Infinite monkeys theorem
Tumblr media
Giving the leaks, that I'm not going to talk about much, the only thing is that Alastor is still injured, knowing that it's very possible that we already had written the complete season 2 of Hazbin somewhere in Ao3
Let me explain.
"The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type any given text, including the complete works of William Shakespeare. In fact, the monkey would almost surely type every possible finite text an infinite number of times"
How many Fanfictions are there about Alastor being injured? Many. Tons.
So knowing that, assuming that we are the monkeys, we had written it already guys.

today i learned itch io comments have a character limit
it’s 20,480 characters. if you’re wondering why i had a message that long… i was calculating the chance of a perfect run in a game called infinite monkeys, which is a sort of simulator of the infinite monkeys theorem. in this game, you start with 1 monkey. the goal is to have the monkeys type out the entirety of king lear act 1, scene 1. the monkeys have a 1/34 chance of typing the correct character (every letter is treated as a capital letter), and the game ends once the monkeys have typed out all 14326 characters (things like long spaces and paragraph breaks are counted as single spaces). so i made a quick 5 line program to calculate the mathematical chance of the monkeys typing the entire thing perfectly. it’s approximately 1 in 9.27x10^21939. and i tried putting the whole number in the comments (well technically on a reply to a previous comment i made 2+ years ago attempting to calculate it, but in that comment i did a terrible job so i wanted to correct myself). so then i hit the post button and it gave me a popup thing telling me i exceeded the character limit of 20,480. so that’s the story of how i found the itch io character limit.

Mathematicians Stephen Woodcock and Jay Falletta from the University of Technology Sydney said it would actually take way longer than the entire lifespan of our universe for a single typing monkey to randomly produce the complete works of Shakespeare.

If you put some autistics in a room with a typewriter for an infinite amount of time they could theoretically keysmash the entirety of William Shakespeare's library.
