This bad boy right here is my Reachman Dovahkiin, Ceileachán mag Eochagáin, or Ceile for short. Let me tell you a little about him:

Born to a small clan at the very northeastern fringes of the Reach, in a small fishing village on the outskirts of the Drajkmyr Marsh (morthal) where the River Karth meets the Sea of Ghosts.

Received a basic education in magic from a wandering witch (and former crow-heart) by the name of Saoirse, who had started to take root in their village (i'll post about her later) She taught him, among other things, how to light small fires with magic, heal minor wounds, conjure his wolf familiar, and identify alchemical properties by taste. Ceile inherited his mask (see sticky note) from her.

For years, Ceile would try his best to keep up morale among his fellow slaves workers by being his usual rambunctious self, often drawing the guards' ire so his "brothers and sisters" wouldn't have to bear it themselves. To this day he bears the whip-scars proudly on his back.

One day, one of the guards took an unexpected sick day, leaving a small, momentary lapse in their patrols. Ceile, seeing his only chance for freedom, takes it and runs outside for the first time in almost 6 years. (All the while constantly angsting over whether he's 'abandoning' his people or not)

Eyes burning, heart pounding, alarms blaring, a sharp pain in his back, an arrow hits a tree next to him, lungs heaving, another sharp pain, is that... blood?, running, running, running, slowing, falling, darkness (i suck at writing)

When he came to, he found himself in a small house, a nord farmstead. His body was covered in bandages, he was... in a bed? Turns out while he was passed out, an old farmer out on a stroll found him facedown in the woods riddled with arrows. He took him into his home with his sons to be treated. Ceile asks how he can repay them. The farmer, sensing the boy would rather die than leave him unpaid, tells him he'll be helping him and his sons on their farm for a few weeks once he's healed. Ceile accepts this.

technically yes… i’m named after a character in a book but my mom has never been able to remember what book 🫡

2. When was the last time you cried?

i don’t usually log frequent crier miles but i definitely cried in december (??) watching the music video for “amelia” for a variety of reasons

3. Do you have kids?

nope! i do refer to my students as my kids sometimes on accident and have freaked out more than one person by saying “my kids” lmao

4. What sports do you play/have played?

currently i play rugby, although i grew up playing a lot of sports—i did volleyball, basketball, track, and danced competitively (which is probably the sport i miss the most)

5. Do you use sarcasm?

me? using sarcasm? never :) here i usually don’t because it doesn’t come across the same over text and irl it’s usually just with people i’m comfortable with and know will get it
