#I’d put it all on the table for you Mihawk

Aight. While I’m still delirious and careless, I’m gonna say it:
I would do Things™️ to Mihawk for the mere fact he killed off Don Krieg so I wouldn’t have to sit through an agonizingly drawn-out fight. As a treat.

CROCODILE X GN!TIMID/SHY!READER X MIHAWK
Tumblr media
Shuffling through your papers, your hands shook and nearly made you drop all of them. It was the first time you’d ever been complicit in a Warlord meeting.
They usually didn’t let you into these kinds of meetings since you were just a lower rank, but still a bit higher than cadets. Only reason you were here is because Sengoku got sick with something and Garp is too busy trying not to choke on rice crackers to deliver this speech.
Sighing, you mumbled words of assurance tk yourself, “it’s fine, I got this. I got this.” you tried and tried, but it only seemed to make you more afraid and aware of you soon being in the presence of the seven deadliest pirates of the sea… well… apart from the four Yonkou’s, that is.
Twisting the knob to the room where they usually held these kinds of things. All seven warlords were sat around a table, some chattering about, some paying zero mind. The babbling consisted of Gecko Moria trying to threaten Bartholomew Kuma… and he wasn’t reacting, only sitting through his Bible he carried at all times.
Thankfully they didn’t seem to pay mind to you… besides two of them. By far some of the most intimidating of the two, Dracule Mihawk, and Crocodile.
Mihawk’s eyes bore into you as you walk past, golden eyes piercing into the back of your head as if he was skimming you with them. Choking back a shudder, you sped-walk towards Garp, who was, of course, eating rice crackers. You two whispered among each other; and thankfully, he had that relationship with you that calmed your severe anxiety. You saw him as a grandfather in a way… even if not blood related..
Letting out a little sigh, you positioned yourself in front of the table, clearing your throat and catching the attention of all seven of the pirates.
“I.. uhm-.. as you all likely know, there’s been a spike in pirate attacks and raiding in the east blue… we’ve tried stationing marine galleons in those areas but there seems to be some that are infiltrated and firing at marine ships that come in. As much as we’d like to limit violence as much as we possibly can and put an end to those pirates reins; we do need your help. We ask you to please, if possible, go into the East blue and search for their marine galleons that have been hijacked. We understand this is likely frustrating we’ve had to call on all of you do many times..-“
Your speech was cut off by Doflamingo, to which you fought back a sneer at his audacity.
“So you want us to go beat around some low-lives, that’s it? Fufufu… and might I ask what you of all people are delivering this speech for. I thought it was supposed to be Sengoku blabbering on. Not a pretty thing such as yourself… such a shame you ended up in the marines, though.” He scoffed. You couldn’t help but recognized the not-so-discreet glares from Mihawk and Crocodile sent his way… they were just oozing with Conquerer’s Haki.
“Please allow me to finish my speech, then we can talk afterwards…” you say meekly.
“But why? I’m just stating how it’s a waste of such a beauty as yourself getting pushed into the Marines like this. Why don’t you come back to my kingdom with me, I promise I’ll treat you right and make you feel bliss you’ve never f—“ with that, Garp had cut him off, “I’d like to ask you to please be quiet as Y/N said; save any questions for after they are done giving their speech.”
You gave a quiet ‘thanks’ to Garp, resuming your speech.
The meeting flew by faster than you thought… and you were thankful for that.
You skittered out of the room… after you have the speech Garp had promised to let you go around town for a bit… you slipped off your uniform and slid yourself into a black tank top and some cargo shorts.
Shuffling out of your room and out of the marine base, you wandered aimlessly around town; not having any goal in mind besides just looking around.
“Hello.”
You nearly jumped out of your skin when you heard a voice behind you.
A smooth, soft voice may you add.
Spinning around you nearly stumbled and fell, catching yourself clumsily.
“My apologies for startling you, cosa bonita.” You recognized the man as Dracule Mihawk. His cold, golden eyes were unblinking, staring into your very soul… it was no wonder he was called ‘Hawk-Eye Mihawk’.
“Oh.. uhm. That’s fine.” You’d mutter.
There was an awkward silence.
“Well, uhm… it was nice talking to you..” you turned to leave, shuddering when you felt his cold, calloused hand grab your wrist. “Wait, cariño, por favor. I have a proposition… one I believe you might be interested in.” His words lingered in your mind.
A deal? What was he about to say…
“Don’t scare the poor thing. They’d be better off with me anyhow, considering how freaky your place is.”
This time, a rougher voice. In a gust of sand whirling around, you covered your eyes with your arm, shielding then from the whipping sand until it formed a person, Crocodile. You could see the curl of Mihawk’s nose; offended by Crocodile’s backhanded insult… you felt meek. You were practically sandwiched between these two warlords.
“I’ll have you know.. the gothic architecture of my home is authentic.” You could hear the sass in Mihawk’s voice…
“Wait..- Wait, What Are you two talking about..? Does this have to do with Mihawk’s.. uh.. proposition?”
“The proposition. Right. How forgetful of me, mi amado.” Mihawk said thoughtfully. “I would like you to come back with me.” Your eyes must’ve been wide as saucers… because Crocodile smirked, flicking ash from his cigar. “Seems there’s a bit of a competition. I was going to ask the same thing. You should come with me; I’d shower you with gifts of gold. You’d be the ruler alongside me.” Crocodile spoke sweetly, soothing and convincing, his hand slithering up your arm until he rested a hand on your hot cheeks.
“I don’t believe they would enjoy waking to the hot desert every day. Besides, that would be quite agitating, the sand in your eyes, si, Mi amada?” Mihawk spoke just as smoothly. “I would cook meals for you every night. We could unwind in my study and drink wine… I have the finest server to you.”
“Tch. That’s nothing.” Crocodile mused.
“That does sound lovely, really but..” you cleared your throat and stepped back. “but I’d prefer to stay here, I think. I don’t really want to leave here because I don’t really want to leave Garp behind-“
“That slag will be fine on his own.” Crocodile interrupts, biting down on the cigar in his mouth.
“I know he’ll be fine.. I mean- yeah, he’s more than capable of taking care of himself. It’s more of an emotional attachment than anything.” The two let out a quiet ‘ah’ as they listened intently, softening their posture when you’d back away. After a moment of awkward silence you scooter away, “it was a pleasure meeting you, goodbye.” Before you scurry along the streets, getting lost in the crowd of people who battered the merchant stalls and haggled.
The stress collapsed when you could smell the familiar scent of spices. Even if the streets were as crowded as they were, you still felt a sense of comfort knowing there were people around.
A horrible fear of being alone, you had.
Through the winding crowd you finally made it to your safe space among the cliff side overlooking the vast ocean, a particularly beautiful glint among the oceans currents that the sun beamed down on.
Taking out your rice cakes you packed for your lunch-break you chowed down like a starving dog.
“It seems they don’t give you proper portions of food in the marines,” you nearly squealed out of fear and choked on your rice cake, whipping around to see Mihawk looming over you.
“N-no.. they feed us proper portions—.. ᴵ ᵗʰᶦⁿᵏ..” you spoke after swallowing a large portion of the rice cake that went down quite painfully.
“Is that so. Hm. If that were the case would you not be in the mess hall, and eating the food they provide, cariño?” He questioned smoothly, standing by you, keeping eye contact with you.
It made a flush creep up your neck.
“I get really anxious when being around people—“
“But you seemed to feel quite comfortable in that crowd not much earlier,”
You pursed your lips shut, unsure what to say. When the words finally came to you, they came out much meeker than you’d wished; “I guess I’m just really anxious at work..?”
Mihawk’s eyes narrowed, royal golden eyes pierced yours. “I see.” He said simply.
You both say in a somewhat comfortable silence as you—as quietly as you could—finished your lunch. “Where’s uhm..- Crocodile?” You asked, cleaning up your area a bit. “I’m not sure where that oaf has gone. There’s no need to worry for someone as he is, Querida.” Mihawk would hum quietly.
Just as if on cue, it was like Crocodile materialized behind you two. “Don’t taint the dear’s mind, you enigmatic man. We both know they need someone with real emotion.” You had no clue what to say after it clicked in your head.
Were they truly fighting for your affection?
A few comments—mainly from Crocodile—were passed, until both turned to you.
“Well, who will you choose?”

do you have headcanons for buggy and shanks?
I’d say most of my headcanons are influenced by fan content and other people’s headcanons. I’ll see a headcanon or take and either be like yeah that’s cool or no that doesn’t seem right to me.
But since you got me thinking, I tried listing some that came to mind! Some of these are just silly or fun headcanons.
Buggy has advanced Observation Haki, and he does have the potential for Conqueror’s Haki, he’s just unaware of it and it only comes out occasionally and unconsciously. It makes him immune to other people’s Conqueror’s Haki as well.
Shanks can’t keep a stable relationship not because he’s a player, but because he’s a pretty shitty romantic partner. Shanks is a great friend and Captain to have, but as a boyfriend he will neglect you and make you do the legwork in the relationship. He needs someone like Buggy to pull him along and force him to pay attention. Buggy is the one who keep things afloat.
They genuinely tried to get over each other and move on after Loguetown. See other people and forget what was lost. But in the end, the first heartbreak between them was too strong, and neither could really get over it. They fucked over each other’s romantic prospects, unaware of what they did.
Shanks has had many offers of people willing to be his partner, to wait for him. But he could never make any promises because the moment Buggy ever came back into his life he’d drop anyone to go back to his old childhood love. 💔
Buggy used to be a pickpocket as a kid, and his obsession with stealing came from how he used to live on the streets.
Shanks used to believe all babies came from treasure chests. (Roger said it as a joke). Shanks believed it and thought he and Buggy could have their own treasure chest baby in the future. One day Rayleigh forced Roger to sit the boys down and drop the truth on them.
Since they were kids, Buggy was good at math and science, meanwhile Shanks barely knows his multiplication tables.
Their tastes are so different they love all the foods the other doesn’t like, so at meals they’re always eating off each other’s plates.
Shanks was closest to Roger, but Buggy was closer to Rayleigh and Scopper.
They we’re each other’s firsts in almost everything. Buggy first put out after the crew separated and that’s why he was especially pissed when Shanks gave up on their dream.
Shanks promised Roger before he died that he’ll take care of Buggy. He feels bad that he wasn’t able to keep his promise.
They collected every single one of each other’s bounty posters over the years. Buggy uses Shanks’ posters as target practice. Shanks keeps Buggy’s posters somewhere private where he can look at it by himself.
Buggy doesn’t give a shit about gender, he dresses how he wants. He’ll wear skirts, stockings, high heels, and of course he loves make up and accessories.
With Shanks down an arm, Buggy will just casually lend him an arm to help him with things. Pouring drinks, opening jars, helping clean and fold laundry, or even just to scratch his back. Buggy does it without thinking, and Shanks thinks it’s the sweetest thing anyone could do for him.
Shanks is obsessed with Buggy’s hair. He’ll run his fingers through it for as long as he can until Buggy shoves him away.
Buggy has drunkenly confessed to Shanks that if he had to choose a third for them, he’d choose Mihawk.
Buggy is a terrific dancer and he’s super flexible. He moves like a trainer acrobat. Shanks can do a jig but he’s not good at graceful dances like Buggy.
Buggy never wanted kids, but Uta is the exception. She’s a great performer like him, and he can teach her all of his showmanship skills. Buggy’s the type to say he hate kids, but once he actually gets one, he becomes wholeheartedly attached.
Shanks is not a frequent bather, meanwhile Buggy has a 15 step skincare, hair, and make up routine he does every morning. Buggy will forcibly drag Shanks to wash up so he doesn’t stink up the place.
Buggy is the breadwinner between the two. He brings in good money through his mercenary and weapons business and in general is good with finances. He supports Shanks who always seems to be barely escaping poverty.
They’ll fight and ‘divorce’ for the fiftieth time, but they’ll always come back to each other in the end. Shanks will re-propose after each breakup, and Buggy accepts it every time.

𓍯 HE’S MY BOYFRIEND ! ⋆ DRACULE MIHAWK ─ ⋆
Tumblr media
how to escape unwanted attention? point at a stranger and say he’s your boyfriend !
no wc ⋆ fem!reader ˖ fluff n humor ⋆ notes ˖ i’d be scared of mihawk too tbh
Tumblr media
“Need another, honey?”
You nod bashfully, sliding your empty glass across the counter to Makino, and she laughs over the loud singing in the pub. “Must’ve been a rough day then.”
Partys Bar is a little slow today, except for the incoming group of Shanks and the rest of his ragtag crew. You, however, find pleasure rather than discomfort in their off-key singing for tonight. Your friends, not that you’d ever call them that to their face, had a way with setting the ambience in this little old town.
“Oh, you have no idea.” You shake your head at Makino who stalks off to get you another pint of beer from the special barrel in the back. ‘Don’t tell Shanks n’ em.’ she’d always say. Afterall, you were her favorite customer, visiting occasionally during your lunch break or after a perilous night shift like this one.
When Makino returns with your beer, Yasopp is the first to steal the drink from your hands before you take a swig. “Hey— c’mon!”
“That’s not how you treat a lady.” Shanks, bellowing a fit of laughter, swipes the drink from Yasopp just as he tightens his fist around the handle. And just as you’re about to thank your hopeless red haired friend for returning your drink from your other hopeless fiend of a friend, he turns the glass to his head, gulping down at least half of your pint of beer.
“Shanks!” You, Makino and Yasopp scream in unison.
He hiccups and wipes his mouth with his sleeve. “Wanna dance, or?”
Tumblr media
Half a pint later, you’re excusing yourself from a mini crowd of bar goers and the world’s dumbest pirates, throat a little hoarse from singing along to some song Shanks made up a few minutes ago, rocking to the beat and laughing with tears wetting the corner of your eyes.
With a harsh inhale, you wipe a trickle of sweat from your brow as you make your way to a vacant corner to get some air, having exhausted all your energy.
“Shanks, get off my table!” Makino screams over the singing and you chuckle, taking a seat as you watch the antics from afar, a hand propped against your jaw with a dopey little smile.
“You one of the Red Haired’s girls?”
You turn your head to the source of the question, eyebrow raised. A man, who you assume is just a bar patron, hair soiled and grinning, leans against the window a few feet away from you.
One of the Red Haired’s girls?
“Excuse me?”
He chuckles, and shakes his head, which you assume is his washed up version of an apology for being so crass. “Just sayin’, don’t want no pirate tryna kick my ass over ya.”
“I’m not anyone’s property.” You quip, bored. He’s got some nerve, you think.
Despite this, he pushes himself off the wall and walks over to where you’re seated.
“You’ve got a smart mouth on ya.” He says, and you glance to the side for a moment, immediately perturbed.
“I like that. Think I could put it to use?” He grins at you, and you think you’ll just stand up and punch him yourself. You roll your eyes and push your seat back to stand up—
“I have a boyfriend, sorry for the inconvenience.”
You look at the man up and down and inwardly gag. He doesn’t seem to get the memo though as he remains planted in front of you, practically refusing to move out of your way.
“Boyfriend? I don’t see him anywhere.”
He almost wants to laugh at you. A pretty girl like you with no boyfriend?
You panic. Immediately you take a look around. Shanks and the Red Haired’s are still partying up a storm. You don’t see Makino behind the counter.
“My boyfriend’s over there.” You blurt out, outstretching an arm, index finger pointing accusingly into the mini crowd to your left, out of your field of vision. “Oh really?” The man scoffs, turning his head in the direction of your finger.
You don’t know why, but the man’s mouth falls agape.
“Uh huh.” You reaffirm, standing tall. Whatever it was, it was working. “And he’s got a temper on him too, so I suggest you—”
“That’s not your boyfriend.” He grabs at your wrist, calling your bluff and your index folds into your fist. You’re going to kick his ass yourself then. “Now be a doll and—”
“Are you stupid?” A voice echoes behind you.
The man in front of you looks over your shoulder at the intrusion, and his eyes squint to slits to make out whoever just spoke in the dark. “The fuck did you just say to me?”
“I asked if you were stupid.” The man who interrupted steps between you and the other man. His height obstructs your view of anything in front of him. “But clearly you’re deaf too.”
A white East Blue dress shirt, long sleeved, unbuttoned. You can see his shoulder blades flex in the dim light if you squint just right. From here, you think he’s impossibly structured.
Who even is this guy?
“She your girl or somethin’?” The scum steps up, yanking away his grip on your wrist. The force of it almost sends you flying into him.
“So you are deaf.” Moonlight streams through the window, and you catch a glimpse of yellow, almost tinged vermillion eyes narrowing. “Choose your next words—” He speaks, head tilted to the side almost mockingly, and though it’s your assailant on the receiving end, you feel your knees almost buckle. "—very carefully."
“Y-You're—” The man’s eyes go wide and he’s already scrambling back on shaky legs, sputtering unintelligible apologies. “My bad, I didn’t— ain’t know she was your girl, man.”
“Leave.”
He doesn’t need to be told twice.
Tumblr media
A breath of silence sits once the creep is gone, and the man who came to your rescue stalks forward to walk away, his job complete. But you stop him.
“Thankyou—” you blurt out, and he stops mid-walk, as if he knows you have more you want to say. “Sorry about roping you into that silly little lie…” your words trail off, hesitant.
Why are you so nervous?
“You shouldn’t apologize for scum like him.” He says, back still turned to you.
God, you wish he’d turn around.
“Your wrist—” he begins, turning his head to look over his shoulder at you, and you freeze. “How is it?” His gaze feels like it’s cutting you in half.
You take a small step forward, considerable space between you both. “I’ll live.” You say, rotating your wrist a few times for him to see, a shy smile reaching your lips. “Who–”
“Does it matter—" He finishes, answering your question before you even get the chance to ask. If even possible, your curiosity grows. "—who I am?"
“You kind of helped me out of a rough spot there.” You reason, and he shakes his head.
"You didn’t need me.” He replies.
In the dim lighting of the bar you can make out the angle of his jaw, the apex of his throat, and most noticeably, the wide brimmed fedora sitting atop his head, almost elegantly.
“It was a courtesy.” He turns to face you, and despite yourself, you persist.
He gazes down at you, posture straight, gold plated belt held by crimson thread, beard angled in a perfect line, mustache the same. He seems bored, like he’s lived a thousand lives before. You want him to tell you about each one.
“Tell me your name.”
He makes a noise in the back of his throat that you can’t hear too well from here. “Don’t people ask for things they want?” You assume he found you funny. The thought of a man like him laughing makes your stomach do a flip.
“Can’t I want to know your name?” You hum, eyes meeting his. It’s a struggle to meet his gaze. “Don’t do that.” He urges, eyes narrowing, as if he’s considering you.
“Do what?”
“Act unassuming. You could’ve easily gotten rid of him yourself.” He says, and you gape at him for a moment, then smile even wider. “And what makes you say that?”
You eye the golden crucifix hung around his neck, the cross rising then hitting his chest softly as he takes a step towards you. “You thought about it. I saw it in your eyes.”
You laugh, just a little bit, and he’s not in any way offended, rather, he’s intrigued by you.
“So you’ll tell me that but not your name?”
“You’re inquisitive.”
“You’re enabling.”
Across the room, Shanks leaps from a table, causing a ruckus, both of you avert your eyes for a moment at the noise. When he looks back, you’re already staring at him. That alone makes him raise an eyebrow at you.
“Why did you help me then?” You ask.
“I told you, it was a courtesy.” He replies, almost as if he’s holding something back. With a grunt beneath his breath, which you assume is a curt farewell, he prepares himself to leave.
But for some reason, he waits.
You look up at him with a childish grin. “What?”
He turns away, almost bashfully, “Mihawk,” he murmurs. “Dracule Mihawk.”
You’re ready to chide him about giving in so easily, but he's already turned to leave.
“Will I see you again sometime, Mihawk?” you ask, and he slows his steps, the softest twitch of a smirk on his lips.
“Maybe, if you need a pretend boyfriend again.”
Oh, you’ll see him again.
Tumblr media
BONUS :
"YOU MET MIHAWK??"
“You know him?”
Shanks is folded over a table after listening to your story, drunk off his ass. He can barely talk without hiccuping.
“They're friends of sort…” Yasopp grumbles, slouched on the floor, sobering up slowly.
“That hiccup bitch wants to hiccup kill me!”

[One Piece Headcanons] OP Boys -> when some guy asks them if you're single
Part One | Part Two
Characters: Luffy, Sabo, Killer, Shanks, Mihawk
Tags: reader-insert, gender-neutral reader, overprotective, possessive, jealousy, violence
Author’s Note: Thanks for all the likes and reblogs. I appreciate all the love! 💖
MONKEY D. LUFFY
Easily gets distracted. The guy asks about you, and all Luffy can think about at that moment is spending time with you.
The question doesn't process in his head until the man asks it several times.
And even then, Luffy misunderstands.
He doesn't mean to make the other guy jealous, but he so does.
"You're their Captain, right?" the man addresses the straw hat pirate.
"Yup! I'm Luffy, the man who will become the Pirate King!"
"Right... I was wondering, y'know, as their captain... Are you aware if they have a special someone?"
"They? Oh - they're amazing, aren't they!" Luffy compliments you, ignoring the man's question, "I'm actually supposed to be helping them with their training! Maybe I should do that right now, huh?"
"No - That's not what I asked. I mean, do you know if they have a special someone?" The man attempts to steer the conversation back to his intended topic.
"Special... someone?" Luffy's eyebrows furrow in confusion before comprehension sets in, "Ah, I get it! Their crew! Their crew is special to them!"
The man looks at Luffy in disbelief, "No! That's not what I meant-"
Before the guy can get his point across, Luffy extends his rubber arms to fling himself across the island, directly crashing into your unsuspecting body.
"Luffy - what!?" you shout in surprise.
Luffy responds by wrapping his arms around you in a full-body hug, his signature 'shishishi' laughter ringing in your ears.
From across the island, the man observes your exchange with the straw hat pirate, disappointment and jealousy etched into his face.
SABO
He’s an absolute troll.
Messes with the guy by pretending to be clueless.
Ends up acting like a seemingly psychotic, overly possessive boyfriend. He's not. Trust him.
"Are they what now?" Sabo fights off the smile threatening to spill from his lips.
"Are they single?" the man repeats for the third time.
"Sorry, I can't hear you," Sabo motions to his ear, giving it a gentle tap, "I have trouble hearing. Can you please repeat that?"
The man's eyes soften in pity as he repeats the same question for the fourth time.
"Is who single?" Sabo asks again, appearing to make every effort to understand the guy's question.
The man clarifies another time. But before he can tell the blond Revolutionary to forget about it, Sabo perks up in feign recognition.
"Oh! Are they single?"
"Yes! You got it," the man exclaims, satisfied that his question finally got through.
Sabo taps his chin in thought, "Not that I know. Though I heard rumors that the guy they're with is a really fearsome man. Not someone you want to mess with."
The guy deflates at Sabo's response, "Are they now? They a pirate or a Marine... or something?"
"Mmm... Something like that," Sabo's fingers tap against the table in front of him, gloved hands obscuring the flames beneath his fingertips, "Ever heard of the Revolutionaries?"
The man nods in acknowledgment. "Rumors and the like. Never seen them myself, though."
"Same here," Sabo says absentmindedly. He motions for the other guy to lend him an ear, leaning over for a whisper.
"I would watch myself if I were you. Don't want to anger a group of strangers you don't know much about."
The man flinches away at Sabo's warning - or threat; the man wasn't sure. Sabo gives him a friendly smile in return, convincing the other guy that it may have just been a well-meaning warning between two close friends.
"G-gotcha. Thanks," the guy abruptly stands up, motioning toward the exit, "I better get going."
"It was nice to meet you, friend," Sabo calls out, his friendly smile morphing into a sinister one at the man's retreating figure.
KILLER
The definition of cool, calm, and collected.
Immediately becomes suspicious of the other man for asking about you.
Puts-thinking-cap-on.gif.
What does this strange man want with you? Why did he ask Killer in particular? What would this man do if you were already taken? Would he still try to pursue you?
Spends some time pondering but concludes that action needs to be taken.
Investigates your unwanted suitor and discover their malicious intentions.
In the end, Killer's cautiousness pays off.
Any chance they're single?
"..."
The Supernova's silence disturbs the other man, his eyes settling on the crowded room in makeshift comfort.
The sound of a gruff voice startles the guy into focus, body twitching in anxiety when he looks into the Massacre Soldier's expressionless mask.
"I don't know them," Killer says with finality.
It was impossible to read the Supernova's true disposition. His body appeared relaxed enough; arms splayed out in front of him in a civil manner. If it weren't for Killer's daunting presence and notoriety, the man would think that this blond-haired guy was your average pirate. For now, he had no choice but to conclude that Killer was telling the truth.
"Okay... Never mind then," the man awkwardly responds, leaving the tavern in displeasure.
- - - - - - - - - -
A masked figure looms over the inn you were resting at, sharp blades glinting under the moonlight. The Massacre Soldier himself was on guard tonight, eyes trained on the familiar body of the man who disturbed his peace earlier in the night.
Before your unwanted suitor can enter the lodge, Killer pulls him by the lapels, swiftly dragging the man into the back of the building - out of sight from prying eyes.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Killer says, muscled arms encircling the man's throat in warning.
The man clutches at the knife tucked underneath his coat and wildly swings his weapon at his assailant.
With little effort, Killer disarms and knocks out his opponent, searching the man's unconscious body for clues to his motive. Killer pulls out a slip of paper from the man's pocket and unfolds it. There's no mistaking it - a copy of your bounty poster - the price of your head neatly printed underneath your name.
"Tsk, should've known you were up to no good."
Another body to add to the Massacre Soldier's list.
SHANKS
Proud boyfriend™ alert.
He loves to gush about you. The fact that someone recognizes how beautiful and amazing you are - he's thrilled.
Shank's constant praise of you begins to wear down on the guy; he gets the message that the red-haired pirate is implying - to leave you alone.
Shanks flashes a lazy grin at the man beside him; attention renewed at the mention of your name. "Gorgeous brain and body, what's not to love, aye?"
Your potential suitor nods in agreement.
Shanks looks past the man and makes eye contact with you. You were happily conversing with his crew, enjoying their company at the local tavern while in town to replenish some supplies for the upcoming journey.
The red-haired pirate winks in your direction, and you fluster under his flirty gaze. Shank's eyes twinkle in amusement at your shy demeanor.
The man across from Shanks looks back and forth between you and the red-haired pirate; his mouth opens and closes at the implication of your relationship.
"That one's mine," Shanks answers the man's unspoken question, waving over the barkeeper for another round of drinks, "But I'd love to tell you more about them."
DRACULE MIHAWK
The only classy one.
Doesn't take offense to the question, doesn't beat around the bush, and doesn't threaten the other guy for asking about your relationship status.
If the other man has bad intentions, Mihawk will know. And he will take action.
His entire being is enough to intimidate most people, after all.
A-are they single?
Mihawk casts an uninterested glance at the man standing a few feet away from him.
Nowadays, there were only a handful of people who dared approach the World's Greatest Swordsman - the Marines and Shanks.
Rumors were circulating that the former Warlord had been traveling the seas with you - that the normally lone-wolf pirate had acquired a companion to accompany him in his seafaring journey.
Oh, how clueless they were.
"Yes, we're in a relationship. Them and I," Mihawk states, taking a refined sip from his wineglass.
"I-I see. Thank you," the man bows before briskly running in the opposite direction, away from the black-haired pirate's piercing golden eyes.
The next day, Big News Morgan publishes your relationship with the infamous pirate for all the world to read.
Mihawk's eyes widen imperceptibly at the newspaper clutched in his hands.
Maybe this is for the best, he thinks. If there's anyone who can keep you safe, it's him.

Could I get Mihawk with the Unlucky Confessing Feeling (Bad ending?) Would be interesting to see in Modern :o With fem!reader please!
Oooh I do like a sassy Mihawk so.
Mihawk x Fem!Reader SFW Prompt: Confessing Feelings [Bad Ending] MODERN AU Word Count: 662
Tumblr media
You knew he tolerated you, you were good at your job, did what was asked of you, never made mistakes, sometimes you thought Mihawk just kept you around because it was easier then going through all the trouble of training someone else.
Though part of you hoped, wished that he did enjoy your company. The way his cold eyes would narrow at everyone else, how he’d wave people off with the flick of his wrist. Not you though. How you sat at his side in meetings, you felt like his equal.
Chest puffed out in pride when he turned to face you, waiting for your opinion, your word mattered to him. He always seemed interested when you began to tell him what you thought, how you would go about the issue.
Your words were what swayed his own decisions, you knew how highly Mihawk thought of you over so many others. That was one of the things that had given you this fake hope, this little flicker of light deep down in your chest.
Wanting him to feel the same, so badly you’d taken every little piece of kindness he’d showed you, stored it away in your heart for safe keeping, letting the flame grow bigger and bigger. The warmth it provided kept you going.
He bought you gifts, telling you it was because he was pleased with your work ethic, that without your say he could have picked the wrong choice. It was wonderful to feel so on top of the world, to be such a part of his world.
Mihawk would sometimes bring you a drink in the morning, wordlessly setting down the takeaway cup on your desk before heading to his own. All these gestures from a man like Mihawk just gave you all these delusions of shared feelings.
The working day was running into the night, the man looking over his documents with a sigh, such a small sound you almost missed it. You tried not to make noise yourself, scribbling down some notes and passing him a form.
“I think this is the one we keep overlooking” You mumbled watching the handsome man slide it closer to himself, sharp eyes skimming over it, flipping it back to front a few times, taking in your notes.
“Good catch, I think we are just about done here, want to get a late dinner?” He asked as he collected up his notes, placing them into his fancy leather briefcase, not watching how your face showed an array of emotions.
“Dinner?”
“Dinner”
“Hey boss, I need to tell you something” You started, picking up your own bits and pieces, shoving them away into your much less impressive folders, stuffing them into your bag.
Mihawk said nothing, just paused in his packing up to wait for you to get what you needed to off your chest, you took a breath and collected up some pages, making a show of tapping them on the table to try and steady your nerves.
“I’m sorry if I’ve been misreading the signals, I sometimes do that, but I just need to tell you, I have feelings for you, ones that might seem unprofessional to have but I needed you to know” You didn’t look up, gripping the papers in your hands till the sheets creased.
“Silly girl” His voice was monotone, devoid of emotions as he carried on packing up, putting on his jacket, walking to the coat rack to find his coat and fancy hat.
“The only feelings I had for you were admiration of your competence, I’m sorry you felt there was anything more than that, you’re not going to make this awkward, are you? I’d hate to have to hire someone else”
His cold indifference shot through your heart like an arrow, you shook your head, finishing up with your papers, stuffing them into your bag as you dutifully trot along behind the tall elegant man. It had all been in your head….

Mihawk Having A Strained Relationship With His Masculine! Daughter
Tumblr media
Request : sorry if this is VERY specific but can i request a scenario or headcanons where mihawk has a daughter who is very masculine and dresses very princely that people often mistake her for a boy. (bonus if she has a pet raven🥺) and she acts like mihawk but she hates being compared to him because their relationship is strained because mihawk was always busy with other things when she was growing up. but mihawk tries his best to get back on his daughter's good side and so they can be close again ??
Tumblr media
A/N : tried something different- do you prefer me posting fics this way or the way I had prior? - thanks for requesting, I hope I did this right. ;-;
I deeply apologize if this seems offensive somehow. It isn’t my intention at all.
Summary : Mihawk attempting to fix his relationship with his masculine! daughter.
-
“So strong-looking and stoic. As expected of Hawkeye Mihawk’s son.”
“Son? I recall him having a daughter.”
“Is it a daughter? He doesn’t look like a female..”
Hearing the many whispers among the crows, you tilt your head to the left to eye them, your sharp, empty and intimidating eyes startling them.
Immediately the two strangers kept their mouths shut and strolled off before you could do anything to them.
Exhaling out in annoyance, you turn back to your teacup, handle gripped between your fingers.
Karasu, your raven, sat on the edge of the table in front of you, standing still and waiting for you, whilst basking in the shade given by the umbrella hung up.
You sat outside alone, hoping to be given the peace of quietness on this island you passed by,
but of course, being the only child of the strongest swordsman in the world and a Warlord, you definitely weren’t going to be allowed that.
Dracule Mihawk..
Dracule [Name]..
You despised the name.
You absolutely hated everything that made you related to the infamous swordsman.
It seemed obvious to you as well, that Mihawk despised being related to you. Being your father.
There was never a time where Mihawk would venture away from his castle and not be questioned about you. About his thoughts on your growing strength and fame in the New World.
Same with you. You weren’t sure how news even came out that you were related to him, considering the amount of effort you put to cut ties with him.
Yet people knew, and people asked questions. Lots and lots of questions. Irritation grew easily with you when Mihawk’s name was heard at all.
Even Marines were getting involved with you, even if you weren’t a pirate.
Just merely a traveler, attacking both pirates and marines that stood in your way and to cure boredom.
You never were and never will be given a normal life.
“... Let’s get going, Karasu. Before we get kicked out for scaring customers away.”
The caw of your raven was heard and you smile slightly, the corner of your lip twitching upward as you let him rest on your shoulder before standing up.
Glancing down at your reflection in the small teacup, your lips curl back down into a slight frown, seeing the resemblance indeed, to your father.
“Tch.”
You poured the tea onto the ground and slammed the cup on the table, sucessfully shattering it.
Tumblr media
The mutterings didn’t stop. Not that you expected them to. But it was irritating.
Didn’t these people have anything better to do then constantly talk and gossip about you, right in front of you no less?
“Should we get going to our next trip?” You mumble, walking around the coast of the island you were on, needing some peace from the citizens in town.
Mindlessly wandering, your thoughts were interrupting by a messenger bird.
( I forgot what it’s called— it’s not a news coo right? )
Karasu cawed at it, the messenger bird cawing back as it flew down towards you, and dropped an item into your hands.
“A delivery? From who?”
It was a letter, along with a eternal pose.
To Kuraigana Island.
Immediately recognizing the name, your grip tightened on the item, frustration and even anger quickly building up at you at the sight of it.
Leaving it alone for the moment, your eyes turn to the letter.
No signature or anything of the sorts. Just your name.
“[Name].”
Scoffing slightly, you carefully held the eternal pose and opened the letter and read it, the smallest part of your praying it wasn’t what you thought.
-
“[Name].
I heard you were in the area. I apologize that I cannot come see you in person, as I am occupied with other matters. However, I’d like to speak with you. Come to my castle and we shall discuss matters. I’ve sent you an eternal pose to guide you. Expect to see you soon.
Best Regards, Mihawk”
-
You then turn to the eternal pose, the engraving of the island name across it. You wanted to break it, destroy it completely from your sight but you couldn’t. You didn’t know why.
After disregarding you, throwing you off and pushing you aside to focus on himself, always neglecting you, why.. why did he want to patch things up now?
The whites of your knuckles were seen from how hard you were gripping the letter, nearly crumpling it.
“Tch. All these years, why now?... doesn’t even have the decency to come see me himself.. ‘other matters’..”
No matter how much you wanted to ignore the letter, to shatter the eternal pose and completely ignore your father forever.. you just couldn’t.
Something in you was demanding to see him one last time.
Either, to hear what he has to say, to finally ask him why he even had you if he wasn’t going to care for you, or perhaps shout at him for all the pain and misery you’ve been given being his child, you weren’t quite sure.
“Damn it.”
Crushing up the letter into a ball, you shove it into your pocket and glance down at the eternal pose.
You were going to visit him.
Tumblr media
“Holy..shit..”
Admittedly, you were in awe.
Perhaps it was because you didn’t remember much, but the island was probably one of the best things you’ve ever seen.
The appearance seemed gloomy and dark, but it was just your style. The many trees that surrounded the center of the island and the giant castle with a beautiful view, you were sure of it.
Forcing yourself to ignore the actually really cool place, you trudge forward to look at the letter in your hands, Karasu resting on your shoulder.
“It’s not that cool.. we’ll take a look around after we see what the hell he wants from me..” you could only scoff so you wouldn’t give in to the aesthetic.
But it looked really cool.
Sighing, you continue forward and finally made it to the gate fo the castle, just to find someone sitting there on the step, holding three swords.
He was laying down, panting heavily. His green hair and forehead was soaked with sweat.
Though, it seemed as if he heard you because he snapped up within seconds and held out one of his swords towards you.
“Who the hell are you?”
Your brows furrowed at the male. He seemed around your age, or maybe a bit younger. Either way, he was weird.
“Uh.. I’m here for Mihawk.” You mutter, clearly not threatened nor intimidated by him. In actuality, the swordsman was a bit taken back.
To him, you were just some guy with weird tastes in clothes, since they seem so fancy and royal, and had such a dark aura, resembling Mihawk.
“What’s your business with Hawkeye Mihawk?”
“Are you his guard dog or something?”
The swordsman only scowls are your retorted question and clicks his tongue. “I’m his apprentice, dumbass.”
It made him even more annoyed at your stupid raven constantly staring at him with its sharp eyes and cawing every few seconds towards him.
“Like I’d know that, you stupid...green-hair weirdo.” You stare at him weirdly before walking past him before he could say anything.
He started to shout a few profanities but you simply ignore him, passing a pink-haired female with an umbrella and a teddy-bear along the way, but you paid no mind to her or her stares and calls.
Rubbing your temple, you started to question your choice of coming, and your ‘father’s’ choice of apprentice and his pink-haired girlfriend, you were assuming.
Looking around the hall as you walk, you just sigh and admired the interior design whilst muttering on how the hell you were supposed to know which room he was in.
Feeling lost, you groan a bit, turning to Karasu. “Karasu, should we just go? I have no idea where the hell I am.”
Finding a door, you walk over to it and open it abruptly, pushing it open just to find the person you were looking for.
The noise made Mihawk look up from his book in his hand and he stands up almost immediately when he realizes who it was.
“...”
“...”
You two just stared at each other, unable to say anything. Unable to handle the silence, you just turned and went to walk out, until he spoke.
“[Name].”
It nearly made you jump but you, fortunately, didn’t.
Slowly turning back, Mihawk gestures to the couch with the tilt of his head, before going over to a table drawer.
Whatever he was doing, you ignored as you reluctantly close the door behind you but let Karasu outside of the room to wait.
Slowly and cautiously, you went over to the couch and just stood beside it, not really feeling the need to sit down.
Mihawk returns, clutching a small wrapped box in his hand.
“...how was the journey? Did you come across any unwanted miscreants?”
“..naturally. It was handled with ease.. the journey was fine.” You mutter, forming your lips into a tight line as you frown.
Mihawk nods once at you and eyes your form, while you eye the box, wonder what it could be.
Then, he spoke up again. “Thank you for coming.”
“Don’t get your hopes up, I’m not expecting any good news to result from this. Whatever you want, just say it so I can leave.”
You turn away from him, establishing the harshness and bitter feeling you felt towards him which he understood. He didn’t deserve any kindness you had to offer.
Though he didn’t voice it aloud, he was a bit impressed with how you grew up. You truly did seem like one powerful force to be reckon with, almost on the same level as himself. You had potential.
There was regret building up in him seeing you though. The fact that you grew up to be someone so strong like you were now..
.. but he didn’t aid in any of that. He wasn’t there and he couldn’t help raise you be the person you were now.
“Are you going to keep staring or start speaking?”
Though he didn’t appreciate your sass, he understood it. “I’ll get straight to the point then.”
“..I.. have no excuse for neglecting you.”
Mihawk admits, slowly taking a seat in his chair. He closed his eyes for a brief moment before opening them.
“Other than that I’ve kept myself busy and away from you. I’ve been losing focus, settling matters on the side than focusing my attention on you.” He stood up again, gripping the box.
Your fists clenched at his words, mind recalling painful memories you’ve suppressed.
“But, before I could realize that I should be caring for you, you were already distant from me. I’ve became someone you despised even at such a young age.”
He continues, slowly stepping towards you as he holds out the wrapped box in his hand, which you slowly took.
“..You dress nice.” He nods at the outfit, appreciating the look. “I’ve had Shanks ask me if I had a son, since he’s also seen you on the news lately. I made sure he’d remember that you are my daughter.”
He didn’t judge you for looking so masculine. He accepted who you are as a person.
Finally stepping in front of you, gently placing a hand onto your shoulder.
“...Mi hija...I don’t expect you to forgive me.” He states firmly, looking down at you. You look up at him, trying to stay calm but it wasn’t working.
“But I’d like to be back into your life, a different way than the first time. However, I understand if you refuse it. Whatever you choose, I shall respect and go with you. I just want you happy.”
You weren’t the sentimental, emotional or sensitive type, but, tears slowly brimmed your eyes hearing him.
You hated the familiar ache in your chest, it pounding inside you and felt like it was ripping you to pieces..., yet, you weren’t angry.
Happy? He wanted you to be happy?... what did feeling happy feel like? Was the thought of finally having this father figure back into your life after missing it for so long, a reason to be happy?
Quietly, you just look down at the box that has your name written over it.
Opening it, you lift the top up and saw the all too familiar necklace inside. A gasp escaped your lips as you look up at Mihawk, realizing what it was and you whispered out.
“You’re giving this to me?” There was a hint of confusion and skepticism in your tone.
Mihawk nods. “I’m handing it down to you.”
Carefully, you lift up the mini cross and pull out the blade inside it and poked your finger, seeing it pricking the skin with ease and blood trickling down.
It was the real thing. And it was just as amazing as you always expected.
You close it back up and set it down onto the table beside you, forcing yourself to contain your excitement.
Though you hated him, you often saw photos of him and saw his familiar cross. Even when you were younger, his mini blade in his cross was extremely cool to you and you always wanted it.
And now he was giving it to you.
“Father, I..”
“I’m aware I may not have been the best father. But I plan on being a good one from now on.. if you’ll allow me to.” Seeing how serious and stoic his expression was, made your tears start to stream down your cheeks.
You were silent for a minute.
“..why now?”
It was all you could ask, you wiping your tear-stained cheeks as you look down, uncertain of how you should react.
How could you react?
Were you willing to give this man a second chance into your life, after he blatantly ignored you the first time?
Or were you going to reject the opportunity of finally experiencing what having a father was like?
Mihawk stares at you for a moment, an unreadable expression across his face before he closed his eyes. “..I’ve been watching you through the news, watching your bounty grow.. I.. I’m proud of how far you’ve come and how much you’ve grown.”
Your eyes widened.
Proud?
Tears streamed down your cheeks faster, your shutting your eyes tightly. You’ve never had someone say they were proud of you for something.
And even if Mihawk was barely in your life, the fact that he was your real father and trying to get back into your life... hearing him say he was proud of you just hit different. It snapped something in you.
“I hate you...”
Mihawk was a bit taken back but showed no emotion, slowly closing his eyes as he accepted your decision.
“I hate you for not being there for me. For not being my father when I needed you.. for leaving me alone for [—] years. For focusing more on yourself than your own child.”
He listened to every word, feeling a small pang in his heart with each statement but remained silent for you.
“But..”
You stare at him with teary eyes and a strained expression. “I’m so happy.. I’m so happy you’re changing.. to bring yourself back into my life.”
Mihawk widens his eyes just slightly, feeling an unknown heavy weight lifting off of his shoulders.
And he certainly didn’t expect you to wrap your arms around his waist tightly and hug him.
Though he was a bit uncomfortable since it was so sudden, and he wasn’t the affectionate type all too much, he quickly relaxed and wrapped his arms back around you.
“Thank you..father..”
“I should be thanking you, [Name].. for giving me a chance to be your father once more.”
His comment only made you lean closer into his touch as you shut your eyes tightly, sniffles being heard from you and staining his shirt.
But he didn’t care. Mihawk was happy. Happy to have you back into his life, and getting a second chance at fatherhood.
Tumblr media
bonus :
Perona and Zoro peek into the room from the door and watch the two hugging in the center of the room. On top of Zoro’s head sat your raven, using his hair as a nest.
“So who the hell is that?” Zoro bluntly questions and Perona flicked his head and hissed to shut him up, successfully making him quiet.
“That’s his kid, you moron!” She whispers out harshly to him as she turns back to the two.
“Why the hell is his kid here?” Zoro mutters quietly, rubbing his head, but he only received a smack.

A/N : ooc~ also wth, this is so much longer than intended— and ugh I told myself to keep it short and do headcannons so I have more time to post but ahhhhhhh ;-; this is a little rushed too~ TuT
Also let me know which way is better for posting fics. Answering it in a ask or posting it as a separate post and copying / pasting the request like so? ^ thank you!
god, I’m so soft for some platonic relationships right now, like, I’m thinking about making an event for that, when it’s near March. But I’m already doing an event for my birthday AND White Day, in March so idk :((

6. dark law, 19. Davy Back, 36. the whimsical captain trafalgar law, 55. marine pet AU!
 Oh, good eye. Those are some of my favorites.. Here is another long one under the cut. Also sorry for the late response. :D
---------------------------------o
---------------------------------o
6. Dark Law
Essentially my take (one of them at least) on what would have happened had Corazon not taken Law from the Donquixote pirates but left anyway when he thought Law had ratted him out.
Some details regarding this:
Rocinante returns to the marines and was able to submit the intelligence he'd gathered. This doesn't do much except inconvenience Doflamingo, as already acknowledged during Law and Doffy's fight.
Vergo gets discovered so he just goes back to the family.
Law does not eat the Ope Ope no mi since Doflamingo never intended for him to. At least, initially.
Because, I'm assuming, not everyone can perform the "Perennial Youth Operation," as it was stated they needed to be 'wise' or 'knowledgeable' and being a doctor does not really automatically equal that, Doflamingo had to kill the users he had chosen when none of them could do it so the fruit could go back to the circulation and he could feed it to the next potentially qualified person he could find.
Law's Amber Lead Syndrome got healed by one of these users though it was only because Law, himself, taught them how to (being familiar with the disease through his father's research as well being a good doctor)
Eventually, everyone realizes that Law is actually the most suited to wield the fruit (all the other smart doctors either having a fruit already or are simply inaccessible), certain that Law would be able to figure out how to do the ultimate technique. So, reluctantly, because he does care in his twisted conditional way, Doflamingo gives the Ope Ope no Mi to Law.
Law at this point had been raised as Doffy's right hand, all according to his plan. While he truly considers Law family and might genuinely regret making him give up his life, Doffy would still ask it from him because there is nothing more important than Doflamingo and his goals. A sentiment that almost everyone in his family considers true.
And Law... well...
Doflamingo rested both hands on Law's shoulders. His tinted glasses peering down, voice heavy with regret, "I wish there was another way."
Law's face remained impassive only broken by a small wistful twitch of his lips. It almost looked like a smile. He grasped Doflamingo's arm and directed him towards the operating table.
"You have taught me many lessons one of which was the futility of wishing for better circumstances." Law seated him and prepared his equipment.
"You taught me to take advantage of any situation by using whatever it is at my disposal." Carefully, he opened a package of sterile gloves. It wasn't really needed but the ritual of opening the pack and putting the gloves on one hand at a time always helped settle his nerves.
"I had expected you to do the same so I'd been prepared for this even before you gave me the fruit." Law lifted his eyes as he slid the first glove in place. "Don't feel too bad. I really am grateful for everything you've done for me. This is just me returning the favor."
He slid the other glove and stretched it over his hand. Softly, almost a whisper, without taking his eyes off his would-be patient, "I wish there was another way too." The snap that followed the release of the glove was too loud in the small operating room.

19. Davy Back
Early Heart Pirates stuff. And another workaround for writing with at least one of the nameless Heart Pirates.
A Davy Back Fight is initiated for an abused crew member of the opposing crew because Penguin couldn't help himself. The rules are a work in progress, hence this fic's state in limbo.
I really like writing about how these guys were when starting out. They probably looked too adorable, to be honest, so in the harsh North Blue they must have had a hard time getting treated seriously. Not that that would have bothered them (I honestly think they exploited it a lot.)
The enemy captain stared intently at each Heart Pirate then at the list of members given to him. The man didn't bother controlling the upward curl of his mouth.
"No powers. No weapons. Sumo wrestling with your navigator and hand-to-hand combat with your doctor."
Shachi choked and struggled a little bit to get his breathing back to normal. He waved away Penguin's hands patting his back. The pats were a little too harsh, clearly an admonishment if the accompanying glare was anything to go by.
Penguin almost felt sorry for whoever it was being matched against Law. Bepo, while just as incensed by the other crew, was way too conscious of controlling his strength to ever really hurt anyone too badly. The captain, on the other hand, could turn someone into a useless writhing lump of agony by systematically dislocating joints Penguin hadn't even known could be dislocated. Gruesome as severed body parts looked, the powers could at least make it painless.
---------------------------------o
---------------------------------o
36. The Whimsical Captain Trafalgar Law
More Heart Pirates stuff though would feature some of the allied crews as well. This is actually a series/multi-chaptered (or would be).
A Heart Pirates adventure fic where they all go along with their captain's whims all while trying to figure him out. His crew is so used to it they barely even flinch anymore.
Not to say they understand him because who knows what goes inside their captain's head. In fact, they debate that sometimes (a lot of times) the crew being divided among those who think Law has got a plan and those who think he's winging it (often switching really).
"You can't possibly tell me there's some sort of plan behind this."
More than half of the crew looked a bit skeptical, the rest looked defensive.
Clione held up his hands. "Hey, I'm not complaining. I'll follow the captain wherever same as you. But you gotta admit that there isn't always a method to his madness. He really does do things on a whim."
"I disagree. The captain's just saying that but he knows what he's doing. Pretty sure there's a reason behind all his actions..." Protests started, so Penguin amended, "...that isn't just him being a bastard on purpose because he hates someone. Which is a pretty valid reason since we are pirates."
"How about that time we raided the flour factory?" Ikkaku asked.
Penguin's reply came immediately. "Discreet incendiary." A beat. "...also he hates bread."
Before they could celebrate, Shachi interrupted, "His dislike of bread counts as a reason and since it's incidental it doesn't count as a whim."
With narrowed eyes, Clione tried again. "The monastery? Dressing up as monks."
"Medicinal plant in the courtyard bred by this one priest."
"Marineford?"
"Allowed us to get intel and allies."
"And the emergency operations without anesthesia?"
"Possible drug interaction. Emporio Ivankov and their hormone powers."
So continued their back and forth. By the end of it, Penguin and Shachi looked way too smug. Truthfully, they both agreed Law was more impulsive than he let on, often unaware of it himself. But they knew the man they chose to follow always had a plan and purpose (though not necessarily present at the start, but semantics)
---------------------------------o

55. Marine Pet AU
Haha... Another one of those difficult to explain ones. Starring the Marines (particularly the original three admirals and Sengoku), and the Shichibukai.
Uhm... So everything's the same except the Shichibukai aren't pirates. They're animals. That's it.
It starts with a wayward flamingo wearing eyewear harassing officers near one of their HQs. Also the Marines need to improve their public image. For some reason, the best they came up with is to get a mascot. Hitting two birds with one stone. (Except they can't really hit the bird. They tried)
So the Marines build a zoo or a habitat. Here are the only types of pirates the World Government can tolerate. Aren't they cute and fluffy?
The public eat it all up. It's popular so now they have to commit. And really, these animals become so important their safety and wellbeing become the higher-ups' problem.
Kizaru is having fun. Aokiji is resigned. Akainu tries (he doesn't quite know what but he'll do what's best for the Marines even if that's getting that damn flamingo away from the reptile enclosure for the tenth time that week on a Tuesday.)
Will feature other marines as well as all of the Shichibukai. All of them.
He checked the schedule and sighed deeply.
Boa, Doflamingo, Mihawk.
He had the most troublesome ones. Briefly, he contemplated just letting his subordinates handle them but quickly scrapped the idea.
He wouldn't say these animals were attached to him and the other admirals but they got more difficult to handle the lower the rank as though these creatures' egos get ruffled. It wasn't a matter of ability. It was perhaps more accurate to say that they had respect. A modicum of it.
It should be Boa's feeding time. Another sigh escaped him as he headed towards the grooming room, a room specifically made to groom Boa's food.
It took them a while to figure out the snake's preferred diet but they found it out when a stray kitten had snuck in and Boa swooped in to swallow it whole. From there they determined that she would only eat cute animals--any less adorable and she doesn't even look at it. So puppies and kittens. And maybe bunny rabbits. Which was bad from a PR perspective so they've taken to grooming rats. Put a nice lovely ribbon and brushed them so they're all fluffy.
He entered the grooming room and one of the officers assigned there took a quick look at him, glanced down the rat they were grooming, then burst to tears (they tended to get attached.) He pressed his hand to his head letting the ice cool down his budding headache. Why couldn't he have gotten Jinbe?
Thank you for playing. :)

@undcrtakiing (cont.)
"I do." He stated as he shut his eyes. Snapping his fingers togeather he put down a wanted poster of Ace on the table. The wanted poster prominent in it's full view as he coldly stared up at the marine." With this boy we can lure the pirates out of the city. The majority as I've heard are apart of whitebeard's crew. And this boy is apart of that crew. If one were to say..collect that bounty. Whitebeard would have no choice but to gather his men. And I'm sure crocodile would enjoy partaking in that battle."
Tumblr media
"No need to evacuate the said city." He walked over to the table and poured himself a glass of wine. Downing the drink with a swift throwback of his head before turning back to the marine with a cock to his brow." That is unless you want to put the people in danger? That doesn't sound very..'marine' like if you were." He knew what would happen if they set sail right away. Problems would arise. Pirates would take that chance and sink the ships coming into port. But if the pirates were distracted that would leave an opening for the evacuation.
"Start a public execution of Ace at the south docks. Then while everyone is distracted. Evacuate the people to the north."
Stared down at the wanted paper, his eyebrows frowned before he used his fore and middle fingers to slide it closer and stare at it as he listened to the other’s idea carefully. Akainu might not be a creative strategist since his plans are always forward, still he might be considered the best executioner of plans in the whole world. Akainu knew about Ace traveling solo many times making him an easier target to capture. But he never thought of it as an idea to force the pirates out of their burrows!! Standing, the admiral tapped his middle finger on the table beside the poster taking a liking to the idea. Not just that but he also can see it happening very easily.
This man.. Dracule Mihawk, not only the best swordsman in the world but also he’s ridiculously intelligent.. If he was to rule the government Akainu would’ve enjoyed working for him and exciting his plans. He’s by far much clever and cunning than anyone he ever knew. Too bad he chosen to be a pirate, this what the admiral hates about him the most. What a waste.. even though he’s an ally to the marines Akainu hated him. To him all pirates the same! but this idea was too good to waste.
Tumblr media
“And why you’re telling me this? What’s you benefit from all that?!”
Not bothered by the other making himself comfortable in the office. To the admiral, pirates don’t do anything for free. “ And don’t you dare giving me the ally crap. you’re still a pirate and I’d still think you’re only around for your own advantage....” honest and confronting is what Akainu will always be. But his words weren’t loud he was just very clear with his questioning before he is convinced to why he was given this idea.

One Piece {Warlord Imagines} When You're A Marine
*Warlord's Pov*
~~~~~~~~
Trafalgar Law
Now becoming a Warlord would never have crossed my mind before since being a Government dog wasn't ideal but it needed to be done as part of my plan. Though right now some young Marine decided it would be a good idea to approach me. "Hello! You must be Trafalgar Law, right? I recognize you from your wanted poster. You're here for the Warlord meeting, aren't you?" They were cute that much was clear but they weren't anything more than my enemy.
"Yes, that's why I'm here. Who are you Marine-ya?" I didn't see a problem in finding out this Marine's name since I'd most likely forget about it after the meeting concluded. "Oh, you want to know who I am? I'm Captain (Y/n)... The meetings about to start come on I'll take you there personally!" When the Marine grabbed my hand, I was a little surprised but allowed them to lead the way until we reached a set of double doors. "All the other Warlords are already here. It's a very strange occurrence when they all gather like this. Come on"
As they pushed the large set of doors open, I was taken back by the Marine's strength though when I noticed my hand was still held by theirs, I tried to pull it away but it wasn't working. "I found the missing Warlord!" When everyone's eyes shifted to us, I felt like burying myself in a hole but kept a straight face as the Fleet Admiral began stared daggers at me. "(Y/n) get your hand off of that Pirate right this second and you better have finished all your paperwork for the day!"
"Alright, Dad... See you later Law" Even almost an hour after the young Marine had left the room, I couldn't help but think of them. They were Sakazuki's kid and somehow, they were the complete opposite of him. "Maybe I'll have to come back here just to see them" It was said under my breath though Sakazuki had managed to hear it. "Did you have something to add Trafalgar?"
"No"
Dracule Mihawk
"Who's the pipsqueak?" As Doflamingo spoke up from across the room I tilted my head back to catch a glimpse of the Marine he was referring to. "That is Captain (Y/n) and they are not to be bothered by the likes of you Donquixote" I could care less if my statement angered the other Warlord since that man was not at the top of my list of people I cared for. "Are any more Warlords coming to the meeting?" There were only two members currently present although that never bothered the young Marine since they weren't particularly fond of having more than three in the same room as them.
"It would appear that will only be the three of us (Y/n)-chan" As the sound of rustling papers reached my ears I turned towards the door and saw another Marine was standing there. "Captain (Y/n) your father has requested that you discuss the following topics with the Warlords. Where should I put these documents?" I wasn't sure why (Y/n) was left alone for this meeting but I knew they were quite strong and if Doflamingo stepped out of line I would simply put him down.
"Why are you staring at me Mihawk?" I knew (Y/n) often hated when people gave them a lot of attention but I couldn't help it. They were one of the only reasons I attended these meetings although I highly doubted the Marine was aware of that fact. "Okay let's get this meeting over with so I can go have my afternoon nap. Although Doflamingo please sit in a chair like a normal person and Mihawk remove your feet from the table"
I respected (Y/n) enough to remove my feet from the table but Donquixote clearly didn't and as he replied I felt my eyes start to narrow. "Fufufu. You got guts kid but keep it up and I'll have to rip them out~ Fufufu" Donquixote would often threaten Marines or anyone that ticked him off though I drew a line when it came to (Y/n). "That Marine is off-limits Donquixote. If you threaten them again, I will kill you"
"Hm, I changed my mind I'm leaving... Say Little Marine do you know if Snow is on the base? I didn't see her earlier but I have some business to discuss with that one" Was Donquixote still trying to win over that girl's heart? I thought he had long given up that hopeless endeavor after Captain Ember had made it clear that he wasn't to go anywhere near her sister. "Vice Admiral Snow? I believe she is conducting training exercises in the northern courtyard. Hey, you can't leave! I'm not done with you yet!"
It was better if Donquixote didn't sit in on this meeting any longer so I did nothing to stop the man from leaving. "Fufufu. Your barks much worse than your bite Little Marine~ Now if you'll excuse me, I have a girl to find" That look on (Y/n)'s face caused me to question what they were thinking but if I had to take a guess it was probably that of disappointment. "Are you going to leave as well Mihawk?"
"No, I wish to hear what you have to say (Y/n)-chan. May we begin?"
"Hehehe. Alright, my Swordsmen let's begin~"
Bartholomew Kuma
As I walked through the Marine base, I eventually came across the quarters of the Marine that I desired to see. They were normally in charge of writing notes on the Warlords meetings but when they didn't arrive on time, I was requested to bring them up. Without knocking on the door, I entered though that might have been my first mistake. "Good afternoon (Y/n)-san"
The Marine was still changing into their uniform but I caught a glimpse of a new scar just below their shoulder blade. It definitely wasn't there the last time I seen them exposed like this though the chances of them telling me who was responsible were slim. "What do you want?" Our relationship could never see the light of day but this level of hostility was not the norm for the Marine. "You're late for the meeting. I was asked by the Fleet Admiral to retrieve you"
"Hm, is it that time already? Alright, I'll be there shortly" Their shirt was quickly pulled into place followed by that cape but as I closed the door, they turned to face me. "Is something wrong (Y/n)-san? That scar is new" There were numerous scars that littered their skin though I made it a point to memorize all of them. I cared greatly for them after all. "Don't worry about it Mew"
I respected them but this life was only going to end their life if I allowed it to continue any longer. (Y/n) deserved better than this so as I removed a single glove, I asked them a question. "If you could take a vacation, where would you like to go?" They knew what was going to happen next and the fear within their eyes was ignored as my palm connected with them. "Wait Kuma! What the hell are y-"
"I'll see you shortly (Y/n)-san"
Sir Crocodile
There they were giving out orders to the rest of the crew as the ship sailed towards Marineford and I couldn't turn my attention away from them. Pirates and Marines were much like water and oil but that didn't deter me from developing feelings for them. "Croco-man why are you staring at that Marine?" Of course, Doflamingo didn't have anything better to do than bother me throughout the trip although killing him wasn't an option. "It's none of your damn business Doflamingo"
"Hm, it that so? Oi Captain (Y/n)! Crocodile thinks you're fucking hot!" Thankfully the young Marine could be as clueless as a little kid but it didn't help that the other Marines acted in a way to protect them. "I'm not hot it's quite cold today Pirate... Wait Snow is that what Doflamingo meant?" That Vice-Admiral was equally as childish though she knew the games that Doflamingo played. "Yeah, that's what he meant (Y/n). Come on let's go eat lunch"
"Oh, lunch sounds great. I've been dealing with the Warlords all day and they're annoying as hell. Smoker, watch the prisoners for me I'll be back in a few hours" They could call me a prisoner as much as they wanted to but the other Warlords didn't appreciate the insult. Well, it was mainly Doflamingo who had the problem though. "Who the hell are they calling prisoners?"
"Doffy, can you help me reach something on the top shelf in my bedroom? I can't reach it and really want it" Those two were rather odd but Doflamingo made it very clear that Snow was his. I wasn't sure why he liked that Marine though the same could be said about my feelings towards (Y/n). "Coming Snow! We'll discuss this later Croco-man~"
"Great who's going to eat lunch with me now... Crocodile, make yourself useless and follow me" As my eyes trailed after their retreating form, I didn't follow right now since that would only make me seem weak to the Marines on board the ship. "Why?" Their face remained the same as it always did but I noticed a few others were staring right at them. "You're going to eat lunch with me. Hurry up before it gets cold"
"Fine" Standing up from the crate I began to walk towards the Marine but something they said caused me to pause. "And just so you know I'll be eating and you'll just be watching me... Oh, I'm also going to call you Croco-chan from now on since I think it's quite cute. Don't you agree Croco-chan?" Were they really teasing me in front of the entire Marine fleet? "You're walking into dangerous territory (Y/n)"
"My Mama always told me not to smile at a crocodile but you're cute so I think that warning can be ignored this one time" That was definitely teasing although when I got a look at the rest of the fleet, they didn't seem to be bothered by their follow Marine flirting with a Pirate. "Right... Whatever happened to hurrying to the mess hall?" Keeping them on task would be difficult but now that we're walking towards our original destination I relaxed. "Shit! Come on Croco-chan and don't slow me down!"
I really should figure out why I like this Marine as much as I do since I couldn't remember what first caught my attention about them. "At least they're cute" It wasn't meant for (Y/n) to hear but when their head turned back, I knew they picked up on it. "I thought I was hot? Although I'll take it~ Hehehe"
Donquixote Doflamingo
For someone so small (Y/n) always seemed to be able to keep a fair amount of distance between us. I could have used my strings to make them slow down but that would only lead to me getting attacked by the Marine. "Stop following me Doflamingo!" They were known to be quite hostile towards me though I found that to be a wonderful trait since not many were that brave. "Fufufufu. I'm not following you on purpose (Y/n) we're just both heading for the dining room"
It was the truth I didn't purposely seek them out during this trip but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to follow behind them when I noticed they were walking by. Many of the other Marines just ignored my fondness of (Y/n) but for whatever reason, I'm sure (Y/n) didn't want anything to do with me. "Fine, I'll just eat later then! Move your feathered ass out of my way!" Something must have set them off since they would only grinded their teeth together like that on special occasions. "You're rather feisty today (Y/n)~ Did someone upset you?"
"Yeah, you did!" At this point, I just accepted that being difficult was just in (Y/n)'s nature but it was a little discouraging that they weren't telling me the information I wanted to know. "I haven't even been near you for more than five minutes. How about you tell me who upset you and I'll take care of them?" They seemed to be less mad than a few seconds ago but I knew that wouldn't last forever. "Oh, so you'll off yourself if I say you're the person who upset me?"
"No, but I know someone in this base other than myself has hurt my tiny Marine and for that, I'll kill them~ Give me their name (Y/n)~ Please"
"Vice Admiral Vergo"
Boa Hancock
"Alright, these will be your quarters for the next week. I'm sorry that they suck but blame Admiral Sakazuki for that since he doesn't think the Warlords deserve anything nice. Well, enjoy your stay and if you need anything don't ask me" I liked this Marine but something about them seemed different. Hopefully, the brutes weren't pushing my love past their limit. "Thank you (Y/n)-san! These accommodations will be more than enough!"
"O-Oh, you're welcome Hancock! Excuse me I need to be somewhere else!" (Y/n) was about halfway down the hallway but a certain male decided he had the privilege to speak to my love. "Fufufufu. Look at the ass on that one~" It was true that (Y/n) had a nice figure though this man didn't have the right to make such comments about it. "Don't you dare talk about my love in such a disrespectful way you beast!"
"Ah, now I see why you two shouldn't be kept in the same space together. How about you stay in my room Hancock? You'd need to sleep on the floor but at least you and Doflamingo won't be at each other's throats" They were being more than kind and I wasn't going to pass up such an opportunity. "S-Stay in your room with you!? Of course, my love!"
"Yeah, I'll come to get you later but right now I have drills to conduct with my little fleet. See ya later Hancock"
"Don't work too hard my love!"
Jinbei
That Marine must have been quite exhausted since they fell asleep almost immediately after the meeting had begun. I would never disturb the young one's slumber but their fellow Marines didn't seem to have the same mindset. "Captain (Y/n) wake up! It is not professional to fall asleep during meetings!"
"I'm up!" The poor thing looked like their heart was about to give out but after the Marine was awoken the meeting continued as normal. It didn't take long to conclude though I had noticed the same Marine had fallen asleep. "Can't this brat stay awake for more than five minutes?" This was a pitiful display and, in a way, I felt sorry for the young one. "Hahaha. Just leave them be I'm sure if they miss training again Sakazuki will take care of them permanently"
"Big talk for such a little man~ Hehehe. Why don't you go and run a few laps around the base? I'll escort (Y/n) back to their room shortly" So, the Vice-Admiral was friends with them? That must offer them some protection but clearly, that didn't stop the others from waking them up earlier. "Y-Yes, Vice Admiral Snow we'll do that right away!"
"Fufufufu. You're getting better at intimidating the other Marines my dear. Shall we head down for lunch now? I need to leave the base shortly but I have a few hours" Doflamingo did make a good point I should really head back to the sea before the tides picked up too much. As I was heading for the door Snow had called over to me. "Yeah... Jinbei do you mind taking (Y/n) back to their quarters? It's just down the hall with the others look for the one that says Admiral Sakazuki"
That was concerning but I didn't ask about it until after (Y/n) was safely within my grip. "Admiral Sakazuki?" I didn't attend these meetings often enough to know much about the Marines here but Sakazuki wasn't someone I could see tolerating this young Marine for long. "Yup they're his kid. He's most likely not even in there"
"Very well. Goodbye Snow"
~~~~~~~~~
'Knock' 'Knock' 'Knock'
I didn't want to face Sakazuki today but as a voice called out from the room, I realized there wasn't much of a choice on my part. "Who is it?" There was some hesitation with my response though after I had finished, I heard some movement from inside. "Jinbei... I was asked to bring (Y/n) back to their quarters" When Sakazuki threw the door open the loud bang caused the sleeping Marine to awaken from their slumber. "Ahhh!"
"Put them down now... (Y/n) go take your medication" With the Marine on the ground I watched them stare up at their father but they didn't appear to be bothered by the man's murderous mood. "Didn't I already take it?" Hmm, I wonder what illness they had? "No, it's still on the table" The emotion on their face changed into understanding though I could see they were staring at me but it only lasted for a few seconds. "Oh, that's why I'm so tired. Thanks, Pops"
At least I did my job and escorted them safely back to their quarters. Although Sakazuki looked to be holding back his anger towards me. "You can leave now Pirate Scum"
'Slam'
"What an interesting Marine... Hopefully, I'll see them again someday"

Irreplaceable Part 20: It’s not a date!
wattpad AO3 Zoro was grabbing onto his mother's leg. She was making something on the counter, but he could not see and he really needed to know what was going on, but she refused to hold him so this was the second best option. He took a good hold and bounced up and down trying to get a better view. He stopped when Mommy looked down at him. He grinned, but it soon vanished when Mommy frowned at him. He opened his hands letting go of the fabric of her pants. He kept looking up and gently held her leg. She sighed, but smiled lightly before continuing what she was doing. Zoro accepted, that he could not see what she was doing, so he tried his best to listen instead. It was more boring, but could not be helped. His concentration broke when he heard the out door make a noise and he just had to go take a look. He peeked behind the corner and saw his grandfather taking off his jacket. He ran towards him joyfully calling his name:
- "Pappa! Pappa! Pappa!"
Before Mihawk could even react Zoro had grasped onto his leg and was bouncing up and down. He looked at the toddler and smiled surprised. He knelt down to inspect what he was wearing.
- "So you're a panda today?" He asked as he lifted up the hood of his jumpsuit. - "Panda." Zoro repeated and grabbed onto Pappas hand. "Up." Came a small demand. - "Sorry, not right now." He rose away from him.
Zoro pouted and looked at what Pappa was doing. He was taking something out of his bag and gave it to him.
- "Pappa bought you a new puzzle. This one has a tiger in it." He pointed at a picture of a tiger on the package. - "Tigel!" Zoro squealed happily. - "Go show Mommy what you got." Mihawk turned him to face the kitchen.
Zoro started to run excited holding onto the precious box. Midway he stumbled and fell on his face. He stayed down a bit and Mihawk looked at him worried. Finally he rose up. He sniveled a bit and looked at Pappa who was smiling encouragingly. Zoro grinned and a tear fell on his cheek. This time he walked carefully to his mother.
- "Mommy, look! Look! Tigel!" He waved the puzzle box in his hands. - "That's so great, Zoro." Perona smiled, but then looked a bit worried. "Did you fall on your way here?"
Zoro lowered the box and let his mother take a look. His nose was red and eyes too. Perona blew on his nose and kissed it.
- "There, all better." She smiled sweetly. "Let me open that for you."
Zoro was happy that Mommy had taken the hurt away, so of course she could take the treasure from him. Mommy removed a layer of shiny off of the box and then opened it. She took a puzzle out and removed a layer of shiny out of that too. She took hold of Zoros hand and moved him a bit further away so he wouldn't be on her way.
- "There you go."
She held out the new puzzle and Zoro was ecstatic. He dropped all the pieces on the floor and started to play with it. He solved the tiger one first, then a giraffe, an elephant, a zebra and a monkey. Once he was done he showed the puzzle to Mommy.
- "Well done, Zoro."
Getting praise from Mommy warmed Zoros heart so so much. He just had to redo the puzzle again.
Mihawk walked in the room and looked pleased as Zoro was busy with his puzzle. He turned to Perona and sniffed her cooking.
- "Smells good." - "It's going to be good." She huffed. - "Did you make Zoros onesie?" - "It's so cute on him, isn't it." Her eyes sparkled of excitement as she quickly looked at Zoro and then Mihawk. - "At first I thought it was store bought." - "Aww, you!" She was happy and kicked his shin softly.
Mihawk hummed amused and went to sit by the table. Perona was certain he quickly looked at her with such warmth, it should not be possible for him. She glanced at him quickly to see him looking at Zoro play. Maybe it had been a figment of her imagination. Her phone buzzed on the table and she dashed to look. It was from Chiffon, which slightly disappointed her. Law had not messaged her back and it was April already. She had tried to send him messages to explain herself, but he just did not answer. She sighed and checked what Chiffon had written.
- "Chiffon wants to go to an Easter event with me and Zoro." - "That sounds nice, you should go." - "Will you drive us there?"
Mihawk frowned a little. Perona was more than capable of driving herself, but she wasn't that keen on taking the initiative. She was still slightly scared of driving.
- "Maybe you should. I think it would be nice to get some alone time for myself." - "Gross pervert." - "Nothing like that." Mihawk grumbled. "I was thinking of updating the photo albums." - "And then be a gross pervert." Perona sneered.
Mihawk could only sigh.
----
The room was nearly dark only lit by the light from the TV. Perona and Mihawk were watching a movie together, as Zoro was already sleeping. She was craving to be touched, but it would not do to cuddle with Mihawk since she was already thinking of her husband. At these moments she would have cuddled with him. Not that Mihawk wasn't nice and all, just-
She stopped her thought. What the hell was she thinking? Of course she shouldn't be cuddling with her father-in-law. He was just warm and nice because they were family.
Perona huffed which caught Mihawks attention.
- "Is the movie bad?" - "No. I was just thinking on stuff." - "Hmm. Zoros birthday is near, isn't it?" - "May 11th." - "It's pretty close." He grinned. "I can't wait to make his cake." - "It's still a month away." She groaned. - "Aren't you a little bit excited?" He nudged her side with his knuckles.
Perona didn't answer. She really wasn't, but she shouldn't say that. She wasn't really that excited of anything. Not the summer, the potential schools or anything. Even thinking of Zoros coming milestones only made her feel sick. But saying so would only worry Mihawk.
- "Well a little." She sighed.
Mihawk chuckled and ruffled her hair. He rose from the sofa.
- "I can't watch trash like this sober." - "Well then don't. I'd rather have you not drink at all."
They stared at each other. Mihawk looked like he might consider sitting back down, but still went to get himself a glass of wine. Perona frowned disappointed and checked her phone. She was amazed to find a message from Law.
- "It's been awhile. I was angry at you, as I thought we had put that back into the past, but since then I've been thinking. I have no excuse for what I did back then and I wish that you can trust me like a friend in the future." - "It's alright. I think it would have kept nagging between us if I didn't say anything." - "Maybe. Have you heard anything from the schools." - "Two invitations." - "That's amazing! Does it mean we can't see each other? That you'll be busy studying?" - "There's no tests, just hearings."
- "And you're texting. See, I need this." Mihawk came in chuckling and Perona fumbled a bit with her cellphone nearly dropping it. She gave him an angry look.
- "You gave me a fright!"
Mihawk sat down and sneered:
- "I wonder what kind of naughty thing you were writing to have such bad conscience."
Perona snarled at him as he smugly took a sip of his wine. She then turned her attention back to her phone.
- "I guess we could meet up." - "That would be great." - "Some place like a cafe." - "Anything goes."
- "If you're just going to be texting, go somewhere else and let me have the sofa."
Mihawk poked her leg with his and lifted it on the sofa. She glared at him. It had been her idea to watch this movie. Defiantly he looked straight into her eyes and took a sip of his wine. This annoyed her a great deal. She grabbed onto his leg and pulled it on her lap.
- "Now you've got all the space and I won't need to leave. Happy?" She huffed angrily and set her phone aside.
Mihawk didn't reply, but placed his other foot on her lap too. He looked at her for a moment and then set his wineglass aside. Perona was getting pulled back into the movie and without thinking she started to gently pet Mihawks legs.
She felt a warm pair of eyes on her and she turned to look at Mihawk, but he was watching the movie.
It had been so weird lately.
Maybe it was a figment of her imagination, but she felt like he was looking at her differently. Maybe it was the way he looked at the people he loved, his family. She wasn't certain. But for some reason, those moments made her heart flutter. They made her happier.
----
Standing before the school, Perona looked at it nervous. She glanced behind her. Chiffon was there to give her strength since the hearing was in the middle of the day. Perona almost felt her knees buckle and she dashed to Chiffon. Chiffon let out a small squeak as Perona harshly glomped her.
- "It's scary I wanna go home." She whimpered. - "You've done this before remember. It's not so bad." Chiffon laughed.
Perona groaned and went to Zoro, who sat in his stroller.
- "Please give Mommy some strength."
She held her hands out and Zoro placed his hands on hers, without letting his eyes off of the stroller next to his, where sat baby Pez. They were having some weird silly face competition.
- "Uuh, I guess that's good enough." - "You can do it, Perona." Chiffon looked at her encouragingly. - "Dammit, you're right!" Perona straightened out. "I am the only one capable of making my dreams come true. Good things are just bound to happen. And even if I fail I still get to live with Zoro and Mihawk." - "That's the spirit!" Chiffon was getting fired up as well.
But in the interview, her resolution faltered.
- "Why should we take you in our school?" One of the interviewers, Bellemere, looked at her sternly. - "Ah umm." Perona felt panicky and sweated.
The early question of her background were easy to answer, but something like this... Dammit!
She had practiced this at home, but now her mind was blank. The second interviewer wrote something on their paper. Perona kept stuttering, trying to find the words.
- "Why are you passionate about sewing? Why it interests you? What makes you stand out?" Bellemere tried to help out. - "Just uh. I've always liked dressing up and I'm imaginative. I'm actually pretty head strong and won't get pushed aside. Just a bit nervous of this situation."
Perona could see Bellemere start to smile amused and realized, that she had messed up by admitting her nervousness.
- "Since you like dressing up, shouldn't you try a career that has more to do with that? Acting?"
- "No, because I also like to create. Can I show you something?"
- "Go ahead."
Perona dug her bag and lifted up her sketchbook. She also took some printed photos of the clothes she had sewn for Zoro. She also had his panda-jumpsuit with her. The interviewers looked at her assembly. They carefully looked over the jumpsuit, comparing it to the original sketch.
- "You did this?" - "Yes." - "It's actually quite good. We don't usually expect to see a portfolio, so this is a pleasant surprise." Bellemere said and wrote something on her papers. "Do you have something you might want to add?" - "No, nothing." - "Alright then I think were done here." She looked at the other interviewer who nodded. "You'll be getting notified about our decision. Thank you for coming here." - "Thank you. Good bye."
Perona stumbled outside where Chiffon was waiting with the toddlers at a nearby bench. Her hands shook as she sat down next to her.
- "How did it go?" - "Horrible." - "Well you don't know that yet." - "Uuh, I do." She covered her face with her hands.
Chiffon petted Peronas back.
- "At least it's over now." - "I still got another one to go." - "You can do it!" - "I guess. Wanna go shopping now?" - "Of course."
Perona liked going out with Chiffon. Chiffon didn't judge, was fun to be around and as a mother of a child nearly the same age as Zoro she was going through the same things. They had gotten something to eat and were sitting at a park bench. It was such a warm day. Pez started to whine and Chiffon took him up. Apparently it was feeding time. Perona always felt extremely envious of Chiffons ability to breast feed her child, something she herself had always struggled with. She had planned of doing it until Zoro was nearly three, but forcibly had to stop. It was something she would always regret. Somehow regardless of the stress or how her breasts seemingly stopped working, she should have forced herself to keep on trying. She gave Zoro his bottle, filled with the formula. He didn't really seem to dislike it anymore which was a little bit of a relief. Perona pulled her legs to her chest and side glanced at Chiffon and Pez. The two looked so perfect.
- "Does the interview still trouble you?" Chiffon asked slightly worried. - "No, no. I'm just a bit jealous that's all." - "Of what?" - "You being able to feed your child." Perona hugged her feet a bit tighter. - "Oh, I'm sorry." Chiffon knew of Peronas troubles and started to cover herself and Pez. - "Wait, no, no! Don't." Perona made her stop. "I appreciate what you're trying, but you're doing something so wonderful, I don't want to make you feel like an inconvenience."
Chiffon sighed a bit relieved and she petted Peronas back slightly.
- "I've read a study that the effect of breastfeeding isn't as big as thought. It's just that women who choose to do so tend to be more concerned of health issues." She moved down to gently look Perona in the eyes. "Just so you know, you're doing wonderful with Zoro."
Perona whimpered a silent thank you, bit her lip and started to cry. Chiffon kept on calmly petting her back.
----
Mihawk was sitting on his armchair reading a book when Perona returned with Zoro. She undressed his outdoor clothes before letting him go. Instantly he ran to Mihawk and grabbed onto his leg. Mihawk started to do the lifting they normally did, but Zoro was getting too big for it and Perona could see Mihawk straining a little bit. She sat and looked at them both. It was so bittersweet to see Zoro grow. Her eyes got wet.
- "Did it go badly?" Mihawk looked at her. He had noticed the redness of her eyes. - "No." - "Then what's the problem?" - "Zoro. You know you can't do that anymore soon." - "I might not be able to fully lift him, but I'll try as long as he wants it." - "Doesn't it make you sad, having to stop doing things because he gets too big?" - "A little, but all those nice things will get replaced by other things. I might not get to lift him like this, but I'll get to play football with him later."
Mihawk closed his eyes and smiled a little, while lifting Zoro. Finally he stopped and sighed.
- "Pappa is tired now."
This earned him a pout from Zoro, but the child did stop. He ran off to his toy box picking random assortment of colourful toys dropping them in the middle of the floor. He expectantly looked at Mihawk.
- "Play." He pointed at the toys. - "Alright." He went down on the floor with Zoro.
Perona looked on and sighed. She checked her phone.
- "I could do next Saturday at one." Read Laws message.
- "Hey Mihawk, do you have anything on Saturday?" - "No." - "Can you babysit Zoro while I'm gone?" - "Of course. What are you going to do?" - "Just a date." She quickly explained herself. "A meeting. Not a romantic date." - "Aha." Mihawk looked a bit skeptical, but kept his mouth shut. He had promised Perona not to meddle in her affairs. - "It's really not that sort of date." Perona mumbled embarrassed. - "Perona, you can do what ever you please as long as it's not damaging to anyone." - "Ah, yes, but-" - "I'm playing with Zoro right now." Mihawk cut her short. Talking about this wasn't what he wanted to do. It was stinging his heart unnecessarily.
Perona rose from the sofa to put away the rest of her things. Of course Mihawk was angry at her. She was angry at herself. This wasn't a date, she kept telling herself and Law. Not a date.
Then why did she feel so ashamed?
----
Perona was on her way to the "not-a-date". It was sunny and nice, though a bit chilly, but one didn't need to wear a jacket anymore. She stopped before her reflection on a window. A simple blouse and skinny jeans, hair on a loose bun on top of her head, with a bow and unicorn shaped cute pins. She had a small bag over her shoulder. She had put on simple make-up, so she wouldn't look like a slob. As she stared at her reflection only one thought crossed her mind:
- "I'm definitely over dressed, he'll think this is a date for sure."
She had tried her best to stay casual and she did look so to the passerby, but still she felt uncertain. But there was no turning back now, for Law would hate her if she did a last minute cancel, he was a very busy man after all. She walked slowly towards her destination and saw him wait by the door to a cafe casually looking at his cellphone listening to music. He was wearing a black long sleeved shirt, a fluffy black scarf and his typical hat. During the time they had not seen, he had grown a beard. It made her want to know what a beard would have looked like on her husband. A small sigh escaped her lips.
- "Hey." She came to him with a weak smile. "Have you waited for long?" - "No." Law tugged off his earphones and shoved them in his pocket along with his cell phone. "I didn't think you'd actually show up." He looked visibly surprised, but glad. - "Well I'm here now." - "Thank you."
Law smiled a little relieved. He was so different to the small interactions they've had in the past. Maybe he was just being shy right now or maybe that unpredictable violent side had dulled a bit with their messaging. She hoped it was the latter.
- "Uh, sorry, but you look sad." He looked a bit worried. "Is something wrong?" - "I just wondered what a beard would look like on him." - "Oh. I don't think he was the beard type of guy." - "You're probably right. Though his beard didn't grow so well yet so he preferred to shave it." - "Too young."
Perona nodded silently. He had passed on too young. There should have been more years left for them. Tears swelled in her eyes. Law lifted his hand to touch her back, but decided against it. Instead he gestured to the door.
- "Maybe we should go inside?" - "Yeah, you're right." She quickly rubbed her eyes, careful not to mess up her make-up.
After ordering their drinks they sat at a table in the corner. There was a small awkward silence between them.
- "So how have the interviews been?" - "Okay I guess. I'm probably not who they're looking for anyway." - "Probably."
Perona puffed her cheeks. He was not supposed to say something like that, but she let it pass.
- "How has your work been?" - "Busy."
Another awkward silence. This whole situation felt unbearable. Completely different from their messaging where he sounded positive and was quick to answer and keep the conversation going. Perona averted her eyes from him and took a sip of her drink. Law looked at his cup holding it with both of his hands.
- "Sorry. It's a bit easier to talk to others when not face-to-face." - "I- Yes, you're right."
Another silence. Perona looked at her bag and took her sketch book.
- "I showed them this in the interviews. They were pleasantly surprised."
Law eyed over some of her sketches and smiled a bit.
- "They're okay." - "Not just okay, but great, you ass!" - "What?"
Peronas hands flew over her mouth and Law looked at her shocked. To her shock he burst into laughter and she soon joined in.
- "Calling me an ass. What the hell?" He chuckled - "I'm sorry, you're supposed to be more supportive, stupid." - "I'm a bit of a pessimist to be honest. Don't want to get peoples hopes up so they wont be left down when they fail." - "You think I'm going to fail?" - "Definitely." - "Rude."
From there the conversation started to flow more naturally. It went into all directions and at times Law did bring up her husband and the memories he had with him. It felt so heart-warming that there were others who missed him as much as she did. Time passed rather quickly. Law persuaded Perona to let him walk her home and she finally did. They were in no rush and kept on talking. When they were at the start of her home road she stopped. Law studied her while she fidgeted slightly as she was thinking on how to express herself right to him.
- "I don't think it's a good idea to have you walk me all the way." - "Why?" - "Just- uh- I don't think my father-in-law would like it at all. He thinks this is a date." - "It's not?" - "It's not!" She cried out and blushed. "Well not in a romantic way or anything. Just two friends hanging out." - "Then there should be no problem." - "Well yeah, but still I'd rather have you not."
Perona looked down at her feet and spun her fingers. Law smirked and bend down to kiss her cheek. She squeaked surprised. Enraged she turned to chastise him, but Law was already walking off waving his hand.
- "Can't wait for the next not-a-date."
Perona blushed wildly and rubbed her cheek. The sensation that Laws kiss left her with was completely different from her husbands kisses. She felt guilty. Tears started to roll down her cheeks.
She missed her husband.
I totally know Zoro's birthday isn't in May, but on the other hand I didn't think the story would go this long. Thus the timeline is all fucked up. Sorry. ;A;
This is my first long story ever as I didn't even know I liked writing this much. I really thought I would get bored or something, as I didn't like my writing back then, but I was encouraged by people so I kept on going. I'm really grateful to them.
Now I like to re-read this and see myself getting better, when I compare the first chapters to the later ones. Also I like the story so... I've read this so many times. Most views are propably from myself. lol TwT

479-480: “The Scaffold at Last! the Way to Ace Has Opened!” and “Each On Different Paths! Luffy Vs. Garp!”
Tumblr media
Right there with you, Luffy! Never thought I’d be so glad to see a scaffold. xD
Another two solid episodes, with a daring rescue courtesy of Mr 3 at the end! @supramp9000 asked me for a prediction to what he was doing, sneaking away and I GOT IT!
Sort of. I mentioned Mr 3 moulding wax inside a lock to create a key copy. I thought he was going to open a gate somewhere and let all the escaping pirates out (because who would guess Hancock’s key would snap?). Never thought he’d mould a skeleton key while falling. Oda and those damned curve balls. Always ruining my predictions.
Also, I want to watch more episodes a week (I haven’t done the math but if I don’t pick up the pace, Luffy will find the One Piece before I’m caught up). The last entry took me three hours to put together and, to be honest, it was way too long. Folk would have sprained fingers scrolling down on the app, so I’m going to try and shorten the entries a bit. I was too obsessed with trying to catch every little detail (so I could say, “Ha, I predicted it!”) but if I miss something, I miss something. That’s why you guys are here. :)
Conqueror’s Haki Fallout and Perceptions
Tumblr media
Now I know Luffy didn’t execute a Shanks-scale mass fainting, the hype from 478 is not as strong. In a way, that’s better because it means Luffy has room to improve (which makes his development more interesting to watch, story-wise).
The reactions to it were interesting too.
Akainu and Ivankov both noticed Luffy’s use of it was unconscious. The law of shounen dictates he must train to now use it consciously. I’m in the middle of Boku no Hero Academia right now and it’s interesting that Luffy’s situation is the opposite to Midoriya’s. Luffy has all the natural talent and has to work to consciously use it, while Midoriya is very conscious of figuring out how to handle the unnatural power he’s been given and has to work to use it unconsciously. I’m guessing shounen heros fall into one of these two categories. But where would you place Gon from HxH? Is he both? (I’m a sucker for shounen anime. It’s an addiction. halp!)
Kizaru was surprised Luffy had so much power. As soon as he realised this, he ordered his soldiers to take out Strawhat nao, damn it! Does this show an increased level of respect? Will Kizaru stop shit-talking Luffy?
True to form, Aokiji didn’t say much at all (what is this man’s game?) Whitebeard didn’t say much either but you could tell he was surprised - and maybe pleased?
Whitebeard’s Legacy
Tumblr media
It’s hard watching Whitebeard, who is the loveliest pirate ever to sail, suffering so much, though he would hate me for saying so because his Sea Dad Pride is strong.
Luffy’s haki seems to be a turning point. Once he saw that, he ordered his men to back up Luffy “with all your strength!” and said to himself, ”You have the middle initial D. Show me how the world will be in years to come.” Oda reinforced this by having Ivankov notice and say to Luffy, “The strongest pirate in the world his putting his hopes in you.”
After the haki, Whitebeard has faith in Luffy. I’d hesitate to say he’s passing the torch because if Ace does get out of this, Whitebeard cannot have placed his hopes in two people. He’d back Ace for Pirate King out of loyalty to his son. Luffy ain’t a son. But still... maybe this is a sign of Whitebeard’s respect for a new, Shanks-style rival who will take the Old Ways into the New Era.
Love how Jimbei disobeyed and defended Whitebeard. That fishman’s loyalty is unbreakable. Yes, he is there to defend Luffy, but his ultimate loyalty is to Ace and Whitebeard.
Help From Everyone
Now I’m neck deep in Boku no Hero Academia, I can make more parallels. Luffy does resemble Midoriya in a way. He accepts and is grateful for help if it gets him where he needs to go. I think Luffy, though, being on the grey side, would accept it from (almost) anyone. Maybe Midoriya is more honourable. Can’t make that judgement yet, as I’m only 29 episodes in.
The help list for 479 includes:
Crocodile and Daz Bones: cannot believe Daz Bones deflected Mihawk’s swipes. Even though he had to be bailed out by Crocodile, that was impressive. He’s stronger than I thought.
Boa Hancock: I love how cleverly she’s balancing helping out Luffy and retaining her status as a Shichibukai. More than any of the others, she has an entire nation relying on her, whom she has to protect. If she discards her status, a Buster Call might descend on her island. She’s found a way to protect Luffy and her people. Nice. Also, random observation: I know she can’t do this in battle because it would reveal her motives, but can Hancock turn the Kumas to stone?
Inazuma and Ivankov: Ivankov’s hair is like Mary Poppins’ bag except instead of hatstands, he pulls out revolutionaries. That moment when Inazuma cut a ribbon of concrete and made a path for Luffy was awesome. With Ivankov guarding the path below, Luffy had a clear run.
Grandpa Garp
Tumblr media
Except Grandpa Garp stood in the way. Cannot lie, this was a tense moment. I wondered whether Garp would go full Lawful Good and actually fight his adorable, rubbery grandson. If he had, he would have lost character points from me. I mean, if he had, I would have understood why, but still... he’s Garp. Don’t think I’m hypocritical, though. If Luffy had killed Garp, he would have lost points too.
At it was, Garp did put on the show. He did try to steel his resolve. “I’ve been fighting pirates since before you were born! If you wanna pass through here, you’re gonna have to kill me first - because of the path you have chosen to live!”
That was the cliffhanger point, so I was left in suspense for a while. Must have killed manga readers who were caught up at that point. I can only imagine the mess of speculation on the forums.
Then, in 480, came the flashbacks. It was basically Garp’s Monkey Training Camp and Garp’s Gorilla Training Camp, wherein Garp worried if Luffy hated him because he was an intimidating Grandpa. Nah, Garp. Luffy has never hated you. You could see the fear in his eyes at the thought of having to kill or hurt you to reach Ace. Plus, you swiped food from the Marines to give him a post-training feast and carried him on your back when he was too sleepy to walk. Luffy knows you love him.
And he’ll definitely know now that you looked him in the eye and could not go through with your threat, choosing to take that punch rather than harm a hair on Luffy’s head. Sengoku noticed too. I hope he doesn’t blame Garp for it. (But in a way, I kind of hope he does. I’m holding out for a Monkey D. Family Revolutionary Reunion!)
And then... finally...
Tumblr media
Luffy reached the scaffold and Sengoku lifted a finger! There was a point when Luffy grabbed onto the platform where I thought, Sengoku, if you kick him off I will flip a fucking table... But no! He actually revealed his power. Or a bit of it, anyway. I have no clue how it works. He stole rivets from the scaffold to aid his transformation into a bonafide massive gold Buddha. Enel would have been very interested in Sengoku, haha.
Funnily enough, Kizaru was the one who really hampered Luffy’s rescue effort. He sniped the key from a distance (that guy is hyper competent) and Luffy was left floundering for a moment.
Then Mr 3 stepped up. That was a masterpiece twist. I was not expecting him to appear, so I legit cheered. I liked how Oda gave him a motivation to help Luffy. Mr 3 is doing it for Bon-chan, whose friendship with Luffy never wavered and who never ran in the face of adversity. Now I come to think of it, Mr 3 and Bon-chan must have been pretty good friends, as Luffy and Mr 3 were the ones who were really left mourning on the ship post-Impel Down. Good for you, Galdino. Be inspired by Bon-chan. He’d love it if he knew.
There was a large KABOOM at the very moment of rescue. Then a moment of tension, obscured by fire and a smoke.
That moment when Ace, Luffy and Mr 3 emerged from a pillar of fire was worth the watch. Will Ace cut loose and fight his way out? How will the Whitebeards escape? I don’t think for one minute that Sengoku will let them walk away.
Tumblr media
I KNOW, RIGHT?? ^_^

Lydia Rae Mihawk
Lydia Rae Mihawk  flashback leading to present Drabble Oc fanfic part 2 of this OC series Disclaimer I do not own One Piece or its respectful characters. Lydia smiled as she roamed her father's castle. Zoro was due to leave any day now to meet up with his crew. He had grown so much stronger, an had matured alittle more. Mihawk had trained them both Zoro more so than her. She understood, after all she didn't have the same drive as Zoro did when it came to swords. She definitely preferred her whip and dual cross pistols.  His crew, his dream, promise to a friend making him much more commendable. She had grown to respect him as a swordsmen and a man. While she was on the island she had grown closer to her father and also to the moss-haired swordsmen with no since of direction. She didn't think she could grow to admire both men in different ways so much. Well lets face it she never expected to meet and successfully talk to her father.  An as she wandered she thought back to her first meeting  with Zoro and the strawhats what a rocky one that was. She had been leaving a bar after grabbing some food and information from the locals. Immediately after she left the bar she heard people shouting and some bulk man practically ran her over. She moved out of the way annoyed, when she heard a tiny teary feminine voice yell "Someone stop him, he stole all my purse." Without thinking Lydia was already running after the man. Her eyes narrowed, as he tried to slip through the crowed. she unfurled her whip at her side and used it to scale the next building eyes never leaving the man she was pursing. He had no idea she was on to him. Perfect. She smirked. He was in the clear, so he thought. He had just escaped the mass confusion and crowd created with his latest victims scream had caused. He was smiling it happened all the time, he'd pick a small defenseless lady. As the shock would wear off if his victim noticed the shock of her yell would cause enough chaos for him to get away. Today would be no different it seemed.  Just as that thought left his head. "Hey scumbag wipe that nasty grin off your face you haven't gotten away with anything yet." an angry voice yelled from above but it sounded closer. That was he last thought before he was sent rolling to the ground. Lydia had dove off the roof knocked the man down but was back up on her feet.  The look on the mans face was priceless. But she had gained the attention of a few onlookers. "You really shouldn't make a habit of targeting women for your crimes not all of us will let you off so easy."  The man was staggering up to his feet angry. "Let me off easy ha don't make me laugh, an what business is it of yours I didn't steal from you wench. What are you a hero or something?" He sneered. "You sure don't look like a marine off duty."  Her golden eyes narrowed even more today was a really bad day. and she didn't feel like she needed to hear any badmouthing from anyone else much less a theif. "No mister lucky for you I'm not a marine. Nor can I be involved with them or anyone of the law myself. But thats also really bad for you cause that means I do things my own way. An I just felt like helping out after you rudely bumped into me trying to get away. So if you don't mind lets go hand back what you stole. I don't really feel like fighting you."  The man had doubled over in laughter. Thats it she thought.  Quick as a snap her whip was out made the man drop the purse he was holding to the ground she snapped it again it was around the mans neck as she yanked him in her direction, it going lax as she delivered a quick blow to his face to KO him. She quickly walked over and dusted the purse off. Just then the owner of the voice she heard cry out earlier had made her way over to her. "Thanks a bunch miss. I had more important things than just money in there." She had puffy eyes from crying but smiled politely. Handing it over. "Everything in there?," waiting for the girl to finish checking. "Thats good, be more careful with your belongs and of your surroundings. Sometimes not even being out in a public or crowded area is safe." With that she began to walk off. "Miss wait isn't there something I could do to repay your kindness?"  Turning to cast one glance over her shoulder Lydia restrained herself for asking for any compensation. She had treasure on the ship when it came to her. "Yeah just when the guys come to arrest him don't even mention me , you'll be saving me some trouble ." An with that she left the woman behind with a puzzled expression. Sighing she thought great hot-head if she puts two and two together an decides to report you your gonna have to make another break for it. She wasn't really paying attention when a weapons shop caught her eye. Just like the bartender had said. Just as she was about to enter someone opened the door an nearly slammed it in her face. Snapping "Hey dumbass don't throw open doors like that you could've hit me." She fumed into a person chest, looking up she discovered  the owner to be a smug looking green haired man. "Don't stand in front of doors and you won't get hit."   Narrowing her eyes, noticing the swords at his sides. This man had just got smart with her, while she was used to men being afraid of her, only drunks being flirty, merchants and people she helped being somewhat friendly. She was only used to her opponents and enemies acing like that. The fact he had carried swords made her want to punch him into next week. He stared her in the eyes not budging .  " I wasn't just standing here in the way, like you are, I was actually coming in here to buy something." At that statement his eyes widen as he seemed to take in her appearance and weapons at her sides. "You a bounty hunter or something he offered weakly?" Smirking as he stepped aside. "No, not that its any of your business swordsman, I'm a pirate." An with that she passed him not noticing he had stepped back in the shop to follow her. She gazed around quickly glancing at the swords, concluding none of them worth anything. She returned her gaze to the other weapons she grabbed a few boxes of ammo and just for the heck of it she picked up a nice dagger that caught her eye. Paying the clerk and exiting the store. She continued on her way noticing irritably the man was still following her. "What? Why are you still following me?" She asked turning her gaze to him. "You a bounty hunter then?  this pirate catch your attention she mocked."Eyes widening at her not knowing who he was he snorted "Don't flatter yourself, I technically got lost and found the shop when looking for the rest of my crew.  I figured since you have the log pose on your wrist that you'd know where your going and could point me in the direct or if I'd follow you around long enough I'd run into someone I know."  He was about to brag about who he was , and suggest if she got smart he might turn her in for some cash since he was broke. When she commented. "So your directionally challenged then. So sad for your crew they must have a terrible time keeping track of you." She noted even though he said he'd follow her he'd veered off from her. Grabbing his arm, sighing "I'll take to you to a place where you can get some food and thats not far away from shops and the docks. It'll be less likely for you to get lost. that way."  She led him by the arm, it was strange he was fairly attract but he was already causing her problems. He was grumbling the whole way there with a blush on his face, however he did not offering to pull away from her. Clicking her tongue she turned her gaze to his face " To prideful to accept help one time? I have no doubt you can break free of my grip if you wished to do so. If your not going to do that don't make this anymore difficult for me than it already is." After her quick quip she was dragging him along but this time in silence before she heard a quite. "You didn't have to help me, not like I directly asked you , besides we very well could be enemies. " That paused her movements. "Am I your enemy?" She asked quietly. He had went silent again trying to figure this woman out. But he wasn't really good at that. Zoro knew he was only good at a few things and stuck to that. Noticing her lips turn up into a smile he thoughts seem to stop as she began to speak. "Doesn't really matter. I still wanna help, besides its not like its known if we are, not now anyway. Beside already halfway there and I don't want you getting you turned around again. His eyes softened at her tone before she decided to make a jab at him again. They were walking again. The hell was she doing to him. They made it to her destination and seated themselves at a table where they order drinks. They were actually starting to get along and make conversation. Despite him typically being quiet Zoro found himself intrigued by the woman infront of him. Her golden eyes were unique. Oddly familiar but he was sure he'd never seen her before. He stated after awhile had passed what her crew would think about her being gone. When a bitter smile crossed her face, don't have one. He nearly spit out his drink. "Your a pirate and you don't have a crew?" He thought her of her as someone more planned out than Luffy. "No I prefer to work alone for now. While I do have a bounty my goals for now do not require me to have one." "So what your bounty?" She asked, she had a feeling she knew who he was, after all he carried three swords, and his aura said it all. He looked at her debating on if he should tell her, he looked so puzzled she leaned over. "I haven't read the poster in awhile want to know how much more I have until I catch up with yours Zoro." She whispered his name so quietly he almost didn't catch it. His eyes met hers and her small smile. "Kinda hard to miss who you are if you know anything about pirates or bounty hunters." He took on a smirk and he chuckled. Causing her to raise her eyebrow. "So when you asked that question about the bounty earlier and all those snide remarks you knew who I was."  Smirking she replied. "Yeah I had an idea of who you were, after I through a couple insult your way. I don't typically back down from challenges especially when I have a bad day." She mused wasn't so bad after all she'd met a man who she secretly admired his skills for awhile. Bringing her out of her thoughts "So those the only weapons you use?" Smiling she stood placing her money on the table enough for her and his drinks. "Can't give away all of my secrets. Although I think I could spill one more to you" Winking at him she leaned down to whisper in his ear.  "Lydia Rae Morgan, hope to see you again one day Zoro." An with that  she was off. Finishing off his ale Zoro went to find his crew. No he hoped she wouldn't be his enemy in the future. When he arrived back everyone was in an uproar about where he'd been. Nami had hit him and called him an idoit for getting lost and deemed him hopeless to go out on his own. Zoros mind was on the woman he had met. Shaking his head he went to lift his weights before the love cook announced dinner.-------------------------------That had been their first meeting, they met again a few months later and thats when she'd met the strawhats crew. That was a pretty interesting encounter as well. There had been a ruckus in town earlier that had exposed her. Ever since her bounty had sky rocketed she had been getting more and more grief. She took on any challenges and defeated many vast enemies, only ever picking up her swords when she was desperate. She had met them while escaping the marines and ran smack dab into the swordsman and his crew. Groaning she untangled her limbs apologizing, about to pick herself up from the ground having indeed run into Zoro. He looked annoyed before recognition passed. "Lydia?" When she too realized who she tripped into. "The one and only Zoro." She seemed to beam at him. It had been awhile since they last met. She was so happy she got to see him again. Her smile faded as she thought that it could easily be the last time she saw him. She began to stand up him following suit, she took a minute to take in the crew she had heard about as they asked her questions, she answered a few before suggesting that all of them get out of the open before getting caught. The crew invited her aboard where they talked, and in the captain on words had a party to celebrate finding a friend. Luffy himself asked her a few questions the final one being would you join our crew to which everyone waited for answer. She had to think of it tactfully, she actually thought about it seriously but made her decision before she could change her mind. "I'm not telling you no, but I can't join right now I have somethings I need to take care of first. After its finished and if we meet again an if you and the rest of the crew is still willing to have me then I'll join everyone. How's that sound?" "Its a deal but keep your end of the promise alright." He stated very sagely. She smiled at him and nodded. If she had a sibling she very much would've liked to have a little brother like Luffy. They offered her a place for the night seeing it would be a few days before the log pose set. She had accepted it had been a fun couple of days. It was quiet, on the last day she'd spend there. Everyone was asleep she was on deck gazing out at the sea. Thinking she had met some pretty amazing people. Dare she say friends. Something Lydia had always wanted but never really had. To think she might have that made her happy. She tried to tell herself not to get so excited because what she was going to do next wasn't going to be easy. She didn't even know if she'd live through it. A few tears escaped her eyes. Thats when she heard footsteps. Quickly wiping her face drawing a couple deep breath to calm herself. "Couldn't sleep?" a deep voice rumbled. Zoro. "Could ask you the same thing." He leaned against the railing. "Nah sleep enough during the day, plus I keep watch at night." He had shared something. Ah what the hell "I don't sleep well to begin with. But I just got alot on my mind." He raised an eyebrow to her but didn't inquire anymore. Another thing she found herself liking about the man beside her. He was concerned in his own way but wouldn't push to get answer, she felt if it was serious however he might be more demanding about answer but left it alone. She was grateful. Finally she sighed. "I'd like to become apart of this crew if I complete my goal." He was about to ask why not now when he saw a tear roll down her face. "It's not something I want anyone to witness or be around for incase it doesn't happen. " He had a nagging  and panicky feeling when he saw her the tear. "You can still join even if you don't accomplish it. " He stated thinking about how he lost to Mihawk and how he was going to try again someday. "If I live through it I will." She mumbled it, but he still heard her. His eyes widen,  she hadn't thought she had said it but looking at his face confirmed I with. It was really great seeing you again Zoro. Give the crew my regards I'll see you again someday." She was about to dart off the ship. When his hand shot out and grabbed her shoulder. It puller her into a tight hug, something she hadn't experienced in years.He wasn't sure if it was okay. He didn't give many hugs or words of comfort. He was acting on instict at the moment. "Thats a promise right? That you'll see me again. And join the crew." He added as an after thought. His arms tightened when she didn't say anything. "Yeah Zoro, I will." She hugged him back. His arm loosened a little but he didn't let go yet.  She honestly could say she didn't want him to at least not yet. Her tears hit his shirt, her emotions were going crazy it had been a long time since she cried. She had been alone for so long  had kept to herself. The feelings were overwhelming. While she contained her sobs her body was shaking. Zoro pulled back to look at her.He could protect her from anything but herself he mused. She looked as lost as he was, he saw tons of emotions pass in her eyes. She just closed them and tried to get a hold of herself. As soon as she calmed she went lax in his arms, that was new. "Lydia when you come back you'll tell me more about you right. What you went to do, and about your past?" he felt her tense again. He was about to retract the last statement when she responded. "Of course. Will you tell me about you?" Smiling he mumbled "Sure." he hadn't let go of her yet, didn't want her running off just yet. She was pretty exhausted and stressed, listening to his heart beat was alittle calming before she knew it her heavy eyes closed. Zoro noticed she had gotten heavier like she'd let go of all her weight, when he gazed down he noticed she fell asleep  in his arms. Smiling he decided he might as well get comfortable. Remembering how she seemed hard to trust people at first and yet she had easily trusted him. He carried her over to one fo the girls laid back chairs and sat down in her line of sight so she wouldn't freak out if she woke up. "Nicely done swordsman-san." His eyes shot up to Robin.  "Both your secrets safe with me." she said mysteriously has one of her many hands dropped two blankets to him. (Robin knows all right.) He placed it over her and watching her caused him to drift into slumber himself. He was woken up later than usual, alarmed he fell asleep to begin with. Alittle distraught he thought is was all a dream. He didn't dare ask anyone about you. he was going to go sulk in his weight room when he heard. "Zoro." It was Robin she handed him a letter with your name on it and walked away. She paused. "She said she'd see us all again, and she'd join the crew then. However she might have a sixth sense she knew to hand the letter to me when she bid us a farewell. " With that robin took her place beside Nami who also witnessed Lydia hand Robin the letter for Zoro with no questions asked. "She handed me some Beli and promised to share her treasure with us." Robin smiled, that girl is good, she thought. She seemed to quickly fit in with everyone. In the short days they all spent with her. She played games with Ussop, Chopper, and Luffy.  Answer questions, proved to be skilled in many areas, hold conversations with everyone in the crew. An while she seemed to have some issues, was independent enough to wanna handle it on her own as well as much more. Robin and the rest hoped Lydia would return to the crew soon. Everyone already was more than ready for a new friend to join them.  However things escalated and the crew was separated. And then Marineford had happened. Lydia at that time had already completed two goals and she was patiently waiting to complete her third. She had tracked down her father Mihawk now. That brought them to where she was now. Just then she heard footsteps approaching. Her reminiscing put on hold, when Zoro seated  himself next to her. "Lost again?" She wanted to teased but her smirk turned into a smile. "No, I'm not for once I'm not lost. I had alittle trouble but Perona helped me find where you were at. I've been busy training but I do think you have more than one promise to keep."  Hey eyes had softened when he had unknowingly made her heart pick up speed. Only to realized he was probably the least romantic person ever but she could live with that. "Your right I do. Guess I'll go back with you then if you and your crew will have me?"  He looked over at her. "I'm sure the offer still stands. I have no complaints, I even have a sparring partner now I know one of your secrets. By the way what were you doing up here anyway?"  Lydia met his gaze,  "Being honest I was thinking about everything. But mainly you," She stammered with a blush. " I mean how we first met and the crew I mean." The smile that lit his face at her answer cause her blush and her heart rate to quicken. "Well at least I've already kept two of my promises to you Zoro. I did see you again, I'm joining the crew. Guess its only natural I keep the last one."--Zoro had listen to her childhood, asked a few questions. An he even told Lydia of his. "You know after I defeat your dad and take the title of the worlds greatest swordsman, we help Luffy and everyone complete their dreams. I think I want a family." Her eyes shot to him. Its something she didn't expect. His eyes had a glint to them. An while she was good at reading people some to her were just unpredictable.  "Although thats far into the future and I don't think that far ahead. Just typically a live for the moment kind of person. Wanna go on a date see what that kinda future holds?" Her eyes  widen and her face flushed, did he just. She felt an array of things. She didn't know how to respond to him. He looked away you don't have to answer now. Just thought I'd put it out there. He sounded almost disappointed. She hadn't rejected him , just didn't know how to answer. But she stood up walked over to him. His eyes went directly to her as she walked over. Her face was flushed and she cautiously wrapped her arms around him. "Zoro" She answered unsure. "I'm lost when it comes to things like this, I've missed out on alot of things. But I care about you alot. An its different than what I feel for my friends. Its alittle scary but I wanna try it. Be patient with me." She was starting to shake when he wrapped his arm around her. "So this you agreeing to be my woman?" Her blush darkened an she nodded her head. Zoro was the only person to make her feel this shy on top of other emotions. She took the liberty to move her head off of his chest an leaned up to kiss him on the cheek. Pleased with the blush on his face, took the opportunity to dash out of the hug. While in shock he came back to reality. "Hey Lydia you didn't answer my question" he shouted down the hall. Giggling was all he hard before she said. "If you can find and catch me Zoro I'll give you my answer." she shouted back. "If you can't, I'll give you a another chance to with a duel. Either way thats the only way you'll get your answer."  He took off after in the  sound of her voice. Hell he'd find her before dinner, no way he was gonna wait to duel her. She had stopped giggling an was sure she had gave them the slip when she saw her father. She made her way over to him. " Dad." She tired the word out on her tongue. He seemed pleased to hear her use it. "I think I know what I wanna do now, I found great friends before coming here. I'd like to go help them on their journey. It's the first time I had any thing like this since my time with mom. I'm really glad I got to meet you. An even more so you accept me for who I am. Keep my room open so I can come back an visit?" He stood up. He'd heard her an Zoro long before the man had asked his daughter out. He heard about her past, and even about the man he was sure would take his title. He felt pride in both, an while he was knew and very late to his fathering instincts, he approved of her choices. He hugged her. He could tell she was trying not to cry. "Anytime." He assured. "I support you. An I'll give you a transponder snail so you can contact me anytime you need or want to." Her smile was so bright he couldn't help but return with one of his own. He then turned to go to his room before dinner. Before he was at of her sight "Its a shame I won't get to see you duel him again before you go." An he closed his door. What did he mean. Oh! He had he heard that. Shit she was about to take off in a sprint but to arms had already grabbed her "Oh no you don't I won,found you,caught you."  Then she had the odd sentiment that her dad approved. "Zoro" Drawing his attention to her. She quickly pressed her lips to his pulling back before he could respond. "Yes, I'd like that alot." So the next chapter will begin. You have found your father, you've found friends/and joined a crew, you even found a future love, more importantly you found a home and a place to belong.
