Author's Note: here it is as requested. I hope I did it justice. Happy Halloween 🎃
You’d been on the run for months now, never stopping as hordes of the undead nipped away at any temporary calm would you seek to have. It wasn’t easy always having to look over your shoulder, wondering when you were going to get ambushed again or if you’d get overrun and you’d have to make your final stand in a blaze of glory. Something like that isn’t supposed to become normal, but after over a year of living in hell you kind of get used to it… Kind of.
That first month was the hardest since you had been completely on your own because in the chaos and confusion of that first wave as the everything fell apart, including the 141 you were stationed with, you’d gotten separated from everyone. Hiding in the sewers, scavenging for food like some kind of rat, it was torture. But then you came across someone you thought you’d never see again: Ghost.
He was holed up alone in an abandoned farmhouse back in the thick of the woods a town over from the base. What should have been a reunion with someone you knew was thrown off by the fact that he had in fact been turned into one of the undead. Out of everyone that you could have run into, why him? You two had history, the kind where intimate details were something that you shared, and now you were both thrust together once again only this time there were bigger things at stake other than if you’d get caught fooling around by the captain.
The strange thing was that even though Ghost had been fully transformed by the infection, it was not what you expected. You realized quickly that Ghost had kept most of his humanity, though the more finer details of his person were scrambled by the disease. Even though he could not speak anymore due to the fact that his jaw was broken, Ghost was still inside there. And the strangest part of it all was that he remembered you.
It wasn’t like anything you had seen from the horde of mindless undead and so instead of facing the unknown alone again, you decided to stick with him. For over a year you two stayed side by side and although you did not come across any others of the task force, it was enough to just have one another.
Honestly he wasn’t a terrible companion, though a bit of conversation would have been nice. Still, having him with you had its perks. Being one amongst the walking corpses had great benefits and Ghost used them to their full capability to keep you safe so that after a time, even though the world still sat in ruin, you two were not doing too bad. At least you were able to stay in place for more than a day now.
That’s where you found yourself, shacked up in a two story cottage you had found almost untouched and secluded in the middle of the woods. It was easy enough to make secure, as secure as you could having limited supplies, but apart from a few stray corpses stumbling by there wasn’t much action. That anxiety riddled tension that you had held in your chest for over a year began to ease and with that came old stirrings that you hadn’t felt since before the world collapsed.
An old familiar ache brought on by being near someone who you used to share such things with, the one that leaves you begging to be quenched, wormed its way back into your life and now that you had more time on your hands it was becoming a major problem.
You see, adrenalin has a funny way of fucking with your head: heightening your senses, making your pulse race, everything feels so much more intense. You were only human, one who still had needs which had not been met in so fucking long that you couldn’t even remember what it felt like to be touched by another and so having your blood always rushing and your skin tingling, how could you stop yourself from giving in to that most basic of temptations?
It was a shame that Ghost wasn’t an option now; you would liked to have him one more time as the world burned, but there was no way no… right?
So, instead, one evening after the perimeter had been secured and the doors re-bolted, the windows rechecked and the traps restrung, that ache reached its peak and you had to do something before it got in the way of staying safe. Sneaking off to the bedroom you had claimed for yourself upstairs, you allowed that overwhelming need to finally overtake you.
Leaving the door slightly ajar so that you could still be alert to any stray sounds, you laid down on the cushioned surface of the mattress, your pulse racing rapidly in your chest at the prospect of doing this. You made quick work of your jeans, unbuttoning them and pulling down the zipper only enough so that you could access that throbbing between your thighs. Clamping your mouth shut in an effort to keep quiet you slid your hand down the front of your pants, down all the way until you reached your sex.
A whimper filled your mouth that you choked back down; the last thing you needed was to alert a horde with your desperate cries as you worked yourself. It may have been a while, but you knew exactly what to do and extending your middle finger you split yourself open to find your clit, another whimper rising in your throat as you made the connection and began to draw tight circles around the bundle of nerves.
It was hard not to get worked up so fast as that remembered pleasure filled your mind and snaked its way through your limbs to make your body vibrate and as you stroked that pulsing bean you were brought back to those times when you and Ghost used to get lost in that ecstasy together. You couldn’t be blamed for where your mind wandered, not when you had to be near the one person who knew how to draw your pleasure from you, even if he couldn’t do it anymore.
Before you knew it, you had flipped yourself onto your stomach and then onto knees to ride your fingers, hips grinding away as you imagined him underneath you. Fuck, the way he used to look staring back up at you with those hungry copper eyes, hands greedily clinging around the meat of your hips as he shoved you down harder onto his cock before he would inevitably flip you onto your back to pound into you; it was enough to make you salivate with need, but still you tried to keep quiet.
You thought yourself sneaky, keeping things to a minimum as you desperately drew out your release, but Ghost was not the same man he was when he was alive. His senses were different now, enhanced like a wild animal’s by the infection that took his life and made him into something entirely new. As he stood in the living room, staring blankly out the window to watch for any signs of undead, something caught his attention.
The scent of pheromones were on the air, enticing him forward to the upstairs. He followed it all the way to the back bedroom, your room. Slowly, silently, creeping towards the door, Ghost peered unblinking through the slit to watch you up on your knees on top of your bed, your pants hanging slack around your hips while your ass point upward towards the door. That motion, he knew it; that back and forth sway of your hips over top of your bed.
There was another fragrance on the air now, something more familiar. Taking a deep breath, his heightened sense of smell caught the scent of your natural lubrication currently soaking your fingers and it awoke something deep within him like a fire in chest akin to what an animal feels when it goes into heat. His slack mouth began to unconsciously salivate as ingrained memories surfaced, flashes of remembered sensations from times when he too enjoyed such pleasures. Inherent, primal, a reaction as innate as breathing.
It was then that he became acutely aware of a tightness growing down below and instinctually he cupped his hand around it, rubbing the growing bulge against his chilly palm. Was he actually getting hard? That was surprising as anyone would have expected that to not happen anymore; he had retained much of his humanity, but he had not had the time until now to explore all the facets of what that entailed.
The more he rubbed the more it grew until the front of his pants tented out near the zipper, straining so hard against the fabric that he had to wonder if he could pop the closure without even trying. God, it felt…amazing.
“Fuck, Simon,” he caught the whispered hiss through the silence as you pressed your body down harder onto the bed, onto your fingers, and it sent a shiver up his spine. The way you said that name he hadn’t heard in so long, in that desperate way almost as a plea to your lust to fulfill its unspoken promise and wash that euphoric feeling over you, caused memories to violently resurface. He had heard that before in just that exact way- from you.
Scattered and disjointed memories of you beneath him burst into his minds eye, brought back to life by the sound of your voice: you writhing with eyes closed, your skin glistening with perspiration in the pale light of a dimly lit room, bare breasts bouncing up and down with each of his strong thrusts, crying his name into the silence as you came.
If breathing was something he was still required to do those lungs would be heaving by now to bring in enough air as he was so worked up that he would surely be panting. His hand gripped tighter now around the head of his cock, stroking with more purpose now as his dilated pupils followed the curve of your back all the down to your ass to watch it bob up and down.
The pace of his hand quickened to match your rocking as if fucking you by proxy, stroking through his clothes while transfixed on you. Goddamn he wished he could remember the way you felt wrapped around him, but that sensation had been lost when he succumbed to the disease. All he could do was watch and enjoy the way your body looked while your movements became more sloppy as the warmth gathered in the pit of your stomach, that delicious heat that you had not felt in so long.
“Yes, yes,” you mewled under your breath while your thighs clenched around your hand as you were so close. You brought in another finger to join the first one and with both you slipped them inside your entrance; it was nothing like the way Ghost could fill you out, but it would have to do.
Bearing down hard while you kept the pace steady, your breathing more erratic, you finally reached the peak and spilled violently over the edge, tumbling down as your body writhed and jerked through the overwhelming intensity of that first orgasm. You stifled your cries as much as you could inside your mouth, but they still reached an unknown listener who nearly came himself if he had not had to move quick before being spotted.
…and that left him very frustrated…
You fell onto the mattress, removing your fingers from your pussy as you breathed out a sigh of contented relief. It hadn’t been clear just how much you needed that until you came and fuck did you feel on cloud nine now. As you rolled over onto your stomach to stare up at the ceiling while you rode out the wave of your euphoric high, you swore you heard a series of strange movement just outside your door; a soft few taps that sounded like they were getting farther away which would have been out of place, but the house you were currently boarded up in was old and so you convinced yourself it was nothing.
Besides, if anything was truly wrong, Ghost would have already alerted you by now.
It was several minutes you just laid there in the silence before you took one last deep breath to calm yourself as you got up to straighten your clothing and re-buttoned your pants, hoping that your self-pleasuring session had gone completely unnoticed to your companion as you headed back down stairs to double check that everything was still secure.
In his usual spot you found him standing, always watching with that unblinking gaze, but as you stepped into the living room his sight was immediately drawn to you. “Hey,” you greeted him, “everything still okay out there?”
The usual grunted reply was returned and you stepped over to where he stood, just to take a look for yourself. It didn’t hurt to have another set of eyes to catch things and you felt more comfortable checking for yourself anyway. Scanning the area outside you saw nothing out of place, but as you pulled back from the window you were met with those cold eyes directly staring at you.
Silently Ghost’s large hand came up to touch your cheek, rubbing his thumb across a certain flush pooling there that drew his curiosity and he grunted with a nod of his head at it. You diverted your gaze, suddenly self-conscious about how warm they were still, like a fucking beacon calling attention to what it was you were doing upstairs; not that you cared, but shit you didn’t need your business plastered all over your face like that.
“It’s nothing,” you reassured him with a chuckle. “Just got a bit warm I guess. I promise I’m not infected or anything like that.”
Fully expecting him to take you at your word you went to move over to the sofa, but his hand clung to the side of your face to keep you in your place. You tilted your head as he shook his own side to side slowly.
“What? Don’t believe me?” you picked, slightly concerned about this strange development; he had not acted in such a way before and you did not know if it was a part of the infection or not.
Again he shook his head before his eyeline lowered down your body until his sight stopped at the crotch of your pants. Shit, had he heard you? Could he smell the trace amounts cum still clinging to your cunt? There was no real way to tell, but the way his eyeline kept drifting down before meeting your own again was enough to indicate that he was aware of what you had just done.
You cleared your throat. “You know what I was doing, don’t you?” you asked and was met with another nod, this time to the affirmative.
Well, nothing to do about it now; what was the point of denying it? “Look, I just… needed something to take the edge off okay?” you spurted out. “I mean fuck, I still have needs, even if they had to be put on the back burner for a bit while we tried not to get overrun. You of all people should know how I get sometimes. At least I was quiet enough not to cause problems for us.”
Ghost looked back at you with those milky white eyes, but there was something behind them, something that you recognized, something… yearning. Suddenly you were aware that his other hand was on your hip now, tracing sloppy circles around the soft warm skin just under the hem of your shirt.
Goddamn the familiarity of his fingers lingering over old paths they used to take in times almost forgotten; if you closed your eyes, it was like you were right there back with him. Your chest was tight with the increased thumping of your heartbeat in your throat, the air not filling up your lungs as well now as he pulled you in a little closer to him until your bodies were against one another.
That was when you felt something against your thigh.
“Can you…?” you risked asking the question. No, there was no way that he could still get hard, right? Right?
A large, cold hand wrapped around your wrist and brought it down to his crotch where he rested your palm against it and to your surprise the bulge in his pants responded to your touch. Your eyes shot back up to his as your breathing hitched.
“Fuck,” you murmured and was promptly met with a grunt from him followed by a deep chuckle.
Perhaps it was the history, the knowledge of what his body used to give you; perhaps it was the need that you had not truly quenched fully yet; perhaps it was your memories that you’d used as you touched yourself; or maybe it was as simple as you still wanted him; whatever the reason it didn’t matter. All you knew was that you couldn’t stop yourself from wanting more of what you started upstairs.
Hesitantly your fingers grasped at his shirt, slowly tugging at the seam as if to silently ask to be allowed to remove it. Never letting his gaze waiver, Ghost raised his arms and allowed you to pull it up and off over his head. His body was just as you remembered, though quite a bit more pale and the flesh discolored in places, but all the lines and bumps, scars and imperfections were the same and as you ran those delicate fingertips over his skin it all came flooding back.
This is crazy, you told yourself. But it was the end of the world after all, why not go out with a bang?
“It’s been a while,” you said, gaze taking him all in. “God, you always did make my heart race just taking off your shirt, ya know.”
“Uhh,” he grunted in agreement.
The contrast in body temperature between you both was stark and he enjoyed the warm, tingling feeling your finger left behind wherever they went. He had not felt such a phenomenon in so long that it was like lightening striking inside his mind as nerve endings reignited. It went the same with his pants as you undid them to let them hang loosely around his hips.
Following your lead, he helped you out of your shirt as well so that you stood bare chests facing one another. Your nipples were already hardening as they hit the cool air and he ran a fingertip over the tiny rosebuds to feel them. You were perfection, a sight of decadent flesh that fueled that hungry need he had to abruptly cut off before and the more he stared the more it grew.
The couch sat just behind you and taking your hand in his he moved the few steps over it to take a seat. Grabbing onto your hips and turning you around, he pulled you down onto his lap to sit on top of him. That throbbing bulge barely covered by the pants slipping off him was straining even harder now and you had to open your legs so that it could comfortably stand at attention in between them.
Situated on him you leaned your warm, bare back against his chest, those muscles that you knew by touch alone were now clammy, yet still familiarly fit against you just as they always had. Ghost took those stiff, cold fingers and ran them slowly down the line of your neck to your chest, around the tissue of your breast and down still to the curve of your hip.
Being touched that way by another, by him, after so fucking long made your skin tingle and you leaned your head back against his shoulder to close your eyes and simply enjoyed the icy prickles his fingers created. He brought those fingers back up all the winding way to your throat and then back down again, except he did not stop at your hip this time.
Lower he walked those decaying digits into your lap, then inside the waistband of your jeans, and then all the way down until he was inside your panties. You didn’t try to stop him, instead letting your knees fall open to give him more access. The further he went the more he could feel just how warm you were, the damp heat radiating off your cunt and into his pulse-less palm as he cupped his hand around your sex.
“Christ,” you exclaimed in shock as your body jolted against him, your pussy still a good bit sensitive from before.
“Uhhh,” he groaned in response, intrigued by how much he enjoyed causing such a visceral reaction and wanting to replicate it.
Again your scent filled his nostrils, those delicious pheromones that he had caught a whiff of earlier, and it began to awaken something primal within him. Taking his fingers, he drug them heavily over the slit of your cunt until they slipped between your petals and into that still dripping core. Again your body jolted into him as those thick fingers rubbed the length until he found what he had unconsciously been searching for: a small bundle towards the top.
“Ugh,” that deep groan was more breathless this time, as if he were enjoying the feeling of your juices coating his fingers.
Cool fingers began stroking against your clit with a rhythm that was ingrained in him from past experience and it was like falling right back into old habits. Your hips started to roll over his hand as they were want to do in response to his movements so that it was like a dance of give and take and he had to wrap an arm around your waist to keep you from slipping, but it was worth it to feel the way your body moved.
Like an animal a strange compulsion awakened inside, enhanced by the disease coursing through his veins, and the untamed part of his new nature was flooded with the need to rut into you. The more music you made, the more it filled his chest until the sensation became too much to quell.
With a growl he moved you both to the floor in a rush, ripping your jeans off of you in one strong tug before pushing you forward and pulling your hips up so that you had to get on your knees. He too knelt behind you as he shoved the fabric of his clothing down enough to release his engorged cock and taking both of your hips into his preternatural grasp, so firm that his fingertips made the muscle sting, he aligned the head with your slit.
This was crazy, highly dangerous, and slightly insane, but you couldn’t stop, not with how your body felt being pleasured for the first time in well over a year by someone who knew it. Whatever the consequences you’d deal with them later, right now you just needed to be filled to the brim with everything he had.
Instinct knew what to do and slipping through your petals a few times, he rested the head against your opening and with a strong thrust shoved himself inside as far as he could go. Goddamn you had forgotten the actual feeling of how big he was, but there must be something in being undead that made him even more engorged because his girth almost more than the walls of your pussy could handle. Fuck, you were so full of him that when he finally pulled out of you it would feel so goddamn empty it would physically hurt.
You were aware that his cool palm was on your back now, running up the length of your spine to just between your shoulders where Ghost stopped to shove your top half down further into the ground so that your ass would rise more and without more of pause he began to thrust in and out of you furiously. Each stroke stretched you out more until the sting subsided and that was left was the satisfying euphoria that comes with being filled so full.
“Simon,” you moaned out his name and a dormant part of his brain lit up. Hearing it for the first time upstairs was nice, but being inside of you as you breathed life into that moniker was the highest level of ecstasy he had experienced yet.
And he need more. “UH,” he growled with force as he slammed into you from behind to make your ass bounce off of his hips.
You braced your hands under your head to steady yourself, but it did little; the man inside of you was gone and all you could do was hang on. Still, even with his roughness, the way his cock still reached those desperate nerve endings inside of you made the arch of your back even more pronounced.
“Fuck, you feel so good,” you choked out the exclamation as your voice vibrated from the impacts.
Harder and faster Ghost pounded your pussy from behind, throwing caution to the wind as he grunted and groaned like a beast on the hunt about to capture a fresh kill. You were so fucking warm, so gorgeously wet, that even his dead skin felt reanimated so that each brush of your body against him had him reeling in pleasure.
This was the closest he would get to feeling like a living thing again.
Stopping suddenly he ripped his cock out of you amidst your begging protests to flip you onto your back, brutishly pulling your ass onto his knees. Your thighs rested high around his torso, squeezing against him as he immediately thrust back into that warm, wet hole and expeditiously returned to that overwhelming rhythm.
The room was filled with the wet, sticky music of your bodies slapping against each other as Ghost worked your hole for all it was worth with a reckless abandon that you had not seen in him before. This wasn’t love, not something tender, but only pure animalistic lust and the more he stroked in and out of you the more he needed.
And then he felt it; a warmth in his stomach like he had swallowed coals. It started faint, almost indistinguishable until it had nearly filled him full the more he kept going.
He couldn’t stop, he couldn’t back down, he was so close he could taste it. You weren’t far off either, nearly at the peak of your second orgasm the harder his cock stroked in and out of you, stimulating your clit along with it just from the pressure of his thrusts.
“Shit, don’t stop,” you pleaded pathetically to him, your toes curling into the air as you focused on your breathing. Right there, it was right there; all he had to do was keep going.
A few more pumps of him deep in your core and that was it, like a hot flash of white light you cried out in shaky whimpers as your orgasm tore through with such force you shot up as your back arched and your hips bucked harshly into him. “Goddammit Simon, fuck.”
He wasn’t far behind as the warmth that had been building finally shot through his body, coursing like a burning river of fire through his veins as he ripped his cock out of you and through your thighs to cover your stomach in his milky white semen. The roar he released while he drained his cock dry over top of you rang out through the house like a wild animal’s cry until he hung limply over top of you, completely spent.
Everything lay still once again as you caught your breath, allowing your ecstasy to run its course before you even tried to move out from against him. As you came to sit up, once again you were met with his eyes watching you closely. It felt like he was admiring his handiwork: the flush in your cheeks, the sweat speckling your torso, the exhaustion in your limbs.
He had done that…and he liked it.
You flashed him a genuine smile. “Well, that was something wasn’t it?” you laughed and he chuckled deadoan along with you.
Maybe the end of the world didn’t have to be so bad after all. At least, now you both knew that there were ways to have a little fun… and oh fuck, were you going to keep having little bits of fun.

Reunions and Resolved Misunderstandings — Cal Kestis x gn! reader
summery: feeling like an outcast, you're the first one to leave the Mantis' crew. years later, you stumble across Cal once again and old feelings end up bursting to light in the worst of ways. At the very least, misunderstandings are finally cleared.
tw: mentions of killing/assassination (readers past), hurt/comfort, slight spoilers for the beginning of Jedi Survivor.
a/n: I got to the kiss in Jedi Survivor and inspiration struck. I can see how every Cal fic is about 4k words long, its hard not to write so much for him lmao.
wc: 3.1k
Master List
It had been as clear as day. The connection between Cal and Merrin was undeniable. It made your stomach churn. You were with Cere and Greez when you saved him from Bracca and had been glued to his side ever since…that was until Merrin joined. Don’t get me wrong, you loved her and was glad to offer her a new home…but every time your eyes landed on the two you felt your heart twist. In response to this new development you distanced yourself. Tried to smile past the ache in your heart and enjoy what you had. But it was hard, and it didn’t help that Cere and Greez seemed to know of your predicament.
It hurts, seeing the man you loved, who came to you for medical treatment, or would count on you to watch his back, to slowly slip through your fingers. His green eyes that used to sparkle when landing on you had now turned to look at Merrin. How his lingering touches had all but vanished, leaving your skin feeling colder than normal. What made you feel even worse were your thoughts of leaving. Cal wasn’t your only priority, you had Cere, Greez, Merrin…but everytime you found yourself forgetting about the pain it seemed to always hit once more full force.
This is how you found yourself packing your things…not that you had much. Just some extra clothes, some photos of your crew, and some gifts that BD-1 and Cal had given you. Double checking your blaster, daggers, knives, and the case that held your sniper, you found yourself contemplating if you really wanted to go through with this. That was when you realized you couldn’t handle watching the one you love end up in someone else’s arms, it was easier to leave altogether. As quietly as you could, you made your way through the Mantis, memories of your friends, almost family popped up every so often.
With the ship lights off, you couldn’t be more thankful for your specialized contact lenses. Everyone was sleeping in their quarters…or at least they were supposed to be. You froze as you ran into Greez, and as his gaze landed on you he seemed to deflate.
“You’re really just gonna leave like that?” He asked, his voice low to keep from accidentally waking anyone up.
“I’m sorry,” You murmured, not able to look in his direction. “I just…”
“I get it kid,” He sighed. “The others won’t be so happy, but I’m glad I caught you on the way out.”
“I’m glad to have met you all,” You tried to console, but you weren’t sure if you were trying to console Greez or yourself. “I’ll be forever grateful to you and Cere for saving me. Here,” Taking out a piece of paper, you handed it to the Latero. “It's a note, I know the way I’m leaving is shitty, but I couldn’t leave without letting you guys know it was voluntary.”
With that, you disappeared into the night, trying your hardest not to look back.
~~~
You were the first one to leave, and soon Cal found himself watching his crew leave him one by one. He was heartbroken when Greez read aloud the note you left behind, wishing them all the best, and how you were going to a rebel base not too far from where they were. He didn’t understand why you left, or how everyone had accepted it so easily. He wished he could’ve seen you one last time, to ask you why, to plead for you to stay. When Greez finally bought Pyloon Saloon, Cal found himself resenting you slightly. You seemed to be the catalyst for everyone's departure. You were all so happy, why did you have to leave them? Why did you have to leave him?
When he thought back of his time with you, he felt like he was choking. He couldn’t remember the last time he saw you, or what you last spoke about. Had you scolded him for getting injured? Did you laugh with him over a silly scenario with BD? Or was it that lonely gaze you sent him as he joked with Merrin, not paying any mind to you. Are you happy now? Have you made new friends? Have you found someone to confide in? Cal’s heart hurt no matter how he spun his head around you. Don’t get him wrong, he missed the entire crew. He missed Greez’s cooking, Merrin’s dry humor, Cere…but somehow he found himself missing you the most. How you cared for him so gently after he’d get hurt, how you’d listen to his problems and give advice that seemed far beyond your years. How even if you weren’t used to touch, you’d still allow him to hug you after a long, stressful mission. Even with his new crew, he still felt that hollow void that the old crew left in him. No matter how lovely they were, how deeply he cared about them, he couldn’t help but reminisce of the good old days. Trapped in the past that seemed golden. Cal thought that he had been imagining you at first. Depressed after a harsh mission on Coruscant that wiped out his entire crew, seeking solace at Pyloon Saloon with Greez, he hadn’t thought he’d find you here. He felt like he’d stumbled upon an oasis after stumbling through the desert. Have you always looked so ethereal? Smiling so sweetly as you talked with Greez. You looked different, hair a new length, more mature, happier…have you always looked this happy?
Cal was snapped out of his stupor as both you and Greez turned to face the jedi. He almost got lost once more, wanting to drown in your gaze. He missed the soft way you’d look at him, how he felt cared for and loved with your eyes alone. Instead of that sweet look he was used to, your eyes filled with panic, your posture awkward as you curled in on yourself. The same way you’d react to a stranger. It felt like the dagger you’d always hide in your boot had managed to pierce through his heart. As Greez greeted Cal, you watched on the sidelines, sipping your drink as you tried to hide from Cal’s piercing gaze.
How long has it been since you last saw Cal? It’s been quite a while. You had only planned on catching up with Greez, as you both left on the best of terms, and although Greez tried to assure you that Cal and the others still cared about you and weren’t angry, he seemed a bit hesitant. So essentially you were scared, scared of the repercussions of your own actions. Running away could only take you so far, and if you ran enough you’d end up right where you started. And you ended up running straight back to the problem of why you left. Your body tensed as Cal took a seat beside you, not aware he had already finished talking with Greez. Anxiously, you peered up at the red haired man through your eyelashes, unsure how to take his blank gaze, or the way your name gently fell past his lips.
“How have you been?” Cal asked. He couldn’t wrap his head around the various emotions you managed to stir up. Sadness, bitterness, longing, anger, regret.
You shrugged, looking down at your drink as you stirred it, “I’ve been alright. Doing runs for the rebellion and all that. Thought I’d take a short break to check in on the old geezer.” Cal chuckled slightly, wishing for the awkwardness to dissipate, wishing for what you had to come back. “How about you?”
“Could be better,” He hums, eyes never leaving the side of your face. Drinking in your profile as you shied away. You could tell something had happened, there was a darkness in his eyes, that shine you remember had dulled and you felt your heart break. He didn’t elaborate past that, and you knew better than to pry. A short silence washed over you, awkward, but Cal felt his heart thrum steadily. “I missed you.” You couldn’t stop yourself from looking up to him in shock, mouth slightly agape as you struggled to wrap your head around the vulnerable moment.Pushing past the way you wanted to run, having closed yourself off once again after you left the Mantis, you once again found yourself struggling to let yourself be vulnerable. But the sad puppy-like eyes Cal was sending you made you push past that, mumbling that you missed him in return.
“Why did you leave?” He asked the question you hoped to never go over.
Once again you found yourself battling the raised walls you put up, unsure if you wanted to actually confess the true reason. Instead, you settled for a watered down version. “I guess I felt a bit left out. Like an outsider I suppose. So I decided it was best for me to leave…”
“Left out…?” Cal couldn’t help but repeat in a whisper. Guilt suddenly consumed him, his brain finding every time he remembered seeing you on the sidelines, smiling at the moment you had witnessed. Or how you’d slink away, no one trying to stop you as they all laughed about something he couldn’t even remember. It…it was his fault.
“It’s none of your guy’s fault,” You consoled, a bitter smile lining your lips. “I should’ve spoken up about how I felt, instead I ran away like a coward.”
“But I should’ve noticed-” You quickly shut him up with a swift kick to the shin and a lighthearted glare. He gave an overdramatic wince as your kick could barely be described as a kick, more of a light tap. But he felt his heart warm as you were once again slowly opening up to him.
“Not. Your. Fault.” You spoke sternly. “You always were so quick to take the blame.”
“Wanna help me find a gyro module for old times sake?”
~~~~
You forgot how easy it was to love Cal Kestis. That night when you left, you knew you’d always love him, he has his own special spot in your heart. But over the years those feelings were buried under layers, like sediment. Whether it be adrenaline from missions, celebration with new friends, or the death of a crew member, you find yourself focusing on other aspects of life. You hadn’t planned on running into the now infamous jedi, but even so, you hadn’t expected those old feelings to rupture forth like an exploding volcano. His boyish smile sends shockwaves to your heart. His gentle touch helping you drop down a small cliff makes you yearn to give him a hug and melt in his arms. His compliments on your skills making you puff your chest a little. It's scary how one person has so much control over your feelings, but you also miss the feeling.
It all comes hurtling down at once when he starts going on a tangent about Merrin. It started with you asking about her and Cere, and now he won’t shut up about her growth in the time you left. You felt stupid, stupid that your heart still managed to cling to the hope that he’d felt more for you in some way. Of course he only loved you as a friend, and you were grateful, but also downtrodden. Though this time Cal seemed to pick up on your spaced out look, gently calling your name.
“What’s wrong?” Cal asked like the caring person he was.
You snapped out of your little bubble you didn’t even realize you put yourself in, bringing your gaze to the concerned one of your friend. “Nothing, I’m glad she’s doing well,” You said with a strained smile. It was left at that as both you and Cal explored Koboh, avoiding raiders to the best of your ability. Exploring the Basalt Forest, you found yourself looking at your surroundings in awe. You loved exploring different planets, watching the flora and fauna interact, from ice planets that had plants still managing to cling to life to desert planets that had a variety of animals that had adapted to the harsh climate. If you hadn’t been taught to kill from a young age and forced to be an assassin, you would’ve loved to have been a researcher.
Unbeknownst to you, Cal was silently watching you fawn over every little thing you stumbled upon. Pointing out a bug you’ve never seen before or trying to pet those birdlike creatures that would try to charge at you. He could only watch in awe, seeing you in a completely new light. He never fully comprehended that you had a love for wildlife, or just anything that wasn’t human at that. You had always fawned over BD, leaving him feeling a bit left out, but happy the little droid made you happy. And now seeing you do the same for any animal, plant, and even some bugs…he never knew the extent of your love. Making him realize that this entire time, he only knew you through the lens he set for you. A very Cal centric lens.
Has he ever really known you? All of you? There’s only one way to find out, and that was to get to know you. All of you. From your best aspects to your worst flaws. And as you both sat on the edge of a cliff, Cal couldn’t stop himself from watching you. The way the sun shone down on you, from your hair shining brilliantly to the way the sun made your eyes pop, he couldn’t get enough of you. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder and Cal couldn’t agree more. His eyes followed as a small gust of wind blew your hair out of place, and without a second thought, he gently brushed your hair back in place, admiring your startled look.
So many emotions overtook him. There was a warmth to your presence, whether that be through the force or not. In fact, he didn’t really care, he just wished he’d never have to be devoid of the feeling again. And as you looked at him, neither of you backing down from your little stare off, Cal felt something selfish grow within him. He wanted you to join him again, he wanted you to be there to patch him up like before, to fight by his side, to hold you close for comfort. In fact, he can’t remember why he stopped doing that, why he let you both get distant. As these selfish thoughts and desires grew, he couldn’t stop his eyes from dropping to look at your lips, they looked oh so inviting.
You felt your heart skip a beat as Cal’s eyes dropped for a few seconds. No, no this wasn’t right. He clearly loved Merrin, so why was he staring at you like you had hung the stars and moon? Why was he leaning in closer? Why could you feel his breath hit your face, why is he closing his eyes? This is what you’ve always wanted, so why were you panicking? Why did you push him away, causing him to give a hurt and concerned look.
“I-I’m sorry,” Cal stuttered. “I…I should’ve asked.”
“No, its, I,” You stumbled, trying to put together a sentence with your currently scrambled mind. “What about Merrin?”
“What?” He asked, eyebrows furrowing in confusion. “What about her?”
Now you were the one giving him a confused look, “You clearly love her.”
“What?” Cal could hardly believe his ears. His heart dropped when your face crumbled into a tired look, releasing a long sigh as your eyes trailed back to the beautiful scenery around you.
“The way you talk about her, look at her, interact with her…it's obvious how much you care for her,” You explained.
“Because she’s my friend,” He countered, grabbing your hand that lay on your lap. The anger you had always felt about the situation started bubbling up, your eyes squinting into a sharp glare as you grip on his hand tightened into an almost bruising grip. Your frustration made clear in the tears that started to well up.
“So then why did you forget about me!” You snarled, letting go of his calloused hand and putting some distance between you both. Your vicious look dissolved as tears rolled down your cheeks, pulling your knees up to your chest and buried your face, not wanting to see Cal’s hurt look. “We were so close, but then all you paid attention to was Merrin and I felt like an outcast. Like I didn’t belong with the crew anymore.”
You tensed when he put a hand on your back, trying to comfort you, but instead of pulling away, he pulled your curled up form into his side, holding you as you cried. “I’m sorry,” He whispered into your hair, holding you tighter. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t know you felt that way.”
“I-its not y-your fault,” You stuttered through tears. “Instead of telling you I just left.”
“You should’ve never felt like that to begin with,” He murmured, his own eyes watering at the thought of you feeling alone like that…all because of him.
“It's not like you can read minds,” You grumbled, sniffling as the tears slowly started to end.
“Well…”
You elbowed his side while trying to stifle a laugh, “Shut up, you know what I mean. It’s not your job to keep tabs on how everyones feeling at all times.”
“But I care about you,” Cal stated, pulling away enough to face you. He finds himself brushing your last few tears away, his palm resting against your cheek. “If I knew you felt like that I would’ve done something.”
“I know,” You murmured. “But we can’t change the past. What’s happened, happened.”
Resting his forehead on yours, you felt your breath hitch as Cal let out a frustrated sigh, “I’ll make it up to you.” You felt your heart stutter when he opened his eyes, determination shining clearly. “I promise.”
“I’m sure you will,” You replied, a small smile forming. Getting to finally vent out your problems seemed to have lifted a weight on your heart you didn’t realize was there the entire time. Leaning in, your heart jumped as Cal placed a sweet kiss to your cheek, standing up quickly and holding his hand out towards you. You found yourself pouting inadvertently, but taking his hand nonetheless. As he pulled you up with ease, a mischievous smirk tugged at his lips.
“How about we start tonight?” Cal asks. “I have an idea of where to start.”
“Okay,” You agreed. “Lead the way.”
Things might not have been perfect, and soon Cal will continue his journey, but for now, in this moment, everything finally fell into place.

Ominis Gaunt x Reader
One shot
Word count: 4,744
Keep in mind I'm Dyslexic so there may be spelling/grammar/punctuation errors.
Summery: Ominis has been gone on Auror work and has been out of the country for years. He is finally home and comes around for a little reunion.
A/N: I'm so sorry you are all subjected to such a long rambling. My fingers ran and I followed. Hope you enjoy. Part of this was inspired by this image.
Ominis Gaunt. How to explain Ominis Gaunt?
He was kind. He was caring. He understood your problems. It was very interesting when she learned he was blind. It was many years ago, she had failed a Charms exam. Looking back on it now, that exam wasn't even that important. It was a silly thing to think about how hard she was crying as she walked through the Defense Against the Dark Arts tower. The echoing of shoes and sobs following her as she wandered aimlessly around the castle. All of her other friends had already gone to their other classes, leaving her alone with her emotions and thoughts.
"Excuse me?" A gentle voice said behind her.
Turning, she saw a boy. She had seen him before, with his blonde hair slicked back and his piercing blue eyes that never seemed to see her. He was in one of Her other classes, Herbology maybe?
She wiped her face on her robe sleeve, trying to rid the signs of her salty tears before he could get a good look and ask questions.
"Yes?" She said, maybe a little more cutting than she intended.
He didn't seem to notice, "I couldn't help but hear you crying. Are you alright?"
He knew.
"O-Oh. Yes.....I'm fine," She gave a weak smile in hopes of reassuring him.
"You don't sound fine," He took a few steps closer to her, his wand firmly held out in front of him.
Why did he have his wand out like he was ready for a fight?
She sniffled again, "I am. Promise."
A small chuckle escaped his lips, "Very interesting. Already making promises and braking them. And we haven't known each other more than five minutes."
What did he know?
He made his way across the marble floor to stand in front of her. It was interesting, the way he had come from only lead to a dead end, but she could have sworn he wasn't there when she originally passed that part of the corridor.
"Please, I know you don't know me very well, but I can be a very good listener. If you need to talk with someone."
And that that was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. Not only did he help her feel better that day, but he was always the constant comfort for her during the rest of her schooling days. It wasn't exactly either of their faults when things started to get in the way after graduation and neither of them had really seen each other in person for a few years. Always owls back and forth about where their career paths took them.
Ominis was actually a very good Auror, despite his lack of vision. He and Sebastian worked together, which made her happy that they could stay close with one another. It was a nasty thing that happened with them during their fifth year. It took a while for them to rekindle their friendship. That was really when Ominis and her got close. They were good friends before, but in those months after the incident, Ominis was the one who needed comfort. And that's where she came in. He had alway been there for her, and it was her turn to be there for him. And that's how she found out more about his family. What they did to people. To Him. And there was no way she were going to make him go back to them over the summer.
So she offered to let him stay with her. An offer he tried his hardest to refuse, but she wouldn't let him. The summer months spent with her family were an integral part of what made their bond so strong. The days spent out behind her home sitting in the grass under the old oak tree. The sound of her voice as she read him all of those stories she always talked about. He would often slip into a cat nap as she read to him. When she noticed she couldn't help but smile and continue on reading, lest he wake up again.
And now here she was, sitting at the table in her flat as an owl swooped in, dropping a letter in front of her. She had been expecting the small envelope for a few days. Details of when Ominis would be coming into the city again. He had been away somewhere in Eastern Europe on a case for a while. He had told her that she would not be able to refuse to see him, it had been far too long. She had offered him to come to her flat. She knew he wasn't one for crowded pubs, much preferring a quiet setting.
I'll be there on Friday.
7pm.
Ominis
It was an oddly short note, but he surely was getting things wrapped up and didn't have a lot of time to be sending out his normal pages of writing she had grown accustomed to.
--
She fiddled with her dress, smoothing the silk under her fingers. The motion was almost unconscious, a way for her to let out the small bit of anxiety that was bubbling up in the pit of her stomach. She poured herself a glass of wine and took a few sips, hoping to calm her nerves. She knew that Ominis couldn't see her, but she still felt the need to check her appearance in the mirror one more time, just to be sure she looked okay. She had always had a soft spot for the man--She even had a crush on him during their school years. She could feel the old emotions of that school girl crush coming back up to the surface as the clock inched closer to seven. She shook her head, trying to get rid of those thoughts. It had been years since she'd seen him, she was acting silly.
There was a knock at the door.
She set her glass down on the table before making her way down the hall and opening the door.
And there he was, in all of his glory. Time had been very kind to him. He still sported his hair style from school, slicked back and still just as blonde as it had always been. He still had the same smile on his face. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she took him in. He had a wonderful blue three piece suit that fit his chest and arms snuggly.
She took a deep breath, collecting herself, "Ominis!"
"Hello, dear," He held his arms out, inviting her in for a hug.
She didn't hesitate to walk right into them as she snaked her arms around his torso, burying her face into his chest. She felt his arms close around her in a tight hug. The feeling of being in his arms was just something so right. She could feel the butterflies of her old crush fluttering in her chest. She almost welcomed them as she took in his cologne. He smelled of mint and something she couldn't quite pinpoint. Perhaps a new aftershave? It had been a long time, he was bound to have something different about him. She wasn't complaining though, she welcomed the delicious aroma he put off.
"Miss me that much?" He chuckled, still holding onto her tightly.
She felt the rumble in his chest as he laughed, and she realized she could hear his heart beating as well, thrumming against his ribs. She looked up at him from her place in his arms and giggled lightly as his jest.
"Is that such a bad thing?" She questioned with a teasing tone to her voice.
She saw the small smile he had been wearing grow wider at her question and he shook his head, "I suppose not."
She smiled up at him and slowly pulled away from his arms, taking his hand and leading him into her home, "Tell me about Eastern Europe. You know I don't get to travel. I would love to hear about it."
They found seats at her small table in her kitchen and she poured him a glass of wine before sitting back where she had her own sitting from before.
"Well, I'm not sure how much I can tell you. Sebastian did do a wonderful job at painting me a picture of what it looked like, but I'm not sure I could really do it justice," He admitted as he took a sip of his wine.
"Well, tell me how you saw it. What opinions do you have in that brilliant head of yours."
He smiled again, "Well, how to describe it...."
He thought for a moment, swirling his wine in his hand as he sank back in his chair. He was starting to relax, lose all those silly 'proper' mannerisms. He knew he could really relax with her, not have to worry about the judgment he was so used to.
After a moment he spoke up, "Well, it could be loud. Walking the streets with Sebastian. He told me how beautiful the architecture was, how different it was from home. There were always carriages being driven around, and people. But, there was a little shop down one of the quieter side streets. They had the most wonderful coffee there, and good pastries. The smell of them was so delicious," He was smiling widely as he recounted the memory, "And at night, when all of the people were finally gone.....It was so peaceful. The only sounds were my footsteps and a few owls that had a nest near where we were staying. That was when I really enjoyed the city."
She smiled at him, "That does sound lovely. Maybe on day you can show me that little pastry shop."
"I would love to. I thought about you every time I went there, you know. I know how much you adore sweets and sugary things."
He thought of her? Well, of course she thought of him, but she hadn't thought that he gave her much more thought than when he got a letter from her that he had to write a reply to. It almost caught her off guard.
Ominis noticed her silence and spoke again, "Darling, I must admit--I thought about you more than when I went to that shop. More than when I got your letters," He sighed, running a hand through his hair before he sat up straight again, "I don't know how I've managed these years apart from you, being back here now. When you opened the door I felt like I dove head first into the Black Lake. I can't keep my feelings a secret any longer."
His feelings? What was he talking about? Surely his didn't mean what she thought he did.
He stood from his place at the table and came to stand in front of her before swiftly getting to his knees. He held his hands out to her, an invitation that she couldn't decline. She placed her hands in his and he squeezed them lightly. She looked down at him as he stayed like that for a moment before he continued.
"I'v had feelings for you since we were at school. I thought that maybe it was just a school boy's crush and I would get over it. I didn't want to jeopardize our friendship on something that I would forget about in a few weeks," He chuckled, "But I was very wrong."
She sat there, him still holding onto her hands. She watched him carefully, taking in every detail she could. How his pale skin seemed to almost glow under the light filling the room. Every last little beauty mark on his face--They almost looked like constellations. She had realized she was holding her breath at that point and took a sharp inhale.
She felt Ominis's hands tighten around hers as she did so, almost as if he was afraid of her answer. Like if he didn't hold her tight enough, she would float away like a balloon in the wind.
She still harbored feelings for him, but it had been years. He was bound to be a different person, as was she. Would they be able to have a relationship after being away from each other for so long?
"Ominis-" She began before being cut off by his deep sigh.
"Please, just give this a chance. Give us a chance. I have lived without you for too long. You are every thought on my mind. Your voice is like sweet nectar to my ears. Your scent is intoxicating. I understand why men do such rash things for the women they love. I would do anything for you. Anything to be the one who gets to know who you really are behind closed doors. To be the one who gets to feel your soft caress," He suddenly let go of her hands and moved them to rest one on the arm of her chair, and the other to rest on her thigh.
The feeling of his hand on her sent a shiver up her spine. She felt the goosebumps rising under his touch. His words were already making her feel dazed. How could he hide such strong feelings from her for so long? Why did he pick now to tell all of it to her?
She felt his hand squeeze her thigh lightly, another sigh leaving his lips.
"I don't think you understand what you do to me, darling," He chuckled and shook his head almost in a teasing way.
"What?" She could feel her underwear staring to get damp.
He leaned in closer, his chest now hovering over her body and his head tilted up to hers as she looked down at him, "You don't understand what you do to me." His voice was husky now, and barely above a whisper.
She felt her breath hitch and her skin ignite under the warmth of his proximity. Her heart was practically beating out of her chest and the butterflies in her stomach threatened to fly away with her. In that moment, she could swear that Ominis was staring right at her. Pouring his soul into hers.
He leaned in even more, noses touching and lips ghosting over each other, "I'm going to kiss you now, if you'll allow it."
She barely heard him over the sound of blood pumping in her ears. She couldn't manage to speak, not the she didn't try. So, she opted to just nod ever so lightly, not wanting to move her lips too far away from his.
He pressed his lips to hers, gentle and sweet. It was in his nature to be gentle with her. He had always been that way with her. His hand on the chair swiftly moved to the crook of her neck, finally giving her the skin on skin contact she hadn't realized she was craving. His thumb rested gingerly on her jaw as their lips moved in sync.
After Ominis had done his testing of the waters, she felt his kiss get more aggressive, more rough. More like he was drinking in the sweet waters he had been yearning for, for years. The fire in him only growing as her lips moved to match his rhythm, surprisingly enough for her. She didn't realize she had wanted this so badly, to feel his lips on hers, to feel his hands on her. It was enough to drive her mad, and she craved more.
Ominis moved his lips from hers, earning a soft whimper in disagreement. He chuckled again as his lips adeptly found their way to her neck, laying a path of soft kisses.
She bit her lip, feeling the trail of heat and the tingling sensation he left in his wake. His hand on her thigh moved suddenly, slipping higher, his thumb grazing as he went. He was getting dangerously close to her now. She let out a soft moan as he began sucking on her neck.
She felt him smirk into her skin, "I want to see you. All of you."
What did that mean? See her?
His mouth moved to her ear, his hot breath washing over her. And almost as if he read her mind he spoke in a hushed whisper, "You know I see with my hands."
Oh.
Oh.
Her body moved before her mind could process. She quickly stood, causing Ominis to almost fall over. He was thankfully quick on his feet, standing not a moment later. She grabbed his hand and pulled him along behind her as she made her way to her room.
As soon as she crossed the threshold, his hands were all over her. She would never know how he seemed to just know. Right now, though, all she could think about was he feeling of him running his hands down her sides as he pressed his body against hers from behind. He went straight back to kissing her neck again as his hands moved to the back of her dress.
She could feel as he delicately undid each button, running his fingers behind on the newly exposed skin of her back.
"Your skin is so much softer than I imagined," He said as he laid a few kisses across her shoulders, pulling the dress down off of them.
As soon as it he got it past her shoulders he let go, letting it fall to the floor, all but forgotten as he slid his hands down her back slowly. Savoring every inch of her now exposed body.
Her breathing was shallow. She took quick breaths to try and fill her lungs, but nothing she did could stop them from screaming at her as she felt his hands leaving goosebumps behind them.
"W-Would you like me to show you?" She managed out.
He hummed an agreement, his fingers still tracing out the shape of her shoulder blades under her skin.
She turned to face him, almost as if he was commanding her and she was to obey. He held his hands out to her, his eyes half closed in what only could be disturbed as a sultry glance. She bit her lip, taking his hands by his wrists. She could feel his pulse. She was glad that his body had to be screaming at him as much as hers was.
Gently, she brought his hands to her chest, letting him cup her breasts in his hands. She watched him as he did so, his mouth falling open ever so slightly. He moved his thumbs over her hardened nipples which elicited a muffled moan from her as she clamped down harder on her bottom lip. She watched him smirk and blink a few times before she moved his hands, sliding them along her abdomen to rest on her hips. He squeezed lightly at first before digging his fingers into her flesh, his nails almost leaving marks.
"You are exquisite," He breathed.
He squeezed one more time and she felt her legs getting more slick by the second. She then moved his hands behind her, letting him rest them on her bum. He gave it a good squeeze before leaning in and kissing her again. His lips hungry for her, passion and desire leaking out of them.
She realized that she was the only one naked in the moment, and she wasn't about to let him get away with that. She quickly started unbuttoning his vest as their tongues melded together. The only sounds in the room were wet lips and heavy breathing with a few moans here and there.
Ominis's hands moved again, this time on their own to grab her hips again, digging his nails into her skin. She let out a small moan, prompting him to do it again. After a few more moments of unbuttoning his clothing and wet kissing, he stood before her in just his trousers.
She took in the sight of him, soaking in every detail of his form. He was still lean as he had been in school, but there were ever so slight layers of muscle that tugged at his skin in just the right way. He looked absolutely divine. Her lip found it's way between her teeth again as she tried to count every little round mark on his skin. She could spend hours just trying to commit each one's location to memory.
"Enjoying the view?" He raised an eyebrow at her as he kicked out of his shoes.
"Oh, more than you know."
He let out a deep chuckle as he stepped toward her.
"Lay down," His voice was rough and commanding.
She didn't hesitate to obey, quickly making her way to the bed and laying down. He made his way to her, grabbing her thighs and pulling her to the edge of the bed. She let out a small yelp to which he only smirked. He guided her underwear off slowly, letting his fingers graze her skin. He spread her legs wide, holding on to her knees as he he knelt down in front of her. His hands moved from her knees and slid slowly up her inner thighs, his calloused fingertips grazing her in a way that made her feel like she was on fire. He slipped on of his hands under her leg, lifting it onto his shoulder and firmly holding it in place by her thigh. He squeezed again, pressing his cheek into her soft skin.
"You are a divine gift from the Gods, my sweet."
Every time he spoke words like that to her, she could feel her whole core tremble. If he could make her feel like this with just words, what could he do-?
Her thoughts were cut off by the sudden feeling of his finger sliding over her clit. She gasped and almost pulled away from the sensation, only to be stopped by his firm hand on her leg.
"Ah, there you are," He said.
He quickly backtracked his movements, pressing light circles against her. She let out another string of moans as he worked her sensitive area. She looked down at him, watching him. His mouth was parted and she could see the desire written on his face.
"You are music to my ears, dove."
He continued like that for a few moments before dipping his fingers to her entrance, feeling the pool she had left for him. Because of him.
"Oh, you are so deliciously wet for me, love," He smirked again, sliding two fingers into her slowly, relishing in the feeling surrounding them. She threw her head back against the bed. He let out a small groan that mixed with the moan she let out at feeling him inside of her.
He began pumping his fingers slowly, the sweet sound of her drawn out moans and the wet slapping of her pussy hitting his ears. He picked up the pace, shoving his fingers as far as they would go.
"O-Oh, f-fuck!" She arched her back. His fingers were like magic as he worked her.
He stopped suddenly, removing his fingers quickly. She whined at the loss of him, looking back to see him slowly put his fingers into his mouth, sucking her off of them.
"Merlin, you taste phenomenal."
He quickly stood, unbuttoning his pants and pulling out his member, pumping it a few times with gritted teeth.
"On your knees." He commanded.
She quickly got off the bed, kneeling in front of him. He still held himself in his hand. He used his other hand to grip onto her hair.
"Open," He growled.
This was a new side to him that she hadn't seen before, and she wasn't ashamed to say that she liked it. She liked being commanded by him, she liked how he gripped her, how he pleased her. So, she did as she was told. She opened her mouth wide, sticking her tongue out, ready to accept him.
He slowly guided himself into her mouth, a muffled groan escaping his lips. He moved her head by the hair firmly in his fist, stroking himself ever so slowly.
"Your mouth is so fucking good." Ominis was not one for swearing. He hardly ever said anything one would consider crass, and that made this all the more attractive to her.
After he gave her a moment to acquaint herself with his size, he began thrusting his length into her quicker. Soft groans coming from him as he did. He began picking up speed, thrusting harder, shoving his whole length down her throat. She tried to keep her throat relaxed, not choke on him, but she couldn't keep it up. She gagged loudly, which caused him to pull out entirely, a wide smirk on his face.
"Good girl," He said, "Now, get back on the bed. Ass up."
She moved and got back on the bed on her hands and knees, putting her bum in the air. She felt him get on the bed behind her, his hands gripping onto her hips. He slid one of his hands down her bum and felt for her entrance before taking his length and pressing his tip against her.
"Ready, love?"
"Y-Yes," She breathed. She had never imagined that their reunion would turn into this, but she was happy it had.
Without another word, he roughly pushed into her, feeling her walls around him with a drawn out groan.
"Fuck," He muttered, rolling his hips.
She moaned out as he did so, feeling him fill her.
He reached out and gripped her hair again, pulling her to support her top half with her hands. He began bucking into her wildly, moans and groans filling the room as they both felt the pleasure rocketing through their bodies with each connection of hips.
"That's right. Take it, darling, " He groaned, "You take my cock so well."
She could feel him hitting deep within her, right on that magic little spot. Each thrust of his length hitting perfectly. The knot in her stomach was tight, almost painfully so a he continued his pace, her moaning loud and unbridled. He moved his hand from her hair and slipped it around her mouth, leaning forward to press his chest against her back.
"Quite, darling. I want to hear my cock fuck that pretty pussy of yours," He almost purred into her ear.
He continued to buck his hips as he stayed over her like that with his hand over her mouth. Her moans muffled by his firm grip on her face. He grunted into her ear as he listened to the wet sound of skin on skin echo off the walls surrounding them.
"Mmmm," He said something after that. Something that she could only describe as air slithering past his tongue.
Parseltongue.
He let the sweet sounds of it pass his lips as he fucked her. Listening to him speak to her like that was only serving to drive her more mad. She could feel herself getting closer as the friction became almost unbearable.
Her walls began to tighten around him, causing him to let out another groan.
"Let it out, dove. Come for me," He whispered into her ear, sitting up in his knees again and gripping her waist tightly.
The then began pounding into her, pulling her hips to meet his as he groaned and grunted at the feeling of her tight pussy around him.
It didn't take long for her to get to her climax after that as he continued to hit her sweet spot. Her legs shook under her as the knot in her stomach came undone.
"O-Oh, Ominis!" She moaned loudly as she came. Her breath heavy.
He chuckled, continuing to hit her hard as his own climax came over him. He groaned loudly, pushing as far into her as he could, filling her to the brim.
They stayed in that position for a moment, both panting hard as they came down from the high of their escapade. After a moment, Ominis pulled out, falling onto the bed next to her. She quickly followed his lead and laid next to him.
He opened his arms for her to come closer to him and she happily obliged, cuddling herself into his chest as his arms wrapped around her. He kissed her forehead and then rested his chin on top of her head.
"How was that?" He asked.
She giggled, "That was....It was wonderful."
He chuckled and squeezed her tightly to him, "Good."

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Gwen's entire body was crawling with nerves as she flung out her webs. She surged through her home city with poise and elegance. Her anxiety was shielded on the outside; Spider-Woman always had to be collected, breezy, perfect. Even now. Especially now, considering the news cameras and helicopters pointed at her. She could only imagine the headlines being displayed all across New York:
Vigilante "Spider-Woman" Makes An Appearance After Months
Masked Hero Re-Appears
Ghost-Spider Visits During Violent Era Beginning Without Her
She groaned in frustration, doing her best to outrun the nightcrawlers and news stations. Her father was probably getting his force ready to incarcerate her that very moment. A chill spread across her skin, and it wasn't the frigid rain.
She swung into an alleyway, ripping her mask off to catch her breath. Her time before Miles was put in real danger was ticking away, and this game of cat and mouse certainly wasn't helping. She sighed and sunk down the brick wall in exhaustion. Gwen needed to figure something out before she was cornered in the labyrinth that was New York City.
She listened to the cars screeching in the distance, listened to the bar fights, the laughter of a group of teenage girls past their curfews. It was by no means a city of sunshine, but she desperately missed her life.
Desperately missed you.
Gwen pulled her hood over her head as far as possible, ignoring the sting filling her eyes. She sighed shakily, breath condensing in the autumn thunder.
She needed to see you. Besides, it's not like she had much of a choice.
God, why did I have to make my suit bright fucking white? Maybe then these idiots would leave me alone.
Even now she heard the choppers pulsing in the sky. She wondered with a shudder how many were police force. Gotta get out of this suit.
She slipped her mask back on and set off. See, Gwen would never commit a crime with malicious intent. Hell, she was Spider-Woman, but she couldn't see any other way blend into the city without the chance of bumping into her dad at the apartment.
So she robbed a clothing store.
As gently as possible, but unfortunately that still meant damage. Gwen huffed. Had it really come down to this?
She pulled her arm back, flinching away from the window as she shattered it with a simple punch, even whispered "sorry" as if that changed anything. The shards clinked against the sleek-tiled floor of the Nike shop and she hopped inside with ease.
Don't have much time, she noted. The alert system wailed deafeningly as she shot webs at every security camera and stole the footage for that night. She raced through the store, grabbing a pair of black sweatpants and a navy blue winter compression shirt. She changed right there in the store with the cameras blinded. She swiped a drawstring bag and stuffed her suit and mask inside. She kneeled down to lace up her converse tightly. She still had a long way to go to your flat.
Gripping the strings of her bag tightly, she raced away. The rain had stopped, but the storm still threatened deep rumbles of thunder a couple of miles away. Her swift footsteps splashed through grimey puddles lit by orange streetlamps. The city seemed more perilous than ever as sirens screamed and guns fired, and guilt struck her chest.
Internally thanking her enhanced speed and endurance, Gwen stared up at your window not even ten minutes after she fled the store. Now came the hardest part: facing you, her closest friend, after she joined the society. Truthfully, she missed the warmth gifted to her from your loving arms. Something her dad never gave her before she left.
She paced around the block over and over again, wondering what the hell she was supposed to say to you. "Hey, I'm back after months of radio silence, and don't mind that I just crawled up your wall because it turns out I've been a human-spider freak this whole time. Missed you too."
Suddenly, it didn't matter what Gwen wanted to say anymore, because a police car was turning the corner.
"Fuck!"
She dashed up the wall and onto the roof, crouching to avoid any nearby helicopters. She released her breath in relief. She shook out her body and rubbed her temples. This was it. She began to crawl down the face of the complex, hoping she'd remember the right window.
Perk number 42 of being bitten by a radioactive spider.
She peered inside the window of your bedroom. It was convenient for her in the moment, but Gwen made a note to scold you for leaving your blinds open. She reached her hand out, hesitated, then curled it into a fist and gently tapped. She squeezed her eyes shut.
She saw you look up from your school laptop in confusion.
It's one in the morning and this woman is really doing homework.
Gwen tapped again.
"Y/N!" she called out softly. "Y/N, let me in!"
She heard a muffled "what the fuck?" through the glass.
"Gwen?" you whisper screamed in disbelief, unlocking your window and pulling it open. Your jaw went slack as Gwen simply jumped off the wall while diving into your window.
"Y/N, before you say anything, let me explain," she frantically rambled. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Please." Her eyes opened slowly to see you. Her body went rigid.
Fuck, she's crying.
Tears were welling and threatening to spill out from your eyes. Your fists were clenched so tightly that your nails left crescent moons gouged into your palms.
"What the hell was that?" you laughed breathily before rushing forward to hug her. You practically constricted her as you wrapped your arms around her waist. She had no idea what to do for a moment. Her own emotions were about to overflow and wash her composure away. Gwen settled for squishing her cheek against yours while holding you tight. As she rubbed your back, your sobs quieted.
You pulled away, wiping the wetness away from your eyes and lips. Gwen's stare lingered as your thumb grazed over your bottom lip out of habit. You stood up a little bit taller.
"It's been a while, Gwen."
Her stance jerked a little, barely even noticeable.
"I know. I've got a lot to explain to you, if you're willing to listen." You nodded firmly, turning around to sit back down on your bed. You patted the space adjacent to you.
Gwen took seat, spreading her legs out comfortably and resting her forearms on her knees. Her posture was slanted; it was still hard for her to make eye contact with you. She didn't want to find anger or disappointment in those eyes she had stared into one too many times. Eyes that haunted her in the most tragically beautiful manner possible.
"I disappeared," Gwen began hesitantly. "But not without a reason. So much has happened in the last two years, I just...I guess it all came to one single point and that was it for me. I had no chances left, no risks to take. It was over."
Her explanation was raw, quivering and vulnerable. Your heart began to race, wondering what she'd say next. You had no idea what was going on; yeah, Gwen did ballet and gymnastics or whatever, but that little trick she did to get into your window was no joke.
She jumped up from the bed and turned to face you.
I have to do this now.
"This is the craziest part, but you have to believe me," she whispered. Fear coated her rocky voice and widened her eyes. You blinked at her in reassurance, smiling a bit.
"Gwen, just tell me. You know I'll listen."
She sighed heavily and grabbed her bag off the floor. "Okay. Give me a second. And don't make any noise when I come out." She slipped into your closet and shut the door silently behind her. The light flickered on and leaked out from underneath the doorframe. You watched her shadow move fluidly.
Inside the closet, Gwen was hyperventilating as she fit herself into her suit. She looked into the body-length mirror sitting on your floor, and a tear traced down her cheek. She was staring at her worst enemy, and she despised who she saw in the suit. Spider-Woman was a different entity.
She turned around and faced the closet door. Gwen placed her hand on the knob, taking a deep breath before turning it and pushing it open. She couldn't look at you, but when she tried, you weren't there. Her blood froze in her own veins.
Gwen was back in that collapsed building, that very same night, staring her father's gun down.
"Why the fuck am I here?" she questioned, panic filling her voice. She looked around, desperately trying to find your apartment, your face. Her movements suddenly were not her own anymore as she involuntarily turned to face her father. Her hands were lifted up above her head, but they sank down. One inched toward her mask.
No.
Her body didn't listen. Her fingers met her chin, grasping the enhanced material concealing her face from the world.
No!
She felt the cool air hit her lips, then her nose, and finally her weary eyes. She watched her father's face contort into horror and disbelief. Gwen finally found the ability to force her eyes to shut, tears spilling out. When she opened them again, she was back in your closet.
"Gwen? What's taking so long?" you called out quietly from your room.
She gasped for air, clutching her chest as she spasmed in silence. She aggressively rubbed her arm over her eyes, biting the inside of her cheek to stop herself from crying.
I have to do this. What happened before doesn't matter. I have to save things with her.
Once more, Gwen turned the handle and stepped out. She was relieved to find you sitting on your bed, staring at her.
"Uh, nice costume Gwen, but I was kinda hoping for you to finish your explanation?" you sarcastically jabbed.
"Y/N..." Gwen groaned. "It's not a costume."
You scoffed, becoming impatient.
"Really! It isn't, Y/N!" Gwen frantically begged with you to understand. You crossed your arms.
"How am I supposed to believe you're Spider-Woman?"
Gwen shoved her face into her hands. Her frustration boiled.
"You're gonna believe me after this," she nearly growled, flitting forward and taking you in her arms. She slapped a hand over your mouth to quiet your protest. She pulled her mask down and shot a web out of your window, slingshotting out of your room and into the night.
You were a mile away from your apartment in a matter of seconds while Gwen (Spider-Woman...?) held you firmly in her left arm, tossing you lightly in the air before you landed on her back. She guided your arms and legs to wrap tightly around her back as you let out a shriek. Your hair flew straight behind you in the cold wind.
"Gwen, I fucking believe you now," you choked out into her ear. You could barely speak in your terror. The eyes of her suit went wide and she aimed for the top of another building.
She landed perfectly en pointe, her converse flexing to match the arch of her technique.
"Shit, Y/N, I'm so sorry-"
Gwen's apology was cut short as you gripped her broad shoulders.
"You're motherfucking Spider-Woman!" you yelled in awe. A thick sheet of rain was nearing as Gwen's eyes welled behind the mask.
"You don't think I'm a bad person? Or...or a freak?" she whispered shakily. Your face softened. You slid your hands up from her shoulders, caressing her face. Her eyes squinted before closing as she leaned into your touch. She reached her own hand up and cupped yours. Gwen's soul lit afire as she stared at your gorgeous face, felt the warmth of your love and bare skin.
You simply shook your head.
"What a dumb question. You're my best friend. And when you left, I...I mean, I guess I just didn't know what to do with myself. I lost a part of me."
The words coming out of your mouth felt wrong. Gwen's heart screamed in desolation. Maybe you would never understand.
Best friend.
"You lost a part of yourself, but I couldn't breathe without you," she murmured, bringing her other hand up to find more ways to touch you.
Your heart began to pound as her fingers laced with yours. The rain began to fall over you, drenching Gwen for the second time that night. What did she mean by that? You could have sworn you felt her rapid pulse intensify even more as you experimentally pressed your forehead against hers.
"Gwen..."
You brought your hands (still cupping her face) down to the base of her mask, forcing her own hands to fall away. You traced circles into her skin before gently sliding the disguise up above her lips.
Gwen painfully rasped your name while her digits found your skin again, this time resting timidly on the small of your back. She needed this so badly from you all these years, even more so as your face became a tale, something she could only dream of.
"Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me. Please, please, please, just kiss me and never let me leave your side again, I'd do anything for you, Y/N-" she began to sob, but you caught her trembling lips in yours. Gwen immediately pulled you deeper into her hold, your bodies fitting together like a beautiful puzzle. Her fingers tangled into your hair and she pulled her mask all the way off. Her hood fell and her blonde waves began to frizz and tighten with the rain.
She savored the taste of your lip balm and the remnants of your bedtime herbal tea, picking you up and allowing you to wrap your legs around her. You pulled away, breathless and eyes filled with the starlight that the stormy midnight lacked.
"I love you, Gwen," you breathed. "But you're back for a reason. I don't know what reason that is, but you have to do it. We're counting on you."
Gwen nodded, dropping you safely and kneeling down to fit her mask back over her face and to allow you to cling to her.
"You forgot something, Ghost-Spider," you teased, sliding her hood over her head.
She scoffed, looking back at you with narrowed eyes. "That's Gwen to you."
In no time, you were delivered back to your warm bed. The rain pattered soothingly against your window while Gwen dried her suit off with a towel you lent to her. She eventually settled for just laying the towel down on your bed and sitting on it.
"So...are you my superhero girlfriend now, or am I about to wake up from the most story-oriented dream of my life?"
Gwen laughed softly. Everything in her life was fucked, but you brought a glow back to her existence. She had something to look forward to now. She pushed her hand to lock with yours.
"For the record, if this is a dream, then you and I are definitely imaginary girlfriends. But, since this is hopefully real life..." she assured, squeezing your hand. "Yeah, I'm your superhero girlfriend." You began to fluster, heat creeping across your cheeks.
Gwen stood up, still holding your smaller hand in her stronger grasp.
"Which unfortunately also means I've gotta do superhero girlfriend stuff," she sighed, brushing her hair behind her heavily pierced ear. She looked at you apologetically as your grip on her tightened.
"Hey, we'll see each other again. I promise," she whispered, pressing a sugary kiss to your lips before backing away, her fingers slipping out of your reach. She pulled her mask down swiftly before turning around and leaping out of your window.
"I love you!" you shouted after her. Gwen beamed as she jumped through the city, posing in a recital-like fashion for the cameras when she lowered to the streets.
The rain didn't feel so cold anymore.

beso - rosé
– listen to ‘beso’ by rosalía and rauw alejandro!
i just need another kiss, one of those that you give me
roseanne was always in your head, whether it was her face, her voice, her laughter, or her lips, maybe even her touch. she was always. on your mind. today, it was her kisses you thought about. how your favorite moments with her somehow involved her laying on her side while u sat criss-cross in front of her.. always talking useless topics before she gets tired of pretending like she isn’t burning to touch you, feel you, taste you.
you kiss like you’ve always known how, like no one has had to teach you.
it’s always then she takes her cue to tangle her hand in your hair and pull you towards her lips, where yours dance against them. her teeth sinking into your lips every now and then so you would make those noises she loved so much.
most times than others all you did at night after a long and tiring day was just that. kissing with only the breaks to talk about something meaningless or inside jokes the two of you had. usually in the dark, sometimes out on your balcony. rosé had grown used to expressing many thoughts and feelings over them, and you had gotten used to understanding them.
being away from you is hell, being close to you is my peace. I love whenever you arrive, and I hate when you leave.
the hardest part was the wait. the wait to see her, to touch her, all while millions of people were seeing her and taking her in every day.
you were so proud of rosé, consider yourself her no.1 fan, but damn, do you wish she could be amazing and successful just a little closer to home.
you can’t lie and say you barely see her, but even with the many times one of you flies to the other, it’s not enough. time feels as if it’s being lost whenever you’re apart.
it’s a repeating cycle, the anticipation builds as the days lead to your reunion, either rosé picks you up at the airport or it’s you who’s waiting outside an hour prior to her flight landing, and then you have the best next couple of days and both of you will cry when it’s time to say goodbye.
“i hate this” you pout on the bed while she finishes packing her suitcase, taking advantage of her visit to refresh the contents of it.
“i know. i do too baby.”
“i hate when you have to go back.” you welcome her embrace, while she wraps her arms around your shoulders and her tummy welcomes the side of your face, her own cheek meeting the top of your head as she leans in search of proximity.
“i don’t think i have to be there tomorrow” she begins the swaying and the searching for excuses as to stay.
“rosie”
“yeah. lisa’s flying in two days, fuck that!” she giggles and pushes the two of you on the bed, a little too excited to be ghosting her job for two more days.
sometimes it works, as shown, sometimes either of you caves and does the impossible to prolong your stay in the arms of your lover.
it forces you to make the best of your time together, even if you’re laying together doing absolutely nothing other than stare into each other’s soul, you enjoy each other’s company so much you soon came to the conclusion you wouldn’t rather be anywhere else.
the best thing I've got, is the love you give to me. It smells of tobacco and melon.
unpacking after spending time with rosé or doing laundry in her absence have to be one of the most endearingly painful situations. endearing, because the musk of her cologne and the faint smell her clothes have gathered because of her cigarettes spring on you endless memories of you and her late at night smoking and talking shit about everyone you knew.
painful because it reminds you of how much you miss her. but you wouldn’t have it any other way. you adore rosé so much you look forward to talk to her even if it’s thirty minutes with as much privacy as the corner in her dance room can allow. she loves you to the point of taking spontaneous trips home whenever she has a break longer than two days, she won’t tell anyone, she will just disappear and her members and crew have to trust she gets to the next destination in time, because she won’t answer any sort of text or call unless someone was dying.
you’ll hold on to the clothes she wore on her last day home until the scent fades completely, hating the infinite battle you had with sleep when she wasn’t there with you. but slowly you overcome it, when she starts getting more of a vote over her career she tried to be home as much as she could, and if she couldn’t be then she would do anything to take you with her.
and it’s more kissing at night while stargazing and less yearning to be together after so long apart. it’s more of the sunday nights you spent either having dinner at a fancy restaurant in the city, or overlooking it from a hill with takeout from your favorite place.
i could tie heaven up, and give it to you entirely

Witch!Reader x Bat/Vampire!Eddie Munson Series Masterlist The Grimoire The Timeline
Warnings: canon typical violence, horror genre typical violence, swearing, no beta, warnings updated each chapter.
Synopsis: No witch has stepped foot in Hawkins since 1845, but when Vecna opens the ground and poisons the town, a voice begins to call to you. Have you been brought back to this cursed place to heal the townspeople’s wounds, to save a hexed bat that always finds its way to you, or to redefine your history with a reunion 150 years in the making?
Chapter Summary: When is a man, not a man?
1986
The elecampane was easy to find, but for the hawthorn less so. You had to spend the next day’s afternoon driving around Indiana looking for a store that might sell it. Eventually, a herbalist gave you the address of an off-the-grid botanist. They had all sorts of non-native species.
She had invited you into her house. “A witch is always welcome.”
You didn’t ask how she knew and she didn’t tell you. With hawthorn berries and spikes in hand, you drove back to Hawkins, arriving too late to cast any spell other than slumber. The bat would have to wait one more day.
The sun had barely begun to warm when the bat climbed onto your head and nipped at the tips of your ears. He wouldn’t be stopped, your attempts to swat him away failing.
“Alright, alright,” you said to him, sitting up. He flew circles around the room, then headed out the bedroom door and disappeared into the trailer.
The bat chittered at you as you started a fresh brew of coffee. “No,” you warned him, finger pointed like you were scolding a child. “Coffee first. Then witchcraft. They’re the rules.”
Coffee, a piece of toast, and you got to work.
“I’m kind of… winging it here,” you explained to the bat as you squashed hawthorn berries and elecampane petals with your mortar and pestle. “This has to have a healing base, because that’s where my strength is. And I’m going to try to tailor it to both animal and human… Since we don’t really know what you are.”
The bat had sat on your shoulder, his apparent favourite place.
“But we also need the magic to see the truth… In this case, the truth of what you are. Which is why we have these.” A small mirrored circular plate and a piece of sodalite.
“The hardest part is the spell itself, the words. But like Kelsey said, if our intention is set, then you know, we should be okay.” It was reassurance for the bat, but it helped you to say it out loud too, like a good luck omen.
With the petals and berries, you mixed in a drop of witch’s blood harvested through the hawthorn plant’s sharpest thorn, some dried four-leaf-clovers for luck, moon water, honey, and some of the bat’s fur.
On the carpet of the trailer, you painted a devil’s trap. “Sorry,” you offered to the bat. “If this works too well, and it turns out you’re a demon that should not have been turned back, I need a safety net.”
At each point of the trap’s pentagram, you placed a candle. In the center, the small mirror. You took the potion and tinted the mirror’s surface, covering it entirely.
“You’re up,” you instructed. The bat glided down from his fridge-top perch onto the mirror. “Hold this.” His little claws curled around the sodalite.
You closed your eyes, focused your energy.
“Hear now the words of this witch,
secrets hidden in the night.
The oldest of Gods are evoked here;
the great work of magic is sought.
On this day and in this hour,
I call upon the ancient power.
The truth of this life is to be revealed,
And let the damage be healed.
So shall it be.”
You opened your eyes and gently pushed the bat backward off the mirror, but not out of the circle. As you wiped the potion off the surface, you repeated the final line of the spell twice more.
“So shall it be.
So shall it be.”
With trepidation, you closed your eyes again and in unsteady hands, you flipped the mirror so the bat’s image would be reflected at himself.
Only a second of silence, maybe less than, before a sharp and loud intake of breath forced your eyes open.
The bat was gone.
In his place, a man with pitch black eyes and wild waves of hair. He looked terrified. Disorientated.
You stared at each other and as you parted your lips to speak, his eyes darted to the door and he leaped for it.
“Wait!” you called after him. You followed him out the door but he was gone. “Fuck, fuck, fuck!”
He couldn’t have gone far, you figured. He was naked and the trailer park was still packed with people.
You ran up and down roads and weaved between RVs. There was not only no sign of him but no sign that anybody else had seen him either. The surrounding woods were quiet and still. It was like the man had vanished into thin air.
When your search failed, you took to your car and spent a second hour looking for him. The only thing keeping you from all out panic was the fact that the man was not a demon; he’d passed through the devil's trap easily. At least you’d not brought more death and destruction to the town of Hawkins.
As you drove back to Forest Hills, you considered calling Kelsey and telling her your spell had worked. There was a nagging thought in the back of your mind though. Small but itchy. Whatever happened to the bat and the man, it wasn’t over. The circle had not come full.
…
The first thing he felt was hunger. Agony. Then he bolted and the sunlight outside your trailer burned. He moved too quickly for anyone to see, but he didn’t go far. He crawled under the trailer through a path cleared by raccoons and other animals.
It was dark but not enough. He dug at the dirt with clawed fingers, pushing the soil until he could burrow in and curl up. Motionless for hours, he searched his mind for any sort of explanation or sense of identity. There was nothing.
He didn’t know who he was. What he was. Vaguely, where. The same place he’d watched for all those years. When he was different. Smaller.
When the sun fell low in the sky, an old opossum trotted under your trailer. The man, entirely still, could hear its heartbeat. He listened as the animal sniffed around, its hairs bristling at the smell of raccoons. The opossum didn’t know it had been grabbed. The man moved too fast, breaking its bones and ripping it open to slurp at the blood inside.
He’d not been that kind of bat. He scared himself, his eyes wide as he looked down at the carnage. After, he crawled back into his hole, fated to repeat the murder with any living thing that found its way under the trailer.
…
“What were you doing yesterday, running around like a chicken with its head cut off?”
One of your neighbours was particularly… observant. When you got up first thing in the morning the next day, you did another lap of the trailer park. Still, no signs of the man. Just signs of you going mad, apparently.
“My, ah, cat… got out. Was looking for him,”
“Your cat?”
“My cat,”
“Michelle know you got a cat?”
“I don’t. Anymore.”
There was a three second stare-off, then you went on your way.
All day, while you helped make sandwiches and organise donations at Hawkins High, you half expected the man to show up. You kept glancing at the open doors, trying not to feel disappointed when it was a regular citizen looking for help.
It had been weeks since Vecna had opened the ground. Most people had either been moved to hospitals across the state and beyond, or had their smaller injuries attended to already. It left you with less healing to do, but your help was still welcomed.
Hawkins was through the worst of it, according to most people. You had to admit, it was calm. Perhaps too calm. You felt a sense of impending doom. Vecna would not go down without a fight, and you doubted the fight could be hidden from the townspeople entirely.
Still, you said nothing and did nothing. Healing Erica had already seen you cross a line. Maybe Hawkins was in the eye of the storm, but you couldn’t be the one to sound the alarm.
…
Scratching. Gentle at first, then claws against glass causing high pitch noises that made your body physically cringe. Awake, you sat and looked around the dark room. What time was it? Scratching. Scratching. Window.
The bat was at the window.
“What the fuck?” You hurried out of bed and pushed the window up, letting the creature into your house. “Are you…” When you opened your palms, he landed on them. It was most definitely him. “Fuck! Okay… Okay… Fuck.”
…
1836
“Those are not your apples,” you stated.
The boy spun on the spot, his hair whipping around. It was rare for anyone to sneak up on him. He grinned, all teeth and menace.
“Are they yours?” he countered.
Not a boy, you noted. A man. Young, but old enough to know better.
“No,”
“Then I won’t tell if you don’t.” He tossed the apple up in the air, catching it with ease. He put it in a sack that sat at his feet. There were a lot of things in there that were not his.
“I do not agree to that.”
He picked up the sack and slung it over his shoulder, moving closer to you. You stood your ground, entirely unafraid. Up close, the moonlight reflected in his eyes, which were as dark as the night sky itself.
“Then name your price,” he said, head falling lopsided dramatically, playfully.
The man was beautiful. Maybe, in all your years of living, he was the most beautiful human you’d seen. There was something about him. It wasn’t just that his beauty was disarming. His long hair was not common for men of the era. His skin looked soft too, like he came from royalty rather than the families that tended to the fields and fought in the wars.
It was when he took one more step toward you that you both figured it out.
The man’s easy expression dropped, a suspicious and cruel looking one taking its place. He made a hiss-like sound and let go of the sack of stolen things. He crouched low to the ground.
“Witch,” he spat.
You held your reaction in with far more grace than him. “Are you alone?” you asked him, voice measured.
He did not answer.
“Or, are there more of you?”
You took a step closer to him and leaned down to pick up an apple that had rolled from the sack. You took a bite without breaking eye contact. He stayed frozen to the spot as you chewed slowly and swallowed.
“My name is Amabel,” you told him. “And this land is not mine, but nor is it yours. My coven has dominion here. Make no mistake, we will protect this land. We will protect every human on it.”
The man’s eyes narrowed at the mention of humans. He stood, sure you weren’t offering violence in that first meeting.
“What was your name before? And what will it be after Amabel?” It was not what you were expecting him to say. “Is that not what you do?” he continued. “Live among the humans, love them, watch them die, then start all over again?” You couldn’t tell if he was taunting you or genuinely asking. His tone was far more disarming than his beauty had been. “Do you not feel alone?”
Your lips parted and your eyes glassed over. He’d trapped you in a truth and to what end, you didn’t know.
A dog’s bark cut through the silence, and you briefly looked out beyond the apple orchard, then back. He was gone.
…
1986
“So shall it be.
So shall it be.
So shall it be.”
If the spell worked a second time, it would likely be of short-term effect yet again. You said as much to the bat, but as he returned on his own, you drew the conclusion he was still looking for help. The spell a second time was all you could offer immediately.
As you held the mirror up, eyes closed, you whispered, “Please don’t run. Please.”
All was silent. You were almost too scared to open your eyes, but you’d not heard the trailer door slam. He was still there.
You both searched each other’s eyes for recognition or explanation or anything even vaguely familiar. Perfect strangers, you thought. Imperfect circumstances.
“I’m sorry,” you told him, still whispering. “I’m sorry it didn’t… work… completely. I can figure this out.”
The man said nothing, tearing his gaze from you to look around the trailer. You watched him for a few seconds more before standing. The man flinched at the movement.
“It’s okay! It’s okay. I’m going to get you something to wear.”
You didn’t have a lot of spare clothes, but one of your old t-shirts would work, and some sweatpants that absolutely would not fit properly.
He was still sitting in the center of the devil’s trap when you walked back out from your bedroom. He took the clothes from your outstretched hands, and you hoped he knew what to do with them.
You turned to the kitchenette, pouring a glass of water with your back to him while he stood up and dressed.
You turned and held the glass out to him. He took it. He looked awkward, skittish. Very much like a bat turned human. Fascinated at his general weirdness, you watched him take a sip and hold the water in his mouth. He looked panicked, yet he swallowed. Almost immediately he started to cough, then he threw the water back up onto your kitchen floor.
“It’s okay,” you tried to reassure him. He was staring down at the liquid, brows pulled together.
In the two seconds it took to grab a cloth from the kitchen sink, the man was gone. The trailer door swung wide open.
You sighed but decided to not go after him. All in all, you considered what happened as progress.
…
The smell was putrid. It seemed both obscene and histrionic to have piled all the corpses in the middle of the road.
For two days in a row, dead raccoons, opossums, cats, and dogs had been found. They’d been attacked, but not really eaten. The residents and guests of Forest Hills were concerned. They were already dealing with so much, and now a rabid animal?
You stood with a few neighbours, watching Michelle boss around a couple of teenage boys, making them find all the corpses.
“Lot of them under your trailer,” she’d said, nodding at you.
“Under it?”
“Yep. Got it boarded up but the little bastards always find a way under there. Lot of room between the trailer and the ground. You don’t hear them?”
You shook your head.
Michelle shrugged. “I’ll get one of the boys to come patch the holes.”
When you’d conversed with neighbours about the horror of it all for an appropriate amount of time, you excused yourself and hurried to inspect your trailer. Around the back, behind some trash cans, you found the hole.
On your hands and knees, you peered into the crawl space. Sitting in the dirt and mud were some clothes. You didn’t need to go any further to know they were yours.
There was a word on the tip of your tongue but you didn’t dare speak it because it couldn’t be. It couldn’t be. He couldn’t be. He wasn’t a demon, but maybe…
No. No, they had been eradicated. The species itself extinct. You’d had a hand in it yourself. There was simply no way.
Back inside your trailer, you paced from the bedroom to the lounge and back again.
Why were you in Hawkins?
What had been calling you there?
A wounded creature?
An enemy in disguise?
Had it all been a trap? A trick. A rouse to bring back the only thing you’d ever truly feared.
You cycled through options. Call Kelsey. Automatic writing to seek guidance from The Witches Who Came Before. Bite the metaphorical bullet and tell your coven what exactly you had done. Run away from Hawkins and pretend none of it had happened.
Sitting on the couch you buried your face in your hands.
No. No, you would not run. You would stay on the path you'd chosen for yourself. You would see this thing through. If a group of children could fight an impossible battle somewhere in an Upside Down Hawkins, you could right this wrong. Whatever that meant.

Reunion
The first step is always the hardest.
That phrase had been spun so many times around Alastor he began to wonder if it was true. It certainly felt that way when he finally conceded to a new deal with the darling princess. To truly take part in her ideas of redemption. Once he found it laughable. But much like that old chestnut, it wore out its humor. When the last of his love's soul slipped through his fingers, he took it for the plausible reality it proved to be.
The truth is, the step itself isn't what makes it hard, it's what comes after. Every step is taken with a goal in mind. A set destination, an end point. But the journey there is a mystery. A dangling question with no set answer. That great unknown is what brings hesitation, with the beginning and end being absolutely certain. Only when one focuses on the end goal can they convince themselves it's attainable. So his first step landed assuredly, but here is where he remained frozen.
Was it really this simple? After everything he had done, the bad and the good, could he move forward? He almost expected a challenge, he anticipated it, yet the path ahead remained as empty as ever. As if it had always waited for him. Waited for him to take that next step. So, hesitantly, he did.
Behind him lay his past. The darkness that enshrouded him and kept him captive, trapped even in his own body. But it also held his friends, the connections he made over countless years, and the ones who helped him on this path to begin with. The thought of them made it even harder to go on. He owed them everything, but they were not his captors. Even now they encouraged him forward, so he took another step.
Before him laid his future. Endless possibilities, so bright it cast aside the gloom of the mystery beyond. As he gazed up into that ethereal light, he felt a swell rise in his chest. It uplifted him and filled him with an almost foreign warmth. Almost. Those next few steps came easier than the ones before.
As he drew closer to the glow ahead, that heat radiated outward, and with it a lifetime of memories. Much like what he had envisioned the first time he died before he was reborn anew. Only this time he saw his life thereafter, and everything that came with it.
The misery he inflicted on others, the years of perpetual torment twisted into his perverse form of entertainment. Their screams weighed heavily on his shoulders and seemingly threatened to slow his step. Where he had practically jogged, he painfully forced one foot in front of the other. As if Hell itself threatened to pull him back down. The weight of everything he had done enough to damn him all over again.
Anguished, nameless faces filled his vision and forced him to a standstill. The ease in the climb had been a ruse, as he suspected, yet even he couldn't have anticipated their protestation. The souls he ensnared shamed him for daring to tread a path not meant for him. Their vitriol quickly grew to a fever pitch, and Alastor couldn't help but agree with them.
Maybe it wasn't redemption in of itself that had been so laughable, but the idea that it could have been meant for him. He, who had delighted in the suffering of others, who had done his share of evil in the land of the living and dead. Alastor could blind himself with the morals he adhered to, but he couldn't blind those cut down by his hand.
His foot slipped down a step, and his smile dipped for the smallest fraction of a second. His eyes darted to the ball of light overhead, flickering like a dying candle. Even now the sight of it brought some meager warmth, only to be doused by the cold truth hissed in his ears. He had come close, but no cigar.
If this was meant to be his fate, then so be it. He had taken the fall before, he would do so once more. Besides, no one would be waiting for him up there, no matter what anyone else told him. Only a couple people came to mind who would even care for his absolution, yet it had been so long even they would have forgotten him by now.
As he tilted back to permit gravity to take him where he always belonged, a clawed hand shot through the wailing spirits and grabbed him. A gust of wind blew away those tormented souls and made Alastor wince. When the last of their shrieks faded to nothing, he looked up at his savior, and his breath caught in his throat.
Great white wings spread out to either side of them; gilded symbols alternated along their length. They led behind an equally white suit and tie, the dress beneath the jacket a deep blue. Although he traded red and black patterns in his fur for white and gold, he could never mistake his closest friend; his ally, and the man he wronged the most. His dear Husker.
Of all the people Alastor expected to see again, Husk had never been one of them, and that shock registered clear on his face. Although they came to better terms the last few years he had been under his employ, Alastor could never bring himself to say what needed to be said. Even when he relinquished his chains after so long, he said nothing. He simply watched in silence as his friend flew away to join the others in paradise. Those far more deserving than him.
After all, what could he say? What words could ever account for the cruelty he inflicted over an entire lifetime? How could he possibly make amends?
As if he had peered into his thoughts, Husk offered him a smirk. "It starts with sorry."
Alastor eyed him warily, suspicious of another trick. He had fallen for this road's deception once already, and he nearly lost hope of ever being reunited with the one he loved most. Of all people, Husk had little reason to see his ascent through. It would be a great irony now, after he failed to do so in the past, that all he desired was an apology.
Even Husk seemed aware of this as he cocked his head at Alastor before he brought him into a tight hug.
"We both made bad deals. But it's over now. You aren't alone anymore."
Alastor remained speechless. He hadn't uttered a word, yet Husk had already forgiven him. Ready to truly put the past behind them to focus on the future. His future. It was a sentiment he didn't deserve. Not when so much had been left unsaid between them.
Hesitantly, he brought his arms around Husk's back and returned the embrace. Through the weaved fabric he felt his downy fur, and it acted as a small source of comfort to his conflicted mind. It released a shuddered breath from his lips, and he finally found his voice.
"I am truly sorry, for everything, dear Husker. I've wanted to tell you this for so long but... pride is a fickle thing, isn't it? I've hung onto that longer than anything else. Let everyone slip through my fingers, Niffty, you... mon ange. I do not deserve this."
He finally admitted it all to him, an apology more wholehearted than anything he had ever given before. Even then it still didn't feel like enough, not that he believed anything could account for two lifetimes of sin. He felt Husk nod against his shoulder as if they shared the same thought.
"Once upon a time, I would have agreed. But it's like you said, pride is a killer. It brought me down lower than I ever thought possible, played me right into your hands. If I never let go of that pride, I don't think I would've ever ended up here."
He paused to let that admission sink in, before he further admitted, "It took some time, but I've learned to forgive ya, Al. Maybe someday, you'll even be able to forgive yourself. But now, I think it's about time you get going. Someone's been waiting a long time for you to get here."
When Husk withdrew from their embrace, Alastor looked past him to find his climb had finished. During their brief reconciliation, Husk had quietly carried him all the way to the top. That small glowing dot on the horizon had expanded to a glorious, eternal view of Heaven's gate. Gilded bars that stood high above him; they stretched to either side as far as the eye could see, seemingly into infinity.
Alastor looked on in awe of the sight, only to have his attention diverted when the doors inlaid between softly swung inwards. Through the small partition that formed, a single figure stepped through. Much like Husk, they dressed in all white, in a beautiful gown akin to that of a bride's. A white boot peeked through its part with each step they took; a golden choker locked around their neck. Unlike Husk, however, their visage had barely changed at all since he saw them last. Although their eyes glistened with sapphire orbs, Alastor could never mistake the appearance of his Angel.
Overwhelmed with what felt like a lifetime of emotions, he didn't know whether to weep at the sight, fall to his knees, run to them, or all three. In that confusion, he looked over at Husk, and the old barcat simply nodded over to the man at the gates. Alastor took that gesture as permission to go to them, and he quickly covered the distance between them in only a few strides. Tears built in the corners of his eyes with each step, and by the time they collided the two lovers wept with immense joy.
They came together as naturally as if they had never been split apart. The feeling of Angel in his arms was nothing short of euphoric. He had made it. As impossible as he would have once believed, he made it. And now that he had him again, he found it hard to let him go.
The feeling was mutual, if Angel's grip around his head was anything to go by. When Alastor finally raised his head just enough to meet Angel's loving gaze, their eyes wet with tears, he choked on a sob.
Angel nodded. "Y'know... red was always your color, but you don't look too bad in white neither."
Upon the remark, Alastor ducked his head to look at himself. Unbeknownst to him, his tattered red suit had changed into a pristine white, just as Angel said. His sleeves free of any muck or grime, and not a speck of blood to be seen on his front. He could only imagine what else about his appearance had changed. Truly a clean slate.
Alastor snorted at the observation before he ducked his head against Angel's chest. "I missed you... so much."
He felt Angel's fingers card through the back of his hair. "I did too. I can't believe you did it, you crazy son of a bitch."
Feeling more jovial, Alastor perked his head with a raised brow. "Are you implying you doubted my success?"
Angel appeared to consider the question for a moment, before he ultimately dropped the act with a smile and shook his head. "No, never."
While he answered half-jokingly, Alastor responded more seriously. "I promised I'd come back to you. Whatever it takes."
Angel teased his lip and nodded. "I know." Then he smirked and quipped, "Took you long enough."
Alastor chortled and slowly threaded his hand with one of Angel's lower ones, their fingers interlocking. "You won't ever have to wait anymore, mon ange. I'll be by your side, forever."
Angel shuddered a breath as he took Alastor's head in his upper hands. "I'd like that more than anything."
His vow reciprocated, Alastor's eyes lidded as Angel lowered his head and took his lips in his own. Soft and sweet, it marked the end to their long time apart, and the beginning of their new eternity together.

So, I haven't written fanfic in a long time, and it's been even longer since I've posted it. But, oh my god, this fucking AU--
Do you know how long it's been since a piece of media has captivated my ADHD brain into doing more than drawing or just thinking about it really hard?? And then for an offshoot of that media to rot my brain just as badly??
Anyway, all this to say, @somerandomdudelmao I love your AU and I literally cannot stop thinking about it, it's consumed my waking thoughts. Donnie and Leo's reunion has me in a death grip.
(Apologies for any spelling/grammar errors, wrote this on my phone with very little sleep.)
Donnie is going to kill him all over again when this is over.
Mumbling, cursing, Donatello walks the surface of the spiritual lake, stray drops of glowing blue falling up around him. It's been hours. At least, it feels like it's been hours. Donnie knows time dilation is one hell of a drug, that what feels like hours to him may only be minutes–seconds, even–to anyone on the outside. He also knows that he's never had an ounce of patience for pointless tedium in his life, which is really not helping. That does not, however, negate the fact that his feet hurt, and it's fucking cold, and no matter how far he walks there's no sign of Leo–
Stubborn, selfless, reckless, candle-in-the-wind, dum-dum Leonardo!
Of course he'd be the hardest to resurrect! Donatello isn't sure why he had expected otherwise. His twin has always been the most grating individual he's ever met; Leo lived to spite him. It only makes sense that he'd make Donnie jump through hoop after hoop to save him. First his soul being barely more than an ember, weak against even the barest breath and aggravatingly flighty, and now this.
Growling, Donnie hunches slightly, staring ahead into the endless distance.
“Leo!” He screams, the sound echoing far and forever in the void. “Leo, you moron, where the hell are you?!”
Leo doesn't answer. Donnie pretends this doesn't scare him. He leans into the anger, letting the heat of it push him forward, urge him on. He can't be afraid. He's done this before, he's pulled their brothers from death's icy grip, given them a second chance. It's worked perfectly, up til now, and it's going to keep working despite Leonardo's attempts at driving Donnie insane.
Donnie's feet hit the lake harder as he stomps on, and on, and on, eyes darting frantically around for a shadow, a flicker, a sign, something. He calls for Leo until his voice is hoarse. Until his feet are so far past numb he's circled around to feeling them again.
Until Donatello realizes he can feel something under his feet.
He thinks it's the numbness creeping back in again, turning his nerves fuzzy and oversensitive (it wouldn't be the first time). But, no, he realizes, as something pushes up from underneath. Donnie stops dead. So does the thing below.
No. Not a thing.
Sparks flare to life at the back of his brain, familiar yet faint. It's a ghost of that feeling, the connecting thread between him and his other half, that twin sense Leo never shut up about and Donnie always maintained had no scientific evidence to prove. Donatello hasn't felt it since the day he died. Yet, tremulous though it may be, it's here now, bidding him to stop.
The breath vanishes from his lungs as he looks down.
There, amidst the quicksilver finish of the lake, is–
“Leo!”
His brother looks up at him. Or rather, looks up through him. Leo doesn't seem to recognize him. He stares, still as stone. Their twin sense fills with static. Donnie feels sick to his stomach. Clenching his hands, Donnie takes a steadying breath. Pressure begins to build behind his eyes. He's there, he's right there, but he still feels so far away. Donnie wonders for a moment if it's really Leo he's seeing down there.
“I miss you, Leo,”he says, though he's not sure why.
Leo copies him, mouth moving but no sound coming out. Curious. When Donnie moves, so does he, a perfect reflection, right down to the tilt of his head. Donatello kneels. So does Leo. He presses his hands against the glassy surface of the lake. So does Leo. He blocks Donnie, no matter how he moves, keeping himself on his side and Donnie on his. Just like all those games they'd play when they were hatchlings. Donnie hated those games then. He hates them even more in this moment, because on top of being annoying, now he's actively preventing Donnie from doing anything to save him.
“You are not making it easier, you know,”Donatello hisses, irritation replacing fascination.
Gritting his teeth, Donnie presses harder against the water, feeling the tension begin to give way under his right hand. The hand, he notes, Leonardo is missing.
There's nothing to block him there.
Reeling back, Donatello's fist hits the surface with enough force to send shards of glassy cerulean flying. It sinks further down, but not enough to get through. Leo's interference again, he knows. After staving off the sweet oblivion of death for so many years, fighting a decade-and-a-half in a losing battle, he's tired. Leo doesn't want to leave. He's supposed to be here, resting. This is home. That's what the twin sense tells him.
“It's not home,”Donnie grunts, punching the ice again. “Home-” Punch. “Is waiting-” Punch. “For you-” Punch. “Right here!”
Blessedly, Donatello's hand breaks through the icy surface. It's fucking freezing. Painful cold jolts up Donnie's arm into his shoulder, the shock nearly shutting down his nerves. He pushes through. He forces his arm deeper in, willing his fingers to move and close around Leonardo's scarf. Donnie's knuckles turn a startlingly light mint with the strength of his grip.
And he pulls.
He drags Leo, his twin, his brother, the other half of his soul, up and up from the depths of the water. The current shifts beneath his feet, waves lashing against his legs as it threatens to pull both him and Leonardo back under. Still, he keeps pulling. Donnie grimaces at the sharp sting of frost. Leo mimics him.
“Come here, you dumbass!”
Leo sneers up at Donnie. Rain pelts his skin, icy droplets pouring up in a deluge strong enough to nearly knock Donatello off his feet.
“You're coming with me and that's not up for discussion!"
The lake wants to take them both. It didn't want to let go of Leo, and now it thinks it can bring Donatello down with him if it tries. What it doesn't know is that the only thing that can stop Donatello is Donatello. He didn't come this far to give up now.
He didn't fight and claw and rage against all known laws of the universe to come back without his brother.
Both hands close around Leo's scarf. Then his shoulders, his sides, until Donnie's arms are under his, gripping tight around his shell. Donatello slams his foot against the lake for leverage, hauling Leo free of the water's frigid embrace.
“FUCK YOU, DEATH! I'M TAKING HIM!”
The water ripples in reply, and suddenly, it lets go. Gravity shifts. Everything tilts, sending the brothers spinning, dizzy, up–down?–into the dark.
Through it all, Donatello keeps hold of Leonardo's hand.
He made the mistake of letting go once. He's not about to make it again.

A/N: uhh rare pomegranate ink update ig
“You really don’t have to do this,” Yuta said, staring at the envelope in your hands so intensely you wondered if he thought he could burn it with his glare.
“How am I supposed to reach grade one status if I never go on any supervised missions? It’ll be fine. I doubt the higher ups or Gojo would let me be with someone as dumb and useless as Naoya, and worst comes to worst, there’s always Tullia Ex Machina,” you said, referring to how Tullia had drank your poisoned blood so that you could survive the attack from the cursed spirit you and Naoya had had to fight during your last supervised mission.
“Don’t rely on that!” Yuta said.
“I was just kidding. But, really, I’m sure it’ll be fine,” you said, patting him on the shoulder and then tearing the envelope open. You were surprised that the mission directions had come by mail instead of digitally, as they usually did, but maybe whoever you were reporting to was old fashioned.
“Who’s taking you?” he said. You actually gagged aloud as you read over the letter.
“Fucking Principal Gakuganji!” you said. Yuta made a similar face to yours.
“I’m sorry to hear it,” he said. The principal of the Kyoto school was nothing like Principal Yaga; in fact, Principal Gakuganji had been one of the ones pushing the hardest for Yuta’s execution, back when he still had Rika. You knew him very well as the representation of everything you hated about jujutsu society and the higher ups, and as you were trying to break free from that whole scene, it was all in all not the greatest match up.
“Whatever, I guess I’ll just have to deal with it,” you said. “Would you say this is better or worse than Naoya?”
“Hm, probably better, if only because Gakuganji respects the hierarchies of jujutsu society at least a bit. He probably won’t let you get hurt, because the Kamos and your own family would be furious. Naoya’s a Zenin, so he was at least able to get away with a little bit due to his family’s protection, but Gakuganji can’t claim the same. That said, both are annoying. Why don’t they just let you go with Principal Yaga or Gojo?” Yuta said.
“I actually don’t know,” you said. “I mean, Nanami and Kaito aren’t allowed to supervise me because they’re the ones that gave my recommendation, but there’s no reason why Gojo or Principal Yaga couldn’t. Even Kusakabe, who’s now our direct teacher, can technically take me along with him if he wants. Those three just aren’t able to recommend me for promotion, but since I’ve already gotten the recommendation…”
“Weird,” Yuta said. “I can ask them about it while you’re gone.”
“I’d appreciate it if you would, thanks,” you said. “Knowing my luck, it’s probably some political nonsense blocking them.”
“When will those dumb old men leave you alone?” Yuta sighed.
“Probably never,” you said. “It’s sad, but as long as I have the capability to heal others, they won’t let me go. I’m too valuable to their cause, and because my family is so entrenched in their power structure, they think I’ll eventually fold and join them.”
Something uncomfortable arose on Yuta’s face. “By the way, speaking of such things…”
“Hm? Is something the matter?” you said. He began to fiddle with the two rings on his finger, a nervous habit he had picked up in recent times.
“Y/N,” he said, and then suddenly he was gripping your hand so tightly it was a wonder it did not break. “If I had to go somewhere far away, would you break up with me?”
“Huh? Why are you asking me that?” you said, taken aback. “That’s not really related to what we were talking about earlier at all.”
“Just answer. Please,” he said.
“No, I don’t think so. I mean, if you went somewhere far away and stopped talking to me entirely, I guess it would happen naturally…but I would miss you very dearly, and I would not find a new man until I knew for certain that you did not want me anymore,” you said.
“Oh,” he said. “That’s a relief.”
“Is there a reason you’re asking me that, or are we just at the point in our relationship that we ask each other weird questions? Because if so, I have to know: would you still love me if I was a worm?” you said.
“Obviously,” he said. “And no, it’s not hypothetical. Gojo wants to send me to Africa.”
You paused, tilting your head so that you could really look at him and discern whether he was telling the truth or not. His expression was carefully neutral, only barely hinting at the despair broiling beneath the surface, and he was such a bad liar that you knew this was not a falsehood.
“Africa’s a big continent,” you said. “Did he specify a country? At least a region?”
“No,” Yuta said.
“He wouldn’t,” you said with a sigh. “How long will you be gone?”
“I don’t know. I’m supposed to train with some sorcerer contact he has in the area, don’t ask me which area, I don’t know, and I guess it’s until that sorcerer thinks I’ve learned all I can from him,” he said.
“I see,” you said. “And you’re worried I’ll find someone new while you’re in some as-of-yet-unknown-African country?”
“A little bit,” he admitted.
“I wouldn’t do that to you,” you said with a frown.
“It’s not that I think you would, it’s just…I am afraid,” he said.
“You shouldn’t be,” you said. He gave you one of his looks, those wounded-deer ones that made you want to hold him tightly and tell him it would be alright, but since you had no idea when you would be interrupted by someone or another, you settled for squeezing his hand. “Really, Yuta, I’m being honest. I know you’re scared, but distance is the easiest opponent we’ve had to face by far. What is an ocean to Suguru Geto?”
He let out a surprised yet delighted laugh. “Well! I’d say it’s something.”
“But not more than we can face. We can video call every day, and you can tell me all about how much you’re learning and all of the sunshine you’re enjoying,” you said, using your other hand to poke him in the ribs. “You worry too much. It will be fun! Think of it positively.”
“What will you do while I’m away?” he said, though he was not nearly as morose anymore.
“I’ll train,” you said. “Exorcise curses. Spar with Maki. Complain about the higher ups. Get enough supervised missions in so that I can become an official grade 1 sorcerer.”
“Do you think I should go?” he said.
“Of course I think you should go. I will miss you, but you can’t pass up an opportunity like this,” you said. “Maybe I’ll be a grade 1 by the time we meet again!”
“I bet you will be,” he said. “You’re the coolest sorcerer ever.”
“Well, if that’s the case, then I probably shouldn’t keep Principal Gakuganji waiting for too long. There’s no sense in making him cranky — I doubt he’s pleased with my promotion as it is,” you said.
“Good luck,” he said, glancing at the door and then leaning over to press a kiss to your cheek. “Don’t let him bully you.”
“Of course not,” you said. “And you should get to packing. You don’t want to forget stuff, and I’m sure if you know about the trip, it means you have to go soon. Gojo…is not the type to give advance warning for just about anything.”
“You’re right,” Yuta said with a sour face. “See you later.”
“See you!” you said, humming to yourself as you headed towards the meet-up spot Principal Gakuganji had indicated in the letter. You still thought it was a little ridiculous that he insisted on communicating via letter for something so important, but you supposed it was just one of those idiosyncrasies that old people tended to have.
“Y/N L/N,” Principal Gakuganji said in that wheezing voice of his that you so detested. You fought back a frown, wishing that for once you could have someone supervising you that you actually liked, or at the least tolerated.
“Principal Gakuganji,” you said. He motioned for you to follow him, which you did your best to do without completely overtaking him. As expected, he moved at a sedate pace, and you had to purposefully shorten your stride so that he could keep up, which you would’ve rolled your eyes at if you hadn’t already made an enemy of your first supervisor.
“You’ve given that young man Naoya a lot of trouble,” he said.
“He’s the one who’s given me trouble!” you snapped. “I almost died because of him! I would’ve died, if it weren’t for Tullia. How can you say that I’m the troublesome one?”
“We both know he wouldn’t have let you actually die. Here you are, perfectly fine and going on your second mission, and his entire future’s been ruined. After all, he’s been suspended, and even once the suspension’s complete, it’ll take a while for him to regain people’s respect,” Principal Gakuganji said.
“He doesn’t deserve respect. He knowingly put a young sorcerer at risk, and for what? Personal amusement? He should be expelled from jujutsu society, if you ask me. Why is it that it would be a greater crime for me to cheat on Noritoshi than for Naoya to try and kill me?” you said as you entered the mission site and Principal Gakuganji put down a veil. It was a small school, reminiscent of the one where you had met Yuta, and the reminder only made you feel even more irritated with the principal and with the situation at large. How dare he demand that you feel sympathy for Naoya? It ought to be the other way around.
“You are weak,” Principal Gakuganji said. “You have relatively little to offer jujutsu society. That is to say, you are expendable — besides your massive aptitude for healing, which you refuse to tap into. It’s strange, you know, that you are so mediocre at fighting yet you insist on contributing in that way instead of giving in to your natural place in society. Then, to add insult to injury, you have taken one of the actually talented sorcerers out of commission in your desperate attempt to prove yourself. In truth, Miss L/N, I believe you should quit now before you get someone else killed. Maybe you don’t care about Naoya, or about me, but what about your precious friends? What if your incompetence leads to one of their deaths? That special-grade freak boy. The American girl. The panda or the Inumaki heir. What about Maki Zenin? If it was her who died, would you care?”
“Dissection,” you said coldly, hurling the needle towards Principal Gakuganji. His eyes widened, but it flew harmlessly above him and into the heart of the curse which had arisen behind him. The curse exploded, and the veil shattered as the being it had been made to contain was exorcised. “Principal Gakuganji, you should pay more attention to your surroundings. Have you been checked for dementia recently? Perhaps you should be. After all, anyone in their right mind would know that I was promoted for a reason.”
“Miss L/N!” Principal Gakuganji said. “You would do well to revere your elders.”
“And you would do well to know not to talk about them like that. I don’t want to hear it,” you said. “The next time you mention my friends — the next time you even dare to say Maki’s name — I will aim my needle a little lower, and I will not miss.” You turned to leave before pausing and looking back at him, bowing slightly. “Thank you for accompanying me on this mission. I am sure that my act of saving your life and exorcising the curse alone will be enough to earn your recommendation, and I look forward to serving alongside you as a grade one sorcerer one day.”
That summer was busy. Yuta left, but it was such a non-event that you almost did not comprehend it. You wanted to miss him, but you did not have the time to, not when the higher-ups were working you to the bone in an attempt to delay your promotion. The same was happening to Todo — you both were far too young to be traditionally considered Grade 1 sorcerers, so they were doing everything they could to stop you from advancing in the ranks before you promised to be compliant.
But compliance was not in Todo’s nature, and it was no longer the cloak you wished to don. Whether by luck or skill or particularly understanding mentors, you and Todo continued to grow closer and closer to that one final goal of yours, the one where you finally joined the upper echelons of jujutsu society. Recommendation after recommendation, they began to stack up, and it became something like a game for those inclined to betting. Who would be promoted first? You or him?
Maybe that was why you were called together to jujutsu headquarters, a joke by the higher ups, just another attempt in their long history at pissing sorcerers off. Or maybe it was like a kind of poetry, that you had been recommended together and thus would be promoted together. Either way, two weeks before the term began, you and Todo became official first grade sorcerers, making you the youngest in recent history.
“It seems our competition has come to a close,” Todo said as you walked together, you casually sipping on the drink he had bought for you.
“I guess that’s true,” you said.
“There’s no goal for us anymore. What do we do with ourselves? I don’t want our rivalry to end!” he said. You tossed your empty cup in the trash can and frowned when you saw he was furiously wiping away tears.
“Aw, Todo, there’s always goals. Just because we’re Grade 1 sorcerers doesn’t mean we’re at our peaks yet, which means we still have a long way to go before we can put our rivalry to rest,” you said. He burst into sobs, so you reached up and hugged him, patting his back.
“Y/N, I am so proud to — to call a woman like you my counterpart!” he wailed, picking you up and holding you tightly.
“I’m proud to call you my counterpart, too,” you said, unfortunately well-used to his antics by now and even more well-used to the strange looks you always garnered from passersby.
Todo was a little strange, but at the end of the day, he was the kind of person you knew you could rely on. You had learned very quickly that such people were few and far in between, and so you had resolved to cling on to him with all of your might. For his part, he was delighted to have someone who entertained his antics, so he was fiercely loyal to you, and his affection was only outweighed by his zeal in trying to defeat you.
“How has Okkotsu been, anyways?” he said. You smiled slightly.
“He’s been very good,” you said. Todo elbowed you in the side; coming from him, it all but bowled you over, or at least it would’ve if you hadn’t expected it and braced yourself for the impact.
“He’ll be back to compete in the exchange event, won’t he? I need to redeem myself for last year,” he said.
“You don’t want to redeem yourself for your loss against me?” you said. He grinned.
“Of course I’ll do that as well, but since you’re my rival, it only makes sense that you’ll beat me every now and then. There’s no shame in losing to you,” he said.
“There’s not really any shame in losing to Yuta, either, I mean he is a special grade sorcerer,” you said. Todo shook his head.
“That’s exactly it. If I can defeat him, then I will truly have proven myself in a way that no one can argue with,” he said.
“I think you’re out of luck, unfortunately,” you said. “He’s not going to be back for a while, I’m afraid.”
“Make him return. Use your special love powers or something to bring him back!” Todo said. You gave him a dull look and wished Yuta had never named you as his type of woman back during the last exchange event. Recently, Todo had figured out that it was not just that you were Yuta’s type but that you were actually together, and ever since then, he had been relentless in teasing you about it.
“I don’t have special love powers, so you’re just going to have to be content with fighting me and the rest of the first and second years,” you said.
“Not even the third years?” Todo said, aghast. You shook your head.
“Nope, they were all suspended, remember? I have no idea what they’re up to now, but whatever it is, they won’t be at the event,” you said. “That’s why we’re going to have to drag the first years into it. Whoever they are.”
“You’re going to be at such a disadvantage,” Todo said with a disapproving scowl. “Fighting with people you barely know! Normally, you get at least a year to become acquainted with your classmates and team members, so you understand their strengths and weaknesses intimately, but this year, you’ll be fighting with first years! Not only will you not know their skills, they themselves won’t!”
“It worked well enough for Yuta and I last year,” you said. “Don’t forget that a couple of first years beat you back then.”
“Yeah, true,” Todo said, and then he waggled his eyebrows suggestively. “But I’m sure the two of you knew each other more than intimately by that point.”
“Shut up,” you muttered, smacking his bicep, which had all the effect of slapping a rock wall in that it probably hurt you more than it hurt him. “That’s not true. We were just the better team then, and we’ll be the better team again this year. Even without Yuta, you all are going to have to contend with Maki.”
“Maki Zenin?” Todo said. “I’m told she’s a weakling.”
“Whoever told you that was wrong,” you said, though without the typical anger you felt when people spoke about Maki in that way. Todo was, if anything, a fair man, and you knew he wouldn’t make such assumptions about Maki if he actually knew her. He could only parrot what he had heard until this point, and it wasn’t his fault that the only people in Kyoto who knew about her hated her.
“I’ll take your word for it,” he said. “And I will be prepared to fight this woman that you think so highly of.”
“As if you’ll get a chance,” you said with a grin. “Remember, I’ll be there, too. Who cares about the rest of the participants? They’ll duke it out as they do every year. The fight to watch, the fight that’ll determine the match — that’ll be ours.”
Todo nodded. “True. It’s been far too long since we’ve faced off. The thought of our next battle will carry me through the days until we meet again.”
“We can still meet, idiot,” you said, rolling your eyes affectionately. “I expect you to visit when you can and buy me dinner.”
“My, my,” Todo said. “Demanding!”
“It’s the price you pay for having lost to me at the exchange event. If you win the next one, I’ll pay for you for the rest of the year,” you said, offering him your hand. He took it and shook it firmly.
“Very well! And if you win again, things will continue as they have?” he said, referring to your habit of making him buy you something every time the two of you hung out.
“It sounds like a deal to me,” you said.
“Then to me as well,” he said.
“Since we just made that deal, I would like for you to know that I’m hungry,” you said.
“I just bought you a drink!” Todo said. You batted your eyelashes.
“It’s the price which a loser must pay,” you said.
“Fine,” he grumbled out. “But only because I’m hungry, too.”
“Yay!” you cheered.
“I’m going to drain your bank account once you lose the next event, by the way!”
“As if I’d ever lose to you!”
Returning to the school after the summer break was more like coming home than leaving it in the first place had ever been. The instant you saw your room, still exactly the same as it had been when you had last shut the door on it, you almost burst into tears. Tossing the curtains open, you closed your eyes, allowing the sunshine to warm your skin, the pleasant scent of the candles you always lit filling your nose again for the first time in a while.
“Someone’s happy to be back,” a familiar voice said. You opened your eyes and spun on your heel, beaming when you saw who it was.
“Tullia!” you said, racing over and throwing your arms around her, an embrace which she reciprocated just as tightly. Shortly after the entire debacle with Naoya and Elakshi, Tullia had gone back to America to spend time with her family. She had only flown back into Tokyo yesterday, so this was your first time seeing her since her departure, and a knot in your stomach that you had not even known existed unraveled at the reunion.
“Hey, Y/N,” she said. “I saw you walk into your room, but I wanted to give you a minute to settle in before I stopped by. Maki and the others just went to eat, but I told them I’d wait for you.”
“Thanks,” you said. “Should we go meet up with them, then?”
“Sounds good to me,” she said.
“So, how was your summer, Miss Beach Body?” you said. She grinned, subconsciously running a hand through hair highlighted by the sun’s rays and the salt of the ocean.
“It was great,” she said. “I just spent the entire time relaxing. You’d be jealous of the amount of books I read while lying in the sand.”
“I’m quite sure I would be,” you said with a frown, thinking back to the utter lack of relaxation you had had this summer before internally shrugging. Next summer, you would take time off for sure. And by then Yuta would be back — maybe you both could go on a vacation together.
“At least you’re finally a grade 1 sorcerer!” she said. “That’s so official sounding. I can’t believe one of my best friends is a grade 1 sorcerer.”
“And one of the others is a semi-grade 1,” you said. Tullia’s face lit up.
“Toge! I forgot about that! I’ll have to congratulate him on the promotion,” she said. “That’s so awesome. Maybe he’ll be official, soon, too.”
“It’s likely,” you said. “He’s a really talented sorcerer.”
The corners of her lips curved up slightly as she stared at the ground. “He is, isn’t he?”
“You aren’t far behind,” you said, making a mental note of the development. “As long as you perform as well at the next exchange event as you did last Christmas, you’ll definitely get enough recommendations to be promoted.”
“You can count on it,” she said, clenching her fist. “You know, I talked a lot with my parents while I was at home. I was so hurt when they made me come here, but now — now I understand why they did it. I’m not so angry at them anymore. I just want to make them proud, and if becoming a first grade sorcerer is how I can prove that I’m not a waste, then that’s what I’ll do.”
“You’re not a waste either way,” you said, wondering how productive her conversation with her parents had actually been, based on what she was saying, “But I’ll support you in whatever you do.”
“Thanks, Y/N,” she said. You paused as you reached the wing of the school where the teachers’ offices were, and then you turned to Tullia.
“Do you mind if I duck in here really quickly?” you said. She let out a laugh, likely knowing exactly what your business was in the part of the school that you rarely visited.
“Not at all. Do you want me to wait?” she said. You shook your head.
“No, go ahead without me,” you said. “You have someone to congratulate, after all.”
Her cheeks turned pink, and she opened her mouth to protest before shutting it again and nodding firmly, giving you a thumbs up.
“I’ll do that,” she said.
“See you soon!” you said, waving at her before turning and heading in the opposite direction, first walking and then running towards the office you knew would have its door slightly ajar, music wafting into the hallway as its owner worked — maybe it would be Taylor Swift, he had really been getting into her the last you had heard.
“You got that long hair, slicked back, white t-shirt! And I got that — Y/N?” Gojo stopped singing and yelped in surprise when you burst into his office, his stack of papers falling to the ground and fluttering about everywhere. You took no heed of them, leaping over the ones that seemed particularly important and crashing into him in excitement.
“Gojo!” you said. “I’m a grade 1 sorcerer now!”
“Yes, you are!” he said, ruffling your hair as you leaned against his chest, cognizant of the fact that he had turned his Infinity off at the last moment to catch you and feeling a burst of affection towards him for the fact. “However, you know I knew that already, right?”
“But this is the first time I’ve gotten to see you in person since it happened,” you explained. “I wanted to tell you myself.”
“Of course,” he said. “I’m very proud of you.”
It was nice to hear that from him. Even though Gojo wasn’t directly your teacher anymore, he was still the man who had helped you become a sorcerer, the one who had rescued you from your destiny as nothing more than Noritoshi’s wife. He was like your older brother, so for him to say that he was proud of you made you feel uncharacteristically pleased.
“It’s been so long since I've seen you last,” you said. “I wish the higher ups wouldn’t always send you and Yuta away so far. It doesn’t seem fair.”
“That’s what happens when you’re the strongest,” he said with a long-suffering sigh, stooping over to gather up the papers he had dropped and pressing the pause button on his phone. “Have the two of you stayed in touch?”
“Yes, naturally,” you said, sitting down in the extra seat across from him. “We talk on the phone almost every day. But it’s not the same. I miss him. It’s nice to be seeing everyone else again, but it also feels wrong, because he should be here too.”
“You’ll get to see him again soon,” Gojo assured him. “He’s not in Africa forever.”
“Speaking of,” you said with a frown. “You know Africa isn’t a monolith, right? There’s, like, so many countries and regions in the continent. Do you even know which one he’s in?”
“Obviously I do. Miguel told me to be as vague as possible when referring to his location, though, to avoid leading curse users to his village,” he said. “That’s why I just say he’s in Africa.”
“Oh, that…actually makes sense,” you allowed. You supposed even Gojo had his intelligent and considerate moments every now and then.
“Thank you,” he said dryly, obviously not at all grateful for your lack of faith in him. Despite this, he slid a cup of tea across his desk, nodding at it before settling back in his own chair, pushing his papers neatly aside and resting his chin in his hands. You picked it up and blew on the surface, the steam billowing away from you until the tea was cool enough for you to take a sip.
“It’s good,” you said when it was obvious that he was waiting for your approval. He smiled slightly.
“That’s good,” he said. “How have you been, Y/N?”
“I've been well enough,” you said. He hummed in thought.
“I’m glad to hear it,” he said. “Still friends with Maki?”
“Maki? Of course I am,” you said. “I’ll always be friends with her.”
He swallowed. “I hope that’s the case.”
“Do you think we won’t be?” you said, put out by his response. To your further chagrin, he did not correct you immediately, mulling your question over for a moment.
“The future is unpredictable,” he said. “That said, I think it will take a lot for the two of you to break apart. I don’t see it happening anytime soon.”
“It won’t happen at all,” you said stubbornly. “Yuta and Maki and Tullia and Toge and Panda and I are going to be friends for the rest of our lives.”
“You’re right,” he said, and then he exhaled heavily. “Ignore me. Sometimes I say things without really meaning them. This is one of those times; I’m just reminiscing, that's all.”
“Alright,” you said. Then, tentatively, you set down your cup and reached out your hands so that you could place them atop his own, half-thinking that he’d keep his Infinity on and you’d be stopped in the process. But he did not. “You always turn your Infinity off for me, don’t you? Why is that?”
“I don’t see you as a threat,” he said. “Maybe it’s not that I turn it off for you but that I turn it on for everything else.”
“I see,” you said. A moment passed before you spoke again. “Do you miss —?”
“No,” he said instantly. “That’s a foolish thing to think, much less say aloud. Why would I?”
“He was your best friend,” you said. “Principal Yaga mentioned it during one of the missions he supervised me on. It’s not foolish to believe you’d miss him. If I lost Maki like that, I’d still miss her.”
“I’m fine,” Gojo said, and then he pulled his hands away from you and stood up. “Enough talking about me. There’s someone I’d like for you to meet.”
“Really?” you said, mirroring his actions and following him out the door. “Who?”
His expression morphed into a devilish grin. “The boy I’ve been telling you about since the day I met you, of course!”
“Oh no,” you said, dread creeping up your spine. “Don’t tell me you’re taking me to meet who I think you’re taking me to meet!”
“I think I am taking you to meet who you think I’m taking you to meet!” he said cheerfully. “That’s right, after all of this time, I’m finally introducing you to Megumi Fushiguro!”

An Icy Reception
(ahhh all the GxK Abraxas discussions made me want to pitch in with something- so here's an Abraxas retelling of the scene where Godzilla and Kong crash down into the Hollow Earth and are on their way to fight Skar. Now with an extra helping of pain and agony!)
"Don't blame yourself."
A rather strange first thing for his Queen to tell him after being apart for months. She had just been down here with Abraxas, Kong, and Rodan- meeting that girl who had some kind of connection to her. Then she returned topside into the desert to meet him, Tiamat, and Dagon. A short reunion followed by a hastily made plan of attack ensued. He and Kong would act as Vanguard whilst Tiamat and Abraxas bring up the rear, with the remaining fliers acting as air support. Skar's army was reportedly vast, and they'd need to thin their numbers while Goji and Kong focused on the main threat. Tia was still injured from the energy exchange Godzilla preformed with her- the same ritual she additionally preformed on his brother a millennia ago.
But Godzilla wasn't thinking of him. He tried not to. He didn't like how it made him feel. He's lost hundreds of hours of sleep to anxiety driven bouts worrying about what could've happened to him. It was disgraceful- disgusting- his reputation would be shattered if any of his subjects safe for Mothra knew about that- and even she only thinks it happened a few rare times, not every night for months.
He's falling through inverted gravity only for a brief moment before crashing into the rock of the Hollow Earth. Not a moment to waste- he leaps up from the rubble with an announcing roar before he begins his charge in the direction he smells the Skarred Scum. Dust all around as he hears the ape just on his heels roar too- their opening battle cry.
Then he smells something else. A settled snowfield… a hint of vanilla… his brother…
Home.
The dust clears and his gaze meets hers- his legs stop responding and the roar dies in his throat. He's aware only of the ground rumbling as Kong rushes past him and the pounding of his chest- previously in determination but now in shock. He can't feel anything as he sees her.
As well as that thin, orange furred bastard on her back- holding the axe made of his kins' flesh.
She sees him too- and Godzilla can see only utter panic begin to set in. Her fear is so palpable he feels it in his bones.
Shimo does not show fear. Ever.
Through the greatest hardship, the hardest battles, tales spun told never of an Ice Queen who showed anything but the utmost resolve and dedication. She never had anything to fear, not with Ozzy by her side. He similarly did not. And together, their presence meant Goji would never come to harm. They were always there for him- no matter what he did, no matter what stupid fight he picked, no matter how upset his brother got at his stupidity, no matter if he gave a poor performance when sparring with her, they were always there. That was his family. Ozymandias and Shimo.
Family… The only two he ever loved for centuries. All each other's rock. Mother loathed him, father didn't care for him, his siblings made him hate himself. Shimo offered him a hand up, a path away from the disgraceful runt into a force of nature. A loving and nurturing- but strict- touch. Ozzy's lessons were ones he wouldn't come to appreciate until he was much older, like he was when he vanished, lessons that taught him to love and forgive. He was still working on that but now saw the value in them. He can't help but remember each time he lost to her, and the few times he won. Her smile was so warm you'd forget her epithet. She was so warm it made Goji and Ozzy forget. The times she'd let Goji get close to her, wrap around him with her ginormous body, teach him- other kinds of lessons, and the times Goji would find her and his brother together. Curled up in the fluffy snow, Ozzy's head under her's, their tails intertwined, Shimo leaving kisses upon his tired head, his brother never wanting to let go even though duty bound him to do so…
Her look of terror invokes something deep inside Godzilla from his days as a young hatchling- a guttural fear that something is so horribly wrong. She'd never made a face like this, but if she did- Goji would be terrified. Before the reality of the situation can fully set in, she acts first- Godzilla sees her buck to try and throw the ape off so she can run- escape- anything, but Skar pulls something from his shoulder- a chain of bone with a small blue crystal at the end. It alights- and agony erupts in her.
A great fire roars across her scales- like superheated metal to be marked like cattle, only it's every last one of her scales. Godzilla can feel it- see it. Somehow, the crystal was inverting the temperature of her other spines, burning obedience into her. She digs her head into the ground- resisting harder than she ever has. She. Will. Not. Hurt. Him. Unfortunately- it's all futile- and only serves to heighten her and Godzilla's respective agonies. The last thing she sees before her vision goes white with submission is Godzilla- shaking like he was a hatchling in the cold- liquid quickly filling his now pink-lined eyes.
He looks so much like Ozzy now…
Her eyes change into a glowing white- devoid of self, of life. Only a beast remains, to be commanded to slaughter.
Seeing Dagon and realizing what had become of his father hurt him in a way he didn't even know he could be hurt. It was like a whip being taken directly to his heart- it was a crushing, suffocating feeling that made his stomach churn. But it was still his father- the father who ultimately didn't care much for him anyways.
Nothing; no amount of pain, preparation, or apathy could've prepared him for this. Nothing.
His heart seizes, his muscles start to contract, his lip quivers, he feels bile rise into the back of his throat and his stomach start to lurch in nausea. His vision blurs and he has no idea where he is for a moment. He brings a claw to his head and loses his balance. Before he can hit the ground and curl up into a ball for the rest of his life, something grabs him and starts to steady him. Godzilla feels a metal arm on his side and a furred one grab the side of his head to hold him up. His visions starts to unblur where he can see the face of Kong, something unreadable on his features. He's confused, completely befuddled by what had just happened to Godzilla. He thinks that he had been attacked by some invisible force until he sees the tears in his eyes.
Kong almost staggers himself seeing this. He didn't even know that was biologically possible- and even if it was this was Godzilla. The most feared of the Titans, the King, the monster in his own nightmares. It throws Kong for a loop- but his knee jerk reaction when Godzilla tries to turn away is to follow his gaze. Kong can't help but see him as a creature in pain- one that needs help.
"Are you ok?"
The ape's voice barely reaches him. Godzilla turns again to look at Shimo, and it all lurches again. It was her. How could it be her? She vanished- so, so long ago. Even Ozzy could never find her. Is this what happened? Is this where she's been? Trapped in the earth and enduring that unimaginable treatment from that psychopath?? Just when he feels he's going to throw up looking at her, Kong's arm yanks his head to look into his eyes.
"Hey, don't look at them. Steady yourself, focus on me, what's wrong?"
He puts his claws on Kong's shoulder and tries. He breathes heavily and slowly, ducking his head down and willing his body to stop trembling. He only finds solace in the memory of Mothra up top…
Don't blame yourself.
He takes his arm and wipes his eyes.
"Gojira, what is wrong?"
He steels himself and looks back towards the apes- towards Skar's shitting-eating grin from having this effect on the King of the Monsters.
"That bastard has my family."
It was now Kong's turn to seize- his heartrate accelerating as he realizes who Shimo could be to Godzilla.
Family. Kong sees the Little One- and his own parents.
He remembers how it felt when they were taken from him- and for the first time, he and Godzilla are on exactly the same wavelength. Kong refuses to let another be robbed on their family- and Godzilla swears an oath to never let her suffer another day under him. The portal above them resonates and out flies Mothra and Rodan. The time to fight was now- and Godzilla charges ahead again with Kong right on his tail.
---
Haha, nice! Interesting how Godzilla (somehow) absorbing Tiamat's DNA turns into a ritual of sorts that previously happened with Ozymandias. This brings up questions such as, what are the parameters of the ritual? Can any combination of Titans perform it or does there need to be a natural synergy of sorts? Love that family is the thing that really brings Goji and Kong to a true understanding; for all their differences, family is important to both of them.

for the character ask game: Vernon Roche
i gotta think about this! thank you
first impression: i actually remember this pretty well because witcher 2 was my first exposure to the franchise. i think i felt pretty much what i was supposed to feel though; "this guy imprisoned me but seems more sensible than the goons he employs". i liked his matter-of-fact but clearly proud and protective attitude towards Ves and his putting the key on the table and walking away like 'surely Geralt will manage'.
impression now: i still like him! surprisingly, cdpr writes original characters with really commendable nuance. of course, if Iorveth is to be believed word for word, Roche is responsible for carrying out hate crimes (he doesn't deny the accusations Iorveth makes, so i think that's just fact), and yet he shows time and time again that he really is more sensible than most. compare him to Rayla - also a special forces leader - and see the difference. Roche lacks the outright bloodthirst or really even the prejudice; it seems to me that he does his job and obeys Foltest without objection because he sees it as doing something worthwhile with his life, considering how he grew up. he and Iorveth contrast and parallel each other in fascinating ways.
favorite thing about him: his relationship towards Ves, because he clearly values her as an employee and as a person. his relative level-headedness. and the unpacked daddy issues that are most definitely there even if he won't talk about it. that part of him is sadly the most relatable to me. i also enjoy his humor, whether intentional or not. "emhyr var emreis, spice merchant" bursting into the elven baths while Triss is trying her hardest to seduce Geralt, fucking comedy gold.
least favorite thing about him: apart from the hate crimes? i think most of my issues that relate to him are metatextual - because the entire political landscape and plotline of witcher 3 sucks ass. maybe he could've held back the cops that beat Geralt though ngl.
favorite line/scene: "And we did. For three days. Then they smashed us into splinters." again, as much as i dislike the politics in witcher 3, this bit stands out to me. maybe also because it's punctuated by a reprise of the second game's main theme, in 3's instrumentation and a much more somber mood. good scene. that and the funny bits. "Some professional you are..."
favorite interaction he has with another character: it should be mainly credited to Letho's absolutely hilarious one-liner, but their little reunion at Kaer Morhen always gets a chuckle out of me. the entire interrogation at the beginning of witcher 2 is up there too.
a character that i wish he would interact with more: in the second game, elves in general. he mostly proves he's not completely shit-headed in context, but it would've been interesting to see him have a conversation with someone like Cedric. third game should've had Iorveth, we all know that.
another character from another fandom that reminds me of him: i know 5 things, but if i had to make a comparison... general Tullius from Skyrim? both are very capable and dedicated servants of a government despite its obvious failures and both show a noticeable sensibility or even calm you perhaps wouldn't expect. both have a badass lady as their right-hand person, too.
a headcanon about him: he hates the smell of cheap alcohol. childhood reminder. i also think he has a notable appreciation for architecture. can't remember if he actually comments on Loc Muinne in any way but somehow it feels like a thing he'd do. and i think it's pretty much canon that his hair color is towards light brown? or have i been living with fanon for far too long. either way, yeah, dirty blonde or warm light brown, super short on the sides.
a song that reminds of him: Shadowplay by Joy Division, in a way. first verse about beginning to serve Foltest, second verse about Foltest's and Temeria's fall. "but i could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left" versus "and we did, for three days, then they smashed us into splinters".
an unpopular opinion about him: i famously dislike shipping him with Iorveth and i'm actually yet to see a good Roche ship. but the real hot take is that he doesn't need one. did i just say aroace Vernon Roche? maybe.
favorite picture: i'm sorry, but it's gotta be this one. on a more serious note, i always liked this piece of fanart a lot too. he gets to be cool.

CHRISTMAS LOVE
LOVE OF THE ENDLESS COLLECTION
dedicated to @ellooo0ooo ❤️
7 days until Christmas
Christmas was by far the favorite holiday from the waking world of Love of the Endless. Valentine's day was about love, but she always thought it was more of Desire's thing than hers, lust almost always winning from love, but Christmas was the time for joy, family and love, all things the oldest Endless cared about. The movies on this season were also her favorite, even if it was rare to be able to see it, but when it happened it did inspire her.
This year she was more than inspired to help love, not only because of the things at the waking world, but also because for the first time in forever she was truly happy. This year Y/N had Morpheus by her side and not in the sister way or the warm your bed for the night way too, he was hers as much as she was his and that was a reason to celebrate love.
Her target, in the most lovely way, were two young people. The girl was shy and very introvert, had a few friends and a lovely family, but it was hard for her to connect with other people beside them. The boy wasn't exactly like that, he was reserved but not because he had any issues in talking with people, he could socialize with anyone, but only his friends could get him. The hardest thing for Y/N was to find how to make them meet...it all started and ended with a red book in a library. Dash & Lily's Book of Dares.
5 days until Christmas
It was fun to see and help young love, at least the beginning of it. She gave the push, the rest was up to them. Maybe she would change his mind about Christmas, a date she loved and he despised and maybe he would help her get out of her shell. Something would happen, if not now then later, the thread was there and it was one of the strong one.
"My twin, I stand in my gallery holding your sigil. I ask your permission to visit your realm."
"You are always welcome at my garden, twin." Destiny's voice echoed through her gallery. A moment later Y/N was no longer in Akai Ito but at his Garden.
"Hello, Des. How delightful it's to see you and smell this beautiful roses!"
"Is that why you are here?" rarely the Endless family would visit Destiny, only for their family reunion.
"You are my beloved twin and it's almost Christmas. I always get too sentimental when it's close, you know that."
"Yes, if I am not mistaken last year you cried when that child saw that Santa Claus man for the first time."
“It was a very cute scene, but you know why exactly I am here. It’s already in your book, I’m sure, but we’re twins and you are my favorite brother.” as twins, even if being an Endless, they had a strong bond and they shared everything about their lives with each other…mostly Love did since Destiny had no life outside his realm.
“Indeed, I do.”
“It’s a little bit boring that you know everything. Can’t you pretend not to know?”
“I could certainly try. For you, of course.”
“Keep that thought for next time, alright?”
“Is there going to be a next time?”
“Oh, you know how tricky fare can be, dear twin.” another wouldn’t notice the little smile on his face, but Y/N knew him too well to miss it. The rest of their day was spent just talking about the news in Love’s life and some insight in Dream's life too.
3 days until Christmas
"Akai Ito is looking more festive than the Dreaming and it's only me and my doves there. What a shame, Dream of the Endless." she was sitting on his throne waiting for him to finish whatever problem he had to deal with.
"There is no reason for it. They are allowed to dream of this holiday if it is their wish." the place was in fact without any decoration, it was like any other day. "Surely you know it is impolite to sit on another's monarch throne."
"Well, it's not comfortable like mine so I guess you should make up to me for all this time I've spent here waiting for you." Y/N pouted at her lover and he couldn't hold back his smile at the sight.
"Perhaps you are right, my love. I should not have neglected you for such a long time." Love stood up and walked towards him and put her arms around him. "How could I ever repay such a mistake?"
"Oh, I would very much enjoy going to your chambers so you could…repay me for your lack of attention." their lips were almost touching when she said that. "Unfortunately I must go back to my realm soon, there is much to do and so little my doves can help with."
"Or you could not entertain this idea of Christmas and stay here with me." Morpheus pulled Y/N closer so he could kiss her, but she stopped him using her hand.
"It's tradition. For a few hours my beautiful doves can go back to their mortal form and enjoy their holiday. It's my power that allows that, as I have already told you many times, my dream."
"And yet I still find it not necessary."
"You take care of your realm's affairs and I will do the same with mine. I don't wish to spend our little time together fighting over our duties. Wouldn't you rather be kissing me?" Dream didn't answer her with words, but with action. While they were kissing, lord of the Dreaming couldn't help but think that he wanted for it to be their affairs from both realms, he wished to make her his queen and also be her king. The Dreaming and Akai Ito would work together perfectly, dreams and love were often tied to one another.
Every time he thought it was the perfect time something would just happen and stop him, it was getting frustrating, but before their next reunion with the rest of the Endless he would've already proposed to Love. They lost too much time, mostly because of him and his stubbornness, but after everything they were still together and in love. Nothing could break them apart now.
Christmas Eve
.
Their celebration never happened inside, not even when Love had only one dove. No, it was always outside her castle where the flowers always bloom beautifully and there was also a big fountain. It was all decorated and there was even a Christmas tree with some ornaments chosen by the other residents of Akai Ito.
"Did you do it?" Flávia's form came closer to where she was. Y/N was watching as Kyra and Paloma were dancing around the fountain. The ceremony had already started, until the sum came up they would be at their mortal's form. It always amazed the Endless to see them like this, they were all beautiful and even more when happy like today.
"Kind of. Left a gift before coming back."
"A gift?"
"Well, where would be the fun in telling him?" Y/N knew her lover and if she was correct he would soon call her through her sigil. Morpheus couldn't be mad at her, it's not he was the last to know about it. Sure, Destiny knew about it and so did all of her doves and perhaps she told Lucienne as well, but that was all. He was one of the last to know.
As always Love was right, when the clock struck midnight at the waking world Dream of the Endless went to his chambers, trying to avoid all the Christmas' dreams that made him miss his love so much. When he arrived there was the gift left by Y/N on the top of his bed, it wasn't hard to know it was hers since he knew her as well as she knew him.
A minute after midnight Morpheus was running towards his gallery, holding close to his heart a onesie saying "little princess on her way".

💙💔❣️💝
Hello! Thank you so much!
💙: how has the idea changed between starting it and where it is now?
So, I started doing rounds of edits two months ago...
An adjustment in the overall tone of the story. Less light and more shaded. A darker element is weaved in.
It is currently a lot darker in comparison to the original draft. While the main focus of the story is still a modern mythology retelling, I’m totally loving the horror themes I’ve added.
I feel like a kid at the candy store right now with all the changes that I have come up with.
💔: give a brief character bio of your 3-5 MCs
Well, let's begin with Nikolas. He's the oldest and probably the most responsible one out of the cast. His younger brothers think of him as papa because he literally had stepped in to take care of them when their parents passed. Addictive personality but family first.
Edvardas is the black sheep of the family you either have met in one of your family reunions, or you are one yourself. Hard on the outside but squishy like cookie dough inside.
Robertas has thieving hands that also heal. No, but seriously, when he asks you to borrow stuff, don't give anything to him. You aren't ever going to give it back. But he's a massive sweetheart and has a heart of gold. A literal sunshine.
Adamas has a curious mind that goes where the winds take him. He's very caring, even if sometimes he says the wrong things at the wrong time. But if I am being honest, he's probably the only character I would trust with all my secrets and everything else.
Danielius is literally the class clown. He's very hilarious and likes the audience. But he's also very artistic, can play piano, loves to draw and take pictures, and uses his best friend as his inspiration for most part. An artistic renaissance boy in a man's body with a lot to learn still.
Medeina struggles with her identity a lot, all because she doesn't know where she fits in the most. Can talk to dandelions and wolves and has a cool spider familiar. The one with the spark and magic of the story.
❣️: which scene has been hardest to write so far?
How to answer this without spoiling too much, haha. Also I will be editing that scene soon.
It is a very traumatic experience for everyone in the family. Because it includes so many secrets being unveiled and betrayals.
But I also find battle scenes to be hardest to write for me. I am just not good at them.
💝: who has your favorite character arch? give a brief summary
Edvardas.
Inside him, there was always a voice that roared like a lion, but the world around him constantly tried to silence it, expecting more from him than he could deliver.
He's always been a rebel at heart and even as an adult he uses rebelling as a way to express his unhappiness about his situation.
But over the course of the book he learns how to open up more, and that sometimes he needs to stop fighting everything and everyone around him.

random thoughts about castaway diva, episode eight
(read more because i always get carried away lol and this post might contain spoilers)
First of all, I can't imagine how bo geol feels when his brother asked him to recount the day their father hit woo hak with a chair. He's the only one who remembers everything and he's had to hold all of that in for his whole life. I can't begin to understand how that must have felt for him. He's such a strong person and I admire him for his perseverence and strength. I'd love it if he talked about his feelings more in the future. I know the story is focused on mok ha, but like the first episode showed, mok ha and ki ho have formed a super strong bond. All of that to say bo geol's feelings/story are a crucial part to this drama so it'd be nice if we got to know a little bit more about bo geol's feelings.
With that said, I also understand how difficult it must be for bo geol to be vulnerable around anyone. Ever since he was a kid, he's had to fend for himself and act as if nothing happened. He's protected himself by wearing this armor and now that he's grown up, he doesn't know how to act differently. The saddest part is he's tried numerous times to escape from his father. He even went as far as to call the police on his own dad (a police officer himself) for ab*se. But guess what? The police did nothing! The only time he's asked for help, the people that had the power to help him abandoned him and didn't believe him because his dad couldn't do that. Mr Jung seems like a nice man. He's a good police officer. "Plus, it's your dad ki ho. How could he do that to you?" All of that made being vulnerable impossible for him. He couldn't trust anyone. He was away from his loving family for years so the only person he could count on was himself. He was along for quite some time. He cried to himself, he had no one to hug/comfort him. No wonder being vulnerable and open about his feelings is a hard task for bo geol.
So I was right, ki ho and the "father" living in chunsam island happened after the chair incident. It's heartbreaking to see him being dragged with his father with no one to help him. What's even more heartbreaking is the mom's words "For the time being, don't provoke your father." There's an uncertainty in what she's saying. She doesn't even know if he'll be able to be him back home once the older brother is okay. The desperation in young ki ho's eyes is unbearable to watch. You want to stop that from happening. Then they hatched up a plan and ki ho was finally able to escape from his father. The reunion was wholesome. I must admit I shed a tear or two :')
Lee Uk really is an angel. This man is the living proof that love does move mountains 🩷 I'm so happy the mother found him. Thank you lee uk for what you've done for the family. You're a real man.
I'm sick and tired of woo hak wanting things to go his way and ignore everybody else's feelings. He annoys me sometimes.
It's so refreshing to see bo geol finally being ready to live as ki ho (at least to mok ha) because he's got tired of living in fear. I can't pinpoint what exactly triggered him but it's great to see.
AGHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'd love to be able to express myself clearly but my brain goes literally BBGRFEDECYGHTGFDFGHJ when i see how bo geol cares about mok ha. He knows that she doesn't want to pursue her dream after meeting with mr jung, yet bo geol is trying to convince her that becoming a famous singer would help the family. He's trying his hardest to not make her feel guilty and that proves he's her number one fan. He never stopped believing in her, even when she no longer could do so for herself. ALL IN ALL BO GEOL CARES 💖
On a completely unrelated note, chae jong hyeop has such a beautiful voice 😍 i'm falling in love with him,
Seeing mok ha and bo geol enjoying their time together is oh so sweet because it's the first in a looooooooooooooong time they get to be carefree and enjoy the moment. They've always had to endure the pain of being ab*sed so it's nice to witness them sharing memories with each other now that they know who the other is.
The camping scenes made me an emotional mess 😭😭😭 i think everyone in the family needed that moment to calm down and have fun. Also, it's beautiful to see that the family wanted to share with mok ha the first moment they reunited together without mr jung. It was a nice touch.
So happy to listen to dream us park eun bin version. She has such a beautiful voice.
All families deserve a dad like lee uk. The fact that he listened to bo geol being concerned about a nightmare he had that involved mr jung and acted upon it immediately shows how much he cares and loves his family. That man is an angel.
I- I'm not sure about the McD*n*ld's product placement. Even though it was funny how they accentuated the "th" sound in drive through lol
I feel for ran joo. All that pressure to keep being active and popular just so her mom's condition improves must be a lot to carry on her own. Once again, she's dealing with this alone. Thinking back on it, the years where she fell in disgrace must have been twice as hard for her. She's not only fighting for herself, she's also fighting for her mother.
Now why did ki ho go back to chunsam island and meet up with the man who betrayed him many many times and sided with mr jung? I know he has a plan but I'm scared for him.
I know bo geol wants to confront his dad but i'm scared for him. I don't want him to be harmed.
I really hope they catch mr jung. If not for the ab*se, at least for the car acc*dent.
It's interesting to see how ran joo got tired of mok ha giving up only once when she did it so many times to mok ha. I find that to be unfair! But at the same time, I understand she has a lot on her plate: her mother, the pressure to reach the 20 million album sales goal, the disgrace she's in right now, the realization that she is no longer the trend, the manipulation from her company. All of that is too much for one person. I know I'm contradicting myself but I can't help it.
I was a little frustrated with this episode so i'll give it an 8/10.
#if you know me you know the drill: i don't make any sense and i contradict myself#how can anyone understand what i wrote? I have no idea#if you have any theory you can leave them here lol#i feel like episode 9 will be full of twists and hopefully some things will get resolved#random(al) thoughts#kdrama#castaway diva

how would trent and hendo act around each other at sgp since this is their first time back together after the transfer?
is trent really standoffish and shy around hendo now or bratty and ignorant of the other to try and hide how hurt he really is? is it all going to come to a head at some point and cause trent to have an outburst?
platonic or romantic but hurt/comfort is very VERY much appreciated !!
loving u always 🩵
trent alexander-arnold/jordan henderson | gone ♡
St. George’s Park, the beating heart of England's football aspirations, had seen countless reunions, but this one held a different charge. It was the first gathering since Jordan's transfer, separating him from Trent for the first time in their ever-intertwined footballing careers.
From the moment they stepped onto the training ground, everyone could sense the tension. Trent, always the confident young player, had evolved into a distant figure. At times, he acted with an air of bravado, almost like he was trying to overcompensate for something. And at others, he appeared completely closed off.
Jordan, on the other hand, seemed torn. Every now and then, his gaze would search for the familiar number 66, lingering for a few beats too long. Even the rest of the lads could sense something was off, but Jordan could do nothing but wave away their concerns. Not without exposing far too much far too quickly.
At dinner, the team gathered around tables, the hum of conversation filling the room. Trent took a seat at the far end, his eyes darting around as if looking for an escape route. Jordan, ever the captain, attempted to bridge the gap, but the divide felt like a widening chasm.
And as days progressed, the tension heightened. During drills, Trent’s sharp, bratty retorts to simple passes or minor errors didn’t go unnoticed.
It all came to a head one evening. Trent, clearly frustrated by a misjudged pass, lashed out, "Why don't you go pass to your new teammates, Hendo? Seems like you've forgotten about the old ones!"
Jordan's face was a mask of calm, but those who knew him saw the storm in his eyes. "Trent," he began, voice steady but soft.
"No," Trent snapped, defiance in every line of his body. "I gave everything for Liverpool. For you. And you just... left."
The weight of that confession hung heavy, the other lads suddenly too engrossed in their own activities to interfere.
Jordan exhaled deeply. “It was never about leaving you,” he murmured, pulling Trent slightly away from the prying eyes. "The transfer, the changes – it was all for the game. It wasn’t personal."
Trent's gaze, filled with pain and yearning, met Jordan’s. "It felt personal."
A heart-wrenching silence ensued, only broken when Jordan whispered, "Come with me."
Leading Trent to a more private spot, the walls between them began to crumble. "I missed you,” Jordan admitted, voice choked. “Every moment. Every game. It's never been the same."
Trent, eyes glistening, nodded. “Me too. But it hurts, Hendo. I felt left behind."
Jordan reached out, pulling Trent into a gentle embrace. “No matter where we are, no distance will change what we have. We've shared too much, grown too close... it was the hardest decision I've ever had to make.”
As Trent leaned into the comfort, Jordan could feel the tension begin to ease out of him. It wasn't worth spending the short time they do have together angry.
And as they stepped onto the pitch the next day, side by side as they laughed and joked just like the old times, the entire team could see that they were stronger than any transfer or distance put between them.
