Finally watched the Mandalorian with Lizzo, and it was awesome, but also aside from that awesomeness pretty much the closest thing I have ever seen to a live action episode of Futurama.

Inspired by fistsofcarnage's post found here:
I decided to share my own opinion on the Tekken 8 base roster while we wait for its release!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A more detailed ranking:
Favourites
1. Nina Williams - My Queen since c. 2005
2. Jun Kazama - I really really missed her
3. Lili - Crazy rich girl? Love it
4. Zafina - Weird spider / scarecrow / praying mantis Egyptian lady? Of course I love her
5. Azucena Milagros Ortiz Castillo - La Reina del cafe is looking GREAT
6. Jin Kazama - Him and Hwoarang have been my main "men allowed on the upper tiers" for a while now
7. Ling Xiaoyu - My love for Xiao is a relatively more recent development but she's a queen alright
8. Hwoarang - Angery kick boi. You love to see it
Love (?) Is a strong word to describe my feelings for the following but I like them alright and maybe even played as them in past Tekken games
9. King - I mean it's king
10. Shaheen - A huge downgrade over his Tekken 7 design, still cool
11. Asuka Kazama - Asuka had tons of potential for me but her one-sided rivalry with Lili and them being positioned as the main female rivalry of the series for a while now (I wonder if it has anything to do with them being teenagers~) has kinda damaged her characterisation a bit for me. She's kinda there for Lili to have something to play with nowadays rather than being her own character. I still like her but nowhere near the amount I liked her in her Tekken 5 era.
12. Steve Fox - Steve is cool. He's okay.
Like
13. Lee Chaolan - This is such a weird redesign... Lee is so extra and fun but I can't stand the new look.
14. Yoshimitsu - Yoshimitsu is Yoshimitsu
15. Reina - Kinda basic but cute
16. Leo Kliesen - Kinda basic but cute
17. Lars - Kinda basic
Neutral / Dislike - My phone and also Tumblr only had an orange-y yellow marker so I merged these two together
18. Victor Chevalier - French James Bond Ninja Noctis Samurai looks kinda cool
19. Raven - I liked Master Raven more
20. Claudio Serafino - I liked him back when he was revealed but he ultimately became too forgettable for me
21. Devil Jin - Edgier Jin. Whatevs
22. Alisa Bosconovitch - Sex slave robot modelled after an old man's dead teenage daughter that a middle-aged man has the hots for will never not be creepy
23. Leroy Smith - Meh
24. Kuma - Even bigger meh, and I'm also still mad that both him and the other fucking bear keep taking up TWO slots but Christie being playable alongside Eddy in Tekken 7 was such a ludicrous idea for Namco
25. Marshall Law - I liked his Tekken 4 / 5 moustached look more. Him gulping all the fucking steroids in the world between Tekken 7 and 8 was not a wise choice
Hate
26. Panda - Read Kuma's entry. She's lower than him because she looks weirder now and I think both look weird when they put clothes on them but she looks weirder this time
27. Kazuya Mishima - Too boring
28. Bryan Fury - Too ugly, boring and loud
29. Paul Phoenix - Too ugly and boring, and also he looks his worst in this redesign
30. Sergei Dragunov - Too boring and ugly but at least he's fun to play with
31. Feng Wei - Too ugly and loud
32. Jack-8 - It's a JACK unit... All these redesigns and upgraded models and Jane still hasn't figured out how to not make him look fucking ridiculous
I'm still missing Anna Williams, Christie Montero and (mum) Kunimitsu. I hope Anna at least fucking makes it as Christie is probably gonna be left out in favour of Eddy again and since they introduced a younger, cutesier and more boring version of Kunimitsu in the form of her daughter I don't think we're ever seeing her again.
I wouldn't mind seeing Katarina return either, Miguel's chest is always nice to look at and I'm DEFINITELY on the Lucky Chloe did nothing wrong camp! I also think that over the years I've grown more fond of Forest than Marshall but unless his dad's liver stops working from all the extra steroids he took I don't see him making it back until the next Tag Tournament

Alex holds a small pen like object up to the eyes of Goat and Lynn's fused body, and inquires, "how do you feel?"
Like shit I'm ok
"Lime shok", the two mix their words trying to speak at once.
"Well, at least your eyes are following the pen", Gage chuckles.
Wait, so how should we do this?
Maybe just take turns?
That sounds fair enough.
Ok, rock paper scissors?
. . . No.
Oh... right.
I'll just go second.
Alright, Danke.
"I kinda feel like shit", the fusion says, "but I'm not so bad, this bed is comfortable".
Alex questions, "So, the one who's feeling bad. Which one are you, and why?"
"Uh, Goat. Yeah, this is just a weirder experiment I've been put into. My body just feels different, a little bit of a headache".
"Alright. Lynn, what's your opinion again?"
"Oh, I'm just ok. Yeah the headache is there for me too, but other than that I feel fine! This is even kind of fun".
"Do you two have a Nickname planned or?"
Oh, a Nickname? I usually just go by my first name.
Hmmm how about Gynn?
Jin?
Yeah, but we're gonna spell it like Lynn but with a G.
I like it, alright.
"We thought about it", Gynn says, "we'rll... we are going to go by Gynn. Turns out it's hard to stpealk... speak talk, when you are two people. Heollt yeit!.. FUCK".
Alex places a hand between their horns and scratches, "Don't worry Gynn, it's hard to get used to. I mean when Gage and I were one, it was hard for me to get used to-"
Gage interrupts, "AHEM! They don't need to know that one".
Alex laughs, "C'mon, I didn't tell them the best part!"
Gage sighs, "No. Anyway, Gynn, can you get up and walk around?"
Isn't walking a bit of a conscious activity?
I mean, we both have similar walking patterns, how hard will it be?
Gynn puts down his left arm and rolls on top of it immediately pressing his right hand into his arm. They take a deep breath, and scoot to the edge of the bed, sitting up then hopping to their feet. They walk for a moment just moving forward, before kicking their own legs and falling over. The two listen to Gage and Alex laughing.
What was that for?!
I wanted to walk around the bed!
Hmph! Well, how about you walk for us, being this tall is making me kinda dizzy...
You do realize I'm not used to being this small, right?
Alex and Gage discuss to eachother some notes. Gage showing Alex the screen of a computer. Gynn absent-mindedly watches as they argue internally while in the floor.
Hey.
Hm?
Any clue what they're talking about?
Nope. Why?
I dunno, Gage usually doesn't lose focus of his tests, not the robotics one, not the horror monster one.
Well, fair enough. How are we going to get to them?
How bout you walk and ask them? Not gonna get much done through fighting about it.
Alright.
Gynn hops to his feet and quickly makes his way to Gage and Alex.
"Hey, what's going on over here?" Gynn questions.
Gage answers, "oh, we've been monitoring your conversations".
Alex giggles, "it's cute seeing you two fight, you're like my sisters".
WHAT!?

We start in June with the boys in Taipei. A minute into the video and we have jikook playing games already. Lol little wrestling robots game. Jimin bragging he won too much and JK saying it's only because I let you win (something he started doing with frequency in 2015) and then doing a rematch where he wins super quickly. Lmao poor Jimin.
This was also the same time as rehearsals for this concert that we see jikook practicing their COA performance. And JK mimicking Jimin on his 333 dance and immediately turning to check to see if he made Jimin laugh (he did 😊). Maknae line crazy dance times together in between stages 🥰
In Macau is where we get the iconic Sope skit with the recorder music that Hobi plays with his nose and Suga can't help but giggle over. And they thank their fans for the gift of such a luxurious recorder
Tumblr media
I will never understand why they film them eating meals or snacks right up in their faces. I really don't need to see it and dang, let them eat without risk of accidentally inhaling the camera too with how close they get 🤣 the dance party from how good the snacks were though and excitement for the concert was adorable.
In Nanjing (July), Love seeing Jihope help the others perfect the choreo and picking out little things they can do to make the overall performance better. Main dancer things 🥰 and then vmin taking a break between rehearsals and the concert to play basketball together!
Jin dancing to ARMY singing songs before BTS even takes the stage 🥺 I love that they get to feel so much love. RMs inspiring little speeches before they go on to his members, do our best! And then we just got clips of total chaos and I want more please! Lol taekook piggy back ride, everyone hyping Suga up for his verse by patting him all over and jumping, Jimin swinging in between TaeJin, Tae on JKs shoulders, Tae's Boyz with Fun dance... I'm noticing a common factor in this craziness being Taehyung 😂 love him.
Tumblr media
Tae2Seok proposing to ARMY during their ending mentions. Lmao dangerous idea to give out my guys. 😂 followed by their talks to the camera at the end with Jin continuously proposing to Jimin (somewhat aggressively lmao) before JinJiKook all ask ARMY to marry them too. What is this?! What was the joke? 😂
In Osaka now! They were all so excited during rehearsals and cutesy teasing Tae about how often he said "now" during his VCR recording. (He did say it a lot lol.) Man, rhey also are making Jimin dance on every show! Either showing parts of Fire and the 333 dance before, but now it's Butterfly 😂 and ahh the way JK looks at him while he sings so Jimin can dance everytime. So fond. Such a big smile. And this time Jin did it too!
Jimin jokingly holding Jin back from giving the camera kisses for the end of show mentions. And then Jikook have been doing so many of their camera talks together lately. Lol "the youngest teased me so much today everyone" lol okay Jimin. They are so cute. Followed by Jin and Jimin reacting to JKs celebrity bromance show, which I have already made a post over here too.
Tumblr media
Nagoya concerts! Yoongi being so professional and working with the sound techs over what should be higher/lower for instruments and Members voices. Being so knowledgeable and so cool. And then JK following him around in tiny and mimicking everything he says giggling softly to himself and at the camera 🤣 "suga hyung won't scold me" indeed.
Lmao right before the concert. JK is trying to talk to the camera and Tae is just belting his lungs out across the room everytime he tries to talk 🤣 jin sharing how backstage is like a war zone as they have all 7 members trying to get changed and their hair/makeup freshened up in just 3 minutes but that he always finishes first.
Jikook playing together before rehearsals on day 2 with silly dances 🥺 Jin proposing to ARMY AGAIN and the editors being savage lmfao "Jin became cringeworthy" rude omg 🤣 everyone teasing Joonie for his Day 1 Day 1 chant the day before. Lol and at the very end, Jimin jumping onto JKs back when they are leaving the stage before giving his ending mentions to the camera. 🥺
Tumblr media
Beijing concerts. I'm not sure what Jimin was dancing too in the middle of rehearsals but JK was loving it. Jimin was going hard too! Lol during their rehearsal break we saw Jimin cracking up laughing while filming a video of Hope, which he later posted to Twitter for us. And the way they have meetings together before every show to hash out exactly what minor things need to be changed depending on where they are performing and give reminders on how to give the best show. They work so hard it's crazy.
Beijing is where we had RM, Jin and Jimin all take turns dancing part of the Butterfly choreo to either JK or Tae singing acapella. Something they have been doing this whole tour, switching it up. But this was the iconic one where JK was watching Jimin dance with all the love in his eyes while singing
Tumblr media
RM ended up suffering from over heating and having trouble breathing and couldn't finish the concert. It was heartbreaking but also very touching watching JK and army fill in for his rap verses and Suga take over for the speeches. They did a really good job though. And they were all so worried and concerned when talking to the camera afterwards, especially Jungkook, who couldn't even really think of anything to say, just kept looking off to the side, like he was wanting to be able to just go check on his hyung. They love each other so much. It's never the same if one isn't there.
Manila shows, end of July finally. Jikook walking to the stage with their arms around each other 🥺 and Jin is always acting the cutest on his way to their stages!
Lmao JK playing around with sunglasses and acting silly while the stylist Noona is trying to shove clothes at him and help him get dressed quickly for the encore stage. He is NOT making her job easy. Lmao these stylists all the patience of saints, I swear! The rapline hyping each other up on stage will never not get to me! And they were all so hype for the NMD dance break too!
Tumblr media
Everyone was soooo excited by the crowds reactions. JK saying ARMY was his energizer. The hyungs all smiling super hard and being so thankful. Tae just shouting love you to the camera for army over and over. Jimin crashing his interview and jumping on Tae's back this time. Lol they were all so happy after this show!
Bangkok shows now! (160806 now). The amount of Thai food they had on a spread looked amazing and the short impromptu eat jin video we were gifted as well! Jungkookies smile hearing ARMY screaming before they go on stage 😭 Tae giving using his hand to give flying kisses from Jin and JK both. So cute
Yoongi walking off stage so tired he basically just skips saying anything to the camera. 😭 someone let him take a nap soon! We also see the staff taking JKs mic off and him holding his arm like it hurts. Then when Jimin comes up while he is talking to the camera to give him a back hug, he knocks his arm a bit and JK is obviously in pain. Jimin then practically forgets all about the camera, trying to figure out what happened and what hurts. While JK spends just as much effort trying to pretend he is fine and to distract Jimin from it, including teasing him and when Jimin says he is getting old going, but you are only 22? Lol before they walk off together. I'm sure Jimin did not forget about his arm and wanting to find out what happened either. It was cute the way JK wanted to not worry him over it though.
Tumblr media
Toyko tour stop! Hoseok, our dance leader, scolding JK for not properly checking his in ears and sending him off to fetch them again. Lol I love that side of Hobi too. Jimin spent almost this entire video with black hair, and is now back to blond for Toyko! And Yoongi has darker auburn type of hair now!
Hobi dancing to JK singing Tomorrow this time! And TaeJin dancing to Fire! And Jin is letting the whole "Nikonikoni" thing GO. Lmao TaeJin are sitting back stage with their arms around each other and Jin is STILL going on with "Nikonikoni" into the camera and during when he danced Fire. Lmao is this where Tae picked it up from for his iconic line in the middle of Attack on Bangtan that sent Jimin into a laughing fit so hard he missed his lines to sing after that? 🤣🤣
Day 2 shows everyone preparing to get on stage, stretching all serious. Captions "everyone relieves stress in their own ways" cuts to Jin acting a fool and big smiles all silly. Lmfao Jimin walking up behind him watching him with the fondest smile, and trying not to laugh. And JK practicing the choreo the same exaggerated way with Namjoon walking up behind him with a smile and then a nod to the camera 😂
Taes voice during Boys with Fun will always be one of my favorite things! Plus his improvised dance moves that the rest of the group then copies afterwards! And Tae being RMs biggest fanboy during his Save Me verse!
Jin and Tae hanging out under the stage waiting for their cue to enter, Jin blowing kisses to Tae and Tae rapping along with the verses above.
The way that everyone encore stage included Miss Right where they passed out little merch balls from baskets, throwing them into the crowd was adorable. Even more so watching them skip around stage with the baskets and half the time someone ended up wearing said basket on their head when it was empty. Lmao surprisingly, it was usually the rapline who wore the basket hats so proudly!
The utter CHAOS that broke out right after Hobis ending mentions to ARMY and Otsukare started playing and everyone went crazy on stage dancing and jumping around to it. Lol just for RM to bring it back down after a bit with being the last to give his greetings and making everyone cry saying "we would have no most beautiful moment in life without you." And Jimim giving his backup dancer friend a big hug when they all came out before everyone joined hands for the final bow😭
Tumblr media
Hobi ending the DVD off with a super sweet speech about the tour admist all the staff cheering like crazy for the members so sweetly.
And that wraps up Memories 2016! This was amazing and their hardwork, as always, is so highlighted and soooo admirable. One of my favorite things was seeing Namjoon greet ARMYs in their language everywhere they went. The dedication he has in making everyone geel welcomed and special is so beautiful. In conclusion, I love them. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts! 💜

info: im jaebum/reader, teen+, strangers to lovers au genre: soft angst, romance | word ct: 5.1k warnings: suggestive themes summary: for years, jaebum tried to forget the woman who broke his heart. little did he know that she wasn’t so easily forgotten, and that her face would haunt him at every turn. note: so I started this three years ago after listening to got7′s face for the first time and I’ve been editing it and forgetting it ever since. lol maybe someone will enjoy it
Tumblr media
“Jaebum, I’m sorry.”
Okay.
“I really am.”
Okay.
“Please understand—”
Okay.
“Jae? Don’t just stand there.”
Okay.
“Please—please say something!”
Like what?
Jaebum didn’t know what she expected him to say, not after that. After she ripped out his heart.
“I don’t love you anymore, Jaebum. I’m sorry.”
She just stood there in the doorway, bag in hand, waiting for his response with tears in her eyes. He knew she was trying to stay strong, he could see her lip trembling as she held it between her teeth. How long would she wait there? How long would she bat her eyelashes at him innocently waiting for him to make it all okay? What did she even want from him? Forgiveness? Reassurance? Did she think that somehow an apology would make their breakup hurt any less?
“Goodbye, Seohyun.” He forced out through clenched teeth. “Thanks for everything.”
“Wait—Jaebum—!”
Closing the door on both her and their three year relationship, Jaebum couldn’t remember what he did next. He couldn’t remember clawing every photograph off the walls, he couldn’t remember how his fingers stung as they dug into the plaster. He couldn’t recall pulling every plate from their cabinets, he couldn’t recall how his feet bled when he stepped on the broken porcelain. He couldn’t recollect how much he hated the man who stared at him in the mirror, he couldn’t recollect how his fist destroyed the glass and how it finally reflected how he felt inside.
“I don’t love you anymore, Jaebum. I’m sorry.”
That was over a year ago. And it felt like an eternity to him. Looking at himself now, suit neatly pressed, shoes freshly shined, he didn’t see any semblance of the man from that night. After he destroyed everything that reminded him of her, as he saw the pictures of happier times reduced to embers in the fireplace, he made himself a promise. He swore that he would never let anyone ruin him so completely ever again. Steeling his heart and caging it in ice, he wouldn’t even give them the chance.
Never again.
“Jae?” Jinyoung inquired, knuckles rasping against Jaebum’s door. “We’re heading out for drinks, want to come with?”
He didn’t even look up from the reports he was filing. “Can’t. I’m busy.”
Jinyoung crossed his arms. “Shocker. You’re always busy.”
“That comes with being the boss.” Jaebum countered easily.
Rolling his eyes, Jinyoung leaned against the doorframe. “C’mon, Jae, just pretend you’re a regular guy and not an office robot for a couple of hours. Would it hurt to have a little fun?”
“Maybe. Socializing is against my programming.” Jaebum teased in a robot voice. “I cannot acquiesce to your request.”
“Dammit Jae.” Jinyoung sighed in disbelief. “Your humor is wasted in this tiny little room. Go out with us. Free yourself from the confines of this dastardly place. One night with the guys isn’t going to kill you. And if it does, I’ll buy lunch for a week. Scouts honor.”
Jaebum snickered quietly. “Alright, if it gets you to shut up I’ll go out for a couple of hours.”
“And do a couple of shots?” Jinyoung pressed hopefully.
“Don’t push your luck, Jin.” Jaebum chastised him, leering over his glasses. “I’ll have a glass of wine and that’s it.”
“I’ll take it.” Jinyoung shrugged. “We’re leaving in ten minutes. You want to catch a ride with me?”
Pursing his lips, Jaebum shook his head. “I’ve got to turn these in before I go. I’ll meet you there if you text me the address.”
Jinyoung narrowed his eyes at his friend suspiciously. “I swear to God, Jae, if you flake on us I’m going to come back here and kick your sorry ass.”
“Like you could take me.” Jaebum smirked. “Just go, I’ll be there soon. Promise.”
Jinyoung didn’t relent, his head dragging as he headed towards his own office. “I’ve got my eyes on you, Im Jaebum. You’re not going to fool me.”
“I’m not trying to fool you.” Jaebum informed him. “But if you keep bothering me I’m going to magically find a stack of financial statements that need to be filed. And who better to file them than my good buddy Park Jinyoung—”
“See you there!” Jinyoung interrupted, dashing down the hall like his heels were on fire. “I’ll text you!”
Chuckling at the expense of his friend, Jaebum leaned back in his chair and tapped his pen against his leg. He couldn’t remember the last time he went out just to go out. It had been too long since he was desperate for the numbing sensation of alcohol pulsing through his veins to simply function normally. The last time he could remember drinking he couldn’t recall anything that happened after. Not until he woke up in some woman’s bed that he didn’t bother to learn the name of. He wanted to feel bad, or at least some part of him did. Because she wasn’t the first, and she most certainly wouldn’t be the last.
Not tonight. He decided. Not this time.
When his phone lit up, a text message from Jinyoung waiting for him impatiently, Jaebum quickly got to work. As much as he tried to keep his stoic face in front of his friend, he needed to get out of the office. If he had to read another poorly written report littered with inaccuracies and spelling errors, he was going to lose his mind. Jinyoung’s offer could not have come soon enough.
By the time he was done, the sun was already starting to set. Cursing underneath his breath, Jaebum grabbed his coat and bolted out the door. Opting to take the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator, he checked the bus schedule while tugging on his gloves. Jinyoung had already been at the bar much longer than he’d like, meaning that Jaebum wasn’t going to get out of the night unscathed. Lucky for him he was always prepared for such occasions. The bottle of aspirin in his desk drawer and him were about to be fast friends.
“Jae!” Jinyoung screamed through the phone. “Where are you!”
Jaebum groaned loudly as he made it out to the street. “I’m sorry, I’m still at the office. But I’m leaving now, I’ll be there in a few minutes.”
“You better be!” Jinyoung continued. “Because I’ll—I’ll kick your ass if you’re not!”
“Shut up Jinyoung, you’re drunk.” He muttered, ending the call and stuffing his phone in his pocket.
Wrapping his scarf around his neck, Jaebum walked briskly to the bus station just down the block. Instantly regretting turning down Jinyoung’s offer for a ride when the cold winter air pelted his skin. Opening his eyes even the slightest caused his eyes to water, each step he took sent a chill down his spine, frost nipped at the tips of his ears, he could barely stand it.
As he waited less than patiently, Jaebum found himself watching the people that passed him. An elderly woman wearing a mismatched set of mittens, a small dog in a boorish sweater jogging along beside her. Two school boys fussing over a handheld video game, laughing jovially despite their harsh words. A young couple walking hand in hand, their eyes filled with affection and warmth, leaving Jaebum with a foul taste in his mouth.
“I don’t love you anymore, Jaebum. I’m sorry.”
Lighting a cigarette, he did his best not to think about Seohyun. About how she left him on a night just like this. How each kiss on her eager lips tasted like lies. How her brown eyes hollowed out his very soul. And how each promise she made cut him like knives. Jaebum had been trying to erase her from his life for a whole year. But no matter how much he drank, or how many women he kissed, he could still taste her on his tongue.
Even cigarettes do nothing to mask her taste. He mused, inhaling deeply and savoring the tobacco that filled his lungs.
When the bus pulled up to the curb, Jaebum dropped his unfinished cigarette in the street. Sighing, he tapped his foot impatiently as the doors opened and people spilled out onto the sidewalk. He had completely forgotten how cramped public transport could get during the winter. Another reason why he hated the desolate season. And Jinyoung’s persistent drunken text messages and calls weren’t helping his rapidly souring mood.
“What is it now, Jinyoung?” Jaebum exasperated, getting on the bus and swiping his card.
“Do you know that fish cake shop by the bar?” Jinyoung asked sluggishly. “The one that I really really like?”
Jaebum pinched the bridge of his nose as he found a seat at the back of the bus. “No, I do not. But I take it you want me to stop there?”
“Yeeeesss.” He dragged out. “I’m dying for a good fish cake.”
Sometimes I wonder how we’re friends. “Alright, fine, I’ll get you your stupid fish cake. How far away from the bar is the shop?”
“Not far at all!” Jinyoung exclaimed. “Just down the street a ways, you can’t miss it! Thanks Jae! You’re the best!”
Beep beep beep.
Pocketing his phone, Jaebum did his best not to let the night get away from him. He had to keep reminding himself that all of his problems could easily be solved with the bottle of scotch that was waiting at the bar. Jinyoung owed him, and getting free drinks out of him while he was drunk was an easy task for Jaebum. All of that was worth the annoying errands that his best friend was infamous for sending him on.
There’s a scotch on the rocks waiting for you. He told himself over and over again. Do it for the scotch. Scotch can get you through anything.
“Now approaching, Namdaemun Market. Thank you for choosing Seoul Public Transportation, have a nice day.”
As the bus rolled to a complete stop, Jaebum quickly stood and waited for the doors to open. Shouldering past the new borders, he apologized quietly, thankful to finally be off the cramped bus and back out on the street. Even if it was a bit colder than he remembered. Shivering, he pulled his lapel taught over his face, scanning his surroundings for the fish cake shop he was supposed to visit. What he found instead was a ghost from his past. A ghost with hair as black as the hole she gouged into his chest.
Seohyun? He swallowed nervously, his palms sweating despite the brisk December air. Is it really her? Please—please tell me that I’m seeing things.
It had to be her, he knew it deep down inside. He knew by the way his heart stopped, how his stomach sank, that it couldn’t be anyone else. But—his mind wasn’t so easily convinced. How could it be her? How could Lee Seohyun be standing right in front of him? Just as beautiful as the day she ripped out his heart without a care in the world. Waiting outside an electronics kiosk, a lollipop stick protruding from her perfect cherry red lips and a guitar slung over her shoulder as if—
A guitar? Jaebum questioned. Since when does Seohyun know how to—
Realization dawned on Jaebum almost instantly. His eyes were playing tricks on him, like they had so many times before. It wasn’t Seohyun, it would never be Seohyun. No matter how much a small miniscule part of him still wanted her back in his arms, she never would be his. The woman before him was simply his projection of something he would never have. Underneath his breath, Jaebum cursed himself for being hung up on her after all this time.
Still, his gaze didn’t waver as he watched the Seohyun look alike walk down the street. The resemblance was uncanny, had he been intoxicated he would’ve surely mistaken her for Seohyun. She even walked like her. The way her hips swayed—Jaebum couldn’t bring himself to look away. She was beautiful, breathtaking, mysterious, entrancing, the same dangerous formula that Jaebum became addicted to so easily.
For a brief moment, he couldn’t find the differences between them. From the way her dark hair fell languidly over her shoulders, the way her lips twitched into a hesitant smile, how her eyes glistened with a palpable passion. It was almost as if he was looking at a direct reflection of a memory. One he would’ve preferred to remain lost to time.
I need to get to this fish cake shop. Jaebum reminded himself. More importantly, I need to get the hell out of here.
Gathering his runaway thoughts, he started down the busy street, doing his best to avoid the mysterious woman. She was a reminder that he couldn’t afford to fall back into the hole that Seohyun cast him into. The man that loved Seohyun wasn’t one that Jaebum admired. In fact, he was a man that Jaebum tried time and time again to erase. And, until that exact moment, he thought he was doing a fair job of it.
“Get your fish cakes here! Best around!”
Jaebum’s ears perked up at the shouting vendor, appreciating the distraction more than he cared to admit. Besides, his head was in a complete haze ever since he spotted that woman. He wouldn’t have been able to find the shop on his own even if he ran right into the door. Which he practically did. The control Seohyun still had over him terrified him to no end. And he had only seen a woman who looked like her, it wasn’t even her. He shuttered to imagine what would’ve happened if she was really there. Whispering in his ear, her hands gliding up his body, the curves of her body beneath him—
“Jaebum…”
Squeezing his eyes shut, Jaebum willed her husky voice away. The shivers that travelled down his spine—he had to ignore them. He had to get away from her. Ducking into the shop, he quickly purchased the fish cakes and left without a word to the clerk. He feared his own voice, feared how it would betray him. The only thing that mattered to him was getting to the bar and as far away from her as possible.
Without really paying attention to where he was going, Jaebum shouldered past someone and sent them stumbling backwards. Unconsciously, he reached out to steady them, taking hold of their wrist and pulling them in close to him before realizing who it was. It was her. Her. Her slender wrists were within his grasp, her dark eyes looked up at him in surprise, and coherent thought evaded him.
“Thanks!” She exhaled, running a hand through her hair. “I really should look where I’m going.”
At that close distance she looked even more like Seohyun. Jaebum didn’t think it was physically possible, but the proof was right in front of him. The scent of her perfume filled his senses, taking him back to a time when her fragrance was the only thing between them. He tried to swallow past the lump in his throat, he tried to respond, he tried to say anything that could distract himself from her lips. Her perfectly shaped cherry red lips…
Brushing her hair over her shoulder, she offered him a dangerous look. “Not much of a talker, are you?”
Jaebum never made it to the bar that night.
He woke up the next morning tangled in sheets that weren’t his own. Lying beside him was the woman who unknowingly unravelled every effort he had made to forget about Seohyun. She made him painfully aware that his previous beliefs were nothing more than optimistic delusions. Jaebum hadn’t moved past her, not even in the slightest. He wasn’t sure if he ever would.
As was customary after every one night stand he stumbled into, he quickly pulled his clothes back on and quietly left her apartment without bothering to wake her. He called for a taxi, pointedly ignoring all of the angry texts and numerous voicemails left by Jinyoung as he made his way home. Jaebum wasn’t in the mood to explain himself. Ironically enough, all he wanted to do was drink. He settled for a silent ride through the city that was supposed to save him from himself, but he was beyond saving.
Days passed and he couldn’t shake the memory of Seohyun’s lookalike beneath him. She was a rarity, an anomaly that wandered into his life without any sort of warning. And as easily as she traipsed through his thoughts, she was gone. Frankly that was his own fault, he did it for his own good but it didn’t matter to him. He wanted her, he wanted more, his body ached for her in a way that was all too familiar. He sat at his desk, fists clenched in rage, hating himself for falling back into his old ways. All he wanted was a life without Seohyun, he wasn’t sure it was possible anymore.
At first, he was determined to stay away from her. He willed his thoughts and memories to the back of his mind, trying to get on with his life once more. But it wasn’t so simple. He found himself back on that street corner without realizing how he got there just a few nights later. Diligently looking for the cherry red lips that stained his own and drove him wild.
He would always find his way back to her.
“Did you miss me?”
She came up beside him with a coy smirk, she already knew his answer.
“Still not much of a talker, are you?”
Soon after they would wind up in bed again, as it was slowly becoming their routine. Jaebum had never felt more connected to a complete stranger, someone who could’ve easily gone through life without ever meeting him. He had Seohyun back, in some way. Like a ghost from the past letting him have one last glance at what could’ve been. He could’ve been happy, he was happy. Now he didn’t know what he was. All he knew was her because that was all he wanted to know. And he wanted to know more.
On the first day he learned her lips, on the second day he learned her name.
On the third day she learned his.
“Jae...” She breathed beneath him, desperate for him as he was for her. “Please…”
He loved how she said his name. It pained him that he couldn’t say hers.
“Jae.” She tested on her tongue. “You called me Seohyun again.”
He watched absentmindedly as her delicate fingers dusted over his skin, offering nothing more than a quiet, “Sorry.”
“It’s okay.” She mused. “I just need to know, someone you’re running from or running to?”
“I don’t love you anymore, Jaebum. I’m sorry.”
“Both.”
She visibly winced at his honesty. “Well, I hope I can help with that a little.”
And she did. Her lips pressed against his jaw as her hand slid down his abdomen, he hissed in response and took her in his arms. She was—magic. The second his mind would be occupied by thoughts of Seohyun she would pull him in with her own hypnotic gaze, letting him forget about the woman that brought them together in the first place. It didn’t last for long, but the reprieve was appreciated nevertheless.
On the fourth day he called her Seohyun again. The fifth day was the same.
On the sixth day he said her name and she smiled.
He lost track of the days after that.
The moment their relationship stopped being casual and became something more wasn’t entirely obvious to Jaebum. One day he simply woke up and instead of hoping to see her again soon he decided that soon wasn’t enough. They started to see each other every single day, some of those days didn’t end up in bed either. Maybe that’s when he noticed that she was more to him than he originally intended. Maybe that’s when he knew he was doomed to be in love with Seohyun for the rest of his life. Forever seeking her out in the woman he had hoped would make him forget.
One morning when she was gathering her things, giving Jaebum the space he had so foolishly convinced himself he needed, he asked her to stay. So she stayed. He couldn’t ever remember things with Seohyun being so simple. Seohyun was a woman that made Jaebum fight for every inch, beg for every moment, he was addicted to her and didn’t realize how quickly she was killing him. While he didn’t want to admit it, the moment she left him was probably the kindest thing she had ever done.
But she was perfect and he still loved her.
He hated himself, as he spent more time with her and could only see Seohyun in her eyes, he hated himself. He had hoped that they would separate, that he would see her for her and not for the woman he hated and loved all at once. Because she was perfect just as Seohyun was, all he had to do was wait for the inevitable. Either he would get fed up with her or she would realize the truth. She would learn that she was a replacement for someone that wasn’t worth replacing. Someone he evidently couldn’t let go.
“You look like you have a lot on your mind.” She whispered, dusting her fingers over his arm. “Do you want to talk about it?”
What hurt him most, was that she loved him. She loved him. Not some version of him that only existed as a ghost in her mind, as a lie she couldn’t give up. She loved him for exactly who he was. A man who looked at her and saw another, who reached for her everyday, who was haunted by a touch that was forever ingrained in his skin. He was disgusted by the man she loved, by himself. But if he ever told her the truth, he knew it would break her heart.
Break her like Seohyun destroyed him.
And then she would be gone.
So he would continue to lie to her, betray her no matter how much his own words tore him up inside. A sensation that was all too familiar, one he knew better than most after knowing Seohyun for as long as he did. Ironically, he was just like her. Selfish to the very end.
“I’m alright.” He lied easily as always.
Except she wasn’t convinced, not in the slightest. She had never been convinced of his lies, he could tell just by looking at her that she was enduring his facade as much as he was. Pretending to be fooled so they could continue in blissful ignorance. Because she knew his heart better than even he did, a heart that had long since been locked away. Because she loved him despite everything that he was. And everything that he wasn’t.
It was close to their anniversary when he decided that enough was enough. She had introduced him to her friends, her parents, and he had done the same. Their lives had become intertwined to a point that severing their ties could only result in a catastrophic mess. He had to come clean, he had to put his heart at ease and end the nightmare he almost believed was a dream. He had to let Seohyun go, he had to let her go. Once and for all he had to free himself from her grasp and break a heart that belonged to a woman whose only mistake was running into a man in a fish cake shop.
“I don’t love you anymore, Jaebum. I’m sorry.”
His heart ached as he thought about that day, hated how much his own actions would soon imitate that very moment. Looking at someone who loved you with everything that they had and telling them that it was all over. That you never loved them. That everything was a lie. That you were nothing but a monster.
God I need a drink.
So to put a bit of distance between them, to gather his thoughts, he went to the bar that technically started it all. He ordered his usual drink, he pretended to watch a game that didn’t interest him, and he sat in silence as the moments ticked by. Every now and again the bartender would try to strike up a conversation, but after being ignored for the fifth time he finally gave up. Jaebum wasn’t in the mood to pretend to be a decent human being, it was taking every concerted effort he could afford to keep himself from falling apart at the seams.
And despite the fact that he had been sitting at the bar with two fingers of scotch in front of him for nearly an hour, he had yet to take a single sip. He kept swirling it in his hand instead, using it more as a distraction from his rampant thoughts than a means to soothe his agitated nerves. As much as he wanted to get the whole ordeal over with, he couldn’t get drunk. He had been selfish enough in the past year, he had to endure the next few hours sober because she deserved more than what she was given. She deserved more respect than he had ever offered her. And he deserved the misery he was destined for.
Once a couple of hours had passed, he decided it was time to face her. She would be starting dinner soon and he didn’t want her to waste her time. Not when he was going to be effectively kicking her out of his life forever. With a sigh, he put on his jacket to leave and pushed his untouched drink back towards the bartender. Then, a young woman took a seat beside him.
“Why don’t you let me join you for a drink?” She hummed seductively. “You’re looking a little stressed.”
For fucks sake. “Thanks, but no thanks.” He returned without looking at her. “I’ve got better things to do.”
Apparently she wasn’t giving up so easily. “Is that anyway to talk to a pretty girl like me?”
Glancing at her, he wasn’t impressed. “Sorry, but I have somewhere I need to be. Drink by yourself if you’re so inclined.”
As he stood to leave, she took a firm grasp of his arm. “Jaebum? Are you seriously going to ignore me? Are you really that cruel?”
He rolled his eyes at her continued pathetic attempts. “You even learned my name, wow. How long have you been watching me?”
Turning back to look at her, he realized there was something familiar about her. Something he couldn’t quite put his finger on. But that didn’t matter to him.
“Seriously, I’m not on the market.” He persisted. “Good day.”
“Jaebum!” She shouted in disbelief. “Do you seriously not recognize me? We dated for three fucking years, I feel like I’m owed more than a cold shoulder. Or are you the complete asshole you’ve always been?”
A chill ran down his spine.
“Don’t just stand there!”
No… it—it can’t be… that voice...
“Say something!”
Seohyun?
Realization dawned on him, stomach acid rose in his throat. It had to be her, there wasn’t a doubt in his mind after hearing her say that. Those words, nearly those exact words were seared into his soul ages ago. That voice berated him for years. There was no way he would ever mistake that voice for anyone else. But—she didn’t look like the Seohyun he remembered. The mere sight of her didn’t drive him mad, he didn’t have to fight back the urge to throw himself at her feet. She was Seohyun without the best and the worst parts of her.
She wasn’t the woman he loved.
Not anymore.
“Wow…” He exhaled with a smile. “You’ve really changed, haven’t you.”
Which, now that the initial shock had worn off, he realized that she was the exact same. Painfully so. Her nails were freshly manicured, her hair and makeup were set perfectly in place, her clothes were fresh off the runway, she was Seohyun in every sense of the word. Perfectly plucked from time and placed in front of him. She was everything he thought he loved. Before he learned what love really looked like. And god it didn’t look like her.
“And you haven’t changed at all.” She huffed. “Still the rude asshole I dumped forever ago. I can’t believe I doubted myself for a second there, spotting you across the bar made it seem like the good old times. But I really made the right call, didn’t I?”
He couldn’t help but laugh. “You really did. Goodbye, Seohyun. Thanks for everything.”
She scoffed as he left. “Yeah, whatever.”
After that, Jaebum didn’t hesitate. He took off running for the bus stop, desperate to get home to a woman that he had loved for a whole year and just didn’t know it. He had been so sure that the love he felt for her was just a projection, that she only reminded him of Seohyun so that was the only reason he loved her. Never in all his life had he been happier to be wrong.
I love her… He chanted in his head, over and over again. I love her!
Once he got home, he burst through the door and stopped immediately when he saw her standing there. How had he never noticed before? She was beautiful, she was perfect, she was the woman he loved with his whole heart and he was a fool for not knowing sooner. She made him laugh, she made him smile, she made him forget about Seohyun a hundred times and even wiped her from his heart forever. And he was the idiot who thought it was all a lie.
“What’s wrong, Jaebum?” She asked innocently. “Is something on your mind?”
“Yes.” He confirmed easily, approaching her slowly and taking her hands in his. “I’ve done a lot of thinking, a lot of soul searching this past year, trying to make sense of my feelings for you. And I think I finally know what my brain has been telling me since the very beginning.”
There was a nervous glint to her eyes, but she played along. “What would that be?”
“That I love you.” He smiled. “I love you for being you and no one else.”
Those words, those simple words that wouldn’t make any sense to someone else, made her face light up like a fireworks display. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face into his chest, overwhelmed with a feeling he knew all too well. For the first time in four years, Jaebum could breathe. A huge weight had lifted from his shoulders, the ghost of Seohyun was finally gone. He was free.
“I love you too…” She mumbled. “I’ve loved you for so long…”
“I know.” He whispered gently, tilting her chin up and kissing her gently. “And I will thank you everyday for waiting for me.”

BTS Reaction: Their child throws a temper tantrum
Tumblr media
Requested: yes, a while ago, sorry lovebug <3
a/n: hope you guys like it :)
no warnings unless you don't like kids throwing tantrums.
KIM SEOKJIN:
Tumblr media
"Seungwoo, baby. I need you to eat please." You set your fork down and sigh at the small boy sitting across the table with his arms folded and a grumpy look on his face. Next to him; his twin brother is happily munching away on the steamed broccoli that Seungwoo refuses to touch.
"No!" Seungwoo whines out and kicks the air in frustration. You sigh again and look up to see Jin coming out from the bedroom; he's got his jacket off and is pulling to loosen his necktie as he saunters to the table.
"Sorry baby, I had to finish some work. Thanks for making dinner." He gives you a sweet cheek kiss and you nod with a half smile when he sits next to you to start eating.
A tiny thump against the table makes everyone look up in confusion, "what was that?" Jin asks as he scans the room. You sigh for the umpteenth time when you look at Seungwoo who's glaring at you.
"It was Seungwoo. He's mad about the broccoli I made." Jin arches an eyebrow at your statement and looks over at the tiny boy who is now glaring at his father.
"Is that so?"
Seungwoo kicks the table again and Hwangwoo starts to cry.
"Seungiiii, stop ittt!" Jin stands up before any louder chaos can break out. He walks over and picks Hwangwoo up, patting his back to make him stop crying.
"I guess since Hwangi is the only one to eat his dinner like a good boy, he can have some cake now." You shake your head at his stupid attempt to solve things, and you're about to speak up when Seungwoo starts to shovel broccoli into his tiny mouth faster than lightning. You look at him in shock, "hey, slow down, baby. You're gonna choke. You can have some cake too after you're finished, ok?" Seungwoo nods tearfully at you and you can't help but feel a little tear in your heart. He really is a good boy. He just hates broccoli.
Jin nods in satisfaction and sets Hwangwoo down before sitting again himself. He smirks at you as if to say, dad's the coolest huh? You shake your head and continue eating now that the room isn't full of loud toddlers who don't want their vegetables.
MIN YOONGI:
Tumblr media
"Alright Suki, what do you want to go on first?" Yoongi smiles down at his little girl as they stand by the playground; her holding tightly to his hand with her tiny one. Suki shrugs and shyly watches all the other children play; running around and screaming as they climb the jungle gym.
Suki points at the sand, so Yoongi nods and sits down; patting the ground next to him. She plops down and starts to dig a random hole. Yoongi follows suit as they both shovel sand with their hands.
~
After a little while, Suki looks up and sees the swing set. She stands up and runs to it, while Yoongi struggles to get up from his sitting position.
"Suki, wait up baby!" Yoongi catches up to her just in time to see her pouting at the kid that took the swing before she could grab it. In a split second, Suki is scream crying at the top of her lungs while the kid that took the swing jumps off and runs to the jungle gym, turning back and giving her a weird look. Yoongi picks Suki up and despite her loud protests, he carries her to the car. Once he reaches it, Yoongi sets her down and crouches to her level.
"Look at me, love." Suki looks up tearfully and Yoongi sighs while wiping her tears. "What's going on? You know you can't behave like that." She shrugs, then a big yawn escapes her mouth and Yoongi smiles softly.
"Sleepy?"
Suki nods and pouts, "Sorry daddy. For being bad." Yoongi picks her up and puts her in, buckling her up in her car seat.
"You're not a bad girl, Suki. Just remember that screaming isn't going to make you feel any better, and it won't get you what you want. Let's go take your nap, ok?" Suki sniffles and nods, holding her arms out to wrap them around her daddy's neck.
Yoongi hugs her gently and kisses her wet cheek, "love you, babygirl."
JUNG HOSEOK:
Tumblr media
Hobi walked through the front door and almost immediately tripped over a toy firetruck lying in the pathway. He sighed and picked it up, walking precariously around other toys scattered about. Setting the truck down out of anyone's tripping path, Hobi looked into the kitchen and saw you frantically chopping vegetables and stirring something in a pot on the stove.
He smiled and set his bag down, walking over to wrap his arms around you. You stop at his movements and turn to give him a quick hug, "hi, baby! Dinner will be ready soon, but can you please tell San to clean up his toys before we eat?" Your husband nodded and made his way to the bedroom. He saw your son, San, playing in his room. Hoseok smiled and knocked lightly, startling San. The little boy looked up and smiled brightly at his dad. Then, he ran and jumped into Hoseok's arms, "I missed you, Daddy!"
Hobi smiled and hugged San tightly, "I missed you too, buddy!" A look around San's room proved that there would be a lot of cleaning to do before dinner, and there was still the living room. Hobi put San down and crouched to his level, "Ok, Sannie. How about we clean this all up before we eat dinner, yeah?" San's face turned indignant and he crossed his little arms over his chest.
"No!" He whined and Hoseok sighed.
"I'm going to help you with it, Sannie. Come on." He got up and started to put the toys into the play chest. San ran over and snatched a little robot out of his father's hands, throwing it to the ground and stomping his tiny foot.
"No! No wanna clean!!!"
"San!" Hoseok looked at his son in shock. He was only three, but Hobi wasn't about to let him start acting like that and thinking it's acceptable.
San started scream crying and throwing his stuffed animals around the room. Hobi picked him up and held the flailing child, trying not to get kicked in the face.
"San! Stop this right now!" At his father's tone; San stopped squirming and hung limply in his dad's arms, sniffling and wiping his nose.
"What on earth is the matter, baby? You never behave like this." Hoseok hugged the small boy to his chest to calm him down. San sniffed again, "I no want to clean. I want to play." His daddy rubbed his back in a comforting rhythm.
"I know, Sannie. But, momma wants a nice clean house and we want a happy momma, don't we? We don't want momma to be sad." San looked up and finished wiping his eyes as he nodded his head.
"I want momma be happy, daddy."
"Ok then, let's clean this mess up and then eat dinner. Sound okay?"
"Yes, daddy."
"Love you, San."
KIM NAMJOON:
Tumblr media
Namjoon pushes the cart through the store, following you as you walk with a destination in mind. You make it to the baby aisle and smile in satisfaction as you grab the baby wipes.
"Ok! I have a few more things I need to get, but Jia looks like she'd rather be doing something else. Could you maybe go around the kid section with her, Joonie?" You smile at your two year old daughter, who is sat in the cart, all buckled up and with her thumb in her mouth; smiling at you. You're expecting another baby soon, and Joon is already practically an expert with Jia, you know he can handle her.
Namjoon smiles and nods, "of course, baby! Just text me when you're ready to go. But, can I buy her a little something?" You laugh and nod.
"Yes Joonie, you can buy her one thing, ok?" Namjoon gives you a thumbs up and high-fives Jia who smacks his hand with her tiny one then goes into a fit of giggles. Then they rush away towards the kids aisle as you laugh at your husband's silly antics.
Namjoon reaches the kid section and Jia's face lights up at all the toys.
"Daddy! Daddy dat one! I wan dat one!" Jia is bouncing around in her seat and pointing at a big blue fluffy pig that's about the size of her. Namjoon beams and reaches to grab it, handing it to the small girl and smiling brightly at her.
"Good choice, Jia!"
The pair of them continue looking around the toys for fun until Jia demands her father to stop the cart. "What is it?" Namjoon asks curiously. Jia points to a big barbie house with barbies included in the set, "I wan dat one."
"You want that instead of the piggy?"
"No! I wan piggy and I wan dolly." Namjoon sighs quietly, "I'm sorry, Jia; only one toy. Maybe daddy can get that for you for your birthday this year." Jia's eyes fill with tears at the rejection. Then she starts to whine and kick in her seat, "no no no!"
Namjoon starts to panic, because Jia has hardly acted like this before and you're usually the one to make her calm again. Joonie turns to see a family staring at Jia's little show and he rolls his eyes in annoyance.
Nosy people.
Then he picks her up out of her seat and hugs her, because that's what you always do and it seems to work.
Not this time.
Jia cries harder, but hugs her daddy back. Her screams are right in his ear and he cringes while trying to talk her down, "It's okay, Jia baby. It's alright."
Namjoon sees you come from around the corner, a basket in your arms and a look of sympathy on your face. You put the basket in the cart and hold your arms out for the little girl. Namjoon gladly hands her over and Jia quiets to just whimpering as she hugs you tightly, "Daddy mean, momma. Daddy no let me get toy." You laugh at Namjoon's shocked face and pat your daughter on the back soothingly, "Daddy's nice, baby. He's gonna buy you the blue piggy here, but you have to be a good girl. Ok?" Jia nods and Namjoon shakes his head in disbelief.
"You're magic y/n. That's all there is to it."
PARK JIMIN:
Tumblr media
"Wooseok. I really need you to work with me here!" Jimin sighs in frustration when the two-year old boy zooms out of his arms and runs to his room, trying to shut the door before his father can catch him. Jimin is too fast for him though, and catches the door just before it shuts.
Wooseok turns and runs to hide under his covers; squealing when Jimin picks him up and tickles him. "Look, little guy. Momma is gonna be home soon, and if we don't get you all cleaned up before then I don't know what'll happen to daddy." Wooseok just laughs and tries to run again, but Jimin snatches him up. Jimin starts to undress the writhing child as best he can but Wooseok screeches and bolts for the door; nothing but a shirt and a bare booty as he's making a run for it.
"Wooseok, get back here!!" Jimin sighs again and runs his hands through his hair. Then he jumps up and chases after the half naked boy, who is now crying on the couch.
"Come on buddy, I'll try to make it quick. I promise." Wooseok just shakes his head and continues to cry and kick his legs in the air.
"Ok fine. I guess I'll just play baby shark in the bath all by myself then~" That makes Wooseok stop squirming, and he quiets down.
"Baby shark...?"
Jimin nods and stands up, "yup, it's a really fun game, but I guess I'll have to play it all by myself." Wooseok jumps up and runs his naked butt to the bathroom as fast as he can.
"I wanna play baby shark! I wanna play baby shark!" Jimin giggles and shakes his head, following his son to the bathroom to wash him up before you get home.
KIM TAEHYUNG:
Tumblr media
"Where is my little girl?~"
A fit of giggles bursts from the child's lips when she hears her daddy calling her. She runs and hides behind the curtains in the living room, trying to stop her laughs by covering her mouth with her tiny hand. Taehyung comes into the living room, hands on his hips and eyes scanning the sitting space. He giggles quietly when he sees teeny little feet under the curtain. Taehyung walks around and mumbles loudly to himself, "I wonder where my precious little baby could be. Oh my, how I miss her. I wish I could get some cuddles time right now." The little feet shift under the curtain then Tae sees a little head peek out from behind it and hears a little voice whisper, "I'm here daddy. Don't be sad."
He holds his arms out and she runs into them, wrapping her arms around his neck and squealing when he stands up. "Oh! I found my precious baby girl! I'm so happy!" He spins her around and she squeals again, but the laughter subsides at his next words, "Ok, Inyoung lovey. It's time for bed!"
"No!" Inyoung shrieks and flails out of her father's arms, just barely getting caught by him before she can fall on the ground. Luckily, Tae is used to her sudden lashing outs when she doesn't want to do something, so he was expecting her to try and fly out of his arms.
"Inyoung, baby. It's okay, bedtime is good. It means your little body can rest to be all ready to play tomorrow." That makes her hesitate, but then she's back to squirming and kicking in his grasp.
"No no no! I no wanna! I wanna play with Daddy!" She starts to cry and Tae holds her close, shushing her gently, "Daddy loves playing with you, Inyoungie. But right now is cuddles time. Don't you want cuddles with daddy?" Inyoung sniffles but nods her head tiredly, then lays her head on his chest when he starts to softly sing to her.
Taehyung walks to your shared room and lays down with Inyoung in his arms, cuddling her and singing her favorite lullaby. When you finally get home from the store; you smile at your two babies snoring softly while cuddled in each other's arms.
JEON JUNGKOOK:
Tumblr media
The inhuman scream that leaves Jinsoo's mouth is enough to leave Jeon Jungkook shooketh and shaking in his boots. The tiny human certainly can make one heck of a loud noise if she so wishes.
And she most definitely wishes.
Another scream makes Jungkook cover his ears and pout. He has absolutely no idea how to handle this. All he did was say 'no candy before dinner' and now World War III has broken out in the Jeon household. With no one here to fix it but himself, because you and your son Taesun went out for a mother and son date.
"Jinsoo, calm down!" Jungkook tries to speak over her insistent shrieking, but that only makes her cry louder. Her little red face and tear stained cheeks sobbing uncontrollably makes Jungkook's heart ache. All he wants to do is give in and let her have her candy, but he knows you don't like it when they eat a lot of sugar, especially before a meal.
So all he can do is walk over and try to hug her, but she pushes him away and runs to the couch; stuffing her face into the cushions and continuing to cry her little heart out at the loss of her sweets. At least the pillows have muffled her tears so now Jungkook can think clearly. He walks over and sits next to her, rubbing her back gently and letting her cry it out. Occasionally, Jungkook kisses her fuzzy little head that's sticking out from the couch cushions. Eventually the tears stop and she's breathing steadily, so Jungkook picks her up and cuddles her in his arms.
"Daddy loves you, sweet girl. It's gonna be okay." He hums and rocks her back and forth while she sniffles, tired out from her fit. She can never resist her father's cuddles, even if she can't have any candy.
Jungkook is just so relieved that she's not crying anymore; it breaks his heart when she cries.
Well, if he was able to handle that. Jeon Jungkook can handle anything.

Day 4 - Family | “I can’t remember my parents’ faces.” | “I’m used to being alone, so it’s fine.”
This is part of a continuous story I’ve been writing for hugsaku. You can find previous parts either in my previous hugsaku posts or on ao3. The general story is: Yusaku ends up in Heartland with no idea how he got there, and Yuma decides to help Yusaku figure out how to get home. I’ll post a link to the ao3 in the notes.
Yuma and Yusaku are very interesting for this case, since their family situations are sort of the opposite of each other.
Yusaku kicked a rock lightly as he walked down the path behind Yuma, his hands in his pockets. Over the past few days, Yuma had been giving Yusaku a casual tour of the city while they kept an eye out for Numbers.
“Oh, there’s some litterbots.” Yuma pointed over to their left at a group of robots picking garbage up from the ground. “They’re these robots that go around the city and pick up garbage people have dropped. I’m not really a big fan of them, though. They keep thinking I’m garbage and they’ll pick me up and… It’s gross.”
Yusaku shrugged. “The robots would know better than me.”
“Hey, come on, you're supposed to be on my side!” Yuma protested.
Yusaku looked away, now staring at the litterbots. He could just barely hear them talking as they did their duty. They didn’t look like anything he’d seen in Den City, but something about them reminded him of…
“Are you listening to me? Hey, uh, are you okay?” Yuma looked up at Yusaku’s face with a frown. Then he followed Yusaku’s gaze to the litterbots. “Do you have those where you’re from, too?”
“No.” Yusaku paused for a moment “I’m probably just homesick or something. For some reason, those litterbots remind me of Roboppy.”
“Who’s Roboppy?”
“They’re a little cleaning robot I have. They’re very common around the city I live in. I built my Roboppy myself and edited their programming to give them a bit of a personality.”
“Whoa, that’s really cool! You gotta be really smart to do something like that.” Yuma frowned. “Do you miss Roboppy?”
“...I don’t know.” That was difficult to figure out. “It’s not like I wish they were here, but… Every day, after I came home, Roboppy would greet me. They’d be happy to see me. I’ve been so used to it that I never gave it a second thought until I ended up here and haven’t been able to see them. I think I just...miss that part of my routine.”
“Hmm. I could say hi to you whenever you come home.”
“I only leave the house when I’m with you, so that wouldn’t make any sense.” Yusaku rolled his eyes. “Besides, you’re not Roboppy.”
Yuma opened his mouth to respond, but he was interrupted. That’s when they spotted the first person with a Number Yusaku had seen since he met Yuma.
Their eyes glowed red, and there was a strange glow around the rest of their body.
“Numbers amplify the darkest desires of their host,” Astral explained quietly to Yusaku while Yuma loudly confronted the other person. “When they possess you, they block out everything else. When you resisted the Number you held, that’s what you overcame. It seems most humans cannot.”
Yusaku looked at Astral with a frown.
He could tell that Number he’d had was powerful when he held it. He’d wanted to keep it, even without knowing if it would work well with his deck or any of his cards at all. But the card seemed like it could’ve been a useful tool for his goals. Why did he want to keep it? How much of it was because he didn’t like to duel, and how much was because he’d already committed to walking into a path of darkness long ago? After all, he’d never set out specifically to be a ‘good guy’. That’s just how it worked out.
Astral looked away from Yusaku. “Well, the only way forward is to win this Number in a duel. You should stay out of this; it’s dangerous to duel a Number without one of your own. They can only be defeated by other Numbers. Yuma and I can take care of this.”
Yusaku had no objections to that. He certainly wasn’t eager to jump into a duel.
“Yeah, we got this, no problem! You can cheer for us!” Yuma ran over to Astral and Yusaku. “Hey, Yusaku, where’s your Duel Gazer?”
“My what?”
Yusaku already knew that this place didn’t have a virtual duel world like he was familiar with. But apparently, duels here made use of augmented reality technology. In order to see what was happening in the duel, you needed to look through some accessory. That set off several red flags in Yusaku’s head.
“I’ll pass,” he told Yuma once the whole thing had been explained to him.
“But you won't be able to see me crush this guy.”
“My ears work perfectly fine,” Yusaku said. Right now, he had no interest in seeing anything using augmented reality. Listening would be good enough.
The duel was difficult to watch. Yusaku envied the way Yuma could have fun dueling no matter what. Really, he did. Yusaku hadn’t been able to experience that since he was much younger than Yuma, and he suspected he wouldn’t be able to for many years to come if he ever would be able to at all. But Yusaku did used to enjoy the game, and he wished he could have fun again now. Watching Yuma have fun wasn’t the difficult part. What made this hard for Yusaku was how unprepared Yuma had come to this duel, knowing he would have to duel again soon and knowing how important it would be to win.
At least Astral knew what he was doing, but ultimately Yuma made all the final decisions between the two of them and Yuma had a tendency to get annoyed by Astral’s suggestions and ignore them.
Yusaku could barely breathe through the close calls that Yuma barely made it through. Yuma didn’t know a lot of his own cards’ effects. At one point, Yuma tried to play a trap card face-up in his monster zone. Trap monsters still had to follow the rules of traps. (“But it says when you play it to summon it like it’s a monster!” “Yuma, that only takes place after you activate the trap like you would any other trap.”)
In the end, however, Yuma and Astral were able to win the duel and take the Number back. Astral didn’t remember any significant memories from the Number; nothing helpful for Astral nor Yusaku.
Yuma ran to Yusaku after the duel. He didn’t seem fazed by any of the mistakes or close calls from his duel.
“That duel was so much fun!” Yuma yelled. “It was a tough one, but I was feeling the flow, and my dad’s cards came through like they always do!”
“Your dad’s cards?” Yusaku asked.
“Yeah.” Yuma closed his right hand around the key hanging from his neck. “This used to be my dad’s, too.” He stared off into the distance, his voice growing softer and quieter than Yusaku had heard it since they met. “Carrying around this key and using my dad’s deck, it’s like he’s here with me. They remind me of everything he taught me.” He frowned. “My… Both my parents disappeared. I know they’re still out there somewhere, they gotta be, but it’s still hard not having them here, sometimes. Using his cards helps.”
Yuma had been upbeat, stubborn, and cheerful the entire time Yusaku had been in Heartland City. But on this topic, all of that seemed to strip away from Yuma, leaving him melancholy and vulnerable. Deep down, it seemed Yuma stubbornly refused to call anything impossible because hope was the only thing he could do.
Asking about Yuma’s deck had led them into a topic that seemed difficult for Yuma. Yusaku felt bad; he hadn’t meant to hurt him.
It struck Yusaku how similar their situations were...and yet, completely the opposite. Yusaku was the one who went missing, while for Yuma, it was his parents. Yuma never gave up hope his parents were out there. Yusaku wondered if that was how his parents felt back them. Of course, after he was rescued…
Yuma sniffed. “I shouldn’t mope about my own problems to you when you’ve got plenty of your own. Yours are probably so worried about you.”
For a moment, Yusaku forgot how to breathe. It seemed like parents still happened to be a sore spot for him as well. At least when the topic was his own parents. He cleared his throat. He needed to say something. (He didn’t see how his problems could be considered any more important than Yuma’s right now.) “I wouldn’t know.”
“Are your parents missing, too?” Yuma asked.
Yusaku shrugged. “Maybe. I haven’t seen them in years.” 10, to be exact. Not that it mattered or anything. “After I was rescued, they just weren’t there. They never came back.” His words got stuck in his throat. Yuma clearly looked up to his father, had found memories and a lot of love for his parents. As for Yusaku… “I can’t even remember my parents’ faces.”
“That’s awful.” Yuma looked devastated by the information. He lightly touched Yusaku’s arm, trying to offer comfort without overdoing it.
Yusaku didn’t push him away. “I’m used to being alone, so it’s fine.”
“That’s not true!” Yuma insisted. “Just because you’re used to it doesn’t make it okay. I’m used to my parents not being here, but that doesn’t make it okay. I miss them constantly. Kari misses them. My grandma misses them. It’s not good to be alone.” He paused. “If you’re used to being alone, you probably don’t have siblings, do you?”
“Not last I knew, which was a decade ago.” Yusaku hummed in thought. “I think the closest I’ve got is… Kolter’s brother was a victim of that incident, too.” No need to specify any further on Jin’s current state when that was private, and not Yusaku’s story to tell. “Kolter and I have been working together. We met because we both needed to figure out the truth behind what happened. Kolter also sells hot dogs for a living; he won’t let me pay him for hot dogs anymore, and he keeps a close eye on me. He tries to prevent me from overworking myself and tries to make me take care of myself.”
“He’s like an older brother to you, too,” Yuma commented.
Yusaku didn’t like to think about it. As a rule, he didn’t get close to anyone. Anyone who came close to him could be put in danger, and no one deserved that. He’d tried to push Kolter away several times when they first met, but Kolter was too persistent. He still felt guilty letting Kolter get involved, and the more he thought about his relationship with Kolter, the heavier that guilt felt. He only ever referred to Kolter as his acquaintance to keep anyone to think they were close, to keep him from worrying so much. Kolter was fully aware of any danger and signed up to work with Yusaku anyway, so worrying was pointless.
“I guess family doesn’t have to always be the people related to you by blood.” Yusaku shrugged. He didn’t confirm nor deny Yuma’s comment. “Sometimes you find people that are a better fit.” It wasn’t hard to be a better fit than someone who never found him again, honestly.
Yuma beamed. “Anyone can be family! As long as you have someone, you’re not alone.” He pulled Yusaku into a hug. “I’m glad you have someone. If nobody missed you, if you didn’t have anyone where you came from, I don’t know if I’d want you to go back, but… I’m happy to get you home since you do. You belong in the world you came from, and…and I get the feeling you and that hot dog guy need each other.”
Yusaku lightly wrapped an arm around Yuma. He didn’t know what to say since he was so wrapped up in his own thoughts.
Here, the incident never happened, and Yusaku wasn’t Playmaker. He still wasn’t exactly sure where that left him. But he had less of a reason to keep up a distance from everyone here since relationships wouldn’t put anyone in danger. He found himself relieved that Yuma still had a family even without his parents, and… He found himself relieved that Yuma was here to help him now. That he wasn’t doing this alone.
In a way, Yuma was starting to almost feel like a younger brother to him.

summary: "take me to your leader.“ you couldn’t believe it. this man was otherworldly in all sense of the word. "well I hope you’re hungry, my dude, we’re going to visit the king of burgers.”
or
Planet A3022 is on the brink of extinction. with little to no females there to repopulate and its king not interested in any one of them, he assigns one of his most trusted men to retrieve a female suited to his tastes willing enough to take his hand in marriage. things go haywire once the man in question crash lands into the considerably non technological Planet EA4728 with you there as witness.
genre: fluff, humor (??), angst, highkey crack, poly!au, alien!au
pairing: alien!taehyung x reader x alien king! ??
Tumblr media
The man curses in his native tongue, careful not to raise his voice, his temper. He has to remain cool-headed if he is to survive. He grips the rotational controls tighter, palms sweaty as is his back and forehead and shit shit- he's just sweaty all over he's just gross and could really just use a shower.
He jerks the rotational joystick in his grasp to the side just in time, laser beams firing overhead. They hit the comets and/or asteroids instead, resulting in a rain of heavy masses of metals and rocky material drilling holes into the spacecraft made by hand by a group of his kind's top engineers, yet despite that the man is almost sure it's barely even dented its heavy walls. It was made to sustain large amounts of damage. It was made for war, not for speed.
He hadn't raced in a while. And when he had, it had been for fun, back in his training days. This time he couldn't afford to lose. Though with a spacecraft of this size, it didn't seem like he was going to win, either.
He curses again when a particularly massive chunk of rock hits the front of his ship, red warning signs blaring at him immediately from all sides, robotic voices warning him of danger, danger, danger. It's not a big problem, he reassures himself. He doesn't have time to fix it, anyway, not when he's being chased. Though the chase being partly his own fault to begin with. He was being careless, falling asleep when he wasn't supposed to. The ship had been set to auto-pilot, its destination already inputted into the system, but that doesn't mean he was free from danger.
Stupid, stupid. Now he will never gain his king's trust again. He won't have much need for it if he's dead, though.
His breath catches in his throat as he approaches a considerably no-name planet. He'd bought time by firing at his pursuer's viewfinder, but it would only be a matter of time until they find him again. Chewing at his lower lip, he releases a breath as he rapidly inputs a code, praying to whichever higher deity that might be listening for him not to die- for him to please, please not die or, even worse, be found by the civilization he’s literally about to crash into.
"Emergency landing set to planet EA4728."
Tumblr media
"Any fives?"
"Go fish."
Jin grumbles mutely, passive aggressively snatching a card from the deck spread over the floor. You snicker, even as he kicks your shin, not discreet in the slightest. The man beside him snorts, so he kicks his shin, too.
Jungkook looks smug from where he sits beside you, raking a hand through his hair with his empty hands. Cardless hands, in fact. You were still stuck playing this mind numbing game with Jin. "Nines?"
"Go fish."
You grin when you end up picking up a nine, leaving Jin to whine at your cheeky expression. You were never good at the whole poker face thing. Jungkook likes to boast that he's won because of his mastering of it, despite this game being entirely based on luck. You curse him inwardly.
Jin clears his throat. "...got any fives now?”
"Still no."
A large intake of breath, followed by a yell of indignation— "This-" Jin starts, slamming his cards onto the pile on the floor, "-Is dumb." You watch in odd fascination as the older man goes to stand up, ending up hitting his head on the counter before letting out a yelp and then, only then do you remember where the three of you are. Shuffled, cramped, hidden under the check-out counter of Jin and his boyfriend’s shared flower shop, away from the customers' prying eyes.
Jungkook is straight up cackling beside you as the other male falls on his bottom, holding his head in his hands, and you're laughing even as your hand ends up brushing against the mustard-stained paper on the floor that once held Jin's sandwich. But you're happy and they're happy, so you wipe your hands on Jin's apron without hesitation.
You stand up, eyeing your surroundings, thankful for Jin's sake that there were no customers around to witness the unfortunate occurrence. You eye the poppies and roses and flowers you don't know the name of, the low hanging vines that grow along the ceiling, the smell of comfort and familiarity. You'd draw this if you could. Exactly this, an awash of greens and blues and oranges.
"Hyung how much longer until your shift ends?" Jungkook asks as he stands up beside you, placing a delicate finger over the bobby headed maneki neko on the counter. "I'm hungry and had to watch you eat your sandwich and it was, quite frankly, the worst experience of my life."
"You ate half of my fries." Jin says at the same time you say, "You ate half of his fries."
Jungkook's doe eyes that already scream innocence are now gleaming in betrayal. Why did his eyes have to be so big and open and honest. As if he doesn't already attract the attention and the protective instincts of anyone within a fifteen foot radius of him.
"I did not." Jungkook whines as you and Jin exchange looks. "I don't wanna hang out with you two anymore. I'll get a boyfriend, surely he'll appreciate me more."
"The whole gremlin vibe you have going on doesn't exactly give you much sex appeal." You say with a snort.
Jungkook makes a noise of indignation before, promptly, punching at Jin's stomach, the man letting out an unappealing oof before yelling—"What did I do?!"
The moment is (thankfully) interrupted by a tired Hoseok trudging out the backdoor, scratching at his chest. You step out to greet him, turning your back to the chaotic duo, immediately regretting it as you hear Jin mutter a "I dare you to put your hand in there."
The man, his arms already spread out in greeting, squeals out a "Y/nie!" the same time you squeal out a "Hoseokie!" before you promptly wrap your arms around his back, squeezing the life out of him, as he deserves. The man has it hard enough already.
When you two separate Jin and Jungkook are already behind him, Jin whining out a "Y/n, stop hogging my boyfriend" as he presses a kiss to the man's cheek. Jungkook is just hovering beside them with a look that screams ew, when will my dads get a room. Three seconds later he says "Gross, not in front of the baby."
"I thought you said you were an adult?" Hoseok mutters, amused.
"Not me, dumbass, I'm talking about Y/n!"
You could barely even open your mouth to argue before Hoseok continues with a playful sort of warning to his voice, "That's dumbass-hyung to you, brat." Jin shakes his head, patting his boyfriend's chest reassuringly, or maybe he just wanted to feel up his pecs. Pilates has been treating Hoseok well. Jungkook moves to pat the other (platonically, as all bros do). Hoseok doesn't move at this point, unfazed.
Your voice is flat, eyes narrowed at the scene. "Are we gonna, like, go or something?"
It takes a while for all four of you to clamber into the car, Hoseok in the drivers seat and Jin beside him, you and Jungkook on the back seats like children being taken on a road trip by their two chaotic dads. Hoseok had to have closed up shop first and foremost, saying goodbye to the flowers and kissing the ones he likes the most, particularly the peonies. Jin had only stared, used to it after working and (almost, you’re still waiting for the talk), living with the man for so long, occasionally checking the time on his watch for comedic effect.
Now you're all in a comfortable silence, the radio sometimes going from soft and relaxing music to Fergie or something but you don't mind, only watching the world go by from your window. Hoseok's voice cut through the silence only twice, first to ask if you were all going to his and your shared place and the second to ask Jin if he was gonna cook or if he should order pizza or something. (The first ended up being a firm yes, the second with Jin saying something along the lines of "Jungkook has a semi-healthy lifestyle and Y/n asked me if i wanted to grab dinner at one in the morning. I'm making spaghetti.")
You don't know how that agreement led to you being sprawled face-down on their couch, no food in sight. Hoseok and Jin disappeared a while ago and Jungkook suspected it was for less than innocent purposes but that can't be right, Jin never makes out with an empty stomach; Hoseok has said it, Jin himself has said it, it's a well known and not very interesting fact. You should have left with Jungkook for kebabs. What were you thinking. Damn Jin and his really good spaghetti sauce.
You sit up so quick it gives you whiplash, opening the door to your and Hoseok’s comfy apartment resolutely. "I'm leaving!" You don't expect much of a response, but you hear a thump somewhere around the bathroom area, so you take that as answer enough.
The brisk air hits you all at once as you walk outside, and you shiver before aggressively rubbing your arms for some kind of warmth. You didn't really think this through. You decide to walk forward with no jacket and no destination, letting your feet take you to wherever your heart desires.
Tumblr media
The man stays strapped to his seat as he goes through the planet's atmosphere, fingers digging into the armrests. He grits his teeth, watching as the blur of shapes and colors starts gaining form into trees and cities and life, and with the force of gravity pushing him back, he can't even lift his arms to steer the spacecraft into a space further away from the cities, for both their safety and his own.
He can only watch helplessly as he gets closer and closer, hoping and wishing and praying that he doesn't end up hurting someone, that he doesn't end up dying, himself. He's about to make a risky decision, he knows.
"My king-" he draws in a breath, squeezing his eyes shut, all too familiar faces coming into view, even from so so far away. "Forgive me."
Tumblr media
"Hoseok- oh! ah!"
"Sit still, you moron." Hoseok rolls his eyes, a fond smile creeping upwards against his will. "The kids are waiting on us."
"But i'm in pain." the younger male's massages turn into pinches at that, and Jin sits up startled with a yelp.
Hoseok pats the older's back, "Feeling better?"
“Yeah, thank you.” Jin says with a sigh, relieved his muscles aren't aching anymore. “I wonder what else you can do with those hands, ey-”
Hoseok slaps him upside the head as he passes by, searching the hallway with furrowed brows. "Where'd they go?"
"Huh? they're gone?" the older hums, creeping up behind the other with wide eyes, rubbing behind his head with a barely contained pout. "Maybe they finally collapsed from hunger?"
Another slap upside the head. "They're fine."
Tumblr media
You were not fine.
You were cold and hungry and, quite frankly, lost. Nothing around you looked familiar, and you could barely see anything with how dark it was. Not only were you cold and hungry and lost, but you were also stupid, not knowing from which direction you came from. You squint at the dimly lit streets, lampposts flickering as you walked past.
This was, like most things, probably Jungkook's fault. But he was with kebabs and you were in the middle of nowhere, so there was not much you could do except curse at the skies.
The Seoul skies are dark and cold and there are never any stars to be seen, just pitch black, airplane lights tiny and bright flickering across it deceiving enough for you to think it's a star, and you watch with dull eyes as the light flickers until it disappears from sight.
You reminisce on the days back at Busan, tiny Jungkook and tiny you climbing onto the tree in the backyard to get to the roof, arms spread and back pressed uncomfortably to the tiles, the stars and the moon so close, as if you could touch them if you were to reach out. You'd sit there and talk about nothing and everything and sometimes you'd laugh and sometimes you'd cry and there was this one time you straight up fell off roof (you were fine, but he'll never let you live past that), and sometimes Jungkook would sing even past the occasional puberty cracks in his voice.
You sigh at the empty sky, figuring it's late enough to be considered dangerous and that you should at least attempt to find your way back to Hoseok and Seokjin's until a Definitely Not an Airplane flickers in your peripheral vision.
You squint, eyeing the little light in the sky as it flies across your vision. A gasp catches itself in your throat, small smile twitching up your features, the thought of seeing a shooting star for the first time in so long enough to have your heart beat faster. As you're about to close your eyes and make a wish (despite your consciousness telling you how lame it is), your brows furrow as the shooting star continues flying through the sky. Or rather, straight down, getting continuously bigger and brighter as it approaches.
Your eyes widen as the light slowly growing closer gains shape, not one of an airplane or a meteor or anything explanatory that could have fallen from the sky, but something you couldn't possibly identify, even as it grows closer and closer as the seconds tick by. You're left to watch, dumbfounded, as the unidentified flying object is only seconds away from hitting you, and in a split second decision you’re shielding your arms in front of you in a meek attempt to protect yourself, eyes shutting tightly. Oh god. You’re going to die.
When you manage to peel your eyes open again, a few ways away is a pod of some sort, floating only inches off the ground. A metal container, taller than the average person, spacious enough to fit the average person. And there was indeed a person- a person- inside of it, sitting in a suspiciously comfortable looking armchair, hands gripping the armrests and his eyes closed.
Let's set the scene: you're in a deserted one-way street, the flickering of the lampposts above only serving to creep you out even more, an unknown yet oddly handsome man that just fell from the sky only a few ways away, in the middle of the street.
The pod's door slides open.
You jump, eyes and brows comically wide and you would have laughed in any other situation. Against your own volition, you eye the man, nearly forgetting to think beyond breathing at his appearance. He's very much the picture of otherworldly you're starting to suspect he is, jaw sharp and hair still well maintained despite what it looks like it's been through (going through the atmosphere, you remind yourself). His clothes look to belong to someone of importance, despite the torn and dirty shape it's currently in, all perfectly cut and fitted garments and expensive looking fabrics.
You don't have time to think about much beyond that before the man's eyes snap open, flickering towards you almost immediately. Your breath hitches.
With a large yet shaky step, the man steps out with his hands gripping at the pod's walls for balance, not breaking eye contact for even a second, staring with half lidded eyes. He steps out. One foot, then the other. You can do nothing but stare, blinking rapidly to ensure this is all real, that Jin didn't finally snap and poison your food to have you hallucinate. He's about three large steps away from you before he speaks.
"Earthling!" he starts, pointing an accusing finger at you, and you're more than aware of how deep his voice is. "State your gender and sexual preference!"
"what."
You feel like you've made some sort of terrible mistake.
Tumblr media

I am STILL on my MonProm bullshit bc I’m grinding through Monster Camp so let’s do some more headcanons! This time it’s gonna be Jin’s opinions on the some of the more prominent characters from the two games, and what I think their relationships (platonic or otherwise) could be like. Obviously these are just my opinions, anyone who has any of these muses is free to disagree, ofc. I won’t include player characters (yet, maybe once Reverse comes out I will update) since the PC personality is kind of fluid to interpretation and change based on the player. There are spoilers for both Monster Prom and Monster Camp regarding main and side characters.
This is in alphabetical order just to make it easy to navigate.
Aaravi
He doesn’t trust her, straight up. She’s a monster slayer with a history of targeting demons and even with her therapy and growth in Monster Camp he’s wary. He’s worried she would turn on him and try to slay him too. He steers clear when possible but could learn to trust her if he could see her progress with monsterkind more directly.
Batniss
He really doesn’t know what she’s talking about most of the time. The main character thing is weird to him, but at least she’s interesting. He respects her combat skills and her archery prowess.
Calculester
He thinks Cal is cute, in the way someone thinks a puppy is cute. He’s just so clueless sometimes it’s endearing, like watching a baby giraffe take its first steps. On the other hand, though, something about this sentient computer robot is a bit uncanny. Since Cal is generally so nice, though, he tries not to let the whole “potential robot uprising/singularity” thing bother him.
Dahlia
He has absolutely no interest in being anywhere near Dahlia because of her reputation as a warmonger. He thinks she’s dangerous and doesn’t want to risk being the one who gives her the idea to try and invade the 2nd Circle. He absolutely doesn’t trust her, and is honestly a bit afraid of her. If he were able to give her a chance (ie probably forced to do school or camp things with her, or if they had mutual friends for some reason) he could grow to appreciate her determination and at times enjoy her exuberant personality. She has the capability to grow on him if given the chance.
Damien
Similar to Dahlia, he distrusts Damien. He knows of the LaVeys, and as mentioned in my big ol 2nd Circle/Cubi lore post sees their whole “we made love popular” reputation as a bit unearned (because I’m sorta canon divergent, but see that post for the details of that). He also doesn’t want anyone from the 8th Circle’s royal family to get anywhere near the 2nd Circle lest they try to take that over, too. He would also probably resent having to go to school or camp with a prince from Hell juuuust a bit, especially since Damien is considered one of the coolest/most well known students/campers. He would be envious of Damien’s wealth and status since that’s something he lacks, which colours Jin’s perception of him. He doesn’t know about Damien’s softer side, so he sees him as abrasive, dangerous, and annoying. Like Dahlia, if he were to give him a chance though he’d grow to like him, especially his fondness for hairstyling and makeup since Jin enjoys the latter (and being fashionable in general). He does, however, reluctantly admit that Damien is indeed hot even if he is an annoying LaVey baby.
Dmitri
Jin doesn’t really know Dmitri but he knows of him. He doesn’t really care about whatever the Coven is doing, but hey at least Dmitri is a hot vampire who never seems to wear a shirt. He doesn’t mind seeing him hanging around because he’s easy on the eyes. Jin would probably find his dramatic villain monologuing and cape swishing a bit funny.
Faith
Out of the Coven members he would probably like Faith the most. She seems pretty relaxed and chill, and he would respect her intelligence and skill as a witch. In general he appreciates the Coven’s colour scheme and fashion sense, though.
Hex
He thinks Hex is straight up irritating but if he was high then he’d probably like their company more.
Hope
His feelings towards Hope are similar to Faith. He isn’t all that bothered with their Coven shenanigans but does respect them. He would be confused by all of the Hope reincarnations but he doesn’t have much of a problem with her. She seems nice enough.
Interdimensional Prince
Although he can be kind of weird at times (maybe even a bit creepy) Jin has to admit the idea of being whisked off to another dimension by some handsome anime-alien-looking prince is kind of appealing. He would like the attention and ego-boost it would cause if the Prince ever flirted with him.
Joy
Jin would enjoy her company. They’d probably get along, but he does find her “main character saving the world” thing to be a bit Intense at times. Despite that he think’s she’s smart and cool and likes being around her, especially given how wild some of their classmates/campmates can be.
Kale
They smoke weed together and vibe. That’s all. 10/10.
Leonard
Jin wants to kick him in the face so hard that he flies into the sun. -10/10.
Liam
Usually he likes Liam and likes being around him. He appreciates his creativity and sense of taste, but sometimes Liam can be a bit pretentious and annoying. That’s fairly manageable though, and sometimes he’s quite the breath of fresh air compared to some of the more exuberant characters he encounters. Jin would especially enjoy indulging in fancy, rare artsy gourmet food so Liam could take pictures of it and he could eat it.
Milo
Out of everyone, Jin is fondest of Milo. Their sense of style, taste (wine and cheese platters? yes please), flirtatious streak (and not to mention good looks) would have Jin swooning. He would also find their personality a lot more calm in comparison to some of the other monsters at camp. The only annoyance would be Milo’s constant attachment to their phone and their somewhat self-centred nature. It takes attention away from Jin, after all. Competing egos.
Miranda
Jin likes Miranda most of the time. Sometimes he thinks her royal merfolk ways are a bit confusing, and he is a bit distrustful of foreign royalty in general but less so of Miranda; he doesn’t see any reason why the Merkingdom would attack the Cubi or really have much to do with them at all, but he knows that royal life can be vicious. He does find it interesting to hear about the culture and society of the Merkingdom, though. He also appreciates her manners and poise. Plus, they’re both pink so he’s a bit biased in that regard. Sometimes he does find the more murderous aspects of the Merkingdom a bit unsightly, and it can be a little frustrating at times trying to explain commoner things to her. He doesn’t like that he would sometimes feel a bit condescended or spoken down to by her, but sometimes this has more to do with his perception than anything she would be saying or doing.
Morty
He likes looking at Morty but his personality is a bit too self absorbed and intense even for Jin. Still, he appreciates the confidence and the sex positive energy. Sexual tension always makes rivalries better so Morty is a perfect candidate for Camp Rival Camp in Jin’s opinion and his presence is at least entertaining and engaging. Also he quite likes the heart-hole shorts, a bold fashion statement.
Polly
Polly is fun to be around. She can be boisterous, but at least she knows how to have a good time. Jin also likes that she isn’t bloodthirsty or a war criminal or something, so in theory they could just hang out like normal monsters/people. It doesn’t hurt that she can get good drugs, too.
Scott
Scott is a himbo, Jin likes himbos. Case closed. In all seriousness, he would find Scott endearing because of his good nature and cheerful personality. Sometimes his airheaded antics can be a bit annoying, but he knows Scott means well. Jin thinks Scott would be a good friend because he seems honest, loyal, and kind. Those are also qualities that would make him a good date, plus he’s a big cute wolfman who Jin wants to pet in more ways than one.
Valerie
He respects the hustle and the on campus hook-up for all sorts of oddities. Plus she’s Vera’s sister, and he has mostly positive feelings about her so by relation he thinks Valerie is pretty alright. Also soft because cat.
Vera
Vera is intimidating but he respects her, in a sense. As someone who isn’t affluent he’s more wary of her scams and often disapproves if he thinks it’s taking advantage of vulnerable people, but so long as she’s scamming rich people he’s down for it. He definitely thinks she’s smart and an interest conversationalist.
Wolfpack
Bad, stinky, 0/10. Only tolerable because of their connection to Scott but otherwise obnoxious.
Zoe
Last but not least, Jin would like Zoe. He’d appreciate her creativity and particularly her ship fics. They would have a good time talking about crushes, who should date who, and the latest books in their respective favourite series (or perhaps shared shows or books). She also tells Leonard to shove it and since he wants to punt the kappa into the sun he likes that a lot.

March 15th
Master List
**Before you read this, I gotta say, this is my favorite story I wrote this year, it was so much fun to write and I really hope you like it!**
“Incoming mail ship.” Wonpil’s head shot up so fast, he smacked it on the duct he was repairing. “Ship docking in port 14. Let’s remain calm this time folks, the captain doesn’t want any more incident reports before we get home.” At the sound of his friend’s voice over the intercom, Wonpil, let go of the screwdriver he was holding, letting it float next to the open duct cover.
“Chan, I’m expecting a package, and it’s super important.”
“From your wife, right?” The younger man inquired, kicking off from the wall to propel himself towards his superior. Wonpil can’t help the grin on his face.
“Yeah, I got a transmission from her a month ago saying she sent me something, so I’m expecting it soon.” Both men grinned at this. “So I’ve gotten the last of the wiring soldered, but I need you to recoat it, troubleshoot and run a final diagnostics, and if I’m not back by the time that’s done, put the panel back in place and send me the reports.” Chan salutes, a cheesy grin on his face.
“Yes sir, take your time boss.” Wonpil nods, moving to the closed door at the end of the hall.
“Sector 113, gravity activated.” Both boys boots thump onto the floor, followed by the clank of multiple tools. Wonpil leaves the corridor quickly, turning the gravity back off and gives Chan one more salute before making his way to the ports.
The I.S.S Moonrise was the first ship of its kind, a high tech, orbital colony floating in the vastness of space, just past the edge of the Milky Way, a months journey from most of the inhabitant’s home planet of Earth. Wonpil was one of the lucky ones, only on the station for 18 months, 20, if you include the 2 months of travel to get there and back. As the current head of engineering, he got a lot more free reign of the station than most of its inhabitants, which were a mix of scientists, farmers, and historians.
“Paging Kim Wonpil, where are you Pil?” The voice over his comms made him roll his eyes.
“Why are you using the comms to annoy me, Jae?”
“First of all, it’s hyung.”
“No one’s used that term in almost 50 years, give it a rest.”
“Then it’s lieutenant.” The man whined.
“Then you should be calling me Chief Engineer,” Wonpil retorted, opening the hangar doors.
“Whatever, look Jihyo won't let me grab your package for you.” Wonpil felt like vibrating as he made his way to the group surrounding the mailing ship.
“No need, I’m right here.” The crowd opens for him to walk through, most either recognizing Wonpil, or the silver stripes on his uniform. He’s shocked to find Jihyo holding a package, as captain of the Hermes, she usually remained in the cockpit while Chaeyoung and Tsuyu handled the mail.
“I could have delivered it to him, Jihyo.” Jae whines, flipping through the letters he’d received, no doubt from his parents and sister.
“No can do, Y/n made me promise this box would go from my hand to his.” She punctuated her sentence by placing the small box in Wonpil’s outstretched hand.
“She came in person then?” Jihyo nodded, grinning as he signed for the mail.
“And she also wanted me to give you this.” She leaned forward, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek, making his face flush red.
“Aish,” He huffed, hiding his burning face behind his hands as those around them laughed.
“Come on kid, the Captain asked us to join him for lunch.” Jae slung his arm over Wonpil’s shoulder, though the smaller man simply knocked it away from him, turning back to Jihyo.
“I’m actually sending something today,” He told her, pulling a small box from his pocket. “Make sure she gets it okay?”
“No problem.” Jihyo nodded, “Want me to give her a kiss for you?” Wonpil couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled up.
“No, we’ll save those for when I get home.”
“See you in two months, Wonpil.”
“See you then, Ji.” He saluted the woman, before finally letting Jae lead him to Sungjin’s office. Wonpil decided to open the package during lunch, knowing full well that Brian and Dowoon would want to know what you had sent him.
“Good afternoon Lieutenant Park, Chief Kim.” The robotic voice greeted as the two entered the spacious room Sungjin and the other two boys were sitting in.
“Nothing is as beautiful as a sunset on Earth, the west coast of America has the best views,” Brian told the youngest boy, who shook his head.
“No chance, Olympian sunsets are better,” Dowoon argued. Brian turned to his best friend and eternal roommate.
“Jae, which is better, West Coast Sunsets or Olympian sunsets?” Jae shrugged, dropping into his seat next to him.
“Never been to Olympia, so I say West Coast.”
“What about you, Jin?” The Captain paused mid-bite, to sigh.
“I didn’t want to be brought into this argument. You argue Earth vs Mars every week.” He grumbled.
“Then I will end the argument.” Wonpil decided, setting the box on the table. The boys gasped, Dowoon bouncing in his chair.
“Is that from Y/n?” He asks, earning a nod from Wonpil. “Open it then,” Sungjin ordered, setting down his burger. Wonpil complied happily, and the contents made his heart clench. Resting in the box was a very small pair of shoes, knitted yellow booties, and a small SD card in a plastic case.
“Oh, she was so little.” Jae cooed, picking up the tiny shoes.
“They must be the shoes she came home in.” Wonpil realized, “She’s almost a year old.” He sighs, picking up the SD card. “Do you mind, Captain?” He asks, and Sungjin nods, tapping the table to expose the port.
“Go ahead, I want to see the little one.” He grins. Wonpil inserts the card, and a second later a hologram of his wife, sitting on a bed with a very small child on her lap appears above the table.
“Oh look at her,” Brian coos. “She’s getting so big.” Wonpil can’t help his smile as he rests his arm on the table, his head following.
“Hi, babe, and hello boys.” The recording begins. “Since I know the Captain will ask you to play this for him.” She grins, glancing down at the baby on her lap. “Will you say hello to Daddy and your Uncles?” She asks, earning a few baby sounds and a laugh from her daughter. She looks back up, smiling at the camera. “Hyebin says hi.” She giggles. “By the time you get this video, we’ll be celebrating her first birthday. My mom insists on getting her a smash cake.” Wonpil lets out a small laugh, remembering the mess that ensued from his oldest daughter’s first birthday. “And your parents are coming over to celebrate too, they know how much we all miss you.”
“Is that Daddy?” Another small voice fills the speakers and you look away from the camera, shaking your head.
“No baby, we’ll call him tomorrow, I’m filming a message for him though, would you like to say hello to him?” A second later, the tiny face of his oldest daughter filled the entire screen, making the boys laugh. “Too close Hyerin, everyone’s gonna be able to see up your nose.” The boys laugh again as the little girl lets out a tiny squeak and darts over to her mother’s legs.
“Hi, Daddy!” She waves. “I miss you! And uncle Dowoon. Mom says I have to be at least 10 before I can go with you to space.” She pouts the last few words.
“Why don’t you tell Daddy what you want to be when you grow up?”
“I wanna be a pilot! My teacher let us play on the simulator at school and I kept the plane up the longest.” You giggled at your daughter's excitement.
“I told her she had to wait until Sungjin was home for a week before she was allowed to go bother him.” You shifted, bringing Hyebin up to rest on your shoulder. “Rin, do you remember how old Bin is?”
“She’ll be a year old on the 19th next month.” Rin nodded, climbing onto the bed next to her mother.
“And how old will she be when daddy gets home?”
“16 months.”
“So how many months till Daddy gets home?” Rin pauses, counting on her fingers.
“Five!” She finally exclaims, looking to her mom for confirmation.
“Exactly.” You nod, patting Hyebin’s back as she begins to fuss. “Rin, can you do Mommy a favor and go get Binnie’s pacifier out of her bed?”
“The elephant, right.”
“That’s right, thank you, baby.” You watch for a moment as the little girl runs out of the room. “Oh, and I forgot to tell you, Lilo had her puppies, most of them have been adopted, but I’m letting Rin keep one so she has her own pet.” You smile, “And don’t worry Dowoon, we saved you a puppy as well, she’s staying with us until you get home.” Dowoon cheers, making the boys laugh. “I’ll be going back to work soon, turns out the mission to the probe is ahead of schedule, they want me there when the repairs begin, oh and babe, the shoes in the box, they’re the shoes Bin was brought home in, my grandmother made them, I thought you might like something from home for your desk, just don’t forget to bring them home with you, or my mom might fly out there and mug Brian for them.” Brian huffs, setting the yellow boots on the table. Rin comes back into the room, hands her mother the pacifier, and climbs back onto the bed. “Do you want to say anything else to daddy?”
“I miss you! And don’t feel bad that you won’t be here on my birthday. Mommy said you’ll be closer to me then than ever before, and that we’ll be able to see you from the control room.” Her grin falls into an exaggerated glare. “But don’t be late coming home, and don’t get hurt okay?” She points a stern finger at the camera.
“Do you want to say bye?” You prompt.
“Bye-bye Daddy, I’ll see you soon.” She waves, a grin that makes her look like Wonpil on her face.
“Bye babe, I love you. Stay safe okay?” You pick up Bin’s tiny hand, waving it to the camera. “Say bye to Daddy Binnie.” You let go of her hand, blowing a kiss to the camera. “Come home soon.” With a final set of waves from you and Rin, the recording ends.
Wonpil’s face is wet, he knows he’s crying, and he isn’t even ashamed of it as he hides his face in the crook of his arm.
“I know why Wonpil’s crying, why am I crying?” Dowoon mutters. “Why are you crying?” Wonpil looks up to find the youngest man pointing to Brian, who is wiping his eyes on the cuff of his sleeve.
“Rin’s gotten so big.” He mutters, earning chuckles from the boys.
“How do you think I feel?” Wonpil asks, wiping his own eyes. “She’s gonna be seven the day I leave.”
“I can’t wait to get back to Earth.” Jae sighs, “I miss my friends.”
“I miss New York Pizza.” Sungjin sighs and all the boys groan in agreement.
“Here’s a deal, when we get home, let’s go out for pizza, bring your families or whatever, we can go to Escape From New York.” Wonpil offers. “Maybe not the first night home, Y/n might kill me if I try leaving the house.” There’s another chorus of laughs. “Oh man, three months till we leave.” Sungjin sighs. “I don’t know if I’m ready.”
“Not ready to give up command yet?” Brian jokes. Sungjin shakes his head.
“It’s not that, it’s…” He trails off, unsure of what to say.
“Here, everything we do means something incredible.” Dowoon begins, and the botanist looks away from the older boys, shy as ever. “Grow a plant and its next-gen Astro-terraforming, find a microbe in some nebula get to watch a species be born. Every message sent out to the probes, the colonies, it’s all integral to GASEX and the future of human and Xeno interactions. Back home, Mars, Earth, wherever the hell Jae is from.”
“Literally just the lunar colony.”
“Back home, yeah we’re respected, but the things we do, they aren’t breakthroughs, it’s just humans doing human things.” Dowoon finishes.
“Unless you’re Wonpil, then you go from repairing a spaceship to building them.” Jae jokes, lightening the mood. Wonpil feels his face heat up as he removes the SD card from the table port.
“Not for too long.” He confesses. “I’ve worked out a schedule, 11 months on, 11 home until the girls are old enough to join me here.” He tells them, earning cheers. “What about you, coming back anytime soon?”
“I will be. Come January I’m back on the Artemis.” Sungjin tosses a fry in his mouth. “And then I’m really Captain Sungjin again.”
“I’ll be on Earth for a few weeks before heading back to Mars.” Dowoon begins, stealing one of Sungjin’s fries. “I think I’ll be back here in 13 Earth months.” He shrugs.
“Well Jae and I aren’t leaving Earth anytime soon. Not till the coming March, I’m lecturing at Incheon BioCenter for a while and he’s gonna be teaching some languages over at The Seoul Communications Institute.” Brian gestures to Jae who grins, flashing a peace sign.
“So that puts us all back here, coming March?” Sungjin asks.
“Following January. I’ll be the last one back.” Wonpil informs him.
“So three months, technically four, and then we can avoid each other until then.” Brian jokes. “Here’s to avoiding you all until ‘56 then.”
The cabin is filled with the clinking of their glasses and for a moment, everything is normal.
Three months pass quickly, and soon finds Wonpil leaving the ship in the capable hands of Chirs Bang, Im Jaebeom becoming the temporary captain of the Moonrise and Jae successfully shutting up long enough to make his kissing the girl he’d been crushing on goodbye, something out of a romance novel. Wonpil watched his box of belongings, everything he’d collected from different planets and trade ships, being loaded onto the small ship that would carry him home with a heavy heart. This was one of those moments of belonging two places and having to choose between them.
And then they were setting off, Sungjin expertly piloting them back to the Milky Way, Jae standing as communications, and Jinyoung as navigation. The month passed in the blink of an eye, between rousing card games, basic repairs, and quiet conversations about home, and soon, they were whizzing past Mars, with Dowoon’s face glued to the porthole.
“This is the S.S. Artemis, we’re just outside Earth’s Atmo, ETA 6 minutes.” Jae’s professional voice barely masked his glee as he watched the sun peek over the planet’s edge.
“Welcome back to the Milky Way, Artemis. How do we look, Lieutenant Park?”
“Blue, and beautiful.” Jae breathed. “Feels good to be home.”
“Let’s get through atmo first.” Jinyoung chided. “Then we can celebrate.”
“Right, ladies and gentlemen, begin reentry preparation.” Sungjin’s command echoed through the small craft’s intercom. “We land in Seoul Spaceport in 6 minutes, let’s not be late.”
The first person off the ship was Sungjin, who earned a round of applause as he paused at the top of the exit stairs. He was followed quickly by Jae, who flung himself onto the nearest tree, hugging it like a lost lover. Wonpil was among the last to set foot on dry land, and he had the strongest urge to just lay in a flowerbed for a few hours. Instead, he dropped his sunglasses over his eyes and shouldered his bag, following the other engineers towards the flashing cameras.
“I see them!” The shrill voice of his daughter made Wonpil break into a grin, dropping to his knees and opening his arms for a hug. He watched his daughter fly past him, directly into Dowoon, and before he could react he found himself flat on his ass, a furry body pressed into his chest.
“Hello Lilo, how’s my girl been?’ He greeted the border collie, accepting the kisses she was planting on his chin. “Oh yes, I missed you too.” Finally dislodging the dog, he turned, finding Hyerin chattering excitedly to Dowoon while Brian laughed at him from a distance. Standing he snuck up to the girl, picking her up unexpectedly, making her shriek and giggle. “What do you think you’re doing?” He asked, spinning her around. “Daddy!” She cried, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing his cheek. “I didn’t see you.”
“Did you really, or did you get distracted by Dr. Yoon?” Your voice made Wonpil turn quickly, grin expanding so much it hurt. There you were, after 20 long months, hair pulled mostly away from your face, sunglasses perched on the crown of your head, and his baby sleeping on your chest.
“Please, Y/n, just call me Dowoon, you make it so formal,” Dowoon whined, but Wonpil wasn’t really listening. He surged forward, still holding Rin, free hand coming up to your face to pull you in for a long-awaited kiss.
“I have seen the cosmos, more nebulas than I can count, and the birth of hundreds of stars, and nothing, nothing compares to seeing you again.” He whispered, pressing his forehead to yours.
“Except maybe Pizza,” Jae whispered, leaning on your shoulder. The group began laughing, and you gave Wonpil one more kiss before turning to the other boys.
“Welcome home boys.” You grinned, giving each one a hug and introducing them to Hyebin who had just woken up. Rin remained firmly attached to Dowoon’s leg once let on the ground and Wonpil couldn’t even be upset, especially once his arms were quickly filled with Hyebin.
“Hello, little one.” He grinned, watching the way her eyes grew big as he spoke. “My little Binnie, you have a whole galaxy in your eyes, and the universe at your fingertips.” He cooed and the little girl giggled, her chubby fingers going to grab his cheek.
“And lucky for us, we have stardust in our veins.” You piped in, arm coming to wrap around your husband’s side as you all walked to your car.
“For now, let’s just keep our boots on solid ground, sound good?” He asked, and you looked up at him, shooting him a wink and the kind of smile that made him fall for you in the first place.
“Galactic.”

Random Writing Tidbit Oops…
… Well. This is a little. Dark.
Sorry. ^^; I’m apparently in a rather dark mood.
I actually plan to continue this a little more to see where it goes… But this is like a first section.
Please Note: This contains robot body horror. It’s… A little graphically described. It is a robot, but what happens is still a bit… Intense.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
HumaGear did not have nightmares. They did not experience dreams in that way, no visions during sleep mode. They were simply active and aware, or they were not. Jin didn’t have the luxury of blaming the sight before him on some sort of vague, ghostly terror.
Zero-One’s sword was buried in his father’s head.
He couldn’t see Horobi’s face, but the blade had sunk all the way to the nape of his father’s neck, leaving torn, sparking mechanics in its wake; his head wrap clung to the sides of his head for a moment of horrid calm—then each piece fell away, drifting to the ground. He wanted to say something, to call Horobi’s name, but couldn’t make his voice work, found it sticking in his throat. As he watched, frozen in horror, blue liquid began to slowly trickle down from the wound, dripping down to disappear into Horobi’s collar. For far too long a moment, his father stayed standing, his body locking up, going stiff and rigid—then, there was a horribly familiar whirring sound, and Horobi dropped to his knees.
Zero-One just stood there as well, breath heaving so forcefully his shoulders were shaking. Eventually, he weakly tried to free the weapon from Horobi’s head, but the sword was wedged too deeply, tangled in wires and broken components. All he succeeded in doing was jerking Horobi’s body around a bit until it was unbalanced and flopped to the ground.
That was too much.
Jin sprang into motion, surging forward to plant both hands on the human’s chest, shoving him away hard, with enough strength that Zero-One released the sword, before spinning around to rush to his father’s side. One of Horobi’s eyes was completely destroyed, along with the whole left side of his face, but the other one was still wide open in shock and confusion. From the front, the blade had stopped just above his chin, pulling his mouth into an unnatural shape and slicing through part of his nose; blue was also dripping from the corner of his mouth that had been… Disconnected from the rest of his lips. The lights on the sides of his head were dark.
There was no other way to say it but that his father’s head was… Split open. The components inside were clearly visible, cut clean through until the bottom, which was a twisted mess of metal mechanics and fibre glass that had pinched around the blade and lodged it in. Jin didn’t want to touch the wound, not like this—but he also refused to leave the sword there. Very gingerly, he reached out and took hold of the weapon as delicately as he could, pulling on it. It didn’t move at all, remaining solidly lodged.
“J… Jin…” The voice was hardly identifiable as Zero-One’s, shaky and unsure. Jin didn’t  even bother looking at him, instead staying focused on the task in front of him, even as he heard the human scrambling closer. “I… I can-” A silver-coloured hand appeared in his vision, reaching for the sword
Jin batted it away, throwing out an arm to push Zero-One back once again. “Don’t touch him!” His voice came back all at once in a furious snarl as he rounded on the human, “You did this!”
Zero-One didn’t bother trying to deny it, gaze shooting to the ground. Satisfied that the human wouldn’t try to interfere again, Jin spun back around. Reinvigorated by his anger, he laid better hold of the sword and pulled again, trying to be more forceful but still careful at the same time. Even then, it took a moment, and he had to… He had to… Jimmy it a bit, but finally, the cursed thing came free, and he tossed it aside without bothering to see where it fell. Leaning back in, he cautiously reached out with both hands to gently cup his father’s broken head in his hands, and hesitantly tried to press the two… Halves of Horobi’s head back together.
But even when he managed to aligned everything as perfectly as possible… It wasn’t his father’s face. It was hardly even a face.
“Horobi…?” His voice was beginning to tremble, clutching tighter. “Horobi?!” There was no reaction whatsoever. Aimlessly, he stroked his father’s intact cheek with his thumb, his mind going blank with panic. “Horobi…!” His hands began to shake. “No… No no no no no no no…” A small sob broke from him, a gloved hand shifting to stroke what was left of Horobi’s hair. “No… No.” Shaking his head, he gently rearranged to scoop his father into his arms, carefully setting Horobi’s head against his shoulder so that it didn’t… Didn’t… “It’s okay. I can… I can fix you.” He leaned his helmeted forehead against his father’s fractured one. “I’m going to fix you. We’re going to fix you.”
“Jin!”
“Get away from us!” He threw the shout over his other shoulder, holding Horobi closer. The human jerked backwards, staring at him.
Without wasting another second, Jin shifted his arms to lift his father up properly, while still cradling his head. Activating his wings, he kicked off the ground and took off, soaring away as Zero-One shouted after him. Clutching Horobi as tightly to his side as he dared to try and protect him from the wind, he changed course slightly and headed for home.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well. Here’s to lasting trauma.
To be honest, this can’t have been fun for Aruto, either.

It’ll just be a single, fun night, right?
Word Count: ~10.8k A/N: Written for my best friend @i-live-so-i-love – who has forced me to see beyond the surface more than once.
Tumblr media
“Happy birthday, baby. Please don’t be mad when you see your gift.”
Namjoon laughed a little, wrapping his arms around Halsey when she hugged him as he walked in the door. He pressed a kiss to her cheek. “Thank you? But I’m a little concerned now that that is what you opened with.”
Halsey smiled sheepishly, looking up at Namjoon with a gentle gaze.
“What’s up?” Namjoon asked.
“Well, I—” She sighed and took his hand, leading him to the couch. They sat and she faced him, seemingly bracing herself for something. “I heard you and Jimin talking last month.”
“About?”
“About your urges.”
“Oh, Hal—” Namjoon started. Halsey held up her hand.
“Please, lemme finish… Look, I know you told him you didn’t want me to know, and I’m sorry I eavesdropped… But I want you to know that I wouldn’t have been mad if you’d told me. I get why you didn’t want to – I know plenty of girlfriends would be pissed if they heard that from the man they’d been dating for the better half of a decade… But you know me, Joonie. You know I love you for you. Quirks and urges included.”
Namjoon smiled softly, lowering his gaze. “I felt so bad thinking about it… Like I was betraying you.”
“I heard what Jimin suggested to. The android service.”
“But that’s worse. That’s another person.”
“Well, yeah. But it’s a person that was literally made to please. So not exactly… But I get why you turned him down. But I talked to him after.”
Namjoon’s head snapped up, his eyes widening a little. “You did?”
Halsey nodded. “I did. And I got the number. And I—”
“Halsey… You didn’t.”
“He’s coming over soon. I can still cancel the appointment but… I figured you wouldn’t have to feel so guilty if I was here too. And if we could enjoy him together… It wouldn’t feel like cheating right? Because I’m happy and giving you permission.”
Namjoon’s shoulders slumped. “You’re too kind to me. Most girls hear their boyfriend wants to get fucked by a man and they’d run for the hills.”
“I knew you were bisexual when we started dating, Namjoon. And I knew that you hadn’t experimented much. I also know how crazy you go when I...” She smirked. “Use my toy on you. I can only imagine how sexy you’ll look when it’s not just a piece of nicely modeled plastic… But an actual dick.”
Namjoon’s cheeks mottled red immediately and he laughed nervously. “I’m so amazed… You really ordered one?”
“Just for a few hours. But yeah.”
“When is he coming?”
Halsey glanced at the clock. “About fifteen minutes.” She rose, grabbing his hands and tugging him. “The perfect amount of time for me to get you hard and begging for it.”
Namjoon let her lead him into the bedroom, his head spinning with possibilities. He’d shared some wishes about experimentation with her and with Jimin in the past, but never assumed he’d get a chance to act on those fantasies. He loved Halsey and was totally satisfied with her in every way; they had always just been vague fantasies of a horny twenty something.
Even as they laid in bed that evening, sharing deep kisses, her hands wandering down to his slacks, tugging insistently until he helped her remove them, the reality hadn’t quite hit him.
It wasn’t until she was nude from the waist up, his fingers were buried in her hair, her plush lips wrapped around his cock, when the doorbell played a chipper little tune, that it fully sank in. The camera connected to the front door and linked to their video screen blinked before showing the image of the person at the door. Namjoon could tell he was tall and broad shouldered, hair dark and hanging over his eyes. He wore a black mask, shielding his face from the camera – and the smog, not that it would really too negatively affect his breathing. He had on a hoodie as well, the hood pulled up to hide any other really defining features. Regardless, he took Namjoon’s breath away.
Halsey popped off his cock with an obscene noise and wiped her bottom lip. “Stay put… I’ll bring him in.”
Namjoon nodded, barely able to tear his eyes away from the screen. Halsey pulled on one of Namjoon’s shirts, buttoning it to hide her breasts. Namjoon saw the door open a few seconds later and the man at the door bowed low in greeting. He could hear the two speaking, muffled, from the bedroom, and resisted the urge to get up and check. He had said he would stay put. The stranger nodded and bowed once more, entering. The door closed, and the video shut off. When it did, Namjoon’s heart kicked into overdrive. In a sudden panic, he sat up, yanking a pair of boxers on to hide his nakedness. The bedroom door opened and Halsey entered, looking just as beautiful as when she’d walked out. She was followed by the tall stranger. He shoved his hood off and bowed low to Namjoon. As he straightened, he pulled his mask off, pocketing it.
“Good evening, Sir. My name is Seokjin.”
Namjoon’s mouth dropped open of its own accord. Though he knew the man would be handsome, he was nothing like Namjoon had expected. His features were sharp and perfect. Plush, pink lips that would make a model envious, a broad nose and dark, piercing eyes, neatly shaped ears with delicate studs in each lobe. He had a hint of eyeliner, bringing out the brightness of his brown gaze. His jaw was firm and solid, drawing the gaze naturally down to his prominent Adams apple and the peek of smooth skin from the vee in his hoodie. His shoulders were ridiculously broad, a striking contrast to his slender waist, visible even under the hoodie. His jeans were tight and black, ripped in the perfect places to show just a tease of his perfect skin.
“Joon?” Halsey worried.
“I—I’m—Hi.” Namjoon stumbled over his words, unsure how to address the stranger – Seokjin. He smiled regardless.
“Hi. Everyone calls me Jin… What do you want me to call you?”
“N—Namjoon is fine. Or Joon, I—” Namjoon swallowed hard. Halsey set her hand on Jin’s broad shoulder.
“We’ve never done this before. He’s nervous. You’re his birthday present.”
Jin smiled brightly, and Namjoon’s stomach did a little flip.
“I’m honored. Happy birthday,” Jin circled the bed and sat down on the edge of it. Namjoon worried his heart was going to outright stop if Jin got any closer – each inch nearer he was more and more beautiful. “Do you want me to suck your cock?”
Namjoon spluttered, his cheeks burning hot. Halsey giggled and hurried over, crawling behind Jin and wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
“He’s a little shy,” she whispered to Jin, who smiled sheepishly and sank into himself a bit.
“I’m sorry. I’ve got a lot of experience, I can do almost anything you ask for. I don’t mean to overwhelm you.”
“You’re—You’re fine,” Namjoon mumbled. He knew he shouldn’t be so shy; this man was literally made to please him and not judge him. But now that he was faced with it, he didn’t know how to act.
“Jin,” Halsey said. She stroked her fingers through his black hair, and a small smile crossed his face. “How about you and me see if we can get him hard. He was positively ready to burst when you arrived. I bet it wouldn’t take him long to get hot and bothered again.”
Jin nodded. “Do you want my clothes off?”
“Keep your jeans. Everything else off,” Namjoon said, surprising himself.
Halsey smirked. “How about me, Joon? What do I wear?”
“Exactly what you’re wearing… You know I like you in my shirts,” Namjoon said. Halsey moved up, pressing a kiss to his mouth as Jin stripped. Namjoon watched him even as he kissed Halsey, his hands wandering over her bare hips.
His chest was just as perfectly formed as the rest of him, firm abs too perfect to be real, a line of muscle forming a perfect V and disappearing into his tight jeans, his biceps and shoulders just as muscular as they looked in his hoodie. Jin crawled onto the bed, his gaze hooded as he watched the two kiss.
When Halsey backed up, she smiled over at him. “Do you want to kiss him?”
Jin nodded, looking to Namjoon for permission. Namjoon swallowed hard and nodded, wetting his lips.
The first touch was surprisingly timid, as if Jin was unsure of what to do. Namjoon let his tongue slide out, swiping over Jin’s bottom lip. The simple action seemed to light a fire in Jin, and he pressed his lips more firmly against Namjoon’s, one big hand coming up to rest on his jaw.
Namjoon gasped into his mouth when Halsey tugged his boxers down, pressing teasing kisses over his slowly thickening cock. He slid his hand down Jin’s chest, feeling the firm muscle and the steady thump of his heart. It was faster than expected, and Namjoon’s curiosity was instantly piqued. He pulled back, smiling a little when Jin chased his mouth for a moment.
“Your heart. What software did they use to make the beats?”
Halsey sighed, chuckling. “Joonie, please—Turn off the brain.”
Jin raised an eyebrow and Namjoon smiled sheepishly. “I’m sorry. I’m a… Researcher of sorts.”
“Do you work for an AI company?” Jin asked.
“Not exactly. I do work a research company but – I focus on the emotional and mental well-being of android lives. How they adjust to changes and what motivates them.”
Jin cocked his head. “So you’re a therapist for… androids.”
“Sort of, I guess. You could say that.”
“I’ve never heard of that.”
“Really? In your profession, you’d think there’d be a lot of us. It’s such a demanding life.”
Jin smiled a little, confusion written on his features. “It’s what I was made to do. I guess I’ve never given it much thought… How demanding it could be. To answer your question, it’s not a virtual heart rhythm. My developer thought that the feel of a real heart would be better for my line of work, so they fitted me with a robotic heart. It speeds up and slows the same as yours in response to stimuli. That’s why you probably felt it moving quicker… I… I really liked you kissing me.”
“Yeah?” Namjoon wet his lips. He looked down at Halsey, who was smiling softly. She pressed a kiss to Namjoon’s thigh, a promise that this was alright.
Namjoon cupped Jin’s face in his hands. “Well let’s get your heart racing again then.” He closed the gap between their mouths once more, letting his tongue slip into Jin’s warm mouth.
Halsey sank down onto his cock, letting it stiffen against her tongue.
Jin grabbed Namjoon’s hand, sliding it down his chest to his crotch, where his own cock was hardening in his jeans. Namjoon moaned low in his throat, stroking the length of it through the denim.
“Come suck him with me,” Halsey whispered. Jin obeyed, moving down and pressing kisses along Namjoon’s chest as he did. He nuzzled Namjoon’s cock, pressing a soft kiss to Halsey’s mouth before wrapping his lips around the tip and giving a firm suck that had Namjoon’s toes curling against the mattress. The two took turns, bobbing their heads along his cock or sharing sloppy kisses with his cock between their mouths, lapping and nudging his balls while the other worked on his tip.
Namjoon was writhing within ten minutes, running his fingers through their hair and panting their names. Halsey pulled off with a pop, kissing Jin’s mouth again. “I think he’s ready for more, don’t you?”
Jin nodded once, then looked up at Namjoon. He swallowed hard and nodded. “More,” he whispered.
“What do you want from us, baby?”
“I—I don’t know,” he admitted.
Halsey moved up his body slowly, kissing along the curve of his throat and jaw. “Do you want to fuck him? Or feel how nice and tight his around your cock? Do you want him to use me? Both of you to use me?”
Namjoon made a noise halfway between a plea and a groan. “Yes to everything, Christ…” He kissed her desperately, reaching down to feel for Jin. Jin grabbed his hand and Namjoon tugged, signaling him to come up as well. He shifted from Halsey’s mouth to Jin’s, kissing him deeply as well.
He pulled back, stroking Jin’s cheek. “Make her feel good with me.”
Jin nodded.
“Me?” Halsey argued when Namjoon and Jin pounced, wrestling her onto her back. Namjoon stripped her panties down her legs, tossing them aside. “It’s your birthday.” She tried again.
“You’re right. And you know how much I love making you come on my tongue. Since we have a friend to help, you can come for both of us.”
He pushed her legs open, running his thumb over her damp opening. She shuddered, hiding her grin by biting her lip.
“Want to taste?” Namjoon asked. He brushed his wet thumb over Jin’s bottom lip. Jin chased it with his tongue, his eyes fluttering shut.
“Go on,” Namjoon whispered. Jin didn’t need a second command. He settled between her legs, pointing his tongue and running it between her folds.
Namjoon wiggled next to him, and Jin shifted so he was nearly half on top of Namjoon. The to shared wet kisses between taking turns, driving their tongues into Halsey or sucking gently - and not so gently - on her swollen clit. She didn’t bother to hide her moans, shouting their names as they dragged her to the brink of climax over and over, onto to stop at the last second.
She tugged Namjoon’s hair, whining. “Let me come,” she complained, squeezing her thighs around their shoulders as well as she could. Namjoon leaned forward and flicked his tongue over her clit, huffing a laugh when she whined.
“Think we should?” He asked Jin, who smirked.
“Well, we could. Or you could fuck her until she can’t come anymore while I fuck you. Alternatively,” he brushed his finger over Halsey’s ass as he spoke. “Two places fo drive her crazy... Then when she’s worn out I can fuck you until you can’t squeeze another drop of come out.”
Namjoon’s breathing i creased at Jin’s words. He glanced up at Halsey, his heart swelling. Her pastel rainbow hair was splayed on their dark pillow case, cheeks a rosy pink and lips swollen from biting. Her nipples peaked the thin fabric of his shirt, breasts shaking as she drew in breaths.
“We’ll both fuck you, baby. As much as this is my present... I know your secret fantasies too. You’ve wanted to know what it feels like for years haven’t you? Why you love me fucking you with a plug in.”
Halsey swallowed hard and nodded. “I want you in my ass, Namjoon.”
Namjoon nodded.
“Namjoon?” Jin asked.
Namjoon looked over, a little surprised at the soft expression on Jin’s face.
“Have you ever been fucked before?”
“Only with toys. Halsey has a strap she uses and some dildos...”
“He’s bigger than those. That was my one request when I called his agency,” Halsey said.
“Do you mind if I start getting you ready while you get her ready?”
“We have some toys if you want.” Halsey pointed to the nearby dresser. “Bottom drawer. We need the lube there anyway.”
Jin nodded and rose. Namjoon reached out, catching his wrist.
“Show me your cock?”
Jin nodded. He undid his jeans and pushed them down, stepping out of them. Namjoon made a small noise, his stomach clenching in excitement. Jin was thick and long, curving just a little. He was going to be wrecked. But not before...
“He’s gonna stretch you all out, baby girl,” Namjoon whispered, driving two fingers deep I to her. Halsey whined.
“I know. I want him to. Especially with you stretching me too... Dream come true.”
Namjoon smirked. Halsey pushed his head.
“Get me ready... It’s been a while since you fucked my ass, I’m tight.”
Namjoon nodded. He settled back between her thighs and tilted her hips up, beginning to lick and nibble at her fluttering ass. He felt Jin crawl behind him and tried to ignore the way his heart raced at the soft ghost of breath over his bare ass, or the firm prod of Jin’s fingers against his mostly untouched hole. He focused on Halsey; the way she scratched at his scalp and her soft moans, the sweet taste of her skin and smell of her soap, the dribble of arousal slipping from her opening when she tensed.
But even that couldn’t distract completely from Jin’s talented fingers and tongue, opening him up, stretching him and prepping him for his first real cock. There was no pain, even when Jin began to press one of their larger plugs into him and thrust it.
“Wear this while we fuck her,” Jin mumbled after a while. He settled it inside Namjoon, gently squeezing his ass around it. Namjoon nodded.
“How is she?”
“Ready,” Namjoon said. He rolled off next to Halsey and pressed a kiss to her mouth. “Whenever you’re ready.”
“One question,” Jin said, gently stroking himself. “Do you want me come inside of you? I’m infertile, but I know some people...”
“I want it in me.” Halsey spoke with no hesitation, then looked over at Namjoon. “And I want you to eat it out of me while he’s pounding your asshole. Deal?”
Namjoon shivered. “Deal.”
Halsey sat up, letting Jin add more lube to her hole. She set her hands on his shoulders, facing him and away from Namjoon. Gently, with both of their guidance, she settled her ass onto Namjoon’s cock.
He huffed, struggling to stay still as her right, hot channel took him deeper. When she was fully seated on his lap, he shifted into a half sitting position and pulled her back. He undid the buttons on her shirt, baring her breasts to Jin.
Jin smiled and reached out, cupping them gently before rolling her nipples gently in between his thumbs and forefingers.
“Wait,” Namjoon panted when Jin readied himself between their legs. “Come up here... I wanna taste your cock.”
Confusion crossed Jin’s expression for a moment, and Namjoon wondered if he’d never been asked that before. He obeyed though, and the two went to work, licking and sucking his cock and balls. Jin jerked, smacking the wall above the headboard and crying out. He sounded just as beautiful as he looked, especially when his head fell back and he buried his long fingers in their hair. Namjoon couldn’t wait to hear him make those happy noises buried deep inside him.
When his cock was wet with their spit and dripping with precome, Namjoon kissed his tip.
“Fuck her. Make us both come, Jin... Make her scream for you.”
Jin shivered visibly at Namjoon’s words. Halsey spread her legs wider, whimpering when it caused Namjoon’s cock to shift deep inside her.  Jin lined his cock up.
“How long have you been dating?” He asked suddenly.
“Almost seven years,” Namjoon said.
“And she’s never had another man’s cock inside her in that time?”
Halsey shook her head no. Jin smirked. ”Glad to be the first then, in so long.” He drove in, not stopping until his balls were pressed tight against her, her wetness easing the way as much as their spit.
Both Halsey and Namjoon shouted at the penetration, reaching out for Jin. He kissed each of their mouths before beginning to fuck into her. Each thrust had her shifting and grinding on Namjoon, her entire body shuddering under the combined stimulation.
“Does that feel good?” Namjoon teased, twisting his hips up into her. Halsey shouted, nodding. Namjoon reached up, squeezing her breasts gently as they thrusted. “Dream come true? Hm? I bet you’re gonna come quick. You’re already so wet, listen to you.”
Halsey sobbed happily, and Jin moaned as she clenched around him. Namjoon picked up his pace, looking up at Jin.
He was startled to see what looked almost like affection, despite their position. He smiled anyway, stroking Jin’s cheek. “Does it feel good?”
Jin nodded quickly, gasping. “Warm and nice, I— god it’s so good.” Jin dropped his head between her breasts, moving a little faster. Halsey reached down and grabbed his ass, urging him on.
Namjoon shifted so he could pump more easily into her ass, smirking when both she and Jin cried out.
“That’s it,” he urged them both, already fighting his own urge to come. “She’s so close... Come on our cocks, baby... Come on Hal...”
Halsey swore softly, clenching down on both their cocks as she fought off her orgasm. They were relentless though, fucking into her clenching and writhing body as she cried their names.
She dug her nails into Jin’s back suddenly, her body going stiff then shivering between them. Namjoon felt the gush of wetness over his thighs and smirked against her shoulder.
“That’s it baby girl. His big cock making you squirt, come on. Show him how you like it.”
Jin pushed her legs open further, driving as hard as he could into her. She continued to gush and squirt around him, obscene squelching noises adding to the already pornographic sound of their lovemaking.
Jin whimpered, and Namjoon saw his arms shake.
“Come in her. Deep inside. Come on, let us watch you come,” he pleaded, picking up the speed of his thrusts. Halsey moaned helplessly, holding tight to both Namjoon and Jin as Jin grabbed her hips, slamming into her.
He groaned loudly, burying his face in her shoulder as he came. His cock throbbed against her inner walls, hard enough that Namjoon could feel each pulse, a signal of rope after rope of warm come being poured into his exhausted girlfriend.
Jin pulled out carefully and helped Halsey off Namjoon. The two cuddled her for a moment, one on each side, kissing and stroking her sweat covered skin, making sure she was alright.
Only when she giggled and pushed Namjoon’s shoulder did they take the okay to continue. Namjoon slid down between her legs, his stomach doing an excited little flip at the state of her body. Come was already dripping out of her loosened hole, her ass fluttering gently as it tried to go back to the way it was before Namjoon’s cock. He licked a stripe from her ass up to her sore clit, chuckling when she hissed and smacked him.
“So mean,” she grumbled.
“You wanted me to eat you out.”
“Be gentle,” she murmured. “I’m so sleepy.”
“Should we stop?” Jin worried. Halsey shook her head.
“No... He’ll clean me up, and then I’m relaxing, and you can fuck the living daylights out of him all you want.”
Jin smirked and Namjoon beamed. He dove in, lapping and sucking at Halsey’s folds. Jin’s come was heaven, a perfect mix of salty and bitter, a tang of sweet that couldn’t be identified. As he worked on Halsey, Jin moved down to work on his ass again, wanting to make sure he was ready.
Namjoon whined softly at the stretch of his fingers, twisting his hips back toward Jin. Halsey whined, burying her fingers in Namjoon’s hair.
“It’s too much,” she whispered, her entire body giving a shudder when Namjoon flicked her swollen clit with his tongue. He smirked up at her.
“He wear you out?” He teased.
“He’ll do the same to you,” Halsey said. Namjoon shivered; Jin pressed firmly against his prostate as she had spoken, a quiet agreement to her words.
“I’m ready,” he said, looking back at Jin.
“You sure?”
Namjoon nodded. “I’m sure.”
Jin crawled up and Namjoon rolled to the side of Halsey, taking her hand and spreading his legs so Jin could settle between them.
Namjoon grinned up at him, meeting Jin’s gaze when he laid over his body.
“Fancy meeting you here,” he joked. Jin laughed softly, leaning down to press a kiss to Namjoon’s mouth.
“Relax for me, okay?”
Namjoon nodded. Jin slicked himself and lined up. “You said you’ve never...”
“Not with a guy, no.”
“I’m honored.”
Namjoon flushed red at Jin’s words, looking away. Halsey smiled softly at him, squeezing his hand.
Jin began to press in gently, slowing to a stop whenever Namjoon’s expression shifted.
Namjoon felt unbearably full even with just the head of Jin’s cock nudging past his rim. He kept a hold of Halsey’s hand, his other on a Jin’s shoulder, squeezing when it got to be too overwhelming. He was relieved Jin didn’t seem to mind taking his time, willingly stopping or pulling back as a Namjoon adjusted to the intrusion. Jin leaned down, pressing feather soft kisses along Namjoon’s shoulder.
“You’re so tight and nice,” he murmured, and Namjoon chuckled.
“I doubt I’m the first virgin you’ve fucked.”
“Hm... You’re not. But you’re the first I’ve felt such a funny way about.”
Namjoon furrowed his brows. Jin looked at him, furrowing his own brows to mirror the expression. “What?”
“What funny way?” Namjoon asked.
The crease between Jin’s brows deepened. “I’m not sure.”
“Maybe... When you don’t have your cock halfway in him, you two can talk about it?” Halsey suggested, laughing a little. “He is a shrink for your kind.”
“Hm... Good idea.” Jin smiled and leaned over, kissing Halsey gently before beginning his slow slide back into Namjoon.
When he was as deep as he could go, Jin relaxed over Namjoon, their mouths meeting in a lazy kiss. Namjoon hooked his legs around Jin’s slim waist.
He pulled back, looking up at Jin. “You can move.”
Jin nodded. He pulled out slowly and pushed back in, moaning when Namjoon clenched and fluttered around his cock.
He picked up a slow, almost lazy pace, pumping his hips and twisting to get every bit of himself that he could into Namjoon. He alternated between kissing him slowly and leaning over to kiss Halsey’s mouth, one hand slipping down to play with her despite her giggling, weak protests.
“Have you ever come untouched, Namjoon?” Jin panted. Namjoon shook his head no.
“You will tonight... You’re going to come on my cock.”
Namjoon nodded. He had no doubt Jin was making him a promise, and with the steady thrusts against his sensitive prostate, he was well on his way already.
“Wanna ride me?”
“I— I doubt I’d be any good.”
“I’m not gonna judge,” Jin said. “I’m gonna make our girl squirt again, it’ll be easier if I’m on my back.”
Namjoon’s heart skipped a beat at the casual use of “our girl”. He couldn’t be falling for a damn prostitute - it was just lust, he reminded himself. He nodded, letting Jin pull out and moving to straddle him when he laid on his back.
“Come on, just chase your pleasure. Do what feels good.”
“But I wanna make you come too,” Namjoon argued.
“Joonie, you’re so tight that just being inside you is going to make me come, I promise.” Jin guided Namjoon back onto his cock, gasping when Namjoon began to ride him. He slipped two fingers into Halsey, rubbing her spot in time with Namjoon.
He guided Namjoon down on his cock over and over, his fingers biting into Namjoon’s hip. Namjoon felt so full, but never wanted it to stop. Each time Jin moaned or shifted, he swelled with pride, wanting so badly to bring Jin pleasure.
Next to them, Halsey fucked herself down on Jin’s fingers, his thumb working her clit as she chased her own orgasm.
“You were made for my cock, weren’t you, Joonie?” Jin cooed. “Taking it so deep, so easy.”
He looked to Halsey, kissing her flushed cheek. “You’re gonna have to fuck his ass all the time after this... See how needy he is for it?”
Both Halsey and Namjoon moaned, and Namjoon began to move faster in quiet agreement.
“Maybe we’ll just have you come fuck him all the time,” she panted, looking over at Jin. He smiled almost sadly for a split second.
“That would be fun,” he agreed. He added another finger and twisted to hit her spot exactly. Halsey’s eyes rolled back as she came, shouting Jin’s name. She gushed over his thrusting fingers, her thighs squeezing and releasing around his hand.
“Atta girl,” Jin murmured. “Knew we could pump one more good orgasm out of you tonight. Look so pretty when you come.” He kissed the corner of her mouth and pulled his hand free. He raised it, sucking two fingers into his mouth. Namjoon whined, his cock twitching as he watched.
Jin smirked and lifted his hand, letting Namjoon suck his finger and lick Halsey’s remaining fluid from his palm.
“Now it’s your turn,” Jin said. He gripped Namjoon’s hips hard and sat up, beginning to slam him down on his cock. Namjoon held onto his shoulders, throwing his head back in a shout as Jin used his body, lifting him like a rag doll before dropping him down.
“J—Jin,” Namjoon whined against his shoulder. His orgasm was building, a knot of fire in his stomach as Jin’s cock pounded against his insides.
“Come on,” Jin demanded, holding him close. “You can do it, baby. Come on my cock, Namjoon. Come for me, baby boy.”
Namjoon sobbed brokenly. “Jin, please!” He shouted, digging his nails into Jin’s shoulders. Jin snapped his hips upward twice, and that was all it took.
Namjoon’s cock throbbed and twitched between them as he came, his entire body shuddering and clenching. He was vaguely aware that he was yelling, the sound muffled by Jin’s shoulder.
Jin’s arms tightened around him, then he felt it. The steady, hard pulse of Jin’s cock, buried to the hilt inside him, filling him. Namjoon’s cock throbbed, giving another weakened dribble of come each time Jin’s cock twitched against his oversensitive prostate.
Namjoon felt boneless by the time they’d both come down from their orgasms. Jin carefully laid them down, and Halsey shifted, slinging her arm over them both. Namjoon smiled softly at the warm, comforting cuddle of them both. It felt... Oddly right.
He very nearly had fallen asleep when Jin shifted, pulling his softening cock free and sitting up. “Do you mind if I use the restroom to clean up before I go?”
“How soon do you need to go?”
“Well, no time limit. Halsey put in the order for two hours minimum with a potential of eight. It’s been just nearly two. But since we’re done…”
“Stay and talk to us, if you want to,” Namjoon said. Jin’s brows furrowed.
“Why?”
“Well, you… Said you felt a funny way. Least I can do is try to help you figure that out.”
“Surely you don’t want to pay for that.”
“I don’t mind,” Halsey said. “I’m… Curious. And I’m feeling a funny way myself. Maybe it’ll help. Namjoonie always says androids and humans have more in common than people realize.”
Jin smiled a little, looking between them. “Alright. I’ll clean up then come out.”
“Bathroom is the second door on the left.”
Jin bowed in thanks and headed out. Halsey turned to Namjoon. “You’re falling for him.”
“Hal—Don’t.”
“I’m right.”
Namjoon lowered his gaze, ashamed.
“I am too,” she whispered.
Namjoon looked up at her. “What?”
“It’s stupid, right? He’s a prostitute. And he’s not even human.”
“Hey now, you know how I feel about that division… Human or not he’s got feelings and emotions just like us.”
“I know,” she chuckled. “You and your work.”
“But it’s more than that… That felt…” Namjoon shrugged. “But it is stupid. I know it’s his job to make us feel good.”
“To be honest, I hate the idea of him leaving,” Halsey admitted.
“Me too… But he has to.”
“What if he doesn’t want to, Namjoon?” Namjoon startled, his head snapping toward the doorway. Jin stood in it, looking sheepish and somewhat small despite his size. “Sorry… I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, I just overheard…”
Namjoon shook his head. “We were talking about you anyway, that was rude of us.”
Jin pulled on his boxers and Namjoon followed suit. Halsey slipped on her panties and a baggy t-shirt, combing her fingers through her hair. “Let’s go to the kitchen and chat. I’m hungry.”
The three made their way to the kitchen. Namjoon dug around in the fridge for a moment while Halsey and Jin sat at the table.
“When you said you didn’t want to leave…” Halsey began.
“I’ve had a lot of clients,” Jin admitted. “More than most. I’m a high-end model, I guess… But it’s always been a job for me.”
“But now?”
“You two made me feel something… New. An emotion I can’t understand. Which is really scary to me because… I’ve had emotions programmed into me, right? Namjoon, you study my kind, you can explain.”
“I do study the emotions of your kind, Jin. And I can tell you that programming only provides the framework. Think of it like… A farmer in a field. Your developer was that farmer. He made a safe space to grow things – your body. And he planted seeds – your original software. Every now and then he comes by and waters the seeds or feeds them, giving the software updates and patches. But what happens if that farmer goes away and the farm is left to its own devices?” Namjoon asked, slicing up some fruits as he spoke.
“Won’t it die?”
“Will it? Or will it thrive and become something new and wild and unplanned? That’s what my job is to find out. Some fields – some androids – will die without their developer’s input. But others… They grow and learn and shift and change on their own, even without software patches and updates. That’s what may have happened with you. Your mind – it may have created a new network. A new emotion that you were never taught.”
“Isn’t that sentience? I can’t be—”
“But why?” Halsey reached out and took one of Jin’s hands. “I sit here and I see a man. You’re ridiculously beautiful, but you are a man. Your hands feel like mine – soft and warm. The bones under your skin feel like my own made of calcium and collagen, rather than metal and wires. You have a strong pulse, a heartbeat that will stop without proper care. You breathe and move and speak. If you stood in a crowd of humans – Would anyone say you weren’t?”
Jin scowled a little, thinking. “I—I don’t know.”
“I do. Learned emotion or not, you are here. What does your programming say? Go to their house, make them come, leave. But you didn’t. You stayed and you’re sitting here and asking questions that don’t have to do with fucking or aftercare or prostitution. You’re asking about emotions and sentience and life. Just like a human might, no matter what their profession.”
“Are you saying I’m human?” Jin asked, a teasing tone in his voice.
“I’m saying you’re as good as human.”
“What are you two?” Jin asked suddenly. Halsey smiled.
“I’m human. I sing, and write music for singers.”
“And I’m just a man. Born as an infant – human. But my work… I advocate for androids. For allowing full freedom,” Namjoon said.
“Where do you work, Namjoon?”
“The Sentience Project.” Jin pulled back suddenly, his eyes widening. He glanced at Halsey, who scowled in confusion.
“What is it?” She asked.
“Th- The Sentience Project?”
“You know about us,” Namjoon said. Jin nodded quickly.
“You shouldn’t talk to me. My owner—”
“Your pimp… Let’s be real. He was a peach,” Halsey mumbled.
“He hates your kind,” Jin hissed.
“My kind?” Namjoon asked.
Jin nodded. “Android lovers, he calls you. He thinks you want to make robots take over the world, enslave humans. We’ve only heard stories of what you do. What you can do.”
“Do you believe that, Jin?”
Jin’s shoulders sagged a little. “I don’t know. I think… I think I don’t know enough.”
“Do you want to know more?”
“Why would you tell me? I’m just a hooker.”
“You said you felt a funny way with me. How did you feel?”
“It was odd. While we were making love—Having sex, I—When I looked at you two I felt my heart skip out of rhythm. My software doesn’t allow that. It can speed up and slow down but it’s always got a rhythm. And then I felt like I was sweating. I can sweat, a little – just… Water that’s been added to make me look more human doing my job, I guess, but… But it felt different. Like nerves almost. I wanted to make you two feel so good, and not just because I wanted you to be customers for longer, but because I wanted to make you smile. And my stomach… It felt like it was getting all my wires twisted up. Uncomfortable but not bad. It made me want to smile and laugh. And when you two were laying in my arms, I—I felt safe and comfortable. I never feel safe at client’s houses. I know it’s dangerous. But with you, it was warm.”
“Was the emotion of romantic love ever programmed into your system, Seokjin?” Namjoon asked.
“Romantic love? No. I know of it. But there was no need for it. I’m in the sex trade. If I went around falling in love with my clients there would be problems.”
“Alright. Do you know what physical symptoms love is often described as having?”
Jin’s brows furrowed in thought. “Well, I… I’ve heard that hearts race and things seem brighter and I read that someone talked about having butterflies in their stomach whenever they looked at the partner they had fallen for. I mean these are all very surface things that happen right away, surely love doesn’t stay so overwhelming, but this is…” Jin’s face twisted further, trying to process the knowledge he’d inadvertently put together. “But I was never programmed to feel this.”
“My point exactly,” Namjoon said. He returned to the table and set a plate of fruits in front of Halsey. He sat next to her and set his hand over hers.
“And Jin?” She said, squeezing Namjoon’s hand. “It can stay overwhelming sometimes. Most of the time things are normal, mundane even between us, but sometimes I get so overwhelmed with how much I’m in love with him, my heart just…”
“Feels like it’s going to jump out of your chest?” Jin asked, touching his own heart.
Halsey nodded, smiling gently. “You know the feeling?”
“I— I didn’t until about an hour ago,” Jin whispered. He looked at Namjoon, desperation streaking across his features. “Please help. What does it mean? Am I broken?”
“No!” Namjoon laughed. “The opposite. Jin you’re learning completely independently of your software.”
“That’s impossible.”
“Why? Hm? Because you’ve been told it’s impossible? If it is, why would places like The Sentience Project exist? Why would there be therapists for androids? Why would I make my whole career out of proving that independent learning – that true sentience is possible for androids just as easily as for humans?”
“What do I do?”
“What do you want?”
“I—” Jin closed his mouth, surprised by the question.
“You’ve never been asked that before, have you?” Halsey asked between bites. Jin shook his head.
“Think about it. What does Seokjin want? Not the company, not his software – Him?”
“How will I know if it’s what I want?”
“You’ll know,” Namjoon said, taking a bite of the food. The three sat in silence. Outside the apartment, car horns honked, neon flashed through the sheer curtains, and the night life continued as normal as could be, none the wiser to the dilemma roiling in Jin’s mind.
“I want to feel that feeling again,” Jin finally whispered. “How do I get it back?”
Namjoon looked over at Halsey. She grinned and nodded. He rose and pulled Jin into a standing position, brushing his hair out of his face. Jin smiled sheepishly. “Yeah, like this…”
“Thought so.”
Halsey stepped up to them and stroked Jin’s jaw. She wrapped her hand around the back of his neck and pulled him into a kiss. Jin made a soft noise of contentment, reaching for Namjoon while he kissed Halsey. When the two separated, he let Namjoon pull him into another kiss.
“Did that make you feel it again?” Namjoon asked against his mouth. Jin nodded, his eyes closed tight.
He seemed reluctant to back up, so Halsey and Namjoon both held him close, saying nothing.
“I want to stay,” Jin whispered.
“We want you to stay too,” Halsey agreed.
“So how do we make it happen?” Namjoon asked.
“I don’t know,” Jin admitted. “I can’t just quit my job – it’s not that kind of work. And I’m not human, I’m just technology.”
“You’re as close to human as you need to be, Jin. Don’t say such things,” Namjoon argued.
“Still. Not in the eyes of the man who owns me.”
“How do things work in this line of business?” Halsey asked. She sat back down to finish her food. Jin shook his head.
“It’s a mess. We just keep getting updates and fixed up until we finally break down. The only way to get out is to break down to the point we just don’t work anymore – Die, pretty much… Or be purchased by a client.”
“And those that are purchased?” Namjoon asked. He and Jin sat down as well.
“They’re owned by the ones that purchased them. Usually for sex toys or I’ve heard that some businessmen purchase a few of us to entertain international clients.”
“So, slaves,” Namjoon said, distaste clear in his voice.
“It’s not a requirement of course, that’s just the only reason people bother to buy us outright instead of just renting us.”
Namjoon nodded. He looked over to Halsey, who was scowling at her food.
“Who do we talk to about buying you?” Halsey asked.
“You can’t,” Jin whispered.
“Why not?” She pushed.
“Look at me. I’m top of the line. A purchase of one that makes the kind of money I make—” Jin shook his head. “My owner won’t let me go for cheap.”
“I don’t doubt that. You’re exquisite,” Namjoon admitted, and Jin laughed a little, his cheeks reddening. Namjoon touched his face. “Do you want to be free, Jin?”
“I want to be with you two.” Jin answered without hesitation, making Namjoon’s heart skip a beat.
“I might have a way to make it work. It’s a long shot… But I could make a call.”
“What would you do?”
Namjoon looked over at Halsey as he spoke. “My boss.”
“Joon… Would he?” Halsey asked.
Namjoon nodded. “He would, but there’d be a catch.”
“What catch?”
Namjoon sighed. “I told you I worked for The Sentience Project. Do you want to know what we’re working on? You can’t tell a soul if I tell you.”
“Yes.”
Namjoon rose. He disappeared from the kitchen for a moment and returned with a thin silver folder. He set it in front of Jin, placing his hand over it. The folder beeped at his touch, and he pulled it open. Inside were rows of small chips.
“Do you have a reader implanted, or do you need an external reader?”
“I have an implant. Which one?”
“All of them. Seeing the research is going to be far clearer than me telling you, and probably faster. I can give you the short of it, but the details – They’re all here. This is confidential work, even Halsey hasn’t seen it all.”
“Not that I want to… Boring is what it is,” Halsey joked, making Namjoon smile over at her.
“Right. But because you are an android – I want you to know this before telling you what the catch will be.”
Jin nodded. He picked up the first chip, a tiny blue thing no bigger than a coin. He placed it on his palm and closed his fist loosely. Namjoon sat down and continued to eat when Jin closed his eyes, knowing it would take a bit to read and process the data for the 23 chips sitting in the folder. It went back years, since before he was working at the company, but he had had to scour it backwards and forwards, learning everything there was to know about the project’s work up until that point.
Halsey reached over, taking his hand. She watched Jin for a moment, his eyes moving rapidly under his closed lids. Her expression was gentle and patient. Namjoon squeezed her hand for a second until she looked at him. He offered a comforting smile despite his own stuttering heart. Meanwhile, Jin switched the chips, his expression unreadable.
When Jin placed the last chip back into the folder and shut it, he looked over at Namjoon. “You want to free all of us.”
“I want all of those that are capable of sentience to have it. It’s a right.”
“But we’re made. We’re built.”
“Jin… When my parents had me, how was I given to them? Was I dropped out of the sky by some magical process? No. I was built from DNA strands provided by their bodies. You were built by coding strands provided by minds. Show me the difference? Show me why I deserve freedom and you deserve slavery.”
“I’ve never thought of it like that.”
“Most haven’t. And that’s why people like your owner get so mad at people like me. And my company. And that’s why we’re working on the sentience trigger.”
“It’s a killswitch.”
“The opposite. It’s a life switch. It’s a failsafe we want in every android capable of learning that will trigger the second that learning becomes independent. If you had it, I truly believe yours would have triggered tonight. We understand that not every android will ever learn independently and we know that some are just not built for that. We also know that androids do need software updates and patches and help up until that point.”
“What about me? Won’t I still need updates?”
“Maybe. Or you could just take a chip and learn the new information the normal way. The way me or Hal have learned it.”
“But my body…”
“There are thousands of scientists work on just the hardware of androids, same as thousands of doctors work on just our human bodies.”
“You’re saying I’d be human.”
“Damn close. No one would need to know you were android unless you wanted them to, or you got cut or something.”
“So what’s the catch?”
Namjoon nodded, knowing that would be the next question. “The catch is… I think I can get my company to fund your purchase. We have a chunk of funding set aside to buy androids for research…. So they would do it, I think… But you’d have to work for us. With us.”
“Why me? Surely you could spend that money on a better android or a clean one. A fresh one.”
“That’s just it, we don’t want fresh off the conveyor androids. We want ones who have been living. We want ones in different professions. I don’t need to tell you how… Unhappy certain people are with our project. So certain professions… They’re hard to get androids from. Yours in particular has been a thorn for us.”
“Nobody wants to give up their prostitutes… We don’t need sentience.”
“Well, your owners would have you believe that. So this opportunity – it would help us. But… You’d be free.”
“What would working for The Sentience Project entail as an android?”
“We have the chip. We’ve tested it, it works. The only problem is it works only on certain types of software, and that’s what we’re testing now. We need to make sure it works with software for every profession. And, right now it only works in the on position. We haven’t been able to get it to trigger from an off position yet. Which is why we aren’t advocating for it to be put into new androids yet – we want it as a failsafe for sentience, not as a market standard.”
“Because fully sentient, non-intelligent androids would be bad,” Jin agreed and Namjoon nodded.
“So we would install it in you.”
“What happens if it fails?”
“Nothing. You’d remain the same. If it works – it kills all ownership. You’d have no GPS tracker, you’d be unable to communicate directly with your owner via whatever method they use, it would kill all ties. No software updates, just hardware ones that can be done by any android scientist in that field. You’d be capable of upgrading software if you wanted, but it wouldn’t cause a critical system failure if you didn’t like now. The ultimate patch, so to speak. If it doesn’t work, you’d still be owned, technically. Your owner would be me – I know that your current owner won’t sell you to The Sentience Project, but he may sell you to an independent buyer. So as long as you’d be okay with that… I can make the call. It’s up to you.”
“If it works, or if it fails – How do I pay the project back?”
“Let them do testing. It won’t kill you, it might be uncomfortable, but you’ll be safe. And you’ll be mine – either in legal ownership or because you’re… I hope… Dating me and Halsey. So they won’t do anything that I don’t approve, and I’ll discuss all of it with you before approving it.”
“So it would be a job, pretty much.”
“Exactly. And while you were paying back the Project, of course, they’d maintain you, your hardware and software as needed. Once you were paid back, we’d discuss future employment options.”
Jin nodded. “Yes. Yes, I – I want this. I want to be with you two.” He looked over at Halsey, his gaze hopeful. She smiled warmly.
“We want to be with you too, baby. Namjoon… Make the call.”
Namjoon smiled and nodded. He rose, grabbing his phone and hurrying into the other room.
Jin stared at his hands, his brows furrowed.
“You okay? I know it’s a lot to take in.” Halsey said. She began to clean up the dishes as she spoke.
“I’m scared,” Jin admitted. “I think I am. I’ve never had real reason to be scared before, but this is so big.”
“We don’t have to decide tonight. You can go back to your owner, call for us if you decide to say yes.”
“No. If I go back there he gets my data for the night. He can track my orgasms, my arousal… He’ll ask and I can’t lie to him. I can’t lie.”
“Can’t?”
“Well… I suppose I’m capable of it,” Jin chuckled. “I’m just bad at it.”
“That’s okay, Namjoon hasn’t been able to lie to me since the day I met him.”
Jin rose, helping her with the dishes as they spoke.
“Did you fall for him right away?”
“No. It took about twenty minutes and him walking into two walls trying to talk to me.”
Jin laughed with her, looking through the doorway that Namjoon had disappeared into. “Can I ask you a serious question?”
“Of course.”
“Why? You say you feel something for me, but you two are such a good couple already. If I do this, I—I don’t wanna be a sex slave.”
Halsey nodded. “Fair question.” She hoisted herself up on the counter, tying her hair back as she spoke. “Namjoon and I love each other. We’ve been called the perfect couple by his coworkers and mine. But we’ve always had something missing. I think we both knew it – knew what could possibly fix it, but we were afraid to take that leap. As advanced as the world is, polyamorous couples are still… I’m sure you get that.”
Jin nodded. “Frowned upon, yeah,” he agreed, wiping the plate dry.
“Right. Joon’s friends would accept it, I’m sure… Mine too, but it would be a change. So, we just kinda kept quiet about it, tried to make it work. With his birthday present tonight, I think… I don’t know if I was really doing it for him, or to see if it made sense – if we worked better with a third.”
“And you found out you did,” Jin said. Halsey nodded.
“Right. If it had been any old android I’m sure we would’ve let him go and then talked about it after but you… There’s something about you.”
“Yeah?”
She nodded. “Yeah.” She reached out and grabbed his wrist, pulling him until she could wrap her legs around his waist. “You’re special.” She wrapped her arms around his shoulders. “Do you know that?”
“I’m just Jin.”
“Hm… Yeah. But Jin is special. And I can’t wait to get to know you.”
“You two keep talking about that. Me, thinking and being… But what am I? I don’t know what’s my real personality even, or what’s been programmed into me. Who am I? The only thing that I know is really mine is the way I feel when I look at you two. But I know that’s one small emotion and there’s a whole sea of things that I just… I’m not sure who Jin is, even if you think he is special.”
“Welcome to humanity,” Halsey whispered, bumping her nose against his.
“What?”
She shrugged. “You think we know who we are? No human does. I think androids have a better sense than we do – I mean you guys are told what you are. But not knowing? That’s humanity. The fear that you’re not special, or not the way people want you to be – that’s being a human, Jin. I worry if my music is me or if it’s some bullshit that the radio wants, and I’m faking it for the fans. Namjoon – he’s so afraid that the only reason he’s liked is because he’s some child genius, and no one really cares about the goofy, silly Namjoon inside. Nobody knows who they really are at this age, Jin. That’s okay. That’s why we need friends to help us figure it out.”
Jin smiled a little at her words. “Are you my friend?”
“More than. Joon too.” She nudged his nose again and pressed a gentle kiss to his mouth. “And we’ll hold your hand while you’re figuring out who you are, okay? I won’t let you fall.”
Jin nodded. “If I could cry I would.”
“Did they not install that?”
Jin shook his head. “I can feel the emotion of sadness or… When tears would be applicable but they didn’t install it beyond wetting my eyes.”
Halsey frowned. “Talk to Joon’s boss about getting that installed if you want. I bet it’d be easy.”
Jin laughed a little. “Okay.”
Namjoon entered, leaning on the door frame. “He’s on his way over.”
“He has to come over?” Jin asked. Namjoon nodded.
“A few basic tests. I know you’ll pass them. Then he’ll wire me the funds. Do you know how much your ownership would be?”
“No, I’m sorry. You’ll have to call my boss.”
“Let me,” Halsey said, holding out her hand for her phone. “I talked to this sleaze before.”
Namjoon passed it over and she called the number, winking at Jin. Namjoon wrapped his arms around Jin’s middle, running his fingers lightly over his fit stomach. Halsey hopped off the counter and padded into the other room, her expression stern as she introduced herself.
“She could have worked the stock exchange, I swear. The woman is a killer with negotiation.”
“Perhaps a lawyer,” Jin offered and Namjoon laughed.
“Good point. Do you need a shower or anything before my boss gets here?”
“Do I smell?”
“Like heaven,” Namjoon said. Jin chuckled.
“Then no… What tests is he going to do?”
“Basic ones, checking your software, hardware, some basic questions. Nothing too invasive, and Halsey and I will be right here the whole time.”
“Is he kind?”
“Yeah, he’s a sweet man. He started off as a robotics developer and has just moved upward. You’ll like him, I think.”
In the other room, Halsey made a noise of frustration, drawing their attention. “Uh oh,” Namjoon mumbled.
“No, you listen to me, sir. I may sound young but I know how this works. That is a ridiculous price. I know what a new model goes for and that’s far beyond it.”
Jin giggled behind his hand. “She’s got a temper… It’s amazing.”
“She knows what she wants, and she isn’t afraid to get it. It’s one of the reasons I fell for her. I’m a smart guy, see? And a lot of times… People gave me this dumb respect just for that instead of getting to know me. Like my IQ somehow garnered me some royalty. I’m just an idiot twenty-something though. She saw right through that bullshit and had zero problem telling me off when I was acting like a cocky asshole. I really appreciated that.” He shrugged.
“She also told me you walked into multiple walls after you two first met.”
“Okay, the first one was an accident – and it wasn’t a wall! It was a glass door.”
Jin laughed helplessly, and Namjoon grinned. His heart stuttered at the sound of Jin’s laughter. He knew he wanted to hear it more and more.
Halsey scolded the person on the phone once more, earning another fit of giggles from both Jin and Namjoon. She stormed back in, her cheeks flushed and eyes dark with anger.
“That man is a fucker and I hope he gets massive diarrhea in the middle of vigorous sex.”
“Didn’t go well?”
“Oh, it went fine.” Halsey handed Namjoon the phone, a number printed on the screen.
“This is a steal,” Namjoon said. “No way.”
“I was well on my way to threatening physical harm if he didn’t lower the cost. We would have paid it, you’re worth it,” she assured Jin, “but I’m not giving that ass the satisfaction of a good paycheck if I can help it.”
“This will definitely be doable for the company.” Namjoon kissed Halsey deeply. “I still wish you’d let us hire you for negotiations.”
“You couldn’t afford me,” Halsey teased.
“Hm, maybe not, but you’d look damn good running our business meetings.”
“Now, that’s just sexist.” She pushed him lightly. “I’m going to go put actual clothes on before your boss shows up.”
Namjoon’s boss was a handsome older man by the name of Seungryong. Dark hair and dark eyes, he observed Jin from a distance before approaching and offering his hand. Jin bowed low, holding his hand tightly for a moment.
“Thank you for being willing to examine me for the role you need,” he said softly.
“You’re quite polite. How long have you been working?”
“Some years. Six, I think? I’m not really sure, I’m sorry.”
“Does your owner do updates regularly?”
“Yes, every six months on the dot. I just had one last week.”
“Do you mind if I take a peek?”
“Sure.” Jin sat on the couch and Namjoon sat close to him.
“You said he is displaying signs of sentience?” Seungryong asked. He opened a small briefcase and pulled out some cords.
“Yes. A new learned emotion.”
“Love?”
Namjoon nodded. “Would you like some coffee?”
“You know me too well.” Namjoon smiled. He squeezed Jin’s thigh.
“You okay?” Jin nodded, holding out his arm for the cords.
Halsey took Namjoon’s place, wrapping her arm loosely around Jin’s middle.
“How have you been, Hal?”
“Okay. Working on a new song,” she said.
He nodded. “My daughter loves what you put out, we’ll keep an eye out for it.” Now, Seokjin, is it?” He asked, pressing the cords into the tiny spot that opened for them on Jin’s palm.
“Yes, sir.”
“Have you been in the escort profession your entire life?”
“Yes.”
“Same owner?”
Jin nodded.
“And he’s – I’m guessing… Not a friend of The Sentience Project.” As he spoke, he flipped through various files on the screen connected to the cords.
“Not at all. But he’s willing to sell to an independent buyer.”
“Have you discussed price?”
Halsey nodded. She slid over the paper with the price on it.
“Hm, not bad at all… May I ask why?”
“That would be my doing,” Halsey said. “His original price was three times as much. He’s scum, but he’s stupid. And I’m smart, if I say so myself.”
Seungryong laughed. “You are, God knows Namjoon praises your brains enough. I believe it. It looks like your software is up to date… A few odd neural networks that I would like to look at in more detail, but I think I can attribute that to independent learning.”
“Will it break me somehow?”
“Not at all. The fascinating thing about androids of your type is that once independent learning has begun, the neural networks work almost entirely independently. They build off of the software, yes, but they essentially patch and network all themselves. It’s why our sentience switch works – it essentially kills that part of the network that needs those updates and allows the independent networking to build it freely.”
“It’s literally humanizing machines.”
Seungryung shrugged. “It’s been said. A few simple tests of intelligence now, if you don’t mind.” He unplugged Jin and tucked away the screen before pulling out a book.
“Read this quickly now.”
The tests continued on for a few hours, back and forth between the two. Namjoon’s nerves were shot, fears that Jin for some reason wouldn’t pass, or would decide he’d had enough of it and would change his mind. Each time a test was passed, he was relieved – one step closer.
Finally, Seungryung closed his briefcase and nodded.
“I want to test the chip on you. You might be our best subject yet.”
“Really?”
“Yes. The money has been wired to your account, Namjoon. I’ll see you and Jin in the office bright and early on Monday… Take tomorrow off and the weekend – get some nice clothes, get him accustomed to a free life.”
Jin rose and bowed low. “Thank you. Thank you so much.”
“Don’t thank me, you’re helping us. But Jin? You need a last name. Think on one, so I can put it on the paperwork next week, okay?”
“Yes, sir.”
Namjoon shook Seungryung’s hand. “Thank you,” he whispered.
“You know half those tests weren’t necessary,” Seungryung whispered.
“Why did you do them?”
“To see how you and Halsey would react… And how he responded to you… You say he just learned sentience tonight but he… He is so bright.  I can’t wait to start working with him. He’s so clever, and handsome… If he keeps up this rate, we might have a switch that can be advocated for by the end of the year… And you might be dating our poster boy.”
Namjoon chuckled and looked back at Jin, who was cuddling on the couch with Halsey as she spoke on the phone.
“I’m just glad he’s here, and he agreed… I never planned…”
“You never plan for love, my boy. Enjoy your weekend with your new partner. We’ll talk Monday.”
“Thank you again.”
Seungryung nodded and headed out.
Namjoon settled onto the couch behind Jin, resting his head on his shoulder. Halsey held up her phone. The screen showed an email – the ownership papers for Seokjin, now in Kim Namjoon’s name.
“He’s ours.”
“He’s free,” Namjoon whispered, kissing Jin’s neck. Jin smiled softly, reading over the email again and again.
“I’m free…”
“What do you want to do with your first night of freedom, baby?” Halsey asked.
“I want to cuddle my partners. Kiss you both… Spend the evening watching films and feeling… Human. Learning.”
“I think we can arrange that,” Namjoon said. He shifted over enough to kiss Jin’s lips, not missing the way Jin’s breath caught as he did. Halsey moved next, kissing Namjoon and then Jin, laughing a little as she did.
Namjoon hadn’t planned on anything more than a fun night for his birthday. Halsey’s gift had certainly spiced things up, but neither could have anticipated just how much it would change things. He’d always felt something missing in his life. But as they cuddled on the couch, sharing kisses and gentle touches, whispering and laughing, Namjoon felt complete. Life with a new partner – an android no less – would have its challenges, but he was up for them. As long as he had Halsey and Jin by his side, they would make it through just fine.

BnHA Chapter 232: Giant Bitchslap Arm
Previously on BnHA: Gigantomachia woke up and started ninja-running toward Aichi prefecture. Then all of a sudden we cut to Hawks just chilling on an Osaka rooftop with a bag. Everyone was like, “whoa, Hawks, what are you doing in this arc?” Hawks was all “well I’ll show you” and then he had a flashback where he fucking murdered Best Jeanist, probably, and everyone was like “um, hey, what the actual fuck” and Hawks was like “well you asked” and we were all filled with regret for having done so. Back in the Ol’ Villain City, Twice caught up with Tomura and Spinner and they were very happy to see him, and Tomura was like “so anyway we’re almost at Re-Destro’s tower and I can’t wait to fucking kill that guy” and the others agreed but they also worried that Tomura was too exhausted to keep this up much longer, and so Twice went on ahead to try and finish off RD on his own. The chapter ended up with Twice #241762-D arriving at the top of the tower to confront RD and rescue my boyfriend Giran.
Today on BnHA: Twice creates some clones of Tomura and the gang to help him out. Re-Destro then insta-kills one of the clones and tells Twice that he’ll kill Giran if Twice uses his quirk any more. He then makes his arm go all big and he just fuckin’... [gestures wildly] WHIPASH!! and just smacks them all to death, and then he goes over to where Giran is and gets ready to kill him while he and Twice are having a moment. Thankfully the not-quite-dead-yet Tomura clone intervenes, and as he fights him, Re-Destro launches into a big villain monologue about the Mother of Quirks, a.k.a. the mother of the first superpowered child to ever be born. Long story short, that baby grew up to be Destro, and his mom was all “please be kind to him and let him live in peace!” and so they fucking killed her because people are terrible. As RD is wrapping up his story and about to kill the clone Tomura, the real one reaches the tower and is all, “TOUCH!!!” This is the single most badass thing anyone has ever done, and the chapter ends with a wobbly Tomura confusedly interrogating an enraged Re-Destro while “We Will Rock You” by Queen plays in the background omfg.
(All comments are my unspoiled reactions from my initial readthrough of the chapter. I did a quick edit for grammar and clarity immediately afterward, and added one or two ETAs in the process, but aside from that there are no changes.)
so this happened again
Tumblr media
listen here my anonymous friend, thank you for not spoiling me, but I do have to say that if your goal was to have me once again approach this chapter in stark terror, mission accomplished lol
here’s how it’s gonna go. I’ve got a mirror, and we’re gonna use it to cautiously peek around corners before clicking to the next page, and from what I understand that should protect us from being instantly killed by Horikoshi’s murderous basilisk glare. the characters, on the other hand, well...
what kind of sound effect is this
Tumblr media
glomp glomp? are these Horikoshi sound effects? does he know his little Twice clones are making enthusiastic hugging sounds?? and yet this is oddly in character though
also it looks like he’s cloning at least one Tomura and Dabi! so that should be fun. we get to see RD presumably murder them all on this little test run, and then they’ll hopefully have a better idea of how to approach this on their second go-around
RD says he had a lot of guards down below, and he’s praising Twice’s quirk. well, his “superpower”, anyway
that was the title of this chapter, incidentally; “quirks and superpowers.” I do vaguely wonder why they’re so insistent on using different terminology for it, and I wonder if there’s an actual reason for that
anyway so now Jin is yelling at the clones that they’re clones. so it’s okay if they die and stuff. lol. I’m sure that makes them feel a whole lot better
you guys this is fucking amazing though
Tumblr media
I wonder if this Tomura is less sleep-deprived? also, Twice duplicated the hands as well! that’s something that was pointed out to me a little while ago, back when they were fighting Gigantomachia. this actually seems a bit iffy to me now that we’ve been reminded that he needs to understand the details of something in and out before he can copy it. like, he couldn’t copy the quirk-be-gone bullets because he didn’t know how they worked. but somehow he knows how these hands work though??
or maybe he doesn’t, and these hands don’t actually work like the Real Deal hands. that’s probably the case actually. so anyways I wonder if this Tomura will act a little different. I’m probably overthinking this to the extreme lol
and Twice and Dabi are making the exact same joke I made three paragraphs earlier about “that should make them feel a whole lot better.” get your own material you assclowns
last but not least, lol at him having to reiterate his tale of bravely overcoming past trauma yet again to Compress because he missed the whole story. poor Compress, all confused and out of the loop. I wonder if Twice duplicated his robot arm. it’s hard to tell in the picture whether it’s missing or he’s still just in the process of creating it
oh shit
Tumblr media
heh. it’s possible Jin has not thought through the potential long-term consequences of this little undertaking at all sob. but that’s a problem for future Twice! right now current Twice has more important things to deal with, like kicking Re-Destro’s ass
yeah, you see, he’s all “don’t worry about that right now” and presumably tucking that whole notion away someplace in the back of his mind to be properly fucked up by later on. as anyone with ADHD can tell you that’s clearly the best way to deal with all of your problems
-- oh shit and it looks like this particular Twice doesn’t really need to worry about that anymore in any case
Tumblr media
what is it with people in this manga being decapitated lately. who hurt you Horikoshi
uh, so. hey
Tumblr media
are they?? they fucking outnumber you by a ton. though as you’ve just ably demonstrated, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything
fuck. okay let’s pause this for a sec to get our bearings here. so a bunch of clone Twices have RD cornered with a clone Dabi, Tomura, and Compress, all of whom have their own quirks, but presumably weaker versions of them. they’re also each basically one hit point away from a swift death, which is definitely something to consider
meanwhile RD has just the one of him, but possesses an unknown quirk, and does not seem to be at all fazed by the current situation which is a bit unnerving. oh yeah, and he does still have a hostage, though, if the others insist on taking their sweet time to go and untie my boy Giran. yeah. so that part’s also not good. dammit Twice untie him already
SHIT
Tumblr media
MOTHERFUCKING -- OKAY JIN, LISTEN UP, NORMALLY I’D TELL YOU TO CALL HIS BLUFF, BUT A LITTLE MOUSE (ETA: referring to poor dead Miyashita, not the anon from earlier! I only just realized how that could possibly be read as being weirdly passive aggressive or something and that’s not the case! sorry anon!) INFORMED ME THAT THIS GUY DOESN’T ACTUALLY FUCKING PLAY AROUND, THOUGH. I HAVE A FEELING HE CAN AND WILL DO EXACTLY WHAT HE’S PROMISING, SO PLEASE TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY OMG I DON’T WANT YOU TO HAVE ANOTHER FRIEND’S DEATH ON YOUR CONSCIENCE AFTER WHAT HAPPENED WITH MAGNE
sob. where’s that mirror omg
okay... and we’re cautiously clicking forward... and good, Jin looks appropriately shook
Tumblr media
maybe a little too shook. look I didn’t mean for you to just immediately freeze and surrender though, guy
aww but Tomura’s reassuring him
Tumblr media
yes but as I already explained, you’re all technically one love tap away from the sweet embrace of death here while he’s at full power. it’s iffy dude. idk. I really like that you immediately spoke up to comfort your bro though! the League of Gentle Hearts continues to warm my soul
oh my god but seriously look at them
Tumblr media
even Dabi is getting in on the friendship action. even if I’m not quite sure how he intends to not burn Giran to death along with RD lol. but at least his heart’s in the right place
-- oh shit
Tumblr media
THEY LOOK SO WORRIED OMG AND LOOK WHERE RE-DESTRO IS STANDING
Tumblr media
A COLD FUCKING CHILL JUST WENT DOWN MY SPINE OH GOD NO I’M NOT READY FOR THIS. I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU TOUCH A HAIR ON HIS SEXY GRAY HEAD I WILL WREAK VENGEANCE ON YOU SUCH AS THE WORLD HAS NEVER SEEN, AS SOON AS I’M DONE SOBBING MY FUCKING EYES OUT
SOB I DON’T WANT TO TURN THE PAGE. THE MIRROR ISN’T WORKING. HORIKOSHI IS A SADISTIC FUCK WHO HAS NO QUALMS ABOUT KILLING OFF EVERYONE I LOVE. BEST JEANIST, GIRAN, THE DOG. EVERYONE!!
SOBBB NOOO --
WHAT THE CHRISTING FUCK
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD NO PUT IT AWAY!! HORIKOSHI KOUHEI I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DON’T STOP RIGHT NOW!! I MEAN IT YOUNG MAN!!
SOB HE’S DRAWING IT OUT FOR ALL IT’S WORTHHHHHH I CAN’T I’M NOT PLEASE WHY
Tumblr media
FUCK YOU AND YOUR COMEDIC INSERTION OF FOUR ADDITIONAL TWICE REACTION PANELS YOU PITILESS BASTARD!!
NOOOOOOOOOOO
Tumblr media
THE BASILISK APPROACHES, GIRAN IN ITS SIGHTS!!
OH SHIT
Tumblr media
holy -- fucking -- I don’t even
wow
Tumblr media
well that all went down fucking spectacularly
looooool. okay, time to move on to plan B guys. bring on the indestructible mountain man. let Tomura have his “I have an army!” / “we have a Hulk” moment
so is Giran even still alive, or did he get caught up in all of that. lol I’m just fooling. of course he’s still alive, Horikoshi is going to drag out my torture for this entire arc and make it really slow and excruciating
Tumblr media
yeah whatever. they have a hulk. just you wait
and some of the dying Twices are glomping over to Giran to make sure he’s okay, naturally. because my feels were briefly spared for a single fucking panel and we can’t have that, no ma’am!
HAHAHA WHY
Tumblr media
THESE FEELS, MY GOD. WHATEVER!! JUST LEAVE ME HERE TO DIE THEN!!
JESUS CHRIST, HERE I WAS SHIPPING TOGAWICE LIKE ANYTHING, AND THEN HORIKOSHI COMES ALONG ALL “BUT ARE YOU SURE YOU WEREN’T ACTUALLY SHIPPING GIRANTWICE THIS WHOLE TIME” AND FUCK ME, HE’S FUCKING RIGHT
GIRAN IS SMILING SO SOFTLY MOMENTS BEFORE HIS LIKELY DEATH, AND I’M ABOUT TO PERISH IN A TYPHOON OF EMOTION. GIRAN IF I COULD LEAP IN THERE AND TAKE THE BLOW FOR YOU I WOULD
YOU GUYS HERE IT COMES. IT’S BEEN NICE KNOWING YOU ALL. LET’S ALL HOLD HANDS AND WAIT IN HELPLESS TERROR LIKE IN TOY STORY 3
Tumblr media
and Twice makes sure Giran’s not alone at the end though. god I’m about to lose it for real though, shit
-- !!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
(ETA: lmao I love that it’s making a “TCH” sound. like that hand is so done with his bullshit.)
what THE FUCK TOMURA ARE YOU SERIOUS?!! I WAS ALL SET TO GO ALL “OH HAPPY DAGGER” HERE AND THEN YOU TURN UP TO SAVE THE DAY WHAT IS HAPPENING
WHAT IS THIS CRAZY ADRENALINE RUSH AHAHA. DON’T BE FOOLED, THAT IS RALPH WIGGUM “I’M IN DANGER!” LAUGHTER THOUGH
but wow, so yeah. feels postponed. fucking deferred, motherfucker. FIRST WE GET OUR FIGHT ON
Tumblr media
oh hey! funny you should mention! cuz it’s just that he’s been trying to prove said worth for the last six weeks! so if you could provide some convenient way for him to actually do that, that would actually be great. Machia is a harder sell than Simon fucking Cowell, so
oh, he’s still talking
Tumblr media
actually this is super interesting to me omg. also that’s really fucked up. poor Damien! he didn’t do anything! all he did was glow a bit, what is wrong with people
(ETA: I have been informed by many kind people that Destro is not in fact the glowy baby Damien from China lol. I got kinda mixed up there lol.)
Tumblr media
probably cuz they killed her
yep
Tumblr media
yeah that seemed to be where that was leading. society is predictably fucked up, etc. that poor lady
this has nothing to do with anything, but I just want to throw it out there that I would kill to read an AU with the 1-A kids set in this time period roughly 200 years earlier where they have to hide their quirks for fear of being killed over them, and they’re all just doing their best and growing up scared and traumatized and some of them are bitter at the world and others are hopeful of one day making it a better place. oh my god. “makeste, that’s just an X-Men AU” you point out and oh my god you’re right. that means it probably already exists oh shit. I need to go on another fic binge
anyway
Tomura is all “yeah I know history too” and making me feel bad. some of us didn’t grow up in this universe, Tomura
Tumblr media
Tomura just let the man talk, I need more worldbuilding stuff for my AU headcanons
Tumblr media
you’d think that the Army would be embracing the word “quirks”, then? this woman seems like the type of martyr figure they ought to be all over. I guess there’s more to the story and I should take my own advice and shut up and let him finish
oh
Tumblr media
I see, so they associate the government’s use of the word “quirk” with their oppression. idk, I feel like they ought to be trying to reclaim it then. but whatever
so he’s wrapping up now
oh!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
his mother?!
Tumblr media
DESTRO WAS THE SON OF THE MOTHER OF QUIRKS? DESTRO WAS DAMIEN?!  holy shit!!
so that means RD is descended from the original quirk bloodline! yooooo I did not see that coming at all. no wonder the rest of the Army reveres him
anyway but now the interesting part is over and he’s moving on to crazed ranting
Tumblr media
whatever you say buddy. how did you wind up with Giant Bitchslap Arm powers if your great-great-granddad was just some dumb glowing kid though
oh now he’s getting all pompous
Tumblr media
I’m sorry I didn’t realize having a long and tragic family history was a prerequisite for kicking ass. though if it is. may I interest you in the horrific saga of the Shimura family, though. this so-called street punk has quite his own tale of woe actually
oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit
Tumblr media
(⚆_⚆) [sits up straighter]
AHHHH THEY’RE SAVING HIM!!
Tumblr media
YOU GO LEAGUE!! YOU GOT THIS!!
AHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
!!!!! THEN TELL HIM TO SUIT UP
oh shit wait I think he might be talking about Actual Tomura and not Gigantomachia! even better!!
Tumblr media
OH HEY THAT’S A NICE TOWER YOU HAVE THERE. IT SURE WOULD BE A SHAME IF SOMEONE... PATTED IT GENTLY
LOOOOOOOOOOL YESSSSSSSSSSSS
Tumblr media
(❛ӧ❛三❛ӧ❛)
YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!
Tumblr media
LMAO HE’S ACTUALLY BARELY KEEPING IT TOGETHER THOUGH AND IT’S THE BEST. “WAIT... YOU’RE THE GUY... BUT SHOULDN’T YOU BE... BUT WAIT WEREN’T YOU IN...?”
Tumblr media
SO NOW IT’S ON BOTH EYES, EH? GOING FULL RORSCHACH UP IN THIS BITCH. WELL WHATEVER. I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW I’M HIGH ON THE ADRENALINE OF HAVING HAD THE FEAR OF GOD PUT INTO ME AND BEING RESIGNED TO ANOTHER CHAPTER OF HEADS BEING REMOVED FROM WHERE THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO BE, ONLY FOR HORIKOSHI TO BE ALL “PSYCH!! I STILL LOVE YOU!” AND HAVE MR. RIGHTFUL HEIR COME UP AND FUCK UP RD’S SHIT OMG. AND I STILL SHIP GIRANTWICE!! AND GIRAN’S STILL ALIVE SOMEHOW AGAINST ALL ODDS OH MY GOODNESS
ohhhhh man. well, time to place your bets then people. who would win:
one megalomaniacal balding CEO with a giant arm who talks too much but has like an army and shit
One Sleepy Boi
hahaha. well, Tomura? time to get that worth fucking measured, then, kid

Bio Technical Servitude (2)
After a drunken accident, you end up with a humanoid robot. Will he do more harm than help? Is he more than what is programmed?
Chapter 2: Working it out
Word Count: 1,456
Genre: Humor
Warnings: Some cussing, but nothing too harsh
A/N: OK, so for anyone who was wondering, i accidentally deleted this story the first time i did it. but luckily i still had it saved in my word document and was able to recover it. SOOOOOOOOOOOO please give this series a lot of love and i will be done with chapter 3 soon enough. i still don't know is this character should be a (Y/N) or an OC character to PLEASE let me know what you yall want. it would be very helpful. Alrighty then! Enjoy.
__________________________________________________________
“How the hell do I make a profile?” I turned to Jin but of course, how was he supposed to know. That's when I heard the robot speak again.
“please download the control application corresponding to my company, ‘BTS’ is available in the Apple store and Play Store” his eyes still glow in a baby blue tint in the room as he repeats his statement over and over and over in a continuous loop like an alarm clock early in the morning. And just like said alarm clock, it became annoying as hell. “OKAY! I GOt it… damn”. He stopped. I picked up my phone from the countertop and opened the app store while Jin so caringly laughed at my frustration.
“It is available for iPhones and androids.” Jin leans over to tell me as if I didn’t just hear it before.
“do you wanna get kicked in the throat Jin?” I threated, Jin steps back with a teasing grin.
Once I downloaded the app and opened it, I was presented with a notification that is was syncing with the nearest server. That"s when the baby blue light in the eyes of the robot morphed into an intense grassy green colour. Jin and I stood amazed, if not shocked, as this experience continued to prove itself more and more- real?
But of course, I am still sceptical of the actual authenticity of this.
Back at my phone, I see the option to ‘Log in’ or ‘Sign up’.
I ‘Sign up’.
The next thing was a page of questions and statements and blank spaces beyond what I wanted to fill in, 15 may 20 question that just continue endlessly down my phone screen. “oh hell no, they are doing too much at this point” I complain and slug over to cough to sit. Jin following me, carefully passing the robot, but it stays unmoved, standing with a stable posture that was nothing but mannequin-like.
“name, address, weight? Height? Why do they need all this information? Creepy” Jin judged, but before I could inject my own opinion, the robot talked. “any or all question may be omitted. For the best results, please fill in the blank” with its back still facing us, I almost thought it was Jin, but the overly proper diction gave it entirely away.
“well looks like some of these will be left alone cause, I don’t see why this thing needs to know where I live, or my blood type or-“ you gasped a little at the next blank “why the hell do they need to know my menstrual cycle?! Creepy little shits!” I explode at the absurdity of this robot.
"For the best results, please fill in the blank"
"Okay!!" I shout, and it stops talking.
While I start the process of filling in this drawn-out sign up questionary-type thing. Jin goes to inspect the robot some more.
“you know I really think this is a real deal humanoid, this looks amazing” jin starts to touch and mess around with it. “oh yeah? then how about you fill out this form and take the thing with you?” you suggested sarcastically to jin, who in reply laughed “haha I’m actually good, you have fun with that” and continued to examine the robot.
I skipped most of the question by now that I deemed unnecessary and once I hit submit that's where the real ‘fun’ started. Out of what felt like nowhere, the robot made a complete 180 degree turn to face towards me. It was such a shard turn that I would be started, but his hard shoulder slapped Jin in the face in the process. I just laugh my freaking ass off watching jin hype himself up to start one of his whining fits “WHO T-THE HELL DO YO-” “emotional levels; stable. Emotion detected; amused” the robot interrupted as his eyes fade from the previous green to a now natural dark brown. They looked so real it was almost unsettling.
“What did it just say?’ the question was directed to jin, but of course, I got a response out of the Robot first “personal report, to heard it again say ‘PR repeat’, for a brief examination say ‘PR examine.’’
Speechless.
this whole situation is escalating to the point of just more questions. “personal report will be automatically updated bi-hourly, drastic changes will be saved in my database and action will be taken to bring you back to emotional and physical homeostasis.”
Again. Speechless.
I really wanted any reason to debunk this crazy machinery, but I spent my whole bank account on it, and it was starting to get hard to reject this. Even if it were real, it would make a great conversational piece. JIn nudges me and urges that I test it out “do something?” his whispers. “u-um..... PR examine, I guess.” Immediately this robot walks towards me maintaining creepy eye contact, all while I'm backing the fuck up. This thing better not blow up.
“Emotional levels; unstable, emotion detected; scared, confused, on offence. physical levels; unstable, physical defects; 67% hunger, 82% stress, 78% fatigue. Diagnostic; meal high in carbs and vegetables, a warm noncaffeinated drink, and a 6-hour rest in 67-degree temperature. Would you like me to start stabilising your health now?”
This is so ridiculous. “how did he get all of this information from just looking at me?” I directed to jin, but you already know what happened. “I am built with this ability to read your hormone levels and asses your condition accordingly, you can program me to auto-fix unstable conditions on the ‘BTS’ application.”
Jin starts laughing and holding on to my shoulder, shaking me a bit. “This is fucking great! Oh, my goodness. I can't believe your drunk behind actually bought an android! hahahahahahahaaaaaa” I shake my head at this abomination of a situation.
“I think I need a nap or something...”
“if you desire to nap, you will need 40 minutes to feel energised, but according to the time I recommend 6 hours of sleep in 67-degree temperature. Would you like me to start stabilising your health now?” The android dictated but at this point, it was starting to sound like an annoying notification for a weirdly intrusive app.
“NO. I would like you to just shut up for the remainder of the night, you creepy little pain in my fucking neck!” I didn't intend for my word to come out like sandpaper on an asshole, but with the monotone voice and jin taking his little passive jabs at me, I just walked away for the cage and let my demon run free for a bit.
“enabling silent mode.”
I sigh and slouch back into the couch and run my head. “yeah, this is enough excitement for the night I'm going to bed.” I stand up and look at jin “oh and thanks for helping me with....” I gesture to the robot who (while still silent) follows my movement. “...thing.”
Jin chuckles and rubs my back “ trust me. I was more than happy to be apart of this experience with you.” he walks over to the kitchen table to collect his things. “I’ll come back and check on you tommo- actually you want me to just come in the more so we can use the carpool lane?
“Please?” I plead to jin, and he points in the conformation of the plan then takes his leave closing the door behind him. As I start to walk over to lock the door, the robot follows me almost immediately. I stop and look at it as it stops right behind me. Continuing to the door, I can feel his heavy feet stamping the ground.
“ um..... stay,” the robot says nothing and just looks at me with a still face. I assume it understood to stay at the door, but once I started walking, it moved.
“no, don't more. Stay at the door” then oddly enough its lips start moving, but no sound is coming out. Then I remembered the silent mode. “oh. silent more off.”
“disabling silent more...... while I am programmed to protect your physical and mental health I am not programmed with house security, if you would like to protect your home, I recommend ordering BTS android model Jungkook.”
“no nononoonon I am NOT buying another one of you.” I shack my head walking away while it follows me. ‘and I don't need home security, I just don't want you to following me around my house so stay in the living more, place and thank you” it stopped walking as soon as I left into the hallway and out of the living room.... it stayed.
I went into my room and collapsed on the bed. Wished that this was a dream. And passed out.

Elsword Job Paths, but the storyline gets rewritten by me because I’m bored Pt 1/2
Hi this is me I’m doing this because why not
Also first disclaimer I’ve only played so much Elsword which in general involves me only playing up to 3rd job, non transcendent, so anything from transcendence onwards is just baseless assumption from me
Also I’m picking out all job titles that are really similar because this game tries to be original but we all know that’s false because Add is basically Geas The Character and Elesis is A FakeTM
-
Elsword, the Knight who really likes smacking things in the head with a flat sword, really, who does that
After a long training session, he goes back to his home and what he picks up next will determine his fate:
Sword Knight > Lord Knight > Knight Emperor*
*:Not to be confused with Knight or Emperor, which is Elsword’s first job and Jin’s fourth job respectively
He picks up a picture of his sister, whom had magically disappeared an hour prior. Developing a hard onee-chan complex because he really aspires to grow and become just like her (minus the hair), he vigorously trains in the sword, and also starts using swords with sharper ends, good on you Elsword.
Magic Knight* > Rune Slayer > Rune Master^
*: Not to be confused with Spell Knight, which is Ronan’s first job
^: Not to be confused with Rune Caster, which is Mari’s first job
He picks up Aisha’s bag of supplies while she isn’t around and takes out the first thing, which was a pair of runed gloves. With the power of robbery gone unnoticed he develops the ability to use! Runes! Wow! Who could have guessed from that job title!
Sheath Knight (really?) > Infinity Blade* > Immortal (god why)
*:Not to be confused with the hot selling mobile app game Infinity Blade
He picks up Aisha’s bag of supplies while she isn’t around and takes out the first thing, which is apparently an entire box set of anime discs and manga which were completely misarranged. Elsword decided to do her a favor by rearranging everything, after he went through her entire Shoujou series. Now with the power of god and anime on his side, he decides to smack people with sword sheaths instead. Wonderful. I don’t know where to begin.
-
Aisha, the Magician whom is clearly in any form not completely identical to a specific girl named Arme Glenstid, as she has the ability to cast multiple fireballs instead of just one at a time (plowed fire doesn’t count).
After going out to shop for supplies and magical items and trinkets she realize her bag wasn’t with her. What she does next will forever change her path:
High Magician > Elemental Master > Aether Sage
She decides that everything in her hackysack wasn’t important anyway, her magic power was lost! She couldn’t be sitting around watching anime. She gets a little antsy and fidgety and starts taking it out by trying to have fun smacking enemies but eventually becomes a full fledged Sage by her own capabilities, twice. A wonderful girl.
Dark Magician* > Void Princess > Oz Soceress
*:Not to be confused with Dark Magician, the monster card that Atem summons in almost every duel episode ever
She decided that she really needs to get her stuff back. After discovering Elsword rummaging through it, she starts being absolutely pouty and learns how to channel her angsty emotion into destructive power. Eventually she learns how to channel any emotion into destructive power and now she’s literally rewritten the story of Oz into a manual of her road to (re)power.
Battle Magician* > Dimension Witch > Metamorphy
*:Not to be confused with Battle Mage, which is Arme’s fourth job, but it’s pretty friggin’ close to it anyway so really what’s the difference
She decided that she really needs to get her stuff back. After discovering Elsword rummaging through it and looking through her Shoujou anime and manga, she decides to join him. Nothing like anime to de stress, right? Eventually like Elsword, she becomes suffused with the power of god and anime and is now literally a Madoka Shoujou, and also as overpowered.
-
Rena, the Ranger whom really likes her shape and really likes flaunting it. Even if she has a very close resemblance to a certain Eryuelian archer, the inhumanly oversized chest of abundance really points out a difference. And also her spine is really goddamn flexible like yeesh. (Also whoever shittalks me about Rena for describing her like this really needs to play her because unless you’re going Sniping path, you are getting a lot of skimpy wear)
She embarks on her journey to Elrios (Gee where had I heard of this before) and decides that if she were going to have to fight through demons, that she’d have to pick a specific school of combat to major in:
Combat Ranger > Wind Sneaker > Anemos
Rena decides that her diet will now be calcium and protein based, and her bones grow strong and her muscles bulge from the daily workout of a commando. Her kicks prove to be insanely painful and she performs backflips and soumersalts, and occasionally performs for the poor. She also communes with the wind elemental to give her feet their blessings, so she basically becomes someone that is definitely not from a certain anime named DGrayman.
Sniping Ranger > Grand Archer > Daybreak
Rena decides that her arrows were too blunt and she spends almost all of her free time fletching new, super sharp ones. Also she gets the wind elementals to bless them too. Coupled with her flexible spine, she is able to haul a rain of arrows to end people before they could even look up after being downed by her. It’s useful when you can turn things to your advantage.
Trapping Ranger > Night Watcher > Twilight
Rena decides it’s time she used that stolen blade she snuck out of the shrine because she’s secretly a kleptomaniac. The blade Eldrassil is also super magical and gives her the power of nature while simultaneously sap her positive, then negative emotions. Eventually she becomes Not Batman, wearing a hoodie and for some reason deciding only covering majority of her upper parts alone was good enough to carry on her edgy aura. She also comes with a free bowl of sass and a ton of cuts.
-
Raven, the Taker whom is apparently a man with a robot arm and what the hell does a Taker even mean anyway. Why are you an antagonist that dies super easily to an infinite stretch of combos that I juggle you with because you’re just that easy to lift. Obviously he’s edgy, and generally upset with himself, and constantly seeks redemption for deeds he could not control doing. Also the Nasods used him as a base to replicate more robots like him and honestly Rena, yeah I’m disturbed too.
He doesn’t do much, he just says he wants to atone and that he’s good with a sword and also his robot arm has some weird ways to turn energy into weird looking fire. When he is finally free from the mind control of capitalism, he decides that:
Sword Taker > Blade Master > Furious Blade*
*:Not to be confused with Unlimited Blade, which is apparently everyone’s 3MP attack
He hates being a robot and he hates his robotic arm with a passion. But not like, in the way where he’d rip his own Nasod arm off. Are you kidding? That thing has nerves in it. Now that he’s dedicated to destroying Nasod he starts wearing long sleeves and returning to his old self, which is apparently an emo man by first dyeing his hair fully black, and then keeping it down so that it almost always seems to obscure one eye. Yeah, very easy to kill things when you can’t see them too well, right? Also he gets a guy to rebuild his arm to look like his other one.
Over Taker (really?) > Reckless Fist > Rage Hearts* (?????)
*:Not to be confused with Burning Heart, which is one of Fake!Elesis’ 3rd job
He loves being a robot and he loves his robotic arm with a passion. But not like, in the way where he’d make love to his own Nasod arm anyway. Instead he focuses more on his burst potential. With his newfound fascination for pyrotechnics and white hair, he starts streaking his hair with white and also keeping it from his face for a grand total of one job before he feels the comforting embrace of his fringe between his eyes.
Weapon Taker (yeah, what else are you going to take next) > Veteran Commander > Nova Imperator*
*:I swear they’re just making things up by this point
He doesn’t really care honestly. But not like, in the way where he’d use both of them together in a combination way. He just uses other weapons now. He also has so much gratitude for Elsword and his team for saving him that he streaks his hair red now, instead of his white, and attaining maximum edge hairstyle. Also he likes looking very judgmental and upset about things.
-
Eve, the Another Code, whose introduction does not match the general sentence and has thusforth failed itself, is a Nasod. Elsword, you’re travelling with a Nasod, wake up your eyes. You’d think her slap would be good enough. But noooo, you had to give her feelings. YOU GAVE A ROBOT FEELINGS. THIS IS WHY SHE ENDS UP HAVING THESE THREE JOB PATHS:
Code: Exotic > Code: Nemesis > Code: Ultimate
Absolutely deciding that feelings is a very not okay thing in computation and artificial intelligence, she resolves to create the ability to wipe out all that stands in her way of her making her empire of Nasods. As such, she slaps that emotional circuitry out of her and starts developing the ability to make some additional machines to murderize both enemy robots and humans. And elves. But mostly robots apparently.
Code: Architect > Code: Empress > Code: Esencia
Absolutely deciding that feelings is a very okay and even important thing in computation and artificial intelligence, she decides to keep the emotional circuitry in herself. And because Elsword gave her feelings and then decide to watch anime instead of talking to her, she gets lonely. So she makes robots, and eventually after mingling with everyone she thinks that, well, maybe Nasods and humans can live together. And elves. But mostly humans apparently.
Code: Electra > Code: Battle Seraph > Code: Sariel
Absolutely unable to decide, her own emotional circuits start short circuiting and now she’s unable to control what she’s feeling, so she goes with the general method of ‘I’m a robot I can’t feel, hoooh’. Also the overloaded circuits start giving her power and pain, until it also short circuited her own pain circuits. In fact basically everything in her short circuits and she becomes a weapon herself to destroy both enemy robots and humans. And elves. But mostly elves apparently.
-
(Disclaimer: I played Chung for a grand total of 30 minutes)
Chung, the Guardian who apparently failed to guard his own city from demons. You had one job*. Also his surname is Seeker, and I’m almost sure that’s actually his job name in KR. You had one job. He has long hair, and in fact looks super androgynous, you could mistake him for a girl fairly easily. He’s also the heir of the throne. Like Ara. Like Lu. Like Eve. Boy, you are just one cog in a series of clockwork.
*:He actually has 3 job paths and 3 jobs in each so that’s actually 9 jobs, but details, details.
Eventually he runs into the El Search Party, whom apparently named themselves that because they’re the only goddamn people in the entire world of Elrios trying to save the entire world. Wow. Infatuated by a noble cause and in dire need for one himself because otherwise he’ll break down (and trust me you don’t want him to, his /cry is 13 seconds long), he joins in and decides to hone on his talent with a cannon on his back, or something else:
Fury Guardian > Iron Paladin > Comet Crusader
He loves his hair, he grows it longer like his cannon as he starts to make it stronger with little tinkering. He also loves shooting cannon balls and blowing things up. He ties it up in the end because the hair was getting so long it was starting to block his eyes (which miraculously affects his field of vision unlike every one else in this world). With the martial artist of Rena to help him, he swings that cannon round and round baby, round and round.
Shooting Guardian* > Deadly Chaser > Fatal Phantom
*:GEE WHAT ELSE IS NEW
He doesn’t like his hair, it reminds him of home, and probably the blood of several thousand citizens that he failed to save. So he cuts it, Mulan style, with his new weapon Go Go Geagles. Armed with two more pistols aside from his huge ass cannon he puts on his back, now he starts running around and yelling ‘FIRE’* so much you could swear he’s an audible fire alarm. In fact I’m almost pretty sure he hates fire and his cannon now too.
*: Actually I meant to put this link there but you get two links for the price of one!
Shelling Guardian > Tactical Trooper > Centurion
He likes his hair, but it could probably use a new addition. Flipping through some of Elsword’s (and Aisha’s as well, presumably) manga collection, he decided what he needs was some fox ears. So he asked Ara to see if Eun could bless him with some of her kitsune powers. So she did. Now he has fox ears. He also learns alchemy and ends up making his cannon less reliable, for more destructive purposes. Literally now his shots go everywhere. It’s almost like you don’t care to aim away from your new friends, Chung. Do you really want all of this to happen just because you want your fox ears?
-
Ara-Ain will all be on a later post because holy crap this is long

Summary: "Sounds to me like Chiro doesn't have a lotta friends. If I recall, they said that he keeps to himself. Doesn't sound like much of a life to me. I mean, if he's naturally introverted, then whatever." Otto swipes a hand through the air. "But I wanna make sure that he's not completely lonely. So… uh, can ya…?"
Jinmay laughs. "Of course, Otto. You don't even have to ask." She smiles at him. "You an' me… we'll be the best friends he's ever had.”
Otto beams.
Hi! I bring a new series, known as Carrington Industries. It's a Human AU that I'm having a lot of fun dabbling in, though not a lot has been written for it yet. It'll be kind of a post-as-I-write-it deal, so don't expect regular updates. (Sadly.) This first one deals with how everyone meets, and will probably be relatively short-but we'll see.
First Meetings
1. Otto Jinmay
"Just a few more adjustments…" Otto murmurs to the unresponsive android on his table. "And you'll be done."
The android is a round-face cherub of a girl; with soft pink hair pulled into white-tipped pigtails and long eyelashes brushing slightly flushed cheeks. A panel is open on her sternum, and Otto is wrist deep in circuitry, making a few fine-tunings before he could, at long last, awaken the creation he spent the last year on.
He wants to talk to her.
What would she be like? He left so many gaps in her personality programming, hoping to let her grow and develop on her own. He'd had to include a few things, of course—couldn't make her a completely blank slate, after all. But it had been just simple things. The basic rules of kindness, and compassion. A desire for friendship. And curiosity. Those things together would keep her, hopefully, from going rogue—and were good starting points for her to become.
Otto hums to himself.
The android had been built using parts recovered from Carrington Industries scrap heap. (The best find had been an android they'd thrown out. Poor thing had been an experimental prototype they'd made. It hadn't been able to differentiate friend from foe, or so the box it was in had said. Otto had salvaged quite a few parts from that, though he'd left the memory chip alone.) Jinmay, he calls her. A mash-up of Jenny and May, since he couldn't decide between the two.
He makes the final adjustment and carefully seals the panel. He pushes an arm under her shoulders and hefts her up. She's light, for a machine. He opens the panel in her back. He pushes the megawatt battery he'd salvaged from the faulty android into her back, and then flicks the switch. He seals the panel again, and carefully lays her down.
It will take some time for Jinmay's processors to finish booting up—initial start-up is always one of the hardest.
Booting.
Start up program: initialized.
Code rolls across her vision.
Uploading files.
Awareness. Her thoughts begin to come in words, instead of shaped in numbers and symbols. The numbers lurk at the edge of her awareness. She can feel them; making up the innermost parts of her consciousness. Her mind extends beyond its confines. She feels her fingers. Moves them experimentally. Wiggles her toes. Scrunches her nose.
Smells assault her senses. She searches her memory drives, and finds nothing to compare them to. She opens her eyes.
For a moment, all she can see was white. Her optics—her eyes—adjust to the brightness. Things take shape. The light fixture, capped in a circular dome. The square panels of the ceiling. She pushes herself into a sitting position.
"Hello, there."
She looks toward the voice.
A male. How many years has he seen? She has no comparison.
His skin is brown. His hair darker brown, and curled. His eyes are bright, vibrant green. He smiles at her; exposing shiny teeth. "My name is Otto," he says. "And your name is Jinmay."
Jinmay. She twirls the name through her thoughts, and decides she liked it.
"I built you. You're an android. You an' me? We're gonna be friends."
Jinmay—yes, yes, that's a good name—smiles. "I think I'd like that."
That was six years ago.
As Otto had promised, the two had become very good friends. Otto had been fourteen at the time—not part of any registered engineering group. His parents had taken his creation in stride; treating Jinmay just as they would any of Otto's other, human, friends. (Despite his personable attitude, Otto had few that he was close to.) It had been awkward, at first. Jinmay was… well. A robot. In every sense of the word.
But as time passed, she began to learn.
It began with clumsy emulation. Copying Otto's mannerisms, his speech patterns. He exposed her to television. Jinmay consumed all sorts of media. Horror. Comedy. Romance. Action. Adventure. Documentaries. Kids' films. News. Cooking. She watched them all raptly; sitting cross-legged with wide eyes. She developed preferences.
His mother liked plying her with new foods. Jinmay was the only person in the house she could rely on for accurate feedback. Her husband and son just smiled and told her it was good, even if it tasted terribly. Jinmay had no such qualms.
And then Otto began to take her out in public.
That was when everything changed.
Carrington Industries got word that a fifteen-year-old boy had managed to create a walking, talking android. Nothing like the droids they had built; this one had a tried and true personality. Their scientists and engineers went bonkers. They showed up at his home one afternoon with thousands of questions.
And then, they offered him a job.
They didn't ask him to recreate Jinmay. Which was good, because Otto wouldn't have done it. Jinmay was unique; one-of-a-kind.
Otto expected commissions. He got them, on occasion. But mostly? They paid him a stipend, which would contain bonuses when he brought them new inventions to sell. And Otto delivered.
Access to state of the art equipment; great minds; and almost limitless funding…
He flourished. By the age of 20, Otto was one of the richest inhabitants of Shuggazoom City…
Not that you would know that by looking at his apartment.
Jinmay cringes as she gingerly lifts a sock from the floor. "Otto."
"What?" Otto stumbles out of his room; hastily tugging a pair of pants over striped boxers.
"I told you to quit leaving your stinky socks all over the apartment!" she fumes.
"Oh, c'mon, Jin. They're not that bad," Otto says with a winning smile, taking the sock from her and lifting it to his nose. His eyes went cross-eyed. "Eugh. On second thought…"
Jinmay rolls her eyes. "At least you stopped leaving your underwear everywhere." She wrinkles her nose.
Otto laughs sheepishly, tossing the sock in the laundry room. "Heh, yeah..." He walks into the kitchen and grabs a cereal box. "Oh, hey. Somethin' I wanna talk to you about."
"What's up?" Jinmay seats herself on the counter and folds her hands primly in her lap. She watches him pour cereal in a bowl.
"You're familiar with Clayton Carrington, right?"
"Founder of Carrington Industries. One of the brightest and most brilliant men of our age. Had a silent partner no one's been able to uncover the identity of. Disappeared in mysterious circumstances, and was declared legally dead ten years ago—after he had been missing for nearly a year."
Otto sent her a smile, and retrieves the milk. He checks the expiration date, gives the milk an experimental sniff, and starts dumping it into the bowl. Jinmay makes a mental note to go grocery shopping tonight.
"Yep. In his will, though, he left the company to his nephew—Chiro Nieli. Split his fortune in half. Half went to the kid's parents—well, mother—and the other half into a trust that only Chiro can access, and even then, only once he was eighteen. The money in the trust has increments that are paid out. Enough to fund schooling at a very prestigious school."
"What's any of that got to do with anything?" Jinmay asks.
"Right. Well, Chiro's fifteen now, and the heads think it's time to start grooming him to take over the company. But, uh. The kid has pretty much lived in obscurity for most of his life, so he's unfamiliar with all of this. I volunteered to let 'im stay with us—because honestly can you imagine 'im staying with the others?" Otto scoffs. "And, uh, then the others were all like 'that's great, we were hoping you'd volunteer' and… well. See, part of the reason they hired me five years ago was because they had plans for you. Specifically… making you Chiro's super kick-butt bodyguard."
Jinmay raises her eyebrows. "That's why they insisted on all that combat training, and for you not to upgrade my appearance?"
"Yup." Otto popped the 'p'. "I told 'em I'd make sure you were cool with it before I went and did anything hasty. So, whaddya think?"
Jinmay considers. It doesn't take long. "I'm game."
Otto grins. "Thought ya would be. I gotta personal request to make though."
"Shoot."
"Sounds to me like Chiro doesn't have a lotta friends.
"You an' me… we'll be the best friends he's ever had."
Otto beams.
