bg3's romance system sure is an adjustment if you're used to bioware games where most of the romance turns (as in you know when you're advancing in the relationship) are generally telegraphed and you have a little less freedom once you've started something (but it also warns you if you're about to get locked in to a romance too so neither way is better it's just different). honestly even compared to divinity original sin 2 i feel way more at sea with where the romances are going to go (like flirting/dating multiple folk wise).

i thought we were all cool being poly/open (b/c everyone was thirsty for my tav at the start and made comments to this effect) but then my tav slept with karlach and both astarion and gale got mad/broke up with them (i wasn't even aware that i'd somehow triggered gale's romance tbh so that was a surprise too) and i was like OH NO, RELOAD, NEXT TIME BIG BEAUTIFUL RED LADY (breaking up with karlach sucked tho, feels bad. kinda feel like this tav might not end up with anyone b/c i legit can't tell who i'm actually romancing lol. like astarion is at "good" relationship but we haven't advanced past that but i've def started *something* with him but also he's kind of a brat so who tf knows)

Reasons to overblots :

1- Malleus

You mean to tell me that an almost immortal being is getting hate bcs he's loosing the closest thing he had to a friend and a father knowing that that'll happen to everyone he knows and can't take it like a mature adult ? When faes are canonically minors under the age of 200 and he's 178 and clearly struggling with his emotions since he was raised in loneliness ? Lmao. Okay. (I have to keep it short or I'll do a full Malleus analysis and no one wants that).

2 - Vil

I CANNOT put into words how much realism he was made with, and I could FEEL it through his overblot. Overblotting because no matter how HARD you try you'll always be second ? Because people will always prefer the other option because you're SO hard on yourself that you legit seems overworldly to others and it makes them feel intimidated ? Vil better than me I would've overblotted SO MUCH more in his shoes. And him being disgusted with his own actions because HE KNOWS THAT THIS ISN'T HOW HE SHOULD ACHIEVE GREATNESS OH I'M SICK. And the aftermath when Rook voted for the other team ? While I understand that it was logical and I don't blame him for that, it legit hurt me, so can you imagine Vil ? He literally almost fainted, and that's a tame reaction if you ask me. Vil overblot was perfect.

3 - Riddle

No need to elaborate I think. His overblot hit too close to home and I IMMEDIATELY loved him. Also while I love Ace he kinda deserved to be punished for the tart tbh. Like just don't steal what's not yours ? Use your brain ? Riddle punishing him was EXTREMELY reasonable, even more so when you know that he LOVES strawberry tarts, and Ace refuting that AND coming after his position when he could have just APOLOGIZED, is def one of the reason I wasn't fan of him for MONTHS. Not surprised that Riddle got very mad at him (I def would have too).

4 - Leona

Now his reason was very similar to Vil, but the reason I liked it less (doesn't mean that I disliked it) is because he knew he would be second from his birth, that nothing he could ever do would change that while Vil has the possibility to become first, and he's yet unable to do it and I find that even more tragic. Leona was literally doomed from the start and yet he still tried his best for years only for the people he would have been a king to if the successor was based on skills alone to be the one hating him ? Kill me. It caused him depression and ruined his life, so much that he gets held back on purpose to not go home ? Killed me even more. He deserved so much and he got so little hiahdqirongbzkzhzo.

5 - Idia

Listen, I understand the pain of loosing a brother, I lost one of mine, but never in my 20 years of life would I have ever thought of building an IA OF HIM ?? He kinda went crazy with this one. I wished we had gotten his parents' reaction to robot Ortho tbh. Him being unable to move on from Ortho was so good, especially when we know that he blames himself for his death, and getting CORRUPTED by og Ortho is perfect. I don't have a lot more to say, sorry.

6 - Azul - starting from here, there's a huge gap between the classements. The 5 firsts were TIGHT together.

He's an achiever who lost the empire he built, I get it. But like, just build it again. Stop crying and rolling on the floor, and get up and act like a man. Of course, I know he's still a minor too, so I understand why he reacts like that, but Idk. I didn't feel as attached to his overblot as the others, which I'm kinda sad about since I REALLY like him, he's just so enjoyable.

7 - Last and least, the bitch himself, Jamil

Could have prevented the overblot if he learnt what communication was and I'll stand by that. Tried to kill Kalim because he couldn't take his anger on their parents, the yk, lmactual reasons why he felt like this in the first place. And he held Yuu captive too. He has no excuses.

Design :

1 - Riddle

PERFECT. LITERALLY UNMATCHED. The cards, the dress, the makeup, the eye color change, everything was PERFECT !

2 - Vil

I didn't know I needed nun Vil before but I do now wtf. He made me think of Mary so much it's insane I was in shock. The spikes were GOOD.

3 - Jamil

Since this on design alone, this is the only time he'll ever be in one of my top 3. The color scheme was on point and the snake design was VERY fitting.

4 - Azul

It was GOOD. And since it gave us Azul in merform it's 🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️. The color was fitting once again and he just overall looked good.

5 - Malleus

I'll never say it enough but NEON GREEN IS SUCH A BAD CHOICE FOR DIASOMNIA LORD ! Forest green would fit them all MUCH better, and it's proved once again by his overblot design. The purple is good, but the green is such a thrown off dude... I also didn't particularly like the hair choice but I did like the tail. The rest of the design is just not very special.

6 - Leona (he's fighting with Idia for the last place)

The hair... the hair was not it. (I did like how it kinda matched Cater's (especially when you consider that Cater had called him sweatheart minutes before... my Leokei shipper sense is in action...)). The rest of the design was just meh.

7 - Idia

I'M SORRY BUT THAT WAS JUST HIDEOUS WTF. Idia with short hair is my nightmare dude.

Hey! The response to this ask is legit over a year late but better late than never and I have been excited to reply to this one for awhile.

For context, this was sent after I was sent a hate anon ask in my inbox stating that I was gross for calling Seonghwa 'Mommy' and analysing his kinks in my natal chart reading.

I just don't understand why ppl won't take the easier route and just scroll, like you're expelling unnecessary energy writing and I'm expelling unnecessary cognitive energy by reading it.

The 'should ppl write smut about real life celebrities' has been a question asked for literal DECADES now and i'm always on the belief that if you don't take it srsly- it's all good.

the argument of, why look for dark skin rep in a game made by a company who's colorist [either by choice or due to pressure from the government since genshin has incredibly insane cultural impact in China], is legit since its like me looking for clothes at the soup store and getting upset

But genuinely even if mhy had a vision with genshin and wanted to show a diverse world in its game, its kinda weak to be almost so blatantly colorist outside their playable characters. I don't think that making npcs dark skinned and playable characters light skinned is a good look, especially when it's the second time that that the human enemies of the region for the most part are darker skinned than the characters used to fight them

And i don't like how parts of the community jumps on people who critique genshin for this. Like, if its a non issue to you why get upset with people yk. Plus never speaking up on stuff is bad like fine, the multi billion dollar company won't listen to you, but id like to think that other people would learn from this to some degree and understand why people get upset. aeugh anyways on the characters specifically, the darkest skinned character in the trailer looks almost gray thats not great, and then the girls w darker skin tones [there's so few men in genshin lately] are dressed very much not at all which is a reoccurrence, sumeru dressed its darker skinned characters in not a lot clothing which like if you've ever been to a country that's hot and sunny, people don't dress in swimwear they dress in pants and sleeved shirts because hi sun damage exists and too much exposure is unhealthy and people tend to get used to the climate

Also a lot of animal themed characters this time, do correct me if I'm wrong but i kinda see an overuse in the women of color in genshin being animal themed but if im looking too much into it then uh idk maybe genshin should release a catboy

The modern theming in the outfits isn't egregious but i think too much streetwear might bog down the overall look, like latin america cultures just by themselves have amazing fashion and god id kill to see something like a dancer based on mexico's traditional dances since those are the prettiest dresses, like modernizing is fine [i believe i saw somewhere that chongyun's outfit is based on chinese streetwear and i think it fits great in with the more traditional outfits in liyue] but stuff like the hoodies around the waist and the weird half shorts half pants of one of the characters kinda weakens the overall vision [but I'm not well versed in fashion so I'm not sure what direction wouldve been best for natlan to take to both respect the fashion of the cultures inspo is taken from and also fit in with genshins vibes overall]

Natlan the region itself is the best thing of the trailer tbh, it's very nice looking and yea there isn't a yellow orange filter over it like this were american tv or something, and the music is great i think the one part of the team who does good is the music

Personal expectations, i just hope the characters are good, like i hope good personality saves these guys and my soul while i play the natlan quest getting flashbanged everywhere i look

Sending this ask because I feel like you're the one person who won't immediately think I'm splitting up chaggie because I ship charlastor, but with the introduction of Emily I feel like that's who should have been vaggie's partner.

We know vaggie has a white knight complex and doesn't seem to actually view Charlie as someone who can make her own decisions, or can be trusted to handle herself in certain situations. On top of that, I noticed something I thought was odd. Now I don't know the reasons behind it but if you closely watch, vaggie never refers to herself as Charlie's gf, nor does she refer to Charlie as her gf, or partner, or anything. Maybe it's a Pearl/rose quartz dynamic, but if that's the case then vaggie and Charlie shouldn't be together because they amplify each others worst behaviors. And to be fair to vaggie, she'll often give Charlie good advice and Charlie just kinda of ignored it? But then they never really have a conversation about this stuff, so neither can grow as characters.

So if they wanted to have a wlw ship where vaggie could be a protective girl without needing to help her partner grow as a person, Emily is right there. I especially feel like em would take offense at vaggie being punished for showing mercy and want to bring her back to heaven. Idk, I'm just spitballing but seeing welcome to heaven made me mad that this relationship feels so imbalanced but it'll probably be handwaved away when Charlie by all rights should feel super betrayed that this person who she's spent years with never told her a thing about this, leaving her blindsided in front of a court of other heaven dwellers. But I'm just rambling, I would love to hear someone's objective thoughts

As much as I WANT to like chaggie, I haven’t been able to. That’s not to say I think they should split, but the tropes with those two are INSANE. Sunshine x grumpy, overprotective x naive, gullible idiot x savior, etc. It’s just a LACK of story. What should’ve happened (in my own opinion), they legit should NOT have been together from the start. Their relationship should have taken time to develop and maybe even go into girlfriends if that’s what Viv wanted, but it was for a bonus star. Stories change all the time, though I just wish it developed better. Of course they were in a rush (the time constraint is crazy to me) so relationships haven’t had time. It’s been clear that Vaggie is just stupidly protective of Charlie because Charlie doesn’t have it in her heart to be mean. Brings back the gullible idiot trope who needs to constantly be saved. As far as Emily goes, that’s actually not bad tbh?? Vaggie gets cast out, Emily (the one who is ACTUALLY the embodiment of how an angel in Heaven should act) does not like this. It can resolve the power balance. Charlie does NOT need saving but because of her naivety, Vaggie has to save her.

He was MAD too. You could see it written on his face, and he's always been rumored to have thrown a fit over not getting nominated for Best Director for ASIB (even though he WAS nominated for Best Actor).

I think he's just... so bizarrely entitled. I'm not saying he isn't a talented actor (directing... who knows if ASIB was a fluke, and I do think he benefited from it being a remake, with three versions to draw from--it wasn't even the first one to focus on the music industry versus the movie industry). But Bradley was a comedy guy for years, and many of those movies were absolute stinkers. The Hangover Part II and III, He's Just Not That Into You, ALL ABOUT STEVE??? He was the "Not Michael Vartan" on Alias.

He really began to turn it around (moviewise) with Silver Linings Playbook and his other David O. Russell movies (which....) and tbh other actors understandably always got more attention--Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Amy Adams. He wasn't ever this guy who LOST BY A HAIR or was seen as like... super respected but passed over. Leonardo DiCaprio, easily one of the best actors of his gen, got passed over for an Oscar 4x (never mind the times when he wasn't nominated and should've been lol) and he's probably about to have another loss lol. Bradley has been nommed 4x, and let me tell you, he ain't Leo.

American Hustle--admittedly this was a shitty category that year, full of shitty people. But Jared Leto was very much seen as a shoe-in, as much as I hate to say it. Barkhad Abdi, I'm sorry.

American Sniper--honestly, such a bad movie lol. And he lost to Eddie Redmayne (whew, The Theory of Everything has taken a hit recently) who was in a very standard, "he had to work really hard physically" movie, but like... he did legit have to do some challenging work. And if it wasn't him, it would've been Michael Keaton, who was in a really different movie and had a strong comeback narrative.

ASIB--honestly, his strongest showing to me, but he wasn't ever gonna win. Rami was seen as obligatory after Bohemian Rhapsody. Which... I think Rami is a great actor. BR was a mess with a frankly disrespectful depiction of Freddie Mercury. I don't think it was THAT GREAT a performance either. But he did go into it very expected to win. This is probably the closest Bradley got and honestly, I would've given it to him because the category was weak that year, but I don't think he had a REALLY GOOD chance. Rami was anointed by then. And tbh, when he got passed over for Best Director... I think the writing was on the wall. I think he over-campaigned, and Lady Gaga was the real centerpiece and everyone knew it.

Again, this really wasn't a moment where it's like "WHEN WILL HE HAVE HIS MOMENT" like Leo. He's a good actor. There are a LOTTA better actors. The idea that he can compete with Cillian in... any of the above performances, let alone in MAESTRO, against what Cillian did in Oppenheimer especially, is delusional lol. Tommy Shelby Cillian, if he was up for an Oscar, would step on Bradley performance-wise, let alone Oppenheimer. In one of the playthroughs of Omori I really like, they have this ongoing joke where Kel is just bullied all the time, especially by Hero and Aubrey.  Every time Kel says anything, Hero says stuff like, "Kel, I'm going to BEAT YOU when we get home" or "Ohh Keeeel, I'm getting the BELT!!" and it's just met with Kel screaming, "NOOOO NOT AGAIN PLEASE!" and everyone's laughing about it and stuff.  And man, I'm REALLY not usually into any kind of incest kinks (just personally not my thing), but I'd lowkey be fine with an rp/fic where Hero just abuses Kel all the time and has him basically trained to obey and cower out of fear. x'D

Adding onto that, I also had so much fun with the Basil deaths in Black Space, so now I just imagine like Basil is the Kenny of the group, and he just dies horrible deaths all the time and comes back later, and no one even bats an eye beyond giggling or saying, "Oh wow, he's gonna feel that in the morning, tee hee!"

And then when Basil goes missing, Hero and Aubrey start putting Kel through a lot more shit because even they they don't really notice it, Basil's constant deaths and pained screaming do keep them pretty entertained.

Omori isn't phased by any of it ofc, since he's kiiiind of the one pulling the strings here.

I'm not sure how Mari would respond to everything.  Maybe it would be funny if she just acted like she always does and almost as if the stuff happening is just silly goofy bickering or stubbed toes, and she'll say stuff like, "Awww, don't worry, Basil!  All you have to do for a spider bite is (I don't even know, but like generic advice for a single, non-venonous spider bite)!"  And Basil is just like, "-gross sobbing- O-okay...!" while being devoured alive by a billion spiders or chomped in half by a giant one ahahaha.

Then she'll tell Kel, "Aww, Hero got mad at you?  Well... you did step on his foot after all.  But just apologize and talk it over and I'm sure he'll come around in no time! ^u^" and this is like, what you tell someone if all the angry person did was snap at them or get upset and leave for a bit.  But Hero literally broke a branch off the nearest tree and beat Kel with it until it broke lmao.

It's like... ultra horrific tbh?  But I kind of love soaking in more of that type of freaky shit.  It's almost appealing BECAUSE it's the absolute last thing that should ever be happening??

Kel is an absolute sweetie and deserves the world, Hero is a kind and patient big brother who immediately apologized and improved himself the one time he was ever really mean to Kel, and Aubrey is honestly a very good person despite putting on an edgy face when she got older and trying to push people away.  She's never out to truly hurt anyone.

So it's kinda fun to twist them up in this awful way, especially since the game itself kind of already did most of the work for me and all I did was enjoy that and also take a meme from a video series and run with it.

I mean holy shit, there's legit a whole scene in Black Space where Basil's DW friends all beat him to death and then act like everything is normal and fun. It's CANON, and everything I wrote here is of a similar caliber, just with the invitation to view it as abusive shipping if the reader desires.

Neo really did get her kick the puppy moment there :( May I ask if you could elaborate further on why you think she might not return from Ever After? If someone has to stay behind for team RWBY+J to be able to leave, I can see it happening. But if they can all leave I would love for Neo to join the cast after she's saved. It just feels sad to me if she ends up living forever alone in a fantasy world.

I actually don't think she'd stay there forever, but I also do not ever see Neo joining the squad exactly. Popping back up to help in the final battle, absolutely (I would bet on this actually), but joining them just kinda doesn't fit Neo and feels like it would ask too much, too soon, in terms of believability.

I'm all for redemption and reconciliation, especially in a fairy tale!, but it's a lot to ask of someone who legit just bullied someone into attempting suicide. With Emerald the squad had a foundation, and it's not a coincidence that she joins them before Mercury because of this foundation.

I do think they--particularly Ruby, actually--will save Neo from the Cat, but not necessarily for Neo's sake but their own. Neo's a person, and she doesn't deserve this. It's a principle that I suspect Ruby will cling to as she finds her way back through this, and I think she will save Neo in the end as a way of affirming that she is a Huntress. What that looks like may not be all triumph. But she is a Huntress, and that's what Huntress's do. (It's also a set-up for saving Cinder tbh.)

I can see Neo lingering in the Ever After for a bit, honestly, working through her own issues (it would also be a nice novel... lol). But it's possible she comes with them and does that in Vacuo. If she does, I still don't see her joining RWBYJNORE as a friend or equal, though.

See, Neo's role is fundamentally the trickster archetype. She's not really on anyone's side but her own. I also don't see that really changing, or anything set up to make Neo question that that should change. I don't actually think Neo is morally wrong for this or framed as morally wrong for it, in other words. Not everyone is cut out to be a Huntress or to want to fight for principles.

However, tricksters do usually have loyalty to people who value them, because if it affects their own interests, they'll care. See, Neo and Roman. If Ruby saves her, as I suspect she will, especially after Neo's own emptiness upon seeing Ruby attempt suicide, Neo will probably flounce off on her own to do whatever she wants... but if Ruby needs her, like at a final battle? Neo will show up and take names.

But who knows? I was somewhat wrong about the Cat's role and I'm not even a little mad about it because I loved the episode (it strangely comforted me, as someone who's dealt with PTSD and suicidal thoughts, plus the cat moment was truly horrifying in the best way). We'll see.

Attack on Titan is an Anti-War masterpiece and I am unbelievably hyped for the new episode that comes out this morning. Legit every time I watch it, I notice something new and I've watched this series since I was like 12. It's just AHAHHHHHH. I legit could write an entire paper on why it's so fucking incredible. The animation, the art, the music, the dialogue, the voice acting, the various themes, it's framing, just fucking everything. TBH I'm not mad it's ending. Lowkey, I feel the way they paced the last season was kind of annoying calling it the final season and then having 3 seasons' worth of episodes in it but whatever. Regardless of whether they keep the Manga ending or do AOE I really can't wait to see it. I want to watch this tale to reach its conclusion. I've been watching since late 2014 and I've been in love every step of the way. the only thing that sucks is the fanbase especially on Tumblr because it's all ship art and fan fics but whatever we ball. For the record that kinda stuff is fine but I never really see discussions on here abt the series as a whole which makes me sad. And when I do see conversation more outside of tumblr it's the dullest, least nuanced or even just dumb takes. (I.e eren did nothing wrong, or like zekes plan was right, Erwin would support eren, Floch was inspiried by erwin etc etc). Its a shame cause tumblr is the place for these kinds of nuanced discussions and I really just dont see it happen. Its fine ill enjoy it on my own if I have to. See ya tomorrow I suppose.

Damn Assassin's Creed 2 is like... SO much better than the first one that I'm legit surprised at what a huge difference it is

Everything obviously looks more fluid and modern and shit, but the game also feels and plays so much better??? The camera angles in the first one were atrocious and I felt like I had very little control over Altair once he got going in both exploration and battle, and it feels much easier and more satisfying to control Ezio!

Before I started playing, I read some people saying that the new games don't have good stories like the early ones, and while playing the first game I was just... Really confused about that tbh, because like? It was... Okay at best? Honestly I did not give a shit about any single character in Altair's story, like??? The whole thing was extremely predictable and honestly I can only really remember two of the nine targets: the book burner- because he made me mad, and the "ugly" one- because I felt awful for him. I couldn't remember anyone's names because of the lack of subtitles (this was actually kind of a big deal for me, having subtitles in the second one is fr such a relief), and overall I was kinda just... Hoping for the game to end already so I could move on to the next one lol. I still scaled all the viewpoints, saved all the citizens, and got all of the info... Which, by the way, I used literally none of because by god did the game somehow do a bad job at incentiving stealth, the swordfights were literally like the most engaging game play element and it was easier to just brute force my way through most of the game- even though some of the informer missions just. Would not allow for that, which I actually appreciate (even if they were a big pain in the ass) because istg most of the main targets just. Cannot be assassinated and must be beaten in combat!! Assassin's Creed who? I only know Guy Who Loudly Murders Everyone With His Sword's Creed

Anyway I only finished the first part of Ezio's story (the rigged execution) but the story there is also much more interesting already! I love the database system, the little comments from Shaun and Rebecca's notes are a really nice touch too!

Honestly... THIS is a game I actively enjoy playing, whereas I kinda just went through the motions with the first one unfortunately. I do think it was worth playing it to get to this one though! It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, I just... Knew better ones were on the horizon, but like. I didn't expect such a huge jump already tbh so I'm very pleasantly surprised

Also. On a very subjective note, I enjoy the setting of the second game much more because I basically already live in the setting of the first one lol, to me Europe is much more fun than The Middle East lol

i do think it's kinda magical, because it's one thing when we, the anons and me, work together for something, but it's another when i see members of my crew want to help out while they're not really on tumblr, and they're more gameplay people than plot (or plotwise they focus on very different things).

there was also when Salt offered to just give the audio for Siete's page, which was very sweet too, because he saw the bullying and realized he could help out in an unique way since he has Siete at lvl 150.

but Vampy Wings would not have been aware of what's going on on my blog, he didn't even know i discussed Siete with people there, but i legit just sent a message of what i wanted and he went "sure, just give me your HL raids", and then he did.

and i didn't mention it but he also like. Genuinely worked on it for a while? first he tried recording the whole thing, then just the scene, then he realized that the sound of the music was too loud, so he re-recorded it, and then he also took out the audio files.

and just because i mentioned that someone wanted to have this recording, and Vampy Wings just rolled with it and did it the perfectionist way, just because

Ugh and now my friend/roommate is upset and angry which both is rly triggering and also she's acting like she's the only person in distress RN. She got mad at me bc she came into the apartment stomping and complaining about the cashiers at the store being rude to her and I said smth like "that sounds like it sucks" which she got mad about bc she said it was dismissive. But it wasn't meant to be like what am I supposed to do Abt the rude cashiers. From what I am seeing according to spreen their team's stuff was glitched out and they actually won or would have won but it said they lost the admins are now reviewing all of their povs to confirm and that if it is confirmed then the blue team will be revived and they will also keep the yellow team who they were against as well they won't be redoing the games from that day just continuing on it is similar to how x died due to a glitch and how during the simon says games it was glitched out for the Spanish streamers but this stuff seems to happen a lot of the time of bringing back certain players if there was a bug but also seems like favoritism
