Beautiful Dealbreaker
There was a game of football on the television. Kouji was sitting leaned against Takuya, laptop on his lap and working on an article while Takuya watched the game. Takuya’s fingers were trailing along a scar on Kouji’s arm. Kouji didn’t mind, he traced their outlines himself sometimes in order to calm down. But Takuya had a frown on his face and Kouji couldn’t understand why.
As the game was nearing its end Kouji closed the laptop. Takuya’s hand stopped. Kouji turned towards him, crossed his arms over his chest.
”What?”
”What what?”
”You’re thinking about something”, Kouji gestured at Takuya. ”What is it?”
”Just…”
Takuya gestured back at Kouji. At the scar he had just been tracing. Kouji felt irritation make its way through him.
”You’ve never thought about getting those fixed?” Takuya asked. ”I know a guy, I could take you to him.”
Kouji’s body turned to ice. He grabbed the laptop.
”It’s just scars”, he said.
”Yeah, but they’re ugly”, Takuya explained.
Kouji’s stomach hurt. He stared at Takuya, didn’t find any words. Takuya pulled a hand through his hair, leaned closer to Kouji and grabbed his chin.
”My partner should be beautiful. Perfect”, Takuya purred. ”Like me.”
He leaned in for a kiss. Kouji slammed the laptop in Takuya’s face and stood up. Takuya’s nose was bleeding, but Kouji was too angry to care. His scars were part of him, his history, reminders of his adventures. If that was a deal breaker…
”Find another partner”, Kouji hissed.
”What the hell, man?!” Takuya shouted and held a hand against his nose. ”I was just offering help!”
Kouji turned his back to Takuya, walked away.
”I’m going to the others. Don’t call me.”
He grabbed his backpack, didn’t stop to grab his coat and shoes. He slammed the door shut behind him, got on his bike and drove away from Takuya’s house.

Kingdom Hearts 3 - Rage Form
#kingdom hearts 3#kh3#sora#rage form#arendelle#formchange#my gif#rage form is so intriguing#sora still behaves in a wild animalistic fashion similar to his anti form but it's different#anti form felt as if he relinquished all self control and acted strictly on instinct just like a heartless#he used to run around hunched over on all fours and fight tooth and claw with reckless abandon#but here you can at least see SOME semblance of who he is. he's able to wield his keyblade while in this form which is pretty major#he still fights in an absolutely chaotic and primal manner but it feels evolved#the big difference is you call upon rage form at will. he channels his rage and darkness in a desperate last resort to stay alive#which is very significant but he still loses some control like the ability to use of magic; items; shotlocks; etc#it's cool to see darkness used in this way but i really want sora to able to explore themes of darkness within himself in future games#i want these to be more than cool forms with fun gameplay. i want them to have implications that something dark is brewing and needs to be-#brought to the surface and tackled head on because we've never seen anyone capable of cloaking themselves in darkness in such a way#take riku's dark form for example. he's in control and he's very much still himself. it's entirely different#on another note i'm now thinking about how hp is fully restored when activating rage form but you have the choice to give it up again-#when using risk charge. it'll increase attack damage but you're still walking a dangerous line in the pursuit of power

sorry to be a bit of a hater but i do wish youtubers weren't so scared of making their videos just like, "reviews", whys everything gotta be a "video essay" all the time. every day my recommendations are filled with 40 minute videos titled "_____: An Underrated Masterpiece" where the first like five minutes are reading the wikipedia definition of "masterpiece" in a somber voice with dramatic themed text on screen. please just tell me how good or bad you think something is and use the rest of the runtime to explain why. you dont need to put on all these airs
#i know the ahem. channel. of some awe....... that whole situation kind of scared people off from using the word review#but like we live in the future now. you can make a review. i believe in you#AND LIKE i like a good video essay!! but im picky. because i read academic shit for fun#when i see a capital E essay im expecting theses. im expecting sub headers. im expecting multiple examples AND footnotes with asides#(and i know this is a controversial topic but i do expect them to be long. because if you read aloud a 4 page journal article its gonna)#(take a bit of time LOL maybe i just read too much academia shit. but i dunno man. theres not a lot you can say about like a big huge)#(topic with multiple angles if you only have like 10 minutes. maybe i just talk too slow. i need to breath <3 )#theres other formats too. surveys. retrospectives. informative essays. persuasive essays. etc#and like i also read lots of reviews not just of like movies and books but of like gallery exhibitions and shit!! they can be extremely#interesting a lot of work and some really beautiful writing!! nothing wrong with a review!!! theyre important#but i do get annoyed with like. the odd air of pretention i see in a lot of video essays. especially cause its usually not backed up by#the content. i dont care for those airs in academia either. nor do i like it in documentaries#just talk naturally. you'll find your voice. there might be pretention in it in the end but it'll be yours#if im making sense. i hear a lot of people talking in a pretention that is not their own. something they put on because thats what they#think they should do. you need to find your own pretention. be pretentious in a way that feels natural to youuuuuu#hell im being pretentious. about this LOL but like its my own. it is a pretentiousness ive built over the past half decade#play around. write a blog. i dunno. find your voice dear youtubers. find your voice

ABOUT THE WELCOME HOME UPDATE LIVESTREAM!
in a miraculous turn of events, i can in fact stream the update Live, When It Drops, As It Happens! i did not expect this, sorry for the late notice!
i will be hosting it on my shiny new Youtube Account that i made purely for this <3
i'm tentatively assuming that we'll have some warning before the link/update drops, so I plan on starting the stream an hour Beforehand for a bit of a "pre-party"! that way we can say our hellos, let people join, freak out prematurely, and i can lay down some Ground Rules!

Kingdom Hearts 3 - Toy Box
#kingdom hearts 3#kh3#toy box#scenery#my gif#running around andy's room and seeing sora donald and goofy's toy themed appearance for the first time is such a vivid memory for me#they went so hard making that toy store it's soooo detailed. just imagine all of the assets needed to fill the place#box art for toys; video game cover cases; various figures/toys to put out on display for a variety of different toy departments#they could have remade al's toy barn but no they created this huge three story tall mega super store#it's every kids dream and looks too grand and amazing to be an actual existing building in the toy story canon lol#but even the plot elements of this world are so intriguing#there's the introduction of yozora; the gigas mechs; having sora thrown into a tv screen right into the verum rex game; split worlds#so much happens here and i just know it'll be fully recontextualized in future game installments#i'm really looking forward to that#but all of that aside it's really neat to be toy sized#it's all just such a fun experience. good world

Best Shakespeare Adaptation
since the 1600s, people have been rewriting shakespeare and writing spinoffs in good, bad, and frankly just kind of insane ways. today, they will compete until only one is left standing!
during the poll craze i ran a lot of brackets and had fun, but ended up with a couple spare blogs i ended up having to delete, so i'm running this one off my main.
q. is this a tournament for productions or adaptations?
a. adaptations! stuff that changes dialogue or medium (beyond play -> movie) or takes a really new spin on it! west side story counts, romeo and juliet (1996) doesn't.
q. will there be a limit on contestants?
i'll cut it at 64 or 32 depending on how many submissions we get! if we get a lot of adaptations of a few plays and less of others, i won't cut any of them out, but i'll make some of them face off in round one
q. are you biased?
yes. fortinbras sweep. i've been reading 'these violent delights' too and it's pretty good. oh and can't forget haider, and requiem of the rose king is an all timer... basically, yes i really like rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead, but i have much room in my heart
q. is it most best portrayal/analysis, or best on its own merits?
a. a little of both, but mostly the latter
q. does [x thing] (that's pretty different than the original inspiration) count?
a. if it is common knowledge that it's shakespeare inspired
