Sparks in the Worplace Chapter Two

Jun feels a little insecure about her place in the Hero world and The Talented Other confirm it for her. Let’s just say, Bakugou isn’t putting up with it.

Today is the day of the interview and I am hungover as hell. Whoever I was dancing with last night needed to go to the back of my mind. The mystery Romeo would never come back into your life anyways, it was a one off deal.

“What are you thinking about, nerd?” Bakugou pulled you from your thoughts, a smirk on his face. My face burned and I turned away from him,my hands fidgeting.

“Nothing,” I growled out.

“How was your date last night?” I eye Bakugou. He was never this friendly with me, asking about things. I turned my gaze to Midoriya who seemed to find something very interesting on the floor.

“It’s none of your business.”

“Someone didn’t get laid.” He throws his head back and laughs.

“Kaachan!” Midoriya is suddenly very engaged with our conversation. “Be nice to her.”

“Thank you, Midoriya” I reached over in the car to touch his hand. He stammers a bit and blushes ferociously.

“N-n-no problem, Jun.”

“Oi! Since when are the two of you on a first name basis?” Bakugou snaps and pulls on my shoulder, pulling me away from the childhood friend.

“It’s none of your business, Bakugou.” I sneer at him. His eyes go wide at my actions and he takes the hand off my shoulder. I can feel a swell of pride blooming in my chest.

It takes a while to get to the studio for the interview. I spend most of my time in hair and makeup with Midoriya’s PR Rep, Nishihara Midori. It’s kind of ironic, I think to myself, that Midoriya got a rep with a similar name as him. I look over at her and admire her beauty for a second. She has jet black hair, dark skin, and bright purple eyes. She is quirkless but a spitfire all the same. Her full lips make me feel a little envious and her curvy body is enough to capture any man’s attention. I have caught Bakugou admiring her fit body a few times, not that I cared at all.

“Nishi-chan” I ask after the hair and makeup crew have left.

“Yes, Ikeda-san?” Her hair glistens in the artificial lighting. I feel ugly next to her.

“Have any of the heros hit on you before?” She throws her head back and laughs at my question.

“Of course! Charge Bolt is the worst at hitting on me, if I am being honest.” Her eyes turn to mine and she gets a serious look on her face. “Can I ask you something serious?” I nod, hanging on every one of her raspy words. “Do you think Bakugou-kun would ever be interested in me?”

“I’m sure!” I answer a little too quickly. “I-I-I’ve caught him looking at you.” I whisper to her, making her giggle. I swallow something thick in my throat.

“Should I ask him out? He seems like the type who likes his girls to ask him out.”

“I wouldn’t know what he likes, he hates me,” I laugh a little awkwardly, “Try it and let me know!”

Nishihara winks at me and turns away as the boys come in from their hair and makeup. She’s already giggling and sauntering her way to Bakugou. I stiffly turn to my mirror and look at myself. I know I’m not ugly but my nose could be different and my body could look more like Nishihara’s, but it doesn’t. None of the hero’s hit on me, if anything they keep their distance from me. I figured it was because they hated me but now I know it’s because I’m ugly.

“Jun” Midoriya’s voice pulls me out of my thoughts. “Are you okay?” He has a hand on my shoulder. I smile up at him feeling tears in my eyes, he is always so kind to me.

“Yes, Izuku”

“Hey, nerd!” Both Midoriya and I flinch but look at Bakugou like a lost puppy being summoned. Bakugou looks pissed. Midoriya’s comforting warmth disappears from me and he puts his hands up in defeat. “It’s time.” He growls, shoves his hands in pocket, and disappears.

I look at Nishi-chan and mouth “What was that” to her, she shrugs her shoulders and waves for me to follow her. I do. We trail behind the boys as we get closer to the heart of the studio.

“Welcome!” A bright blue haired woman stands next to a bright green haired man. I know exactly who they are. They’re the hosts of the show, siblings Furutara Noriko and Terou. They’re twins who share the same quirk, Laser. The ability to physically control already produced lasers.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you” Midoriya bows, as do me and Nishihara.

“Whatever.” Balugou huffs. I narrow my eyes at him and slap his shoulder. “Nice to meet you or some shit.” That’s even worse! I facepalm at his words.

“Just as we expected.” Terou, the bright green haired man, smiles like a snake. All teeth and venom.

“He means, We wouldn’t expect anything less from the number 5 and number 8 heroes.” Oh god, please don’t start this. My hand is already on Bakugou’s shoulder, threatening to use my quirk on him. Every time someone mentions that Midoriya is three spots ahead of Bakugou, he explodes the place.

“All because of the sparkling things we know about them, right?” I smile charmingly, tightening my grip on him. I wanted him to know this interview had to go smoothly.

“Exactly!” The twins chime in together. “Let’s get started!”

We get situated in our seats, the boys on both sides of myself and Nishihara. Terou and Noriko are insistent that we are all friends here and we call them by their given names. Myself, Nishihara, and Midoriya agree. Bakugou simply crosses his arms and I have to give the usual spiel.

“Bakugou here prefers that only the family calls him by his first name. He’s very particular about that.” I beam at Bakugou who is still staring down at our hosts.

“A man of honor, I like it!” Noriko leans on her hand and stares back at Bakugoul.

“Alright! Welcome to a new episode of The Talented Few! I am Furutara Terou-”

“-and I’m Noriko!-“

“And today we have the King Explosion Murder himself, Dynamight!” Terou smiles.

“We also have his childhood rival, Deku!” Noriko has shifted her gaze to Midoriya who gives her a winning smile.

“We should let the beautiful ladies here introduce themselves.” Terou’s eyes are directly on Nishihara and I feel myself still at this comment.

“I’m Nishihara Midori. I am Deku’s PR Rep.”

“I’m Ikeda Jun, I am Dynamight’s PR Rep.”

The first portion of the interview goes over just fine. Bakugou is a man of few words as usual and Midoriya carries most of the conversation. There are occasional questions for myself and Nishihara but those are far and few between. Just when I think this isn’t going to be a shit show, Noriko asks a question that stumps me.

“Why did the Dynamight-Red Riot team hire you, Jun?”

“What?” I asked, totally taken off guard.

“Well?” Terou is at the edge of his seat. “It has to be because of your plain looks.”

“It was because of my quirk.” I respond in a small voice, looking down at my hands. It was probably to not tempt Bakugou either.

“Shut up.” Bakugou snaps, making everyone look at him instead of me. “Ikeda is amazing at her job and we hired her because of her quirk and experience.”

“Bakugou-” I warn but I’m interrupted by the man himself.

“No, I won’t handle slander against my team.”

“Come on man, look at her next to Midori. You can’t tell me she wasn’t hired to make sure you don’t screw her. Hero’s are known for screwing their PR Reps.” I can feel tears welling in my eyes. Bakugou stands in his seat and grabs my wrist.

“We’re done here.” I look at Midoriya for help but he looks just as livid. Midori is trying to get me to stand and before I know it we are leaving the vicinity.

“Bakugou.” I’m trying to get his attention. “Bakugou!” I jerk my hand from his grip and he stops, turning to me sharply.

“What.” He growls.

“You can’t storm out just because they decided to pick on me! Imagine how that makes me and you look!”

“I don’t tolerate that kind of bullshit.”

“You were about ready to cry!” Midoriya chimes in with Nishihara nodding her head.

“We can’t do this! It doesn’t matter whether I cry or not. We should go back and apologize.” I turn away from the group and march back into the building. I can see the twins coming up the hallway. Someone grabs my wrist again and I turn to see Midoriya.

“Come on, Jun, let’s just leave before you have to use your quirk.” I peer past Midoriya to see absolute anger written all over Bakugou’s face.

“Fine but I am not writing an email to the rest of the team.” I brush past Midoriya and the rest of the group. I head straight to the car and I don’t say a single word to anyone else of the ride home.

After the disastrous day at work I decided to go out with some girlfriends from the office and Ashido Mina. She would be a “work girlfriend” if she wasn’t a hero with her own agency and the number 10 hero on the leaderboard. Due to her relationship with Kirishima, she was around a lot and we had formed a strong bond in our mutual dislike for Bakugou. Hers was more of a gossip-y shit stirrer hate while mine, mine was genuine.

“Tell me mooooore!” An absolutely shit faced Mina is hanging on every word I’m saying.

“All I have to say is that I am mad that Bakugou gets to pick and choose when he likes me. If it benefits his image he can be the perfect boss.” I take a shot. “Otherwise he is a royal asshole.”

“You know, Bakugou doesn’t know how to handle his feelings.” Mina defends.

“He’s emotionally constipated and I am tired of people defending him” The other girls just peer into their glasses and don’t say a thing.

“What about your date!” Hikaru from accounting asks. I roll my eyes and take another shot.

“He ditched out on me. Takeuchi is a pussy.” I sneer.

“What! He was so excited for that date, he talked about you all day!” Hikaru pouts and another one of the girls coughs. “Oh yeah, Bakugou came in accounting that day-”

“Jun! Let’s dance!” Mina is quick to jump up and pull me away from the others.

We dance for a little before Mina starts talking about a handsome sidekick of hers. I look at her confused because I know she is dedicated to Kirishima.

“I want to set up a date with him! I think you two would look cute together!” She smiles at me. I look at Mina in shock! Me?

“Sure! Can I give him your number?” I quickly nod and listen intently as Mina tells me more about the sidekick, what his quirk is, and what he looks like. I am suddenly excited! Maybe this date will be a good one. I need something in my life besides my hatred for Bakugou feuling my reason to wake up every day.

Ikeda Jun wants nothing more than to graduate college and leave her job as Dynamight’s PR Rep. After one fateful interview, she’s left pretending to be his lover.

Based on my Kinktober Prompt “Hate Fucking”

I didn’t want this job. I wanted to go to school and work in a simple office. I live in a world dominated by heroes and villains. Which is why I needed to jump through some hoops to get the dream job I wanted. Until then, I would have to suffer being the official PR Representative for the most explosive hero in the industry, Dynamight.

My interview was simple and I was offered the job of the spot based on my quirk, Gentle Touch. My quirk is the ability to calm anyone’s psycho-sympathetic nervous system with a simple touch. Of course, I had my limitations such as it worked only if I was touching them the whole time and it only worked for 30 minutes per use on each person. They knew that my quirk would be a good look working the infamous Explosion Murder God, Bakugou Katsuki.

Simple to say, I hated him from the moment I started working with him. I quickly found out that my quirk works especially well on him and it pissed him off. So, he tried his best to make my life a living hell.

“Hey, ponytail!” Bakugou yells at me from his office. I look up from my computer to see him crook a finger in my direction, summoning me to his office. Usually he sends out his assistant to fetch me.

“Yes, sir!” I quickly stand and bow.

I found that calling him sir and other terms used for old men made him mad. While he is technically my senior, based on him being 5 years older, he didn’t take lightly to being called old. Oh man, the time I called him uncle lingered around in my head.

“Don’t smirk, Ponytail, you’re creepy.” He sneers at me.

“Okay, Senpai.” I teased, watching the fire light in his eyes. I could immediately smell the threat of nitroglycerin seeping from his palms. He knew I would use my quirk on him and that was enough to keep the explosions at bay. It also royally pissed him off.

“Quit it.” He growled out and slammed the door behind me.

“To what do I owe the pleasure of your attention?”

“Cut the shit, Ikeda.”

“So you do know my name.” I teased and leaned towards him from across the desk covered in papers.

“I should fire you” Bakugou crosses his arms and narrows his eyes at you. I’m used to these threats, his team wouldn’t allow it.

“Try it” I bite back.

“We have another interview tomorrow. Some hero podcast is interviewing that dammed Deku and I.” Of course they wanted Midoriya and Bakugou in the same room, they were known enemies turned best friends who fought all the time.

“What is the podcast name so I can do research?”

“The Talented Others.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me! That has to be one of the most disrespectful gossip channels they could find.” The Talented Others honestly, hated heroes. They hated the idea that with 98% of the population having quirks nobody should be special but heroes where. They believed that heroes were nothing more than overpaid TV Show actors.

“Believe me when I say I almost blew up the place.” Bakugou picked at his nails like he was impressed with his actions, I rolled my eyes at his behavior.

“Okay, so we need a game plan as to what we’re going to say and do. Do you have a print out of the questions?” I tried to remain professional with Bakugou at all times, but pissing him off was incredibly fun.

“Nope but you can handle all those hard questions.” His caramine eyes meet mine and I feel stuck in my seat for a second, gaping like a fish. This causes the brat to smirk at my actions. “Cat got your tongue?”

“Shut it,” I growl, “I can’t handle everything for you. You have to be a big boy at some point.” It’s my turn to smirk at him.

“Get back to work” He barks, I salute to him with two fingers and walk out the door.

I’m counting the minutes until 5 when I can get out of here. I’m constantly checking my phone because I have a date with Takeuchi Kazuo from accounting. With us being in separate departments there was no problem with us dating and there was no need to have someone sign an NDA as we both signed one when we started here.

Takeuchi is a sweet guy with bright eyes and dark hair that sits against his pale skin. He was my first ally here in the office since Bakugou had a bad habit of turning everyone against me. He wanted me to quit. Takeuchi encouraged me to stay here and keep working since it would be good for my future. When I told him I was taking night classes at the university to become a therapist he was ecstatic to meet someone who held their future in such high regards.

I was so excited to go on a date with him.

Yup! I can’t wait for this date.

“What’re you smiling at, twerp?” A voice whispers next to my ear. I squeak and drop my phone, it goes clattering on my desk. I curse and turn to find Bakugou leaning over me in his hero uniform.

He was back early from patrol.

“Nothing,” I hissed.

“You’re giggling like a schoolgirl.” He deadpans.

“I have a date with a guy in the firm.” You rolled your shoulder back and met his narrowed gaze.

“Hmph.” Is all Bakugou says as he walks away from you and into the elevator. You shrug off the weird encounter and continue with your work.

5 comes and goes and you leave to get ready for the date. The walk to your apartment isn’t a long one so you’re home and ready within an hour. You decide to put on a little more makeup and dress in a warm brown sweater, a black velvet skirt, and leggings with black flats. You do your hair in a cuter style.

Then you’re off!

You get the ramen shop after changing trains a couple of times and walking a significant distance. You’re early by 5 minutes to your agreed time, 7:30. So, you go ahead and find a seat with a good view of the door so you can spot Takeuchi when he comes inside.

He never does. Around 8 I order food and send him a text. I finish by 9 and text him again. Yet, I never hear another word for him. I’m fighting back tears because he was so nice, so thoughtful. He had bought me flowers and coffee just a few days before. He had texted me earlier to make sure we were still on. By 9:30 I was a sobbing mess in the bathroom. That’s when I felt my phone buzz.

Takeuchi-san

Sorry. Rain check

I don’t respond because if I do, I will cuss at him. I want him to still see me as a respectful girl, so I leave him on read. He couldn’t be bothered with responding to me so I wouldn’t respond to him.

I pay for my food and leave the restaurant. I take the trains back home and walk straight pass my apartment. If I’m going to get blown off, I might as well get laid at the bar! There is one just a block from the hero agency. So, I go there. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall but it’s nice enough that I trust the people there.

The bar is cozy, dark, and has an easy going atmosphere. I decide to go inside and fuck the first guy who hits on me. I’m desperate at this point considering Takeuchi stole my heart and broke it, the mother fucker. Honestly, it doesn’ take long for a man to come and offer a drink.

“Hey, want a drink?” He’s cute, like an American movie star.

“From you? Sure.” I purr.

I let him order a girly fruity drink for me and we talk for a while. He’s a great conversationalist and everything is going exactly to my plan. I know if I act just dumb enough he’ll invite me to his place and I can end this dry spell. However, at one point he acts terrified and hurriedly excuses himself to the bathroom and never comes back.

Fuck.

I down my drink and head to the tiny dancefloor and dance my little broken heart out. I throw my hands up in the air and gyrate my hips to the beat of the music. I feel a hand snake around my waist and pull me against their hips. Whoever is dancing with me has the moves because they’re now guiding my movements against them. I tried to turn to see the person who has grabbed me but they quickly turn my head away from them.

“Keep dancing, pretty girl.” An oddly familiar gruff voice commands me. The use of “pretty girl” has warmth pooling between my thighs.

“I want to see who scared off my date”

“Someone better.” There is a cocky sound to his voice. Something eerily familiar.

I decide I’m too drunk to care about who is behind me and enjoy their roaming hands and flowing drinks. Who ever this is really wants me to forget tonight because they’re constantly letting me down these drinks.

At some point I wake up in my bed in my pajamas, with no ache between my legs. My mystery man must be a gentleman because he sure didn’t fuck me. I roll over to look at a beautifully written note.

You deserve better than those loser men, I’ll see you soon, pretty girl.

Creepy, but cute. I look at the clock and decide it’s time to go face my boss with the worst hangover of my life and protect him from those loser podcast whores.

 Anche qua, come per Star, non ci sono grandissime sorprese fra le comunque numerose novità. In un angolino, però, potete scorgere anche un paio di chicche di cui abbiamo visto sbarcare qua in Italia le versioni animate (più una riacquisizione che avrete notato in copertina, che non so se possa stimolare più pianto o sorrisi).

Sul Sul! Which country is on the brink of a civil war? Which monarch has come under scrutiny for their spending? Is it true that a princess cancelled her arranged marriage? We're looking at the 7 countries the current monarchs reside over, and delving ever so slightly into the tea.

Willow Creek

Current Monarch: HRH Queen Catherine Lawson Heir apparent: Crown Prince Benjamin Lawson Religious beliefs: Secular Closest relationship: Henford-On-Bagley Best known for: It's prestigous universities, and having the world's largest economy.

Willow Creek is a large country with a hard working people. This is said to be the biggest reason they have been so successful in maintaining their production and economic value. It is also home to several of the best colleges worldwide, cementing it's place as a leader in innovation across many industries.

Brindleton Bay

Current Monarch: HRH King Jai Panikkar Heir apparent: HRH Crown Princess Aishwarya Panikkar Religious beliefs: Cult of the Cow Plant Closest relationship: Oasis Springs Best known for: It's widespread support of animal rights and it's controversial acceptance of arranged marriages.

Brindleton Bay is for the most part, a rather humble and diplomatic country. That could be due to the fact it is the are the only country where the peaceful Cult of the Cow Plant is the largest religous organisation. King Jai has continued on his families legacy with religous tolerance and a quiet comfortableness, given the stability of it's economy.

Henford-On-Bagley

Current Monarch: HRH Isla O'Halloran Heir apparent: HRH Crown Prince Cian O'Hallaran Religious beliefs: Secular Closest relationship: Willow Creek Best known for: Being the home of the Grand Volpe Hotel - The meeting place of the High Table, and having the best agricultral industry worldwide.

Along with Mt. Komorebi & Willow Creek, Henford-On-Bagley is one of the three oldest countries. It's rich and fertile land gave way to a bustling village. That village grew to the country we know today, run by the very same sims that founded it: The O'Hallorans. It's lesser known (but equally as impressive) feat is the countries Healthcare system. The first of it's kind, it was then adopted by many others. Queen Isla has reigned for many years, but now everyone wants to know where her half brother, Teenager Prince Giovanni will fit into the political sphere...

Mt. Komorebi

Current Monarch: HH Empress Mayumi Ikeda-Tanaka Heir apparent: HRH Crown Prince Jun Tanaka Religious beliefs: Secular, however there is a known fringe group of Worship of the Watchers that reside here. Closest relationship: Windenberg Best known for: Being the home of the first ever Sim-lympics, and being the fashion & art capital of the world.

Is Mt. Komorebi steeped in tradition and older values? Yes. But is Mt. Komorebi also a modern leader in fashion and style, influencing most other countries? Mt. Komorebi is a country that boasts a finger in many financial pies, to the betterment of it's citizens. This was well fostered by the current Empress Mayumi, who came to power after the death of her husband Emperor Hideo. The world was expecting their son, Prince Jun, to come to power when he came of age, but that was years ago now...

Sulani

Current Monarch: HRH King Maleko Aperahama Heir apparent: HRH Crown Princess Ke'ala Aperahama Religious beliefs: Island Elementals Closest relationship: Brindleton Bay Best known for: Being the permier destination for holdaying sims.

Sulani has changed since the Civil War, between the Merfolk & Sims. Taking back their land, they have taken many measures to safeguard their piece of paradise... and their secrets. The Elemental spirits that the locals serve have warned them of the Volano Activity in Mua Pel'am, yet nothing seems to have been done about it... The question is why not?

Windenburg (Inclusive of Forgotten Hollow)

Current Monarch: HRH King Johannes Von Meyer Heir apparent: HRH Crown Prince Christian Von Meyer Religious beliefs: Worship of the Watcher Closest relationship: Mt Komorebi Best known for: The cities breathtaking architecture, and the battle of The Crumbling Isles.

When the Von Meyers took over the Country, It was a time of great advancement for the country. This was in so small part due to it's welcoming of the Occult Sims, and in particular, the Vampires. That peace is under threat as the new King and Queen Consort are devout Worshippers of the Watcher - who are staunchly anti occult. So how does the King handle it, when he realises that his young twin brother & sister are members of the Vampire community?

Oasis Springs

Current Monarch: HRH King Emilio Menéndez Heir apparent: HRH Crown Prince Sebastián Menéndez Religious beliefs: Congregation of Non Believers Closest relationship: Sulani Best known for: It's love of horse racing, and the luxurious lifestyle afforded to many of it's sims. Oasis Springs is a comparitively young country, though it well and truly made it's mark. The desert laid way for a specific kind of sim: a sim that can afford to keep themselves out of the harsh weather. This is no different for King Emilio, who has come under international scrutiny for his spending in midst of an economic downturn for Oasis Springs. Recently, it was confirmed he had purchased one of the countries most expensive vineyards for his son and daughter in law. Can he truly afford this?

An inventor creates a humanoid robot (Jet Jaguar) that is seized by the undersea nation of Seatopia & used as a guide for Megalon and Gigan to destroy the above-ground dwellers as vengeance for the nuclear tests that have devastated their society. In an attempt to stop them, a now independently thinking Jet Jaguar brings Godzilla into the fight.
