I haven't added any new words to my manuscript the last two days, but that's okay, because I had this distinct sense while writing the most recent several scenes that something was missing. I realized the other night that what I was lacking was tension, specifically tension from internal conflict. Isolde has not been an active enough character lately. I mean, she's been involved in the plot, but she's just kind of going through the motions. She hasn't had to make any important choices in a while.

To that end, I've spent the past two days going through my notes and rereading my manuscript to get ideas on what I could enhance (without adding or rewriting too much). The good news is, I have ideas!

I just hope they are enough.

Bumping up the smut scene bc realistically there’s no way Jace would be away from Porter for 6 months and not wanna jump his bones within a day or two of being reunited.

But jokes on him bc Porter has been so terrified to lose him again reformed that he’s like overly careful to the point of being attentive about asking Jace if he’s okay with doing anything again before they’ve even discussed the killing and rage star mind control of it all. The Bad Tension™️

I saw a post on autistic meltdowns and it didn’t address something, so I wanted to ask a question to the autistic community. Do you get The Bad Tension™️ when you have a meltdown?

Bc I get it when I feel both overstimulated and understimulated, but when I feel understimulated, stimming helps. When I’m overstimulated, I end up having a full-on meltdown.

The Bad Tension™️ sits under my skin and the best way I can describe it is like when you have a buildup of lactic acid, except it feels nothing like that. If I don’t stim, it makes me feel so uncomfortable, and so I pace or flap or stretch my arms out to get rid of it. When I have a meltdown, I end up aggressively stimming or hitting myself in an attempt to get rid of it and I’m not entirely in control anymore.

I have an autistic friend who says that she also experiences this so I was wondering if it was a universal experience or not? Is there an actual name for this sensation?

Israel so far shows no sign of halting Rafah operation after ICJ order

Israel has still shown no signs of cancelling the Rafah operation despite yesterday’s court ruling. Egypt agreed to send humanitarian aid through the main crossing point, but security concerns are in doubt, according to AP News.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Friday ordered Israel to halt its offensive in Rafah province. It was a landmark emergency ruling in a case brought by South Africa accusing Israel of genocide in its attack on the Gaza Strip. The ruling exacerbated his differences with the United States.

But the World Court does not have the means to enforce its orders, and Israeli War Cabinet Minister Benny Gantz said Israel would continue its war against the Hamas militant group to retrieve its hostages and ensure its security.

Hamas said it welcomed the World Court ruling but said it was not enough “since the occupation aggression across the Gaza Strip and especially in northern Gaza is just as brutal and dangerous.”
