Your body pressed down into the plush mattress as you reveled in the comfort and security of being home. Your mind replayed the image of your mom snatching the door open, the two of you hugging tightly, rocking side to side. You had spent the past week trying to survive final exams and warding off the many questions of, “What’s wrong, baby girl?” The woman who gave you life knew you all too well. Sensing that her youngest baby was struggling, her attempts to get you to open up over the phone went unanswered. With the semester complete, being home didn’t leave much space to dodge the knowing gaze in her eyes.
That master’s degree will probably be a waste of time.
The moment you pulled away from the hug, she cupped your chin, and your poker face cracked as the tears cascaded down your cheeks. Two hours later, you filled her in on everything from the stress of school, financial aid, working doubles, and the fresh crack in your heart that was taking its sweet-ass time to heal. All of which had only taken about forty minutes to stutter out. The talk and her comfort had left you wiped out, and just like any amazing mother would do, she sent you to your room for a nap and got to work on preparing comfort food.
You considered dozing off for a bit more rest, but your bedroom door flew open, bouncing off the corner of your vanity. Your eyes narrowed to mere slits as you started to curse your oldest brother out. His hand raising halted the verbal reprimand.
“Alena’s big-headed ass is here to see ya mean ass,” he snarked about the woman who would eventually become his wife.
These two bitches are so in love. It’s sickening. The attraction is so annoyingly obvious. Shit makes me sick to my stomach.
Before you could tell him you didn’t want company, she was already in the doorframe. “Uh-uh, bitch you are not about to dodge me for another two weeks.” With those words said, you had no choice but to give her a rundown of what had transpired. Not only had she forced you to divulge every last detail while the two of you hugged and cried together. She also took it upon herself to wiggle you into your best freakum dress and head out for a girl’s night.
Being the baby and the only girl in your family made for very over-the-top protective parents. The moment your father saw your attire, he wouldn’t let up. He was hell-bent on forcing your brothers to chaperone.
It wasn’t a horrible idea.  Only you didn’t like your independence challenged. Luckily, the older siblings were pretty chill, so long as no one was overly aggressive. They had taught you how to handle shit for yourself at a young age. You spent the first half hour in the club pouting and ready to go home to wallow in self-misery.
“Hoe! If you don’t fix your face, scaring off every good-looking man in this club!”
“They’ll be alright, so long as they keep their distance. In case you didn’t get the memo after our long talk. Men make my ass itch,” you growled, kissing your teeth.
“Whateva, you and that stank attitude can have a good time together,” she sassed, throwing up a hand and walking away from the bar.”
“Where are you going? Alena!”
“I’ll be back, damn! Let me go on and annoy them, fine-ass brothers of yours. Be nice, and don’t bite nobody head off, sourpuss.”
“Always thirsting after my blood, just triflin’.”
With the flick of a middle finger, she sauntered over to their section. You could see the irritation rolling off them as she seated herself in the middle. The arguing started seconds later. Your eye twitched at the sight. Swinging the barstool back toward the liquor, you were about to pass the time scrolling through social media. Instead, a set of bronzed-colored, muscular digits came into view. They gently pressed your phone to the bar as the matching digits slid another lemon drop into view. Your eyes danced along those muscular fingers, trailing upward until they landed on one of the sexiest faces you’d ever witnessed. If any other man would’ve done this, he would’ve been set straight expeditiously. In this instance, ole boy was just too damn fine, and it left you on mute. The corners of his mouth lifted into a handsome smirk.
The stranger turned his barstool to get closer. One hand rested on the bar while the other cradled the back of your seat. His eyes roamed over your body, lip tucking between his teeth, matching you stare for stare. He chuckled when he noticed your quirked eyebrow.
“I don’t mean to intrude on ya evening, but I figured you could use another drink.”
“Is that so?”
“Couldn’t help but overhear your conversation with your friend. I’m tryin’ to  figure out why these men got your fine ass itching out here.”
Shit, he heard that? Floor, open up and swallow me. That’s so damn embarrassing.
As if reading your thoughts, he continued, “Nothing to be embarrassed about, mama. There’s a lot of boys running around here pretending to be men. Who was crazy enough to fumble you? He gotta be the dumbest man on earth.”
As if on cue, said fumbler’s name popped up on your caller ID. With a swipe of a finger, the phone went silent. You turned back to your new admirer. He had signaled for another round of drinks.
“Either you’re a big spender, or the bartender is your connect,” you teased.
“Connect is one way of putting it. This my spot, darlin’.”
He chuckled as you damn near choked on your drink.
“I’m sorry. Tend to put my foot in my mouth.”
“You good. I like a woman who’s not afraid to speak her mind. Dealing with me, you go to say it with your chest.”
“Oh, so you plan to be around me beyond tonight?”
“Around, underneath, on top. We locked in, mama,” he insisted, licking his lips.
“I don’t even know your name, fool,” you cackled at his cockiness.
“Name’s Rio, but you can call me Christopher, mama. My future wife needs to know my government name. I’m putting my trust in you. Don’t be tellin’ my business, sweetheart.”
“Who says I’m checking for you, Rio?”
“You accepted my company and drinks. Deep down, you’re intrigued by me. Ain’t no need to hide it. When I see something I want, gotta go after it, mama.” he rasped, voice lowering to a panty-dropping level.
“You’re trouble. I just know it.”
Rio planted both hands on your thighs. The gasp that escaped you lit his brown orbs with passion.
“Can I have your undivided attention for the night? Want to get to know you better, mama.”
Grabbing his outstretched hand, he helped you down off the stool.
“Rio…”
Piercing light flickered in the darkness, pulling you from the memory that played itself in your dreams. Your hand snatched the vibrating phone from the table. Your orbs squinted to read the screen, teeth clenching in frustration.
Fucking Rio, I can’t even get away from him in my sleep. Stupid-handsome-asshole.
With a single tap, the phone rested on DND. You closed off from the world to find a peaceful slumber, only to wake from another dream. Throwing the covers back, you startled, feeling the bed dip. His cologne wafted through the air, and your eyes connected.
“Why all the tossing and turning, amor? Hmm,” he rasped, hand trailing up your arm. His warm palm cradled the side of your neck, rubbing away some of the tension.
“Sorry, did my restlessness wake you?”
“No, querida. I’ve been up taking care of some things.”
“Same old Miguel. Everything business. Still don’t sleep much, huh?”
His eyes crinkled with a small smile, but you could also see sadness. It’s the same unhappiness that’s always lingered, only now accompanied by sparks of anger and resentment. Your mind replayed his words in the elevator.
Where’s your wife, Miguel?
She had other plans tonight.
The slightest mention of her had nearly sent his mood spiraling. You weren’t privy to what was happening in his marriage but didn’t want to pry. He would only reverse card uno your ass. Miguel would insist that you vent about your own life and frustrations.
“Thank you for taking the couch,” you nibbled at your lip.
There was a hint of frustration and guilt lingering in your chest. Not being able to sleep without dreaming of Rio left you feeling conflicted. Part of you wanted to say to hell with loyalty. Being in such a vulnerable state had you craving to be held and cuddled, but regardless of circumstance, the two of you were very much married. Concern swam in the pools of his eyes. Miguel sensed the ongoing dilemma in your head, and his fingers gently cupped your chin.
“Hey, talk to me. What’s all this,” he asked, tugging the lip between your teeth. “Tell me what you need.”
“I can’t,” you sighed.
“You can, and you will. Look at me,” he insisted as your eyes locked.
“Anything you ask me. It won’t leave this room. You need me to hold you until sleep takes over, amor?”
Unable to verbally say it, you gave him a slight head nod. Removing his tie, watch, and shoes, he made it over to the opposite side of the bed. Miguel got right to it, not giving you time to overthink it. He pulled you into his chest, arms engulfing you in a tight hug.
“Were you having nightmares, cariño?”
“No, just happy memories reminding me of the present painful ones,” you replied, voice filling with unshed tears.
“You want to talk about it?”
Silence filled the room as Miguel continued, “We don’t have to ta-.”
His sentence cut short as he felt the tremors and your head burrowed into his side. Miguel’s heart cracked at the sound of the sobs falling from your lips. His arms pulled you further into him until there was no space left, and the palm of his hand rubbed at your head.
“Shhh, you’re okay. I’m here,” he cooed, leaving soft kisses on the crown of your head.
Miguel continued to whisper calming words. You cried until your head pounded, and sleep took over.

Hope you all enjoyed that little peek into how Rio pulled up on your girl for the first time. He saw something he liked, and he had to have you🥰. We’ll just call this a vague moment of insight into upcoming events...if that makes sense 😆. If you enjoyed please be sure to hit the love button, comment, and reblog. Spread the love, my babies.

My little troublemaker
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/N: 4 years old Lizzie: 19 years old ——————————————————
LIZZIE'S POV Having a little todler running around the house is not easy. Especially when you're only 19 and you're raising your child alone. The judging looks by other people when Y/N calls me 'mom' in the store or just somewhere in public aren't helping at all, but I wouldn't change a thing in my life.
Y/N wasn't planned at all. Her father left me right after I told him I want to keep her. He was quite rude about it which only made things so much harder, but I'm trying my best to give her as much love as I can. I know for sure she'll ask me the question about her dad in the future, but for now I'm trying my best to make up for both parents and to make sure she has everything she needs.
I do have an amazing family though. My parents and siblings are helping me as much as they can which I'll be forever grateful for. Also my daughter is the most amazing little human in the world. She's pretty smart on her age and thank god she's not one of those children who throw tantrums about everything.
Y/N and I had a movie night yesterday, so I'm not even surprised when I find myself surrounded by a bunch of blankets and Y/N's teddy bears after waking up. My eyes widen when I don't find my daughter underneath the blankets or anywhere in the room though. She's usually the one who wakes me up by laying her small body on mine and squishing my cheeks with her tiny hands.
"Y/N?" I look around the room once again, not seeing her anywhere. I immediately rush down the stairs to find her. "Oh my god, Y/N!" I raise my voice when I see her standing on a chair in the kitchen, a knife in her hand. I quickly lift her up, immediately taking the knife from her hand. "Honey, you could have hurt yourself. You can't use a knife without me knowing" I sigh, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Are you okay?"
"But I wanted to make you breakfast" She pouts, crossing her arms.
"Oh did you?" I raise an eyebrow which makes her giggle. Y/N nods with a smile, pointing at a piece of bread which is placed on the kitchen counter. "That's for me?"
"Yes, mama! You have to try!" She grins, happily kicking her legs.
"Thank you, sweetheart. I will try it out right now" I take the bread and sit down on a chair with Y/N on my lap. I take a bite, trying hard to pretend like it's really good. I don't know what's in this, but it really doesn't taste good.
"Do you like it?" Y/N asks with a huge smile, watching me carefully.
"It's really good, sweetheart. Thank you. It's so good that I'm gonna save it for later" I smile at her, Y/N nodding her head and smiling at me in response. "But what would you say on some pancakes now, hm?" I boop her nose which never fails and always makes her smile.
"Yay!" Y/N cheers, throwing her arms in the air.
———————————
"Mommy? Do I have a dad?" Y/N asks quietly, watching me with her big green eyes. I just tucked her in for bed and I definitely wasn't expecting this question tonight.
"I. Hm… You do have a dad, sweetheart. Why are you asking?" I give her a smile and brush a strand of hair behind her ear. She needs to know she can ask me or speak to me about everything.
"Because the boys from my preschool say it's weird to only have a mommy" She explains, adding a dramatic sigh to the end.
"It's not weird at all, honey. A lot of children have only a mommy or only a daddy. Sometimes it just happens, but it doesn't mean it's weird" I tell her, stroking her cheek with my finger.
"But why, mommy? Why isn't he here with us?" She asks, wrapping her little arms around my neck. I take a deep breath, thinking about what to tell her. But I think it'll be better to just tell her the truth somehow, even though it's not really nice.
"You know, baby… Your dad was very mean to mommy, so she decided she's better without him" I tell her honestly, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"I don't like him then. You are the bestest and nicest mommy in the world" Y/N pouts, making me wonder how did I get so lucky to have her as my daughter.
"I love you the most, my little monkey" I smile, pushing back my tears. Y/N's words really got me. "It's getting late now though and you need to get some sleep, so we can play all day tomorrow" I rub the tip of my nose against hers, making her smile.
"I love you, mama" She says, pouting her lips for a kiss. I peck her lips with a kiss before pulling up the covers to her chest. "Mommy, my teddy bear!" She suddenly gasps, looking around the bed to find her favorite teddy.
"I'll bring him. Stay here and don't move" I warn before standing up and walking to find Y/N's favorite teddy.
I make my way to the living room and as I expected, she left him there, so now I'm on my way back to the bedroom.
"I found him, baby. You left him in the-" I start, cutting myself off when I see Y/N sitting on the table in front of the window, her face and hands pressed against the glass. "Y/N, that's really dangerous. How did you get there?" I sigh, immediately lifting her up on which she whines.
"But there was a butterfly, mama" She pouts.
"A butterfly? Now? At night?" I raise an eyebrow on which Y/N nods. "That was probably a moth, sweetheart. But no climbing on the table when mama isn't with you, okay?"
"Yes, mama" Y/N says with that cute pout again.
"It's really time for bed now, my little troublemaker"

Getting Older
Author’s note: FUCK IT WE’RE TALKING ABOUT TOMMY’Y GRIEF
Summary: "I love my little brother so much. I wish I could take back the years I spent treating him like I didn't." aka Joel and Tommy Talk [1.5k]
Warnings: discussions of deployment/Army, mentions of Sarah and Tess, pregnancy, deceased parent, learning to love someone even when you can't recognize them anymore
Tumblr media
The brothers had been avoiding the topic pretty much since Joel learned of Maria. They were close once. Of course, they were. Joel let Tommy live in his home, work with him, and help him raise his daughter once he came back from Afghanistan. When the nightmares got bad, Joel was there in his stoic, big brother way to ask about therapists and support groups for veterans. When Joel didn't have enough money to buy Sarah a bike for her birthday despite scraping together pennies and dimes for months, Tommy miraculously came up with it after a few rounds of Texas Hold' Em at the local bar. They were a team. Had been since their mom died.
But twenty years of a world ruled by fungus is enough to break any bond. The first few weeks in Jackson are rough. Not only are Joel and Ellie recovering from their journey, but Jackson offered up a whole new world of pain that Joel didn't even know existed. Kids Sarah's age running around without a care in the world. His baby brother suddenly no longer a baby anymore but a husband and a father-to-be. The little graveyard a little further away with lovingly etched headstones that make his stomach turn when he thinks about the river his little girl died next to. Couples walking the street hand-in-hand, and he knows Tess hated PDA, but maybe she would've made an exception. You don't realize how big a bed can be when it's suddenly empty for the first time in a decade. They struggle. All of them. There is no one in this little fucked up family that goes untouched by the hurt.
It takes a month before Joel invites Tommy and Maria over to their house for dinner. Joel does his best to make a niceish dinner and even buys freshly cut flowers from the market. Ellie teases him about it, and he teases her back, but deep down, he just wants everything to be okay again. Normal. Tommy and Maria arrive with a wave of polite smiles and offerings of help, which Joel refuses like any good host. He finishes dinner while Ellie tells her aunt and uncle about school and her new friends. It's quaint when they sit down at the table together. If you squint, you could almost believe this is how it's always been.
They shoot the shit and tell stories and enjoy the meal Joel lovingly made for them. Joel even asks about the pregnancy, which makes his insides clench like a vice grip, but he doesn't let it show. Maria gives surface details: how far along she is, how she's feeling, how the nursery's coming along. He's silently grateful they don't talk about names or clothes. He'd always saved Sarah's baby clothes in little boxes in the attic. "Just in case," he told himself. Whether it was in the event of a sibling for Sarah or a cousin, he never got to find out. Now he wonders what became of the boxes of pastel pinks and yellows somewhere in Austin.
When Maria yawns and announces she's tired, Tommy offers to take her home. She refuses and looks at Ellie. "I've got some more clothes for you back at the house. Wanna come look at them with me?" She asks. Ellie looks to Joel for permission or maybe reassurance that she's safe to go with Maria. He nods and picks up her empty plate. "You better get a move on." He urges, and just like that, they're out the door and talking like they've known each other forever. Joel and Tommy collect the dirty plates and wash them in the sink side by side, a tradition their mother instilled in them so young they can barely remember a time when they didn't do it. Tommy's the first one to break the silence.
"She's a good kid." He says, testing the waters, and Joel nods.
"Most of the time," Joel says, laughing to himself. "She's nothin' like Sarah." It's the first time they've talked about her. Really talked about her for a long time. Tommy freezes like he's trying to figure out what to say or do, but Joel continues. "They're both smart and funny and strong. I think they woulda even been friends. But Ellie…" he trails off. "Ellie's just different. A pain in the ass, sure, but different." He shrugs as he puts a cup face down to dry on the towel next to the sink. "And your little one'll be different, too."
"Joel-"
"I know you're gonna wanna compare them to Sarah 'cause that's what I did, but it don't work like that. Every kid's different. You just gotta figure out how. You gotta give 'em a chance to show you who they are." He continues. Tommy knows not to interrupt him when he gets on a soapbox like this. So, just like he did when they were kids, he stays quiet and follows his big brother's lead. "I'm happy for you. I really am, and not 'cause I'm forcin' it or anything. I always knew you were gonna be a good dad, and I know it now."
"But?" Tommy asks, and Joel shakes his head.
"No 'but.' I'm just thinkin'."
"'Bout what?"
"Your wife kinda scares me," Joel admits, making Tommy laugh. The sound is reminiscent of summer days spent roughhousing in the backyard or playing with little green Army men in the kitchen while their big chocolate lab, Arlo, lay on the cool tile nearby.
"Yeah, me too," Tommy says, and now it's Joel's turn for childhood giggling. When the laughter dies down, Joel turns and looks at his brother fully. If he looks past the beard and the long hair, he can almost see the eighteen-year-old he dropped off at boot camp all those years ago. It pushes on an ache in his heart, and maybe that's what prompts him to finally say what he's been dodging this whole time.
"I wish I was there," he mumbles. "Your wedding." The weight of the admission hits Tommy square in the shoulders, and he clears his throat.
"Me too."
"Was it… I mean, was it nice? Did you get all fancy or anythin'?" He asks, and Tommy chuckles.
"Yeah, it was nice. Borrowed a suit that was a little too big, and Maria wore a dress that was a little too old, and we got married down at the courthouse few years ago. I've got a few pictures if you wanna see 'em." Tommy smiles, and Joel does too, and for a second, they're not men beaten down by wars and death. They're two little boys with missing teeth and red popsicle staining their mouths.
"That's nice," Joel nods. "You deserve nice. I want you to have nice. Always did." The words drown out the dripping sink and the wind blowing through the trees and shaking leaves against the windowpanes. They land somewhere deep in Tommy's stomach, where he stored all emotion and grief down after that September night when he dragged Joel away from Sarah because he was being a "fuckin' idiot." They don't fully relieve him of what he feels is his share of the blame for how things happened, for what happened to Sarah, but they made it a little less heavy. Tommy didn't realize tears had sprung to his eyes until Joel sucked his teeth and pulled him into his chest like he did when Tommy scraped his knees, falling off his bike in second grade.
"I love you. I'm sorry I acted like I didn't for so long." Joel whispers, his own tears threatening his lash line, and Tommy tightly wraps his arms around his big brother.
"Love you too," Tommy says, removing a stone from the pile on Joel's shoulders. "Thanks for comin' back for me."
"I'll always come back for you. You're my brother."
Not a soldier. Not a hunter, a raider, or a smuggler. Not even a patrolman. A brother. It's been a long time since Thomas Miller has been allowed to only be a brother. He thinks he likes it. He thinks he can get used to it. He thinks there will never be a day after this one where he doesn't include brother in his list of titles because, for once, he's proud to be Joel's brother, and he will be until the day he dies.
When they were little, and they used to fight over stupid things like bikes and what music to play in the car, their mama would look at them in the rearview mirror and raise her eyebrows in the exact way Joel is prone to doing and shake her head. "Now you two better settle it 'fore I settle it for you," she'd scold. "Y'all are gonna have to learn to live with one another 'cause I'm not gonna have all this fightin' all the time. Y'all are brothers, and that's gotta count for something." Tommy thinks he can hear his mother's voice in his head as they cry together for the first time in decades. He thinks she'd be happy with the way they turned out. He thinks she'd be proud of them for coming back together in this way.
They're brothers, after all. That's gotta count for something.

Warning: Stalking, kidnapping, capture, cat and mouse chase, overpower, abuse of authority, abuse of authority in relationship, resisting capture, reader is being chased, prey vs predator vibes, time skips. Contrary to what you just read, it’s not what you think 😏.
also...not proofread.... -___- it was either delay it some more or get it out. i think its good enough. pls enjoy.
“Y/n, you’re finally here…” your step brothers gasped out, receiving you as you entered the ICU. “It’s been so long since we last saw you….you look…exactly the same since we last met up.” Your eldest step-sibling admires, noting that while you both were merely two years apart, his features were drastically altered from the effects of time. You, on the other hand, remained immune and unaltered, enchanting the public eye with your mystique and abnormal genes.
“….Still no word from your mom?” He inquires seldomly. You shook your head, internally guilty for lying and maintaining the secret of her whereabouts. “I’m sorry…she hasn’t reached out.”
“it’s fine.” He softly speaks. “It’s just….I know how much dad really loved her…it broke his heart inwhen she disappeared and left that note. I know it’s been over ten years but still….I don’t think he ever got over her leaving like that.”
Placing a soft grip on his shoulder, you patted him in comfort. You wish you could explain the reasoning behind her sudden departure, and the reason why she had to leave. It was the price to pay after becoming a wife and mother, something that you promised you would never render yourself to become, all to avoid the path that was to follow suit after fulfilling the duties of motherhood. Sure, you were grateful to her, without her love and contentment as a mother, you wouldn’t be here today. However, you wouldn’t be ashamed to admit that the path she took in choosing to bring you forth into this world, raising, and educating you of the legacy behind your family line, was something you yourself refused to follow. It was because of this very moment, a time where your mother had to rid herself of the joys and love she developed for your father, the bond she created with her step-sons, and the efforts she gave into molding you, all of it, had to be put aside so that she could keep her oath. Established by the women of your family bloodline, well before your and your mothers time, that oath remained everlasting in order to protect the Sirens, to include you and your mother. In order to secure the safety of your true identity, as well as hers, she needed to bid farewell to the life she created and disappear forever. approaching your fathers bed, he lays in a critical state. He had grown much older, despite not having to visit your brothers often, you did make the effort to see your father at least yearly. His gaze lights up the moment he watched you set foot in the room.
“My girl…my only daughter….come closer to me.”
raising his hand, he caressed your hair as he admires you. “Look at you.” He smiles. “You never changed….much like your mother. Already forty years old and you look no different than when you were in your twenties.” With the tears forming in your eyes, you knew it was wrong for you to do so, but with him on the verge of emitting his last breath, you faltered as you told him the truth, after ensuring that your brothers and the nurses were all outside in the hall, and the door shut.
“Daddy….I’m sorry…..and…mom….she’s sorry too.”
His eyes become melancholy as he sighs out in relief. “You heard from your mother?”
Shaking your head, you elaborated her reason to leave.
“dad….I think you know deep down….why she left. I think….you know that…mom and I…..we’re not…like most women….you know it…don’t you?”
faintly, he nods. “Y/n…your mother….she was and will always be the most incredible woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. I still don’t know….but in a sense, you are correct….I knew the moment I realized that she remained unchanged…and there I was, growing old….weary, and faded….but she, much like you…..she never did change. I just knew…that there was a secret she kept from me….but I also knew that it pained her if I had found out or questioned it. So I never bothered….it nearly killed me when I saw the letter, explaining that she had to leave. But I knew she had her reasons, it still hurt….but I know, especially when I see how vibrant you still remain….just as you were when you became a young woman…..I know that whatever reason she had, that it was necessary.”
A single tear falls from your cheek. You gulped down as you took his hand in yours. The very next night, he passed on. Never once inching the hint of truth to your brothers, instead, he took it with him to his grave.
Twenty years since have passed, shortly after your fathers passing, you remained in contact with your brothers only by email, or phone, ceasing all visitations to an end, so as to not give yourself away, after all, the years kept rolling by, and before you knew it, you reached your sixtieth birthday. Your step-siblings weren’t much older than you, yet you couldn’t possibly risk presenting yourself looking just as you did when you were becoming of age at eighteen years. Slowly, you drifted your presence away, wishing them well and to be at peace, slowly dying out from the family name, which became easy after changing your identity every decade, merely going by your real first name with close and personal friends that you made along the journey. It was a lonely prospect, still, it was far better than living a life aimlessly roaming the seas for any remaining Sirens.
Never had you thought that even without succumbing to the effects of love, marriage, and motherhood, would you have ever found yourself longing to reside in the Adriatic Sea……never.
…………………….
“Run! Go ahead and fucking ruuuuuun!!!
Piercing your eardrums, Heeseung’s screams of anger echoes in the narrow corridors of your apartment. You scatter around collecting your belongings as you frantically exit.
“I won’t run….I’ll swim…”
How did it come to this? How? You were always careful, you exhausted so much effort in maintaining your secret for so long, and you were doing so well. It wasn’t until the moment you shook his hand, looked into his eyes as he stared into yours, and noted your reaction after you processed that the feeling of his hand…his skin…it was all real and present. You shook with frustration as you leaned slightly forward, causing the cab driver to grow concerned.
“Miss? Do we need to make a stop?”
“N-no….thank you. Please take me to the closest hotel near the airport.”
…………………
Expanding the distance, you wasted no effort into arranging your departure. After checking into a room, you purchased the soonest available flight to the Mediterranean, preparing yourself to let go of the life you yearned for and worked so hard to maintain. Instead, you now looked forward to life at sea—the vast sea.
“What am I going to do? Do I search and find my mother? Where do I even start? How do I know where to look for the others?”
Looking out over the balcony, you gazed over the vast view of the city from the top floor. Placing aside the unbearable thought of living lonesomely at sea, you thought back to the scene in your apartment, that very moment when that beat in your chest, which had compelled you to resist, to fight back and aid n your escape, suddenly became present when you were at your wits end. You knew deep down, it was the one thing that all the Sirens used as their ultimate weapon for survival and independence. When your body had reacted, it did so out of fear and hopelessness, you felt the need to escape, the longing to break away from him. Attempting to fight him off, his overpowering strength proved too great for you to gain freedom, until he called out what you are, "Siren."
At that moment, you gained the tactical strength and skill to deter him away. It was the one thing that sailors feared of, and Kings dreaded hearing, the very power that your mother had educated you on...
“The Sirens Edge…”
.............................................
The next morning, you moved swiftly and checked out of your hotel room early. Ever so cautious, you remained alert and well hooded while dawning on loose and semi-baggy attire, doing your best to avoid being seen or recognized. You flagged down another cab, to take the short drive to the airport. With no luggage, merely just your phone and wallet, you quickly passed through security and arrived at your gate, anxiously awaiting to board. Never have you felt so nervous or scared, constantly turning and glancing side to side, remaining alert. It somewhat surprised you that there was no sight of Heeseung, although you refused to let down your guard, yet still, could it be possible that he gave up in getting you back? Or perhaps you did well to avoid being found, after all, he couldn't have known about the Adriatic Sea and its effect on your transformation, given that it was the birthplace of your earlier ancestors.
Once you settled in the plane, watching out through the window as it took off, you felt a sense of relief as you let out a steady breath.
"Did I really do it? Did I truly escape from an Adam?"
Looking past the transparent clouds, you gazed over the deep blue waters of the ocean as the plane takes its route.
"Mama....are you somewhere in these waters? Or are you closer to the mediterranean? Maybe even in the Pacific? Or the Atlantic even? Where?.....Where will I be able to find you? Were you able to find our ancestors? Your sisters? The matriarchs of our bloodline....did you ever find them, or are you still lurking in the depths of the ocean? Singing out your siren song....enjoying freedom."
Dragging the tips of your fingers against the clear porthole, you lean your head against the wall and drifted off into a calm slumber. It nearly felt as if you closed your eyes for only a moment, when you heard the captain announcing the plane's landing over the intercom. It had been a long flight, yet you nearly slept the entire ride. Stretching out your arms, you braced yourself for your arrival to the lands of Greece, the very place you had visited so many years ago with your family. You did it....you escaped and would be able to live freely to tell the tale.
Engrossed by the joyful relief of maintaining your freedom, though not in the manner in which you preferred, you still felt grateful that you were able to avoid eternal capture at the hands of that man. Distracted by the thought of it, you didn't notice that a pair of lustful eyes had been watching over you the entire flight, the eyes of a man who was waiting for the moment to strike, and bring you back home.
....................................
Checking into a local inn, you made sure to lock on a suite that was close to the ocean, right across from it actually. Since it was daylight, you didn't want to risk transforming when the possibility of tourists and locals would be present, frolicking through the surf. It was best to wait until nightfall, when you can slip away and enter the calming waters, and watch once more, where your legs merged and scales formed. You were just an inch away, from experiencing that numbing and tingling sensation, and the harsh impact of the fall when you found yourself unable to stand, and the smoothness of your skin developed the silver blend of rainbow pastels and that Mother of Pearl luster. That moment....when you became a Siren in her truest form.
"It shouldn't be so bad...out of water, my tail disappears and i have legs again. Maybe i'll find a nice island to settle onto, and reside there. A small, quaint and humble island, one that isn't densely populated, where I can remain hidden in the tropics and start all over...."
The idea was a bit farfetched, but nothing was impossible. You've come so far, it was only reasonable to think that with the same level of tenacity and will to survive, you could do it. You could restart and have a brand new life, and perhaps...you may be able to find your mother.
Leaning over the banister of the balcony, you hummed out a tune. Normally you would never think to do such a thing in public, however, with no one around and in sight, you figured on your last few hours on this part of the world, might as well enjoy the soothing effects of your own voice. You had to admit, that there definitely was something special about a Siren's voice. From the moment you came into this world, you understood its effects whenever your mother sang to you, always ensuring that your brothers and father were never around to hear. Initially you thought it odd after noticing the trend, yet after learning of who you were, you understood fully, especially after seeing the effects you had when you innocently sang to yourself amidst your trail walks or morning exercise at the park.
Humming out, you began singing the words of the soft lullaby your mother taught you. Admiring the waves of the water, you watched as the local fishermen gather their equipment and pack up for the day while the sun sets. The sky was turning neon orange with raging pink hues, meshing in with the ranges of blue tints into the stratosphere. Lost in thought, your humming was interrupted by a voice of an unknown male.
"My, that's quite a voice you got there."
Startled, you shifted your gaze over to the side and watched as a seemingly young man stood by, facing and admiring you at a distance. Leaning against a wooden beam, he sets his gaze over the setting sun before taking a few steps in, leaning against the banister of his own balcony, that was stationed next to yours.
"Sorry. I didnt know anyone was around listening." You murmured, suddenly caving in as you hoped you weren't singing too loud, which seemed like the case given that the man didn't seem to be affected by the seductive nature of your vocal cord, or your appearance. Thank goodness for the wide hood of the men's hoodie you purchased, that and, the baggy jeans.
"No need to apologize, its nice to hear such a lovely sound. You must have taken singing lessons, no?"
Shaking your head, you mitigated from speaking, and placed more thought in excusing yourself without creating any tension or awkwardness, which could possibly lead to a scene, or an unnecessary altercation. Figuring it was best to politely excuse yourself, you attempted to get away inconspicuously, yet the man never presented the opportunity for you to speak, he kept talking, merging, and coming in closer until he stationed himself against the banister that bridged the two balcony's together into a shared, half-wall. He seemed to close for comfort, yet you did your best to remain calm and undetected.
"Are you always this quiet, miss?"
"mm...sorry...i really have to go."
"do you now?" he speaks with a low chuckle. Glancing over the sun set once more, he spoke the harrowing words that caused your heart to nearly stop beating.
"Were you planning in escaping to the sea?.....Siren."
Your eyes shot up and a static bolt of fear and horror strides through your spine. You barely had enough time to process all that was going on, when the man leaped over the half wall and displayed enough stealth and finesse to let you know what exactly he was.
Pushing you back into through the opened sliding door, you faltered to his brute strength, despite the man being more on the slender side. Pinning you down on the floor, he hovers over you as he successfully grabs onto both wrists, restraining you from conducting any movement.
"Ah.....my Siren.....I've been wanting to catch you for so long. You're finally mine."
Frantically shifting around in a panic, you furrowed your brows as he steadied you to face directly in his eyes.
"My Siren....I won't let you escape from me this time."
"W-what are you talking about?! I've never seen you in my life! Get away from me!"
"No....you belong to me. God, look at you! Just as gorgeous as the day I saw you.....I had wondered where you went. All those years, the time I've spent doing the causative research, I finally came to concluded theory of the connection between Sirens and the Adriatic Sea. Though i'm not entirely sure what it is, but perhaps you can tell me....on the plane ride back home, where you will be mine and only mine."
Glaring into him, you felt the sudden throb in your chest, it was faint, yet the awakening of the Siren's Edge was brewing. If you could just figure out how to trigger it like last time, when you fought off Heeseung. Back then, it was his calling of the Siren name that caused you to pulsate into rage. Yet with this mysterious man, you couldn't pin it down, for he seemed far to knowledgable....perhaps....was he too familiar with your bloodline and the history of the Siren's Edge? Was he purposely detaining you and keeping you from being triggered into awakening your truest potential?
"What's wrong?" he grins. "Stunned to come across an Adam?"
Building up the strength as you felt the pressure on your wrists and chest, all from the dense strength of his grasp and weight, you issued your own deliverance as you lunged your head forward, head-butting him straight into his nose, causing him to loosen his grip, just a tad, enough for you to shift around onto your stomach, and low crawl away, all before you felt his hands regaining their grip on your wrists and his chest landing on your back, gluing you to the floor.
"Ahhhhh..." he snorts out as the blood runs from his nose and down to his chin. "Looks like you need to be taught a lesson....don't you?" laughing as he continues to snarl against your ear, he licks the inside of your canal before whispering, "I've got a special place, where only I'll be able to have you. You'll give me sons, and you'll be all mine."
Gasping out in despair, you curled your fingers in against the floorboard, shaking your head as your hair drapes down. You can't....you can't lose...you can't go with this man. You've come so far.....you needed to get out. But....
"What do you say? My sea maiden." Bringing your wrists down and behind your back, he takes hold of your hands with only one of his, while his free hand fetches the rope he had hidden in his jacket pocket. He was far too strong for you to handle in your current state, you needed to reawaken it...you needed to get that surviving urge so you could fight back and gain your freedom. Yet, when all was said and done, it never peaked through. You nearly surrendered as you felt the robe binding your wrists together, tightened and knotted.
"There. Now....with this, you'll have a nice, long nap. Just like the one you took on the plane ride here."
Your eyes widened in fear as you panted out deep breaths from the struggle. Speechless, you tried to focus more on what to do than what to say. Yet you couldn't come up with anything, not with him effortlessly restraining you. "I'd say, this should knock you out for at least fourteen hours."
Wiggling, you tried your best to break free. Feeling the slack in the rope brought about hope, so you continued to try and delay him from doing anything, just until you could break free from your restraints.
"G-get off.....let me go! I don't belong to you! I don't belong to anyone!"
Laughing out, he taunts you with his words as he digs into his second pocket, and takes out something else, all to aid his efforts in capturing you. Flashing it before your eyes, you gasped out in fear as he flaunts a needle and syringe in his hand. Panically struggling, trying to gain more slack in the rope, you grew anxious as he brought the needle closer to your neck. So close, but not close enough. Grinning once more, he taunts out his words as he presses the needle against your skin. "Say goodnight sweetheart."
Wincing your eyes shut, squeezing out the tears to leak out, you breached for the sharp pain that was inbound, yet never came. Instead, the dense weight of the man atop, was suddenly lifted and from the sounds of it, he was thrown across the room. Turning over, you rested on your back as your hands continued to wiggle about, trying to break free from the rope, when you were shocked frozen upon seeing Heeseung standing before you, his tall height hover above as he faces the man he just threw.
The man regained his stance, but not without the difficulties of regaining composure as he struggled to steady himself. Looking directly towards Heeseung, he wipes the blood off his lip as he stutters out.
"Hmph....go ahead....fight me. I saw her first boy, she belongs to me. Respect that."
Confused, your eyes shifted between the two men. The unknown Adam merely glanced at you, presenting his usual grin, where Heeseung never did break his sight away from the man he just flung out. He kept his gaze steady, issuing a deadly look as he developed the murderous rage within, one that could only be found within an Adam of his caliber. Kneeling down, he maintains his sinister glare over to the unknown male, only breaking the gaze for a small moment as he quickly side eyes you, and speaks in a deep and calm voice.“Miss me?”
Tumblr media
Gentle yet firm, pulls you in against his chest, and lifts you to a standing posture, enveloped within his embrace, never bothering to untie you.
With your chest pressed up against his, and his arms wrapped around you, he leans in and places a soft kiss on the side of your head while you remained facing away and off to the side. "It’s okay...my Siren. I'm here....I just need you to be a good girl and sit still while daddy takes care of the bad man." He issues his words as he pets your hair, and gently sits you down on a chair nearby.
Oddly enough, seeing Heeseung here and fighting off this mysterious Adam, all the while comforting you with his tender kiss and soft touch, it brought about a warmth that calmed you. For a split second, you felt different from how you normally did in his presence. But the moment was short lived, for when you caught a glimpse of that menacing look in his eye, that horrifying glare and sadistic smirk, you felt a level of fear that you had never experienced…. even compared to the last encounter you had with him, the nightmare you were seeing with your own eyes initiated a fright that you didn't experience before. Licking his lips as he glares down at you, something in your gut feeling told you of the unfinished business that he was determined to revisit with you. How could someone give off so much passion and affection, and yet, looked so monstrous and hungry…
Tumblr media
"I told you, she's mine!" the man shouts out and points in your direction. Heeseung merely stayed calm, displaying that sinister smirk formed by darkened lips.
Tumblr media
"Oh yeah?" He calmly issues in a teasing tone, as if he was going out of his way to antagonize the man.
The unknown Adam merely laughs in response. "I knew that you had found her....MY Siren....I knew from the moment i caught you admiring that painting.....Heeseung."
Furrowing your brows, you grew confused. Did the two Adams know each other? How?
...................................
...................................
“You’ve been interested in that painting for the last few days….you didn’t pay any mind to it before…”
"Yeah..."
“Is there a reason for that?”
"I don’t know…”
“Heeseung, come with me for a moment. I have something to show you.”

I'm forever grateful for this fandom
I've been meaning to post something like this for a while. I debated doing it during my next follower milestone (which is very close) but today just felt right.
I've been in a funky place these last few weeks due to a lot of things going on, and this time of year is always a struggle for me. I'm feeling better now, putting aside how today makes me feel, and some things have happened that are going to continue to make things improve slowly but surely.
Today marks twelve years since my mom's death. She died of colon cancer, which the diagnosis for came on rather suddenly and traumatically (that's a story in itself) and she fought for two years before finally succumbing to it on August 14, 2011. I was only 15 when it happened, sitting across the room from her when she took her last breath.
She and I were very close. I was a surprise child, born about 20 years after my siblings so I was raised as an only child. My mom was everything to me since my dad took on the more stereotypical gender role of working all day. (I was close with my dad but not nearly like I was with my mom.) My mom was the glue that held our family together and her getting sick and then ultimately passing really took its toll on my family, and me.
My mom was the one that introduced me to Star Wars. She loved the movies. She went and saw the original trilogy when they came out in theaters, and she instilled that love into my siblings and I. I still remember the day when she finally let me watch The Phantom Menace. I think it sticks out to me because if you had known her, you wouldn't have thought Star Wars would be something she was into. We went and saw the two remaining prequel trilogy movies when they came out in theaters and even the Clone Wars movie (the last one to come out before she got sick) and it was just so special that we shared this thing as a family that we all loved.
I didn't watch Star Wars for ten years after she died.
I rebuked anything and everything that had to do with Star Wars. Every new movie, every new show that came out, all I could think was how much she would have loved it (even the sequel trilogy.) I tried so hard to hate Star Wars because every time I saw anything related to it, it just brought up all those horrible feelings. The pain and grief of losing my mom and in a way I felt like I was betraying her because she'll never get to watch Star Wars again.
I don't really know what changed my mind. I honestly couldn't tell you what switched, what caused me to risk dipping my toe back into the world of Star Wars. Maybe it was all the Baby Yoda memes.
I decided early last year that I was going to watch The Mandalorian. It felt like a safe place to start since there were no emotions attached to it like other things. Also, I've been in love with Pedro since Game of Thrones so that also helped. Watching it, it didn't really feel like Star Wars, but at the same time, it reignited the feelings I used to get watching it with my mom. It took me a long time to watch the first two seasons (the only two that were out a that time) but I'm glad I did it. I went back after I finished those and rewatched the prequels and decided I was going to watch the Clone Wars show. I never really got into it when it was on TV, since I was reaching that stage of pubescence where I was trying to distance myself from anything that felt too childish.
Well, long story short, here I am now. The Mandalorian helped me ease myself back into the world of Star Wars, and the Clone Wars dunked me in head first.
I still think about it, I still think about her when I watch things. It's less painful now and more bittersweet. There's a sense of melancholy underneath everything that just kind of sits there. It never goes away, but sometimes it gets buried enough I don't feel it.
I certainly don't regret coming back to Star Wars. I certainly don't regret getting involved in the fandom side of things. When I decided to watch Star Wars again, I was sort of flailing between fandoms. That awkward spot when you leave one and have to find something else to occupy your every waking (and sleeping) moment. I had just left Marvel due to a toxic friendship (that's a whole other thing in itself) and had briefly jumped into Kpop (I still love Kpop but yikes at the fandom side.) I needed something and Star Wars decided to be that thing.
I didn't plan on getting so involved with the clones. I originally started this blog as a Mando blog (hence the name) and my first Star Wars fics were Mando fics. A lot of them have never seen the light of day and probably won't and that's okay. I hadn't realized, even when I first started getting into the fandom, that there was such a community centered around the clones. I remember when the Clone Wars movie came out, I desperately searched for any fics related to the clones, and there was nothing. So to return fourteen years after searching to find an entire fandom based around the clones...it was a bit unbelievable.
I'm so glad I found this place and eventually became active within it. Y'all have helped me more than I can ever say. I went from debating quitting writing entirely to enjoying it again. I'm writing like I did seven/eight years ago. It no longer feels forced, like I'm forcing myself to write so I don't lose my ability. I like what I'm writing. I'm proud of it. Y'all have helped me get over the impostor syndrome, the hatred I used to have for my writing. I can look at my works and feel confident in them because I know that they're good and I believe that they're good. That confidence and positivity has translated into other areas of my life. I still struggle sometimes, I still question myself, but it's never to the end of "I should quit because this is utter garbage" anymore. (When I say my writing is trash now, it's coming from a joking place, not a serious one.)
A lot of that growth has come from me and the work I've been doing, but you all have had a hand in it. I'm so grateful for all of you, from the silent readers to the dedicated commenters. You've helped me in so many ways. I'm not going anywhere, no matter how bad things get. I may have to take breaks but I'll always come back here because I have a reason to. You're stuck with me for the long haul.
I'm so glad I found my love of Star Wars again. I'm so glad I decided to engage in this fandom space. You're all so special to me and I love each and every one of you and I am so thankful for you. I can only continue to repay you with my writing and my unhinged thots.

Sena: ....is it selfish to me...to not want to know them?
Cove: *Looks at her* Your siblings?
Sena: *Hugs her knees to her chest* Yeah....I mean it wasn't their fault that they were taken in and I got left alone but it still hurts
Cove: Can you explain everything to me?
Sena: Apparently my parents died and then it was me and triplet siblings, no blood relatives could take us in...
Sena: My siblings got taken before I did and I was left alone for a short while till Mom and Ma took me in...
Cove: Sena, I'm really sorry about what happened to your parents..so, so sorry
Sena: *Rubs her eyes trying to stop the tears* It's embarrassing being seen like this, I've been the most mature one and now I'm breaking down
Cove: Sena....you're not doing anything wrong, you know that right
Sena: *Tilts her head away silently*
Cove: I think you can be as sad as you want, for as long as you need or you can feel okay about it whenever you want, too
Sena: ....you didn't answer my question from earlier...
Cove: *Rubs the back of his head, looking away* ....I don't think you're selfish for wanting that
Sena: *Perks up surprised*
Cove: Yeah, like you said, it's not their fault you all got separated but I guess I somewhat understand not wanting to know people you've never known...
Sena: *Stares at him*
Cove: But...one day, you might run into them and maybe you'll feel different
Sena: *Looks away, her hair falling out of its buns* Maybe....but right now, I'm grateful for the people who are already in my life, I feel no need to go searching for my siblings just to be happy....
???: Hey.
Sena: *Turns around, her hair draping over her left shoulder*
Elizabeth: *Stands not far then walks closer* Would you mind going? I want to talk to just Sena.
Elizabeth: You can come back, it's not gonna be forever or anything
Sena: I wanted to talk with you as well
Elizabeth: Oh? Then we're on the same page
Sena: *Stands up, watching Cove leave*
Elizabeth: Did Mom's tell you about your parents too?
Sena: My birth parents are dead and turns out I'm a triplet....but my siblings got taken before I did...
Elizabeth: *Looks away* Sorry.
Sena: Why did you want to talk to me?
Elizabeth: *Raises an eyebrow* I was worried about you, I was the one who brought it up but I made you deal with whatever was left after I was gone
Sena: *Blinks twice* Oh
Elizabeth: I wanted to ask you what happened without anyone breathing down our necks
Sena: *Smiles* It was quite rude to bail like that
Elizabeth: *Rolls her eyes, trying to hide her smile* I know, I know, I'm not very nice
Sena: *Looks down her smile fading* All of this.....really upset me..
Elizabeth: I'm sorry Sena, it's a pretty depressing topic
Sena: It is...
Elizabeth: You have to be born in the U.S. to become president
Sena: Huh?
Elizabeth: I get that I was never gonna get to be president but...it just feels weird having stuff taken away not even getting a chance at it..
Elizabeth: I don't like having to know that when I was born I was gonna have a completely different life
Elizabeth: So different that I can't even think about what it'd look like in my head
Sena: *Fiddles with her dress, watching Elizabeth Intently*
Elizabeth: I could've spoken another language, lived away from everything I've ever seen here, had someone else as my sibling
Elizabeth: And then my parents died, and I was adopted and the life I got became a totally new thing forever
Sena: Elizabeth...
Elizabeth: I can't go back to what it was even if I wanted to
Sena: I guess I know how you feel...a little, but to be honest I couldn't care less about a life I could've had
Sena: *Looks away towards the ocean* This is my life...even though I didn't choose it, I'm gonna stick with it until the end
Elizabeth: *Stares at her* I don't know why today was the day
Sena: *Turns her attention back to her*
Elizabeth: Nothing came up to make me ask the question, It was just something I've had in my head for a while
Elizabeth: When it was just me and moms in the living room I just kind of....said it, finally and there you go
Sena: Oh...
Elizabeth: ....learning about them and what happened doesn't change how I feel about our family, Sena
Elizabeth: *Smirks* I'd already figured out a long time ago that moms weren't out biological parents. It wasn't news
Sena: They could've, just not together
Elizabeth: True but I'm not half white or native american. So, no, neither of them could have been my mom
Elizabeth: Nice try, smart aleck
Sena: *Smiles slightly*
Elizabeth: Nothing about the family I was first born in would've made me decide that this wasn't my family anymore
Elizabeth: *Smiles* If you had hoped you'd be free of my big sisterly status, don't think you're so lucky
Sena: *Giggles*
Elizabeth: You'll always be my little sister
Sena: And you'll always be my big sister
Elizabeth: *Chuckles* Ready to head back home? It's been a long day
Sena: Yes please
Elizabeth: Come on, you two, let's go
Sena: *Smiles, and dusts the bottom of her dress off hurrying after her*

I truly relate to Kulot and was able to witness how my dad cheated on my mom, how his relatives tolerated such behavior, those times when we weren't able to even visit our grandparents (dad's side) on their last night when they died because his siblings lied to us that there's no signal in Negros when, in fact, their neighbor told us that my dad's mistress was there the entire time & the "no signal" reason are not true, those times when I wanted to visit my dad in his office but his mistress gaslighted him by telling him that we would be asking for more money, and how my mother struggled financially, emotionally, and physically back then.
I'll be 27 next month and I still can't move forward because I've seen so much. How he treated my mom, how he was to her as a husband, and how he was to me as a father. I was almost four years old at the time, and I remember EVERYTHING VIVIDLY. How my father broke my mom's heart, AS WELL AS MINE.
Is that really how you're supposed to cover up those lies, saying "may child support na kayo since 2012, ano pa problema?" What about from April 4, 2001 to the last date he don't pay child support? What about the times he yelled at me in public because I had just asked his mistress where he was? How far back should I go to remind you that he does not deserve my acceptance for his apology?
I even came to believe that I was the one who received his karma and blamed myself for everything he had done. But I was wrong. I've realized that cheaters will always be cheaters, and those who tolerate such behavior don't deserve my trust and respect, no matter who they are. Trust and respect must be earned instead of imposed.
I'm glad to say that I'll be forever grateful that my brother and I were raised by a strong woman, grateful that my brother didn't have to go through all of this, and grateful to have uncles and aunties (on my mom's side) who treated us as if we were their own.
Here are a few cents that I wouldn't mind sharing with everyone in public (my closest friends know this story already). I don't care if this reaches my dad, his mistress, his siblings, nieces and nephews, and coworkers. I don't care how far this can go, but one thing is certain: THE TRAUMA HE CAUSED WILL NEVER HEAL.

Hi!
For the story-with-lyrics thing, I’ve got a suggestion for you: The Other Side by Margo for Freddie Facilier.
The lyrics go like this:
„I think it's kind of funny That I make you run and hide Why am I a villain? If I speak what's on my mind
Now you're on your knees, say a prayer for me 'Cause I'm misunderstood Please, explain to me how an enemy Could ever look this good?
So, give me your secrets Just look into my eyes You know you can trust me You know you can trust me, right? Sike
[...]
I'll see you on the other side Maybe, someday we could be friends I'll see you on the other side You know you can trust me But, I wouldn't trust me“
Feel free to pick whatever part of this you like, and if you could add CJ, I’d be forever grateful to you.

“I think it's kind of funny,
That I make you run and hide…”
The earliest thing that Freddie could remember was her first day of preschool.
She’d been only three at the time, her little brother—Frankie—was still alive, and Celia hadn’t even been born yet. Her mom was still around, though her face Freddie could not to this day properly recall, and her dad had been happy.
Truly happy and proud of her and her brother and the girl her age that Freddie couldn’t recall either.
Yet, little Freddie had still brought a level of chaos with her that was truly her own everywhere she went. The classroom being no exception as she unleashed a horde of frogs onto her oblivious classmates the moment the teacher's back was turned.
Some kids shrieked in fear and took off running.
Some kids hid.
Some kids shrieked with glee.
And some kids (like Evie) even tried to catch them in hopes of nabbing themselves a prince.
And as the teacher shrieked and cursed at them all as she tried to round up the frogs, Freddie howled with laughter till she was in tears.
“Why am I a villain?
If I speak what's on my mind…”
Freddie hadn’t known at the time that that would be one of the last few good memories she’d have for some time.
How could she have?
How was she supposed to know that in just two years her whole world would be flipped on its axis?
How was she supposed to know that her mom and the girl would disappear from her life without a goodbye?
How was she to know that her brother would die and that her father would fall into a deep depression?
How was she supposed to know that her father’s memory would grow foggy as he lost sleep trying to raise her and her sister while running the school, the shop, and the arcade?
She hadn’t known.
Of course she hadn’t.
She had to learn the hard way and it hardened her—causing her to stop caring about anything but her sister.
Because she had already lost one sibling and she wasn’t going to lose another—even if she had to fight to keep them.
Even if it caused people to see her as a villain that she wasn’t.
“Now you're on your knees, say a prayer for me
'Cause I'm misunderstood…”
Freddie was seven the first time she got in a fight over Celia. She had stumbled upon an older kid dangling the old voodoo doll her dad had given Celia out of the younger girl’s reach and she had seen red.
Next thing she knew the kid was on his knees, sobbing and holding his bloody forehead—staining the floor—as she handed her gleeful little sister her only toy back.
She remembered Celia’s toothy grin and the way she gently cradled the doll as if it was a real person in the way only a three year old could.
She remembered the way the crowd parted when she fled with her little sister and the younger duo who had stared at her with something akin to awe as they did so.
“Please, explain to me how an enemy,
Could ever look this good?”
The duo found her two days later at lunch and joined her. Still looking at her with awe.
She quickly learned that the two were six and that they were best friends who wanted her to be their bestfriend.
And halfway through lunch, she found out that their names were CJ Hook and Zevon Sorcerer of Enchania.
The daughter of Captain Hook and Zarina.
And the younger son of Yzma and Cedric Sorcerer of Enchania.
Freddie didn’t know it then but the two of them and Zevon’s siblings would become her best friends in the world and that she wouldn’t spend a day apart from them until she hitched a ride to Auradon via Mal and some AKs.
“So, give me your secrets,
Just look into my eyes.”
Freddie hid Cj in her closet after she kidnapped Ben, unwilling to sell her out after Zevon was sent back to the isle—yelling and screaming about how it was Auradon’s fault that his brother was dead.
Cold and still as Cj quietly explained that Lil Yaz was gone due to a disease that was preventable in Auradon. How a stomach ache had turned into cold chills and sharp pains that caused the usually stoic boy to sob  and curl up in his bed, screaming for his mother and shrieking in pain when he was touched.
Cold and still as she realized her friend was gone for good and that he’d never wipe her tears away again after her father once again forgot her birthday due to stress and overworking himself.
Cold and still as she stared at her unsent letters, and wondered how she would know if the same happened to Zevon, her father, Yzla, or Celia if she stayed in Auradon.
How would she know if the same thing happened to CJ if she was caught and sent back to the isle like Zevon was?
“You know you can trust me,
You know you can trust me, right?
Sike.”
So Freddie lied when people inquired about whether or not she knew where CJ was,
Lied about the last time she saw her.
Lied about the fact that CJ was still in her closet until she wasn’t.
Lied about how close she was to Zevon and the brother he spoke of.
She lied and lied and lied until she didn’t know what was true anymore.
“They say I'm the devil,
So, I painted my heart black.”
Freddie allowed herself to turn to stone and acted as if she didn’t care about anything related to the isle other than Celia.
Acted like she didn’t care about when CJ disappeared from her closet around the same time Ally did.
Lying and lying about anything and everything that had to do with the isle except her sister.
She stayed on her best behavior, hoping that they’d allow her sister to come over too.
“I kinda like the danger (I kinda like the danger),
So, I'm never turning back.”
Missing the danger from back home that she kinda liked. That she kinda missed even if it scared her. Even if the thought of her sister being in the midst of it caused her heart to race in a way that was different from the way it raced when she, Zevon, and Cj started fights or when they blew things up together.
It raced in a way that she didn’t like.
In a way that made her sick.
Yet she still behaved and didn’t allow herself to bring Celia there herself in order to not ruin the chance she was given. In order to not ruin the chance Celia could be given.
Even when her patience was running thin.
“Don't you know that I do this to survive?
Please, forgive my sins.”
Because she had to.
So Celia and her could survive.
Survive like Frankie and Lil Yaz, and all the others hadn't.

3 yrs after leaving, dad died
3 years after leaving, my dad died, very suddenly. we were devastated. it feels like it’s been forever or 5 minutes, which i hate. a constant state of i just saw you and i’ve missed you for years. i walked into the courthouse to get my marriage license. i spent most of my days in the basement of that building but the whole building is very familiar to me. i love it. it’s beautiful and old, and i love old shit.
grief is interesting. it hits you like a tsunami at first…and it stays. it doesn’t get smaller, you build life around it, you stay distracted from it. until you find or feel that one thing that makes the tsunami hit again. for me its the tingle i get in my shoulders when i walk into my moms house (we used to exchange shoulder rubs and he always made it funny) or how every time i found a new road that would take me home/somewhere i needed to be i told him. and still want to every time i find a new road. its the songs we used to listen to, or the funny little facts i know about my hometown because he was born, raised, and died here so he knew everything. its every time i drive downtown and see where he used to work. i remember running through the basement halls of the courthouse. i remember the sound of my mary jane heels clicking on the concrete. and the smell of all the ink and paper wafting from his office. i remember looking up through the grated window from the back desk and seeing snow, watching tv and chewing double bubble. i remember hiding in the giant maps that hung in the second office, tracing my finger in the cement between the huge bricks because it was the exact size of my finger.
my family had an RV we used to travel in and my siblings always rode in the van with mom, i always rode in the RV with dad. i cherish those long drives with him. he let me bring my iPod and speaker and we listened to music. i remember he started a thing where we would wave ridiculously to the other RV drivers on the other side of the road. and whenever we got a wave back, he would laugh so hard.
i was never really the little girl that thought about her wedding. the only things i really cared about were the dress, the ring, the GUY, and dad being able to walk me down the aisle. so after he died, most of my desire for a wedding went out the window. which i’m not trying to make sound like some sob story, i just didn’t really want one anymore. we had a small wedding at my house and it was beautiful and intimate and i wouldn’t want it any other way.
i had a dream shortly after he died. it was short but fantastic. i was just walking in this really crowded airport. i didn’t have a destination in mind but i seemed to be walking with purpose. i remember looking to my left and my dad is walking the opposite way from me, across this huge hallway. i run over to him and he embraces me. we’re holding each others arms and i was looking at him puzzled and i said ‘dad, you..dad you can’t be here?’ not because i didn’t want him there, i was just confused because it felt that real. and he kept holding my arms, both our hands on each others elbows, and he just looked at me, smiled and said ‘but i’m here.’ and we hugged and cried. i think that was us actually getting to say goodbye since we didn’t get to on earth.
i miss you dad. i miss you when mom and the girls are fighting. i miss you when theres a lull in the conversation and we need a laugh. i miss you when i hear a song i want to show you or when i see something i think you’d like. i miss your voice, laughter, and your hugs. i’m sorry i moved away. i will miss you for the rest of my life.

Oh The Dishes
Alacrity
noun
1. cheerful readiness, promptness, or willingness:We accepted the invitation with alacrity.
2. liveliness; briskness.
I was standing at one of two sinks in my kitchen, washing up an overflowing sink of dishes, listing and dancing along to my music, when it stuck with me, I like doing the dishes."
This thought didn't strike me as odd, because as the word detention above indicates, I was taught to do chores with speed and cheerfulness. Speedy cheerfulness as my mother would say.
Growing up as the youngest, I was forever the tag along. And I was also raised now only by my mom and dad, but also by my siblings, and each of my two brothers and one sister each had a chore which was their responsibility to teach me how to do. So doing chores always meant that I got lots of one-on-one with every member of my family.
My big sis taught me how to milk goats, my brother Phil taught me how to sweep and wash the dishes, and the only issue was that he is perfect, and so would always make me do the sweeping twice. And he would actually pick up and FEEL the dishes to make sure there was no residue on it and make me wash them again. He was a good teacher, and now he trains dogs for a living and someone said training dogs is like training kids so I guess the reason he is such a good dog trainer is besides yours truly.
My brother Brain taught me American Sign Language and the fine art of folding underwear and towls.
But the most important, and the lesson I am must grateful for, is that they taught their little sister who Jesus is, and how to love Him and follow Him. When I need support they are ALWAYS the first to drop everything and come, and coming off of a week where my Dad suffered a stroke, having my big brother at the house to stay with me so my mom could focus on the caring for me Dad was the biggest help.
Scripture says to do everything without arguing or complaining, and NO task is too low or menial for the King who became a servant, and as His Disciples, how can we not do anything less?
"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

As always, our tale begins in front of a live studio audience. Author’s Note This play was born from my thesis exploring sibling relationships and the impact they have on shaping identity. Midway through my graduate school experience, my sister Shiree Shaffer died due to complications of COVID-19. Her daughter, Kellyn, has generously donated a sticker from Shiree’s personal sticker collection for you to enjoy tonight. I’d like to thank my mom and dad for raising and encouraging two independent, opinionated children; and for your continued love and support as we navigate our unexpected detour together. My family and friends who continue to inspire, love, and encourage me, I appreciate you. To my Wilson College MFA cohorts, professors, and my mentor Bari Newport, I am forever grateful for your thought-provoking questions, pep talks, insight, and love. HUGE thanks to Tracie Stanfield for her lifelong friendship and for securing Bruce Martin; Bruce I’m so grateful for your creative contributions––I know how lucky I am. Finally, to Frédérique Michel, Charles A. Duncombe, and City Garage Theatre for their generosity and guidance.
My sister was one of the first people to question my sexuality, and that moment bonded us in a secret that has entirely shaped my artmaking process, validates my desire to continue questioning how commercial artists can share LGBTQ+ stories, and encourages me to further investigate how American culture manages grief. Shiree, your spirit lives on in your beautiful daughter, Kellyn. Your story lives on in every artmaking opportunity I receive from here forward.

Just the Two of Us (Wanda Maximoff/ Reader)
Tumblr media
Hello everyone! I am so excited for you to read this part. I hope you enjoy!
Songs used are "Open Arms" by Journey (1982) and "Just the Two of Us" by Bill Withers and Grover Washington Jr. (1980).
Summary: The situation in Westview is slowly beginning to unravel. Will Wanda be able to fix it before everything falls apart? With some surprise guests.
The family was all gathered in the living room as Billy demonstrated tricks he and Charlie had spent the afternoon teaching Sparky. The moment was perfect. Well… almost perfect. Even though Wanda was grateful that the twins were happy, she couldn’t help the longing that was burning in her chest. There was a limit to the happiness that she was capable of feeling when the most important piece was missing.
You.
Wanda could see that you were becoming skeptical and that skepticism was causing you turmoil. That was the last thing she wanted. Which is why she made the decision to send you to work as a distraction. As much as it wasn’t what she wanted, she could handle being separated from you temporarily if it meant that your skepticism wouldn’t grow into resentment.
Wanda knew that she had to smile through the hurt. Even if the smile didn’t match the way she felt inside. She was determined to protect the twins from seeing anything other than a happy image - she couldn’t bear the idea of hurting them as well.
“That was amazing, Billy!” Wanda praised excitedly as she leaned over and scratched between Sparky’s ears. “And you weren’t so bad either, Sparky.”
Charlie rushed over to her brother, nearly bouncing with excitement. “That was so cool! Where’s Momma? We have to go show Momma!”
The way the twins immediately wanted to include you in the moment tugged harshly at Wanda’s heartstrings. “Oh, she-she’s at work!” Wanda stuttered out nervously just as the twins were getting ready to run into the other room.
It was clear that her words puzzled the two when Wanda was met with matching looks of confusion. “It’s Saturday…” Billy said wearily.
“No, it’s not. It’s Monday.” Wanda countered quickly in hopes that they would drop the subject.
Charlie shared a look with her brother. “But, Mom, this morning it was Saturday.”
For a moment Wanda cursed herself for having such intuitive children. “There was an emergency at the office and your mother had to go in. End of story.” The twins exchanged worried looks. She sighed. Maybe it was time to try honesty. “Don’t worry, you two. She just… She needed a distraction.”
“From what?” Charlie questioned, her eyes beginning to shimmer with disappointment.
Billy looked at his sister for a moment before turning dejectedly to Wanda. “From us?”
For a moment Wanda was sure she could hear the sound of her heart breaking as she watched the way Billy and Charlie’s faces crumpled with hurt. She swiftly rushed over to gather the twins in her arms. “No! No way! She loves you both so much.” She reassured them as she rubbed their backs. “She needed a little break from me, not you. I promise.
Wanda gently led them over to the couch and took a seat between them. “Sometimes your mother and I aren’t on the same page, but that’s okay. I know it’s just temporary because at the end of the day we will always love each other. Love isn’t always perfect, but it’s always there through every up and down. It’s there even when we fight.”
Wanda wrapped around each of the twins. “Like you two may sometimes fight over toys, but you will always love each other because he is always going to be your brother.” She affectionately stroked Charlie’s hair before turning to Billy and doing the same. “And she is always going to be your sister… Because family is forever.”
Billy and Charlie leaned into Wanda’s side, seemingly content with her explanation. Wanda breathed a sigh of relief that she was able to ease their minds. “Do you and Momma have siblings?”
The question was unexpected and as much as she tried to control it, Wanda couldn’t help the lump that built in her throat. “We do. I have a brother and Momma has a little sister. They’re far away from here.” She closed her eyes for a moment to control the tears that welled in her eyes. “And that makes me sad sometimes. I know it makes Momma sad too.”
The somber moment was interrupted by the sound of Sparky barking at the front door which distracted the twins. Wanda took advantage of the distraction to collect herself. “Sparky, what’s up, boy?” Billy called after the dog.
“Something’s scaring him.” Charlie worriedly leaned over the back of the couch to watch Sparky and Billy replicated the action.
Wanda’s eyes widened slightly with a realization that she kept to herself. “Stay here.” She instructed the twins as she rushed to the door, accidentally letting Sparky out.
The twins rushed up when they noticed the dog run outside. “Sparky!” They called as they followed after Wanda who hadn’t realized that they had followed her out until it was too late.
When she noticed the drone hovering above her, Wanda stepped forward in hopes of keeping it away from Billy and Charlie. “Wanda, this is Captain Monica Rambeau. Can you hear me? I just want to talk. That’s it.”
All Wanda could think of in that moment was protecting her family. That need grew when she faintly heard a voice she loathed float distantly over the sound of the machine. “Disregard. Take the shot.”
______
Anger wasn’t an emotion Wanda felt often, but in that moment the anger circulated so intensely through her body that she was almost certain it would consume her. When threats were made against her she could live with them.
When the threats were made against you or the twins, there would be no forgiveness from her.
The anger only made it easier to open the wall of energy she had created as she marched forward determinedly, not even flinching when she realized there were various weapons aimed directly at her.
When Wanda was close enough she threw the mangled machine at the feet of the man she despised. “Is this yours?” A small sense of satisfaction filled her as she watched the man take an involuntary step back.
“The missile was just a precaution. You can hardly blame us, Wanda.” Hayward said calmly, though his eyes flickered with irritation.
Wanda flexed her hands slightly as she fought to maintain control of her emotions. “Oh, I think I can. This will be your only warning. Stay out of my home.” Came her steely reply as she stared unflinchingly at Hayward. “You don’t bother me, I won’t bother you.”
Hayward’s hands clenched at his sides. “It’s not that simple, Wanda. You’ve kidnapped Y/n Y/ln’s body and have been manipulating her to do your bidding. Y/n’s wishes were-”
Wanda’s jaw clenched. “Keep her name out of your mouth.”
“-to remain under our care. Y/n is a weapon and a danger under your manipulation. She needs to be back under our supervision. To pass away peacefully like she should have when you took her.” Hayward pushed on, his tone condescending. Hoping to push Wanda to the point of reaction.
Again, Wanda flexed her fingers, her willpower fading quickly. “Don’t talk about her like she’s an object. Don’t talk about her at all.” She gritted out. Her eyes gave away the fact that Hayward had gotten to her as they watered ever so slightly. Hayward smirked in satisfaction.
He held up his hands as he feigned innocence. This was only after seeing the way the other agents began to look at him. Hayward was supposed to be most worried about the citizens of Westview not you. “You’ve also taken an entire town hostage.”
“I’m not the one with the guns, director.” Wanda retorted sharply.
Monica stepping forward caught Wanda’s attention. “But you are the one in control.”
“You’re still here.” On reflex, red wisps began floating around Wanda’s fingers. Her patience hanging by a thread.
It was clear that Hayward was livid as Monica took control of the situation. “Wanda, I didn’t know those drones were armed, but you know that… Don’t you?” She continued forward cautiously. “A town full of civilians and you, a telepath, brought a S.W.O.R.D. agent into your home. You trusted me to help deliver your babies. You allowed me to create a bond with Y/n. On some level you know I am an ally. I want to help you.”
Wanda couldn’t help but falter slightly, though the red energy that danced under her fingertips flashed menacingly. “How? What could you possibly have to offer me?” Her voice was quieter, the accent even more pronounced than it was moments before.
Monica took another cautious step forward. “What do you want?”
The moment was broken the second the question was asked. She knew what she wanted. Nothing would replace that. “I have everything I want… And no one will ever take it from me again.” Wanda’s gaze shifted to Hayward, her stare unwavering. Challenging.
With a flick of her wrist all the weapons that were directed at her shifted to Hayward. Wanda walked away with contentment as she listened to Hayward’s panicked shouts to stand down.
The only thing that slowed her down was the sound of heavy footsteps rushing in her direction. “Wanda!” The surprise of hearing the familiar voice stopped her in her tracks.
As soon as she turned she met the eyes of Steve Rogers. He stood a few feet away from her, his hands raised slightly as though were approaching a wounded animal. “Wanda, you have to stop.” Wanda’s eyes glistened with contained emotion. “Let’s talk about this.”
“What is there to talk about? Y/n is safe here.” She tilted her head a small frown on her lips. “Don’t you want that for her?”
Steve’s eyes flashed with indecision. Wanda knew he understood the desire to protect you more than anyone. “Not like this.”
There was a subtle shift in her posture as she began shutting down once again. The willingness for conversation ending. “This is the only way.”
“There is always another way.” Steve said determinedly. “Let everyone go. Let her go.”
Wanda’s jaw clenched at Steve’s words. The conversation was over.
Wordlessly she raised her hands, so they hovered before the barrier. “I’ll never let her go. Not again.” Before Steve could utter another would she opened the barrier and stepped through. When he rushed forward to follow after her, he was forcefully thrown back.
As he was standing, Natasha ran over. “What the hell just happened?”
Steve winced as he held his aching side, his eyes never leaving the place Wanda just walked through. “She didn’t listen. When I tried to follow her, she stopped me.”
Natasha stared up at the flickering red wall before her. “Let’s hope we get another chance.”
_______________
The walk home felt longer than usual.
Not that I can even remember how long the walk was before today, you thought to yourself in frustration.
Even though your heart had stopped racing, your thoughts were a disaster. The terror that you saw in Ellie’s eyes kept looping in your mind, leaving behind a residual fear that coursed through your veins. Nothing you did could shake the image as you felt your chest begin tightening in a panic and your palms begin sweating.
In a bid of desperation, you began tugging at the collar of your shirt as it became increasingly more difficult to take in air.
The unexpected sight of the twins and their heartbroken expression quickly grounded you as you managed to take in a few deep breathes. Your worries didn’t matter if one of your loved ones was in distress. “Bring him back, Mom.” You heard Charlie beg Wanda who was kneeled in front of them with a troubled expression.
Your brows furrowed as you came to a stop beside them. “Bring who back?” The twins rushed forward and hugged you as soon as they saw you. Wanda stood up, taking a shaky breath.
The question was answered when you looked over at a teary-eyed Agnes and a small bundle wrapped in her arms. Your heart ached at the sight. You kneeled down and held the twins as you attempted to push back your own tears.
Glancing up briefly, you couldn’t help but noticed Wanda’s pained expression. Her eyes were conflicted. Almost as if she wasn’t sure if she could join in the embrace with her family. The fear that was still racing in your mind froze the words of comfort on your lips.
Instead you dropped your gaze to the floor and pulled the twins in closer.
______________
It wasn’t until hours later that you were finally able to get a moment alone with your wife. You found her organizing as you made your way into the kitchen. “How are the twins?” She asked worriedly.
You pushed a weary hand through your hair as you contemplated your answer. “Well, heartbroken. That’s to be expected since they lost Sparky in such a tragic way… but they’ll be okay.” A tired sigh fell from your lips. “If I’m being honest, I’m a bit shaken up about it too. We only had him for a day, Wanda. How does that even happen?”
Wanda stepped closer to you as her hand hovered over your shoulder, hating the tension that lingered in the air. Hating the fact that she even felt hesitant to comfort you. She dropped her hand to her side. “I- Are you okay, Y/n?”
You leaned back against the counter as you finally lifted your eyes to meet her gaze. You ignored the question. “Something happened with Ellie today.” You could feel pressure begin building in your temples. “Something happened with the computer and-and I saw her.”
Wanda turned and busied herself with organizing the basket of toys. “Well, I’d hope so. She is technically your boss.” She said in a joking tone. Nothing about her posture indicated there was anything light-hearted about how she was feeling.
“No, I saw her. In my mind, not in Westview.” You paused slightly, and you noticed Wanda falter as well.
When Wanda turned to face you, there was confusion clouding her eyes. “Wait, how did you see her if-”
Her words didn’t register as you continued on. “Her personality had completely changed, Wanda. She said someone is in her mind - she was in pain.... Please, tell me you’re not doing this.”
A forced chuckle fell from her lips. “Y/n...” She walked over to you and gingerly took your hand. “Listen, can we just-”
“Share a kiss and move on to the next day?” You interjected with a quirked eyebrow. The frown on your face caused Wanda’s own smile to falter as she turned away from you again and moved out of the kitchen. “Turn in for the night so you can reset our world again?” You pressed as you followed after her.
Wanda spun around to face you, her eyes wide with disbelief. You continued before she could utter a sound. “You can’t control me like you control them, Wanda.”
Her eyes remained locked on yours and you watched her eyes flash challengingly. “Can’t I?”
Just then the sound of music filled the room around you. Wanda began walking away and your head fell as the lyrics floated from the radio. You braced yourself for what you could only imagine was to come next.
“Now that you've come back, turned night into day, I need you to stay.”
The soft music playing in the background lulled you into a trance. The safety you had created in this moment on the roof of the compound prevented the outside world from existing. On this roof all your worries faded away. All that existed was the music and-
“If you could have been anything, what would you have chosen?”
It was a surprise to hear her speak. Most of the time Wanda would just sit next to you without saying a word - always keeping you at arms distance. “I don’t know. This? Saving the world is a pretty sweet gig.” You mumbled distractedly in a playful manner as you watched the clouds move through the sky above you.
Wanda pushed your shoulder lightly in annoyance. You struggled to ignore the way your skin burned under her touch. “I’m being serious, Y/n.”
You smirked, eyes still locked skyward. “So am I.”
From the corner of your eye you could see her frown slightly. Guilt overcame you when you realized she was finally trying and you were shutting her down. “A writer.”
“What?”
“If I was normal and could have lived a normal life, I would have been a writer.” You explained, sitting up and crossing your legs. Wanda mirrored your position. “It would have been interesting to be a novelist with an editor and dealing with signing with publishers, you know? Or a news writer who creates interesting articles.”
Wanda played with her fingers. “I didn’t know you were a writer.”
With a short shake of your head, you answered, “I wouldn’t say I am. Remember this is all hypothetical. The life I’d have if I was capable of living a normal life.” You finished with a light laugh.
While she didn’t laugh along with you, a small smile spread across Wanda’s features. The rare sight took your breath away. “It’s a shame we’re so far from normal.”
Your eyes stayed locked on hers as she tugged at her sleeves, her lips still quirked up faintly. You smiled at the sight. “I don’t know. It’s not too bad.”
“Stop, stop, STOP!” You shouted, the music abruptly shutting off and filling the room with static. “That’s- I don’t know what any of that is! It’s not mine!” You shouted, pressing your palms into your temples. Wanda’s eyes glimmered with an emotion you didn’t recognize
Another song began playing.
“Good things might come to those who wait, not for those who wait too late. We gotta go for all we know-”
“-just the two of-” Your singing was brought to an abrupt end when you saw flames coming from one of the pots on the stove. “No, no, no!”
A loud curse fell from your lips as the fire advanced even further from your attempts of salvaging the dish. “Y/n! What-” Hurried footsteps rushed into the kitchen of the compound. Wanda’s eyes widened when she took in the sight before her. Without a word she ran back out of the room.
“Thanks for all the help, babe!” You shouted sarcastically as you hurriedly began filling a bucket with water.
Before you could finish filling the bucket, Wanda ran back in with a fire extinguisher and doused the fire in seconds. “You were saying?” She turned to you with a quirked eyebrow and a smirk.
Sheepishly you rubbed the back of your neck. “Thanks.” You mumbled.
“When we get our own house, you’re not allowed to cook.” Wanda said with a laugh.
Your eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Our house?”
A deep pink hue spread across Wanda’s cheeks. “Well… yeah. Someday. If that’s what you want.”
Her words made your heart flutter. “I mean, we’ve only been dating half a year, but yeah... I see it too.” You smiled at her adoringly. “What else can you tell me about our future house?”
Wanda’s gaze bashfully fell to the floor, you found the action endearing. “It would be in a nice little neighborhood with friendly neighbors.”
The fact that she had thought of spending her future with you only made you fall all the more in love. “With plenty of space for our children to play.” You added.
Her cheeks flushed even more with your words and the smile that lit up her entire being was blinding.
You’d be glad if that was the last sight you ever saw.
“You picture having children with me?” She asked shyly. You nodded, and her smile grew even more. “How many do you imagine?”
“Two.” You replied easily. You’d be lying if you said you hadn’t thought of your future with Wanda as well.
She stepped forward and placed a gentle kiss on your lips. “That sounds perfect.”
“Enough!” You roared, pressing into your temples even more as you desperately took ragged breathes to calm yourself. The moments that were attached to these songs all flashing in your mind at once. You still didn’t recognize any of them.
The radio crumpled in on itself in your frustration.
Wanda’s eyes widened in surprise at your sudden outburst, it was clear that you were teetering dangerously on the edge of something she couldn’t control. “Y/n. I think you should get some rest. I’m going to go to bed. Come up when you’re ready.”
The racing of your mind worsened as you watched Wanda turn away. “No, Wanda, we’re not done here! What are all these things I’m seeing?”
Wanda’s brows furrowed in genuine confusion. “What things?”
You wearily approached your wife, feeling your palms begin sweating anxiously. You dug your nails into your palm to distract yourself from the fact. “I want to believe that this…” You gestured vaguely around the room. “Was all subconscious and you weren’t aware of what was happening.”
“Aware of what?” Wanda said in annoyance as she turned away.
Again, you followed after her. “What are all these moments? What does Ellie have to do with them? Ellie is a real person, Wanda, and she’s scared! Scared because you are controlling her!” Your chest tightened. “Why did I see her in my mind when I’ve never seen her before Westview?”
Wanda spun around to face you. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” She shouted back, matching your tone. Her frustration boiling over.
“Stop lying to me!” You screamed as the tightening in your chest became almost unbearable. The floor beneath you began to splinter and your hands tensed slightly.
The familiar red wisps began flowing from Wanda’s hands. “Y/n. This, all of this, is for us. For you. So, please, let me handle it.” She gritted out through clenched teeth as the frustration became more and more evident on her features.
“What are they, Wanda? Why can’t I remember anything before Westview? What even exists outside of Westview?” You demanded as the floor began to splinter even more.
The quiver of Wanda’s lips was subtle, but you caught it. “You don’t want to know, I promise you.”
Your hands flexed in frustration. “You don’t get to make that choice for me, Wanda!”
Pain flooded Wanda’s eyes as she turned away from you. The fight in her fading. “You’ve never talked to me like this before.”
The breathes you were taking became more ragged. “Before what? I can’t remember my life outside of Westview! I don’t even know who I am!” You clutched desperately at your chest. In that moment you were sure that your heart was about to burst through your chest. “I’m scared, Wanda.”
Seeing the obvious distress you were in grounded Wanda as she cautiously made her way over to you, gently pulling your clenched hands away from your chest. “You are my wife. You are Billy and Charlie’s mother. Isn’t that enough?” She pleaded as she smoothed her thumbs over the back of your hands.
For a moment your heart rate slowed. You couldn’t tear your mind away from your troubled thoughts though. “If Ellie is under some trance does that mean others are as well?” You questioned in a more subdued tone.
Wanda tore her hands away from yours in disbelief as she stormed away from you. “Do you really think I am controlling everything?” Your brows furrowed as she pushed forward. “That I am somehow in charge of everybody in Westview? Walking their dogs? Taking out the trash? Getting them to work on time?”
An exasperated laugh fell from her lips as she pushed a hand through her hair. You worriedly watched the way tears welled in her eyes. “I don’t know how any of this started in the first place.” Wanda insisted, almost as though she was pleading with you to believe her.
All you wanted to do was comfort her when you realized the turmoil and anxiety that she also seemed to be feeling.
You hesitantly kneeled before Wanda and placed a gentle hand on her leg. “Wanda, what you’re doing here is wrong.” She buried her face in her hands and your heart ached at the sight. “It’s wrong, but we can make it right.”
Before she could answer the doorbell sounded. Your hands fell away from her. “I didn’t do that.” You set your lips in a line but didn’t respond. “You don’t believe me.”
A heavy sigh fell from your lips. “Wanda, I want to, but… the timing of the interruption seems a little too perfect. Just like everything else.”
The doorbell sounded again, and you were sure you felt your heart break when you saw her blink back tears.
Without a word, she stood to answer the door. When you saw Wanda was frozen at the door, you cautiously stood and began making your way over to her. “Wanda, who-” you stopped short when you saw an unfamiliar man in the doorway.
“Long lost bro get to squeeze his stinkin’ sis to death or what?” The unfamiliar man asked playfully.
Wanda stared at him as if she was seeing a ghost. “Pietro?” You watched apprehensively as the two shared a hug.
When Pietro pulled away, he lightly nudged Wanda. “You caught a babe, sis. I’m impressed.” Wanda seemed to still be in too much shock to react as he leaned out the door, “Hey, kid! Come out! I think there might be someone you want to see here.”
A moment later a young girl wandered into the entry way. “Y/nn.” The girl quietly whispered and while you couldn’t seem to remember anything outside of Westview you knew there was only one person who called you that.
“Anna…” You breathed out through a choked gasp. Suddenly it felt like your legs stopped working as you fell to one knee and then the other. Wanda rushed over to you.
.
.
.
A soft gasp filled the quiet room. “She re-cast Pietro and brought back Anna.” Darcy said in shock as she watched the scene unfold on the small screen before her. “What a twist.”
“That’s not Anna.” Steve said as crossed his arms. “Anna was only six when Hydra took her from Y/n. This girl is a teenager. I helped Y/n bury her sister. I don’t know who this is.”
Natasha shook her head. “It looks like everything just got a lot more complicated.”
With a cough, Darcy nodded overzealously. “Right. This is a terrible situation.” She turned away from the two Avengers slightly. “Even if it makes good TV.” She added under her breath.
Both Steve and Natasha gave Darcy a disbelieving look as the credits rolled on the small screen before them.
And we have concluded with the 80s! A lot happened here but I'm actually really happy with how it turned out since I feel like it's beginning to take it's own shape. Chaos has ensued!
Annnnyyway... I hope you all enjoyed this part and are seeing the little depths of reasoning behind a lot of what Wanda is doing. As always, thoughts and comments always welcome! Reading your responses is always the highlight of my day. :)

all I could ever want – t.seguin
Tumblr media
a/n: part 2 of there wont be anyone else!! I definitely prefer the first part of this story, but I also love this one because it’s just straight fluff 😌
Word count: 2.9k
“Mommy!” Willow squealed in delight, running into the kitchen to see you, Tyler had picked her up from preschool on his way home from practice. “Willow!” You mimicked, laughing as she hugged your legs, “did you have a good day?” You asked with a grin, Tyler chuckled, “Miss Laura is having a baby.” Tyler spoke for her. Willow nodded excitedly, “aw, that’s great.” You smiled, hoisting Willow up to sit on the counter. “I want you to have a baby, mommy.” She spoke honestly, giving her dad a weird look when he choked on his water, you snickered at him. “Maybe.” You shrugged her comment off, thankful for her short attention span, she was asking to go play with the dogs as she wiggled her way into your arms to be put down on the ground. “Go ahead.” Tyler nodded her off and she went barreling towards the living room where the dogs were innocently napping, poor boys.
“What was that reaction for?” You asked once it was just the two of you, he mumbled something under his breath, “talk like an adult, Tyler.” You teased him, resting a hand on your hip as you gave him a stern look. “I just didn’t think she was going to want a sibling, she loves having all the attention.” He sighed, “plus my baby is too little to want another baby in the house.” He pouted dramatically. Ah, the real reasoning coming out. “Yeah, but you always said you wanted more kids, and you know I would be happy with a full house, so.” You trailed off, kind of disappointed by his lackluster reaction. “You still want to have more kids right?” You asked when he didn’t speak, finally locking your eyes on his. “Yes, of course.” He rushed, “after the wedding?” He offered, seeing your smile turn up, “really?” You gasped like a child. You wrapped your arms around his neck, “I don’t want you to think I don’t want more babies with you.” He smirked, kissing your pouted lips, “I was just so caught off guard.” He admitted honestly, his normal attitude coming back through.
You had to cut him some slack, thinking of how hard it was for him when Willow’s mom was pregnant, she didn’t want him involved in anything he wasn’t able to be apart of it up until the last second, it was like a switch flipped and suddenly she decided she wasn’t fit to raise a baby. As selfish as it sounds, you were so grateful for how it turned out, because at the end of the day you knew she was getting the best life possible with you and Tyler.
“Me too, honestly, I’m surprised she hasn’t asked how the baby gets in a woman’s stomach.” You quipped, Tyler groaned, “I can’t even think about that.” He muttered in defeat, kissing the side of your head. When he pulled away, you had a giddy smile on your face, “what?” He asked you suspiciously. “I can’t wait to have a baby with you.” You admitted, watching his nerves melt away. You knew Tyler, and you knew he was a worrier, even if he didn’t voice it, right now he was probably running over every horror story he’s heard about complicated pregnancies. “God you’re gonna look so beautiful.” He muttered, a glint in his eyes, you knew then, that it was all going to be ok, even if he was a nervous wreck. Which part of you thought he would be.
***
You stood by the window of your bridal suite, dressed in your gown and veil, one of the photographers getting photos of you looking out, coincidentally, in the open garden below you, Tyler was doing his first look with Willow, something the photographer had brought up to you, and you jumped on it. Those pictures would be cherished forever, Tyler really didn’t know what Willow was going to be dressed in, but you watched as he turned around and saw his little girl, who didn’t look so little, in a dusty rose colored dress, long lace sleeves and a nice puffy skirt, per her request. Her curls tamed beautifully for once as she actually let the hair stylist apply some products to them. Your grin was wide as he gasped, looking at her and she bounced over to him, you could see her mouth moving and you could only imagine how she was rambling on and on about her dress. A habit he swears she picked up from you.
“Y/N? You ready to head down?” Your maid of honor, your best friend Y/F/N asked, giving you a once over. You smoothed out your dress once more, looking down at the trumpet style gown. “Yeah.” You sniffled, fanning at your face. You and Tyler opted not to do a first look, you wanted to see his genuine reaction as you walked down the aisle. “You look stunning.” She assured you, lightly dabbing under your eyes with a tissue, the sound of the camera going off in the background.
As you reached your spot just behind the double doors, any nerves you had melted away, Tyler, the love of your life, was right on the other side of this wall, prepared to say I do to a lifetime with you.
Tyler’s father was walking you down the aisle, neither of your parents here to do it. As he approached, you smiled, hoping Tyler’s reaction would be similar to his dad’s. You’d grown close with his family over the years, they truly loved you, and it showed as his dad grabbed your hand, kissing the top of it as he smiled tearfully. “I’ll never really know how Tyler managed to snag you up, but he could have never made a better choice.” He explained, voice shaking before he cleared his throat. “Let’s get this show on the road.” He broke the silence, chuckling at himself as you looped your arm with his, holding your bouquet with the other.
The wedding March began to play, and the doors were pushed open, revealing you and Paul standing there. Instantly Tyler looked to the ceiling, his eyes watering already, the smile on his face was undeniable as you walked towards him slowly, your own eyes glazed over at the way he was looking at you. “Gorgeous.” He mouthed, your lips parting in a smile, he loved when he got those smiles out of you, the ones where the corners of your eyes would crinkle, and sometimes you would even scrunch your nose a bit. This was definitely one of those moments.
***
The wedding had come and gone, your honeymoon too, a simple trip with just the two of you before the hockey season started again. “Daddy.” Willow whispered, standing on his side of the bed, he stirred, blinking his eyes a couple of times to adjust to the darkness of the room. He turned his lamp on, “what’s wrong baby?” He asked softly, careful not to wake you as he caressed Willow’s face, frowning at the tears coating it. “I had a bad dream.” She whimpered, “come here.” He huffed as he pulled her up onto the bed. “Wanna tell me what happened?” He asked her, turning the lamp off as he let her cuddle with him. “No, just cuddles.” She mumbled sleepily, his heart swelled in his chest at that, “always, princess.” He sighed, kissing the top of her head as she easily laid on top of him, her teddy bear snuggled between them. You flipped over carefully, having woken up during their little conversation. Tyler gave you a tired smile as you placed a kiss on his shoulder before resting back on your pillow, a smile on your face as you listened to her light breathing.
As morning came you groaned in annoyance, morning sickness coming right along with it.
That’s right, you two had no trouble getting pregnant apparently, today was actually the day you were going to tell Willow about the baby. “Is mommy sick?” Willow asked Tyler as they woke up to you bolting out of bed, he held back a chuckle, “no, she’s ok.” He assured her, “stay here.” He demanded gently before coming to check on you as you brushed your teeth. “Hi babe.” He placed a kiss on your cheek, “doing ok?” He asked softly, locking eyes with you in the mirror. “Yeah,” you sighed, leaning into his hold after you rinsed your mouth out. “Are you ready to tell her?” You asked eagerly, “god, yes.” He groaned, giving you a quick kiss.
Willow was sitting in the middle of the bed, adjusting the bow on her teddy bear's head. “Good morning, baby.” You chuckled, sitting beside her, she shot you a smile, just like Tyler’s as she crawled into your lap. “Don’t forget miss bows.” She mumbled with a pout, Tyler snickered as you took the bear and placed a kiss on its head, “good morning, miss bows.” You spoke dramatically, Willow snuggling happily into you. “Hey, Willow.” Tyler spoke softly, sitting beside you, “guess what?” He smiled at her, she sat up a little straighter, “what?” She asked cutely, you shared a look with Tyler. “We’re gonna have a baby.” You told her, relief hitting you as she jumped up screaming in excitement. “A baby?!” She squealed. You quickly pulled out your phone to record her, sending it to Tyler’s parents. “When?” She asked giggling, sitting crossed legged in front of you both. “Oh, it’s still going to be a few months honey.” You explained sweetly, “but you’re going to be a big sister, that means you can help me and mommy get stuff ready for the baby.” Tyler assured her, wanting her to feel involved and not like the baby was going to completely take over.
The months started flying by, you were having a little boy, Tyler thought he wanted another daughter, which of course he would have been just as excited for, but when he heard it was a boy, you could see the way his eyes lit up. Willow had been a little upset at first, wanting a little sister that she could do all her fun girly things with as she got older, but after some long conversations and some explanations, you convinced her of all the reasons it would be fun for her to have a brother.
Tyler was more than nervous as your water broke in the middle of the night, of course you’d thought ahead and had spoken to Tyler’s mom, who had been staying with you guys for about a week, to be here and help with Willow once you had the baby. He swears that your labor went on forever, but really, you’d gotten lucky and progressed quickly. Nearly missing the window to get the epidural, which terrified you, but you got it, and now you had a very healthy, chunky little eight pound baby boy. Much to everyone’s surprise, everyone expected him to be smaller, but you weren’t complaining.
“Oh my god.” You cried out as they put him on your chest, his screams filling the room, it felt like an eternity until he began to cry, but he was sure to make up for it.
“I can’t believe we made him.” Tyler mumbled, unlike Willow, Hunter was born with next to no hair. “I know.” You whispered, running your finger across his chubby cheek, he was peacefully sleeping in your arms, already a hungry baby, having drunk himself right to sleep. “I hope he looks like you.” Tyler muttered, lightly kissing the side of your head, a smile graced your lips, “I hope he looks like you.” You giggled, “but I kind of don’t, because then all the girls will be after him when he’s a teenager.” You added, your husband chuckling beside you. “Let’s worry about his first night home, yeah?” He laughed softly. “Willow is going to be so excited.” You sighed, lacing your fingers with Tyler’s.
***
“Mommy, daddy!” Willow rushed over when you walked in, Tyler having the car seat around his arm. “Hi, sweet girl.” You welcomed her hug, kneeling to her height. “Were you good for grandma?” You asked gently, she nodded eagerly before moving over to hug Tyler once he placed the car seat down. “Hi princess.” He grinned, hugging her tightly, “I missed you.” He kissed the top of her head, laughing as she completely disregarded his comment and looked at Hunter in awe. “He’s so pretty.” She gasped, making you and Jackie both laugh. “He really is a beautiful baby, honey.” Jackie spoke to you, giving you a gentle hug. Tyler moved the car seat up to the table, shushing Willow as he assured her she would get to hold him. “Go wash your hands.” Jackie instructed her, walking over to Tyler as he easily held the newborn in his hands. She kissed her son's cheek before grabbing Hunter’s hand, “hello beautiful boy.” She cooed, running her thumb over his arm. “You did good.” She commented to Tyler, lightly nudging his side, he shot her a smile, “yeah.” He agreed, glancing at you.
“Can I hold him, please, please?” Willow begged, running out with freshly washed hands, you nodded, “go sit on the couch, I’ll bring him to you.” You instructed her softly, she giggled and ran off to the couch, you gently took Hunter from Tyler, “oh, Jackie did you want to hold him fi–“ “No, no, let Willow do it first, she’s just so excited.” Jackie cut you off mid ramble. You smiled in relief, slowly walking over to the couch, Tyler came and sat next to her, he put a pillow on her lap, and had her put arms out on it. “You have to be really gentle, ok?” He told her as he put his arms around her, his hands offering extra support for the baby’s neck. You laid Hunter down, smiling as Willow cooed down to him, “hi baby brother.” She giggled, looking over at you and then to Tyler. “Mommy,” she mumbled as you sat next to them, Tyler picking the baby up as he began to fuss, “I love him.” Willow concluded in the most serious voice. “I love him too.”
***
Hunter gurgled up at you as you dressed him in sweatpants, now two months old, and all of you were missing Tyler as he just had his first away game of the season. You left him shirtless, a pun at how Tyler always walked around the house in his pajamas, “mommy, I wanna match.” Willow pouted, you looked at her in thought for a moment, knowing you couldn’t let her run around in only pants, even if it was only in the house. “Oh, I have an idea.” You grinned, scooping the baby up and going into the back of the closet, where most of Tyler’s old shirts were. “Come here baby!” You called, Willow came bouncing in, one of your fondest memories as a child was wearing your dad's old shirts as pajamas, so why not pass it on to her. “Pick one to wear.” You told her, smiling as she got all excited, flipping through them, she pulled two down off the hangers, “where this one mommy, please.” She gave you her puppy eyes, not that she had to. You nodded, taking the shirt from her and going into the bathroom to change into it, leaving your shorts in underneath.
A loud laugh fell from your lips as you walked out and saw her drowning in his shirt, but there was nothing more adorable. “Come here, let me get a picture.” You made Willow lay on the bed, and put Hunter next to her, you wanted to send the picture to him, but you’d rather him be surprised by your outfit choices for the night. “Hello!” Tyler called from downstairs, Willow giggled carefully moving away from Hunter, “careful, hold the shirt up so you don’t fall!” You called as she took off out of the room, her response faded out as she bounced down the steps, you following with Hunter curled up in your arms. “Hey baby!” You heard Tyler gasp, “what do you think you’re wearing?” He questioned her, lifting her up into his arms. “We missed you so much, we figured why not dress up as you.” You explained, making him look up and see you in one of his shirts and Hunter in little grey sweatpants, Tyler threw his head back in laughter, “are you surprised?” Willow asked him, arms clasped around his neck, he hummed in agreement as he kissed her cheek before coming over to you. “Hi.” He whispered before pecking your lips.
“Hi.” You repeated, smiling as he pulled away, Willow wiggled her way down to the ground, allowing him to take Hunter from you. “Hey bud, looking good.” He mumbled kissing across his chubby cheeks. “And mama, as beautiful as ever.” He winked over at you. He smirked when you rolled your eyes with a smile, “movie night!” He declared, bolting up the stairs with Hunter to go change. You chuckled as you ordered pizza, deciding to make it a fun simple night. You knew that it wouldn’t always be like this, but you knew that whatever life through at you, you two could make it work.
“You know, I’ve got all I could ever want right here.” Tyler mumbled as you sat curled up on the couch with two sleeping kids on your laps. “Me too, Ty.”

You're An Idiot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pair: Draco Malfoy x Reader; he/him.
Summary: Draco is being a brat.. Again. No one's surprised when you run into him after getting back late from Hogsmeade. Also, the reader is Hermione's older brother.
Warnings: SMUT (MDI). Just- get the holy water. Swearing, oral, Sassy Hermione?? Still doesn't follow the movies or the books or anything. If I forgot any, please dm me.
Note: Requested! And Bottom Draco-I was up all night typing this. God, I am so sorry for the grammar and crap when I first posted this. I fixed it up, so it should be better!
~DO NOT REPOST ANYWHERE~
-
Being Hermione's older brother meant you usually had to deal with a lot of shit, especially since she'd drag you on adventures with the Golden Trio. She'd always use the promise you made to your parents in your face. Yeah. You had sworn you'd protect the younger Granger when she first started going to the school. At the time, you didn't know that'd mean every single bloody year.
Since you were a year older then the Golden Trio, you ended up resolving problems and fixing some of their mistakes and reminding them to sleep during particularly stressful days. You could've swore the four of you just attracted problems better than magnets attract metal. Of course, you wanted them to be safe and healthy, but one little bleached ferret always made it hard. That ferret, of course, was Malfoy. Draco Malfoy.
Stupid Draco Malfoy who always managed to look top notch in anything he wore and Godric what you'd do to get that ferret on his knees, ruin his pretty hair and- You probably shouldn't be thinking this in the dinner hall, especially since you were sitting next to your sister. Speaking of your sister, she turned to you, a smile on her face.
"So, (Y/n). I was curious if you wanted to come with us to Hogsmead this weekend? Harry got Sirius to sign for him and Professor Magonagall accepted it under the circumstances." Hermione's voice rang through your skull as she spoke, your head already nodding up and down. It'd be a nice little break, especially during your 7th year.
"Of course I'm down, Mione!" you wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer to her side. "You know I'll use any excuse to be with my favorite bunch of idiots." you messed up her hair, causing her to smack your hands away and almost shove you off the bench.
You let out a laugh, completely oblivious to the Slytherin staring at you from across the room with the most desperate expression on his face. You shoved your sister back, a smirk growing on your face as she fell from the bench.
"Haha! Payback!"
"Not funny, (Y/n)!"
"Yes it is, Mione! You should know by now I'm always gonna get revenge!" you ran a hand through your hair, shooting her a smile. The two boys who sat across from you nodded in agreement.
"He's right, Herman. (haha, reference-) It is pretty funny." Ron smiled, holding his fist out for you to bop.
The week seemed to pass with ease, allowing the weekend and it's snowy fun to arrive without hesitation. You trudged out in the snow, leading the trio of 6 years to Hogsmead. You hummed a muggle Christmas song deep in your throat as you walked, looking up at the snow covered signs.
"Where should we go first, children? Hogs Head? Honeydukes? What ya kids feeling?" One thing you absolutely ADORED was teasing about the age difference between you and the trio.
"We're not children!" Ron shouted, his arms crossing over his bulky winter jacket.
"Yeah! Besides, even if we weren't totally responsible adults, we'd wanna go to the Hogs Head, right guys? Get a butter bear or two?" Harry spoke up, moving his scarf down to speak properly before putting it back over his mouth and nose.
"Uh Huh. Sure." You snickered, your hands shoved in your pocket of your pants. You'd given Hermione your jumper, leaving you in a scarf, fingerless gloves and your long sleeve t-shirt.
The four of you got interrupted by a line of people literally blocking your path. It was none other than the stupidly pretty Draco and his 'gang' stood in front of you, arms crossed like a bunch of wanna be badasses.
"Well, well, if it isn't Potter and his 3 little blood traitors." Draco spoke, his voice filled with smugness and his face dragged in a cocky smirk.
God, did you wanna get revenge against that stupid smirk.
"Oh, please Malfoy. You do this almost every week. Just admit you have a crush on Harry and move on." You spoke, taking a step toward him. The ferret's smirk faltered and turned into a scowl.
"Oh please. As if I'd stoop low enough to like someone like Potter." Draco all but gagged at the idea of dating the messy haired rival and you wondered what he'd look like gagging on your stick. It suddenly became a little warmer in the winter atmosphere.
"Then you have an unhealthy obsession, mate." Ron spoke up, his arms crossed. "Might wanna get that fixed and leave us be."
"Yeah, Malfoy. We're trying to have a good day and you're ruining it with your ugly mug." Hermione spoke up, causing you to feel nothing but pure pride. She'd changed a lot from the shy girl she used to be in 1st year.
Crabb or Goyle, you didn't care to learn their names, stepped forward, causing you to instinctively step in front of your friends. Malfoy scoffed again, looking you up and down before turning his head.
"Whatever." the blonde pureblood spoke as he began walking away, his posse turning to follow, but not without shooting you one last glare.
"Yeah, you... You better leave?" You spoke, confusion clear in your voice. Usually you'd be inches from his face, shouting about the shit antics his father pulled before he backed down. Turning to the other three, you shrugged and led them to Hogsmead, hoping to escape the cold.
Once inside, you all ordered a warm glass of butterbeer as you picked a table by the fireplace. Taking your first sip immediately warmed you up, a sigh leaving your lips.
"Godric Gryffindor. I haven't felt warmth in what felt like forever." You said cooly, smirking to your sister. "I wonder why I would be oh, so cold."
"Ok. We get it. I forgot my jacket. Stop it." The brunette responded, causing Harry to almost choke on his drink and for Ron to snort. You faked a gasp, your hand going to your chest in mock shame. You'd been teasing her about it almost the entire way there.
"Such sass!" You shook your head. "What would mom and dad say?"
"They'd say you deserve to shove it."
"Oh, come now, sister of mine! Don't be a stick in the mud!"
The two friends sitting across from the Granger siblings sat in silence. This was some of the best entertainment they get during the week and they always savored it.
"I'm not being a stick in the mud, you're just being a dick."
"Well you know what they say. You are what you eat-"
Ron and Harry didn't even miss a beat. They broke out laughing together as Hermione shouted, her face a pinkish color.
"(Y/N)!!"
"What? We all know it's true!"
"Merlin's beard you suck."
"That's the point, sis."
"Go- stop. Please. I'm begging you."
"Ok! Ok." you chuckled out, raising your hands in defeat.
You and the trio managed to keep up the conversation easily, but as time went on, it was time to go back, well, that's what you told them. It was time for the kiddos to go back and finish their homework so they had tomorrow to actually relax. Of course, this caused Harry and Ron to groan and whine, but Hermione finally convinced them, saying she'd help.
You let out a sigh and leaned back in your chair, your eyes falling closed. The stupid blonde hottie has been raging in your head for what felt like forever, so you weren't surprised when he popped up behind your eyelids again.
You truly didn't want to admit it, but you'd liked the jerk since he popped up randomly in your second year. He was a twat to your sister and her friends, but somehow he slithered into your heart and head all the stupid time.
Over time like turned to crush, crush turned to yearned, yearned turned to lust, because it certainly wasn't love. That's what you convinced yourself as you tossed your head back, swallowing the last of your fourth butterbeer.
You sat in front of the fire for a few more minutes before you stood up, placed some coins at the end of your table to pay for the drinks and left the restaurant, venturing out into the snow.
It was colder before, thanks to the sun setting over the castle. Shrugging off the cold, you walked down the familiar path back to Hogwarts. You tightened the scarf around your face as a particularly cold breeze blew past you. Once the entrance of the castle came up, you all but jogged to the door, ripping it open. The inside was warmer, thank Merlin.
You were suddenly grateful for the 7 years you'd spent at Hogwarts. You were able to mindlessly walk the halls and make it to the staircase leading up to the Fat Lady's portrait. As you were trudging up the steps, you noticed a A flash of a shadow duck past a knight.
"Oh, ok. Cool. Filch’ll just kill me. Awesome." you grumbled, hurrying up the stairs as quietly as you could, but we're quickly halted. The shadow wasn't Filch or his crazed cat. It was Malfoy.
Of course it was Malfoy. We gotta get to the good stuff somehow, right?
...
Anyway, you sensed he was up to no good considering he should be in the Slytherin Common Room probably sleeping and not sneaking around by the Gryffindor one. You crossed your arms over your chest, watching the blonde keeping his head turned to watch his back as he climbed the same steps you were on.
"Malfoy."
"AAH-"
You all but lunged to cover his mouth with one hand, the other going to the back of his neck to keep him still. "Shut it, you git! Do you want to get caught?" your eyebrows furrowed together as you pressed him to the stairs railing, trying to intimidate the younger male.
What you didn't know was that this was waayy to hot for Malfoy to comprehend. His back went rigid at your touch and his breathing all but stopped as he stared into your (e/c) eyes.
"Well, do you?"
Your hushed voice snapped Draco out of his trance, causing him to shake his head.
"Good, then keep your voice down. What are you doing out here anyway?" you spoke, moving your hands away from him, much to his dismay. He was just grateful you didn't back away. He liked your body against his.
"I was uh-well, I was trying to.. Find the bathroom." He usually kept his composure, but he was failing miserably. He usually kept it together so well but now.. Now Draco was struggling. He was not going to admit he was on his way to sneak into the Gryffindor common room and leave you a love note. No. Why would he do that??
"The bathroom? It isn't up this set of stairs, ya idiot." you grabbed his arm, leading him down the stairs. "Besides, you should have a bathroom on your side of the school, so what are you really doing here?"
"What does it matter?" he spat out. "You obviously think you know everything." you rolled your eyes at his brattiness and walked over to the corridor glancing down it before pressing your back against the wall.
"What are you doing?"
"Shut it Malf-"
"No. I don't ha-"
"I said shut it or I will gag your mouth with your own fucking tie." you covered his mouth again, pressing him back against the wall. "Godric. Just put your ego away for 2 seconds."
Draco desperately wanted to say 'Make me, Granger' but he was lost in the idea of your threat coming true.
Satisfied at his silence, you watched one of the patrolling professors walk down the corridor and right past you two. Not spotting anyone or anything, they continued on before you swept him down the entrance.
"Ok. Come on." You whispered to him as you walked down the corridor. You were taking him to that one girls bathroom that no one goes into, ya know, with Myrtle. You were just hoping she was gonna be literally anywhere but that bathroom.
"Where are we going?"
"You said you wanted a bathroom, idiot. I'm taking you to one where you can piss in peace and leave me alone."
"I.. What?"
"Forget it, Malfoy." You took one more turn and finally saw the opening off the bathroom. "Ok. We're here." Of course Blondie had a problem though. He shot the (h/c) male a glare before scrunching up his nose.
"This is the girls lavatory."
"Oh, you think I care. Funny." you grabbed him by the shirt covering his shoulder and pushed him inside, following after his stumbling form.
"Don't touch me, Granger. I don't want whatever germs mud bloods carry." Draco scoffed, fixing his shirt and brushing off his shoulder, as if dirt was there.
"Call me that again and I won't hesitate to ruin that pretty face you cherish so much." You growled out, grabbing his shirt by the collar and pulling him toward you. "One day that silver tongue of ours is going to get you in a lot of trouble." Pushing him away from your figure, you turned toward one of the many mirrors lining the wall.
You looked at your reflection and fixed a strand of hair, then took off your scarf. It was warm in this bathroom. You folded the scarf and looked back into the reflective glass to see Malfoy smirking in the background.
"What?"
"You called me pretty." He had his arms crossed over his chest. Your aggravated tone did nothing to his smirk.
".. You're dumb as hell, ya know that?" you turned to face the male and his confidence seemed to shrink a little bit. You advanced toward him and he stepped backwards. He wanted to keep distance between you two in case a fight broke out. He'd seen you fight other people bigger than you and remembered how they were sent to the Hospital wing. "You're a twat. You're a self centered brat who thinks he rules this school."
He gulped when he felt his back press against the wall. "Yeah? And what are you going to do about it Granger?" Draco could feel the blood rush to his cheeks. You must've noticed his face turning Gryffindor red because next thing he knew, you were pressed up against him, pinning him to the wall. He felt his breath catch in his throat when your eyes glanced at his lips for a brief second.
"I might teach you a lesson." Your hands came at either side of his head, a dangerous smirk drawing across your lips. You leaned forward, your lips ghosting over his. "You have been such a brat lately. A punishment is in order, hmm?"
Draco's hands tried to grip the wall, his nails scraping against it. Fuck, the way your voice dropped sent blood from his cheeks to his dick almost immediately.
With that, you slammed your lips to his, causing a breathy whine to escape Draco's throat. You tilted your head, your tongue grazing across his lips as your hand slipped through his hair. The blonde wrapped his arms around your neck as he opened his mouth, his tongue meeting yours. With teeth clashing, your bodies pressed together and a hand in his hair, you easily gained dominance.
You pulled from the kiss, causing Malfoy to let out a protest.
"Shut it, brat." You grumbled, a hand covering his mouth as you planted a kiss to the side of his neck. "Besides, we're out past curfew. Would hate to get caught."
He could feel you smirk against his skin, your hand in his bleached locks tugging his head to the side so you had more room. He jumped a little when he felt you bite down on his neck. The younger man's eyes fell shut as you attacked his neck with love bites and hickeys.
Your hand covering his mouth moved to his cheek as you placed a kiss on a particularly big hickey.
"You ok?" your voice was soft and sweet against his ear. He nodded quickly, not wanting this to end, which only caused you to snicker. Draco blinked a few times in confusion when you placed your hands on his shoulders and began to push him down to his knees.
"I'd rather not kneel on the floor."
"Why not?"
"It's filthy!"
You stared at Draco for a few seconds before rolling your eyes and you shoved him down to his knees.
"I don't care if it's filthy. You have magic, don't you? Clean your knees when we're done. Simple." you smirked down at him, joy filling your heart. God, it genuinely felt good to see the cocky pureblood on his knees, his head turned in a silent protest.
One hand stayed on his shoulder, the other moved itself to the bulge between your legs. The groan that left your lips caught his attention. The hand against your bulge grounded down, causing you to groan.
"Oh, now I've got your attention?"
"Shove it, Granger."
"Now, now. That's no way to talk to me, I am older."
Draco rolled his eyes so hard you were sure they were gonna roll straight out of his head. But since this whole event was anything but straight, you figured it wouldn't happen that easily.
The man on his knees swatted your hand away and wasted zero time unbuttoning your jeans and pulling them down around your knees. He stared at the bulge in your galaxy themed boxers, the tips of his ears turning a bright pink. He noticed the damp spot right by the tip and realized it was from him.
Suddenly, his confidence came back, and the blonde quickly began mouthing at your erection. With a rough groan, you rested your hand on top of his head and used the other stabilizing you against the wall.
"Go on, then. Don't be shy." You chuckled, gently ruffling his hair. The 6th year reached up, quickly pulling down your boxers to reveal your hard length.
"I'm not shy." When he finally met your eyes, you noticed his blue ones burning with a lust that you'd only wished to see in your dreams.
"Uh huh, then why aren't you sucking my dick, hmm?" You smirked, pushing your hips forward.
"I might bite it with the attitude you hold." The blonde spoke as he leaned forward, licking from the base to the tip in one, long swipe. You let out a sigh, your head slowly tipping backwards as his tongue grazed over the tip of your wood.
"You love my attitude. I bet you always have."
Draco wanted to mock you or laugh at you or something, but he knew you were right so instead, he sucked on your tip like it was a popsickle. He hallowed his cheeks and kept eye contact with you as he slowly took you into his mouth.
You let out a gasp at how hot it was. Visually and physically, it was so damn hot. Your grip tightened on his hair when his tongue ran along the vein on the bottom.
"Fuck- Ah, Draco-" You tried not to move your hips. After all, you didn't know how much experience he had, but it felt like he was pretty well off.
Draco, however, was focused on the way you said his name. It dragged a moan out of him. This might've been the first time he heard you say his first name and your gravely voice made it so wonderful.
The blonde on his knees suddenly wanted to hear you say it again. He closed his eyes, pulling back to take a breath before he pushed forward. The pureblood focused on trying to take you down his throat. His eyebrows furrowed together when he gagged and chose to ignore his tears.
"Oh shit!" you hissed out, your jaw dropping when you felt his nose press against your pelvis. "Draco, how the hell-?" you bucked forward when you felt him try to swallow around you. "Ooh, Godric!" you tossed your head back, your hand against the wall curling into a fist.
Draco pulled back and slowly went down on you again, a breathy whine leaving your throat.
"You are far too good at this, baby."
All too soon he was pulling off you completely, which causes you to whine and look down at him. He was looking down at his hands that rested in his lap.
"What? Did I say something wrong?" You asked, your head tilting to the side a little bit.
"No!" his head shot up to look at you, his eyes wide. "I mean.. No... No, I've just never been called something so.. Soft."
This caused your eyebrows to furrow together. "Huh. Well, let's change that. Come on." You stepped out of the pants pooled at your feet and held a hand out to him, which he took.
You gently led him over to the sinks, turning him around to face his reflection. "I got you." you whispered in his ear, causing him to shudder.
He nodded his head, looking down at the sink in front of him. The pureblood rested his hands against the porcelain. The 6th year's heart was pounding in his ears, his bottom lip becoming trapped between his teeth.
The blonde felt your hands run from the back of his neck, to his shoulders and down his back before finally landing on his hips. The wizard felt a heat pooling in his belly when he felt your hips press against his ass.
You reached around to his front, undoing his belt and slowly pulling it free from the loops before tossing it off to the side. He finally looked up at the mirror, taking in the reflection of his messy hair, swollen lips and your hands coming back to his front.
"I got you, Draco." Your voice was soft. "Don't you worry your pretty little head about anything." You smiled at him over his shoulder and winked before popping the button of his trousers open and allowed gravity to pull them down.
Malfoy gasped when you cupped his bulge, his hips automatically pushing forward. He'd been hard since you pinned him against the railing.
"(Y/n).." he whispered out, his mouth falling open when your thumb ran across the head of his cock.
"Yes, babe?" Your smile has turned into a knowing smirk. Blue eyes bounced between your hand and that devious smirk, Draco's brain conflicted on which sight was better. "Do you need something?"
He nodded his head, blonde locks bouncing.
"Please." his voice was barely above a whisper.
"Please? Please what?" Your fingers slipped past the elastic of his boxers, a false sense of innocence laced in your voice.
"Move- touch me- damnit, Granger, please."
You finally pushed his boxers down, your hands running along the front of his thighs before finally landing on what he wanted you to focus on. The blonde let out a sigh of your name when your hand finally wrapped around his dick.
A small smile stretched across his face once your hand started moving. The pleasure wasn't new, but was oh so welcomed. He was glad he finally got you.
You gave him a few pumps, allowing his precum to build up on your hand, making everything easier.
"There ya go, baby. So sweet." You whispered, kissing the back of his ear.
Draco brought a pale pink lip between pearly white teeth again, his hips pushing forward to get more.
The hand still resting on his hip came around to the front, gathered a bit of precum off the tip before slinking back around to the back. He used the pre like lube and pushed a finger into Draco's tight hole, causing him to emit a squeal and arch his back a little but.
"Oh, Godric. I'm so excited to wreck you, baby."
"(Y/n)!" he squeaked out as the finger went deeper. He bit his lip harder, the pain slowly dying out and being replaced with a burning pleasure.
You loved hearing your name being moaned like that, just like he enjoyed hearing his when he was suckin' on your lolli. You added a second finger, slowly thrusting them in and out to try and speed this along. You could only jerk someone off for so long anyway.
You licked your lips, a determined expression event on how badly you wanted him. Maybe eating his ass would've been more effective.
"Please hurry, I don't know how much more of this I can take-" his voice was higher in pitch, his hips pushing back against you. "Please-"
"Ok, baby, ok. No need to beg." you chuckled, removing your hands from their working positions. Gently rubbing your hand over one cheek, you spread it open enough to spit in it, just to be safe. "Ready?" your free hand grabbed your own dick pumping it a few times for good measure.
"I wouldn't be asking you to do it if I wasn't, now would I?" the blonde snapped back, glaring over his shoulder. How did he go from so innocent he's almost choking from one finger in him to being a demanding brat all over again?
You rolled your eyes and lined yourself up, carefully and slowly pushing in until you made it past the first ring of muscle. Both of you moaned at the feeling, your hands coming to rest against his hips as his head ducked down, his chin pressed against his chest.
You slowly pushed in deeper, a whine leaving his throat as the twisted pain came back. You reached around to grab his dick again and jerked him off a little bit more to try and counterbalance the pain.
Once you were all the way in, you just let him adjust. You kissed across his still clothed shoulders and neck, whispering encouraging words of praise.
The hand on his hip dragged itself upward, your eyes following it in the mirror. Once it made it to his chest, you cupped one of his pecs through the shirt, feeling his perky nipple pressing against your palm.
Grinding your palm down against his nipple and continuing to rub his dick, you slowly pulled out almost all the way before pushing back in with one sweep.
You literally left him breathless. He was staring at you through the reflection in the mirror, his mouth hanging open, his eyes glazed over with need, his hair a mess.
You built up a pave easily, deep and hard but slow and Draco loved every second of it. His toes curled in his boots, his back arched into your hands while his hips fought to figure out if they wanted to go forward into your hand or back into your dick. It truly was a conundrum for the twink.
"Such a good boy for me, aren't ya?" You spoke up after a while, your voice gravelly and rough and right in his ear. You let out a breathy laugh when he shuddered and moaned from that alone.
The two of you weren't concerned with the sound of skin hitting skin or your moans echoing around the hallow bathroom. You were busy, I don't blame you.
Soon enough, Draco was begging you to speed up, his release starting to creep it's way around. You nodded your head, resting your forehead against his shoulder as you spend your hips up, a grunt leaving your lips.
Draco let out a loud whine when your fingers pinched one of his nipples, his hands clawing at the walls as pleasure coursed through his veins.
"I'm gonna cum in you." You groaned against his back. "I'm gonna mark you as mine and you're gonna sit there and enjoy it."
Fuck yeah, he was.
Draco was nowhere near complaining. He'd been fantasizing of this and so much more for years. He, of course, blamed his hormones, but he knew the effect ran deeper than just lust.
Draco nodded his head. "Please-" he moaned out your name, his thighs trembling from the pleasure. He was getting closer and, honestly, so where you.
The pureblood was so warm and hugged you so right in all the right places and Albus mother-fucking Dumbledore where you getting more of this later.
This stupid cute blonde was so intoxicating it almost made you feel pathetic. Keyword is almost.
You sped up, chasing after your own release as it also reared its head around the corner.
"G-gonna cum-" Draco stuttered out, his voice cracking. One hand fell from the wall to the porcelain sink at his waist. "I-I'm.. Gonna-" he called out your name, loud enough for it to probably be heard by the Gryffindors, as he came.
He tightened and spasmed around you, his legs shaking and tiny moans leaving his throat as you helped him ride out his orgasm.
"Are you good?" You asked, rubbing his back and soon letting go of his soft dick when he deemed it was sensitive. "Do you want me to pull out?"
Draco shook his head, his ears noticeably red from behind him. "I want you to keep your promise."
He did not have to tell you twice. You went back to thrusting into him, both hands on his waist as you sought after your own orgasm. A few moans and groans from you later and you were cumming inside him.
You leaned into him, riding it out until his tight, hot ass became too much. You pulled out carefully, causing him to whine and twitch.
"Let's get you cleaned up, ok, Draco?"
The blonde nodded his head and allowed you to carefully and gently clean him up with a wet paper towel. It wasn't the lost romantic thing used to clean partners, but it was what you had.
After a few minutes of silence once you were cleaned and dressed you spoke up.
"So what.. Where are you doing by Gryffindor Tower, Blondie?" your hands ended up in your pockets again.
"Well I.." The pureblood reached into the pocket of his jacket, pulling out an envelope. "I was going to..."
"Draco, babe. I saw your 'o' face. Just tell me. You shouldn't be embarrassed." You snickered, obviously teasing the younger man.
He took in a deep breath and shoved the letter toward you.
"IwroteyoualetterexplaininghowIfeltaboutyouandhowIwassorryforhowItreatedyoursister-" he was going way too fast for you to understand anything.
"What? I can't.. I don't speak whatever this is."
"I.. Just read the letter!"
With that, you tore open the envelope. It was the love letter Draco was gonna leave by your bedside table.
The letter stated how he fell in love with you from a far over the years by watching you dominate in Quidditch, bringing light into the world with the Twins (let's be honest, imma throw them in this) and just.. Being you. Plus bickering with you was one of his favorite pastimes.
It also stated how he was sorry for treating Hermione so poorly and the citation with his dad and how he was raised.
The Slytherin was nervously wringing his hands together, a nervous expression on his face. "Umm.. Are.. You gonna say something?" his mental fingers were crossed.
You smiled, tilting your head a little bit.
"You're an idiot." You pulled him into a gentle kiss, your hand entangling with his. You casted him a genuine smile. "I like you too, Draco."
The blonde's face broke out in a matching grin and he all but jumped on you to give you another kiss. Once the two of you broke apart, your voice echoed in the bathroom once again.
"There's only one problem."
"What is it?"
"How do we tell Hermione?"

traitor (sokka x f!reader) pt 18
part 1 | part 17 | part 19
A/N: ah, so the long awaited “The Puppetmaster” episode. This has always been one of my favorites ❤️ Take Y/N’s commentary at the beginning how you want. Either Hama got the idea from an old Fire Nation scary story... or she’s been at this a lot longer than we originally though 🤭
Tumblr media
Y/N looked up fondly at Sokka as he recounted what he called, “the scariest story he knew”. It was not scary in the slightest and from the other disinterested looks Y/N got from Katara and Aang and the way that Toph lolled her head back in boredom, none of the others thought so either. Every now and then Sokka would glance down at Y/N and she would give him an amused smirk and however he took it spurred him on through the story. When he was finished, he waited with a sly smile like he thought the four of them were about to start screaming.
“I don’t know, I liked the story about ‘the man with the sword for a hand’ better.” Aang shrugged.
Sokka pouted and sat back down next to Y/N. “You thought it was scary, right?”
Y/N raised her eyebrows and nodded. “Terrifying.” She linked an arm through his and they both leaned back on the fallen tree behind them.
Y/N watched Toph wrinkle her nose. “Water tribe slumber parties must suck.”
“I have one. And it’s a true Southern Water Tribe story.” Y/N’s ears perked up at the sound of Katara’s voice. She hadn’t spoken all night and she was the only one who hadn’t recounted a scary story. Her knees were pulled up and she had her arms wrapped around them, and the light from their fire danced across her face.
Sokka seemed unperturbed. “Is this one of those ‘a friend of my cousin knew this one guy’ stories?”
“No.” Katara’s voice was sharp. “It happened to Mom.”
Y/N didn’t know what about Katara’s story scared her the most. Maybe it was her voice, or the way she told the story. Or maybe it was the way Sokka tensed underneath her arm that led Y/N to believe that there was more truth to this story than she originally thought.
But the thing that freaked her out the most and had her jumping from Sokka’s side immediately to Katara’s was Toph’s gasp.
Toph jumped to her feet, her milky eyes widening. “Wait. Guys did you hear that?!”
Sokka bumped into Y/N’s side, pressing her against Katara even more. Y/N wrapped an arm around Katara and grabbed onto Aang shoulder, pulling them all into an impossibly smaller ball.
“I hear people under the mountain! And they’re screaming!”
Chills worked their way down Y/N’s spine and she shivered between the two Water Tribe siblings. She recalled a story she heard at school, something about full moons and missing people… but it was just a story that little kids told to one another. Albeit, one that Toph shouldn’t have known.
“No, no… you’re lying. You don’t hear anything.” Y/N’s voice was shaking.
Sokka scoffed. “Nice try, Toph.” He started peeling himself away from Y/N’s side and moved back to their seat.
But the look on Toph’s face didn’t look like she was joking. “I’m serious! I hear something.”
Y/N tugged on Sokka’s arm and pulled him back, closer to her. “Uh, I really don’t think she’s kidding, Sokka.”
“Wait, you believe this?” Katara asked, her eyes wide with fear.
“Kids at school used to tell these scary stories about a witch or evil spirits who would take people and hide them in a space between the spirit world and our world. They’re everywhere around us but we just can’t see them.” Her voice trailed off as the wind picked up and began howling through the trees, almost as if it was in response to what she said. “But it’s a Fire Nation story, Toph wouldn’t know it,” Y/N said quietly.
Aang looked up to the tops of the trees above them. “Spirits aren’t evil,” he ventured, his voice small.
“Hello, children.” A voice said behind them.
---
Y/N didn’t think that she could scream as loud as she did. Aang, Katara, Y/N and Sokka, who had been huddled together on one side of the fire, holding one another as close as possible, suddenly shoved each other away, each of them trying to get as far away from whoever had just walked up behind them. Y/N in her haste, leapt over the fire nearly knocking Toph over in the process. Her heart was pounding as she stared at the woman. Y/N just kept telling herself, this is not the same as before, this is not the same as before. That, and she wasn’t alone this time. Aang could airbend the woman away or Toph could knock her off her feet before Y/N could even reach her sword. Nobody had to die.
“I’m sorry for scaring you. My name is Hama. You children shouldn’t be out in the woods by yourselves at night. I have an inn nearby, why don’t we go there for some spiced tea and warm beds?” The old woman had white hair and her shoulders were hunched but Y/N could see her bright blue eyes even from how far away she was. She seemed sincere. Y/N couldn’t find a reason not to take her offer. Normally she was suspicious of everyone, but this old woman wasn’t going to do them any harm.
“Yes, please.” Y/N said gratefully.
---
A couple of torches and the almost full moon lit their way back to Hama’s inn. Sokka was holding Y/N’s hand and she appreciated the contact. The trail, the cool night air, the darkness was eerily similar to that night that wasn’t so long ago. Every now and then she felt like she was transported back there; that she and Sokka were running through the woods back to Appa, stumbling over uneven ground, trying to get back to Katara so Y/N didn’t die. Then, a stiff breeze or a snap of a stick under their feet would bring her back to the present.
Sokka leaned over to whisper in her ear. “So we just trust anyone we meet in the woods now?!”
“I know it’s kind of weird, but she doesn’t seem that bad to me. Besides being in these woods is really starting to freak me out,” she admitted. “I think if she turns out to be some criminal mastermind, the five of us can take her.”
Sokka’s face softened. “Sorry. I didn’t even realize…”
“Don’t worry about it.” Y/N squeezed his hand, grateful for the comfort of her friends around. This time was different, that was for sure.
---
Y/N hadn’t slept in a real bed since she was in the Fire Nation palace. Sure, in Ba Sing Se, she and the girls had been given nice beds, but Y/N hadn’t done more than sit up against the headboard and worry all night before she left Azula.
Just as she was pulling back the covers she heard a light knock at the door. Y/N brushed it off as just the old house settling but then she heard it again, this time a little more forcefully.
Sokka was standing on the other side of her door when she opened it, clutching his pillow. She looked at his bare chest and his hair that was down and framing his face.
“Um. Whatcha doin’, buddy?” Y/N greeted, trying to keep her voice light despite her being a little breathless that Sokka was shirtless, in the middle of the night, standing in the doorway to her room.
“I’m freaking out.” Sokka didn’t wait for an invitation, just pushed the door open further and walked inside. Y/N shut the door behind him, only to open it once again to scratching on the wood. Momo ran around Y/N’s legs and jumped onto her bed, making a spot for himself on one of the pillows.
“This house is creepy. Can I sleep in here?” Sokka asked, looking at her hopefully.
“Yeah,” Y/N sighed. “But on the floor. I haven’t slept in a real bed in forever and I’m not about to give half of it up because you’re a scaredy cat-snake.” She tossed one of the spare blankets at the end of the bed at him and crawled under the covers.
Sokka settled on the floor next to the bed and Y/N moved to the edge so she could look down at him. She rolled onto her stomach and dangled one of her hands down next to him. “Night, Sokka.”
He grabbed it and intertwined their fingers. “Night, Y/N,” He yawned and snuggled his head into his pillow.
Y/N waited until she could hear soft snores coming from him before she let her eyes fall heavy and drifted off to sleep.
---
“So, Hama seems suspicious to everyone else, right?” Sokka leaned on the counter in Hama’s kitchen while they unpacked the food she’d bought at the market.
Katara exchanged a glance with Y/N who just smiled and shrugged.
“She reminds me of Gran-Gran,” Katara said.
“Didn’t you hear that comment that she made about us being ‘mysterious children’ before she left us to go run more errands?”
Y/N burst out laughing. “Sokka, she found five kids camping in the woods last night. That’s strange, don’t you think?”
“If we’re so strange and mysterious, why did she let us come back to her house without her?” Sokka pressed.
Y/N looked to Katara for help. “I guess that is kind of weird…”
“Yeah! So let’s go have a look around!”
The four of them followed Sokka as he picked his way upstairs peeking into every unlocked room along the way.
“Sokka! What are you doing?” Katara exclaimed.
“You shouldn’t go snooping around someone’s house!” Y/N echoed. She looked wildly to the front door, expecting Hama to be walking in on them wandering through her house at that moment.
Sokka slid open another door and stepped inside. “It’s fine, you guys.”
“She could be home any minute,” Aang warned. Sokka ignored all of their protests and went deeper into the house. He came across a cabinet built into the wall. He began pulling on the handles but it wasn’t budging. Y/N against all better judgement nudged one of his hands away and began pulling on one of the doors to help him.
Suddenly, the doors gave way and both of them stumbled backwards, Y/N falling to the floor. Katara was able to catch the dolls before they tumbled out. She quickly shoved them back into the cabinet and shut the doors but Y/N got a good look at what was in there. Puppets. And scary ones.
“Okay, that’s pretty creepy,” Aang admitted as he helped Y/N back to her feet.
“She has a hobby, what’s wrong with–Sokka, stop!” Katara jogged after her brother who was now climbing the steps to the attic. Toph, Y/N and Aang followed them and watched as Sokka yanked on the door handle.
“If she’s so ordinary, why does she have a locked door?” Sokka demanded.
“Probably to keep people from snooping in her stuff!!” Katara was getting increasingly louder each time Sokka said something new, so if Hama didn’t know they were skulking around her house yet, she would now.
“Guys, we still have time to go back downstairs and act like we weren’t looking through her stuff.” Y/N was trying to placate the siblings. She really didn’t want to get kicked out of the inn because Sokka’s curiosity got the best of them. That meant more sleeping in the woods. “Let’s just go and finish putting the groceries away–”
“Yes! I got it open!” Y/N watched Sokka sheath his sword that he had just used to pick the lock and she wondered why she even tried to be the voice of reason.
Sokka picked up the box that was sitting in the middle of the empty room. “What do you think is in it?” He asked the group.
“Treasure!”
“Toph, don’t encourage him,” Katara chastised.
“It’s locked,” Sokka said with disappointment. “There’s got to be a key around here.”
“Here.” Toph took the meteorite bracelet off her arm and melded it into a key shape. Sokka handed her the box and she began wiggling the key inside the keyhole.
Aang, who initially followed Sokka into the room, started inching back towards the door. “Guys, I don’t know about this…”
Katara joined him. “This is crazy. I’m leaving.”
Y/N was caught somewhere in the middle of them. Both siblings stared her down, trying to work out who she was going to ultimately side with. On one hand she wanted to see what was in the mysterious locked box that sat in this locked room. Hama was weird and Y/N was naturally curious. Who knows what she would keep hidden away? On the other hand they were invading this woman’s privacy. Even if she was strange she had taken them in in an effort to protect them from the angry spirits kidnapping people, and if they betrayed the trust she’d given them they would be back to sleeping on the ground outside.
Luckily, the choice was made for her. Y/N heard the pins click.
“Got it,” Toph smirked and gave them a thumbs up. All five of them rushed around her, trying to get the first look at what was in the box, when once again, they were startled by a voice from behind.
“I’ll tell you what’s in the box,” Hama stated.
Y/N bit her lip and looked down, not willing to meet the woman’s eyes. Sokka held the box out guiltily in front of him. Hama opened the top and pulled out a comb.
“This is my greatest treasure. The last thing I own from growing up in the Southern Water Tribe.”
---
“I’m excited for you to try Southern Water Tribe food.”
Y/N looked up from where she was setting the table for dinner. Sokka was fiddling with a spoon, messing up what she had just set out.
She giggled. “Excited? Why?” She slid the rest of the silverware towards him to finish and began working on setting out the plates.
Sokka spun a fork in his hand before setting it down. He moved it around until it was more than perfectly straight, ignoring her question. The tips of his ears were turning red. Finally when he spoke, his voice was sheepish. “Maybe you can come visit me. You know, if you like it.” He didn’t meet her eyes.
Y/N smiled. It was sweet that he was thinking of her, but he knew that just liking the food wouldn’t warrant a trip all the way to the South Pole, he wanted to know what was going to happen after the war. Y/N leaned across the table. “Even if I didn’t I’d still come visit you.”
---
Hama being a waterbender wasn’t surprising in the least to Y/N. The part that surprised Y/N–no, it was wrong to say that–the part that scared her the most, was that Hama then told them that the reason Katara had never met another waterbender from their tribe was because the Fire Nation had wiped them all out; stolen the waterbenders from their home.
Hearing the story Hama told about how she was the last waterbender to be captured, how she was led away in chains and taken to an awful prison, here in the Fire Nation, made Y/N want to cry. She wanted to cover her ears and leave the dining room so she didn’t have to know what her people had done to Hama.
And Katara and Sokka. Y/N reminded herself.
It was evil, what they had done. It was vile and Y/N felt sick about it. Oddly enough, as mad as those things made her–as awful as it felt to hear them–she welcomed the uncomfortable feeling it gave her. It reaffirmed that she was different. She had changed and that she was moving in the right direction.
Something that also soothed her was that while Hama was speaking, Sokka noticed the bouncing of her knee under the table.
Y/N always did it when she was nervous and what could make her more nervous than a woman sitting in front of her telling her story to all of Y/N’s friends about the viciousness of Y/N’s people.
Sokka reached under the table and tapped her knee with one finger. She slowed her knee to a stop and looked down at her bowl filled with soup, not able to meet his eyes, or the eyes of anyone at the table. Sokka didn’t care, he grabbed her hand from her lap and rubbed comforting circles on the back of her knuckles. On one hand she was thankful for it, but that little voice in the back of her mind told her that she should be comforting them. They were the ones that had been wronged. She should be begging for their forgiveness. The back and forth of it all was beginning to become exhausting.
---
Y/N caught Katara in the hallway before she retreated to her room. “Hey,” Y/N’s voice was quiet, even though it was just the two of them. It was the first private conversation they’d had since their fight a week ago. Y/N didn’t realize it would be so awkward. Especially, since before their friendship had been so effortless.
“What’s up?”
Y/N was at a loss for words, she had been since dinner. She knew she wanted to say something to Katara, but now in the moment she couldn’t even remember what she had been thinking about. Y/N dug her big toe into the wood floor. “I guess I just wanted to say that I’m happy for you. Finding Hama was a blessing but then, you know, she turns out to be from your tribe and it’s just really amazing–sorry I’m rambling–” Y/N pinched the bridge of her nose and tried to get back on track. “I guess what I’m trying to say is you should learn everything she has to offer to you. You told me the other day that you wanted more, more than healing, more than the fighting you knew. This is an opportunity to connect with someone who is special to you in more than one way. I’m excited to hear what you get to learn.” Y/N ended with a small, noncommittal shrug and an embarrassed smile.
Katara, however, was not embarrassed by Y/N’s awkwardness at all. She pulled her in for a hug. “Thank you, Y/N. It means so much to hear you say that.”
“I’ve missed talking to you,” Y/N mumbled into the other girl’s shoulder.
“Me too.”
---
“I think you might be lying to me,” Sokka stated as Y/N walked ahead of him.
She jumped up to pull down a dangling leaf and turned back around to see his skeptical face looking back at her. “I swear! As we were walking to Hama’s the other night, I thought I smelled firelilies! If I can just find the trail we took maybe I could find the patch!” Y/N had been itching to do something all day. Being cooped up in Hama’s inn after weeks of traveling and doing anything they wanted was wearing thin on her patience. Evidently Sokka’s too. All Y/N had to do was ask for him to come with her and he’d jumped at the chance.
“What’s so important about some flowers anyways?” He asked, catching up with her.
“Nothing really I guess. I just haven’t seen any in forever and they only bloom in this really short window so if I miss them I’ll have to wait a whole year before I can see them again.” Of all the problems they’d come across as a group, this was by far the silliest, but firelilies were so pretty. “Ooh, wait! I think I can smell them.” Y/N stuck her nose in the air and inhaled deeply. There was just the hint of a sweet aroma that reminded her of home.
Sokka sniffed next to her. “I don’t smell anything.”
“Come on!” Y/N took off running, every now and then sniffing the air like Momo did when they would cook dinner. And then there it was. And it was much bigger than just a patch, it was a whole field of firelilies. “I told you!” She socked Sokka in the arm and ran off into the field.
---
Sokka found her sitting in the middle, surrounding herself with the flowers. She reached for one and picked it, holding it up for Sokka. “Aren’t they pretty?”
“You’re prettier.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and smiled. She tucked the stem of the one flower she had picked behind her ear and patted the ground next to her. “Come sit.”
“Since I called you pretty, does that mean I get a kiss?” Sokka sat and smiled cheekily.
Y/N hummed in thought. “Can I braid your hair?”
Sokka furrowed his eyebrows. “If I say yes do I get to kiss you then?”
“Maybe!” Y/N said brightly. She moved to kneel behind him and pulled out his wolf tail. She raked her fingers through his hair before starting to braid close to his hairline. “I really appreciate you guys,” She said quietly.
“What do you–” Sokka moved his head to turn and look at Y/N but she grabbed the sides of it and forced it to stay forward.
Her deft hands moved halfway through the braid before she spoke again. “After everything you’ve heard about what we’ve done to you. None of you think of me differently. You look at me the same–well, I guess Toph doesn’t.” Y/N laughed quietly.
“You say ‘we’ like you’re still part of the Fire Nation. Y/N, you don’t still think that you’re like them, do you?”
Her hands lingered on the last bit of Sokka’s hair. “I am Fire Nation. I was just like them, Sokka. For a long time. It’s hard to separate who I was before and who I am now, because they’re almost the same person.” She tied off his wolf tail.
Y/N rested her hands on his shoulders and stared out into the sea of red. “After hearing Hama’s story, hearing what my people did to your people, I’m just surprised you can look at me; let alone come out here and sit in a field of firelilies or let me braid your hair,”– Y/N ran a finger down the center of the braid–”or say you want to kiss me.”
When she finally sat back down she noticed Sokka’s face was crestfallen. “I don’t care that you’re from the Fire Nation,” He stressed. “You didn’t do any of those things.”
Y/N let her head fall back. She closed her eyes and felt the sun warm her face. “I know. I do. I’m just so ashamed of it.”
Soft lips pressing against hers made Y/N crack open her eyes. “One of these days you’re gonna understand how we can’t hate you for things you haven’t done.” Sokka shook his head in disbelief.
What about the things I have done? Y/N wanted to ask. Instead, she stayed silent and licked her lips, the taste of Sokka’s still lingering long after he was gone.
---
“I want everyone to know–” Y/N panted “–that I do not like this plan.”
“We know!” Toph yelled from in front of her. Y/N wished she had seismic senses, Toph ran gracefully over the dark forest floor while the other three of them tripped over roots every other step.
Y/N sword thudded heavily between her shoulder blades, that and the darkness of the night flashed terrifying images behind her eyes. All she could do to keep herself from having a full on breakdown was focus on the ties of Aang’s headband flying in front of her.
She could tell they were getting higher into the mountain; the ground was getting steeper and the trees were thinning out, the moon lighting their way. They ran until they came to the mouth of a cave.
Y/N squinted into it. “I can’t see anything.”
“That’s why you have me.” Toph grabbed Y/N’s hand in her much smaller one. Y/N reached for Sokka’s and then they were running again, except this time she was relying on the girl next to her to tell her when to jump or dodge a rock in her path, because otherwise it was pitch black.
They spent so long running through the dark that when they saw light again, it burned Y/N’s eyes. In front of them was a reinforced metal door. Toph made quick work of it, folding it into a ball as easily as one could a piece of paper. Down a short, rocky corridor was a cavern with high ceilings. Y/N stopped cold when she saw them; inside the cavern were ten, maybe twenty people chained up to the rocks. The worry on their faces was quickly replaced with relief when they saw the four of them enter.
“We’re saved!” One of the men shouted.
“I didn’t know spirits made prisons like this,” Aang muttered to no one in particular.
“It was no spirit who brought us here, it was a witch,” Another man said.
“It’s a old woman!” A woman spoke up. Toph began unlocking her chains with her makeshift key. “She looks harmless but…”
Y/N’s heart stopped. Hama. That’s why she was out in the woods and that why–
“Hama!” Sokka growled next to her. “I knew there was something off about her.”
“You guys, Katara is with her!” Y/N yelped.
A look of fear passed through Aang’s eyes. “We have to stop her!”
---
The guilt was crushing Y/N’s chest as she ran with Sokka and Aang to find Katara in the woods. Toph had stayed behind to free all of the people Hama had captured but she would be on their tails soon. Y/N felt so bad. Sokka had known something was up and she had totally disregarded what he had said, even encouraged Katara to go out with Hama! Y/N should have known. If people were going missing from the woods, why was Hama out there alone two nights ago!
Just off in the distance, Y/N could see Hama and Katara squaring off. Katara knocked the old woman to her knees and she was just rising as the three of them ran up.
“Give up! You’re outnumbered, Hama.” Aang shouted.
“No,” she said sinisterly. “You’ve outnumbered yourselves.”
Y/N’s whole body tensed as her legs went numb. She slowly marched forward even though she was desperately trying to stop. By the looks of Aang and Sokka next to her, whatever was happening to her, was happening to them too.
Y/N gasped as her arm reached back and pulled out her sword. “No! What’s happening?!” She swung at Katara but was pushed away by a blob of water before she could even get close. Y/N’s movements were stiff and she teetered over like a falling tree but whatever was controlling her muscles had her standing back up in an instant.
Over her shoulder, Y/N could hear Katara dealing with Aang, but Y/N was more concerned with what was in front of her. Y/N’s arm straightened, pointing her sword right at Sokka’s undefended chest; his own sword dangling from the tip of his fingers.
His eyes widened just a fraction. “Y/N…”
“I–I can’t stop it!” She sobbed. Y/N fought against her own body so forcefully that she thought she was going to break her arm. It was futile, her arm drew back in what would be a deadly blow, and Y/N had no say whatsoever in it. Y/N was going to kill Sokka. Her nightmares were coming true right in front of her. She did the only thing that she could think of; called out for the only person she knew could come to her aid.
“Katara, help!” Y/N screamed. She squeezed her eyes shut. If this was going to happen she couldn’t watch it. She’d die before watching herself kill someone she loved. Just as her arm swung down, Y/N regained control. Y/N twisted her wrist and stabbed her sword straight into the dirt. She fell onto her hands and knees, her legs no longer able to hold her up.
Y/N looked up in horror to see that Hama’s body was contorting just as hers had been seconds earlier. Hama fought it, but much like Y/N, it was useless. She glared at someone behind Y/N. A shudder rolled through Y/N’s body when she turned to see Katara’s determined face as she used her bending on Hama.
Y/N didn’t move from her spot. She watched from her knees as Hama was led away in chains by her previous captives, sputtering drivel about how Katara had betrayed her culture by saving the little Fire Nation girl. Y/N was enraged. Most of her anger was directed at herself. She’d become complacent, she’d allowed even welcomed Hama into their lives and hurt Katara by doing it, judging by the crying she could hear behind her. Y/N had encouraged Katara to learn from her without even knowing this woman. The way Hama had used Katara, well, Y/N thought this might have been one time she wouldn’t have been afraid to use her sword on someone.
Over and over Y/N had proven to herself that she was the worst judge of character. When would she learn that trust was earned and not given freely to every person who asked for it?
---
A/N: because I always feel like I have to give a reason of why I do what I do, I know Sokka and Y/N hold hands in like every single scene together but I feel like they’re both young enough that 1) they feel like they have to show each other affection in some type of way and 2) it’s also really grounding for them? Sokka’s love language is touch (fight me if you think otherwise) and Y/N likes that he likes it/while also using it as a tool to calm herself in frightening or upsetting moments :)
