The thing about the "fridged" trope is that obviously you can't have a female love interest dying as a defining moment for a male character because that's not feminist, but you also can't have a male love interest dying as a defining moment for a female character because then she's just going to have an arc revolving around her relationship with a man and that's also not feminist, and you also can't kill off a love interest from a gay relationship or a relationship involving a nonbinary person because that's burying your queers, which is at least as bad as misogyny if not even worse, and now suddenly you can't kill off romantic partners at all in stories because no matter the demographics, it's going to be problematic somehow, which is... a pretty ridiculous limitation to impose on storytelling.
And, like, it would be satisfying to have a solution other than "it depends on context if not straight-up vibes, and it's usually very reasonable for audience members to have a range of opinions on the execution of one specific instance," but. Yeah, you do kind of have to just vibe check it in a deeply subjective manner sometimes.

R.I.P. Cartoon Network
As you all know Cartoon Network Studios shut down, and they're removing their own shows from their own streaming service and digital purchase.
Including other successful animation studios, shows that are or was rejecting good shows after one or two seasons, or before they even aired the pilot. This also includes a lot animation workers & creators unemployed or disappointed they won't finish their series. During COVID19 their shows carried the industry and made a lot of people happy or excited. (And being able to watch something else besides TTG.)
Unfortunately the company decides to pay them back by canceling their shows after the first or second season, or before the pilot of their show even aired. (Reblog & comment for shows that should have a continuation, like Samurai Jack did ^^.)
They're doing this because of greed and believing it'll make their finances look better by minimizing and cutting their employees. The CEOs and executives are removing everything just for money.
(In my opinion these are my top that I think should have another season or continue the series in Adult Swim.)
(I mostly want them to bring back Infinity Train & make these 2 a mini series.)
Please reblog, ❤, and comment that they should stop rejecting exciting and interesting shows, and which animated series should have more seasons, a movie, a mini series, or a graphic novel & comic series.

Is it weird that I don't really want Timmy to show up in anw. I like that he sorta haunts the narrative.
Tbh my dear Anon, I kinda feel the same
Listen, it does break my heart a little bit that he’s gone because his relationship with Cosmo and Wanda (and Peri) was literally thee heart of the original show. They were a family, they were funny together, they loved each other (flanderization aside, admittedly), but ANW is Hazel’s story, and I want it to remain Hazel’s story
I love the idea of Timmy haunting the narrative (more than he does) — he’s clearly the reason that going to Fairy World is now reserved for special occasions, him moving on from his fairies is what pushed Cosmo and Wanda into retirement, you could argue that losing him is part of why Cosmo and Wanda can be so overbearing with their other son, etc. We look at characters like Dale and Peri know they literally wouldn’t be there without Timmy. He’s still a presence in the lives of people who knew him — it took him a minute, but Crocker still remembers him; it’s usually indirectly, but Cosmo still talks about him
We can still feel Timmy there, even if the show doesn’t need him there, and that’s almost better than the show dragging back this major, important character for no reason
(Don’t get me wrong though, if we get a season two and Timmy showed up, I’d be running in the streets crying tears of joy within seconds of him popping up on screen)

im not the biggest gaz fan out there (nothing against him, i’m just on a faralex and körangi kick rn) but what the actual fuck is this dawg 😭
WHO IS THATTT
it doesnt even have his body type??? gaz is a lot leaner and this mfer is built like a TANK
covering almost all of his face and changing his body type, face shape, and even his skin tone was… definitely a choice !

I’ve been super Art blocked lately and I also want to practice drawing expressions. Suggest a character from Sasaki and Miyano, Sk8 the Infinity, or Buddy Daddies and I’ll try to draw them!
