thinking abt luffy, and how he grew up so poor that if he wanted to have a decent meal he had to go into the forest and fight big, dangerous animals. but at least he was strong enough to be able to fight, while there were people that lived close to him that had to live amongst the trash, hoping to find scraps they could sell so they could eat once during the day.

thinking abt how luffy values food so much, how he always eats as much as he physically can. how he values the people that feed him, that eat with him. whether its a luxurious meal or just an apple they share.

thinking abt how pretty much everytime he saved/liberated a place/island/nation was bc someone from the place had fed him.

how when he actived gear 5 he was fighting to save a nation that its main problem was starvation. and not only that but the food there had also been weaponized to mock them and make them suffer more. and it was fighting for them that he fully reached the form of nika, the form that will allow him to bring down the current government and its system which creates these areas where people starve

also! how in zoros introduction we see him eat something that was on the dirt, partly bc he hadnt eaten in a long time and partly bc someone made it and risked themselves to bring it to him. and how sanji is always happy to cook for anyone whos hungry and absolutely hates food waste. and how these two are luffys wings

i can't imagine bill's reaction would've been a good one. i'm getting chills just trying to picture it, honestly.

in fact, just the image of dipper dying in general, and seeing the aftermath of that from bill's pov, has my whole body breaking out into goosebumps.

Wouldn’t it just be extremely funny if after the wrap party for The 15-Year Lie, Miki-san just encounters Kana-chan “drinking” (juice) with the intention of killing her at first.

And then Miki-san offers her liquor, and she says, “sorry I may be an adult but I’m still not legal to drink. This is actually just juice.”

And then he tries to seduce her, and she goes, “You look exactly like the boy I like but you’re not him, and I can’t.”

And then she starts to mock-drunkenly uglycry about being abused as a child actress, having to exit the scene when pedophiles started counting down her birthday to 18 and she couldn’t handle images of her body being peddled on social media like that, and how because of her sense of responsibility towards her career, her team, and her fans, she couldn’t realistically be with the only boy she’s ever truly loved. And she keeps talking about how she doesn’t feel she deserves the love of her fans because she’s not as innocent as they think she is and she just wants to do her best in her work.

And then Miki-san just starts crying, like he’s never seen that kind of honesty before, and nobody’s ever understood the way he was also abused as a child actor, or the way his body was used by adults in the industry, or the way his honest and simple love was never reciprocated by the woman he had feelings for and sired children with.

And then Kindaichi just comes into the scene drunk and barking and pulling him by the collar and calling for the guards, and Kana’s like, “Wait, what’s going on!” And Miki-san just goes like, “No, just let it happen, I think I deserve it.”

And then Aqua just rushes in and hugs Kana and is sobbing thinking she could have died. And Kana-chan just going like wtf are you people talking about WE WERE JUST TRAUMABONDING.

LIKE WHAT IF. WHAT IF THE GUY JUST NEEDED ARKHAM ASYLUM.

the thing about mulder as a traditional hero who Only Cares About The Quest (mulder as ahab) is that the work is important to him because the world is important to him, but he doesn't have a grandstanding ideal that it should be the most important thing to anyone else. he thinks that scully will move on and be head of the bureau someday, because he doesn't imagine that The Work will become important to her. he doesn't feel that she should have to take it on.

the work is important to him because his baby sister is important to him, even though she was not important to anyone else. the work is important to him because people like her, people who aren't important to institutions, are important to him. and he doesn't want to do it alone but he will, because he understands the cost of wanting to believe; he doesn't expect anyone else to dedicate themselves or to think of him as anything other than crazy.

finding the Truth is what he builds his entire life around, but when he's offered every answer that he has ever sought, he gives it all up. for no greater reason than that scully would be able to see her sister, one last time. ultimately, it's not about virtuous conquer so much as hallowed connection, earnest hope. it's not about saving the world, a place in history, so much as it is about repentance, about rewriting it.
