I had the most bizarre dream about Lord Voldemort today, did you know? do you wanna hear about it? never mind, I’ll just tell you anyways.

So he was this spirit, this..this shade really, that followed me around, invisible to all but me. He could read my mind and all he did really was drop witty and sarcastic/scathing comments, and raise his non-existant eyebrows at me, regardless if his comments were welcome or not…(like him telling me my pasta was fucking terrible even though he hadn’t even tasted it and wasn’t even gonna eat it himself, the fucking bastard).

I remember being a bit fond of him in my dream actually, I got used to his presence i guess, not to mention he was really helpful and actually managed to save me from being murdered a few times (one of those times, Dumbledore just appeared at a gift shop we were at for some reason, like out of nowhere,then proceeded to question/lecture? me about my morals and looked at me all disappointedly, right before attempting to murder me - fortunately for me, right at the nick of time, my dear companion Voldemort shot a spell at Dumbledore in retaliation then managed to apparate us straight out of there and right onto a random street in Paris, and I could tell, because we landed right before a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower).

One of the other few things I remember about the dream, is me and him - and when I say me and him, I mean just me really, with him just tagging along like the fucking parasite he is, never leaving my side - going to a fish and chip shop. I remember ordering and then him telling me that he doesn’t really eat, and me being like “oh”, then feeling awkward for eating alone while he watches.

I also remember me and him, in a taxi cab, on our way to my great aunt’s, for some reason, and me telling the driver to go to Hackney, then him, Voldemort that is, asking me to spell Hackney out loud, like I’m some fucking idiot or whatever, and me being offended and sort of embarrassed/humiliated, but doing it anyway, only for him to tell me that NO, the correct way to really spell Hackney was actually fucking Haçsnes, and then it was sort of quiet in the cab and I was left wondering if I’d landed in some sort of alternate universe...

One of the very last things I remember about the dream is asking him to grow his hair for a bit, so I could run my fingers through it - oh yeah I forgot to mention that one, he could turn his appearance to Tom Riddle’s at will, either partially or fully - and then telling him to turn back after, because I liked his bald head (what the hell? 😭)…I also remember embracing him at certain parts of the dream, and holding his hands even, and how red his eyes were…when the dream was starting to fade into another one, I actually felt kind of sad, and I held on because I didn’t want to leave him, and I didn’t want our adventure together to end yet…

Such an interesting dream really…I think I’m just going through withdrawal, as I haven’t been reading any Voldemort or Tom Riddle fics lately…

People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.

For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.

The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.

So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.

Clone’s Best Friend

“Cute dog!” the girl says. “What breed is he?”

“Uh,” blinks Kon. "Are you asking what breed Superdog is?"

“Uh, duh?”

Well. She’ll have to forgive him his stunned expression, ‘cause he doesn’t usually run into other dog walkers on this path. This is, of course, because “path” is used in the loosest sense, the one that connotates direction and not tread ground, and the “walk” bit is entirely inapplicable, with all of them currently flying one thousand feet above sea level.

“Cujo’s a rescue,” she continues, swinging her feet in the sky, “so we don’t know for sure, but my sister thinks part husky, part shar pei. Half-and-half, like me!”

Cujo is also, apparently, half green and half glowing. He wiggles happily in a play-bow. It’s very cute, except for the way he’s the size of a small house.

Krypto’s tough, though. He barks and chases his new friend through cloud cover. Gamely, Cujo flees. They frolic in the chilly condensation, occasionally poking a head out before diving back in, like a fox in a snowdrift.

Neither of them see anything surprising about this. It’s all good fun. And, well. Krypto’s always been a good judge of character.

Kon turns back to the girl and gives her a megawatt smile.

“He’s Kryptonian. Like me. But he looks like a white lab!”

anyone else have multiple traumatic memories associated specifically with holidays/family vacations? because that is a topic I never see discussed in all the So You Had A Shitty Childhood, Now What? self-help books i've been reading. but for me, it was a significant thing. and the more i think about it the more it seems like this would be an (unfortunately) common experience. would be grateful to hear if this matches other peoples' experiences...
