It comes down to power, thinking attraction to men means submission to them, and attraction to women is about dominating them. This is why a basic level feminist education is so important. It can really help free you from being confined into concepts like this. Sometimes “gay is okay” “kink is so crazy and funny!” isn’t enough to leave that heteronormative conservative mindset. can we talk about how useless lilith is to the plot? she's introduced as this really mysterious antagonist with a complicated relationship with one of our heroes. but then, she's shown to be incompetent, impatient and immature in a bunch of episodes where she tries to capture eda. she's portrayed almost as pathetic as kikimora sometimes.

but then she captures luz and we find out the truth about her. how she cursed her sister in order to get into the emperor's coven and how she's trying to fix her mistake by doing the wrong thing. okay, now her character is getting more interesting. maybe we can see how hard she has to work to right her wrongs and get forgiven and— nope. we're just gonna have her share eda's curse and now everyone loves her. she's forgiven instantaneously.

and after that? she's mostly just… there. either as a comic relief or as emotional support for the other characters. “she went back in time and punched belos!” anyone could have done that. there were multiple other characters in the show who knew a lot about the boiling isles and could have helped luz with time traveling. there were multiple other characters in the show who wouldn't have hesitated to deck philip in the face. lilith could have easily been replaced by any other character in the show.

besides, the punch didn't do much other than give belos a bump on his nose bridge and more of a reason to hate witches. it wasn't his driving force, he would have hated witches even if lilith hadn't punched him. he was already knee-deep in villainy at that point.

i just feel like lilith's character had a lot more potential. i feel like toh has a trend of turning all its redeemed characters into the same old "awkward loveable nerd" archetype. and it strips them of their entire personality. oh, amity was this stuck-up bully who was suffering from her mother's abuse? she got a haircut and she's just luz's cute awkward girlfriend now. personality? we don't know her. hunter was a trained soldier who spent years under the influence of his abusive uncle and recently found out that he was a clone made solely to replace his uncle's long-dead brother, and now has to deal with that life-shattering realization? nah, he's just willow's pathetic wet cat male wife now.

i just— i don't know, man. all these characters had potential. especially hunter. he was the most popular character in the show for a reason and it's not only because some viewers found him hot. it's because people could relate to him and also because his snarky and petty personality was a fun addition to the show. by the end of the series, none of these characters are themselves.

i love romantic subplots in shows but if a character has to change entirely in order to fit in a romantic narrative, maybe you're not doing it right. maybe those characters just don't belong together.

Something that a lot of people love about Umineko (and I do too!) is how much Umineko centers its female characters: Umineko focuses a lot on the rich inner lives and emotions of these women, all of whom have been negatively impacted by ideals of submissive feminism and the needs of the patriarchy.

In general, in Umineko, there's this phenomenon that I don't often see elsewhere, where male characters' emotions and feelings are treated as less important, less interesting, etc. than female characters' are. This is interesting to me, and I think it makes sense - in many spaces and works, female characters are treated as caricatures - they are tragic dead mothers, loving wives, sexy girlbosses who secretly have a soft spot for the protagonist, etc. It's only par for the course that in a work where female characters are so celebrated and explored, it is male characters who suffer the fate of being reduced to more base qualities and have their feelings and emotions brushed off or waved over.

Umineko takes the concept of the absent dead wife, mother, lover and turns them into these complex, unknown ghosts who haunt the story: Kinzo's wife, Bice, Kuwatrice, Asumu. These are all female characters central to various plot points and aspects of the story, including thematic ones, but these women are very rarely, if at all, given space to truly express their inner thoughts. This is in contrast to the Ushiromiya women (Eva, Kyrie, Rosa, Natsuhi) who are so often able to express their innermost thoughts in these long, emotional sequences. Umineko doesn't allow space for these women to be caricatures, but instead seems to make space for them to be characters we simply don't have enough information on.

I think Asumu is the best example of this: she is a character with very little actual voice in the main story. Rudolf theorizes that she knew about Battler's true parentage and raised him with love regardless, but also worries that her death was due to his lies and infidelity. Her cause of death is never revealed. Kyrie talks about Asumu as a smart woman who played dumb and innocent to steal Rudolf from her, and there is the distinct concept that if Asumu hadn't died of Cause X, Kyrie would have killed her soon after. Battler sees Asumu as an uncomplicated, loving mother. And then, when Ryukishi released Last Note, we saw this different side of Asumu - an arrogant, jealous woman who took pride in her skill at puzzles and believed that she could have saved everyone, but also still a loving mother who loves her son, and even accepts her son's half-sister, Ange, in the end. Never a caricature, always cast in shadow, but with depths beneath.

But back to what I mentioned before - male characters being treated as those flanderized, flatter caricatures, with their feelings brushed off. It's very interesting to me, because it's not even just a case of male characters simply not having the screentime - they do. Battler and Kinzo get the most of it, but George also receives plenty of discussion as well.

Battler and George, however, are the male characters who I see the most flanderization of. Battler is a pathetic crying malewife twink bottom. George is a child predator who grooms Shannon.

George is a man who was raised by a hovering, overprotective mother with ridiculous expectations of him. She made him study every day and tried to instill values befitting of the power and status she hoped he would someday have into him. However, he saw how Battler, who was meant to be 'inferior' to him, getting along better with girls - even the one he liked - and grew jealous. His relationship with Shannon began because of this, but it also helped him to understand his own flaws, and he tried to change himself. Coming from a place of privilege, this is a difficult task. He also truly loved Shannon, even though he sometimes had a patronizing view of her due to his own instilled biases, and was even willing to go against his family for her. He isn't a perfect person, but he was attempting to change and grow.

Battler is a man with a deep empathy for others and is overly emotional at times - a trait I think is unfairly made fun of, given how men showing emotion is often portrayed as unmasculine, feminine, and shameful. He has a strong sense of right and wrong, and though clumsy and foolish at times, does his best to help others. He was raised by his grandparents for 6 years, so he is somewhat divorced from the privilege he now once again holds as a member of the Ushiromiya family, and makes mistakes because of that. He makes a lot of sexual jokes, but it's implied that this is due to being socially awkward after reuniting with the family he hasn't seen in six years. It's very difficult for him to truly despise someone, but once his trust is broken, even if he still loves them, it can be very hard to earn that trust back.

...I don't think the fandom needs to focus more on the male characters, per say. No one should be told they need to focus more on X than Y because enjoying X is more ethical, progressive, fair, etc. etc. But I would like to see people at least acknowledging the complexity of the male characters in Umineko more. The malewife Battler jokes are funny, I admit, but I'm tired of the child predator George jokes. Can we please leave people who ship Shannon and George alone? At this point, I'm beginning to worry about if they're alright... seeing a lot of hate for something they love can't be pleasant.

It's a general trend I see - liking a male character means you need to prioritize female characters more. Liking a het ship means you need to make it gay, or appreciate gay ships more. If a bisexual character dates someone of the opposite sex, this is bi erasure or erasing queer representation. But it's alright to like male characters, het ships, bisexual characters in het relationships, and so on. What isn't alright are the biases that are keeping queer media from receiving as much publicity, as much funding. What isn't alright are the biases that give male characters much more complex writing than female characters in many pieces of media. We as consumers can examine these things in the production and text of the works we enjoy, but I think there is too much focus on this ethical consumption of media.

...And that's how we end up making child predator George jokes - to reconcile the existence of a flawed, nuanced male character (who can and should be criticized of course) with the fact that Umineko is such a woman-central media. Umineko needs to be one of the 'good ones', the 'ethical ones'. So the male characters must be reduced to jokes, to one-liners. It is an overcorrection on a fandom level to reconcile with a society level issue, one that can harm fans of those characters and introduce toxicity to a place that should be about sharing love for a small universe we all enjoy.

Honestly the joke with the new Barbie movie is the fact that its core message is just such a lukewarm take. It could be boiled down to "Women sometimes face hardships because they are women and men hold power over them. Sad emoji." and yet this was enough to majorly piss people (men) off. Which would be absolutely hilarious if it weren't just so sad.

Like, we have two problems here. One is that man = default. Men are so used to everything catering to them, that they honestly saw a movie titled BARBIE directed by a woman, starring a woman as the titular character, a movie adaptation based around dolls famous for marketing to women, a doll line whose pathetic male-bodied doll was always treated as an accessory sold separately to the female-bodied Barbies, who was always "the boyfriend of Barbie". But because it's a movie, movies are expected to cater to men, right? Because it's cinematography, because it's for adult, mature, refined (male) audiences, it should cater to them, right? And all the pink and all the "he's just Ken" and all the most girliest marketing this movie sent out did not manage to make them think "Hey, I think this movie is for women". No, instead, they said, "Why didn't this movie about a doll line for girls cater to me, an adult man, enough?" You saw it with movies like Star Wars (the one that introduced Rey idk i don't follow sw) and Captain Marvel, but I could even excuse it there. Because it's cool space samurais and it's comic book superheroes - media traditionally marketed to men. Sure, I could see them getting all hormonal and hysterical about a girl?!?!?!?!?@?@?!??@ in THEIR manly men doing manly men things movie?!?!?!?!?!?! and she's NOT just a love interest or damsel in distress or someone's tragic backstory?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!? whadda hell. But Barbie... Barbie? Are girls not even allowed Barbie anymore? What I'm saying is, the first problem is that men are so used to being catered to, that a movie that doesn't even act like it's catering to them got them so upset, because how dare everything not keep them in mind? Right.

As I very cleverly inserted the topic above, female characters in cinema are so often shown as one of three things: a love interest, a damsel in distress, someone's tragic backstory. That's all you got. Oftentimes, movies will critically miss female characters At All (lord of the rings lol), and this is something normal and realistic. In Barbie, first thing you notice is that every major character is a woman. Barbie, Sasha, Sasha's mom (forgot her name, but she IS named, this is important), the many other Barbies who carry the plot in the climax, and so on. Background characters in Barbie Land (why didn't they name is Barbie World...)? Also women. There is a lack of men in this movie, and it hurts their egos soooo bad it's honestly beyond pathetic. Who are your male characters? A handful of Kens. The main Ken is the only one who has some sort of impact on the plot. Allen is comedic relief. The Mattel board guys are comedic relief. Sasha's dad (who i'm pretty sure is unnamed) shows up for two scenes. As comedic relief. They're all irrelevant save for beach Ken.

The second problem is just how absolutely lukewarm the feminism in the Barbie movie is, and despite that, men are treating it like it said women should start castrating men for looking at them wrong. I've seen posts on here talk about it - Barbie also says "the patriarchy hurts men, too" unironically. Could you hold men's hands any more? (In this way, even Barbie is a movie that actually did cater to men. That actually did try to speak to them, too. Because Ken's growth is almost given a bigger spotlight than Barbie's, but whatevs). Barbie's take was that men still oppress women, but just hide it better. That's it. That's enough to anger men worldwide, apparently.

It was just so simple and so stupid in its simplicity. Barbie World is ruled by the Barbies (women). Every night is girls' night. Ken's feelings are hurt because the girl he likes doesn't like him back (a male character whose entire character revolves around the female character he likes - how bout that!). Barbie gets all fucky-wucky and has to go to the real world. She feels objectified and unsafe because men keep leering at her (omg guys did you know... women........ get harassed sometimes😱). Ken feels respected for the first time in his life. Shenanigans happen, Ken goes back, Barbie stays and then goes back. Ken invented the patriarchy in Barbie World. Everything sucks !!! The Barbies take advantage of the fact that men get jealous and possessive over women to distract them so they can reinstate the matriarchy. Barbie goes "um but wait, we were mean... let's be equal :)" etc etc. Tongue in cheek "Kens will have as much power as women in the real world do :)" line. The end.

Sasha? Let's talk about Sasha. Sasha is the Gen Z. You know this because she uses buzzwords. She is, like, the opposite end of the feminism. Or something, she's a bit more radical. She hates Barbie bc of the body image problems, she calls her a fascist and a bimbo, she tells her dad he's doing cultural appropriation by learning Spanish, and she's also shown as a hypocrite because she calls Barbie a nutjob before very quickly correcting herself to say something that sounds more, quotation marks, politically correct. (I think it was "reality-challenged", i wanna emphasise that this really is buzzwords). What I'm saying is, a character that has more radical views than "we should all just get along" is shown as bad for having such views. Its core message is not just lukewarm, it is actively saying, "Don't be radical like lil ol' Sasha, bc that's her character flaw! Let's all get along!".

And this, one movie that flipped the script on them while still keeping up a semblance of catering to men and going "oh, but we're not like those fun-hating women who actually want to be free from the patriarchy, we just want equality", hurt them bad enough that they're writing think pieces about how Barbie is killing traditional values and making women stray. You show men the most castrated and marketable form of quasi-feminism, and they still fight it kicking and screaming.

I don't know where I was going with this. I have no conclusion. Barbie made me laugh a lot, I enjoyed it. The feminism message was somehow both hamfisted and very much limited to "let's acknowledge the daily lives of women". Ken had an entire growth arc about learning to be his own person instead of only Barbie's pursedog (when do you see a female character get that growth...). And it still made men angry. There have been breakups over this movie. You know what I mean? It's all just so meaningless to try and get them to understand.

I have...such complicated mixed feelings on the way we're kind of "rehabbing" older queer(coded) characters lately.

On the one hand, it's really, really unsettling to see people unironically holding up these characters who were, more often than not, the butt of jokes in their time as somehow ~great representation~ and ~ahead of their time~ - when, for the most part, no! No they weren't! They were VERY much products of their time, they could barely be MORE products of their time! Even most of the few who WERE portrayed sympathetically for the most part still had MOMENTS where their queerness was played as something to be laughed at, not with! And the fact that we're hearing these claims that they're super positive and progressive actually all over the place at the same time as we're all but bringing back "metrosexual" with how much stricter we're getting about gender presentation before we begin to Suspect Things, at the same time as "egg" has all but become the ~progressive~ way to say "I'm revoking your man card" (but we internally think that's a GOOD thing so it's FINE to hold people to that standard, right?), at the same time as we have an explosion of people treating stereotypes as absolute facts that can predict everything about a person from their REAL gender (because the problem with gender essentialism is ONLY that people apply it to genitals instead of presentation, right?) to their sexuality to their sexual position preference and it's TOTALLY not questionable at ALL that all of this lines up almost perfectly with the model from ancient Greece that acted like being a gay male bottom was only slightly less pathetic and useless than being a (cis) woman which was just the WORST thing you could be, and all that fun crap...that's really not a fun call to have coming from inside the house!

But, on the other hand, in the context of an even partially changed culture...sometimes, uh...in a sense, maybe not the same sense some of the people saying it think, but a very meaningful sense nonetheless...they're right, actually. Some older queercoded characters, especially comedic ones, really have aged into being a lot more positive than they were intended to be, just by virtue of surviving to see the culture stop seeing "being gay or trans or gnc or anything else is inherently bad and shameful and embarrassing" as being as much of a self-evident "fact" as when they were written. Like, the writers were often never MEAN about them beyond "oooooh the man is wearing a dress!" or "oooooh that woman is crude and unladylike!" or whatever else that large swaths of the modern population...no longer see as inherently shameful or even close to it. There may still be humor to be found in the fact that they're flying in the face of expectations, but who a good number of us read as the butt of the joke has changed.

And another important thing is, this approach as a reparative reading isn't actually new at all. Queer communities have reclaimed and celebrated these characters this way for pretty much as long as they've been produced, reveling in the fact that really, when you peel away the completely arbitrary social demands, the superficial stereotypes used in this coding literally aren't even bad - oh nooooo, the character is ECCENTRIC, call in the national guard~! Like, c'mon writers, did you just forget to actually be mean in your bullying attempt, or what? Of course, these characters ARE still funny as hell though - by virtue of being the one fucking interesting person surrounded by boring-ass normies who react HILARIOUSLY to anything even slightly off from their expectations, that is. Nothing new about that reading at all! We've always been doing it!

What is pretty new - and for the most part constitutes a wonderful sign about how times are changing, but also has aspects that are very, very worrying - is people not realizing that this is a reparative reading and instead assuming this is how most of these characters were meant to be read all along, nor realizing that most people did not read them that way. It is still very, very important to remember - lest we, well, put the exact same bullshit in a rainbow hat without a trace of irony or deconstruction like we have been lately - that for the most part, they were not in fact intended to be read this way. There were a few exceptions, but for the most part, these characters were meant to be the punchline themselves, and they performed that role very well to the mainstream audience, because they came about in a time where, if you had a gnc man (or "man"), or a woman who's not interested in men, or whoever else, you really didn't have to go out of your way to frame them as something shameful; that was just automatically culturally "understood" to an even worse extent than it is today. The framing may seem sympathetic by today's standards, especially by the culture set by LGBT+ circles, but at the time it really wasn't meant to be.

But, you know what? As long as you keep that in mind, as long as you're not forgetting the very loaded history here...go nuts! Fuck it, those characters ARE ours now and I am not sorry and you shouldn't be either!

This is hard because, a lot of songs fit him. I have, previously, associated Hawkeye with Tomorrow Is Today, Pressure, and Everybody Loves You Now. I also think there's something there for Code of Silence (which could also fit other characters, I considered it for Charles; it's kind of an all-purpose trauma song). I wanted to do something different, which is why I picked this one. I don't see it as being about mood swings, despite the chorus, but the verses really sound like Hawkeye to me. It's that feeling of constantly fighting something and being at a breaking point.

The lyrics fit Radar's interest in romance, but the melody as well as parts of the chorus also remind me of how seriously he takes his job as clerk and how busy he always is. Sexually the first time did not last for Radar, but you know.

Margaret - She's Always a Woman

Oh, she takes care of herself, she can wait if she wants She's ahead of her time Oh, and she never gives out and she never gives in She just changes her mind

Look, I know. But it's perfect. It's about a woman in a male-dominated field who was widely hated for being too assertive and generally for misogynistic reasons. She's all these things, but she's still a woman. Plus the vaguely negative vibe to it fits Margaret too.

Frank - Why Judy Why

I never thought that I would need, need a friend But I did, in the end Tell me why, Judy, why

I really puzzled over this one, but I couldn't think of any Frank songs that summed up his whole character, so I chose one that I thought fit a specific part of his story. I don't think Frank ever anticipated Margaret would actually leave him, and when it happens, he's crushed. He does need a friend and he doesn't have any. "Judy" could be Hawkeye and Trapper or BJ, or it could be his mom, depending on the episode. I chose to focus on pathetic Frank, but while he's with Margaret, Blonde Over Blue fits as well. There's also a demo called The End of the World that I like to associate with Frank's fears of Louise becoming her own person.

Klinger - You May Be Right

Choosing a song for him was so hard! I think the general vibe of this one fits with the melody and all. Obviously "I may be crazy" is very Klinger but I also think "don't try to change me" conveys his absolutely refusal to be turned into a killer. I also like She's Right On Time as a Klinger/Soon-Lee song.

Mulcahy - All About Soul

It's a romantic song, but you don't have to take it that way, and I think it describes Mulcahy's role in the group well. They need more than toughness and more than medical skill. They need a heart, someone who can look after their souls.

It's about his baby daughter. It's about overwhelming love, but it conveys a bit of a dark side, too. Being in Korea is even more painful because he loves his daughter so much, so I think that desperation and fear of how strong those feelings are suit BJ well.

I assigned this to him once a while ago and I'm glad I remembered because it's perfect for him. The melancholy melody... the feeling of getting/having everything you want but something not being right... being out of place in the place you're supposed to fit... and the lyrics are perfect for him because of his love of music and experience with the musicians.

I honest to god feel dumb asf asking this but your page feels like a safe space so here goes... do u ever feel like you're addicted to fanfic (in a negative way)?! these days all I wanna do is read fanfic/smut and it's impacting my actual day to day life. the dopamine hits be spiking when I find a good fic then crashing when it's over. I'm in an amazing relationship but find myself comparing it to the world of fanfic - the fictionalised sex, perfect male characters, alternative universes... 1/2

2/2 I guess my question to you (and anyone else out there who's experienced this before) is how to consume fandom/fanfic in a healthy way without being in a heightened state of arousal searching for the next hit all the time... sometimes it really does make me sad that all this longing for one man and his FICTIONAL characters is completely parasocial and only ever will be just that. IS IT JUST ME am I a special breed of pathetically unhinged or can others relate?!

i think we all (or at least most of us) have been there! like anything i think when we find a hobby/interest that we really like we can often hyperfixate and become obsessed for a period of time. i wouldn't worry too much!!! if you legitimately do feel that it's messing up your life/relationships then maybe figuring out why that could be is a good starting point. if you're unhappy with certain things in your life it's normal to want to escape those things through other means. fanfic is a pretty harmless medium compared to other things you could be turning to so i think that's a positive!!

escapism is totally normal, we all do it. it's important to remember that we can't escape forever and we all eventually have to face the reality of our lives, but taking some time for yourself to escape through fic isn't a bad thing. i personally read fic almost every day and i don't think that's negative or unhealthy, to me it's no different than reading a book/essay/poetry collection etc etc, it's just a form of literature. comparing your own life to literature is also a totally normal thing, but at the same time if all you find yourself doing when you're reading is comparing things to your own life, there might be an underlying issue there. maybe talk to your partner about it or someone you trust if you're really starting to worry!

at the end of the day there's no shame in reading fic/being turned on by fic/getting off to fic/ etc etc!! i personally don't think there's anything wrong with consuming it often, it's just like any other hobby. but if you're genuinely worried that the quality of your life is suffering because of it then it might be a good idea to talk to someone 💕

Thanks to a whole bunch of wonderful posts discussing this dude, he's probably been one of the few characters in any media I've managed to have many complex thoughts about. (How much of it's an internal echo chamber? No idea~)

It's interesting how much can fit into one character in terms of potential and missed opportunities, especially since it takes having the seeds of a good character for such potential to really shine in the first place.

There's lots of characters in Homestuck who fit this bill. Jane, Aradia, Tavros, Feferi, Nepeta, and more. Each characters who had elements of good that never quite got to shine, whether it was simply the nature/course of the comic, the complexity they'd need to show that was unwilling to be put in, ideas that were already formed that (at least to many of us) just aren't as good as what could've been, and sometimes just the nature of having such a large roster that not all characters can share in the limelight.

Honestly, why Jake, of all characters, would attract me seems arbitrary (in all honestly, I didn't see him as much until I figured out a HoH headcanon for him, which opened me up to seeing more of his character. Relatability seems to be important pfft), but he really does strike me as one of the characters with the greatest amount of lost potential (right next to Jane, Nepeta, and Feferi).

(Seriously, Jane and Feferi could've been super interesting with working through social expectations and expected leadership, become explorations of breaking these downs, and Nepeta was an interesting example of kindness amongst the harshness of Alternia, seeing through Karkat and Equius' harsh exteriors even as (or perhaps because) she doesn't see the complexities of Alternian social classes and expectations)

When we look at Jake on the surface level, we see a teen who has all the same bravado and aspirations to adventure as his alternate adult self, shown with the new light of being a complete social buffoon (at least we're lead to believe this; how much is put on comes under all the hidden potential he has as a character)

If only see at this surface level, his cowardice later one feels almost expected, with Grandpa Harley always running, with his final destination being an island with nothing but butterflies and his daughter. The patheticness turned up to 11 by the end of the comic, he seems like he's meant to be the pathetic loser who dreams big but is too afraid to take them.

And yet, when broken down into fundamental parts, we start to see so many potential explanations to his character, we begin to wonder "Who is Jake English really?"

(I wanna say that his descent into "loserdom" by the end of the comic was Hussie basically giving up on him being a decent character or him playing the long game, building him up so that when he falls, he looks spectacularly shitty, which makes me wonder how seriously to take it as part of his original intent)

I don't think I'm gonna try getting into answering the "who" (there's a bunch of great people to check that, such as @4lph4kidz, @abraxas-calibrator and @hemoanarchist), but the fact that he in particular can have so much analysis on who he is and could be, despite how he's treated? It strikes me as super interesting

(Like, you can make those kinda of analysis on the Striders and Vriska, but they've always been treated well in terms of showing them off as well-designed characters - Vriska especially - and Terezi and Jade, as pushed down as they get, still come across as good characters you're meant to like who also have depth, but Jake doesn't fit into this kind of list, and yet he also has so much hidden depth, it's almost paradoxical. Almost~)

How can you have a character who's the "Strong Female Lead but male", as well as "a spectactularly goofy kid", and yet also potentially be someone who purposefully hides his true intentions because he never wants to hurt (himself and his friends) yet always seems to fail that? HOW DID YOUR PAST GROUPS GO?

Not counting the outside drama from the drama loving and creating part of the community, they went really well every time. I only ever had drama that was created on my group by a member once where he and my co-admin who didn’t like I wouldn’t let him changing like 80% of the lore to what he wanted. He and this member stole and deleted a lot of the lore off the group and even deleted a side blog I created and left for my co-admin to run that was going to do bi-weekly ‘missions’ and main event like things for the members. They both ran off and created their own abilities group that ripped off a lot of my stuff even used the missions system I had. But they made it extremely politic with the Irish liberation stuff as a big part of the main plot as my co-admin lived in Ireland and apparently support that? It never got off the ground as the three members they got to leave my group to join were told just to steal the skeleton canons they were playing on my group and they didn’t want to steal and felt uncomfortable and left so they closed it and created a weird omegaverse males only group where they would do challenges for money and if they failed or declined they were punished by taking money away and either killed or assaulted. It was weird and didn’t last more than a couple of months as they fought a lot and interest was low. Believe they even called it gay chicken.

Anyway, other that that bit of drama ever thing was smooth sailing in the groups themselves. I only ever closed them because may members would tell me from time to time they got harassing messages on being in my group and threatened along with me getting them on the main. I’d eventually feel bad for my members and eventually close the group for their benefit and then reopen later only to get the same thing.

The members themselves loved being there and we were all one big community of our own.
