Okay we established you love Tokyo Ghoul, just as I do. (My first anime btw) and we need to appreciate Juuzou, that bitch is totally Soap coded. All crazy and cool. AND THAT ONE PANEL WHERE HE STOLE THE MOTORCYCLE (ch 60) dude is cool asf. But thinking of the torture (hehe) I know she wished for them to kill the reader, and so was Kaneki, he just went mad, like crazy mad. And he “sees” Rize, whip I think can be in this case as when R is in the medical, they just see the cousin that drowned them. It is just like With Rize, Kaneki saw Rize as a lover but she caused him pain and betrayed him. Same with R, the cousins were family, but they betrayed them. So I see resemblance there. Revisiting memories is already pretty Much done. Forget that Kaneki accepted the Kagune and allowed him to take over the power. Imagine R just accepting that they were weak, just as Rize told Kaneki. (Ch 63) AND BOY IF SHE JUST LEARNS TO TOLERATE PAIN (just like Kaneki) ((that bitch allowed Jason to break and twist his leg *-*)) so yeah, the potential is infinite. I'm just in such fucking jaw-dropped awe over these, and especially this one. London's Dom & Roland took a particular strain of drum n bass that I can't say that I even like very much and he still managed to royally fuck my shit up. Good god, Dom.

You remember those "this is your brain and this is your brain on drugs" ads where your brain on drugs represented the contents of an uncooked egg on a skillet or some shit? Well, this mix is your brain on drugs, and your brain is that uncooked egg, but your egg-brain is in that stage just before it's thrown on that skillet; see, Killabites represents that beating stage. It's just two CDs of constant and steadily rapid, mind-battering whisk action 😍.

And to show you just how fucking good of an artist Dom & Roland is, dude laid out a slate of 44 tracks here, 99% of which totally bang, but each of the tracks that he himself was directly involved in, either by his own producing or through remixing, are the ones that bang the hardest. i’m sure a lot of yall tesblr folks won’t get/care about this but i either accidentally or subconsciously based a lot of my interpretation of trinimalacath on the various kaneki kens in tokyo ghoul (a dormant fandom of mine). if you have any interest in maybe reading tokyo ghoul and/or tokyo ghoul:re, or if you don’t give a shit about tokyo ghoul at all, i recommend not reading beyond the read more

like, it’s like the difference between “eyepatch” kuroneki and “centipede” shironeki, or between haise and “reaper”/“king” kaneki. they both think they’re stronger, maybe even that they’re protecting their old self, that they’re “awake” to the true nature of the world and infinitely wiser (and edgier) than their old self. but the truth is they just refuse to really confront every facet of reality bc they can’t reconcile them, so they just get edgier and focus on whatever their idea of “strength” is. they can’t understand the world so they rely on how others tell them the world is.

for kaneki, that’s via rize, and then later eto. for malacath, that’s boethiah. (you could also compare both rize and eto to boethiah, too, i think.) but all of those influences have just as incomplete worldviews as the person they influence. it makes them look at the world from an opposite angle, but they get stuck in that angle, and lost in it, as unable as ever to reconcile the good and evil in the world.

Today’zz the day.  I woke up thizz morning with a pit in my stomach.  I’m leaving.  I’m going Outzide. I’ve been looking forward to thizz day for azz long azz I can pozzibly remember, but now that it’zz here, I don’t feel ready.  I can almozt see it from here, Outzide which hazz alwayzz hung there, above uzz, azz a bright, white hole through which I watch the otherzz dizapeare and reappear to no end.  A shining portal that offerzz infinite pozibilitiezz to thoze brave enough to take it.  I thought I wazz brave enough, but now, staring into the Outzide, I am paralyzed.

My whole life, all I’ve known are the confinezz of Hive.  The sticky, deliciouzz, honey which glowzz like amber and taztezz like liquid gold.  All I have ever known izz sweet. The neverending huzztle of our home which never sleepzz.  The loudnezz, the never ceazing soundzz of the life that zurroundzz me. The safe, warm, familiar cornerzz and tunnelzz which I can navigate with my eyezz clozed.  When I crozz the threshold and enter a world entirely new, everything I have ever known will be ztripped away. How will I know where I am Outzide? Outzide in the great huge world with no cornerzz or tunnelzz?  Will Outzide be deafeningly quiet?   Will I become completely overwhelmed by everything that izz not the zame?

What if Outzide izz amazing? What if it offerz all I could ever want? Will Outzide change me?  Will I loze myzelf in utopia and never want to return to Hive?  Will I want to explore forever the expanzezz of the world, abandoning Hive and Queen and Family?  Thizz pozzibility izz even more terrifying.  

Who will I bee Outzide? My whole life I have known exactly my role within Hive.  I am daughter, sizter, worker, and attender. Outzide I will be none of thoze thingz.  And so what will I bee?

I ztand facing Outzide, ztaring into the threshold of infinity, paralyzed by the unknown.  Maybe I will never feel ready? But Outzide izz calling me.  I can feel it pulling me towardzz the new world, waiting for me to dizcover.  I stretch my wingz and begin ascending.  Rizing higher and higher, towards the beacon of promize above our headz, the warmth of Outzide on my face growing stronger.  I feel something completely alien ruztle through my wingz and realize it’zz a breeze, carrying on it smellzz of zomething that izn’t sweet, and soundzz that are foreign to my earzz.  

Here izz the moment, I am about to crozz the point where I can never go back to knowing only Hive.  I am brave enough. I propel myzelf over the edge, blinded by the sky and light emanating from all around me.  My senzes overwhelmed from all directionzz, but I am not scared.  Everything izz different but I am still me.  Ready to explore what Outzide hazz for me.

How do you think, is there any chance that Furuta, Rize and Eto are alive?

I don’t, sadly. I think the last chapter pretty clearly indicated they are dead, I’m sorry. :( The good news is in this world of potentially infinite universes, an AU with them alive might not be wrong XD

I hope you and the other mods don’t mind me answering this…I saw this ask and I couldn’t help myself…it ended up being a mini fic and it sucks, but the idea of Touka guiding Kaneki kind of consumed me. And I’m not really into meta theories, so this is just my take on things…Ishida would never make this so easy LOL.

“Where do you think you’re going, you murderer?”

“Rize!” 

No. NO. Not again.

Kaneki stared at Rize for just a moment before he shook his head at her and swam away from her, away from this…place. But the water…the waves…and why could he taste blood?

He kept kicking, kept trying to get away, but he looked over his shoulder to see if Rize was still there and she wasn’t. She was gone.

He stopped paddling and tried to catch his breath.

She’s gone.

Kaneki let out a sigh of relief and turned back to face his exit, but Rize was right there, just inches away from his face. He gasped.

“You can’t escape from me, Kaneki.” Rize gave him a chilling smirk.

Kaneki screamed and started to frantically swim away from her, back towards the shrine and somehow it was much easier to get back to it. Why?

He could feel himself swallow water as he swam, desperate to get away from Rize. Once he reached the shrine he tried to pull himself out of the water, but he was struggling. He closed his eyes. He was out of breath. He felt no strength. He felt like he was fading.

“You can do it, Kaneki.”

Kaneki’s eyes snapped open.

That voice…

Touka!

Kaneki looked up to find Touka kneeling down to him, reaching out to place her hand on his cheek with a soft smile on her face. He could feel her warmth. He could feel her in his heart.

“Touka.” Tears filled his eyes and smiled up at her.

Kaneki shut his eyes tightly as he felt a surge of strength hit him and he tried pulling himself out of the water again.

“You can do it, Kaneki.” But it wasn’t Touka’s voice anymore…it was Rize’s. The hand on his cheek had turned cold.

Kaneki could feel his body tremble as he dreaded what he would find when he looked up. Rize had taken the place of where Touka was. His wife was gone.

NOOOOOO!

Kaneki grip slipped and he fell into the water completely again. 

“How disappointing.” Rize let out with a sigh as she stood up and crossed her arms. “Here I am trying to save you and you would rather drown.”

Kaneki shook his head at her. “You’re not really here! You’re not real!”

A wicked grin crossed Rize’s face. “Oh really? If this isn’t real, then why are you drowning?”

Kaneki’s brows furrowed and suddenly he was going under. There was a pull under him, dragging him down. He took a deep breath as he was completely submerged.

When he looked down to see what it was that was weighing him down he found dead, rotting bodies reaching for him, grabbing at his feet and pulling him deeper into the water.

He was kicking and screaming, struggling to get free, trying to reach the surface again. But the bodies…the people…they wouldn’t let him go. They wanted him to join them. Because it was his fault they were dead, wasn’t it?

He killed them. He needed to accept that. He had to accept the fact that something so wrong had happened and it was because of him. 

And he did.

Suddenly the bodies disappeared and there was nothing weighing him down anymore.

Kaneki kicked his feet, reaching for the surface. In seconds he emerged from the water.

He gasped for air and tried to get his eyes to focus his blurry eyes back on the shrine that was a few feet away.

Rize was still there, still standing and with a glint of amusement in her eyes.

“I’m a little proud, Kaneki.” She let out and then kneeled back down, holding out a hand. “Now will you let me save you?”

Kaneki narrowed his eyes at her as he swam to the shrine. And even though Rize was holding out her hand to him, he rejected her.

“I don’t need your help.” Kaneki said as he began to pull himself out of the water with a little bit of a struggle, but it was on his own.

Once he reached the surface of the shrine he fell onto his back, trying to catch his breath yet again. Everything was a struggle.

“You’re not done, you know?” Rize said as she joined him, laying down next to him and propping herself up on her elbow.

“You’ve accepted just part of the truth, Kaneki.”

“I’m not going to play this mind game.” Kaneki rubbed his eyes, trying to get himself to get rid of Rize. He didn’t need her in his head…

Touka.

“She’s the reason why you’re here.” Rize let a finger the outline of his jaw, but Kaneki was quick to pull away.

“No, she’s not.” Kaneki’s tone was defensive. “I’m here because of…me.” He stared up at the cloudless dull blue sky, recalling all the times he had failed. Failed because he always relied on himself to fix things. But this time…

“You’re a murderer. You’re a destroyer. You’re a monster, Kaneki.” Rize started to giggle.

Kaneki sat up as Rize’s words sunk in. They were words he would have fought against, words that he would say she was lying about. But she was right. He was all of those things. He had longed feared killing, feared becoming a monster. But he was pushed to this point. He had no other choice.

“I know there are consequences I will need to face and I’ve accepted that. I’m ready for it. I did what had to. I chose to be decisive. Because I wanted to live.” He faced Rize with calmness. “I want to live.”

He then stood up and looked out at the endless ocean, the infinite span of his mind.

“I AM GOING TO LIVE!!!”

He shouted those words out into the air. He wanted it to be heard. He wanted himself to hear those words out loud, because it was going to happen. He was going to live for Touka. For their child. For himself.

“Kaneki.” Her voice came back.

Kaneki turned around sharply, finding Touka standing where Rize was. He felt his mouth gape open at the sight of her again. She was standing there with such a glow to her that that warm feeling he had felt before coursed through him once again.

Touka walked up to him, cupping his face in her hands. Oh how he could have stared at her from here to infinity.

“Come back to me, Kaneki.” Touka stroked his cheeks with the pads of her her thumbs.

He looked at her hesitantly. “But the water…”

“What water?” Touka asked, looking past Kaneki’s shoulders. Kaneki turned his head, looking behind him and found dry land where the water used to be. It wasn’t in his way anymore.

But he also saw a bright light in the distance.

Kaneki turned back, placing his hands over hers and leaned forward to rest his forehead against hers.

“Go. I’m waiting.” Touka smiled at him.

He nodded at her and even though she was just in his mind, he didn’t want to let her go. But she began to fade, flowing into wind.

Get back to her!

Kaneki stood up straight and turned to face the way of the light. He began to walk away from the shrine with determination set clear inside him. And then he began to run.

He ran and ran and ran. But even as he felt his heart pound, his lungs and legs weren’t tiring.

He was getting closer.

“Kaneki, I’m here! I’m here!” Touka’s voice was loud and clear all around him, but it came from the bright light ahead of him. Kaneki picked up the speed, pushing his legs to run as fast as they could.

“Keep talking, Touka! I’m coming!” Kaneki shouted. “I’m coming back to you!”

Q: Did you guys play any sport at school? You guys would be good at basketball because you are so tall.

A: The height yes, the ball wrangling skills, no (reference to Phil catching all the balls earlier in the show). Phil was the fourth best person in his grade at long jump because of how long his legs are. Phil liked the athletic stuff that did not involve competition. Dan said he just faked illness and sat in the corner listening to MCR. He added that it got to the point that the teachers just accepted all the emo kids were not going to participate because the sweat would mess up their hair. “I just want to join the Black Parade Mr. Rodger stop judging me” - Dan

Q: Tell us about you last dreams in spicy detail.

A: Dan describes a reoccurring dream that he has a few times every year. The dream is that a bee flies into his ear, and last only about 6 seconds each time. Dan criticizes his brain for channeling all that energy into giving him a 6 second dumb dream, “it’s like a vine”. Phil says his last dream was because Dan was telling him conspiracy theories before bed. He was lost in the artic and he went to a mountain where he found an empty hole that went to the center of the Earth and he fell down it.

Q: I can’t stop thinking about all the cringe things I did 5 years ago, how do you learn to live with regrets?

A: All cringe things you did in the past is character development for who you have become today. Dan says “just look at me, I’ve made so many mistakes. But if I didn’t I would’t be sat here right now, so I love every cringe memory I have....... like half the time.” Phil jokes that he thinks wholesome howell is leaking.

The did the ‘OH-IO’ chant where Dan and Phil shouted ‘OH’ and the audience shouted back ‘IO’. They were told about this during a m&g and then did it at the show!

Phil said the chant made him feel powerful and Dan said it made him wish he were passionate about where he came from.

During the ‘psychic connections’ when Dan said ‘ribeye’ and Phil said ‘mis-steak’ Dan ran up to Phil and Phil shouted ‘your mom’s a mistake’ and then he said ‘sorry I got scared because you were advancing me’ and then Dan said ‘your mom is advancing on me’

During Dan’s piano solo, he dabbed.

During the ‘good vs evil’ part, Dan got very existential about ‘burning alive’ regarding his old brand and went on a full rant. He then walked behind the stage where we could still see his silhouette behind the screen, and he gave us all the finger.

When the balls were thrown in the audience someone threw the ball back to the stage before time was done to catch them and Phil made fun of us.

Phil wore an ‘ohio state’ basketball jersey during the diss track! 

A moth flew on stage and they stopped everything to comment on it. Dan also ducked because it flew near him.
