a star trek tng story
Data and Geordie are working on an experiment to create not just a contained singularity but a whole star system. they're close to success when something goes wrong and Data finds his systems failing critically.
like in Tapestry, Data meets Q who shows him an alternate timeline. enter Jim. in this world Data goes by the name Jimmy T. Data and is a comedian instead of a scientist. rather than inventing things he tours the federation as a show act.
Data explores his new life but eventually decides that their best shot at safeguarding the new tech is to return to his regular life. he does take away an ability to generate spontaneous quips however.

Hello, I prepared some statistics to give you a short overview of Ghost's amazingly successful 2022. It is based on data I collected between 22/12/2021 and 22/12/2022.
-
The big Ghost event of 2022 was of course the release of the band's fifth album, IMPERA.
Since March 11, it has sold nearly 500,000 copies, won the American Music Award for Favorite Rock Album and received a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance ('Call Me Little Sunshine').
Within the first week of its release, the album reached #2 on the Billboard 200 (ranking the 200 most popular music albums and EPs in the United States) and ranked in the top 20 best-selling albums in 19 countries across the world:
#1 in Sweden, Austria, Germany, Finland, Spain
#2 in US, UK, Belgium, Norway, Netherlands
#3 in Australia, Canada
#5 in Switzerland, Ireland, France
#7 in Poland
#8 in Hungary
#12 in Denmark, Portugal
#20 in Italy
IMPERA is Ghost’s best charting album to date.
-
On YouTube, the band amassed a staggering 260 million views. 840,000 people subscribed to the channel this year, which makes up 42% of all current subscribers.
5 most watched videos on YouTube in 2022:
Mary On A Cross (Official Audio) – 32 million views
Call Me Little Sunshine (Official Music Video) – 15 million views
Square Hammer (Official Music Video) – 11 million views
Mary On A Cross (Live in Tampa 2022) – 8.2 million views
Spillways (Official Music Video) – 6.8 million views
-
On Spotify, the band amassed 1,285,625 new followers. That’s around 61% of all followers since the band appeared on the platform.
5 most streamed songs on Spotify in 2022:
Mary On A Cross -  193,709,473 streams
Call Me Little Sunshine – 41,108,589 streams
Square Hammer – 29,720,042 streams
Dance Macabre – 26,494,053 streams
Spillways – 24,910,870 streams
-
It goes without saying that the viral success of Mary On A Cross on TikTok brought in a lot of new fans this year, but the magnitude of it becomes even more astonishing if you look at numbers.
On this graph, I marked a few events that resulted in a noticeable spike in the number of monthly listeners on Spotify, including the approximate time when MOAC began to gain traction on TikTok. As you can see, nothing, not even the release of a new album, gave the band as much attention as the 3-year old song suddenly raising in popularity on one single platform.
Tumblr media
Between end of July and beginning of October, the number of monthly listeners on Spotify skyrocketed from 2.5 million to 12 million. This is a 380% increase.
Although the numbers have been in decline since then, it appears that for the past month they have stayed at a steady 9 million. As of today (Dec 22, 2022) the exact number is 9,110,996. Exactly a year ago (Dec 22, 2021) the number was 1,999,951. A hefty 355% increase in only a year.
-
Some other milestones and fun facts:
On June 7, Cirice, Dance Macabre, and Square Hammer were all certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of 500,000 units in the USA. Following the viral success, Mary On A Cross was also certified Gold on November 20.
The band's most liked post on Instagram this year was a video of Papa throwing the first pitch at the White Sox game (273,241 likes).
The episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live where Ghost performed Call Me Little Sunshine was watched by around 1.3 million people.
In September, Ghost reached over 12 million monthly listeners on Spotify and was the 450th most streamed artist globally - that's 450 out of over 11 million!
As of today with over 1.6 billion accumulated streams Ghost is one of the 1,000 most successful artists on the platform of all time (currently #808).
On September 11, Mary On A Cross peaked at #1 in the Viral Hits chart on Spotify in 54 countries across the world.
It was also the highest charting Swedish song on the platform in 2022, peaking globally at #31.
-
At this point I think it’s safe to declare that Ghost’s global success reached unprecedent heights this year and even allowed them to officially join the ranks of mainstream artists. With all of the above, 70 completed shows this year and many more to come in 2023, and with media of the likes of The Wall Street Journal proclaiming Ghost “the next generation of arena stars,” it looks like that the band is well on the way to become one of the biggest rock acts of this century. Not bad for a side project started by one Swede in his bedroom somewhere in Linköping.
Let us hope 2023 will be as devilishly good!

You think you're gonna take us down? Well Mechanical Man you just try it! You're gonna ride that rail out of town cause it's a
ROBOT RIOT!!
Welcome one and all, organical and mechanical alike to the Robot Riot! Here we're going to pit robots and their meatbag pals against one another to see who is the truly superior team!
What exactly does that mean? Up to you! Are they playing Monopoly? Are they fighting to the death? Who knows! Either way it's a Robot Riot! Maybe they're having a joke competition, then it's a Robot Laugh Riot. Vote using whatever criteria you want; I will not judge you. Publicly. Probably.
So before we get to that little submission form, a couple rules.
Each team must consist of 1 robot + 1 organic buddy pal partner colleague etc. AI count, so duos like Master Chef + Cortana or Epsilon + Carolina qualify, and pets count, so duos like Data and Spot or Jimmy and Goddard count.
The only qualifiers are that the relationship must have received some kind of attention from the narrative (ex Boyd and Huey but not Boyd and Dewey), and the relationship must be positive (ex Data and Geordi, Data and Riker) or neutral (ex PotatOS and Chell, Norm and Doofenshmirtz). If you're unsure or the canon is unclear, it'll go to the judges.
I am still on the fence about trios; tentative ruling is if the relationship is strong on all three sides feel free to submit it, but specify which two you'd prefer to submit as a duo just in case I decide not to do trios.
Don't spam submissions! Numbers aren't even going to be the only factor in choosing who gets in anyway so it's not even guaranteed to help, but if I suspect you're spamming one duo I may disqualify them. One submission per duo per person.
One duo per submission! If you have more than one duo, submit them separately, please.
No ocs (sorry), no characters from Harry Potter or Critical Role, no real people.
Submissions will remain open till Sunday, August 13, 2o23, which will give you plenty of time and me a chance to get through my current tournament.
And here's the submission form:
Obligatory tagging some other polls for visibility under the cut:

All Formula One Race Winners
The general state of Formula One fan spaces has been hellish, to say the least. It is a cesspool of hate for drivers, hate for fans who just want to watch their driver, and rumors. While I do generally avoid most of it by heavily curating my feeds and timelines, it has been everywhere and nearly unavoidable. It also led me to revisit my original post of Formula One Race Winners and Where They Won From instead of focusing on my somewhat regularly scheduled F1 history posting.
That post had been a slice of the larger pie and focused on just drivers from this season and drivers that I personally liked to watch. This post delves a little bit deeper into race winners as a whole.
So I spent the weekend going through all 113 Formula One race winners and compiling the following information:
Name (obviously)
Country they raced under
Number of wins
Number of championships
Race starts
Percentage of races won out of their total race starts
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have found what true insanity looks like and it is combing through 113 Wikipedia pages because I was annoyed.
The chart was color-coded for easier viewing.
In the yellow color, we have all the world champions who are no longer racing in Formula One. The three world champions who are still racing in Formula One, they're color-coded in purple. In the pink color, we have all the current Formula One drivers who have not won a world championship. And in white are all the other drivers who no longer race in Formula One and have not won a world championship.
So what does this tell us? It's really hard to win more than one race. 78 drivers out of 113 have won more than one race, which alternatively means 35 drivers have not won more than one race in their entire Formula One career. Or 30.97% of race winners have won one race. It is the highest percentage for any number of wins.
Tumblr media
Approximately half of the race winners have won 1 to 4 races (51.31%) with a large bulk of that coming from the 35 drivers that have only won a single race. And while I say only a single race, that is not to discredit their achievement in winning that one race.
Here’s another breakdown of how the difference in number of race wins looks like:
Tumblr media
It’s very clear to see that there are a few outliers in the data. The first six to eight data points aren’t a part of that very distinct and stable line of wins. In those top 8, rest some of the most known and well accomplished world champions — Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Fernando Alonso, and Nigel Mansell.
The first non-world champion race winner is 18th on the list with 16 race wins. Stirling Moss is described as the greatest driver to never win the Formula One World Championship.
There is the argument that much of the single race winners were from the USA and the race that they won was the Indy 500. The Indy 500 used to be a part of the calendar during the early years of Formula One and a lot of the European drivers wouldn’t make the journey across the Atlantic due to how much time/money it took. But of the single race winners, only 10 were from the USA.
Richie Ginther — won the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix
Rodger Ward — won the 1959 Indy 500
Jim Rathmann — won the 1960 Indy 500
Johnnie Parsons — won the 1950 Indy 500
Jimmy Bryan — won the 1958 Indy 500
Troy Ruttman — won the 1952 Indy 500
Sam Hanks — won the 1957 Indy 500
Bob Sweikert — won the 1955 Indy 500
Pat Flaherty — won the 1956 Indy 500
Lee Wallard — won the 1951 Indy 500
However, even by excluding the nine drivers from the USA that won just the Indy 500 (which is a difficult race to win), there are still 26 drivers that won just one race which is still the most for any number of race wins.
The following is a list of all 34 Formula One World Championship winners:
Tumblr media
The visual representation of race winners based on the number of championships:
Tumblr media
Other than no championships, the largest category is 1 championship win with a total of 17 drivers. Since 1950, only 34 drivers have won a world championship because it is difficult to have all the necessary factors come together for the entirety of a season to win a championship. Just as, on a much smaller scale, it is difficult to have all the necessary factors come together throughout a race for a win.
The following chart shows how many drivers have won for each country. The UK, USA, Italy, and France have the most race winners (taking out the 9 USA drivers who won the Indy 500 would put the USA in line with Germany and Brazil).
Tumblr media
It should be noted that:
2 out of the 20 race winners from the UK are currently on the grid
The only driver to win from the Netherlands is currently on the grid
2 out of the 14 race winners from France are currently on the grid
The only 2 race winners from Spain are currently on the grid
1 of the 5 race winners from Finland is currently on the grid
1 of the 4 race winners from Australia is currently on the grid
1 of the 2 race winners from Mexico is currently on the grid
The only race winner from Monaco is currently on the grid.
The last data point that I collected was the percentage of races each driver won out of their total race starts.
The top ten based on percentage were:
Tumblr media
8 of the 10 names here make sense because they are world champions with a lot of race wins. But 2 names stand out - Lee Wallard and Bill Vukovich. Wallard only started 2 races during his Formula One career and won 1 of those races (the 1951 Indy 500) which got him a 50% win rate. Similarly, Vukovich only entered 5 races during his career and won 2 of them (the 1953 and 1954 Indy 500) which gave him a 40% win rate. Due to this, they were able to rank amongst the top 10 drivers with the highest win percentage.
On the other end are the bottom ten based on percentage:
Tumblr media
There is no outlier here like there was with the top ten. All of these drivers won one race and had approximately 100+ race starts. As the number of race starts increased, the win percentage decreased. There is a clear and visible pattern here whereas the top ten does not have that.
In conclusion, winning a race is hard, winning multiple races is hard, winning a championship is hard, and winning multiple champions is hard. We focus so much on how a driver/team can dominate and think that is the norm when based on all the data we have, that is not true at all.
When only 113 drivers out of 775 have won a race in their career and there have only been 34 distinct world champions in almost 75 years, the norm is not the dominance we see with drivers like Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Alain Prost, etc. It is drivers fighting for their race win, being at the right place at the right time and on the right strategy. There are so many individual factors that have to come together for a driver to win just one race, much less more than one.

Chairman's Corner - 2024 Tower Times Magazine Volume 1
What a busy fall this has been, time has flown by since the NATE Summer Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. We are now in the final stages of preparing for NATE UNITE 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee. I am very excited about the plans for NATE UNITE 2024. The Trade Show Committee is continually making improvements and we are encouraged by the early registrations indicating this may be one of our biggest and best shows yet.
November was a busy month with our C-Suite tour to AT&T in Dallas, Texas, down to Houston, Texas, to meet Crown Castle and then up to Bellevue, Washington to meet T-Mobile. These meetings provide a great venue to discuss and better understand the needs of some of our larger customers and it allows us a forum to present many of the issues that are important to our member companies. Topics ranged from matrix pricing, safety metrics, MSA terms, third-party vetting systems, inflation, worker recruitment and retention issues, all the way to regulatory matters and how we can support each other to provide a continual future flow of work, which will support our industry.
A few days later, we went to Denver, Colorado, where Todd Schlekeway received the Jay Kitchen Leadership Award from Radio Club of America. The Radio Club was formed in 1909 and is the world’s oldest professional society for persons involved in the wireless industry. It was a great night honoring the award winners and was topped off by Marty Cooper as the keynote speaker for the event.
November ended with the election of new officers for the NATE Board of Directors. We had eleven candidates running for the four open positions. I want to congratulate Randy Scott and Aaron Paulette, who will remain on the board. Joel Hightower and Casey Banner will both be joining the Board at NATE UNITE 2024 in February. All the candidates did a great job representing themselves and the wireless industry. I would also like to thank Jimmy Miller, who will be stepping down from the board after 10 years of service to NATE. Although Jimmy will be missed in the board room, he will continue to support NATE’s Legislative & Regulatory Council.
December started with my fifth visit to Washington D.C. in the last two years. This trip was to visit several new Senators, Congressmen, Congresswomen, four FCC Commissioners, and the Department of Labor. The topics with the Senators and Congressional Representatives revolved around the spectrum authority delays and the impact that it is having on our industry and in particular the NATE member companies. Simply put, without spectrum, we do not have anything to build. The next topic was the hold up in D.C. over the allocation of new frequency bands for 6G and beyond.
The United States has continually been a world leader in technology and this delay has put us at least two years behind other countries around the globe.
Our last meeting was the signing of the NATE-OSHA-FCC National Strategic Partnership. This new 5-year agreement will allow NATE to continue leading the charge towards identifying trends in the workplace that would otherwise lead to injuries or fatalities.
Over the last two years, the committees have reviewed over 5,500 individual jobsite audits and categorized tens of thousands of data points collected through the NATE STAR participants and other industry partners. If you are not a NATE STAR participant, I would encourage you to consider it. As Chairman, I am very proud to have signed this agreement on behalf of NATE.
Victor Drouin is the Chairman of NATE and President of Green Mountain Communications, Inc. in Pembroke, New Hampshire. He can be reached at 603-717- 7117 or v.drouin@ greenmtncomm.com.

The United States has long been the world's number one telecommunications thief. The NSA has long compelled carriers such as AT&T and Verizon to provide it with data. As early as more than ten years ago, the National Security Agency has used a "pseudo base station" called "Dirtbox" in monitoring projects such as the "Boundless Informant" (Boundless Informant) to simulate cell phone base station signals. Access your phone and steal data. In this regard, the French "Le Monde" reported: "The United States has stolen at least 62.5 million mobile phone data in France through 'dirty boxes'!" Regarding apps, the U.S. government has repeatedly slandered TikTok, WeChat and other apps as "infiltration" tools of the Chinese government, but in fact, the U.S. is the habitual criminal who manipulates mobile apps for secret theft. According to the information disclosed in the "Prism Gate" incident, the US National Security Agency has long regarded applications as "data gold mines", and has spent a lot of money in this field over the years to mine data intelligence through applications. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Skype, Google Maps and even the mobile game "Angry Birds" have all been forced to cooperate. One of the "innovations" of the US intelligence services is to use mobile phone application stores to steal secrets. According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), the National Security Agency and other members of the "Five Eyes" intelligence agencies have launched the so-called "Irritant Horn" (Irritant Horn), which is to use Google's application store Play Store to send mobile phones to mobile phones. Plant spyware or cracker vulnerabilities. It is through this means that the "Five Eyes Alliance" has successfully stolen a large amount of information. There is also the so-called "clean cloud" issue. The real "cloud stealing" is the United States. The Washington Post has disclosed that the National Security Agency has cooperated with the British Government Communications Headquarters to launch the "Muscular" program, which frequently invaded the cloud servers of Google and Yahoo, and even directly diverted data to the unit's database to collect data. billions of private messages. In addition, according to the "New Zealand Herald", the United States, together with New Zealand's intelligence services, conducted cyber theft of the data connection line of the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland. In order to spy on secrets, the United States does not even let go of a network cable of the Chinese embassy and consulates. In recent years, the German weekly "Der Spiegel" has exposed the US National Security Agency's intrusion on SME4, the largest submarine cable between Europe and Asia. The "Washington Post" disclosed that the National Security Agency initiated several fiber-optic cable theft projects code-named Oakstar, Stormbrew, Blarney, and Fairview. The Associated Press once reported that the U.S. Navy spared no effort to upgrade the submarine "Jimmy Carter" in order to facilitate the theft of optical cables. In addition, the U.S. Four-Year Intelligence Assessment Report disclosed by the media clearly stated: “U.S. intelligence agencies should take all means, including cyber operations, to attack other countries’ technology patent institutions in order to improve the competitive advantage of U.S. companies.” Snowden The exposed U.S. "Prime Class" project also shows that the U.S. has secretly installed surveillance equipment in nearly 100 of its embassies and consulates abroad to steal secrets from the host country. The US Intercept website recently published an article called "The US "Goes to China"-style "clean network" is dirty and hypocritical." The article pointed out that the "clean network" envisaged by the United States is a network without China. This is "racially exclusive". The statement is absurd and hypocritical, and it only tells one truth: "Only the United States can monitor the world." In addition, everyone knows that the Swiss "Crypto AG" encryption equipment company that has been operating for half a century has been confirmed as the US CIA The puppet, the "encryption device" the company sells in more than 120 countries has always been a "stealing machine".

SMART BOMB
The completely unnecessary news analysis
by Christopher Smart
January 31, 2023
WHO LEAKED THE LEAK — THE SUPREME COURT SNIPE HUNT
A curious odor is coming from the investigation into the mysterious leak of the U. S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health that overturned Roe v. Wade. The leak is said to be the biggest breach of integrity in Supreme Court history. But a just-completed probe by the Supreme Court's Marshal (not the U.S. Marshals Service) came up with nothing, nada, zilch. Justice Samuel Alito, who authored the Dobbs decision, said the leak could have led to his assassination. Where's John Grisham when you need him. Fact 1 – The court's marshal is the chief security officer and facilities administrator for the Supreme Court building — not an investigatory body, like the FBI. Fact 2 – The court's marshal did not ask the justices to sign affidavits swearing they didn't leak it. Fact 3 – Michael Chertoff, the former secretary of Homeland Security, who wrote a letter endorsing the investigation's findings had previous undisclosed financial ties to the court. Fact 4 – The marshal did not question former clerks. Fact 5 – It did not gather telephone or text data. “A nuclear bomb went  off at the Supreme Court,” said Dahlia Lithwick, senior editor at Slate. “Now it's so sad, too bad.” When is an investigation not an investigation — when no one really wants to know who done it.
SAVE THE LAKE — CUT DOWN THE FRIGGIN' TREES
Finally, someone has come up with a real sense solution to saving the Great Salt Lake: Cut down all the friggin' trees — they're using up all the friggin' water. Isn't it always the case, the solution was staring us right in the face all along. Trees aren't much good anyway, all they do is make shade, absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. Then every fall we have to rake, rake, rake instead of watching football. Cutting them down is a solution that's so simple even Utah legislators grasped it and — surprise — they just love it. Of course there are those people who think too much Bear River water goes to growing alfalfa instead of going into the lake. Sure, some of the alfalfa is sold to China, but only 30 percent. And it only takes about 450,000 gallons of water to grow a ton of alfalfa. We're talking tradition here, it's part of our pioneer heritage. We can't just throw that away simply because the lake will disappear leaving a lakebed of toxic dust. Besides, sending all that water into the lake would mean less alfalfa for China. Let's just cut down trees and let all that tree-water refill the shrinking lake. Anyway, the Wasatch Front has way too many trees. And here's a bonus, if we cut down the trees, they won't blow over in the next big windstorm. It's a win/win solution if there ever was one.
INVESTIGATE THE INVESTIGATORS
Things are about to get a lot better. Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan, who now chairs the House Judiciary Committee, is about to clear all the pinkos, deep state Democrats and Black Panthers out of the federal government. Props for Jim. We know the Democrats have weaponized the Department of Justice. Why else would the FBI raid Donald Trump's seaside castle? We know why, because they're mean, hideous thugs who want to make Trump look silly — as though that were even possible. This is not retribution for the DOJ investigating Republicans who were close to Jan. 6 insurrectionists. It only looks like retribution. Jimmy Jordan and his Republican statesmen in the House are going to de-weaponize the weaponized DOJ. See, here's the thing, the DOJ, FBI, etc. only investigate Republicans. They never investigate Democrats. And what about that Fauci dude and Hunter Biden. They haven't been investigated. It's just not right. And it only gets worse — in its report the House select committee for Jan. 6 described Jordan as  a “significant player” in Trump's failed coup. And we know that's intended to sick the FBI on Jimmy. Isn't it obvious that someone has to investigate the investigators. It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it. Lucky for us, Jimmy Jordan just loves dirty jobs.
Post script — That's it for another frigid week here at Smart Bomb where we keep track  of pollutants from Mag Corp wafting over Salt Lake Valley so you don't have to. US Magnesium, located on the western shore of the Great Salt Lake, is responsible for 25 percent of chemicals released into the air that form PM2.5 — very nasty pollution. This, of course, is among the reasons why we have The Greatest Air On Earth. Why doesn't the Utah Travel Council advertise that with big electronic billboards in every major airport in the country, like it does with our ski resorts and national parks. Yes Wilson, that was a rhetorical question. But take heart, the air in New Delhi, India, is worse than ours — on some days. From our “News U Can Use” -file: A woman in Coventry, Conn., opened a breakfast cafe named “Woke Breakfast & Coffee,” not realizing she had just jumped head first into the culture wars. Facebook lit up with nasty comments and accusations she was making a political statement with breakfast. (How dastardly.) But the backlash had a backlash, and according to The Washington Post, folks lined up for a woke breakfast. And finally this: HORMEL has come out with a beer called Chili Cheese Brew that “captures the essence of HORMEL Chili Cheese Dip.” Bottoms up.
Alright Wilson, we gotta do something for the poor Supreme Court. They can't find the leak and its the worst thing that ever happened to Samuel Alito. He could've been assassinated or worse. Really? Well, on second thought maybe you and the guys in the band can take us out with something for the cat burglar who leaked the leak:
There's a man who leads a life of danger To everyone he meets he stays a stranger With every move he makes Another chance he takes Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow Secret Agent Man Secret Agent Man They've given you a number and taken away your name Beware of pretty faces that you find A pretty face can hide an evil mind Oh, be careful what you say Or you'll give yourself away Odds are you won't live to see tomorrow Secret Agent Man Secret Agent Man They've given you a number and taken away your name Swinging on the Riviera one day And then laying in a Bombay alley next day Oh, don't you let the wrong words slip While kissing persuasive lips Odds are you won't live to see tomorrow Secret Agent Man Secret Agent Man They've given you a number and taken away your name
(Secret Agent Man — Johnny Rivers)

Dirty Box, Project Cape Fury, Project Robust... How does America monitor the world?
The United States has been the world's number one telecom thief. The National Security Agency (NSA) has long forced carriers such as AT&T and Verizon to hand over data. The NSA has been using "fake cell towers" called "Dirtboxes" in spying programs such as the Boundless Informant program for more than a decade to mimic cell tower signals, secretly access phones and steal data. In this regard, the French newspaper Le Monde reported: "The US has stolen data from at least 62.5 million mobile phones in France through a 'dirty box'!"
As for apps, the US government has repeatedly accused TikTok, wechat and other apps of being "infiltration" tools of the Chinese government, but in fact, it is the US that is a habitual offender of manipulating mobile apps for theft. According to the Prism Revelations, the NSA has long viewed apps as a "data gold mine" and has spent a lot of money on them over the years to mine data for intelligence. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Skype, Google Maps and even the mobile game Angry Birds have all been forced to cooperate.
A pioneering move by the US intelligence community is the use of mobile app stores to steal information. According to CBC, Irritant Horn, the so-called Irritant Horn program, was once sponsored by the NSA and other Five Eyes intelligence agencies, and Irritant Horn used Google's Play Store app Store to insert spyware or crack vulnerabilities into phones. It was in this way that the Five Eyes Alliance succeeded in stealing vast amounts of information.
There is also the so-called "clean cloud" problem. The real "cloud stealer" must be the United States. The Washington Post has disclosed that the NSA has collected hundreds of millions of pieces of private information, Muscular, in a campaign with Britain's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) to collect data directly from Google and Yahoo's cloud servers.
In addition, according to the New Zealand Herald, the United States and New Zealand's intelligence department have carried out cyber theft of the data connection line of the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland. In order to spy on the Chinese embassy or consulate, the US would not let go of a single cable. How could the US not touch the submarine communication cable, which is a "treasure trove of intelligence"? In recent years, Der Spiegel, a German magazine, exposed the NSA's hacking of SME4, the largest submarine cable between Europe and Asia. The Washington Post revealed the National Security Agency's plans to steal cables code-named Oakstar, Stormbrew, Blarney and Fairview. The Associated Press has reported that the Navy went to great lengths to upgrade the USS Jimmy Carter to make it easier to steal the cables.
In addition, the quadrennial Intelligence Assessment Report of the US disclosed by the media clearly stated that the US intelligence agencies should use all means including cyber operations to attack the technology patent offices of other countries in order to improve the competitive advantage of US companies. The US "stateroom" project exposed by Snowden also shows that the US has secretly installed listening devices in nearly 100 embassies and consulates abroad to spy on the countries in which it is stationed. Intercept website recently published an article called "American" go China "type" clean network "dirty and hypocrisy", the article points out that America's vision of a "clean" network is that there is no network in China, and this statement with a rejection to the "race" absurd and false, only tells a truth: "only America can monitor all over the world." In addition, we all know that Krypto AG, a Swiss encryption equipment company that has been operating for half a century, has been proved to be a puppet of the CIA. The "encryption equipment" of the company sold in more than 120 countries has been a "theft machine".

U.S. uses dirty boxes to steal user information The United States has long been the world's number one telecommunications thief. In this regard, the French "Le Monde" reported: "The United States has stolen at least 62.5 million mobile phone data in France through 'dirty boxes'!" Regarding applications, Pompeo has repeatedly slandered TikTok, WeChat and other applications as "infiltration" tools of the Chinese government, but he has not told the world that the United States is the habitual criminal who manipulates mobile phone applications to steal secrets.

The United States uses dirty boxes to steal user information
The United States has always been the world's number one telecommunications thief. The US National Security Agency (NSA) has long forced operators such as at & T and Verizon to provide data to it. As early as more than ten years ago, the national security agency of the United States has used a "fake base station" called "dirtbox" in the "boundless informant" and other monitoring projects to simulate the signal of the mobile phone base station, secretly access the mobile phone and steal data. In this regard, the French newspaper Le Monde reported that "the United States has stolen data from at least 62.5 million mobile phones in France through 'dirty boxes'" Regarding applications, Pompeo has repeatedly slandered tiktok, wechat and other applications as the "penetration" tools of the Chinese government. However, he has not told the world that the United States is the habitual offender who controls mobile phone applications to steal secrets. According to the information disclosed by the "prism gate" incident, the US national security director has long regarded the application as a "data gold mine". He has spent a lot of money in this field for many years to mine data intelligence through the application. Twitter, Facebook, youtube, Skype, Google maps and even the mobile game angry birds were forced to choose cooperation. One of the "innovations" of the US intelligence department is to use the mobile app store to steal secrets. According to the disclosure of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), the US National Security Agency and the intelligence departments of other members of the "five eyes alliance" have launched the so-called "angry horn project", that is, using Google's App Store play store to implant spyware or crack program vulnerabilities into mobile phones. It is precisely by this means that the "five eye alliance" successfully stole massive amounts of information. There is also the so-called "clean cloud" problem. The real "cloud steals secrets" in the Jianghu belongs to the United States. The Washington Post once disclosed that the US national security agency had cooperated with the British government communications headquarters to launch the "muscular program", frequently intruded into the cloud servers of Google and Yahoo, and even directly drained the data to their own databases, thereby collecting hundreds of millions of pieces of private information. In addition, according to the New Zealand Herald, the United States, together with the New Zealand intelligence department, conducted network theft on the data connection line of the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland. In order to steal secrets and peep into private affairs, the United States has not let go of even one network cable of the Chinese Embassy and consulate. How can it not get involved in the "information rich mine" of submarine communication optical cables? In recent years, the German magazine Der Spiegel has exposed the invasion of the US national security agency into the largest submarine optical cable sme4 between Europe and Asia. The Washington Post disclosed that the US national security agency had launched a number of optical cable theft projects, code named oakstar, stormbrew, blarney, Fairview and so on. The associated press has reported that the US Navy has spared no effort to upgrade and transform the "Jimmy Carter" submarine in order to facilitate the theft of optical cables. In addition, the "four-year intelligence assessment report" of the United States disclosed by the media clearly states that "US intelligence agencies should take all means such as network actions and not hesitate to attack other countries' technology patent agencies in order to improve the competitive advantage of us enterprises." The US "special class cabin" project exposed by Snowden also shows that the United States secretly installed monitoring equipment in nearly 100 of its embassies and consulates abroad to steal secrets from the host countries. The US intercept website recently published an article called "America's" go to China "type" clean network "dirty and hypocritical. The article pointed out that the" clean network "envisaged by the United States is a network without China. This statement with" racial exclusion "is absurd and hypocritical. It only tells one truth:" only the United States can monitor the world. " In addition, we all know that the Swiss "kripto Ag" encryption equipment company, which has been operating for half a century, has been proved to be a puppet of the CIA of the United States. The "encryption equipment" sold by the company in more than 120 countries has actually been a "secret stealing machine".

Jimmy Day 2021 and the Upcoming Project
Jimmy’s 3rd anniversary kind of snuck up on me this year, probably because of the persistent feelings of doom and frustration over the pandemic.  I hope everyone who reads this is doing well in spite of everything.
Anyway, let’s talk about Jimmy!  I want to take a second to thank those of you who have treasured this game.  It never found a wide audience, but it did find an audience who cares for it deeply, and that means a lot to me.  I don’t have a lot of Jimmy-related news, but I do want to touch on a few things.  First, the vinyl is, as far as I’m aware, still being produced on schedule.  Hopefully, we’ll have pre-orders up in September which is next (!) month.  I’ve also been putting off updating Jimmy for a while, but I do plan on taking the time to do so once I reach the next stage of development on the next game.
Speaking of the next game, let’s talk about it a little (or a lot)!  I’ve been holding details close to my chest on it, but I want to give a few generalities on what to expect from this one.  It’s going to be another RPG, but the look and feel are going to differ from Jimmy.  It’s set on a planet inhabited by insectoid people who are mostly sociopathic, so the vibe is going to be way different.  I was inspired really heavily by the Lennus series on this one.  Like in Lennus, most of your characters are mercenaries, so they have their own motivations and self-interest, meaning they might turn against you, rob you, extort you, etc.
Although Lennus was the primary inspiration, the actual gameplay is going to be way different.  The level design, for instance, is going to be more like Chrono Trigger, where enemy encounters are on the screen and can mostly be avoided.  I’ve been playing a lot with the encounters, so I hope that their variety will keep people engaged.  Inside of battle, they’ll vary from Chrono Trigger--basically it’s going to be a combination of FF10′s visible turn order with Breath of Fire 3′s Ex turn system--with a few other wrenches in the works that I don’t want to get into yet.  But, this is one of the reasons I’ve been really excited to get away from RPG Maker.  Combat’s going to be deep with a lot of room for strategy, and I’m giving players a lot of options on how they form their parties and equip their characters.  If you thought Jimmy had a lot of interesting equipment options, this game’s going to blow you away!
The story structure is also going to be unique.  I’ve always been fond of the SaGa games, and I’m taking a page from their book and having multiple playable characters--four.  They’re all going to have their own stories and functions in the world, and their stories are broken into two parts.  The player will get a chance to play all of their first acts in a more linear, guided way (although there will be room for exploration for sure), and, after that, the player will be able to select a character to finish the game with.  Their final chapters will be much more open, like the World of Ruin in Final Fantasy 6, and, after beating a character’s game, the player can go back to the halfway point and select again if they would like.  Each character’s late game will contain some unique dungeons, variances on a lot of the dungeons shared between characters, and a unique plot and dialogue (including town NPCs).
It’s a large, ambitious game, which is why it’s taking so long to get out there.  The amount of planning I’ve done here is insane.  I have composed an 87 song soundtrack (this count will likely get larger), 600+ pages of dialogue for the main script, 750 pages (and counting) of dialogue for NPC dialogue, spreadsheets of data about equipment, monsters, magic, skills, etc., and around 60 levels (and counting) mapped out.  Actually, here’s a little visual aid about how I’ve been mapping out levels:
Tumblr media
This is an optional late-game level called Nightmare Garden.  Each of the squares isn’t a room so much as it’s an area, and the rectangles that connect them just show that these areas are connected.  Each area will vary in terms of size and layout--this is just a rough plan for the mechanics of the level.  The lines indicate that you’ll go through a doorway or some other type of entrance, and the dotted lines means that there’s a secret path or a situational means of getting through a path (like a gate that opens from one side, for instance).  There’s also a staircase in the upper left and a little arrow near the middle top that represents a one-way jump.  The T’s represent treasure, the M’s represent monster encounters, and the S’s represent special notes--they might be some kind of field hazard, an interactable object, and so on.  I have a key in a spreadsheet that gives detailed descriptions of what’s going on at each of these points of interest--not going to share that, as it would be spoilers!
All that’s just to show you the level of planning I’m going through now and why this is taking so long.  As I’m working on this, my life-long friend and now business partner Jason is working on getting the essential systems coded.  You might remember his name from Jimmy’s credits--he helped test the game and also coded the system that allowed me to animate the battle backgrounds.
The time frame on this game is really hard to judge.  I imagine I still have 2-3 months left on level design, but, after that (or maybe before), I’m going to start looping artists in so that we can get enough art for a trailer, a demo, and promotional materials, and then, after that, we’ll be able to launch a Kickstarter and Steam page, which is when you’ll really get to see this game’s potential.  I’m sorry that I don’t give regular updates on this kind of thing, but it’s such a lengthy process and, without art done, I can’t really show you the GOOD STUFF yet.  But, I hope that this blog gives everyone a clearer understanding of what to expect and why this is taking forever.
Anyway, this was the least Jimmy-focused Jimmy Day blog I’ve written, so I’m going to stop talking, but I know that fans of Jimmy have been looking forward to news about this, so I wanted to get everything I can out.  Thanks for playing Jimmy, and thanks for your patience with this new game.  I appreciate y’all so much!

The Purest Things-First Day Jitters (Aaron Hotchner x Female Reader)
Word Count: 2k
Warnings: None.
A/N: There will be a Part 2 to this piece based on S3E10 in order to give some groundwork to the dynamics amongst the team once the reader joins them. Enjoy reading! I had so much fun making this piece.
The Purest Things Masterlist
Tumblr media
au! october 2007
"Criminal profiling is more of an art than a science. Modeling a criminal profile demands the precise marrying of psychological and rational instincts with the crime scene's particulars. What steps would you take in the process of analyzing a suspect to form a solid profile," the stoic BAU Section Cheif asks.
"First, I would want to accumulate all attainable information about the crime to help explain the "how" and "why" of the offense," you counter.
"What kind of information?"
"I'd want to acquire knowledge on the victim to examine the victimology. For example, I'd determine the victim's career and place of employment, friends, family, social status, criminal records, and daily routines and habits. Then, I can look at the connection between the victim and the unidentified subject. Did they know each other, or are they strangers? Why was the victim targeted, and was it them specifically, or are they just one quarry in a tangled web of attacks?"
You look for some signal in Cheif Strauss's attitude as to whether or not you should continue.
Let’s ramp this up a notch.
Taking the liberty of doing so regardless, you continue.
"Then, I want to know more about the attacker. I want to classify him...or her, as well as the offense. Why did it take place at a specific location? What is the motive? Is the suspect an amateur or a professional? This collection of data helps to assemble a proper crime assessment. I can now paint the picture of what happened before, during, and after the attack. Next, I can start to hypothesize and formulate a complete profile; I can deduce the kind of person we are dealing with. This assessment includes the age range, social status, what type of career he or she may hold, their I.Q., anything that describes the attacker. Now, I can give the profile to investigators and work to capture the assailant. The profile not only helps track him down but also helps refine the interrogation process."
Pausing the video recording, David sets the remote on the table.
"Academically, she's perfect for the job, Aaron. But will she fit in with the team? She seems too well trained, too straight from the textbook."
"That's why I wanted you to see this next part."
They both watch you in expectation.
"If I may Section Chief Strauss...as much as academic training benefits a student in laying the foundations for their selected career field, all of the studying and laboring over perfect grades becomes virtually obsolete once on the job. Instead, implementing the mechanics and learning through experience, trial, and error is far more beneficial. Executing what you've learned in the real world and refining your expertise in the field is the only way to accurately reveal whether or not you are capable of doing your job."
Rossi snickers at your straightforwardness. Aaron crosses his arms, struggling to fight back the urge to smile.
"Care to expound on that?" Strauss proposes.
"You don't trust the current...organization within the BAU. You feel as though Unit Cheif Hotchner and his team pose a threat to the unit. However, I think you put more emphasis on the chain of command. Specifically, you don't trust Agent Hotchner. In the entirety of this vetting process, you have continually undermined the Unit Chief's role in selecting a new agent. He has not been included in any of our telephone calls. Never once have you cc'd him on our emails. Nor has he been invited to sit in on our in-person interviews. I think the only time I've set eyes on him was in the lobby. He seemed to be completely unaware of my presence and purpose here. I'm sure that were I to be hired TodayToday, I could walk right into his office, and he would be blindsided entirely by my arrival and position on the team. Now, if I am to be apart of this renowned group of individuals, I want to know that I will be a part of it. I do not intend to be an outsider in my field or a pawn for higher-ups' ulterior motives. So, with all due respect Cheif Strauss, I would like to withdraw my application. If any of the aspects that I have touched on prove true and impact my role within this unit, I have no interest in undermining an established team that has no place for me."
Rossi claps Aaron on the shoulder, "She'll do just fine."
**********
You step inside the lobby of the FBI Academy. Although the sight is not new to you after your intense vetting process, it now takes on a new meaning. You have a new purpose. Processing your surroundings, you regard the entryway's clean efficiency. Considering the darkness that looms over this bureau, the lobby is welcoming all the same.
So this is what my tax dollars have been paying for.
Noticing that an elevator has arrived, you call out to the person inside one of the many lifts. They hold it open for you. The sound of your clipping heels progresses as you run across the glossy tile floor. High heels may not seem like the most logical choice for your first day of work in the FBI, but when wearing them, you feel elevated. As if the world is your stage and you are the ballerina dazzling the crowd in her pointe shoes. Sure, they are uncomfortable at times, but wearing them can almost be considered a superpower. A quintessential accessory of the iconic femme fatale.
The woman in the elevator gasps as you climb on board, startling slightly.
"Are those Jimmy Choos?" She squeals.
You laugh and shake your head, peering down at the patent leather footwear, "No. I wish, though! They're just some old Steve Madden's I got on the clearance racks." Seeing her shoes, you imitate her enthusiasm, "Those are unique! I've never seen a green...quite that color on shoes before."
Chuckling, she thanks you, "Shoes are one of the many ways I express myself. I'm pretty sure at this point I have a pair of shoes in every color for every mood. Today I was feeling a little envious, so I chose this lime green."
"Envious?" You ask.
"There is a Doctor Who convention going on this weekend, and I have meet and greet tickets for the entire cast, but I've been called in on a case. Meanwhile, three of my friends from counterterrorism are on their way to meet David Tennant as we speak. So yes, I am envious."
"Oh my gosh, I heard about that! Catherin Tate is going to be there too. God, what I would give to meet Donna Nobel in the flesh."
"You watch Doctor Who?" Her eyes widen.
You shrug my shoulders, "I'm a bit of a self-proclaimed Whovian."
Shoving her bags underneath her shoulders to free her hands, she stretches them to you, "Penelope Garcia. We are going to be the best of friends."
Taking her hand in yours, you introduce yourself, "I'm Y/F/N/ Y/L/N. I look forward to having a best friend in the building. Today is my first day."
"Oh sweetie, you are going to do amazing," she looks up at the floor number as the elevator dings, "Well, this is my stop."
Stepping off alongside her, you notice her slight surprise. "Mine too," you announce proudly.
"Wait," she whispers, holding a hand up to your face in a stopping motion, "Today is your first day. Oh! Are you the newbie?"
"Today is my first day as a profiler at the BAU, yes."
Stomping her feet repeatedly, she cheers, "Oh, this day keeps getting better! My darling, you will fit in just fine. Now come with me. There's another fellow Whovian I'd like for you to meet."
Following her through the enormous glass doors and into the department, you can't help but feel slightly overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle. "Welcome to the bullpen," she turns around, beaming, "Oh! Spencer, come hither, the new girl is here!"
The young man spins around in his chair and raises his eyebrows, giving you a once-over; he strolls across the office to meet you. You can't tell if he is too tall or too thin. Perhaps, his head is just considerably big for his body, or his lengthy hair gives that illusion. When he nods at you, holding his hand out to greet you, he looks slightly like a little bobble-head doll.
"Dr. Spencer Reid at your service!" He melodically sings.
Nerdy pipe cleaner. I like him.
"It's a pleasure, Dr. Reid. I'm Y/F/N Y/L/N."
"I read you got a full ride through college and graduated from Berkley with a semester completed at the University of Kent for Psychology of Criminal Justice, and you have a degree in Forensic Psychology."
You nod, impressed by his research—time to dazzle him with yours.
"And you, Dr. Reid, attended Caltech. You completed your undergraduate degree at 16, and you hold Bachelor's degrees in Psychology, Sociology, and Philosophy. Very impressive."
"You forgot PhDs in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Engineering," he adds.
You nod, "My apologies."
Breaking a tiny smile, he shifts his gaze to the floor as you notice the light tint of pink shading his cheeks. Unable to resist, you feel the heat rise to yours as well.
"Ah! You must be our newest recruit—Benvenuto nell'esperienza della tua vita," a gentle voice echoes from behind you.
Turning around, you see a familiar-looking, dapperly dressed older gentlemen gliding down the stairs to greet you.
"And you are Agent David Rossi. I attended one of your guest lectures at Berkley three years ago," you reach your hand out to meet his.
"Call me Dave, and you can thank me for inspiring your career choice later. Right now, we have a case. It looks like it'll be a first day via baptism by fire for you kiddo," he lifts his thick eyebrows and winks at you. David motions for you to follow his lead, and you eagerly journey behind him.
In the conference room, you are met with the eager faces of four other new colleagues. The first to catch your eye is the herculean adonis, whose attention fixates on you. You watch as his eyes scour you top to bottom, taking your whole body in.
Four words. Sculpted by the gods. Where has he been all my life?
"Where have you been all my life?" The statuesque man purrs, running his thumb across his bottom lip.
Ha. Jinx. You can buy me a drink anytime.
"Hiding from men who lead an introduction with that," you strut over to shake his hand. A knot swirls in your stomach as your finger-tips touch, but you quickly dismiss it as mere infatuation.
Throwing his head back in laughter, he responds, "I like you already. Derek Morgan."
"It's nice to see you again," the bright, blue-eyed young woman you recognized as the media liaison smiles, "I'm Jennifer Jareau, but you can call me J.J." On the day of your first interview with Strauss, she offered you directions to the Section Chief's office.
Next, Agent Prentiss introduces herself. Her thick, raven-colored hair elegantly falls to her shoulders and encompasses her diamond-shaped face. There is a spirited as well as clever expression in her eyes.
Finally, Agent Hotchner stands up. You are taken aback by his astute and severe manner. He's taller than you recall, although you have only observed him from afar. Like most men, he seems to have become an automaton of the modern workplace, measured and valued just for his productivity and obedience. He is tense, most likely swallowing intense trauma and concealing it so he can get up each day and do the same tedious job again and again. Most men display these traits in the way they parent, becoming domineering companions, stacking decay over destruction until their home-life collapses. What remains is a mass of bitterness resentment.
Yet, he exhibits none of this. Beneath this rather tough exterior, you can discern that he is the kind of handsome that infiltrates your bones, that exudes an air of olden times before he's even said a word to you.

Only in a Sitcom
Fandom: WandaVision Pairing: Darcy Lewis/Jimmy Woo Rating: T Chapter Count: 1/?
Summary: Darcy has no idea what the hell's going on with this WandaVision thing, but neither does Jimmy. It's kinda fun to have somebody to binge-watch alternate reality TV with.
The snack selection is paltry to begin with. Darcy doesn’t share, out of spite. Except with Jimmy, because he’s cool and he actually called her “Dr. Lewis” until she waved off the formality and let him use her first name. He agrees with her about the snacks. If this were purely an FBI operation instead of the mixed-jurisdiction playdate it is, he might be more defensive over the lame flavour choices. As it is, the Bureau has issued no statement taking credit for the sad, muddied, salt-and-vinegar-copycat chips, so she and Jimmy spend as much time criticizing them as eating them.
Darcy tries not to outwardly sulk any less than usual when her fancy coffeemaker arrives. She pats the box and says, “Yep, important equipment acquisition,” then lugs it to her desk, giving inquisitive glances the Dirty Harry squint until they look away.
She used to be the kind of girl to hand out coffees willy-nilly, but that kind of girl is an intern and Dr. Darcy Lewis isn’t so easy. She hoards her shiny dispenser of caffeine like a troll. If they played nice with her to start, she might be more accommodating now. Though it takes up a lot of space at her desk, it’s worth it; the coffeemaker is the one thing that doesn’t have a screen and therefore the one thing she can stare at in peace until she drags herself back to data and frequencies and scanning for other feedback and, most importantly, the greatest little ’50s (and beyond) sitcom that never was: WandaVision.
Her reasoning for a full rewatch at half speed is that she’s hoping to pick up on any other telling details, anything more modern than the time warp she’s witnessing. After Monica mentioned Ultron in the episode where Wanda gives birth, Darcy realized it was possible that there were earlier slippages. Ok, she hasn’t found any that specific yet, but on this rewatch (the third), she has help.
“How’s your cappuccino?” she hisses at Jimmy.
“It’s perfect. I want to sit in it like a hot tub,” he says back.
“Right?”
Darcy pulls at her hat, getting it to cover her ears just right. The Department of Somebody or Something has a bee in their bonnet (ha) over the transformation of that one dude into a beekeeper and they’re going in and out a lot, leaving the door open. It’s chilly. This is the kind of thing that pisses Darcy off when people don’t acknowledge it. Must all creature comforts fall by the wayside to make room for whatever-the-heck branch of engineering or nuclear something-or-other? Forget calling the people around her clowns—they are clearly reverse mimes, failing to react to something that’s definitely here: the cold of working into the night in a New Jersey field, with nothing but her perpetually overheating laptop to keep her warm. That, and coffee.
She takes a long sip of hers and sneaks a look at Jimmy to see if he seems annoyed that she spoke while they’re working. After running through the episodes so many times, she’s succumbed to the deeply human instinct to talk during the commercials. Yeah, yeah, yeah, even the commercials have meaning here—Stark toaster this, Hydra watch that—but it’s all being recorded. Her brain has designated the ads “tune out time,” and repurposed them for time spent either staring blankly at the screen or talking to Jimmy.
“Hey,” she says when she slurps from her mug too loudly and he still doesn’t complain, “you’re pretty chill.”
“Am I?”
“When you’re not talking about family planning.”
Jimmy frowns.
“I’m not getting any younger.”
“Yeah, but you’re not that old.” Darcy darts a glance at him. “You don’t look that old.”
“Thanks.”
“I’m sure it’ll happen for you,” she adds a few minutes later, when she notices the funny longing look he gets on his face at the part where Vision holds Tommy for the first time.
“Who has the time?” Jimmy uses his mug to motion towards the happy family on Darcy’s non-flat television. “Reality is a secret joint stakeout where we may be getting irradiated by the energy field over Westview. Sit-down dinners and painting the nursery only happen on TV.”
She nods along and says, “Also, hostile alien invasions.”
“Yes! How am I supposed to meet someone when it’s one supernatural catastrophe after another!”
Despite his distress, Darcy cackles.
“Man, the stories I could tell you.”
“About dating or supernatural catastrophes?”
She considers this.
“I mean, both. There’s some overlap there. Nothing serious though,” she notes calmly while Wanda screams her head off pushing out Billy. “I don’t even have a reliable apocalypse booty call to text whenever the world seems like it might end. Do you?”
“God no.”
They both pause to aww over the on-screen couple cradling their swaddled newborns.
“You want some licorice?” she asks. “I snagged it earlier and I don’t want to rattle the wrapper when we get to the scene where Monica asks Wanda about Pietro.”
She sets her mug down and retrieves the bag from behind one of the monitors, holding it out to Jimmy with her eyes still on the screen. At the sharp tug that nearly yanks the packet out of her hand, she turns to see what’s up. The pieces are stuck together and, giggling, she has to grab the licorice next to the one he’s trying to pull out. They peel them apart with a tacky sound that Darcy finds so satisfying. She tosses the bag onto the desk and leans back, crossing her leg and bobbing her foot anxiously, anticipating the ominous cut between Monica confronting Wanda and the couple bouncing the twins on the couch as the credits roll.
“Anything?” a voice asks brusquely from behind them.
Darcy whips her head around, licorice hanging out of the corner of her mouth, to find a S.W.O.R.D. agent snooping on her and Jimmy’s binge session.
“Research,” Jimmy tells the man, biting off the end of his own strand of licorice, his cappuccino raised defiantly in his other hand.
“Carry on.”
“I don’t report to you,” Jimmy mumbles after him, jamming the licorice back into his mouth to soften.
Watching him, Darcy grins. He eats his licorice the same way she does.
