I can't even tell what it's supposed to BE. But if it is 8, this is just such a baffling choice as the reveal trailer for the next entry in the MAIN series after the intrigue set up by the teaser. Well, if nothing else, this trailer sure was... revealing...

There is the apparent Microsoft exclusivity, of course, but I don't quite know what to make of it, since Xbox promotional material for RGG historically never mentions competing platforms like PlayStation anyway even if they're available on all platforms.

The tagline does scream sidegame though right like it sounds like a casual business sim or something.. and Yokoyama mentioned 8 wouldn't have a tagline in Japan on purpose... but this is the English trailer, and there's no JP buzz around the release at all so far that I've seen (granted, the trailer dropped at like, 3 a.m. JST)... okay so i was rewatching the kill counts for happy death day + happy death day 2u because i think it’s a really good series and i LOVE time loop scenarios, so my question for you is… what would it be like if chrysijacks were in that situation? where one of them is constantly getting killed and waking up after they die to relive the same day + the other one is trying to help get them out of it while also having to be reminded of the whole time loop thing every time it’s reset? i hope this makes sense <3 (also i’m sorry you’ve been feeling sad— this month has been rough for me too so ik how it feels but just know i’m here for you, and at the very least i hope you can find some comfort in the fact that you’re not alone in feeling this way 🫂)

i feel like jacks is theee perfect person to be in tree’s shoes, since he’s also a supposedly shallow blonde that’s trying to run from his grief in his past 🫶🏻 it adds to the fun once i add the layer of chrysi being his ex-friend from childhood & he keeps resetting in her room.. first time he wakes up, he’s like “whoaaaaa, crazy night last night… MY FUCKING CHILDHOOD BEST FRIEND????”

but then after that, there’s the added depth of jacks trying to mend their damaged relationship while also trying to stop himself from dying over and over and over again. it’s fun to imagine him trying to apologize and heal the hurts he caused all in one day OVER AND OVER AGAIN. obvi chrysi’s skeptical. lots of mean & funny dialogue here.

but!!! they were still childhood friends!!! chrysi will believe jacks if he tells her that he’s trapped in a time loop. she’ll help you, but it’s not like she’ll be HAPPY abt it :|| jacks is not sure how he feels abt this.

when chrysi dies in one of the time loops, jacks is SO quick to let himself die too. doesn’t matter if his body is slowly degrading with each loop… doesn’t matter if he wound up in the hospital literally that morning from all his previous deaths… he WILL NOT live without his childhood best friend. next morning, he immediately pulls her into a hug and she’s like “?!?!?!?!?!????!?!?!!?!!!!!” but, i mean, hey, it helps him prove he still cares abt her.. sobsob. they end up dating after all that :>

for happy death day 2 u, it would b really funny for jacks to get beamed into what he considers an alt reality, but rlly.. it’s jst a normal modern universe where chrysi and azure are dating. nobody told you?? they’re literally soulmates?? it’s not a fucked up alt reality, ummm. this is part of the universe’s big plan. sorry, man. i KNOW he’s screaming and crying and throwing up rn.

YOU. tell me the most scary gillvash moment, where they were terrified they were going to lose each other. why’s THAT the moment that sticks out to you? what makes it more dire than any other moment? is it THE climax or is it jst another moment of drama??

ALRIGHT HERE WE GO BBY ! There's two that come to mind right away, each with the other feeling the HORROR of thinking that like the person they adore might not have made it lol

First, it is after a climax, it's spoilers for episode 12 of season 1 of T.rigun S.tampede and I'm going to try to be kinda vague to not spoil the show. Anyway it's like, Vash has just had his boss battle versus Knives, and in the destruction that fight left his friends aren't sure if he survived. When Gill saw Vash seemingly about to basically sacrifice himself she SCREAMED; the most fucking throat tearing guttural sob of just his name and Wolfwood had to hold her back from trying SOMEHOW and SOMEWAY to help him. Then after that fight she REFUSES to believe he hadn't survived, she is immediately searching for him. She is frantic, and she insists she knows he's alive, she can just feel it that's he's alive, while her breathing is erratic and her eyes are wide; when their friends start to believe he can't be found, she continues to search for hours upon hours. Then she finally, finally, finds him, injured and unconscious, but alive. She kneels at his head and holds him and just sobs from relief. It's like, she's seen him get hurt many times, but it's the first time to the pit of her stomach she worried he might not survive. Her belief in Vash the Stampede is unshakable, but she'd never been scared for him like that. She's just glad he's good.

Later in the Canon, I imagine another scene. The reveal that Gill is a plant involves fighting Knives. The team like finds him somewhere, and basically Gill tries fighting him and he just like grabs her in his knife appendages and lifts her into the air. He remarks how soft Vash is and how he seems to have not an insignificant amount of weakness is centered on this girl, "just look at your face right now. Are you that invested in someone this insignificant, Vash?" And he knows she's a plant and he would like her involved in his plan, but if she is insisting on interfering and disrupting his ability to get at and have Vash in his plans, then she's simply nothing more than an inconvenience to get rid of. He slices her body to ribbons. His blades constrict and slash everywhere surrounding her where they are holding her. Vash watches her fall to a bloody pile on the ground. She's not moving, and there's blood pooling everywhere fast all around her. He's scared. He can't stop staring at her form laying on the dark floor. He screams, and he screams at Knives, they argue and begin fighting. He's just got a roaring in his mind and he's caught between glancing at her and not wanting to look because she hasn't moved but he can't believe she hadn't survived. Then basically, she faintly hears Vash fighting, and she unconsciously uses her plant abilities. She weakly says for Knives to stop. The fighting stops as they turn to her, Knives surprised and Vash frozen. She starts to stand, telling Knives to stop again, and to not hurt him. Her body begins to glow with plant markings. Her wounds seal. She's a plant. It's obvious to everyone, as obvious as the sand inhabiting the desert. Then she like fights Knives, he leaves. But then Vash is relieved, but he's confused. Then he sees the absolute confusion, no deeper, the pure panic in her eyes as her whole identity is shattered and memories are returning and she can't see them fully because she's seeing memories breaking into her present, and babbling names and places that aren't near them and she can't recognize or understand what's real and where she is currently. He WANTS to help her but FUCK what can he DO right then? She's obviously panicking in confusion, but he can't think of anything to help her. Then, Lyric appears. He grabs Gill, and Vash raises his gun, but Lyric says only he can save Gill from her memories as she SCREAMS. Her fear just gores his chest it feels like, and he's afraid. He's afraid he can't help her, and he won't just let Lyric take her but what if there isn't a way they can save her themselves. Lyric holds her in his arms princess style while Vash feels just helpless. Then he takes her. And he's afraid he failed her and won't be able to reconcile that mistake. It's the initial fear of thinking his own brother murdered his best friend and then the fear that he's going to let her slip from his grasp as Lyric told them he's going to wash away her memories and make her not the Gillisn they've known again.

cleaning closet make out sessions!!! i love how tris and chrysi are both trying so hard not to laugh (nervously on tris’s part, and from pure thrill on chrysi’s part) that their kisses are more of laughing against each other’s mouths while they embrace each other… much nicer than going to honors pre-calc, am i right?

THEIR PROM NIGHT. THEY DROVE THREE HOURS TO GO TO AN ARCADE IN ANOTHER CITY PURELY BECAUSE TRIS MENTIONED IT ON A WHIM AND CHRYSI WAS LIKE “honestly, it sounds more fun than this” AND THEY WERE OUT ALL NIGHT DRIVING TO THE ARCADE AND THEN BACK!!!! they’re in their fancy prom outfits and chrysi’s winning tris all the little stuffed animals from those claw machines and they stop at a 24-hr diner on their way back…. it makes me so happy-sad. they had so much fun on their prom night. (tris still has the photos they took in the photo booth that night and he cries whenever he sees them) ((chrysi does too.))

such a silly little moment, but i think it’s one tris values deeply, but tris once got into an argument regarding scooby doo lore with a friend and he called chrysi to get her input and SHE BACKED HIM UP!!! AND SHE HAD PROOF DOWN TO THE TIMESTAMP!!!! that was a true love moment for tris, for SURE.

post-reunion, where tris gets possessed and chrysi saves him + once he wakes up, she’s hovering over him with her hand on his forehead and she’s looking soso worried… but when she notices he’s awake, she forces a smile and goes, “welcome back to the land of the living, pretty boy” GOD. SHE CARES ABOUT HIM SO MUCH.

SPEAKING OF POST-REUNION DATING, OMG??? THEIR HALLOWEEN PARTY??? tris knows all about chrysi’s Thing where she has to go as something that she Is for halloween (and he knows it’s bc of that one episode of buffy the vampire slayer, bc of course he does!!! tris knows so much abt chrysi), so he dresses up as someone from the marching band BECAUSE HE KNOWS SHE’LL DRESS UP AS A CHEERLEADER…! and she does!!!! and when she sees him dressed up as a marching band player, she’s jst like <3333… he remembered her Thing !!!!! he loves her so much.

also later in said halloween party, he finds her locked up in a trunk, unconscious and bleeding, and he’s so distressed that he accidentally shatters a mirror with his magic (that he doesn’t know he has). that’s a fun little scene :)also proof of how chrysi is literally incapable of taking halloween off bc she always ends up getting roped into something supernatural anyway. work will follow her around every single time.

this is the beginning of tris realizing that dating chrysi means that he has to learn how to cope with the dangers of supernatural business + how it’ll affect chrysi. so that is less smiley face, i guess.

this is specific to my fear street au, but trysi laying together in bed and holding each other while listening to a mix tape tris made…. oughhh…..

TRIS MAKES CHRYSI SO MANY PLAYLISTS AND MIXTAPES AND CDS BECAUSE HE LISTENS TO SO MUCH MUSIC AND HE KNOWS CHRYSI APPRECIATES IT. AUGGHHH!!!!

ummm, reunion specific trysi scene that’s not officially them dating, but tris comes back to salem and is lamenting how it’s become even more tourist-town-ish since he’s been absent, and chrysi’s behind him like, “god, yeah, doesn’t it suck? it’s worse bc of those stupid ghost rumors” AND TRIS STILL HASN’T LOOKED OVER TO SEE IT’S CHRYSI, SO HE’S AGREEING W/ HER AND HAVING A CONVO WITH HER, THEN TURNS AND SCREAMS WHEN HE REALIZES IT’S CHRYSI. btw, his bandmates are there and they’re so interested in this random girl that’s very very pretty and seems to be cool with tris. imagine being them and realizing that this is the girl that inspired 98.79% of tris’s songs (suddenly, they all understand why that’s the case… they also would never get over chrysi if they had gotten the chance to date her in high school).
