Explaining RWBY to people who never watched RWBY

Describing RWBY out of context Let's pretend somebody asked you what was RWBY and you decided to use out of context explanations? Like these? 1. RWBY: the show that made people cry because Mulan and Thor held hands. 2. Remember that time the Grim Reaper got into a blood feud with the Little Old Lady who Lived in a Shoe (who is also a military general) over cashews? 3. No, the Wicked Witch of the West wanted to kill the gods because they wouldn’t revive her boyfriend, Princess Ozma 4. The Tin Man is going insane and the Snow Queen wants to blow up Moby Dick so Jeanne, Mulan and Goldilocks volunteer to go inside and save Tip (who is finally on speaking terms with the spirit of Princess Ozma). Tip manages to convince Hansel and Aladdin to turn good by showing them the Genie, but they are found by the Wicked Witch of the West. 5. Hansel realizes being evil goes against Gretel’s memory, so he takes all the steroids he has to beat up the Wicked Witch and hold her down while Tip causes a nuclear explosion that blows up her alongside Moby Dick. 6. The highlight (at least for me) of the newest season is that Goldilocks punched the Wicked Witch in the tits and blew them off with explosive rounds. 7. The Angel of Death once kicked the tush of an ice cream cone while Pinocchio and Cinderella went full cage match on each other in the background, all in the Roman Colosseum 8. Tick-Tock the Crocodile blinded the Angel of Death because Rapunzel does not share power.

9. What about that time Hansel kicked the tar outta Dorothy and The Great And Powerful Oz at the same time? Or when Cinderella tried to steal what were meant to be Elsa’s powers but was stopped thanks to the combined efforts of Pinocchio, Gepetto, and the Grimm Reaper herself?Or when the Scarecrow fell in love with The Honest Fisherman but then a scorpion framed the Scarecrow for murder and everyone was rightfully ticked off?Don’t forget that time when the Tin Man turned into a fascist dictator... 10. Think my favourite moment was while in a high security prison together; Robin Hood tears Jack Frost a new one, watches as Doctor Watson is decked by the police and carried off, then is implied to agree to help the Scarecrow murder the Tin Man - who is the fascist dictator that put them all in prison 11. And to add to this, Belle, the Monkey King, Red Riding Hood, and Pinocchio all fought against Honest John, and the Heyenas at the docks. 12. The Monkey King threw a banana in Honest John's face, and then Pinocchio went all "IMMA FIRIN MAH LASER!" 13. Let’s not forget the Grimm Reaper kicking butt and saving the day teaching Red Ruding hood how to use her laser eyes to save Belle from the monsters that weaponized depression. Or when and when Snow White torched up the dark with her personal super power while Red Riding good lead a drunk Scarecrow out side the house. 14. Or that time Goldilocks and bell stabbed the beast through the heart while red riding hood dorthy Thor the eye of Odin Mulan and Joan of arc fought the old lady in the shoe 15. Remember when Dr. Watson hacked an election so that Jack Frost would win over Robin Hood? 16. Remember when the Tin Man shot Dorothy and Oz the Great and Powerful off a cliff without provocation (with one bullet I may add)? Or the time the Wicked Witch of the West tried to kill the Gods because they wouldn’t bring her boyfriend (Oz the Great and Powerful) back from the dead? 17. Tin Man is unhinged and may have murdered and elected official. Granted, he did shoot Dorothy Gale point blank. 18. Ice cream Marry Poppins also feels under-appreciated. 19. Red Riding hood just told the tin man to backoff and stop emotionally manipulating Pinocchio. 20. ya'll CAN'T miss the time when joan of arc, mulan, thor and dorothy lost a 4v1 fight to an ice cream cone 21. Yall forgot how Belle and Goldilocks are a couple and killed Belle's abusive ex who was a fusion of gaston and the beast 22. Man remember when the Wicked Witch Of The West rode in on Monstro the Whale? Good times, good times. 23. Gepetto repairs Pinocchio and she has more cute moments with little red. She also gets framed for murder. 24. Everyone is shipping The Scarecrow and the The Lucky Charms mascot (yes I know he’s technically the fisherman’s good luck, don’t @ me). 25. Aesop’s fables get their tushies kicked by our main team. 26. Tin Man flat out shoots Dorothy Gale point blank. 27. Wicked Witch rides in on Monstro, about to wreck chaos and havoc. 28. Also the rest of Team FNKI is that infamous color changing dress. 29. Robin Hood lost to Jack Frost in an election because John Watson hacked the votes 30. Dorothy is the Wizard of Oz and also is the reincarnation of the Queen of Oz, who was in a loving relationship with the Wicked Witch of the West and had four children with her, one of whom was Dorothy. 31. Don’t forget how Hansel wants to murder the Wizard of Oz after he got Gretel killed, and how Thor yeeted him through a wall. 32. And remember the time when Belle and Goldilock straight up murder Gaston? 33. And never forget how Muninn, the other of Odin’s ravens and the mother of Goldilocks, decided to betray her brother Huginn, her daughter Goldilocks, and her daughter’s friends to the Wicked Witch of the West, all so that she could get a chance to try and steal Genie’s lamp from the Cave of Wonders. 34. Don't forget the time cinderella fought an ice cream cone in front of one of the biggest crime lords, little miss muffet. 35. Hansel wants to kill the Great and Powerful Oz because Oz let his sister Greta die. the personification of Dia De Los Muertos ticked off the Little Old Lady who lived in a Shoe Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum did acrobatics to amuse a crying baby Joan of Arc got pimp slapped by a Giant Mech and was fine Hugin/Scarecrow got drunk while Dorothy fixed a tire and everyone else was running around from the personification of depression. 36. We all forgot that the Grim Reaper fought the Crocodile from Peter Pan and chopped off its head 37. And then there was the time the old lady who lived in a shoe almost failed to protect San Francisco because of a decades old grudge against the Grim Reaper. 38. The little old lady who lives in a shoe gets her tush kicked by a bunch of kids. 39. Gaston finally gets what he deserves 40. Cinderella and Ice Cream Marry Poppins team up 41. I ship Pinocchio (with strings) and Red Riding hood... also I never thought that shipping the scarecrow with Elsa would be so great, and now we just met the Red Queen and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum who denied Dorothy access to the Magical Kingdom because they hate eachother 42. Also the boy who I have to assume was Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk is now emerging Minds with the Great and Powerful Oz. 43. And Little Miss Muffet is head of a gang in the Earth Kindgom. 44. Don’t forget the Pied Piper murdered his family to save money. 45. Rapunzel needs new windows because Hansel brought up her ex. 46. Dont forget that if Cinderella didn't kill Joan of Arc's lover, then Sappho would have been Achille's Sister in law 47. I totally want Goldilocks and Belle to end up together. Snow White and Red Riding Hood actually looks cute too, but you could already see that Thor and Mulan are already a thing. 48. Tweedledee died just for shock and nobody cared. 49. Also everybody favourite girl Mary Poppins returned after years just to beat the tar out of Cinderella 50. Or when Goldilocks, daughter of one of Odin's ravens, almost got killed by ice cream 51. Santa Claus is Elsa and Snow White's grandfather 52. Oz and the Fairy Godmother are at war with each other because Agni and Cernunnos got ticked off that the Fairy Godmother convinced everyone to go atheist because they're both kinda butt-heads. 53. The reason for this war? Agni and Cernunnos killed everyone except Fair Godmother, who they cursed with immortality...before bringing Oz back and telling him that if he didn't stop her, he would be forced to die and resurrect until he did. 54. Please note that Oz and Fairy Godmother were married and had like 5 children at this time. 55. So yes, Agni and Cernunnos are absolute jerks of the highest order of magnitude. Thanks for proving Fairy Godmother right the entire time. 56. Also, the Beast is a bonafide terrorist who tried to hijack a peaceful protest movement from Sher Khan. Also, the God of the Seas can't swim. 57. Joan of Arc lost her temper at Cinderella for killing Achilles and almost killed her when Red Riding Hood weakened Cinderella with her eye lasers, then Cinderella speared Snow White through the sternum to torture Joan of Arc and the rest of the crew because she a sadist. 58. Also Hansel attempting to murder Dorothy good because Dorothy carries the soul of the Wizard of Oz and Hansel blames him for Gretel's death. 59. Also Aladdin losing his marbles when he thought Cinderella was dead after Goldilocks came out from a vault alone holding the genie's lamp, and he made the entire crew see an apparition of fifty foot Dark Rapunzel. 60. This show gets nuts when you break it down... 61. And the Wizard of Oz and the Wicked Witch of the West banged and had four kids before she killed them all because Oz thought murder was bad. 62. And the time Nyan Cat called Goldylocks top heavy. 63. Or when one eye of Odin stopped Mary Poppins from murdering Goldylocks. 64. Or when the OTHER eye of Odin fought it out with the purple scorpion acolyte. 65. Mary Poppins and Cinderella fought in Lil Miss Muffet’s Tavern. 66. Also one time Goldylocks punched Katsuki Bakugo out of a convenience store. 67. Cinderella just hired Little Miss Muffet as a hitman and wants her to murder Little Red Riding Hood and friends. 68. I can't believe y'all left put the part where the Bronze Kneecap from Fairly Odd Parents fought against Joan of Arc, Achilles, Milan and Thor only to get his and his team's assets kicked by Thor 69. And lest we forget, Little Miss Muffet is a cowgirl, the genie from Aladdin is a naked woman, and the eyes of Odin came from a tribe of bandits. 70. Snow White locked Jack Frost and the Tin Man in a room once. 71. And Hansel tried to inject raw magic into his arms just to beat up the Wizard of Oz. 72. I cannot believe you all forgot to add that the Golden Monkey Kings best pal is the Roman God Neptune and coincidentally he is afraid of water 73. How about that time when Snow White got a meaningful lecture from Peter(Peter and the wolf) about swallowing your pride and being the best teammate you can be? 74. Don’t forget that Hermes and Aladdin keep making jabs at each other while Cinderella is their babysitter for the Wicked Witch of the West and they team up with Huginn. 75. Is anyone else here for the three times Snow White had to be saved by Red Riding Hood, Beauty the Beast, and Goldilocks respectively? 76. Or the fact that Inspector Gadget’s niece locked Red Riding Hood in a dumpster? 77. Or the time the Velveteen Rabbit destroyed an entire mech on her own? 78. And let’s not forget Thor proclaiming herself Queen while standing atop a fortress and initiating a food fight, 79. How could you guys forget when Gaston cut Goldilock's arm off because Belle liked her more than him; and he was there because the Wicked Witch of the West ordered Cinderella to attack The Wizard of Oz's school, so she hired Gaston, Lampwick, Hermes, Alladin, and a tub of ice cream to terrorize the city. 80. Also in RWBY Chibi, Poseidon, The Monkey King, Mulan, and Joan of Arc are best buds and do bro stuff 81. Remember the time Snow White got mad because Poseidon flirted with another girl, or when Jone of Arc tried to date Snow White 82. Remember when Hermes destroyed Goldilocks’s reputation and then the Beast cut off her arm because she was trying to protect Belle? Yeah hahahah good times 83. Omg remember when Hansel tried to kill Dorothy because he thought he was the Wizard of Oz and that he killed Gretel? 84. Also Cinderella stabbed Snow White. 85. But don't forget when Red Riding Hood,Snow White,Belle & Goldilocks teamed up with The Monkey King & Poseidon to fight an Evangelion & then The Monkey King & Poseidon bailed out to go eat noodles because nothing can keep the Monkey King away from food. 86. What about the time when Hugin/Munin kidnapped Snow White and then lost her to Goldilocks? 87. Don’t you guys remember that Red Riding Hood hides all her feelings because she is selfless? After the deaths of Pinocchio and Achilles, she has been very depressed. But FINALLY she talked to Dorothy. It’s good that Red Riding Hood got some development. 88. Don’t forget that everyone in the fandom (and I mean EVERYONE) is sexually attracted to Mulan. But they’re too afraid to say it because Thor will wreck them up. 89. Rwby.. Where Coco Chanel booted a monster in the balls then finished it off with her custom made designer handbag cause it destroyed her favouite shop! 90. Don't forget when the Beast lopped off Goldilocks arm so the Tin Man gave her a bionic replacement and now she's owning everyone's butts with it! And the whole fandom is wondering if it has a vibrate function! 91. Agree to disagreeI didn’t know Scarlet was supposed to be Peter Pan though! I certainly wouldn’t have pegged Winter for Elsa either! Saying Oscar is Dorothy makes some sense now that I think about it, but I still see him as a the contrast between the before and after of the Wizard accepting his place in the world of Oz. 92. You guys forget how we were introduced to the show with little red riding hood going liam neeson on a bunch of wolfs. Followed but Snow White being her own prince and saving herself from the apple, which is a gigantic knight with freaking magic gunpowder might I add. After that we see belle fighting robots with this poopie-head no body likes, oh did I say that she can create short lived clones of herself. And to finish it all off we see Goldilocks going to a bar and beating everyone there... 93. How about when Hansel beat up the wizard of Oz and the Scarecrow to get revenge for Gretal’s death? Or when one of Odin’s ravens dueled Cinderella? Or when Santa Claus founded an ultracapitalist mega-corporation? Or when the Wicked Witch murdered the Cowardly Lion wait that one actually kind of makes sense. 94. What about that time Goldilocks road a bumbleby to find her mom the bird from Nevermore only to find out that she kidnapped Snow WhiteOr what about that time when a cup of hot coco kicked a wolf in the balls for destroying her favorite clothing storeOr what about when an ice cream cone kicked the stuffing out of Goldilocks on a trainor what about Alladin being gay for Cinderella 95. Remember when Snow White set the forest on fire all because Red Ridding Hood got in the way 96. times when Belle slapped the monkey king. 97. Remember that time when Thor sent Goldilocks flying through the ceiling and she didn’t come back down for like a whole minute 98. Remember when Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Belle and Goldilocks had a food fight against Jone of Arc, Thor, Achilles and Mulan.And the Good Witch was mad that they had started a food fight.And the Monkey King loved the fight but Poseidon didn’t because he got food in the face. 99. And then Munin and Cinderella fought in front of an underground tree because Munin was really Spring. Meanwhile the Wizard of Oz starts fighting Hansel because he holds a grudge over the death of Gretel. And Joan of Arc stars healing Snow White after she is stabbed in the liver by a spear from Cinderella. Red Riding Hood leaves Thor in charge of defending those two while she helps Goldilocks fight Aladdin and Hermes. The Cowardly Lion shoots rocks at the Wizard, but Hunin starts fighting him.... 100. Personally I’m looking forward to the fact that Cinderella with the assistance of wacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tubeman is about to get her butt kicked by an angry bird named Huginn. 101. Or the part where Mary Poppins kicks Goldilock’s tush, then runs away when Huginn/Muninn teleports onto a suicide bomber train covered in gundams.Or the time Pinnochio fires a kamehameha at some helicopters. 102. Definitely forgetting how snow white shot little red riding hood up a cliff to cut off Poe’s raven’s head using her scythe and a cliff 103. Everyone seems to forget the time were Snow White had a meltdown at a ball and The Tin Man not only defended her, but also singlehandedly (heheh) roasted the whole room °¬ 104. Hänsel is mad at the Wizard of Oz because Gretel died and therefore joined the Witch. He’s trying to murder Dorothy. Joan of Arc switched to Mercy and saved Snow White’s life. Mulan commented “This is bad”. Meanwhile, Hugin played Cinderella 105. And let’s not forget that one time when Bartholomew from the Dr. Seuss book used Toto as a ballistic missile and launched him at a bunch of mecha that were stolen by PETA operatives. 106. What about that time the Scarecrow got really drunk and fought Elsa, but then the Tin Man stopped it? 107. Don’t forget that one time a Flying Monkey tried to kidnap Little Red Riding Hood but the Scarecrow saved her by punching him in the face. 108. And on less recent news we have that time the Beast stabbed Belle in the gut, severed Goldolock’s arm while Belle watched and almost killed them both. But it’s (kind off) ok, because the Tin Man made her a new arm. Eventually. 109. The cowardly lion literally betrayed The Wizard of Oz because he got too terrified of the Wicked Witch who wants to destroy the universe and then some. 110. Don’t forget the time everyone thought Goldilocks broke the roman god Mercury’s leg. But then it turned out his legs were prosthetic. 111. And Bagheera and the Monkey King recently owned two foxes while Belle set her own house on fire and convinced an evil gay chameleon to be good. And a Hindu goddess cat MILF defeated Assassin Batman (who is voiced by Vegeta) with a tea tray.Meanwhile Cinderella, Aladdin, silver haired Hermes and Dr Watson made a deal with one of Odin’s ravens (who is a deadbeat parent) to help the Cowardly Lion lead Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Goldilocks, Joan of Arc, Thor, Mulan, the Wizard of Oz, and the... 112. Why is no one mentioning how Coco Chanel once used her designer mini-gun purse to rip through several giant demon birds, or when her partner the Velveteen Rabbit took out two mechs single handily using the power of holograms.I personally like the time the Scarecrow got the Tinman to kick Elsa the Snow Queen out of a meeting which concerned the time that Cinderella, Aladdin and the Roman God of messages kicked the everloving stuffings out of the personification of Autumn. 113. Guys, how can you forget the time Belle and The Monkey King faced off against The Big Bad Wolf/Alex from Clockwork Orange and nearly got killed. Then Red Riding Hood showed up to help but got distracted by Pinocchio being cute and got knocked out of the fight. Then Pinocchio got angry and preceded to beat up Big Bad Alex and destroy a metric ton of private property under control of Evil PETA? 114. Remember prom night when Achilles was really upset because no one asked her to the ball but tbh she just wanted to go with Joan of Arc, but he asked Snow White out but she wanted to go with the god of the sea. But in the end, everything turned out okay and Achilles, Joan of Arc, Thor and Mulan did a choreographed dance routine. 115. I like the time when the God of the Sea got scared of the sea as he fought alongside his fellow BIGBANG members. And that time when he and the Monkey King went out to get ramen from the “MY CABBAGES” guy as they hoped the fairy tale squad wasn’t dead because of their cowardice.Also, Jelsa cannot exist in this universe unless you ship a father and daughter who hate each other.And the Scarecrow is a drunk birb who’s sad because he lost his favourite poem. 116. Mulan tried to help Little Red Riding Hood cook dinner but she was having none of it until she burnt it (while Thor ate what they were preparing and Joan of Arc set the table) and then instead went to serve tea to the Scarecrow’s friends only to discover that Goldilocks and Snow White had returned from the hideout of one of Odin’s raven’s, where they were told not to trust the Wizard of OzOh yeah and Goldilocks is completely heartbroken over Belle, and with the Monkey... 117. I’m amazed that no one has made mention of how badass the Tin-man is or how the Good Witch was scolding Elsa for fighting with Scarecrow because “He’s always drunk”.And there was also that time that Toto and Bartholomew Suess-pants fought a mob of furries and their war-mech with nothing but a flaming coffee-thermos.And who could forget that amazing food-fight that ended with the spectating Monkey King perfectly clean and The Roman God of the Seas covered in the fights aftermath; Then The Good... 118. Glenda the Good Witch threatened to whip Red Riding Hood with a riding crop. 119. Let’s not forget the iconic moment of Snow White flinging Little Red Riding Hood into Edgar Allen Poe’s pet raven by way of a massive slingshot created by Belle’s ribbon, held by her and Goldilocks. 120. Snow White hugged Goldilocks, after being kidnapped by Goldilocks’ mom Munin, and their ship exploded. Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks have a family dog, Ein from Cowboy Bebop, who is apparently fireproof. Goldilocks knocked a tooth out of a guy named Shay D. Mann.Red Riding Hood, Joan of Arc, Mulan, and Thor are hanging out in a house with RRH and Goldilocks’ Uncle, The Scarecrow, while trying hide their plans from the Cowardly Lion. Goldilocks rocket-punched Thor during an arm wrestling... 121. Also, the fandom just plain hates the Beast/Gaston hybrid for being Belle’s creepy, abusive ex and chopping off one of Goldilock’s arms. Goldilocks got better though and now has a sweet robot prosthetic arm that’s also a gun. 122. firestorm has king arthur as a dragon and dating a seasonal maiden 123. while data/kikaider looks after snow white even if she doesn't need it 124. jade from mortal kombat has ermac's powers and is being taught by the wizard of oz and glinda the good witch 125. merlin the great wizard is split up into a pair of twins 126. rusty the narrow gauge diesel is the big sister of pinocchio and data/kikaider 127. casper the friendly ghost is the son of the queen of darkness and has kamen rider eternal as his friend ….jackie chan is the niece of king arthur and a descendant of bruce lee 128. Are y’all just gonna forget the time when Nyan Cat said Goldilocks’ boobs were too big and her teammate Bruno Mars did a shadow clone jutsu while fighting Snow White 129. Or when Goldilocks broke Hermes’ leg during a tournament because Aladdin tricked Goldilocks into thinking Hermes was trying to get in a dirty hit for losing. 130. Remember when the Beast cut off Goldilocks arm? Or when Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Belle, and Snow White fought Pinocchio while he was in giant mech? Or when Cleopatra and the Roman god Hermes teamed up to fight some hot chocolate and green tea? 131. Remember when Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood’s dad ‘Burnie from RoosterTeeth’ sent Toto in a can via mail causing Belle to instantly despise the 'beast’ and Snow White to Instantly fall in love with the small dog 132. Also, Goldilocks, in her path to reunite with Little Red Riding Hood, goes to Huginn’s camp of bandits, only to request Huginn to open a portal to Muninn; who is also the Scarecrow, who is following Little Red Riding Hood, while there, she finds and helps Snow White escape the cage that Huginn put her in. 133. When will Red Riding Hood kiss Pinocchio 134. Don’t forget that people want Elsa and the Scarecrow to hook up, but the Tinman is trying to keep them apart 135. Or that one time when the velveteen rabbit killed a bunch of robots and everyone was gay for her for like an hour 136. Or when Achilles violently murdered Pinocchio in front of a huge crowd of people, on national television, by accident. Or when Little Red Riding Hood watched Achilles get murdered right in front of her eyes and awoke some magic power that nearly killed Cinderella. Or when the Beast violently stabbed and murdered Shere Khan so he could take over their violent extremist group. 137. Don’t forget Cinderella pouting because her fairy godmother wouldn’t let her go on a murder spree 138. We don’t always agree with ships, but I think we all agree the velveteen rabbit belongs with Coco Chanel. 139. The fandom is torn apart because people can’t decide if Belle should make out with Goldylocks or the Monkey King while everyone was suddenly very gay for Shir Khan in volume 5. 140. And everyone wants Belle to either make out with Goldilocks or the Monkey King.And the Wicked Witch choked the Cowardly Lion with a jellyfish while Dr Watson watched.Also Lampwick and an ice cream cone were the best characters. And the seven dwarves were just one guy with D.I.D. And Little Red Riding Hood gouged out Cinderella’s eye with eye lasers.

Which means that subsitituting in various plot elements with their mythological counterparts makes it sound super weird. A GLAMOROUSLIST EVENT, COME TO THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS.

Emerald Lake is situated in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, on a private island in British Columbia. Several one bedroom cabins are scattered on the edge the lake, giving you the perfect view. Every cabin is equiped with king sized or double beds (also bunk beds for those who want to bring the kids along), a cozy living room with streaming services and tv, fully equiped kitchen and a private pool/tub on the deck. Come along and join us with daily activities and events.

This event will be running from the 29th of July until the 4th of August, please have a look under the cut for your roommate listing, as well as an itinerary and cabin information for the trip! More details will follow closer to the trip.

Each cabin is a cozy, warm two to four bedroom cabin, with an ensuite and no kitchen. The two bedroom cabin is perfect for couples, while the three or four bedroom cabins are perfect for those with children or singles. Hello! I've not updated my fic in a while, I know, but exams have finally finished and I'm ready to write. To help me with this process, I've made a Spotify playlist to listen to in the background. I imagine Phil would sing the ballad long after his sons are gone. Techno is the Soldier, Wilbur is the Poet, and Tommy is the "Ruler". It goes in the order of their births and aligns with their DnD classes/arcs. I will not explain Tommy being a ruler at this time.

I felt off adding Passerine and Ain't No Crying because the former is connected to another Sleepy Bois fic and the latter is a fan song that I felt related mostly to Tommy in the c!wars. But, in the end, they still suited my Tommy. He feels like he's been trapped behind some glass display case his entire life, everyone treating him like he could break at any moment. He's actually quite mature under all of the lighthearted jokes, and he keeps the other three together. He's the glue, and arguably the most vital person to their "party".

Techno is a very conflicted man. He loved his mother but resented his father for some time after her death. He was a child and assumed his father could have done more to save her. As he grew up, he realized he was wrong and was finally developing a good relationship with his father. Then, he watched his father die on the battlefield. He resented him for coming back and not understanding what he was feeling. Phil didn't even realize Techno saw his death.

And, despite how he may try to convince himself otherwise, he enjoys doing it. He tries to hide this part of himself from his family, and only wants the best for all of them - especially Tommy.

So I saw this 100 Questions About Your OTP post, and I decided to do them for Hiccanna! And...I am never doing one of these memes again, because this took forever XD I decided to split it in two to avoid just creating a giant Monster Post. Especially kinda lopsided weird ones with sunflowers and shit. Hiccup likes them a lot too but is too embarrassed to ever admit it 2. Who is the one who likes to cuddle? Probably Anna tbh, she’s extremely huggy and cuddly and basically always initiates the cuddle sessions. Hiccup is secretly super grateful for this because he’s actually touch-starved as all hell but absolutely is not aware of it like cmon do you think big tough Stoic hugged him a lot growing up??? Kinda doubt it tbh 3. Who has awful taste in music? Depends on who you ask XD Hiccup has exactly 2 Music Moods--Stuffy classical orchestal stuff with a bunch of fancy violin and flute and whatnot, and edgy underground alternative hipster nonsense from bands no one has ever heard of. Anna, meanwhile, is a simple woman, who listens almost exclusively to shitty, catchy-butvery-unoriginal Top 40 hits and belts along with them to the radio, much to Hiccup’s chagrin XD 4. Who is the meme lover? A N N A she is a memelord supreme 5. How did their second date go? An...oddly specific question XD But I’ll take a stab at it. I imagine on their first date they went to see some high fantasy epic movie with fancy CGI (they’d both be HELLA into that--Anna for the magic and epic romances and Hiccup for the interesting magical creatures) and then gushed about it for hours afterwards, so their second date might be something a bit more lowkey where they’d just talk and hang out. I feel like they both probably are coffee addicts, so...a coffee shop date, maybe? And Anna gets some kinda chocolate pastry, of course! 6. How many children do they want/have? Tbh unpopular opinion probably, but I actually don’t think Hiccup and Anna would necessarily want kids??? They’re definitely the kind of couple who would love exploring the world and taking spontaneous adventures together, and you can do a lot less of that when kids are typing you down. Not to mention I think the full-time responsibility of having a kid would be pretty exhausting to Anna in particular, as someone who identifies with her a lot and has never wanted kids because even thinking about it makes me tired XD I mean sure, Anna has a nurturing side that comes out with Elsa sometimes, but she doesn’t have to use that ALL THE TIME (since Elsa is a grown-ass adult usually capable of sound judgement) like she would with a kid. But ALL THAT SAID if they DID end up having kids I don’t think they’d go too crazy with it, probably just 1. Or 2 at the VERY most. 7. Who hides the weapons? You mean like...in an AU where they’re infiltrating an enemy fortress or something? Probably Anna, since she’s the more innocent and harmless-looking of the two XD 8. Who is the better dancer? They both can’t dance for SHIT it’s absolutely cringeworthy but probably Anna at the end of the day because she probably spent a lot of time practicing in those empty ballrooms 9. Do/Did they have a theme wedding? They’d probably want to have some kind of a magic high fantasy theme, since they’d both be hella into that--and then it ends up morphing into “Dragons and Princesses” XD Anna ends up getting over-the-top fancy princess dresses for all of her bridesmaids and Hiccup has the time of his damn life making basically everything in the buffet dragon-themed. The cake is like half dark green or black scale-patterned and half fancy-patterned spring green tiers. It’s quite the event of the decade! 10. What do their parents think of them dating? Valka absolutely ADORES Anna and thinks she’s perfect for her son--the perfect blend of cheerful and compassionate when she needs to encourage him, but also badass and tough-spirited to protect him when she needs to. Stoic doesn’t really like Anna at first--he’s under the (mistaken) impression that she’s a wimp and finds her bubbliness kind of grating and annoying, and generally worries that dating her will just make Hiccup even more of a wimp. He’d rather him date a no-nonsense tough-as-nails asskicker like Astrid in hopes it would toughen him up. However, once Stoic sees Anna do something like punch someone out with no hesitation when they pick on her and Hiccup, Stoic comes around to Anna VERY quickly XD I feel like Agnar and Iduna would just be happy to see their daughter dating a sweet, dorky guy who loves her with all of her being and appreciates her for who she is. As long as he treats her well and makes her feel loved (which he most certainly would because he’s a precious cinnamon roll), he gets their stamp of approval. And hey, anything is an improvement over Hans XD 11. Are they a super sappy couple? Nah. I imagine they do a lot of PDA and probably hold hands or kiss in public a lot, but they’re not like...overly gooey in how they talk to each other, if that makes any sense. If anything, their flirting is painfully awkward, even AFTER they get together XD So much so that when they try to hit on each other in front of their friends their friends are like “oh my god STOP this is too much secondhand cringe for me to bear” 12. How did they get together? I like to imagine they’re friends for a long while but both of them fully 100% believe that the other is ridiculously out of their league and they’re irreparably trapped in the friendzone and one day they’re hanging out with their friends and awkwardly flirting with each other (but of couRse the other person isn’t FLIRTING they’re just being NICE they both figure) and finally Jack just shouts “oh my god will you two just fuck already???” and after a few minutes of utter mortification they just have the world’s most awkward love confession XD Anna finally relents and asks Hiccup on a date, and of course he says yes! 13. Who asked the other to get married? I can honestly imagine either of them asking but probably Hiccup. And he’s SO nervous about it that he starts straight stuttering the first few times he tries to ask and has to stop and change the subject XD He probably gets it finally after like...the 5th time. 14. Who stays up too late and makes stupid jokes? A N N A 100% I headcanon that she has pretty bad insomnia (that’s why she has such a hard time waking up and is so tired in the morning!) so she stays up to the wee hours of the morning with her brain spinning with incredibly weird thoughts and her sense of humor becomes nigh indecipherable after 3 am. 15. Who is the nerd? Hiccup obviously is this even a question??? He spends all day collecting dragon facts and lore and building weird scientific contraptions to help crippled dragons fly WHAT A NERD 16. Who knows the most obscure facts? Hiccup again, he knows so many dragon factoids and random scientific shit that Anna sometimes wonders how he manages to fit anything else in there 17. Who makes the other a flower crown? Anna! She makes ones for both herself and Hiccup and Hiccup begrudgingly wears his but secretly thinks it’s pretty and likes it because it reminds him of his dorky gf :3 18. Who likes to read? Both! I mean Hiccup obviously does because, as established above, he is a nerd, but Anna has canonically read every book in the Arendelle castle library, some twice, so she doesn’t NOT like to read. Hiccup probably reads more, though, between the two of them--Anna often doesn’t really have the attention span for it. 19. Who bothers the other person while the other person reads? ANNA she loves to constantly hang over Hiccup’s shoulder when he reads and drape herself all over him like a needy cat like “PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEEE” and Hiccup just lets out a defeated sigh and starts playing with her hair while reading and hopes this will be enough to appease the little gremlin It usually is 20. Who tutors the other? Hiccup tutors Anna, but she HATES having to ask and is actually pretty insecure about school just generally not coming as naturally to her as it does to Hiccup, so he’s always super patient and understanding with her and tries his very best to never get annoyed or frustrated if she doesn’t catch onto something right away. He doesn’t want her to ever feel stupid because he imagines it feels the same to her as when people call him weak and useless. Slowly but surely, he’s saving Anna’s grades--and building her confidence! 21. Do they have similar taste in movies? Hell yeah! They love that high fantasy shit. I also like to think Hiccup manages to get Anna into some sci-fi and Anna manages to get Hiccup into romcoms (ONLY the good ones, he insists, as he would not be caught dead watching a shitty romcom!) 22. How do their personalities compliment each other? I mean the most obvious one here is that Hiccup’s general pessimism and cynicism compliment Anna’s optimism and cheerfulness really nicely. He would be able to keep her grounded and get her to be more realistic about things, while she would encourage him to see the positive side of bad situations and be more hopeful about things in general. Also I love the contrast of Hiccup’s intelligence and more quiet, snarky nature with Anna’s rather boisterous personality and general naivitey (sp?) and energy. They’re like a downplayed version of the “the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one” trope and I think that’s beautiful. Also, they’d both be great at soothing the other’s isecurities--Anna would be Hiccup’s biggest cheerleader and would believe in him like no one else did, and would stop at nothing to pull him out of it when he started spiraling into self-loathing and thinking he’s a fuck-up. Hiccup, meanwhile, would be so smitten with Anna and would think that it’s the most obvious thing in the world that she’s an amazing human being in her own rite and never has to feel like the “spare” princess living in her sister’s shadow. And saying this without a shadow of a doubt, like it’s common knowledge, is often exactly what Anna needs to hear to feel a little better about herself. 23. How do they tell everyone that they are going to be having a kid/adopting a child soon? I...honestly don’t think they’d be that extra about it??? In fact, they’d be the sort of couple who would be so UN-extra about it that it would do a full 180 and be hilarious. Like they’d be casually brunching with friends and Hiccup would just casually be like “oh by the way, Anna’s 3 months pregnant” or “oh, by the way, we just signed some adoption papers and we’re picking our new kid up on Saturday” and all of their friends would be like “wait WHAT” and Hiccup would be like “Anyways what were you saying about the newest episode of Alien Space Shooters 3000?” XD 24. Who has better fashion sense? Hiccup, probably. I mean, Astrid caught him making OUTFITS! The horror! The dude is also way more effeminate and, uh...clothing-conscientious than he realizes XD Anna has decent fashion sense, but I imagine that’s like 90% because Elsa spices up/makes her outfits since Elsa’s really more of the fashionista XD 25. Who will punch someone out if they are rude to their partner? Try bullying Hiccup when Anna’s around. I dare you. You’re gonna get a fistful of Anna Rage and a very angry redhead screaming “THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY TO MY BOYFRIEND I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU” Look this woman punched a man off a boat and knocked a wolf half a mile away with a guitar thing she absolutely takes no shits and she can and will fuck you up if you so much as lay a finger on her precious dork Hiccup thinks this is really hot btw 26. What songs do they sing together in the vehicle? For whatever reason the first songs that come to mind are “Africa” by Toto and “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey. ALSO “Teenage Dirtbag” by Wheatus since they both are, in fact, teenage dirtbags XD It also like perfectly describes the story of a modern AU where Hiccup the Loser is secretly pining for Anna the Nice Popular Girl who is dating Hans the Douchebag but that’s neither here nor there 27. What other couple would your otp get along with? Jackunzel, Jackunzel, Jackunzel!!! Jack and Hiccup would definitely be bros, even if they are not above mercilessly roasting and/or trolling one another XD And Anna and Rapunzel would be BEST FRIENDS if they ever met and I will DIE on this hill, I legit don’t think Anna would Vibe with any other princess as hard as she vibes with Punzel. They could be ADHD disasters together XD 28. Who likes to prank the other? Anna actually turns out to be quite the closet gadfly and has a secret side that LOVES pranks and generally trolling Hiccup, much to everyone’s surprise and Hiccup’s mild dismay. It’s always pretty innocent and subtle pranks, like switching books on his bookshelf or hiding his various possessions in weird places in the house, but Anna absolutely LIVES for that long, defeated sigh he lets out when he realizes he’s Been Had. 29. Who is the one who loves to take pictures? Anna takes pictures of EVERYTHING on her phone--scenery, flowers, cute animals they come across, weird buildings, pretty fountains, Hiccup when he’s not looking, EVERYTHING XD She also bombs all her social media accounts with selfies of her and Hiccup and captions gloating about how great he is and how you WISH your boyfriend was this cool and rad and Hiccup is both embarrassed and flattered by this. 30. How would they react if they found out they were soul mates? Anna, who probably never stopped fully being a sucker for fairy tale True Love stories and all that shit, would fangirl for hours and hours. Hiccup would just go, “Oh, neat!” and go back to whatever project he was currently working on XD I mean his logic is mainly that regardless of whether it’s “magically destined” or not, he’s gonna date Anna anyway, so it really doesn’t make a scrap of difference to him whether she’s dubbed by some Mystical Higher Power as his soulmate lol 31. Where would they live? Well...SOMEWHERE in Scandinavia, since that’s canonically where both Berk and Arendelle are XD I kinda like the idea of them spending part of the year in Berk and part in Arendelle...maybe spring and summer in Berk, and fall and winter in Arendelle? I imagine spring and summer are when there’s the most interesting dragon activity in Berk, and winter’s probably pretty festive and colorful in Arendelle, if OFA is anything to go by. And the fall color is pretty too, going by Frozen 2. Seems like a good compromise, since I doubt either of them would want to permanently move away from their homes. 32. What type of dragon would they own, if they could have one? Given the shipping this question is HILARIOUSLY ironic Well it just so happens they would have a type of dragon called a Night Fury and name him Toothless XD Anna would probably have a dragon of her own too--I conversed with someone on fanfic.net and did some research into all the HTTYD dragons, and I think the one I like her most with is a sand wraith, since they live on the beach and Anna certainly seems to like the beach, if her throwaway comment complaining Elsa doesn’t have “tropical” powers is anything to go by XD 33. If they were both vampires, what type of vampires would they be? First of all, fuck you for making me google “Types of Vampires” and then getting me aggravated because like nowhere on the internet is there a straightforward list of vampire "species” that isn’t like 5 miles long or just a meme XD Welp, I couldn’t really find a list of vampire species that wouldn’t take forever to look over, so I wrote a summary for a vampire fanfic instead Anna turns first. I imagine probably Hans turns her--tricks her into falling in love with him without knowing he’s a vampire, and then biting her when she’s off-guard to basically try to make her into a spooky sex slave or something. Anna starts seeing Hiccup in secret (who she knew before--he’s still human at this point), and eventually he asks her to turn him so that he can be with her without her outliving him and also so that they can team up and fight Hans together. Anna has a lot of reservations about turning him, but finally agrees. They end up kicking Hans out of his spooky vampire castle and taking it for themselves XD Anna eventually makes the best of being a vampire, and has a blast wearing all manor of fancy dresses and throwing extravagant balls. She’s pretty bummed about never getting to gorge herself on garlic bread again, though :( Hiccup doesn’t much like it, especially since a lot of animals are scared of him now and he doesn’t Vibe with nature quite like he used to D: Nonetheless, he decides to use the immortality to do some pretty neat projects and work on his contraptions and inventions and whatnot. I imagine they eventually devolve into kind of a vigilante duo, and make a point of only hunting down and feeding on bad people who are actively hurting or abusing other people or animals. A pretty good incentive to not like...do violent crime in this AU is those creepy old wives’ tales people tell their kids like “don’t be an asshole when you grow up, or the Haddock vampires will get you!” 34. What would they dress up as, for Halloween? Well Hiccup would be some sort of dragon, obviously! Anna I have no idea...but I kinda like the idea of her just dressing up as a generic fairy tale princess and then going around with Hiccup like “oh no, this dragon kidnapped me!” Both their friends and various trick-or-treaters get a kick out of the whole bit. 35. Can they name each other’s favourite food? But of course! Anna’s is chocolate, krumkake, and sandwiches, and Hiccup’s is crabcakes (yes, all this is actually canon! I do my research for fanfiction thank you very much lol). And you can bet they surprise each other by buying one another’s favorite foods all the time! 36. Do they have pet names for one another? In my fanfic I always have Hiccup come up with SO MANY for Anna, like in my Fire!Anna AU fanfic alone I have Fire Hazard, Firecracker, and probably a few others I can’t remember One headcanon I really like is that whenever Anna is especially ready to attempt to kick the ass of something she really should NOT fight (such as a giant snowman), Hiccup physically has to hold her back and goes “Whoa, slow down there, tiger” and this happens so frequently that eventually it gets shortened to just calling her Tiger XD And hey, with the orange hair and the feistiness, it still fits! As for Anna, she usually just calls Hiccup Dragon Boy or Nerd XD 37. How do they cheer each other up? I imagine Hiccup probably tries to distract Anna from whatever’s bothering her by making her laugh and talking in dumb accents or imitating his dad XD Anna would probably try to help Hiccup stay optimistic about a bad situation and try to point out the positives, but more in an encouraging way than like...an obnoxious, condescending “oh, it could be worse, count your blessings!” kind of way. And Anna has so much peppy energy about it that it actually does sometimes manage to pierce Hiccup’s cynicism and make him feel a bit better, if only for a little while before he starts once again imagining everything that could possibly go wrong XD 38. Do they show a lot of PDA? Eeeeeyup XD They looooove holding hands in public, and enjoy kissing dramatically in front of the sunset and such. I mean I imagine they don’t have hardcore makeout sessions in public or feel each other up sexually, if only because they don’t want to make people THAT uncomfortable. 39. How old were they when they got together? Depends on the AU you’re using and where in both their respective timelines they meet, but I imagine them meeting either as kids or in their early teens, and then taking so damn long to spit out how they feel that they don’t actually start dating until their late teens or early 20s. 40. Who is the one that would bring the puppy home? If it’s a puppy? Probably Anna. If it’s a kitten or a weird, injured reptile? Deeeefinitely Hiccup. 41. Can they do yoga couple’s poses? They most certainly CANNOT. I like to think Elsa and Honeymaren tried to teach them one time and have a yoga double date (because of COURSE Elsa would suggest that) and it ended with Anna and Hiccup butchering every last pose, repeatedly falling on their asses, and generally having a bad time. Poor Elsa and Honeymaren had to work hard to keep from just losing their shit laughing. 42. What is their song? I mean...I don’t know what their like...OFFICIAL song is, but the songs “West End Kids” by the New Politics and “Paper Rings” by Taylor Swift have always had Big Hiccanna Energy to me. 43. What does their room look like? It’s divided pretty neatly in two. Hiccup’s side has a near-spotless floor, a desk with a perfectly-organized bookshelf and a very chic desk lamp, several movie posters and a hanging whiteboard with miscellaneous invention designs and reminders about random stuff written on it. Anna’s side looks like Hurricane Katrina just swept through, this time with a personal vendetta against snack wrappers. 44. Who would be the one to kill zombies while the other keeps them grounded? Anna would absolutely be the sort to just fuckin tear through hoards of zombies screeching battle cries and knocking them all upside the head with a crowbar, or just straight plowing down an entire hoard with some freaking machine gun she stumbled on and taught herself how to use because she wanted to be badass XD Meanwhile Hiccup is absolutely grateful for the protection because Anna can fuck up a LOT of zombies at once, but he also has to keep the girl from going TOO crazy and accidentally putting her impulsive dumbass in grave peril XD 45. Who makes the other breakfast in bed? Hiccup, for sure. He’s used to being up pretty early because I imagine you get the most dragon-flying and exploring in if you wake up early, and he knows food is basically the only thing that will make Anna not hate getting up, so he makes her breakfast in bed as often as he can to make waking up suck less. And sure enough, after a while Anna starts to hate the morning just a liiiiittle bit less XD 46. Who loves kids more? Anna! Given how fun-loving and energetic she is, she probably loves hanging out with and being around kids. Hiccup likes kids fine, but he often feels kinda awkward and weird around them (I mean...more so than usual XD) because he isn’t sure how to interact with them. When they’re around kids, Hiccup usually follows Anna’s lead on how to talk to them. 47. Do either of them have a crazy ex? Well Anna’s ex attempted to use her to infiltrate and take over a kingdom and then tried to murder her sister so I mean 48. What are their favourite colours? Going by their canon color schemes, I’m guessing Anna’s would probably be like spring green and magenta, and Hiccup’s would be a more dark, foresty green and red. 49. Who likes to cook? Hiccup. Anna can’t cook for shit because she generally doesn’t have the patience for it and would just as soon live off of freezer food if she could because it’s less trouble XD Hiccup is good at making/building things, which actually translates to him being a pretty good chef. He makes Anna food a lot and she absolutely ADORES his cooking. 50. Who is the forgetful one? Anna. Gotta love that ADHD babeyyyy! (I mean I’m practically irl Anna and I am NOTORIOUSLY forgetful so it’s gotta be her XD)

Some Thoughts About Suicide Squad

Hi Geekade readers! I’m not taking to coding as quickly as I’d hoped, and find myself making the hard decision between using my Pi to learn and code or to install Retropie and play games, so I thought I’d take a brief departure from my normal tech talk to discuss another passion of mine: Harley Quinn.

She’s possibly one of the best, most tragic female characters in literature. There’s no one on earth in a better position to be fully lucid while they go insane than she is, nobody who consistently and knowingly chooses her own imprisonment and torture more frequently. It’s like if Jack Sparrow had a law enforcement degree and still made all the same decisions while pirate hunters repeatedly and desperately offered him help and companionship. I could go on, but I have an actual point, so I’ll spare you. As you can imagine, I was both fearful and thrilled as I awaited the Suicide Squad release, rightly imagining Margot Robbie to be absolutely perfect for the part, and wholly unconcerned with the building, meme-fied humiliation of Jared Leto’s Joker. (The Joker, arguably, is inessential to Harley’s transformation‑PLEASE ask me about this, I’d love to tell you.)

Suicide Squad was fine. It was nowhere near the let-down of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (which I’d awaited for 4 years by the time it was regrettably released in theaters instead of burned in the dead of night in ditches somewhere), but nowhere close to as satisfying and funny-while-successfully-introducing-otherwise-unknown-characters-to-mainstream-audiences as Guardians of the Galaxy had been. However, if you’d like to watch Suicide Squad, but also would kind of like to watch a good movie, I’ve got news for you.

Suicide Squad is essentially a DCCU remake of the DCU movie Assault on Arkham, which was released a few years beforehand. It’s, honest to goodness, basically the same movie but instead of being potentially a waste of $9-14 dollars, it’s GREAT and a totally appropriate use of maybe $4 to rent on Amazon Prime. (I know, no smarthome stuff and I still manage to be a shill for Amazon. They’re not even paying me.)

Assault on Arkham is a part of a set of movies and shows that I don’t feel could possibly get enough attention - the Batman Animated Universe, encompassing everything from Batman: The Animated Series (arguably the definitive Batman) to the more recent The Killing Joke, and the upcoming Batman and Harley Quinn (which, AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH). In Assault on Arkham, Mark Hamill returns as the voice of the Joker facing Kevin Conroy as Batman, and Hynden Walch as Harley (Princess Bubblegum/Starfire/Penny from Chalkzone.)

I highly suggest that you go watch Assault on Arkham, but just a warning, there are spoilers ahead.

Assault on Arkham takes place at a time after the Suicide Squad had already been formed, so it saves us the trouble of a full origin tale, but it also begins with a bit of a changeup in the team - both from the Suicide Squad movie gang, and from the formation of the squad in the animated universe. We’re treated to the more characterized and strangely sympathetic King Shark in place of Killer Croc, who in the Suicide Squad movie is bold and violent, but not much else. We’re also introduced to Killer Frost, who is an icy villainess a-la Livewire from B:TAS. She’s sassy and has what appear to be magical ice powers; like Elsa, but mean. Black Spider, a bloodthirsty, crime-hating vigilante also joins the team, apparently only grudgingly in the company of everyone else. We keep Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and Harley Quinn herself, but the dynamics of the team are the same. One hulk, one killer-killer, one elemental, one nutty Australian robber, one entrepreneurial dad, and one crazy former therapist.

Oh - and one sacrificial lamb. Both movies kick off with a “proof of concept”‑someone nobody particularly cares about to prove that Waller will actually blow their heads off. In Assault on Arkham, it’s a raging Red bull called “The KGBeast” who nobody would ever mourn, and in Suicide Squad, it’s “Slipknot,” the man who can climb anything. This proves for us how cruel Waller really is‑and in both movies, Waller gets called out as the devil. This is a reference to the comics, as well as simply a fact. Waller is probably actually Satan.

See‑in each movie‑not only is Task Force X Waller’s vanity project (which is entirely unnecessary and completely inhumane, not to mention a complete violation of the constitutional rights of the prisoners involved), but the main conflict faced by our hostage heroes is a mishap of Waller’s own making. In Assault on Arkham, Waller had slipped a Suicide Seed into the Riddler’s neck to test her prototype, and he figured out how to disarm it, so, she created a fistfull more, stuffed them into some other criminals, and sent them to murder the Riddler. And also, the Joker has supposedly hidden a dirty bomb somewhere in Gotham and Batman is tearing the city apart to find it. (SEE DC? You still could have shoehorned Batman into this movie too.)

But all the plot-relevant stuff aside, the meat of Assault on Arkham is Harley and the Joker. They start the movie out broken up, which, if you follow their relationship as obsessively as I do, you’ll know is not actually an uncommon thing for them. Harley and Mister J are currently canonically canned. She’s even been out with Bruce Wayne on a legitimate and mutually enjoyable date. Heck, she only lives about 40 minutes from me, in Coney Island in a shabby apartment with her pets and pals and her primary non-monogamous partner, Pamela Isley (Ivy). But in Assault on Arkham, Ivy is is still incarcerated, and H&J are on the rocks.

It’s heavily implied, in Assault on Arkham, that Joker had thrown Harley out of a moving car and left her for dead, which might sound familiar because it’s almost exactly what they did in Suicide Squad‑but that’s hardly the only thing he’s done to her, and it’s hard to tell if Dr. Quinzel’s rage in the confrontation in Arkham comes from that particular assault or from his complete and utter destruction of her legitimate career, social abilities, criminal record, and sanity. Let’s say both. Harley starts Assault on Arkham out confidently and unconvincingly unattached and reinforces her apparent split by banging Deadshot.

Ok this part, I see why they didn’t snag for Suicide Squad. Will Smith is 48, and Margot Robbie is 26, and while she’s “Daddy’s Little Monster,” I personally don’t want to see her have a fling with someone who was already on Season 3 of Fresh Prince the year she was born. (Yes, Jared Leto is 45 and no, I don’t want to see her with him either.)

When, in Assault on Arkham, Harley (spoiler) breaks into Arkham with Deadshot, she (spoiler) runs into the Joker in his bulletproof cell and (spoiler): it doesn’t go well. He taunts her as only Mark Hamill’s Joker can, in the seductive and deranged varying pitch of a madman, and she is...triggered. (I got puns.)

She manages to keep it together while firing to help Deadshot with the task they’re there for; planting a small hacking device‑Batman-y technology that allows everyone else to sneak in past security, and here is where I pause to rant about Harley Quinn some more.

She knows that his cell is bulletproof and fires at it anyway. This convinces all of the onlooking guards that she’s currently deranged, and convinces Deadshot that she’s (oh, spoiler) not thrilled with the Joker. Her rampage allows Deadshot to complete their first mission, but it also helps the Joker to escape.

It takes Joker what seems like an hour to realize what she’s done for him, what she later confirms she did on purpose for him. This is one of my favorite pieces of evidence that Harley Quinn is the real criminal mastermind behind Joker’s modern accomplishments. For the other, watch “Mad Love,” Season 4 Episode 21 of Batman: The Animated Series, which Suicide Squad also clipped a bit, free on Amazon Prime. Harley has full knowledge of the entire schematics of Arkham Asylum, because, you know, she worked there, and throughout the movie uses passcodes and shortcuts that move the whole team forward, and she chooses to let her puddin loose in the halls, so she can catch up later. Yes, spoiler, she was faking the whole time, and is more than happy to be daddy’s little monster again. She’s even been hiding the dirty bomb.

Ask me what she gets for it.

So, you might at this point be thinking: Gabbie, you’re bizarrely passionate about this clearly unhealthy couple, but also, this movie sounds nothing like Suicide Squad.

Well, you’re wrong. About the second part, at least. Let me take you through it.

Amanda Waller wakes up one morning and decides to randomly create a huge problem‑murdering the Riddler (or releasing the Enchantress, in Suicide Squad). Granted, nerdy Nigma isn’t nearly as frightening as Cara Delevigne slowly building one of the mechanical space worms from Avengers in downtown Chicago, but both are problematic, and both are entirely Waller’s fault.

She pulls together her team of criminals, puts them through a suit-up montage, kills one of them, then drops their helicopter literally out of the sky into a situation that she does not explain to them fully. The Joker and Harley have some sort of private understanding between one another, as could probably have been expected. In both movies, Harley has a camaraderie with Deadshot. Harley also notably does a Matrix” lean in both movies for no discernable reason.

Inevitably, our villain-heroes are actually the patsies. Also inevitably, both the elemental and the tank are killed in explosions of the neck-bomb or fiery variety. And in both movies, the Joker appears to die in a helicopter crash, though in Suicide Squad, we actually get to see the happy couple reunited, whereas in Assault on Arkham, we’re merely told the body wasn’t found, which, for the Joker, is as good as proof that he’s alive.

To be totally honest with you, my main conclusion is that I’d have killed to see Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in this Suicide Squad movie instead of the one that we got. She was the one part of Suicide Squad that makes watching it worth it, and while Princess Bubblegum did an amazing job in Assault on Arkham, I’d really like to see a live-action portrayal of Harley having her own hidden agenda, but giving us a full range of emotions and a tiny taste of her‑hate?‑for the Joker.

The Suicide Squad Harleen transformation was painfully unfulfilling, but the canonical story of their mad love is actually very interesting. While Suicide Squad paints Quinn as the Joker’s dupe‑tortured to madness and turned to a crime queen‑the older story is a little more compelling. Over multiple sessions, Harleen realizes that the Joker is able to make her laugh again after years of unwavering, humorless professionalism and ambition. Their sessions become discussions, and she falls in love. This not only makes the Joker seem more dangerous, capable of corrupting a psychiatrist with only his words like a genial, gentlemanly, green-haired Charles Manson, but tells us a lot about the good doctor. And it really makes Harley’s blow-up in Assault on Arkham an incredible moment, especially considering that it’s a dupe. How self-aware is Harley? How actively, and independently, is she choosing the Joker again and again? I for one would have enjoyed seeing that explored in Suicide Squad, just a bit more than I enjoyed the pin-up show we got instead.

I hope I’ve convinced you to check out Assault on Arkham. It’s really an amazing movie. And I hope I get a little bit better at Python, so that next month I can get back to writing about technology instead of rambling justifications of clown-on-criminal romance.

2017 NHL mock draft: The trade deadline shakes things up in our 2nd simulation

New needs and no consensus make this draft interesting.

It’s nice to have a NHL entry draft with no clear “best prospect.”

The 2017 NHL draft doesn’t have a Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, or Aaron Ekblad. It doesn’t even have a consensus best 30 players. The top of the draft is as arguable as the late first-round picks following it.

So no wonder our second mock NHL draft looks different from the first. This time, we didn’t use lottery simulators. We just went down the list, but kept the trade deadline movements in mind. Needs have changed!

1. Colorado Avalanche - Timothy Liljegren, D, Rogle (Sweden)

I’m starting to come around to Mile High Hockey’s argument that the Avalanche can’t afford to pass up the best defenseman in the draft. The consensus Best Three™ in the 2017 draft are Nolan Patrick, Nico Hischier, and Liljegren. Two centers and a defenseman. When Tyson Jost joins Nathan MacKinnon in Colorado next season, they’ll be set down the middle for years.

Might as well stock the defense with a prime puck-mover like Liljegren.

2. Arizona Coyotes - Nolan Patrick, C, Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL)

Coyotes fans would hate being left with Patrick or Hischier. Not that they’re not good, but the Coyotes need young defensemen as much as the Avalanche.

In this scenario, though, I tend to think GM John Chayka takes Nolan Patrick. Arizona is blessed with forward talent, but few of them have the skill and size Patrick brings.

3. Vegas Golden Knights - Nico Hischier, C, Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)

Best player available. Hischier is skilled, flashy and as good at setting up teammates as he is putting the biscuit in the basket. Vegas would be thrilled to take him.

4. New Jersey Devils - Casey Mittelstadt, C, Eden Prairie High School (Minnesota)

It sure seems like the Devils might stick with Pavel Zacha on the wing. In that case, expect them to go for a center here if Liljegren isn’t available (he won’t be).

Scouts rave about Mittelstadt’s compete level all over the ice, something that the Devils will no doubt covet. He’s also supremely gifted offensively, making him a talent the Devils can’t pass up. He’ll play for the University of Minnesota next season.

5. Vancouver Canucks - Gabriel Vilardi, C, Windsor (OHL)

Vilardi has all the tools to become a No. 1 center someday: size (6’3), skill (scouts love his effortlessness while making plays), and finishing ability (about to eclipse 30 goals with Windsor this year). By drafting Olli Juolevi and trading for Jonathan Dahlen, the Canucks have added high-end talent on the wings and blue line in the last year.

Taking Vilardi fifth overall would help round out their system.

6. Dallas Stars - Eeli Tolvanen, LW/RW, Sioux City (USHL)

If there’s one thing the Stars are guilty of in recent drafts, it’s not taking forwards with high-end skills. Size and hockey I.Q. are great, but you also need players with game-breaking abilities.

Tolvanen fits that mold. A pure scorer, the USHL star can score at will in so many ways: off the rush with his heavy shot, off a deke, with a slap-shot ... you name it. He’ll play with Boston College next season and could reach the NHL sooner than a lot of the players in this draft.

7. Detroit Red Wings - Cale Makar, D, Brooks (AJHL)

We still like the idea of Makar joining the Red Wings. The crafty right-handed defenseman is rising quickly up draft boards after a 24-goal, 75-point season with the Bandits. Detroit can start their rebuild with the draft’s best power play quarterback.

Makar will head to UMass-Amherst next season.

8. Buffalo Sabres - Owen Tippett, RW, Mississauga (OHL)

With Liljegren and Makar off the board and no defensemen worth reaching for at this spot, Buffalo is left in “best player available” mode.

That’s Tippett, the best scoring winger in the draft not named Eeli Tolvanen. A pure sniper, Tippett is fifth in the OHL with 44 goals this year. With Sam Reinhart, Alexander Nylander, Cliff Pu, and Tippett in the system, the Sabres’ wings will be the envy of the Eastern Conference.

9. Winnipeg Jets - Nick Suzuki, C, Owen Sound (OHL)

Suzuki is a rare gem: an uber-talented penalty killer who can score in bunches. His defensive prowess was well-known before this season, but he erupted into one of the OHL’s best scoring threats with 45 goals and 96 points in 65 games. Winnipeg’s leaky penalty kill would love to have Suzuki join them.

10. Florida Panthers - Klim Kostin, W, Balashikha (KHL)

Two things are going against Kostin right now. First, a shoulder injury ended his season early. Second, he reminds people of Stars winger Valeri Nichushkin: a big, Russian winger with obvious skill but a tendency to pass instead of shoot. And since Nichushkin bolted for Russia last offseason, you’d imagine that might affect his draft status.

But Florida might go against the grain here and take him anyway. With Jaromir Jagr and Jussi Jokinen on the decline, the Panthers could use a bullishly skilled winger in their prospect pool, even if Kostin stays in the KHL to develop for a few years.

11. Philadelphia Flyers - Cody Glass, C/RW, Portland Winterhawks (WHL)

Another late-bloomer like Makar who rocketed up draft rankings this year. Glass is a talented, all-around forward: capable of dishing the puck, finishing plays and responsible up and down the ice. Philadelphia could use him in a number of ways.

12. Carolina Hurricanes - Elias Pettersson, C, Timra IK (Sweden)

At this point of the draft, it’s hard to nail down which player teams would covet more. But Carolina’s so stacked defensively that we know they’ll aim for a forward in the first round.

Pettersson might be the pick. He’s a pure playmaker, with arguably the best vision in the draft. You could see him becoming a true power play threat for the Hurricanes down the road, making him worth a pick here even though he’ll have a longer development than most.

13. Los Angeles Kings - Michael Rasmussen, C, Tri-City (WHL)

Size and skill are a rare combo for centers these days, but Rasmussen fits that mold. His 6’5 frame makes him seem Kings-worthy already, and his poise around the net makes him a valuable offensive presence on the power play.

14. Tampa Bay Lightning - Juuso Valimaki, D, Tri-City (WHL)

Valimaki is a well-rounded two-way defenseman with leadership qualities already apparent at such a young age. Valimaki’s 55 points lead all teenage WHL defensemen this year, indicating he could make a rapid ascent to the NHL.

15. New York Islanders - Callan Foote, D, Kelowna (WHL)

The Isles drafted five forwards in the first round over the last three drafts. All of them (Josh Ho-Sang, Anthony Beauvillier, Mathew Barzal, Michael Dal Colle, and Kieffer Bellows) are already close to NHL-ready.

So New York should spring for a defenseman this year. Foote, son of Adam Foote, will round out their defensive core nicely. At 6’3, Foote is imposing in his own end with a safe, but smart, game.

16. Toronto Maple Leafs - Nicolas Hague, D, Mississauga (OHL)

And so the run on defensemen begins!

With Nikita Zaitsev and Morgan Rielly in the fold, the Maple Leafs aren’t short of puck-movers on the blue line. They are missing a big body, though. Hague is huge, but mobile: a 6’6 defenseman who captains Mississauga’s power play and isn’t afraid to mix things up in his own end. He could be a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Or he could be a master of everything. Toronto will gladly take that risk.

17. St. Louis Blues - Ryan Poehling, C/LW, St. Cloud State (NCAA)

With a year of college hockey under his belt, Poehling could reach the NHL quicker than most of his draft peers. That makes him appealing to a lot of teams, particularly contenders.

So will his two-way ability. Poehling is blessed with the skills of a top center and the smarts of a third-line, shut-down winger. Sounds like a Blue, doesn’t he?

18. Nashville Predators - Martin Necas, C, HC Kometa Brno (Czech Republic)

David Poile will do cartwheels if Necas falls this far.

The only knock on the 5’11 center is that he holds onto the puck too long. But that pass-first mentality is born out of strong vision and speed to burn. The Predators lack a true, high-skill center behind Ryan Johansen. Necas can slot into that role.

19. Boston Bruins - Lias Andersson, C, HV71 (Sweden)

Andersson’s draft stock fell after a quiet World Juniors. The 5’11 center drew attention with a 24-goal season as a 16-year old, but his offensive upside is now in question after a nine-goal season in the Swedish pro league.

His competitiveness isn’t, though. Players with energy, work ethic, and hockey I.Q. are valuable, and the Bruins would make a good fit while Andersson develops his game. And if he re-finds that scoring touch, all the better.

20. Edmonton Oilers - Miro Heiskanen, D, Helsinki HIFK (Finland)

The only knock on Heiskanen? He’s small. That didn’t stop Torey Krug from thriving. It didn’t stop the Stars from drafting Julius Honka. It won’t stop teams from drafting Makar. And it won’t keep the Oilers from jumping at Heiskanen if he falls this far.

Heiskanen disappointed at the World Juniors, but what Finland player didn’t? The Finnish defenseman makes up for his size with an active stick in his own end and can make plays offensively.

21. Calgary Flames - Kristian Vesalainen, LW, Frolunda (SHL)

Calgary should be pleased if Vesalainen is available here. It’s hard to figure why he’s falling in scouts’ eyes. He was such an important player in Finland’s gold medal run in the 2016 World Juniors. Vesalainen has struggled immensely this season, bouncing around Finnish junior and pro hockey with just six goals.

But the talent (skill and a good shot) is there.

22. Anaheim Ducks - Kailer Yamamoto, RW, Spokane (WHL)

The Ducks play a heavy style of hockey, so maybe this is just wishful thinking on our part. Yamamoto is 5’7 but oozes skill. Teams passed on Johnny Gaudreau and Alex DeBrincat because of their size. They all regret it. Anaheim would do well to take Yamamoto here.

23. Ottawa Senators - Maxime Comtois, LW, Victoriaville (QMJHL)

Comtois isn’t the most skilled winger in the draft. He doesn’t have the best shot. But he does have elite speed and a high-energy style that puts opponents back on their heels. He could end up as a top-line winger. He could end up as a bottom-six penalty killer. Whatever role he slides into, Comtois will play it well and make a noticeable impression.

24. Montreal Canadiens - Nikita Popugaev, W, Prince George (WHL)

Just look at the kinds of players Montreal targeted at the trade deadline. Big. Strong. Hard to play against.

Popugaev, a 6’5 winger, is all of those things with skill mixed in. He’s struggled since a trade to the Cougars, a more well-rounded team that spreads the offensive love around.

25. New York Rangers - Pierre-Olivier Joseph, D, Charlottetown (QMJHL)

Joseph is garnering first-round consideration because he’s developed confidence with the puck all over the ice. Once he trusted himself to become more involved offensively, his skill and smarts have impressed scouts. The defense-starved Rangers could take a flier on him here.

26. San Jose Sharks - Conor Timmins, D, Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)

Another defenseman playing his way into first-round status. Timmins boasts one of the hardest shots in the draft and leads the OHL in even-strength points. San Jose’s younger forwards are coming along nicely this season, so the Sharks could shore up their blue line with a prospect like Timmins.

27. Arizona Coyotes (from Wild) - Urho Vaakanainen, D, JYP (Finland)

Vaakanainen has the tools to become a strong puck-moving defenseman. Right now, he feels like a “safe” player destined to at least become a quality top-six talent. Arizona might bet on the former.

28. Chicago Blackhawks - Shane Bowers, C, Waterloo (USHL)

Bowers seems like a Jonathan Toews clone: great two-way play with a great shot and great hockey senses. The only question is how high his ceiling is. That question didn’t exist with Toews, and it doesn’t exist with the other centers taken ahead of Bowers.

29. Columbus Blue Jackets - Lukas Elvenes, RW, Rogle (Sweden)

A smart, crafty winger, but one-dimensional right now. Columbus’ Stanley Cup window is just opening, so they have time to let a player like Elvenes work on developing his all-around game. The tools are there, though.

30. Pittsburgh Penguins - Matthew Strome, LW, Hamilton (OHL)

Here’s a risk: a player with the Strome family pedigree and a physical brand of play, but poor foot-speed keeping his ceiling low.

31. St. Louis Blues (from Capitals) - Kole Lind, RW, Kelowna (WHL)

If St. Louis goes all-around with their first pick, they can afford to go all-skill with Lind at 31. Lind might be one of the better goal-scorers in the first round as far as instinct goes. It’s just a matter of whether he can get stronger.

I personally have a sort of coding system for my Alters , having had DID for over ten years (since I was about 8) However I have only had therapy for it, and a diagnosis for three. So I for a long time I had to cope and deal with it on my own; having been raised in an extremely Christian household where the first time I said I was feeling depressed, my mother had me exorcised for fear of being possessed. I learned very quickly that although my mother loved me , I couldn’t talk to her about my disorder. So I coped on my own. Bullying was a large part of the trauma I experienced so friends where not a big thing for me. Recently in the last three years I have found a wonderful best friend who supports me and my Alters and has a good friendship with some of them as well. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Entertainment

Another huge part of the celebration is the event exclusive holiday entertainment, and this year the returning favorites are fantastic!

Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration: Mickey and his pals invite some of their friends over for an unforgettable Christmas party filled with music, dancing, color and fun on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage! The celebration features medleys of delightful holiday songs both classic and contemporary, along with special effects, magical projections and beloved Disney characters including Woody and Jessie from “Toy Story,” Fantasyland friends such as Peter Pan and Snow White.

A Frozen Holiday Wish: Arendelle royalty and their lovable snowman visit Magic Kingdom Park to help everyone feel the wintry chill in the air and love in their hearts. “A Frozen Holiday Wish,” presented on the Castle Forecourt Stage, features Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff. As a gift to the kingdom, Elsa lets it go and uses her icy powers to transform Cinderella Castle into a sparkling palace of ice. (Keep in mind that this only happens once a night during the party, but will happen before the party officially begins if you arrive early)

“A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas”: Buzz Lightyear, Mike Wazowski and Stitch join host Haley Comet for an intergalactic musical revue on the Rockettower Plaza Stage. The show is full of modern twists on classic holiday songs and the coolest dance numbers in town!

Club Tinsel: located inside Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in Tomorrowland, becomes the coolest place to get down with a DJ and some North Pole pals in the cheeriest dance party this side of Santa’s Workshop!

The Edge Effect: Experience the incredible vocal harmonies in an unforgettable, a cappella holiday concert live on the the Rockettower Plaza Stage.

Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jingle Jam: Young partygoers can get their groove on with their favorite Disney Junior Characters.

Stepping off in Frontierland, the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade fills the streets of the Magic Kingdom with holiday fun and cheer featuring some of your favorite Disney characters, iconic marching soldiers & prancing reindeer, and ending with the big guy himself.

The Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade happens twice during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and typically the second parade is less crowded.

Holiday Wishes Fireworks – Celebrate the Spirit of the Season

Holiday Wishes Fireworks – Celebrate the Spirit of the Season is the holiday nighttime fireworks and pyrotechnic spectacular that lights up the skies above Cinderella Castle that is set to some familiar and favorite holiday songs with touches of Disney magic.

PLEASE keep in mind that this only happens once during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, so if this is a priority make sure you keep track of the time. The best viewing areas are in front of Cinderella Castle, and while getting there early is still a good idea it isn’t a necessity.

Throughout the Magic Kingdom you can find characters, their locations are marked on the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party maps with a Mickey Mouse silhouette and in the My Disney Experience app, during the party that are exclusive to the event.

Holiday Music Happening in Tomorrowland – A new a cappella group will sing holiday favorites in Tomorrowland during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Look for them in between performances of “A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas”!

New Sweet-and-Savory Party Debuts on Town Square – Tony’s Most Merriest Town Square Party will debut this year as part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. In this special experience, guests will discover a mix of sweet and savory treats including Tony’s famous meatballs, red velvet cupcakes and much more. The $99/person ticket also includes beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as special reserved viewing for Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade.

Ticket pricing for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party varies by date and range in price from $95 to $125 plus tax for adults (ages 10 and up), $90 to $120 plus tax for children (ages 3-9), and children under 2 are free.

You will save some by purchasing your tickets in advance, and there are select dates that have discounts for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club owners.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2018

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is the very veriest, merry merriest event of the Holiday Season.

This special ticketed event runs on 22 select nights from November 8th 2018 and finishes on December 21st 2018.

Mickey and all his favorite friends will be at the party: Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and Daisy all wearing their festive finest.

The Seven Dwarfs, Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws and Scrooge McDuck will also be making appearances for unique photo ops. A whole host of favorite characters will also be showing up for meet and greets throughout the night.

New to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2018

There are a few new events at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2018. Firstly, The Edge Effect are an acapella group who will be performing in Tomorrowland Stage. Also, Tony's Most Merriest Town Square Party is a new dining upgrade. Finally, Disney Junior Jingle Jam is a dance party in Storybook Circus.

A Frozen Holiday Wish

Music, comedy, snow, shimmering lights and warm hugs. What's not to love?

A Frozen Holiday Wish brings Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf together on the Castle Forecourt Stage for a short live show. Queen Elsa gives the precious gift of transforming the Castle into a shimmering spectacle of dazzling lights. Castle Dream Lights are so beautiful and you'll be in awe as the Castle comes alive with over 200,000 sparkling lights.

You can see the Castle transform from anywhere along Main Street USA and a little off to each side. You'll need to be near the stage if you want to be close enough to see the characters clearly.

The show is held at dusk every night (party nights and non party nights). For those visiting earlier in November, A Frozen Holiday Wish will be starting on November 4th 2018.

Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration

A live stage show that brings Mickey and pals and a whole crew of colorful characters together for a Holiday soiree.

Each time the doorbell rings, the Castle magnificently changes before your eyes and more characters arrive to join in the Party celebrations. Sing along to classic and contemporary Holiday tunes and watch in wonder as the castle transforms to an ever-changing magical backdrop.

Festive is the order of the day and this show oozes with seasonal fun and frolics.

If you want to see the actual characters and actors you will need to be fairly close to the stage. However, the music and castle projections make it just as enjoyable if you can't get close enough.

The show is held 4 times a night on Castle Forecourt Stage. 7.40pm, 9.25pm, 10.30pm, 11.55pm.

With so many children raised up on shoulders as the show starts, it makes for very limited viewing for those behind.

Phones and cameras raised high to record don't help matters either. To avoid a blocked view, try to stand behind a family without young children.

As many families leave after the fireworks, the later shows generally don't have too many eight foot tall children to block your view. The midnight show is the perfect time to get a great view as the crowds have dwindled dramatically by then.

Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade

The Parade to end all parades. Don't miss this under any circumstances!

Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade starts off from Frontierland twice a night at 8.30pm and 11.00pm.

The parade is crammed with favorite characters dressed in Holiday finery and accompanied by a whole host of Christmas friends.

The music is magical, the characters colorful and the floats enchanting.

The marching Toy Soldiers are a personal favorite of ours. The sounds of the marching stomping feet just adds something extra special.

The second parade is always much quieter than the first, as many families with smaller children head home after the fireworks. If you don't want to watch it twice, you can take the opportunity to meet characters, see other shows or take advantage of shorter ride lines during the first parade.

Watching Mickey's Once Upon A Christmastime Parade from Main Street USA makes it so much more magical.

The snow, lighting and atmosphere puts the icing on the Christmas cake, so it's well worth staking out a spot early. It also gives you the sparkling Castle as the backdrop to make your pictures even better. Try to stand somewhere between the buildings on Main Street USA. People will start saving spots at least an hour prior to the parade, especially for the early show.

Holiday Wishes - Celebrate the Season

This spectacular fireworks extravaganza will thrill all ages. Absolutely do NOT miss this for anything!

The dazzling fireworks are bigger, better, wider, louder and longer. Splashes of Christmas color fill the skies with exploding presents. And Jiminy Cricket narrating the importance of being home for the Holiday season is the icing on the cake.

Fireworks Showtime: 10pm

Wishes Fireworks Viewing Spots:

Wide Bursts: The firework bursts during Holiday Wishes are much wider than regular fireworks shows, so you don't want to stand too close to the Castle, otherwise you'll miss the full experience. Likewise, you don't want to stand too far down Main Street, otherwise you'll only see the bursts above the castle, the buildings will block the perimeter bursts. Standing a little further back from the Castle will give you an overall view. Somewhere between the hub and Casey's Corner will give you an overall terrific view.

Quick Exit: If you have little ones and want an easy exit strategy right after the fireworks, stand at the far end of Main Street - you won't get a perfect view of the fireworks, but you'll exit much quicker. A lot of guests with younger children do leave after the fireworks.

Free Fireworks! If you are around and not attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, you can get a great view of the fireworks from the boat landing at the Ticket & Transportation Center. You can see the full width of the bursts, plus the reflection on the lagoon, so it makes for great pictures. Like anywhere else, the good spots at the front will be taken pretty quickly, so don't wait until the last-minute to get there!

Dance Parties & Live Entertainment

No party would be complete without a dance party! Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party has two.

A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas: Host Haley Comet is accompanied by Stitch, Mike Wazowski, Buzz Lightyear and a troupe of intergalactic dancers. They all add their interstellar takes on popular Christmas tunes, while the crowd around the stage dance away and join in the fun.

Club Tinsel: Over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café, you can dance the night away with a host of holiday characters and awesome Christmas dance music.

Disney Junior Jingle Jam New for 2018, the Disney Junior Jingle Jam will be held at Storybook Circus. A Halloween version of this already made a debut at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

The Edge Effect A brand new attraction for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. The Edge Effect are an Orlando based acapella group. Winners of MTV's "Top Pop Group" and Boyz II Men's "Next Great A Cappella Group". The were also America's Got Talent finalists. The Edge Effect combines pop, R & B, jazz, rock, and funk in a show unlike any other.

Character Meet & Greets

There are always rare characters making appearances at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. You'll see the Seven Dwarfs, Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws and Nick & Judy too.

Many of the characters are dressed in Holiday finery, which can make very special pictures.

Also on the rare appearance list are the Princes. It's not often they come out to escort their beautiful Princesses. Fans will want to make the most of them.

As your Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party ticket gives you access from 4pm, make the most of the earlier hours meeting as many of the characters that are available. Not all will appear that early, but you will get the opportunity to see some prior to the official party.

Photopass Photographers will be at every location to snap your memories, plus at other locations throughout the park all night.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Upgrades

If you're looking to upgrade your party night, there are a few options you can add on. Two Holiday Dessert Parties and also Tony’s Most Merriest Town Square Party.

Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party

There are two Dessert Party options available for the 2018 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Dessert Parties:

The Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace gives you reserved viewing of Holiday Wishes: A Celebration of The Season at Tomorrowland Terrace. All guests taking this option have seating for the fireworks, although all are on a first come first serve basis. Tickets are $84 for adults and $50 for children ages 3 to 9, tax on top.

The Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party at Plaza Garden gives you a dessert party at Tomorrowland Terrance, followed by a reserved standing area in Plaza Gardens for Holiday Wishes: A Celebration of the Season. Tickets are $69 for adults and $41 for children aged 3 to 9, plus tax.

Tony’s Most Merriest Town Square Party

New for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2018 is Tony’s Most Merriest Town Square Party. From 9.30pm to 12.30am you'll be able to pop in and out all night long. Indulge in savory hors d’oeuvres including a selection of artisanal meats and cheeses. There will also be Tony’s famous meatballs, mini hand-tossed pizzas, boursin-stuffed artichoke and lots more. And no Christmas party would be complete without sweet treats. You'll be able to munch on pumpkin tartlets, Yule Logs, cannoli, Christmas cookies and red velvet cupcakes.

And the icing on the cake? You'll get access to a special reserved viewing area for the truly enchanting 11pm Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade. Watch as it makes its way down Main Street, U.S.A.

The cost is $99 per person plus tax. Admission to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is required to attend. You can see full details at Disney Parks Blog.

Tips for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

#1 Arrive Early Even though Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party doesn't start until 7pm, your ticket gives you access from 4pm. Go early and meet characters, do some rides, do some shopping and make the most of the extra 3 hours.

#2 Stay Late The party doesn't finish until midnight. If you don't have kids, or if the kids can last, stay as late as possible to enjoy a quieter experience. The later parade is always a little quieter so it's easier to get a great position. The last show of Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration is at 12.00am so you can stay to watch that with a lot fewer people in front of you.

#3 Have A Plan To make sure you fit in all the shows and events, you'll need to study the various times and have a timescale planned out. In between the shows and parades you can meet characters, do some rides (with less lines than normal) and enjoy the park and atmosphere.

#4 Pack Your Patience Although it's limited entry during party nights and rides will have shorter lines, It's still going to be busy. Even more so if you are visiting on peak dates. Make sure you pack plenty of patience and just enjoy the magical Holiday atmosphere.

#5 Eat Early You don't want to pay a small fortune for a Party Ticket and waste precious time sitting down for dinner. Eat before you go to the park and top up on snacks during the night if you feel hungry. There's way too much fun to be had to waste time on eating! If you can't last that long without dining, consider eating between 4pm to 7pm before the actual Party events start. There will be 3 full service restaurants open during MVMCP which are:

#6 Have a Rest Day If you plan to head to the Party at 4pm, don't forget it lasts until midnight so it could be an 8 hour stint. Spend the day relaxing at home so your energy levels are fully charged for the evening ahead.

#7 Dress in Layers Some nights can get a little chilly (or even downright cold!) Make sure you pack a jacket or sweater to keep you warm just in case. If the kids are using a stroller, take a blanket for them to snuggle under.

#8 Pack A Poncho Although it's not officially rainy season, we do still get rain in the winter months. As long as you have poncho's with you, you're good to go. You can purchase them in the parks, but they will be cheaper in the stores like Walmart, Target and Publix. If you're staying in one of our vacation homes, you'll find ponchos in the closets. No need to buy any!

#9 Remember Where You Park Take an image with your phone where you park and at what section. Remembering where you parked after 8 hours of partying might not be so easy!

#10 Pack Some Power Make sure you have spare batteries or a portable charger for your camera, video or phone. No doubt you'll be clicking away all evening. Make sure you don't run out of memory space or battery by having spares and a back-up. You can also purchase portable charging systems located throughout Walt Disney World. For $30, you will receive a fully charged portable battery with cables that fit most Apple and Android devices. When the battery runs down you can either recharge it again, or swap it for a fully charged battery free of charge.

#11 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for FREE! The last Party is on December 21st. If you are visiting from December 22nd, you'll have all the main elements of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party thrown in for free.
