Conjunction of the Benefics
A Hymn for the Benefic Conjunction, the annual meeting of Jupiter and Venus (with some notes about the meeting in Taurus on 22-23 May 2024).
Venus and Jupiter together, the annual Conjunction of the Benefics, takes place on May 23, 2024, in the early morning hours of Thursday 23 May 2024 at 4:16 am EDT. This year is especially delightful, because it takes place in one of the two signs that is ruled by Venus, and in the anaretic degree (which is a fancy astrological way of saying “last” — and which brings a special empowerment to its…

My secondary hobby (still related to marauders obviously) is the night sky. Tonight's views were stunning!
This is the moon with Jupiter and Venus. Look at that earthshine!!
I think everyone who sees me on Facebook or Twitter thinks this is a completely new hobby that started because of the sky. But nope, it started out because my obsession with the Black brothers got out of control, then escalated into a second fandom.
So anyway we're still pretty close to the new moon from a couple of days ago, so good for Remus Lupin. Now that the moon has set and a few hours have passed, Sirius and Regulus are both up and bright and doing their thing. ❤️
I am going to miss winter soooo much.

Last night was cloudy so no good stargazing :(
Could see the early evening stars (including Sirius) but it was cloudy by the time Regulus showed up.
Stargazing has become a great hobby to keep me entertained while not spending money! It also has the fantastic bonus of being deeply related to my other hobby, which is reading/writing marauders stuff.
But cloudy nights make me sad. :( All day I was looking forward to searching the sky more to pick up more constellations. I already know way more than I did even a few weeks ago.
As a thank you for reading, this is how bright the planets were: (Jupiter (top left) and Venus (bottom right))
