The dynamics in this au would be so ripe for analyzing like amplifying how parentized and in charge of Ashley, Andrew was, by straight up making him her parent is !!!!

But now I'm just thinking about Julia who obviously didn't want to get pregnant as a teenager and probably had to drop out of school, to see her life irreparably bounded to a child she didn't plan on having, with a boyfriend she doesn't feel fully secure on her relationship with

And I think Julia would want to be, to the best of her possibilities, a good mother but she's still a depressed and deeply insecure teenager who doesn't know what the hell she's doing and probably does resent her situation quite a bit

And Ashley on the other hand would resent both of her parents quite a lot, while also longing and being incredibly desperate for their love and attention and approval, and they would for sure try to give it to her but to varying degrees of success I think

Honestly it’s a 9/10 only cause I’m not good with p^ke or those scenes (after you watch the Mötley Crüe biopic ‘the dirt’ with your parents they just get worse to sit through and I’m already so asexual it’s tragic)

Re the previous post, while it's a touching scene for sure, the part at the end of s3 when quentin tells his dad he's off to try to bring back magic and likely won't come back (due to spending the rest of his life in monster jail) actually drives me nuts. the part where he tells his dad about the mosaic, "I lived a whole life," and then says "what was all that for if not for this?" drives me around the bend because because because. You have missed the whole point Quentin! The beauty of all life Quentin! Even ignoring the queliot of it all, you had a wife and a kid and a whole life and you think it's only worth was to make it easier for you to give away the life you have now? there's a Lois McMaster Bujold line about people getting hypnotized by the hard choices sometimes, like whatever the hardest thing is, that must be the right one to do, regardless of all other context. What is the value of bringing back magic, to Quentin? What makes the sacrifice of himself and his father worth it? And in s4, when it doesn't go as planned because of the library and he clearly feels that it was wasn't worth it... Julia is content with her sacrifice, Quentin is not. And I don't think he would be even once the library was gone, because whatever he thought the quest was going to make him, it turned into just another secret door to run through and be disappointed when he found himself on the other side.

OK this turned out way longer than I intended. I NEVER know what to write about with things like this so this is a nice change LMAO and this is just like all fluff. Anyway here's some ramblings:

I feel like it was something that just happened between them. No big discussion no big reveal to each other, they spent most of their time together already and as time went on they just kept getting closer and closer. Despite how loud Chase can be I've always felt a lot of it is shown in the little things for both of them, walking so close their sides bump into each others, pinkies intertwined, small gestures they do without even thinking like getting something for the other without being asked or running ahead to open the door first for the other, a reassuring "I've got your back" that can always be followed up with a confident "I know.".

But I also think a lot of the relationships dynamic stays the same honestly, they still just call each other their partner, it works for both work and life, they still treat each other like besties most the time, they still bicker from time to time, but now there are moments in between, softer moments, loving moments, and often times a room they both can return to together.

Of course Chase can still be loud in other ways, he's more for physical touch, he likes to kiss her and pick her up, he hypes her up to others cause he wants you to know as much as he does how brilliant she is. He loves to listen to Julia talk now, and traveling to new locations all the time he can easily nonchalantly ask about something that will get her talking for a good while. Julia can tell he's listening now.

I think Julia likes to drop subtle compliments to him and the like here and there throughout the day and give him a sly little smile and wink. If he goddamn slows down enough she'll pick out a place for lunch while they're traveling where they can each get a separate dish to share and try new foods, and just talk about whatever also ensures that Chase remembers to eat at least one decent meal haHA tricked into being healthier-. She likes to listen to him too, even if he's rambling about nonsense half the time.

Honestly just. Romantic or not I think they would both move the world for each other. And then they fist bump
