Put on a zip-up hoodie for the first time since surgery, and like. My torso is a straight line. It sounds so trivial, but god, it feels good to see.
#surgery recovery#graphics on t-shirts will sit flat now. buttons won’t gape.#I’m still in the compression vest for a few more days so it’s actually going to be even more of a straight line than it already is#this makes all the pain of recovery worth it#this last week has been a real…weird state of mind#knowing I don’t know what kind of job to even look for. knowing I can’t make my body heal any faster.#knowing my wife’s job might be up in the air. knowing my brain is utterly broken on the creative front.#attaching my mental health to whether or not a show will get renewed—which I’m aware is a coping mechanism but also:#is one more thing I can’t begin to control#I’m living in limbo and it’s been rough as hell#but seeing myself in the mirror today. even though I still am sore and not entirely mobile. it was amazing.
