time again how rich assholes effortlessly escape the consequences of their action: How our own president who actively asked other nations to interfere in our election escaped his first impeachment trial, but hopefully not the second, aquitted. How Jeffery Epstien took YEARS to bring down with his years of ellicit parties involving innocent women and children he fucking enslaved. How Bill Cosby got away with all kinds of sexual assault for decades. The rich are often literally above the law in this country, so having a down on his luck detective, who retroactively himself is a minority, go after him with the full support of an actually GOOD police officer who genuinely believes in these people being held accountable but is held back by his family’s safety.. it works. John isn’t able to skirt consequences BECAUSE of a corrupt system.. but because the system’s so broken and slanted in the rich’s favor, that the ONLY option an honest officer like Smirnov has is to go outside it. And when asked WHY he’s doing all of this, Smirnov merley replies
Tumblr media
... I got chills, their multiplyin. So John plans to find the bulge eyed snake after a hot shower.. only for the guy to hold a gun to John’s head, having been waiting for him and wave the murder weapon, in a baggie around, the item he had retrieved, feeling John’s trying to replace him as number two. However before he can do anything our snake  pal is shot full of holes by the rat from before, who John dispatches with his own gun.
So the Snake starts to expire.. but feels a kinship with John “We are nothing right cat? Spent so much time waiting for the right chance and when it happens it all falls to pieces”. The Snake explains his roll in things: He was one of the private security our big bad hired to guard Natalia. But being supscious he also hired the rat to follow her around, and thus found out about her affair, brutally torturing and murdering Leon and shooting Natalia in the head. And we finally get a name as our snake friend tragically expires.
Tumblr media
The snake’s death and tragic dying moments are something I forgot about.. but damn if their not really good writing, taking a character who before was seemingly just a murderous goon.. and comparing him to our hero. Another working class joe, and one who just caught up with the wrong asshole at the wrong time. He easily could’ve been john in another life and vice vers and it’s a good parallel.
So John’s nightmares finally have  name and he naturally goes to confront the guy since he has an almost literal get out of jail free card. Turns out Smirnov is the richest man in town, and has his own big tower. Huh.. sounds familiar, and John simply sneaks his way up and once Statoc’s guards from before hear him rustling about.. sneaks up on them and clocks both one at at time with a fire extinqusher.
Statoc warmly welcomes our hero inside, and has the fucking lizard balls, as he’s some sort of lizard himself, to offer John a JOB
Tumblr media
I mean he’s clearly lost a lot of his goons and most of them were incompetent. He fails to realize that John can’t be bought, is here for vengeance and has no intention of selling his soul to some rich asshole who killed someone he loved for the creepiest and most asinine reasons imaginable. He says john’s Concisence is why he can’t pull the trigger and that he lacks “cold blood”.. before we cut to the next page, where John’s shot the fucker in the head and left a gaping hole where his lack of a brain was.
And again what makes this work is the aftermath: John is clearly shaken, having ONLY been able to pull the trigger beause of Statoc’s smug grin and clearly not taking the sight of Statoc’s dead body bleeding out well. And while Smirnov keeps his word, covers for him despite the two guards clearly providing an iron clad argument against john and knoiwng thier blatantly covering this up.. he’s not happy about it.
Tumblr media
This is WHY the narrtive still works. Statoc stacked the law against the bad guys. .but despite this being a necessary evil.. it’s still an evil and subverting teh law at this rightly leaves him not in a great place mentally. John himself isn’t even if he plays it off as otherwise, as we get our final bit of narration and one hell of a closing line.
Tumblr media
Final Thoughts:
Somewhere in the Shadows is a bit rough around the edges, leaning a bit too heavily into the noir pastiche and Blacksad being a harboiled detective, something the next volume would ease up on. That being said.. it’s still a masterpiece, with gorgeous art and masterful pacing. While it’s the shortest of the stories, like those after it the pacing is sublime and never feels like it has any down moments or stuff that could’ve been cut, and the mystery keeps you on edge the whole time. Having forgot a lot of the details since last read I was on the edge of my seat the entire story and loving every second of it. Somewhere in the Shadows is the perfect starter for the series, introducing an important charcter in Smirnov and the noir nature and giving us a case personal to John so we can see who he was before, what he is now.. and what he WILL be for the rest of the series. The moment that MADE him into an even harder man than the one we follows here.. when he took a life in cold blood. A masterful story, seriously check it and the other volumes out, on comixology, in stores, great stuff. Next time we look into john and as I said, he’s taking down some racists and we also meet his sidekick weekly for the first time. As for me tommorow I dive back into my Tom Luictor retrospective but hit pause on our boy for a bit to take care of some of the larger plot.   Until the next rainbow, it’s been a pleasure.

Album of the week #2
Comedown Machine
(2013)
By The Strokes
Overall rating: 8.5/10
TL;DR: This album is like your favorite pair of jeans. It looks like all of the other ones you own but something about it feels like home.
Tumblr media
Hey everyone! Sorry this is a few days late but I actually got a concussion the day I was going to write this so I would argue that I have a fair enough excuse. Don't worry I am staying away from screens and I'm really only typing this in 5 minute intervals, meaning I am trying to type as fast as humanly possible. Future me is going to have a field day proofreading.
Anyways, this week's album is Comedown Machine by the Strokes, a band that I definitely should listen to more but haven't fully gotten around to it. I know more of their songs than the average person and have a few of their albums on my phone, but I haven't really fully gone in depth with them like some other bands. I actually already had this album on my phone, which worked out great because I ran out of data this week and could only play downloaded music in my car.
But enough about the interesting week I had, here is my review on The Strokes great 2013 album, Comedown Machine. (Also totally unrelated but I absolutely love the cover? It is just simple enough to not be boring. Reminds me of old vinyl covers and the red makes it really easy to pick out on my phone.)
General Thoughts:
The best way I can describe this album is that it is a very solid vibe the whole way through. It kind of falls into the trap of every song sounding the same, but at least its a good same. When prompted with a title of a song on here I 100% could not tell you what the melody is (minus “Call it Fate Call it Karma”) but there was not a single song on here I didn't like.
The songs in this album have a very detached old energy, that kind of feels like a hug. I kept finding myself coming back to this album as a kind of home, because I know that it would be comforting. A bad day at work? Just listen to this and I'm instantly calmed down. While I usually like variety, what is repeated in this album is so good I can't be mad at it.
Song Breakdown:
I. Tap Out
This song starts out exactly like the intro to my favorite Wii game, Guitar Hero III, so I already liked it without actually hearing what the rest of it sounded like. This song sounds so 2010s indie that I felt like I was living in a John Green book and honestly? I'm not mad at it. Its just mellow enough for my concussed head to vibe along with it but it still has enough of a beat that you can dance to it. The ideal dance would be that one kid vibing in the club with sunglasses. You know the one? I hope you know the one or I sound crazy.
2. All the Time
Okay so this one definitely belongs in a Guitar Hero game. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't been in one yet. Like the last one it makes me feel like I'm in a teen coming of age movie and this is playing in my car as I go on a road trip to “find myself”. Passes the vibe check and is a very solid song.
3. One Way Trigger
This is one of the most, if not the most memorable song in the album, and the one of the only ones that gets stuck in my head. That little riff thingy is super super catchy and repeated enough that you would think it would become annoying, but there is just enough going on that it balances off. I like this one so much that when I was listening to it right before writing this I honestly forgot I was doing a review and was just grooving along. Very very good song.
4. Welcome to Japan
My second favorite on the album babey (you'll see which one is my favorite because it will have a whole love letter written to it). This is definitely a song I want to sit down and learn all the parts on every instrument, tinkering with them until I can get them to sound like the actual song but funkier. The vocals balance goofy and good with thought-provoking lines “what kind of asshole drives a lotus.” The vocals also use a wide range and aren’t just falsetto, thank GOD.
5. 80s Comedown Machine
This song is familiar to the point it is killing me. The main riff is so so so close to something I know but I can’t put my finger on what it is. At first I thought it sounded like the theme song from an old DS game I had as a kid, but after looking up the theme it's not that. It is so familiar sounding the song hurts to listen to because I just feel like I’m missing something. My only guess as to why it sounds so familiar is it sounds like the music used during the climax of The Royal Tenenbaums, it sounds so close that I had to look up the actual soundtrack just to check that the song wasn’t actually there. (The song is actually “Needle in the Hay” by Elliot Smith and while they don’t sound alike they have basically the same vibe to me. Wes Anderson if you need help with soundtracks call me because this song would fit any of your movies.)
6. 50/50
Meh. The songs do all sound the same in this album and this one doesn’t have something about it that makes it stand out in a positive way. The vocals are new I guess, but they just remind me of something out of Scott Pilgrim vs The World so that kind of changes it. Good song that isn’t bad, it’s just not overwhelmingly good.
7. Slow Animals
I really like this one :). Honestly I don’t know what else to say about this one because everything has kind of already been said. All the songs had the same energy so I like them about the same. This one maybe a tad more than the others though. Especially the Waluigi Pinball part.
8. Partners in Crime
This is the only super upbeat song in the entire album and both my regular and concussed brain find it too jarring. Like I was lulled into this false sense of security by calm distortion and layers of vocal harmonies and now that really violent opening riff in this song. I know I’m extra sensitive right now but it’s a no from me.
9. Chances
The teen coming of age movie that is this album is now coming to an end, and this is the song that plays on the car ride home after the climax. It’s dark outside and the bushes and trees are whizzing past, getting more and more familiar as they approach their small hometown. While not my favorite, this song is amazing and sounds especially nice to my concussed brain after the last song.
10. Happy Ending
And now the coming of age movie is over! The main character learned a lesson just before being forced to go off to college in a new town and make all new friends. This song doesn’t have anything that is super different from the others, so all I can say about it is that it was really solid and nice.
11. Call it Fate, Call it Karma
Here is another entry on the “do you ever just want to become a song” list. I want this song to be played around me for the rest of my life. I want to be surrounded in it and put into a stasis pod. Love does not cover what I feel for this song the same way Amazing does not cover how god this song is. The whole album kind of feels like a comforting hug, but this feels like home. It feels like you will be okay and that the world is calm again. My years of music education can’t even break down how it does this, it just does. 50/10, this is the song that made me buy the album. Every part of it is good. Every part.
Final Verdict:
Well I already had this album on my phone, but if I didn’t I would 100% buy it. While individually the songs don’t stand out too much, the album as a whole is something that is worth listening to time and time again. I haven’t listened to many Strokes’ albums the full way through, but as of right now this one is my favorite. A masterpiece of early 2010s alternative rock in my nonexpert opinion.

Yesterday I had an amazing day!
I’m sorry I didn’t post anything since May but I really felt like I didn't had time to post anything and many things happened and I'll try to write the most important things in the other posts and now I'll try to say what happened yesterday.
The day before yesterday my father told me and my brother to got to sleep before midnight so we could wake up early. He wanted to go with us on a trip to Brighton because i wanted a comic from a Graphic Novel Shop that was there near the train station and also go somewhere to eat. Yesterday I woke up at 11 AM and he wanted to go with us on 10 AM… ALRIGHT. He opened our door to our room (i live with my younger brother in the same room in UK) and just said "So we're not going to Brighton?". To which i responded "Hello :>"… I guess he didn't like that because he just closed the doors. I waited in my room scrolling through Reddit on my laptop and seeing the same jokes reused with different images. I saw a meme where someone said the if you add Mr Bean to anything it will automatically become funny. It was so stupid that I felt weird because I wanted to chuckle for a moment when I saw this stupid picture.
Tumblr media
Suddenly 12 AM came on a clock and I decided to dress up. After I did that I went and washed my hair. I think I was washing it for really long because I came out of the bathroom an hour later. I decided to go to the main room.
It’s not living room because it’s too small.
My dad was as always on his phone on Facebook when I came out of bathroom and I told him that I am hungry so I made myself two toasts, one with butter and pate, and the second with pepper cream. I ate them and drank some soda. My stomach hurt because I don’t usually drink sodas. Anyways, my dad told me that we could go together without my younger brother because he's asleep, so we did. My dad bought 4 tickets for us. Each one of us had one for return and one for going onward. My dad was telling me to keep the tickets somewhere like my right back pocket so i won't lose it heh. When we were riding we discussed Poland and UK as well. After the gossip about horror and thriller movies we arrived. First we went on an expedition to find the Graphic Novel Shop to buy me a comic book but so we were walking and walking and… we found it.
(Kinda i did it because my dad was totally lost)
I was broke but my dad had some to buy me a gift up to 20 pounds. I was searching around and found some cool comic books like the ones about Scott Pilgrim and based on D&D. Also i saw the 13th volume of a series called Giant Days which chapters are called troubles.
(I don't know why they call them troubles heh)
After searching for a while i noticed the comic section called LGBT and i wanted to check if something interesting was there AND THERE WAS! I really liked She-Ra and the Princesses Of Power and I noticed a book written by it’s creator Noelle Stevenson which is called The Fire Never Goes Out: A Memoir in Pictures.
Tumblr media
It’s basically her diary but she adds her doodles and thoughts to it. I highly recommend it to anyone and I think I might do a Twitter thread describing my day but that’s not important now and probably won’t happen. I also saw a little comic book that was about tweets from our lovely Donald J. Trump but ilustrated as satirical pictures.
Basically boomer humor.
I showed it to my dad and he told me kindly that he wasn't interested in buying that for himself or for anyone. After that me and my dad came out of the store and we went to get something to eat for dinner but… my dad wanted to buy a bag and something to put a gift in. We were walking around the stores and he was stopping like every 5 SECONDS to check the next store and see if they sell something to put a gift in. We entered the Pride Shop or something like that and I wanted to buy the mug that was on the exhibition which presented Batman and Superman kissing. Also I was looking at the pride flags and pride pins but I didn’t give any signs about them to my dad because I don’t want him yet to know that I’m trans, or I think I am. When my dad was coming to these shops, I was coming with him to some of them, but if I wasn’t I was just standing outside waiting for for. In one of them there was a Moomins Handbag which I really wanted but my dad told me that he only would buy it if it costed up to 3 pounds but it was worth 8 so I didn’t get it… When I left the Moomins Handbag store I heard and saw two goth kids coming right beside me and I only heard them say that the girl in this conversation had a Moomin faze and collected everything related to Moomins…
Does that mean that I’ll become a goth kid as well?
We were looking for a place to eat for a couple of minutes and I noticed a place where last year I saw a dude that was playing drums very nicely and it was cool to listen to him. We didn’t stay there for long because we still went to the restaurant to eat something but before we went there a random lady gave FREE COOKIE ICE CREAM to us! While I was walking I held my book without it’s cover because it’s pink and I don’t really wanna go out with pink stuff because I feel like I am showing too much of my secret side with this color. Me and my dad ate these ice creams before we went inside the restaurant but my dad got angry because instead of physical menu to pick up we had to scan the QR code but he was too much NOT FRIENDS WITH TECHNOLOGY that he just came out of the restaurant and I went after him. We were walking and found a pizzeria that we went to last year and ordered two pizzas. Before we got our pizzas we got plates filled with olives, potatoes with onions and cream, eggplant parts and some weird green vegetable.
(Probably a zucchini slices)
Also I got apple juice with 4 ice cubes in it and my dad got one beer like a dad. We were eating our pizzas peacefully and suddenly something amazing happened. A obese young adult lady with red dyed hair FUCKIN’ stole my pizza and tried to run away… and she did, but one of the stuff workers chased her and saw her coming into another pizzeria and… did the same thing, but the whole thing wasn’t only STEALING MY PIECES but also taking someones pizza slice and throwing it at them, scratching one of the stuff ladies arm and when leaving this pizzeria blocking the exit doors and not letting the stuff member that was chasing her leave the restaurant. Instead of being sad because someone took my pizza I started to laugh under my nose quietly so others wouldn’t notice. My dad only saw my smirk and asked me if I feel alright and I said „I think it’s the most entertainment I had in UK so far”. I think I kinda understand why this woman took MY piece of pizza. It was probably because me and my dad sat on the seats next to the exit so it was easier for the crazy lady to take something that was near exit than at the back of the restaurant. One of the stuff members came and told us „I’m sorry but these FUCKING… I mean stupid people will not bother you anymore”. After that she left with the rest of my pizza and gave me a new one FOR FREE! I ate the one piece and we asked the stuff to help us pack the pizza to take it outside so they gave us a pizza box to take with us. My dad before coming out of the store with me asked the Scratched Girl if everything is fine and she said that it’s just a scratch and also asked where were we from, so my dad said „We’re from Poland” and she said „Well… I’m from Russia”. I have no idea what was the rest of their conversation but my dad made a joke that the EASTERN EUROPE was being attacked. If I was good from history I would make a historical joke or a meme now, but I’m not… so not joke for today. Before we left police came to check if everything was ok, but they weren’t stopping us from leaving so we… left. On the way back we were looking at the city of Brighton and right at the train station my dad checked if he had his train ticket and… IT WAS GONE! My dad started to panic but had an idea how to fix this problem. He took his ticket receipt and tried to show it to the woman that was standing next to the ticket receiver. Surprisingly it worked and we waited for our train. When our train came my dad wasn’t sure if it was the right one so he asked me to ask the conductor if we’re in the right one and he said that we were in a right one.
TONGUE TWISTER
When we were heading back to Hastings I decided to start reading Noelle’s book. It was very touching and nice to read. When we arrived to Hastings I was on the 132nd page and I had to close it for a moment and when we came back home I needed to use a toilet and also I used this situation so I could continue reading this amazing book. I finished the entire 194 paged book in a day but everyone probably would do that. After finishing reading it I wanted to tell my friends about my day because I think it was great. After telling some of my friends how was my day I decided to eat my supper and watch with my dad the second episode of Beastars. My dad did like this episode and the whole show. We watched it because we made a small tradition while I am in UK. One day I read one chapter of one of my Warrior Cats books, and the other day we watch a singe episode of Beastars. After all of that I decided to sit and write my day down as a Tumblr Blog post.
Thank you for reading my summery of my day. 08.08 was an amazing day I probably won’t forget because of this post and maybe because I told my friends about this. As I said I'll try to post tomorrow how my other days have been because there’s so much stuff I wanna get off my chest.

Goodbye World
July 1st 2022 (305)
This should be fun.
The day is finally here. I wake up quite early in the morning, so I can meet a friend near by, and get a magician's robe borrowed from them. (As a side note, I took those shine-in-the-dark boots, as well as some fishnet stockings under the robe, it really felt nice, I have to admit, I just wish I were a tad more confident)
Tonight a party of medieval intent, and fun attires shall take place.
I do some chores and try to fall asleep during the day, to recover the early awakening, and to be ready for the night.
I intent to meet a friend in a bus stop near by, as the other one I personally invited will arrive later that night.
I'm there, it's all nice and dandy, some of my friends are not here yet, it seems the rain has startled them a bit. We are all subdivided in tiny groups, one chatting on the kitchen, one chatting on the living room, a smaller one, chatting in the patio.
Eventually my friends arrived, so we go for some alcoholic beverages to a コンビニ around the street. Later I will go out once more, to catch my other friend in that same bus stop, and to buy more beverages, in that same コンビニ.
I got tipsy quite easily, not going to lie, yet somehow my motor skills rarely seem to hinder, quite the opposite, they readjust at every moment. For example, I saw a big framed painting fall, and I grabbed it mid-air, later I would discuss about this same picture, for it didn't quite looks like a Monet to me... At the end it seemed to be a more opaque rendition of Monet's Water Lilies (at least one of the two-hundred and fifty oil paintings that comprise his "Water Lilies" collection), so we took it as a tie.
The pary was nice, charcuterie and boneless wings, nachos and beer pong (not with actual beer, but colorful shots of liquor), a variety of popular songs coming from a grandiose speaker. Everybody was dressed the part. I was inquired about my robe, for many said it was fantastical, yet not exactly medieval. They are probably right, but that was all I could get.
At some point, while I was drunk, I found myself (I think) on a little discussion with my ex. I told her I had no animosity towards her, quite the opposite, I just wanted my Scott Pilgrim comic books back. (I doubt this scene slightly, for I have been thinking about this plausible scenario all through the day) my friend stepped in to act as a mediator, they are to collect said comics, and a cape I have, so they can cross-deliver them to their respective owners. I truly hope she is doing well, and she continues to do so, even if I can't see her success up close.
Will end up with a couple highlights.
I was a very heart-to-heart moment with a girl friend. I was able to fully come out to her, and she was really supportive, that really made me feel enormously happy. I was all worried, telling her how I'm afraid my family would react (I think adversely) if they knew. She calmed me down and told me not to worry: "We will be here for you. We will be your family." I could not contain the tears. There are very few people that know about it. I trust them and I love them deeply. I am thankful for their existence, and that they choose to share it with me.
Now closing, on a less wholesome topic, I met two gorgeous, funny and kind girls, we were all chatting and dancing, partying up and down, at some point, which I didn't realize was happening (untill, well, it was happening), we three started kissing, I believe this to be only the second time in my life I've been in such a situation. It was truly amazing, we all got each other's backs (and sometimes even more), I could feel the heat filling up my body, our muscles contracting and relaxing, synced to an hypnotic rhythm. Our voices murmuring, and breaking that one beat to say "come here".
Later down the night, I was chatting with a boy I've been texting to for a while, he is not the most constant person, but we met a while back, we share similar interests and seem to be attracted to each other. We keep going back and forth untill we kissed. It was nice, way more cute than passionate, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. At some point in the morning I was helping him get a cab back home, those car apps were quite lacking, but at the end he got back home safe and sound.
The night ended amidst songs and a handful of still awake people. The sun will rise soon, we'll meet again soon, I'll write again soon.
~Roses~

If you are curious about Monet's painting. My memory helped me so far as to know is this. Yet internet couldn't help me to figure out a number or subtitle, unlike other pictures in said series.

Ask meme 29-76
29. What's the worst thing I've ever done?
This is a loaded question. I can't really separate how objectively bad a thing was from how bad I felt about doing it afterwards. One time I insulted my mum's job. Another time I played hide and seek so well (and thoughtlessly) that my parents thought I'd run away from home while a national holiday party was going on in the streets. Two times I've lost my temper with a really good friend - that's how I discovered I'm a sore loser playing Magic: the Gathering.
30. What's my favourite candle scent?
Green Apple. (You can buy those at IKEA).
31/2. Three favourite boy/girl names?
I don't plan on having kids, and even if I did they still probably wouldn't be called Fletcher, Algernon, James, Matilda, Sarah, or Ruth.
33/4. Favourite actor/actress?
Simon Pegg, and... Stephanie Beatriz.
35. Who is my celebrity crush?
Evanna Lynch. Also my girlfriend and I crush on Stephanie Beatriz a little bit together.
36. Favourite movie?
Hot Fuzz or Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
37. Do I read a lot? What's my favourite book?
I read quite a bit, but not as much as I'd like. My favourite book is Feet of Clay by Terry Pratchett.
38. Money or brains?
Brains, so long as the money is moderate enough to live on. If not, then... still brains but I'm suffering a lot more.
39. Do I have a nickname?
Not really, just a short form of my name.
40. How many times have I been to the hospital?
Twice. Once for croop, once for stabbing myself in the hand. Not counting the dozen or so times I went for nonemergency wisdom teeth removal and botox injections.
41. Top 10 favourite songs
Girl Panic!, Rio, and Ordinary World, by Duran Duran,
The Poet and the Pendulum, Our Decades in the Sun, and A Shudder Before the Beautiful, by Nightwish,
Midnight and Violet Hill, by Coldplay
Foil, by Weird Al Yankovic
Bette Davis Eyes, by Kim Carnes.
42. Do I take daily medications?
God no. I took fish oil once a day for years, and NEVER AGAIN.
43. What's my skin type?
Right now? Sunburnt. My girlfriend says "smooth".
44. What's my biggest fear?
Being forgotten by everyone as soon as I leave their company. I naturally assume nobody is thinking about me unless I am right there in the room with them.
45. How many kids do I want?
0.
46. What's my go-to hairstyle?
Random - whatever my post-shower hair towelling routine throws at me.
47. What type of house do I live in?
2-bedroom apartment.
48. Who is my role model?
@poorpoorpitifulme probably.
49. What was the last compliment I received?
"You're the best boyfriend" 😊
50. What was the last text I sent?
Me making arrangements for Christmas morning with my mum. Mum thought 11am counted as "bright and early".
51. How old was I when I found out Santa wasn't real?
Maybe 9? I don't remember. I kept leaving out mince pies (for "Santa") and carrots (for "the reindeer") long after I found out, just because it was fun.
52. What's my dream car?
I don't have one. My parents used to own a lovely convertible BMW though.
53. Opinion on smoking?
Hate it. Even more so now that I have a girlfriend, who's asthmatic.
54. Do I go to college?
Yes (though in Australia we just call it "university"). Hopefully, next year is my last one!
55. What is my dream job?
Another loaded question! I would love to be a lab technician, or a researcher.
56. Would I rather live in rural areas or suburbs?
Suburbs.
57. Do I take shampoo and conditioner bottles from hotels?
Not really, no. I almost never go to those sorts of hotels anymore.
58. Do I have freckles?
Yes! Mostly on my shoulders, actually.
59. Do I smile for pictures?
Yes, though I often look like I'm about to murder someone.
60. How many pictures do I have on my phone?
According to the internal metrics... 1755.
61. Have I ever peed in the woods?
Yes. And you would not BELIEVE what the bear next to me was doing...
62. Do I still watch cartoons?
I mean... sort of. Not new cartoons. Mostly just Avatar: The Last Airbender and so on.
63. Do I prefer McDonalds or Wendy's chicken nuggets?
McDonalds wins, by virtue of "We don't really have Wendy's in Australia".
64. Favourite dipping sauce?
Garlic aioli. (Also a good general-purpose sauce)
65. What do I wear to bed?
Nothing. Blame a bout of chicken pox I had when I was 11.
66. Have I ever won a spelling bee?
I have never participated in one.
67. What are my hobbies?
A very narrow selection of video games. I also like to write, play Magic, play D&D, read books, listen to music, listen to books, and read music.
(For real though, I should play the piano more often)
68. Can I draw?
Hahahahaha, hell no.
69. Do I play an instrument?
I am a severely out-of-practice pianist.
70. What was the last concert I saw?
Tim Minchin on the Opera House steps.
71. Tea or coffee?
Tea. I don't usually like it, but I will concede that it at least has some flavours aside from tea-flavour that I am able to tolerate.
72. Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts?
Again, Starbucks wins because Australia doesn't have Dunkin Donuts.
73. Do I want to get married?
No. I would, however, like to spend the rest of my life with someone. Is that the same thing?
74. What is my crush's first and last initial?
I have so many crushes, let me just...
BTECPBJLLA
75. Am I going to change my last name when I get married?
>when
76. What colour looks best on me?
Navy blue.

that movie people keep talking about: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
Tumblr media
I don’t normally talk about shows/movies I dislike on this blog- this is the fourth time I’ve done so (and counting?). I’m not sure if I’d even go as far to say that I disliked To All the Boys I Loved Before. I just don’t think it was that good.
One of the first things I noticed while watching this movie was that the pacing, particularly in comedic scenes, was really awkward. The jokes themselves were fine, but because the pacing was off a lot of it missed. Something along with this would be the acting- man the acting just didn’t deliver in this film. There were a lot of scenes I felt like the actors weren’t even trying.
As for the characters themselves...I didn’t like the love interest: I think the movie was going for the charismatic asshole kind of character but he wasn’t all that funny or charismatic; he just came across as dislikable. And the older sister’s ex-boyfriend OH MY GOD was he a dislikable character. Whenever he showed up in a scene I internally sighed. The rest of the characters were just kind of...meh.
Now to the real meat of the movie- the romance! How was the actual romance element in the movie? Eeeeh it was pretty average if not a little below average. There isn’t a lot of chemistry between the two love interests and I think the film was aware of this considering how much emphasis was put on how ‘oh they actually have quite a bit in common’ and ‘wow they’re the only person they’re willing to share this stuff with’ and while yes, these are things that are useful in making friendships and romantic relationships-if there isn’t chemistry it’s hard to believe that the characters actually get along or have fun together. When the main character’s friend told her she seemed happier since she started “dating” the guy I didn’t...buy it? Like I didn’t see that development myself- but I guess I was supposed to believe it because one of the characters said so.
Yikes, I’m being pretty harsh, aren't I? I think a lot of it roots from that I see this movie as a bit of a missed opportunity. I really liked the premise- the idea of a girl’s love letters she’d written for the five guys she’s fallen for in her life getting “accidentally”  sent to all of them is really funny and cute! I think if the movie would have used this premise in a way more similar to Scott Pilgrim vs the Universe that it would’ve been SO INTERESTING. But instead, the movie completely forgets about the letters for the most part and follows a much more boring and basic fake dating storyline. I just… there was so much fun to be had with the letters getting released! Her avoiding confrontation from the guys WHILE she was fake dating one of them, her trying to find out who sent the letters in the first place (seriously, why didn’t this cross her mind), maybe one of the guys gaining interest in her all over again through the letter- I mean if a childhood crush of mine from sixth grade sent me a letter today then I think I would 1) want to ask them about it and 2) quite frankly, be a little endeared. They really missed out and it fucking eats at me.
Another reason I probably came so hard for this movies is because it’s been all over my twitter timeline. And my twitter is a bhna stan account so I REALLY don’t know how it kept getting there, but because of this, I was expecting a little more I guess.
That’s kind of all I have to say about the movie. I honestly didn’t dislike the movie, I just...wanted more? I’m gonna start repeating myself if I go on.
If your interested in seeing the other blog posts I’ve made bashing a tv show/movie then here they are lol:
-Me going on a huge ass rant about How I Met Your Mother: I wrote this like three years ago so my writing isn’t what is now so you’ve been warned. And for some reason I was comparing the show to a book I read around the same time called This is How You Lose Her? I don’t even know why jjjjnkb.
-In this post I talk about two movies: one which I loved (500 Days of Summer) and the other I disliked (While You Were Sleeping).
-Another blog post of me talking about a shitty movie. It’s How to be Single- I don’t think anyone even remembers this one lol.
-Okay so I sort of snapped in this post where I was talking about the final few chapters in  Nisekoi, but I wouldn’t say I bashed it.

Get To Know Me
Your character can only pass once. All questions must be answered in character. Pass it along!
1. Full name?
Reid Tomah Mellark
2. Height?
5’10”. Sorry ladies, I missed the 6’ mark.
3. Favorite hobby?
Baking. Thanks dad. Drunk Mario Kart is another love of mine. Can’t thank him for that one though.
4. Favorite animal?
The elusive Jerbear
5. Favorite movie?
Scott Pilgrim vs The World. It’s always fun to watch.
6. Favorite book?
I think I’m more of a comics guy.
7. Big party or small gathering?
I don’t mind a big party, but I’m more socially inept than I think so I do better at small gatherings.
8. Indoors or outdoors?
I guess indoors. Twelve is just 75% forest and the other 25% is coal and my dead great grandparents.
9. Unknown/special talent?
I can play piano. I got bored and taught myself. Anyone wanna hear the acoustic version of Africa by Toto?
10. Question you’ve always wondered?
Do you think I’m cute?
11. Eye color?
Grey. It’s the only thing my dad and I don’t have in common.
12. Any body modifications, injuries or tattoos?
None yet, but I sense a drunk tattoo in my future.
13. Any languages you know?
English. I wish I had the dedication to learn another though.
14. Last time you cried?
I had a busy day at the bakery last week, stubbed my toe, and it threw me over the edge. I spent fifteen minutes crying in the back like a man.
15. What pisses you off more than anything else?
People who aren’t down to clown. Things don’t always have to be so serious, and it’s good to make light of the bad sometimes.
16. Best smell in the world?
Freshly baked bread still gets me. You think I’d be tired of it, but it just holds so many memories.
17. Cats or dogs?
Definitely dogs. They’re just always so happy and loyal.
18. If you ran the world, what is one thing you would make a law?
I’m not sure. I’d probably dick around and create stupid holidays. I just want someone to wish me a happy National Tiddy Day or something.
19. Brains or beauty?
I have neither so it would be hypocritical of me to answer.
20. If you could spend the night with anyone in the world, who would it be?
He knows who he is.
21. Summer of winter?
Summer. Winter here can get brutal.
22. Pet peeve?
Probably most things Orion does.
23. One thing you would change about yourself?
If I get into this one, I’ll have to go back and change my “last time I cried” response.
24. If I had a million dollars..?
I’d probably do something for the people in Twelve. There’s still so many people who break their backs everyday here, and they deserve it more than I do.
25. The most private thing I’m willing to admit is..?
I can get pretty lonely. I need to buy one of those boyfriend pillows or something.

John’s Top 10 Movies of 2017
So here we are, another year in the books.  Let’s take a moment to put out another list among thousands and thousands of lists.  If you don’t agree, you can start your own blog.  Maybe you’ll be better at providing content on a regular basis than I am.
HONORABLE MENTION: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (December 15)
I can’t rank a Star Wars film in good conscience, especially one as polarizing as this one.  It was a great film (The Star Wars Nothing But Star Wars Retrospective will continue soon, trust me), but I still believe that the Star Wars saga is its own thing altogether that has managed to transcend its medium, yadda yadda yadda, pretentiousness.  So it takes the honorable mention in this list.
HONORABLE MENTION II: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO: The Disaster Artist (December 9)
I’ve put this as an honorable mention because, being the die-hard fan of The Room that I am, it’s the one movie I desperately wanted to see this year, but as of press time, I have not yet made it to see it.  First, it took forever for any of my local theaters to show it.  Then, there was a one-two punch of Christmas and a death in the family when it finally graced the tri-state area with its presence.  Then this weekend, my car broke down and no one would drive me.  Seriously, someone up there does not want me to see this fucking movie.
10. Power Rangers (March 22)
This film was a very welcome surprise.  With such a beloved franchise, a reboot could only end in disaster.  And yet, it was a fun, refreshing, character-driven film that even non-fans, like myself, can enjoy.  I just wish that it could somehow get a sequel.
9. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (May 5)
I’ll admit, this one wasn’t as good as the first one.  It had its moments, like the Mr. Blue Sky opening (because I just can’t quit ELO), Ego’s big reveal, and the heartbreaking finale, but some of the jokes outstayed their welcome and weren’t as funny as the jokes from the original.  However, my opinion changed after I watched Lindsay Ellis’ wonderful essay on the film.  Give it a watch.
8. Kong: Skull Island (March 10)
So many studios have tried to replicate the lightning of a bottle that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Universal had its Dark Universe, which has had three different starting points, and none of them stuck.  Warner Bros.’ DC universe is barely a success in box office numbers alone.  And then there’s Legendary Entertainment’s MonsterVerse, which hit the ground running with 2014’s Godzilla, and followed that up with a damn good King Kong movie.  Kong’s first scene is terrifying, as is Samuel L. Jackson’s Captain Ahab-esque character who will not stop until Kong is dead.  2019’s Godzilla: King of The Monsters cannot come soon enough.
7. Thor: Ragnarok (November 3)
This film was an absolute delight.  It’s deliciously funny, there are some scenes that appear to come straight from the pen of Marvel legend Jack Kirby, and other scenes that are just begging to be painted on the side of a ‘70s panel van.  This one has to be the best Marvel film of 2017 hands down, with maybe Spider-Man Homecoming coming close.  That scene in the car with Peter and Vulture/Batman/Birdman, though.
6. IT (September 8)
IT was probably the first horror movie I’ve actually watched in theaters, and to be honest, it’s probably the best one I’ve seen that didn’t come out in the ‘80s.  Bill Skarsgård is ridiculous and terrifying in equal measure as Pennywise, even though I still hope that should I ever come across a clown hiding in the sewer, it’s Tim Curry.
5. Logan (March 3)
This is the solo Wolverine movie that fans wanted to see.  It’s gory, it’s brutal, it’s thrilling, it’s heartbreaking to watch, and of course, the perfect swan song for two iconic performances: Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.  Third time’s the charm, eh?
4. Dunkirk (July 21)
I made a mistake this year in not seeing Dunkirk on the big screen.  It demands to be seen in IMAX with the best sound system money can buy, especially when it comes to the dogfight scenes.  Being a World War II airplane nerd, seeing those Spitfires and hearing those Rolls Royce Merlin engines (“The sweetest sound you could hear out there,” a character remarks) in those well-shot and choreographed fight scenes make it worth the astronomical price of admission.  Or at least, I’d think so.
3. Logan Lucky (August 18)
This was another welcome surprise for me.  It’s probably one of the funniest movies of the year, with show-stopping moments like the warden arguing with the prison inmates over the perpetually-delayed final books of the A Song of Ice And Fire series or Daniel Craig’s character stopping the heist in its tracks to give a chemistry lesson on how gummy bears, a bleach pen and imitation salt can make an improvised explosive device.  However, I cannot suggest that you try this at home. Also, this year must’ve been really good for John Denver’s estate.  How many movies can you possibly shove “Take Me Home, Country Roads” into?
2. Blade Runner 2049 (October 7)
This film should not work.  A sequel to one of the most beloved sci-fi movies of all time made 35 years after the fact shouldn’t be the masterpiece that it is.  And yet, Denis Villeneuve and his cast and crew managed to pull it off.  It’s as beautiful to look at, as enigmatic, and sadly, as much of a financial heartbreaker as the original.  Seriously, I haven’t been as personally hurt by a film’s underperformance at the box office since Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.
And our Number One: Baby Driver (June 28)
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, If It’s Edgar Wright, You Can’t Go Wrong.  Spacey be damned, this film is another masterpiece by a director that has long been my favorite living director and my second all-time favorite, next to Kubrick, of course.  The soundtrack, the editing, the stunts, all top-notch.  On a more personal note, outside of a wonderful trip to Chicago, my summer had been a depressing trainwreck.  I bashed my eye against an endtable moving out of my college dorm, my grandmother died, I couldn’t find a job, it was a mess.  Then I went and saw Baby Driver.  When I saw the Bellbottoms Chase for the first time, it made me happier than I’d been in a while.  So thanks, Edgar.  Whatever you’ve got planned next, I’ll be in line day one.

My Top 10 Favourite Movies Part 1 (10 to 6)
I always find it hard to answer the question ‘What’s your favourite movie?” Because it’s so dependant on my mood or what criteria I’m judging it against, but I get it - people want some kind of insight into you and the movie you love will probably give them a bit of that. So this is my top 10 which kind of cover the run of different kinds of movies I love for very different reasons.
10. Gone with the Wind Yeah, this movie is problematic. There is no denying that, like it’s source material, it tries to put a ‘kind’ face on slavery and glamorises the south. But here’s my story, when I was 16 I went to boarding school and I was not exactly the most confident or pretty of the girls so I tended to be a little invisible, people didn’t dislike me but a lot of the time they just sorta forgot I was there. Sunday was our one free day of the week with no lessons and whilst everybody else used it to socialise I used it as my time to be alone and recharge. I’d camp out in the TV room that rarely got used except when big sports events were on - I’d take a book, a film, a mug and a load of tea bags (the kitchen was just next door!). A lot of the time that film was Gone with the Wind - Scarlett O’Hara was everything I wasn’t she was the centre of attention, she always knew what to say, she focused on her goals and didn’t really mind who she had to used to achieve them. I loved her and whilst I didn’t condone everything she did I did find myself practising some of her looks in the mirror.
9. 300 Zac Snyder’s style has taken a fair bit of probably reasonable criticism, but for me in 300 it really worked. Whilst there is some loose historical fact behind 300 it’s not meant to be accurate - it perfectly captures graphic novel style in the medium of film, something which Scott Pilgrim also manages in a different way but which a lot of films have failed to achieve. It is also being told as a story within the story in order to amp up some troops for battle so ya know its supposed to be a bit out there and exaggerated. I think its beautifully shot and paced and I like the overall message. These men didn’t think they were going to win, they knew they didn’t have the numbers, but in the face of something they saw as unreasonable they stood up anyway in the hope that there story would lead others to fight and ultimately win where they alone couldn’t. Also, Lena Headey is killing it as always.
8. Little Women (1994 version) Little Women was one of the first ‘grown-up’ books I read and I fell in love basically from the first page. I’ve seen three versions of this film and love different things about each of them, and whilst June Allyson will always be my favourite Jo on balance I think the 1994 version is the best overall film. This is for several reasons; I think Susan Sarandon is excellent, I think they handle the growing romances of Amy/Laurie and Jo/Fredrich much better and perhaps most importantly I love the score to this movie. It’s so perfect sometimes I just listen to it and it conjures up all the emotions of the film for me. I watched this film so many times when I was younger I think everyone else in my household was ready to die of boredom but I was constantly enraptured by it. I can even forgive them for prettying up some of the characters who weren’t quite so written.
7. A Muppet’s Christmas Carol Here’s a thing about me, I love Christmas as much now as I did as a child. I shamelessly buy into all the commercialism; I love the lights, the present buying, the mulled wines and ciders, I bake mince pies and gingerbread, have a Christmas songs playlist and watch tonnes of Christmas films. And I’m not sure there has been a year since it came out in 1992 when I haven’t watched the Muppet’s Christmas Carol. I think the mixture of human to Muppet characters is perfect, the songs are excellent (It feels like Christmas being a personal fave of mine) and the mixture of laughter and sadness is just right. I’ve seen this film so many times I could probably perform the whole thing solo. But I don’t think there will ever be a Christmas when I don’t sit down and watch it.
6 Kuch Kuch Hota Hai I come from a mixed race family and whilst I never learnt Hindi I did watch a lot of Hindi films when I was younger. I’m a sucker for catchy songs and gut punching emotion so Bollywood in the late 90s/early 00s was kinda made for me. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was definitely my favourite and the one I would encourage anyone who has never seen a Bollywood film before to watch. It’s a great entry point, it’s colourful, the songs will draw you in and the story is not overly complicated but the characters are well drawn. It’s so super 90s and more than a little bit over the top but I challenge anyone not to have a good time. There is a song called Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aaye from when one of the characters finds out the person she loves is in love with someone else that made me cry then and makes me cry every damn time I hear it.
So that’s 10 through to 6. I will follow up with part 2 later and do 5 through to the number 1 spot.

ye olde tag game
I was tagged by @got7peaches and I want to know if you came up with the title
(I think this was supposed to be fun and light but it ended up going to a really deep and verbose place so I’m putting it under the cut)
not tagging anyone cuz no one should have to read this lololol fml
how tall are you? 5′6″ and I’m not a fan... short people are cuter what color and style is your hair? red and long and curly what color are your eyes? they’re blue around the edges and green around the pupil and I know that sounds like a description straight out of “my immortal” but no I’m not making this up do you wear glasses or contacts? both but I prefer glasses do you wear braces? never have never will what is your fashion style? I don’t think I really have a “style.” That would require more money than I am willing to spend on clothes. But I love everything Claire wears so... if I could afford Claire’s style and pull it off I would dress like her when were you born? October 22 (burn this date in your mind) how old are you? 24 do you have any siblings? 2 brothers, one older one younger what school/college do you go to? this seems like tmi so I’ll just say I’m in nursing school (as if everyone didn’t know that already I never shut up about it) what kind of student are you? the worst. I’m that asshole who puts in 10% effort and turns in everything late and somehow still does ok what are your favorite subjects? anatomy was super fun (the human body is weird and amazing) but I think my favorite class I’ve ever taken was formal logic (it’s the satisfaction of completing mathematical equations with none of the actual math) what are your favorite shows? 30 rock, parks and rec, the office, community, scrubs... basically good sitcoms with 5+ seasons. I’m also a slut for reality tv (dance moms anyone?) and competition shows (great british bake-off what whaaat) what are your favorite movies? the one I always pick when I have to pick just one is when harry met sally but I am a huge cinephile and I have dozens of favorites so if you’re looking for a movie rec hmu what are your favorite books? my book choices are a lil outdated cuz all I read is fanfic lately lololol but old OLD faves are hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy, the giver, ready player one, and the hunger games series what are your favorite past times? my favorite past time is collecting past times, getting decently good at them, and then abandoning them. I’ve taught myself to play the ukulele, painting and drawing, niche board games, pottery, baking, the basics of a few languages, and a few video games here and there. The only hobbies that I’ve done consistently for several years are knitting, watching movies (specifically going to the movie theater because you can’t beat that atmosphere tbh), and writing (mostly fanfiction; I haven’t written anything original since high school). do you have any regrets? I wish I had never gone to the second university I attended... I basically wasted three years of my life in a hick town. I was miserable but I learned a lot about myself and also a lot about people and how to not be a shitty one so I guess it wasn’t a total waste. It sure felt like it though. what is your dream job? I wish I had the self-confidence to be a fiction writer full time. If I really worked hard at developing original concepts, I think I could be pretty good at it. Plus I would never have to leave my apartment and I could wear sweatpants 24/7, which is the real dream, let’s be real would you like to get married? where? I kind of flip flop on this one... sometimes I think I’d like it but then again I’m such a loner that I think I would suck at marriage sooo... my brother says I need to find someone who is as smart as me but total shit at something I’m good at, so I can take care of them and feel needed. I don’t know that marriage necessarily needs to be involved... Plus if I ever did get married I’d prob elop or only invite my immediate family sooooo do you want kids? how many? I don’t think I’d want to create life but I’d be 100% down for adopting... then again when my celeb crushes say they want kids I’m all I VOLUNTEER so who can say do you like shopping? If I magically come into extra income then yes. If I’m on a budget, shopping for something I need is like torture. The exception is always make-up/skincare. I buy myself new make-up when I’m sad. how many countries have you visited? 7, all of them European, but one of them was just for a day so I feel like it doesn’t really count. I really want to visit some Asian countries, though. what was your scariest dream? The scariest one that comes to mind was being locked in an office building with office workers and there was a serial killer-type guy in a jigsaw mask who kept turning the lights off and abducting people one by one and disfiguring their faces. No fuckin clue where that came from tbh. I’ve never even seen Saw. do you have any enemies? I’d like to think I don’t? I try really hard to treat everyone well regardless of how they treat me because I like being liked... but honestly there are a few people who hate my guts and won’t meet me halfway to reconcile sooooo yes, I guess I do. I don’t hold it against them, though. If they ever took a moment to see things from my point of view they would realize that I never meant them any harm and I’m just a flawed person, trying my best. But apologies don’t go very far with people who like to hold grudges and feel like the world is against them, so I can’t do anything about that. do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend? I don’t have the energy for that. Right now, having a S/O sounds kind of terrible actually lmao they’re so much work
THIS GOT HELLA LONG I’M SORRY BLAME CLAIRE
Put your music on shuffle and list the first fifteen songs without skipping:
We Hate You Please Die - Crash and the Boys (Scott Pilgrim anyone? no? ok)
Amsterdam - Imagine Dragons (I downloaded the whole album bc I liked Radioactive but I’ve never actually listened to this song)
Green Onions - Booker T & The MG’s (idk don’t ask)
The Curse of Curves - Cute Is What We Aim For (a one hit wonder but I still know every word to this song)
All Alright - Fun.
Classic Rock Medley - The Cat’s Pajamas (a local acapella group from my high school days)
Bellas Final - the Pitch Perfect Soundtrack (ok this plus the last one is making it seem like I’m obsessed with acapella I’m really not)
East West - Herman’s Hermits (...I actually love this band don’t judge me)
Here It Goes Again - Ok Go (say what you will about the song but that video with the treadmills was iconic)
20 Dollar Nose Bleed - Fall Out Boy
Sims Holidaze - The Sims 2 Bon Voyage (I may or may not have the entire collected Sims soundtrack on my ipod...)
Lesson 4 Pronunciation - Rosetta Stone Italian Level 3 (Remember when I was fluent in Italian? yeah me neither)
Whistle (Acoustic) -Blackpink (I like the original better)
Come So Far (Got So Far To Go) - Hairspray soundtrack (ok but this whole soundtrack is a bop I forgot I used to love this)
Mowgli’s Road - Marina & the Diamonds
What have we learned? That hitting shuffle is not at all indicative of a person’s taste in music, but instead exposes their sordid musical past.

get to know the blogger
so, I just wanna do this because I feel like telling more about myself today because maybe some followers of mine want to know more... dunno, hope you don’t mind it. I’ll add a read more just to shorten things up. Here’s the link for the original post.
1. If you didn't have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time? That sounds awful but maybe work harder? Write more, work out, improve myself? or maybe just nextflix and eat lel.
2. What is your favorite piece of clothing you own / owned? I love t-shirts but my favourite right now is this panda hodie I have that have a hole for my thumb on each sleeve, it’s pretty cute.
3. What hobby would you pick up if time & money weren't an issue? Dancing. I already play the guitar, write and do a bunch of art and editing stuffs but I’ve always wanted to learn how to dance, seems fun. I’ll try it soon.
4. What does your perfect room look like? My room’s pretty nice now but I’d like a room on the attic or something with some big ass window so the sun is always shinning through it, a small ladder to climb onto the roof, plants, one of those mattresses on the floors instead of a bed, a nice and clean bookshelf... something nice and peaceful.
5. How often do you play sports? That’s a good joke.
6. What fictional place would you like to visit? All of them? I wanna be a wizard tho... maybe Hogwarts.
7. What job would you be terrible at? Client support, telemarketing and anything that will make me deal with annoying shitheads being stupid.
8. When was the last time you climbed a tree? God, dunno... when I was really young? I should climb more trees...
9. If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a medal for? Eating chocolate. Running away from crowded places. The Olympic metal for the one that’s always late, but I’d never show up to get my gold metal.
10. What is the most annoying habit that you or other people have? I have the worst habit of overthinking and putting other’s needs in front of mine and some people have the habit of taking advantage of my bad habits.
11. What job do you think you'd be really good at? I have no idea, I usually think I’m pretty bad at everything but I would be really good at sitting in the office doing my job and minding my own business but anyone could do that.
12. What skill would you like to master? WITCHCRAFT! Just kidding, I wanna kill it on the dance floor and draw well.
13. What would be the most amazing adventure to go on? Realistically it would be really nice to just leave any worries behind, drive for as long as you want and then explore that place for a day or two. My parents and I did that when I was really young but they stopped wanting those type of trips, now they plan everything. But fictionally, imagine a land full of mystical beings who are friendly with anything and everyone. That would be the best.
14. If you had unlimited funds to build a house to live on for the rest of your life, what would the finished house look like? Something rustic. I like nature and plants so maybe a simple house with a nice front porch with a few plants I can take care off and stuffs.
15. What's your favorite drink? Lemon Iced Tea from Lipton. I used to drink 2L of that a day! Now I can’t drink it. lel
16. What state or country do you never want to go back to? I’ve only been to Spain and I live in Portugal... but I’d really like to go back to Porto, it’s so awesome.
17. What songs do you have completely memorized? All of them. Every single one.
18. What game or movie universe would you like to live in? Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Imagine bumping into one of your friends playfully and accidentally starting a battle.
19. What do you consider to be your best find? I don’t understand this question but I’ve found some pretty neat rocks.
20. Are you usually early or late? Late.
21. What pets did you have when you were growing up? I had a dog for about 15 years that died about 2 years ago and a cat that didn’t live that long and died way earlier than the dog because of cancer. Now I have about 6 or 7 cats and 1 dog so...
22. When people come to you for help, what do they usually need help with? Advice, editing, creating a logo, photoshoots, music classes for kids, playing some concerts, a one night stand... Shall I continue? People ask me for a lot of shit.
23. What takes up too much of your time? Breathing and writing.
24. What do you wish you knew more about? Some cultures that I know very little about. Recently I’ve been looking into Japanese and Korean cultures but I’m very uncertain about what I’ve learn and I’d like to know a lot more about Indian culture, Chinese culture and any African culture because I know nothing about them. If you know anything about or are part of any cultures at all then please teach me. I am actually asking you.
25. What would be your first question after waking up from being frozen for 100 years? “What the fuck?”
26. What are some small things that make your day better? Water, sweets, seeing that the people I love are having a nice day and feel alright, the sun and my animals.
27. Who's your go-to band or artist when you don't know who or what to listen to? Right now it’s BTS, I really love them a lot. They’re pretty amazing artists. But I like rock a lot and jazz and it depends on how I feel at the moment. but yeah I’ll probably listen to BTS anyways.
28. What's the best way to start the day? Not getting up.
29. What TV shows do you like? I don’t watch tv much but I do use netflix and I’ve just finished Stranger Things s1, Rick and Morty s1 and I’m watching Jessica Jones. I also like Sherlock even though I’ve missed maybe the last 2 seasons... ups.
30. What TV channel doesn't exist but really should? An Adult Swim tv channel.
31. Who has impressed you most with what they've accomplished? I’ll be honest for a second... My friends impress me a lot on a daily basis.
My best friend hates college but never gave up. He gets up every day, rides the bus and takes the metro in the city which is tiring as shit, goes to those classes he hates, goes to the library to study even though he hates it and comes back home tired as hell but still plays a game with me and our friends and talks for a bit before going to bed. Every. Single. Day. Except weekends, but you get it.
My friend moved from Protugal to England, had a really tough time in London but still studied what she wanted, moved to another city 4 hours away from london to study what she wants, lives alone in an unknown city on an unknown country and keeps getting up every day and doing everything on her own even if things get tough.
And there are many more stories I could tell but those things really impress me because I can’t leave the house without panicking and they do it and even more on a daily basis. I can barely leave my room and they leave their house and walk into the middle of an unknown city every single day and that’s fucking amazing. My babies are fucking amazing.
32. What age do you wish you could stay at permanently? 17. Not an adult but not too imature. I could still get a part-time job and party without anyone bothering me or asking questions about children and marriages.
33. What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch? Any horror stuff.
34. What's your ideal way to spend a weekend? Reading, writing or doing whatever I want without anyone annoying me.
35. What is something that is considered a luxury, but you don't think you could live without? There are a lot of things that are considered a luxury in my opinion since there’s a lot of people who can barely get something to eat in my country so... everything I own, including all the food on my fridge, is considered a luxury in my opinion. But if I need to say something, probably my computer.
36. What is your claim to fame? I don’t care.
37. What is something you enjoy doing the old-fashioned way? A lot of things but there are things that I like to do like my grandma taught me like tea with natural ingredients instead of buying the bags in the store, some gardening tips, some food, the cleaning with my own too hands and sewing... You get it.
38. What's your favorite book or movie genre? Fantasy, super heros and romance, I guess. But no clichés, I hate it when I can guess what will happen.
39. How often do you people-watch? A lot... It sounds creepy but as an artist I like to draw from life even if I’m not too good at it so... Every time I get a chance I either stare at someone and draw them or stare at someone and make up a story about that person in my head.
40. What have you only recently formed an opinion about? Music from other countries. I thought that listening to kpop would be weird but nope. They’re so awesome, they’re beating american artists, to be honest! They dance, sing, act, compose, they do so much shit!! I can’t believe they’re this awesome and I thought it was weird.
41. What's the best day of the year? None? I’m the type of person that hates Christmas so... Maybe the first day of Summer.
42. What subject interests you that not many people have heard of? As mentioned many times before... Kpop and Korean and Japanese culture.
43. How do you relax after a long day of work? Watching something on Netflix while cuddling with the closest animal.
44. What's the best book series or TV series you've ever read or watched? I really like John Green’s book “Looking For Alaska” because there’s no chapters, there’s just a countdown to eminent doom and a lot of stuff I can relate to in between, and I love Mr.Robot. It’s the best.
45. Where is the farthest you've ever been from home? 180km? About 4 maybe 5 hours? Sevilla, Spain? I think that’s it.
46. What's the most heartwarming thing you've ever seen? Cats maybe. Oh and the other day my dad offered some cake my mom made to a friend of his, and the expression that man had on his face was so pure as he looked at my dad and whispered “it’s actually good...”
47. What is the most annoying question people ask you? “why are you nervous?”
48. What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with no preparation? A lot of things... I know a lot of shit and I talk a lot about lots of shit... I could give an hour presentation about how chocolate is nice if I tried hard enough and felt like it.
49. If you were the dictator on a small island nation, what crazy dictator stuff would you do? I would make people be nice, never fight and never scream out of rage at each other and watch how many people would fail on the first day.

54. What is something a ton of people are obsessed with, but you just don't get? Getting a lot of money and quick. I can’t understand.
55. What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years? When I get to eat chocolate. hehe \( ̄▽ ̄)/
56. Where is the most interesting place you've been? North of Portugal. “Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês” it’s beautiful, it’s big and has a lot of “secret” waterfalls that aren’t marked because they don’t want people to ruin them but they do anyway.

60. If all jobs had the same pay rate and hours, what job would you want to have? I’d want to be the same thing I’ve always want to be, a writer, a song-writer or maybe a composer or dancer. Even if this jobs had the same pay rate and hours, they require a lot of skill, effort and even luck sometimes, so don’t go around judging jobs by how much your paid, artists deserve a lot.
61. What amazing thing have you done that no one was around to see? I have a weird skill at catching things I drop mid air before they fall or break but I’m not that clumsy around people so...
62. How different was your life 1 year ago? Not that different but it had a lot less pills, a lot less happiness, less music and less determination.

I’ve always loved some of Frida Kahlo’s paintings and her story as well (what a hell of a woman) but I love “Composition II en rouge, bleu et jaune“ by Piet Mondrain because it’s so simple and yet it’s one of the most famous paintings in the world.
67. What kind of art do you enjoy most? I enjoy paintings and going to art museums and all that but I’m mostly into photography than any other form of art.
68. What do you hope never changes? Me mostly but also my cats. Imagine them getting even more lazy... how awful...
69. What city would you most like to live in? I haven’t been too far, I’ve only gone to Spain so as far as I’m concerned I only know 0,1% of the world. With this in mind, fuck this I’m moving to either Tokyo, Japan or Seoul, Korea.

82. Where would you spend all your time if you could? Bed.
83. What's special about the place you grew up? I don’t have one place I grew up in because I was always going from my grandmas house back to my parents house and back to my grandmas house so...

146. What's the best & worst piece of advice you've received? Once my uncle gave me a potato for my birthday and I, as the 5 year old child I was, cried my heart out. After I stopped crying, my uncle sat me down and told him that I shouldn’t judge his gift so harshly. He told me he’d plant that potato and grew it just to give it to me for my birthday. He taught me to never judge anything that is given to me because I’ll never know how hard the person who gave me the present worked to give it to me and that I should accept everything as long as it is given to me with love and care. Afterwards he gave me a radio and it stopped working a few years ago but I still have it. Since then I’ve always hated when people gave me anything stupid and without any care or love put into it, like socks on Christmas. The worst one was when someone told me to just relax and to not be so stiff and I stopped studying and dedicated my life to drugs, alchool and stupidity. Way to go, dude.

It was a tourism thing and there were so many people from so many countries showing their culture. It was pretty neat. 150. What is the most memorable gift you've received? A potato. Since that day I’ve always hate receiving gifts.

2/27/17 6:37am
It’s been a strange week. The new ex gf wanted to talk to me about staying friends, and in the same conversation not two minutes later decided to get angry at me and decide to block me on facebook. She’s since unblocked me and apologized, but I haven’t responded (it’s been a few days lol) because I probably can’t make that situation better. Idk what to do for her. So I’m sure I could only make it worse lol.
Already moved on to getting back into the tinder game. It’s strange, I feel very confident in myself again for no reason. I decided I wanted to play tinder on my terms, go full on nerd with a new account and new profile and express only interest in girls that are pretty and nerdy exclusively. and it’s kinda sorta working! I like have this one girl who thinks I’m totally perfect who I was trying to go on a date with on Saturday.... Manu convinced me not to stay in Chapel Hill for Kat’s party. Had a great time staying over at Jimmy’s the night before and playing melee, was going to chill all day and see Kailey & co, but manu invited me over instead and I realized that was a much better idea. But on the way I have this girl from tinder texting me offering to get me drinks if I show up downtown. So obviously I had to try and hit that up. She was a little tall (~5′10″) and a little heavy, and wayy too drunk already lol. Like she played it off introducing me to her friend like we knew each other a long time, except then it turned out the next day she didn’t know her at all? I have no fucking clue, she dipped out to the bathroom and never came back, I texted her while I was outside bumming a cig and she said she had gone to another bar with her friends lol. She continued to text me how perfect I was and how much she liked me, but idk, should’ve been clued in that she was heavy by her offering to buy me drinks hahaha that doesn’t happen. Would be nice kinda. I’m actually kinda ghosting her rn -_-, stopped texting her back yesterday.
Anyway, I start heading back to manu’s to get back to drinking with him and maya, but I’m texting this other girl on tinder and she tells me to meet her at a bar where she’s also drinking with some friends. I say hell yeah and hop over there, and this Ramona Flowers looking girl is looking cute as FUCK, man. We hit it off like instantly just talking about cartoons and shit. I could toootally get behind spending some time with her, I hope it works out. We hung out with her friends and talked until like 2am about video games and stuff, played a bunch of pool (which we kicked ass at sorta lol) and were like cutely kissing all night. Hm. Oh and I said ‘snogging’ in conversation once and she like gasped and said I was amazing. I tried my hardest to convince her to come home with me, but she had to wake up early to clean her old apartment to get her deposit back, so instead we made plans to hang out the next day.
Unfortunately we didn’t. I skipped a tournament because I was really excited to hang with this chick, and cleaning her apartment ended up taking all day and she had to pass out. Really sucks getting blown off, feels pretty horrible, but I’ve literally been there before so I know how it goes. Can’t be helped sometimes. She assured me that she really does want to see me again, and we’ve got plans to see each other on thursday. I swear I almost quit talking to her completely though lol but I didn’t want to make the same mistake twice. Also I regret not Really being on my A game and using the opportunity to hit up this waitress girl who I had talked to about hanging out. Totally fucked up there, probably not gonna talk to her again because that’s like fuckup #2. Shit.
But lmao if this works out I’m not gonna lie I’m almost already committed to making her my new new girlfriend, just for the Scott Pilgrim memes. I swear, I’m reading those books again (spent all day sunday while I was waiting for Chelsea/Ramona) and Scott is my fucking spirit animal or something. It’s uncanny. Plus I’ve got the relationship timeline worked out reeeeally well with the plain brunette -> evil bitch blonde -> psycho asian -> pink haired not super skinny mysterious girl. and by that I mean I’m most assuredly not committed to her, I’m messaging girls on tinder literally right now to make sure I’m not going psycho on her myself. But it’d be neat. It’d be really neat. lmao.
Idk a lot of this Scott Pilgrim stuff makes me feel like I’m finally moved on from Kailey, but a lot of it makes me wonder if it’s just a relapse waiting to happen and that I’m still secretly obsessed and that all of the moving on is just an attempt to get away from her so it’s not genuinely getting away from her? Sounds kinda stupid and I’m not gonna flesh this out because it’s not something I actually feel, just something I’m sort of speculating on whenever I read certain panels like this flowchart in vol. 3 that says Scott’s still obsessed with Envy. Idk I just had no idea I’d end up being so empathetic to the motherfucker. lol. I guess I always have been a wannabe playboy jerky jerk.  And to be completely honest I’m a little fuzzy on books 5 and 6, so I’m excited to see where this next relationship’s actually going hahahaha.
What else have I got? Oooh. Dieting+Exercising has been going pretty fucking great. Every day I wake up and do my push ups and situps, so that’s good. I’m eating... not enough, but too much at the same time? Was like starting to go through ketosis on my workdays last week, then spent this weekend drinking a bunch of soda and beer so I’m like right back where I started last week lol. I want to like commit to the weightloss but also there’s no way I’m gonna pass up an opportunity to drink with a pretty girl.
New zelda this week is gonna be fucking dope. Super excited. Might try to see if Chelsea is down to get drunk and go to the midnight release and spend all friday playing that. Then I might try to convince her to go to Virginia with me idk, could be tragically overstepping but could be amazing too. Going to va and spending time with her so no tournaments this week. New PR season started and I want to come out swinging anyway. Gonna rock the tag Tyro SP because of how comical my life has become.
Money has reached a nice stasis point. Kinda just idling right now, not going out to eat too often but not feeling like I absolutely can’t. Just that I shouldn’t lol. Still primarily living on Ramen, finally figured out what my favorite stuff is, I think hahah.
And that’s it for now. ezpz all caught up. Wish me luck, fam.
