Here’s a brief, sort of detailed, sort of half assed, sort of explanation of the history of the death metal band Death by an autistic women who has yet to differentiate if she is in a niche band shirt covert peace alliance or niche band shirt contest with her coworkers
*DISCLAIMER : (I am on tumblr in 2025 so I severely doubt more than 3 people might like this shit, but because I’ve been brutalised by music nerds before I’m just gonna clarify loll)Some info may not be insanely accurate as I found conflicting info here and there, but this is my best attempt to make sense of the bands lineup history and is simply a way for me to enjoy my music/music archival obsession in my free time between classes and work. Peace and love.*
Originating in Orlando Florida, the band Death is known for its contributions to the death metal subgenre. The band is considered to have pioneered the sound of the genre alongside other well known bands from the era such as Obituary, Morbid Angel, and Autopsy.
The band formed in 1983 originally under the alias, Mantas, until the band dissolved resulting in their rebrand as Death in 1984. Prior to their name change the band recorded multiple demos and smart sessions and continued this after its rebrand until they signed a deal following the recording of their demo, Mutilation, in 1986 with combat records leading to the release of their debut studio album, Scream Bloody Gore, on May 25th, 1987. Following this release the band embarked on a short lived tour timid in comparison to the tour following the release of their US touring album, Leprosy, on August 12th 1988, marking their first headliners. Then came their third album, Spiritual Healing on February 16th, 1990. Next their fourth album, Human, on October 22nd, 1991. Then their fifth album, Individual Thought Patterns, on June 22nd, 1993. Their sixth album, Symbolic, on March 21st, 1995. Lastly, They released their seventh and final album, The Sound of Perseverance, on August 31st, 1998.
Since the band's end in 2001 multiple re-releases have been established, but unfortunately the band no longer creates given the nature of its disbanding.
• When it comes to trying to pinpoint who made up the band throughout its reign, you’ll notice that the band seemed to be lacking object permanence regarding its members. So I say this with great emphasis as accumulating this information felt like trying to take a full load of laundry from the dryer to the couch in one run, but hold my hand as we go or else you WILL get lost, and God knows I’m not coordinated or emotionally regulated enough to save you via my ability to form coherent sentences.
Throughout the band's history members came and went ranging from members who only partook for a few months, to members who remained stationary for multiple years, and members who worked with the band off and on while pursuing individual projects as well as holding positions in other bands of the times. The band’s founding members consisted of guitarist, primary songwriter, and eventual lead vocalist, Chuck Schuldiner, Drummer and vocalist until his departure cited as a result of, “personal issues”, with the band in 1985, Kam Lee, and guitarist who departed in 1985 as well due to Schruldiner’s frustration regarding his creative progression, Rick Rozz.
By late 1985 following the departure of Rozz, the band was made up of founding member’s Schuldiner and Lee as well as new guitarist Matt Olivo, and new bassist Scott Carlson who were both members in the collectives secondary band, Genocide, later to be renamed, Repulsion . However, the band would experience a full dismemberment only a few months after their union when both Olivo and Carlson parted shortly after the ejection of Kam Lee. Following this separation Schruldiner partnered with Erik Meade and Eric Brecht, though yet again the band would endure another splicing when Meade and Schrudiner engaged in a verbal altercation. Meade stated many years later in an interview posted by user GLOOM666 on truepunkmetal.blogspot.com, “We were only in the band for about six months and a few shows. Then we had an argument with Chuck and he left. He just stormed out of the rehearsal room and that was that. I think he went back to Florida for a few months and then came back to SF, but I’m not 100% sure.” This marked the departure of Meade and Brecht. Schrudiner moved to Canada and joined the band Slaughter for a few months before moving back to San Francisco and re-entertaining the Band Death in 1986 with new drummer Chris Reiffert, short term guitarist John Hand, and oscillating member guitarist Steve Digiorgio who played with the band Sadus as well. These members would work towards the goal of scheduling live performances, but their plans would eventually fall through before Schruldiner then chose to move back home to Florida. The band continued its pattern of instability with occasional few year members like bassist Terry Butler who played in the band between 1987-1990, up until its final end in 2001 when Schruldiner passed on December 13th attributed to complications regarding illness from a brain tumor. Between 1986-2001 the band consisted of multiple interchanging members such as drummer Richard Christy, guitarist Shannon Hamm, and bassist Scott Clendinen.
Schuldiner is known as the only continuous member of the band throughout its history likely due to his creative nature, or for what I’d say is for lack of a better word, but honestly it's just the truth, his perfectionism. Schuldiner’s history aligns with that of a rock star with a fiery attitude, but when it comes down to it, though he engaged and instigated multiple arguments that would lead to issues such as member loss or instability, he was known for his humility and dedication to his work rather than being summed up exclusively as a harsh survival of the fittest cut throat asshole. Individual perceptions of his persona as well as him personally may vary, but the consistent theme revolves tightly around his cordial behaviors and ascertainment for the limits of his creative abilities. Arguably he may have lacked emotional regulatory skills, but his contributions to the development of metal has been nonetheless major, making him himself, separate from his bands, a pillar to be observed when becoming enthralled within the various metal subcultures the world has to offer.
So that's neat.
God bless. Amen. May the lord be with you or something like that. I’m not sure, I didn’t get to first communion.

I had a vague, kinda nonsensical line come to mind when I was thinking about Eclipse a while ago where he says "If I'm just a mesh of other people, what does that make me? The stitch or the space between?" and upon thinking about it again, in a very Lunar-like way my brain just announced "QUILT." and now I'm actually like sorta obsessed with the metaphor presented here NDJANDJS

man. whenever i see someone discussing it/talking about liking it i feel myself Wanting to like. respect? extreme horror as a genre. more than i do. and i think my problem boils down to like. some of the places these things go.. you need to be a damn good writer, and you kinda need to make it have a Point or a Reason at least somewhat. you gotta be able to suspend your disbelief. that doesn't go any different for any flavor of horror than any other type of nonfiction writing tbh and in my opinion is generally harder to pull off. what happens does, in context, need to at least kinda sorta make a little bit of sense in some way and not be happening Just Because. and because of the rarity and stigma of extreme horror its less likely to qualify well for either of the above and just ends up attracting people who want to write some Really out there shit and get upset when they get justified critique from readers (usually people who bought their book and Enjoy extreme horror!) and always want to couch it like they're being oppressed for Writing which is a super disingenuous way to put it
#crow.txt#like i dont even find the genre unsalvageable or unforgivable#i havent ever come across anything i think i could read myself. just the things ive heard people talk about have been genuinely nauseating#but with some stuff and especially with some authors theres a pattern and a point at which its. very.#ok we get it you genuinely just wrote this to be edgy and complain when people dont agree completely with all your choices#its a really fine line but making it too off the wall/ridiculous/gross is just. so. wild to me. happens frequently.#extreme horror fans dont even seem to like it!#i was looking into summaries of a book called woom bc its the first thing thats hoved into my field of view in a while#and increasingly the more i found out abt im just sitting here like. ok why. what. this is like looney tunes if it was violent and gross#on purpose#the idea of these things happening individually is crazy. together its just kinda dumb and gross#seeing even one person say they felt like. connected to the characters is so wild to me bc it does not appear theres much. like. substance#+ feeling connected but not enough to want to read the sequel to see what happens is pretty telling lmao#you cant have extreme horror with No edgy shit but like. idk. its kinda clear when something has a Point and when something is shock value#hyperspecific genre doesnt make things more appealing to read or. like. easier to work into a plot if you don't have that skill#there almost seems to be an aspect of 'haha i tricked you into reading This gross shit' that is so hard to vibe with.#but mainly one author comes to mind#very difficult genre in general for many reasons but especially worse if you don't even have the backbone and self awareness to like#acknowledge it isn't for most people and like. act accordingly. ie when someone bitching about it online in public Just Shut Up#good advice for anyone that writes but like goddamn. authors here seem extra touchy sometimes. which feels weird bc you know what you wrote#like for reference ive read borrasca and think it was a really really good and grounded story. fucked up! extremely! it is ROUGH#and hard to recommend. for quite a few reasons. but like. i like to think i know what I'm talking abt at least a little#i wouldn't even consider it extreme horror but id argue it absolutely has elements. kinda a lot of em. especially if you count the followup#it takes a little too long to Get There and doesn't like. Sit In It. too heavily. the bad part is done pretty tastefully for what it is imo#and that is truly only because a very deep level of thought went into like. every aspect of it#you can tell when something has been carefully considered and crafted vs building the plane under them as it flew

Idk how popular Tsumugi was during era ! but the more I read, the more I'm not surprised he's not too popular in era !!
Mostly bc - unless it's a Switch story or a main story - he really just appears as almost a work NPC y'know?
I like to read the stories where Switch members may just have short appearances bc sometimes we still get a sprinkle of amusement or characterization - and some stories def give more than others. But in era ! Tsumugi made a LOT of individual appearances outside of Switch and he had a lot of personality and played a relatively large role in those stories. I had a lot of fun reading those bc I always felt like I learned a lot about him. I feel like that's really clear even if you go back to the early posts on this blog. A lot of the first story posts were about Tsumugi's antics.
In era !! most of the stories ive run into, so far at least, he's really just there to say some work words bc he's the boss at New DI. We don't really get much new information about him at all. He's basically an accessory and not a person. One or two times he'll at least do something funny but that's about it.
It's not necessarily a bad thing that they're using that time to focus on the other characters that have more relevance to the story, but it's weird that they include Tsumugi at all without the intention to really utilize him so much of the time. It really does make him seem super bland until he gets a story where he actually matters and then it's like "oh right the boss man is a FREAK".

I just think business woman Taylor would take her time to get engaged to a guy she's only known a year and a half. Not the type to marry a guy she just met. If she was that type of person she would have married Joe Alwyn immediately when she was in that crisis and she didn't and maybe she's changed but I just think businesswoman and looking after her money Taylor is not that type of woman. I just think Taylor is more thoughtful with her money and her heart then her fans give her credit for. And your points about feminism's cricism of marriage, and conversatives and NFL culture giving her pause.
She's a hopeless romantic and led by her heart but she has a big brain and is very interested in looking after her money and having career and artistic freedom. In my readings of Taylor's choices thus far in her life. I think it's more of a debate her in her mind and heart about marriage (and children) and whether it's the right choice for her then some fans, especially long term fans who want to see her married as 'one thing she's missing' cultural ideal they cannot give up, even if their not interested in marriage for themselves.
There is a weird energy out there when Swifties who aren't openly dating and not interested in it and have given up on love or simply don't have the time for it, are very interested in seeing Taylor marry for reasons. Unclear even to themselves. It's very weird for me to watch.
I think we're generally of the same mind with a lot of this stuff yeah. If nothing else taylor is a chronic overthinker and overanalyzer which is reason enough for her to feel hesitant to move to the next major step in a relationship, especially since shes spent the majority of this one jetsetting around the world and rehearsing 24/7 in the off time for her massive career defining magnum opus world tour. By all accounts theyve barely had time to be together when they weren't both inundated with intense work scheduling, I imagine that though the RS seems like its been going for a good while she'll want to take more time for them to actually like, live a life as a couple and maybe get to spend less of their time together in the spotlight. I will say that though taylor can often be predictable, I've been plenty wrong abt her in the past (its actually kinda funny, i went thru my personal tag the other day looking for a post and kept coming across my extremely confidently incorrect taylor swift takes, its very humbling i do recommend it if you have your own) and i dont exist in her brain or her social circle, I just spend a lot of time thinking abt her and what her work and her public actions cld be communicating intentionally or unintentionally and also I have a crush on her <3. I do think I try to take a fair look at her work overall
I cant really speak on yr second point since I spend a majority of my time as a swiftie with other lesbians who dislike her boyfriend/s at various degrees of severity (shout out to the mutuals who dont actively dislike travis though yr powerful and I respect u). I could probably speak more on why thats a phenom if I saw some of the posting u were talking abt, since most of the postings i see r from ppl who have partners or are married or as i said have a general distaste for heterosexuality. If I could guess I'd say it's the sort of projection that comes part and parcel with all parasocial connections, the desire to experience the sort of thing you may struggle to have secondhand or to experience an idealized version of something you have that may be harder to romanticize bc of the realities of life. It makes sense for someone whose been taught to seek out a fairytale ending (or whose just a bit of a romantic at heart) but struggles with the realities of dating or marriage to be fixated on taylor, who has lots of the same struggles getting that fairy tale ending whenever it seems like its hypothetically in sight.
I can't speak against this like i'm not a 10+ year phannie whose spent plenty of time watching them power couple their way through life while rooting for them the entire way bc its nice to know true love exists and all that. With taylor specifically, as there always is, theres so many projected cultural ideals and concepts that she takes on as a figure and the reactions to what she does or doesnt do often reflect back on us as much as they do on her. Her place as a cipher is part of what makes her such a source of cultural fixation and is also what makes her so interesting on like a sociological level to discuss.

Precanon fic concept that Keiko and Yusuke have a pattern of ending up in fires or electrical accidents, but never together, they're either unaware that the other is in danger or scared and the other never speaks of the incident or they arrive too late to intervene or help the other just as they escape through a window or have put out the fire
The time when Yusuke's house is set on fire and Keiko runs in to save him, and Yusuke is able to make a way for her, being the first time they could actually save each other.... Yes

FIRST-EVER FOOTAGE OF INDONESIAN COELACANTH IN NORTH MALUKU REVEALS NEW INSIGHTS INTO RARE SPECIES
The coelacanth, often dubbed a "living fossil," is one of the most iconic and mysterious marine vertebrates. Long thought extinct until its rediscovery in 1938, only two species are known today—Latimeria chalumnae in the western Indian Ocean, and L. menadoensis in Indonesia. The latter, the Sulawesi coelacanth, lives in deep, difficult-to-access reef habitats and has rarely been observed alive. For the first time, divers using advanced technical diving equipment have filmed a live Indonesian coelacanth in situ, at a depth of over 150 metres in North Maluku, a region where the species had not previously been recorded.

- Localities from whence the Sulawesi Coelacanth, Latimeria menadoensis, has been reported in black stars. White star shows the North Maluku Province, where the first in situ sighting by technical divers was made.
This sighting is more than just a milestone in exploration—it provides critical data on the ecology and distribution of an animal that is evolutionarily unique and highly vulnerable. With few individuals ever seen in the wild, each observation adds valuable insight into how these ancient fish live and where they might still be found. It also underscores the urgency of protecting deep reef habitats that are increasingly at risk from human activities. Understanding and safeguarding the ecosystems that support the coelacanth is essential if we hope to ensure its survival into the future.

Actually, I know damn well Darcy never sat down and thought about marrying Lizzie. If he had, it would have been a week before he was rounding up Bingley, sitting him down, and looking him in the eye like he was about to propose high treason and going, "Jane. You still down bad for her?"
Coin toss whether Bingley would actually get to answer before Darcy turned around and flipped over a whiteboard like
Tumblr media
and launched right into the most detailed migration pattern known to Regency England to keep the extraneous Bennets as contained as humanly possible by rotating them between various Bingley/Darcy estates. Like, we're talking about trading them off for minor holidays a decade out kind of detailed.
"If you and Jane take them for Lady Day ten years hence, Elizabeth and I will take them for Michaelmas. We'll all be together for Christmas and Midsummer, so we'll divide the responsibility individually on those days."
This would be followed by thirteen different spreadsheets projecting joint expenditures so Bingley knows what sort of financial commitment he'll be shouldering and how to minimize it, what proportion Darcy will take care of, what the estate plans are in case Darcy predeceases anybody, when they should probably roll out various stages to keep it from affecting their respective sisters' ability to maximize their own husband-hunting--whole nine yards.
Darcy does not know that he'll probably be murdered when the Bingley sisters find out why he asked for their social calendars. He'd be marginally fine with that at this point, because the fucking Napoleonic War campaigns were not as meticulously planned as his roadmap to getting the other three Bennets satisfactorily married, and Darcy feels about as able as if he'd spent the last year on Elba.
It takes Bingley a few minutes to realize why this is happening, then he's like
Tumblr media
"You proposed to Elizabeth?! Congratulations!"
Darcy... knew there was something he was forgetting.
Tumblr media
That man would have kicked the Collins's door open with four binders tucked under each arm, dumped them in a pile in front of Elizabeth, and loudly announced that if they get married tomorrow he can have her entire family except for Jane extraordinary renditioned to the Scottish moors by Sunday and then been like
Tumblr media
"Why are you yelling at me?! I promise you, it will work! You'll never see anyone in your family except for Jane again, I swear it!" when she starts yelling at him.
