I’m sorry but I have to indulge my judgemental side today. I am begging some of you to learn just ... a little bit of media literacy. Please. I saw someone call people out for calling pyro a creature because apparently they had gotten it into their head that the reason people call pyro some sort of beast or perhaps a creature ... is because their gender is obscured and therefore the people who say this can’t see a nonbinary character without equaling them to something nonhuman.

Like them being genderweird in some way is a natural conclusion and makes sense for her character but also it was not intentional, we made that up. the CREATURE thing is VERY CLEARLY intentional on the design side. Calling it a creature is not a social justice issue, it is a result of people understanding visual shorthand. and. having eyes.

If you’re uncomfortable with genderweird people being called nonhuman, that’s fine. Nothing wrong with that. But also you have very much picked, possibly the very worst character to headcanon as NB? This is on you.

Please don't get me wrong, I like gale well enough, but he turns me off because I get the impression that he wouldn't care much about what I have to say. He's so intelligent and wise and he clearly has years and years of education and study under his belt. So what on earth could I even talk to him about without boring him to death? Because honestly, I like to talk, like, a lot. I'm just as passionate about stuff but not nearly as knowledgeable and I fucking hate that look on people's face when they're blithely listening to stuff that bored them? Im not knowledgeable enough to have anything to offer him

This is ironically how Gale feels about himself. He feels like he has absolutely nothing to offer anyone, which is why he went after the orb in the first place. He felt inadequate for a goddess, and he feels inadequate for Tav. The idea that Tav is attracted to him genuinely shocks him, too, because from his standpoint ... who could possibly love him? He's just a guy who screws everything up. That's why he's so elated when Tav shares their feelings with him.

He knows magic, but he doesn't know the world. He's clueless in certain areas. Despite being so knowledgeable and passionate about magic, he wants to know Tav. He doesn't care how intelligent or unintelligent you are, he only cares that you're a good person. I haven't finished his romance yet, but I've made some pretty silly decisions (like licking a dead spider) and he's still sticking by me. His desire for Tav isn't transactional at all. In fact, he'd probably find your question "what on earth could I even talk to him about without boring him to death" perplexing. The answer is anything! Gale's passion is learning and sharing knowledge, and if you talk to him about a subject he's already well versed in, he won't shut you down, he'll just match your enthusiasm. I'm playing as a wizard, and every time I've spoken to him about the Weave or books or anything my character knows as a result of her background, he gets excited, not bored.

Moreover, Gale's hobbies mainly consist of reading. That's it. He likes to sit on his balcony and read. I'm sure many people would consider that boring, and he knows it. That's why he gets agitated when you first meet him. He blatantly tells you his hobbies and everything he loves; reading, writing poetry, his cat, so when you ask him to elaborate or say "tell me the real you" he gets a bit defensive. He dodges the question about his past and anything regarding the orb, but he was also being 100% honest about who he is. He does love reading, he does write poetry, he does worship his cat, but that's all he really has going for him and he knows it's not substantial. At least not from his perspective. He's insecure.

Mystra was his entire life. He was secluded from childhood by a groomer and only had Tara and tutors on the side. Then he lived alone in his tower for over a year, fearing death, regretting his mistakes, and reevaluating his life. Companionship is literally the best thing you can offer Gale, because it's the only thing he truly wants. Even just a simple friendship means the world to him. Anything else you bring to the table is an absolute bonus. Don't forget, when you reach his maximum affinity he responds to your queries with, "Always a delight to speak with you."

Well. Quite a bit to unpack here on an otherwise unassuming Friday!

#2: I actually track this stuff. Admittedly the E-rated percentage is a bit higher if you look at RWRB only, but overall...

#3: I think anyone who subscribes to me on AO3, or indeed anyone who follows the kiwiana-writes tag here on tumblr and sees all those fucking WIPs, knows that I like to write a bit of variety. That's not to say there aren't definite underpinnings of, like, themes and vibes that I return to over and over (which I can only assume are why people subscribe to me), but if someone only likes my college AUs, or only likes my post-canon stuff, or only likes my E-rated stuff, or only wants to listen to my podfics, they're probably going to have a much more successful time saving the tag search than subscribing to me at the author level. Or they've mastered the art of archiving and moving on without complaining about it, like I do when the authors I'm subscribed to write something that doesn't interest me. It's a useful skill! I highly recommend cultivating it.

#4: AO3 not giving series stats is and continues to be the bane of my life, but based on the number of people who subscribed to the OG actor AU, there's probably a significant chunk of people who aren't subscribed to me as an author and only want the actor AU verse stuff. And good for them! I LOVE that AO3 offers multiple ways to subscribe so you can get notified for the stuff you want (my kingdom for the ability to subscribe to individual pseuds, though.)

#5: This fandom is OVERFLOWING right now. Like, I can't keep up. You only want to read E-rated stuff? Awesome! Well over 100 E-rated fics have been posted in the RWRB bookverse tag just this week (it looks like most of the movieverse smut has also been tagged bookverse, but either way it's also very easy to find). Or go back to older fics and find some hidden gems—there's nothing an author loves more than for someone to come in and gush about a fic they wrote a year or two ago.

#6: You don't pay me, and I'm not subject to annual review. One of my favourite authors was talking this morning about how sometimes she thinks about taking a break from writing for RWRB because it's starting to feel a little rat racey, and that would suck for me personally because I love her stuff but god knows I couldn't blame her, because the (extreme minority but still exhausting) entitled comments and rudeness really do not help. Stop treating your favourite authors like content creators who owe you something new on a regular schedule, because that's a damn good way to ensure they don't want to create anything new ever again. Like... anon, you haven't even bothered to couch this in a compliment. The bar is ten feet underground and somehow you still managed to trip over it.

#7: Not to be all 'back in my day' but... well, back in my day, snippets and peeks into the universe of a remotely popular longfic were pretty much the standard lol. Nobody is forcing you to read them, I promise.

I like the callback again. Logic and self-imposed rules are what ultimately stops negators from fulfilling their potential. serge, as i've said, isn't a big videogames guy. he likes rhythm games and maybe simple games like minecraft and stardew valley. he'd be more of a mobile game guy, yk the ones where you can just log in daily, do tasks on a farm and then log out until next day? something like that works for him, 100%. also he'd like the papa's games because they're like clocking into a 9-5 and they make him feel accomplished.

jack is also a fortnite and shooting game guy, he plays minecraft and tries to do speedruns ... and fails, ofc.

liliath isn't too into videogames either ... maybe dressing games and simple farming games like ACNH but that's it probably? it'd be funny if he liked shooting games tho, he needs to get his anger out somehow ...

gilbert doesn't play games UNTIL he's out of auguste's grasp, once he's out he actually has access to a phone and stuff. what does he play? this game. only this game.

he probably doesn't have much interest in most games until later on, but for now he's enjoying cats & soup. a lot.

Look, I wish (haha) that I could give positive points to Wish. I really do.

I wanna say "But the character designs were good!" But they weren't. I saw what Asha could have been, and the majority of the side characters were okay but also kinda eh, and the villain and his wife were fine...but any positives, any positives, are negated by the generic cuteness of that stupid star. I've never felt such visceral loathing of a plushified thing since they put a cat into a Buzz Lightyear movie set in the 90s that everyone was supposed to love, when that would be the WORST PART of a 90s action movie that every kid would think was cool.

I wanna say "But the songs were good!" or even "But the main song was good!", but, again...no, they weren't! They were passable, and the main one from all the trailers had a GREAT refrain, 9/10, very moving, but every other line was nothing I wanna listen to. The best Disney songs rule in both their verses AND their refrains. That one? No. And the timing on the songs? Their function in the story? No. Wrong. All wrong! The introductory song knew what it was doing, but after that? It was all paint by numbers!

Even the VILLAIN SONG was wrong! Because he's all "WHY DOES NO ONE APPRECIATE ME???" when every scene prior was showing just how much they loved the king. And it's not even a matter of "Well of course, that's because he's a Villain and it's Never Enough!", because...no. It's not conveyed. There were better pedestals atop which to set his villainy!

The diversity was great, but I can't even praise that, because it's a Bad Movie and all that wonderful stuff was wasted! Same with the storybook-looking imagery, which was REALLY perfect in a few shots, but would immediately cut to another one that would never work in a storybook.

I'm just frustrated because I threw every lifeline I could at this thing and it went "But what if we did a reference that was kinda clever, and then immediately had a character EYEROLL AT IT because we know it'll be awkward? That's humor!"

No. It was a bad movie!

EVEN WHEN THE MOVIE SUDDENLY GOT DARK and I was like "Oh. That's a little heavy. Good job, Disney movie", they went and said "AND ALL THAT'S BEEN FIXED NOW!" at the end.

It would have also been nice if there had been ANY EMOTIONAL CONNECTION WHATSOEVER between the characters. I mean anything beyond "we're best friends" (which is actually stated via dialogue, like everything else in that movie, there's a scene where someone is sitting there looking frightened and someone says "she looks frightened...", YES, your animators actually conveyed that!!!).

I can't even praise the animation, because characters like Happy were just kinda smiling most of the time...she should have been JOYFUL! Excited by everything! Something good happens and she cheers loudly, because she's HAPPY! And Grumpy was just sort of sarcastic...no real arm-folding, no sneers, no furrowed brows...this is animation, it's a celebration of 100 years of animation, and you can't even put out solid expressions and intense emotions???

THIS WAS YOUR PARADE, DISNEY??? This was the Love Letter? That was just a bunch of cheap Disney Movie references!

But the next round is Till vs Luka, which would be different from the pattern (Sua vs Mizi, Ivan vs Till)... so maybe to complete the pattern Hyuna puts herself in instead of Till. mom pick me up I'm scared On top of that, Ivan wore black before, but switched to white. Does this have to do with something... (Was Till supposed to die instead...) I think it might suit Ivantill as well hold on When Mizi and Sua found each other (refer to MIZISUA video), Sua has lost hope already, but Mizi's love gives her some hope in the dark. Then they are torn apart, but still want to be together. The one who lives (Mizi) is in grief. Ivan's empty eyes look like he has lost hope, just like Sua. Till gave him a reason to keep going (see: Black Sorrow, their relationship shown in Cure <- this video)

Back to the video Till laying there by himself, Ivan moves the (muzzle?) restriction, maybe to help him breathe Ivan's verse reflects Till's but it's different in multiple ways "Cold words" - Referring to Till? (well... till has always been naturally sassy...) Similar to Till's statement in the first part, Ivan is saying that Till can break him apart and build him back again (mend) I guess they fought and became friends 💀 "I'll drown in you" as well. Till would sacrifice himself for Mizi, Ivan would sacrifice himself for Till (CRIES) Ivan feels "seen" by Till, Till wants to dissolve in Mizi's gaze Why does he reach for the back of Till's neck? Till unawares (sleeping)? Are the two somewhat related? I will proudly say that my favorite TES game is Morrowind, I picked it up last year and I'm madly in love with it, but I have always noticed the developers referencing some elements of middle eastern culture, whether it's the Ashlanders or the building itself, or something along those lines. Despite the presence and feeling of Hinduism in the game, I feel as though the middle eastern element is less discussed. Plus, I'm not a hindu, but someone from the middle of nowhere in Saudi Arabia, so I can't really say much. so i decided to make this post, where i point out stuff i have noticed in the game and basically give myself an excuse to go "my video game mentioned my culture!!!!!"

lets start with an obvious one, moon and star. moon and star is the ring that is given to you by azura, and its also the logo of the game. and wouldnt you know, its one of the symbols of islam, the Star and crescent

i also have this theory about how the ring is a reference to solomon's ring, i can kinda see it but im not 100% sure.

now for a part im surprised no one talked about, the quran page in one of the pages.

this part genuinely took me by surprise, out of all things i didnt expect to see a quran page here, the image i attached is not the exact page but its the closest i found and is mainly here for comparison. you can even see the lil circles where the numbers of the verse are supposed to be, i dont know how to access the texture so this is the best image i could find.

ashlander tent patterns

i just thought its cool how morrowind has taken a lot from different cultures, including mine, for world building. i love being able to recognize my culture in lore, i would mention eso but im kinda bummed on how it seems to lessen it? kind of? i havent played in years but from what i remember there was barely anything to drive home :/ oh well, i mightve forgotten some parts like how the architecture has inspiration from north africa and the arabic peninsula, or how ashlander names are taken from ancient Babylonian and Assyrian names, but i thought id make this post for funsies :)

SHIPPING PSA: PT. 2 (An addendum to my original shipping guidelines here).

           I've mentioned in my rules and PSAs to date that this blog is both multiship and duplicate ship friendly. This is still 100% the case, and as @climatact noted in her PSA this changes basically nothing, but I'm updating this now to say that this blog IS multiship but DOES feature a MAIN SHIP with @climatact's Nami.

           Generally speaking, all ships take place in their own verses regardless, but what this means as my main ship is that unless we're talking about potentially shipping or a specific verse is requested otherwise, it is to be assumed that in any memes, tags, or various interactions set in Law's Main/Canon verse, Law is either actively in a relationship with Bunny's Nami or set to end up one.

           This does not have to (& may not) feature or be mentioned in the threads themselves, but it is a canon/assumed thing in my main verse writings with him. This isn't an aspect anyone has to play into or acknowledge (though you're more than welcome to if you wanna because I love stuff like that - especially since *coughs* the likelihood of a Straw Hat Law is increasing by the day) and as I know the ship may not be everyone's favorite, I am happy to avoid particular focus on it in our main verse interactions if you'd prefer not to engage with that aspect. ♡

           This is not meant to take anything away from my other ships. I love each and every ship I have as well as all the muns who write them with me SO MUCH. I am still multiship and duplicate ship friendly, and would be delighted to discuss/explore ships with anyone who's read my shipping guidelines & is still interested in writing one with me! But as I got into roleplaying thanks to Bunny in general and specifically for the sake of writing this ship together, it holds a special place in my heart and it seems only right that this will henceforth be considered the main ship for my blog.

I've seen people theorize as part of the devil's timeline (which I don't really subscribe to, but am curious about) that ggdd were pretending not to know each other beforehand when they started filming CQL and that that would explain why they got more familiar over time but also so quickly in the BTS. To me this would explain a couple things (like sharing phones so soon) but creates so many more questions that I have a hard time buying it. Mainly: I 100% understand why they wouldn't want to tell fans/the world at large any more details about their personal lives/relationship, since it's not our business, but I can't figure out why they'd like... act in front of the whole rest of the cast as strangers. I don't *think* it would make it seem like one gave the other any advantage in the casting process, but what do I know? And I can't think of a lot of other reasons for acting that elaborate/long-term. I was wondering if you had any takes on this?

Also! I wanted to say thanks again for your posts so far and I respect that it's not something you plan to keep doing, but I was (hoping) wondering if you were thinking about sticking around in the fandom as more of a spectator? I'm also a new turtle as of like 5 months ago so it's nice not to be the only one still going 🤯 over some of the BTS in 2023 when it's ancient news to everyone else. Thanks again for your hard work on your posts and timeline!

Do they share phones really early? The earliest I saw was 7.7, though I'm not especially eagle-eyed. Beyond that instance and dd using gg's phone while the cast ate lunch on 8.2, I didn't notice either of them sharing phones in the videos I saw.

I guess I'm the odd one out bc I don't think they became familiar unusually fast. It seems like a reasonable timeline for the age they're at, from my experience. So I don't see the need to have an explanation for that since I don't see anything out of the norm in how their relationship progresses.

That's probably why I take the Devil's Timeline as interesting speculation but not much more.

But your main point is definitely a sticking point for me too.

Spitballing it, maybe they wanted to hide the nature of their relationship at first until they realized it was a gay-friendly set. But even then, why act like they don't know each other at all? They have a reasonable explanation for how they'd be acquainted: they met on DDU a year before. I'm not sure why they'd play coy.

Of course, behind the scenes industry stuff is always a wild card. We don't know what we don't know, and maybe gg and dd had a good reason to pretend they didn't know each other at all. I'm not well-versed enough in c-ent to even have a guess as to what that might be, but I assume it's possible.

At the same time, they later seem open about their relationship on set, even having couple fights and flirting while surrounded by cast and crew. So why hide things at the beginning?

I've been watching through some more of the daily bts on another playlist, and gg and dd act how I'd expect 2 reserved people to act on the first few days of working together. Of course, that's real subjective to assess, so somebody else could come away with a completely different impression of how they're acting. But, personally, I don't see anything that needs any explanation.

re: your second para: I'll probably go back to lurking. I have a primary tumblr acct that I use to lurk on a bunch of fandoms. I already followed the bjyx tags and a lot of the turtles on that acct before setting this up. I definitely plan to keep up with the boys, but I don't foresee posting that much in the future.

I always get to a fandom late! I missed all the excitement when the bts first came out, but I still feel hype when I come across new-to-me stuff. I'm happy to enthuse with others!

A reminder to new folks because I feel I need to say this. It's a few specific rules and more of a 'this is how i roleplay' thing. It kinda got away from me fast but alas, I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable for any reason so I just said what I feel i need to say to make that happen.

My muse is mean. It's usually nothing personal but he is Mean if provoked. There is a line and it is Thin.

This extends to his friends, mostly as a show of ease around them and as jokes, its just how he is. a little jokey joke. he says things without thinking and sometimes that leads to misunderstanding or an otherwise "cruel" comment. He normally doesnt mean it like that (unless he does)

this account is like 80% crack. i am here to have fun and be silly. if you take me seriously and get offended by it then I'm sorry but frankly, I have stated this many, many times. I do roleplay serious stuff, I do focus on a little bit of storytelling every once in a while, but for the most part I am silly and quirky. My portrayal won't always be 100% ic, sometimes a little ooc is healthy, for the bit. I stay committed to the bit, always.

Of course. if he's mean to your muse and you don't like it then you can let me know and I'll tone it down. I'll never be an asshole to people I dont know are 100% down to it or who aren't familiar with how my muse acts. However, sometimes being mean is in character with my muse and theres no other way around it. But the more intense, "i want to cause psychic damage" convos I will always ask if its okay for my muse to go hard on yours.

Rodimus is aware of the multiverse. This does not mean he's aware of the history of each multiverse. He may be aware of them, briefly, but he is really not going to dwell on it much and if you expect him to know it he just. wont. He doesn't really care all that much. This is also to say that he may confuse your muse for someone in his crew because of looking alike, and will treat you as such unless proven otherwise.

There are no people who are "canon" to Rodimus' crew, not at the moment. The only ones who I can say with confidence who are in his crew are @weavingmemoir and @stealthfeline, who are also my muses. This is for practicality. If your muse is part of the Lost Light crew in general, though (brainstorm, whirl, megatron, etc) you can respond to my lost light posts as if you were a member of his crew, I dont really mind. Like I said: commitment to the bit, always. The bit is always funnier when more people join.

Don't pretend like your muse knows mine and vice versa without talking to me first. This is mostly about muses outside G1 and IDW, or even people in IDW that Rodimus never really met, as well as OCs. It isn't really towards muses who HAVE interacted with Rodimus at least a few times. It is Awkward having to figure that out, and I'm not particularly a fan of having to dig around for people's relationships to understand what's going on between your muse and mine.

I don't really care if your muse is banging another Rodimus, or anyone else from his crew. Like I genuinely do not care, and neither does he.

I'll always make adjustments if you ask me to. I'll create new verses to fit with your muse, but that requires communication first and foremost. This also goes for events, if you want in on an event just talk to me and we'll see about it together. My events are never 100% thought out because I like leaving space for other participants to have a say in what happens. I just think its fun, like a group project (but less stressful)

When interacting with me I ask to lay off on the quirky colors and varying different fonts in one single reply. I have a lot of difficulty reading things like that and it strains my vision and it gives me a headache. Just, always have the same font throughout, and if there are different fonts, please let them be at least readable. The standard tumblr fonts are fine, except 'lucille', and the small font tends to me specially frustrating sometimes.

This is a g1/idw based blog. I take stuff i like from g1 and stuff i like from idw and i slam it together until I have something I like. Rodimus does not like the prime title, he does not miss being a prime, and he absolutely does not appreciate being called one, unless its doing things for his ego or to make himself look greater than he is. He is an Ass.

HSMTMTS Opinions: Part 2

My first post is surprisingly popular so here I am with part 2! Go read part one if you haven't.

Disclaimer: THESE ARE MY OPINIONS. If we don't have the same opinions, that's fine. DO NOT attack me cause I'm simply stating an opinion. Only doing five this time because it's 1 am in Australia and I should sleep.

Seb should have been in the musical in season 4. I DO NOT care that he was helping out with Craft Services/avoiding Carlos. Joe Serafini was severely underused and admittedly, I was a Seb as Ryan truther. I loved Carlos as Ryan but I really wanted Seb because he would have been so good! I'm happy Seb was even in season 4 but still, I wish he was in the musical.

The HSM4 plotline was poorly executed. It felt like it took up so much time but really didn't do anything. Sure, it gave Gina her movie star plotline, but I'm going to be honest and say that I would have preferred that the HSM4 plotline was cut and we focused on... you know... DEVELOPING JETNEY? JETNEY SCREENTIME?

This season felt like a fanfiction and while it was funny, it felt far too weird. I'm 100% certain that when Jet was rambling about how Mack was "really handsome", I'm very certain that I wrote very similar stuff before. This specific plotline involving MY SEB MATTHEW-SMITH and BIG RED was ripped directly from fanfics too but I will not elaborate on that.

The biphobia this season was just gross. I won't even comment further on it besides that it was gross. FYI, writing a character cheating on their significant other and calling it their "bi-origin story" is just so wrong and I'm shocked that no one saw a problem with this.

Rinas... DO NOT COME FOR ME, but I think Can I Have This Dance was the better Rina duet instead of Maybe This Time. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, I like Maybe This Time, but it just doesn't hit as hard as CIHTD. The chemistry was just on fire in the CIHTD scene, also talk about their vocals??? Sofia Wylie truly had me in a chokehold from how beautiful she sounded. Maybe This Time was good as well, but I really only enjoy the chorus and not their individual verses.

i reckon the best route for him to meet someone, fall for them and vice verse, and have a good relationship would be if he met them outside of school/uni

basically, furu’s one of the good ones.

furu doesn’t have much interest in pushing it into becoming romantic - as much as he does like you, he’d much rather continue having someone to talk to, especially when that someone’s you, than risk it all by taking the relationship in a different direction

furu’s not a pda type, nor is he touchy-feely. even something like holding hands won’t be common in the relationship, especially not when in public. 

the big tell that you’re his no1 is how much more talkative he is with you, and how much more aware he is of your emotions, compared to those of others

i’ve probably brought this up on other furu hc posts, but furu’s love language is 100% gifts/acts of service

bringing you your own flowers (in a pot, with strict instructions on their care), baking you bread and sweets (and then going on a tangent about how bad the processed stuff people buy in stores is for the body), and so on

he might sound like a real pain at times, but he means well

Okay hear me out.

I know I'm a sucker for Choso not knowing shit and having to learn stuff. Because I am delulu and it's cute.

BUT at the same time I cannot get it out of my head that Choso with his 150 years of age is bound to have a lot of knowledge acquired. And let me tell you, he's also very interested in learning new things. He might seem boring to other people but he loves reading up on stuff, so now with all this technology he's constantly reading up on things he used to know. All you hear from him will be "They proved this one thing wrong that I thought was right" and it's some theory that was established 120 years ago but been debunked in the 50's

So in terms of living among humans and technology he might not be the most well versed being (for now) but he's smart, intelligent and knows a lot. Just imagine you're out somewhere, like a zoo, and you look at some animals and he just says something like "Did you know about 100 years ago the first article about dogs and cats being colourblind was published? But it's actually not quite correct. Dogs and cats have much better color vision than we thought."

but i love nerdy choso sm!!! he loves to look up new things and teach himself all sorts of random stuff!! i think he'd definitely take a special interest in animals, but probably history as well, seeing as he missed so much of it. he's surprisingly a great partner at trivia night??
