Five songs that remind you of your muse

Rät by Penelope Scott
I studied code because I wanted To do something great like you And the real tragedy is half of it was true I bit the apple 'cuz I loved you And why would you lie And then I realized You're just as naive as I am You're so traumatized it makes me wanna cry
Now this applies to how Jacqueline looked up to Jack as she grew up. Her interest in coding and engineering was something she used to be close with him. She wanted to be like him and she trusted he wouldn't lead her astray. As she realizes his been manipulating her and other she began to feel used by him for her skills.
Ain't No Crying by Derivkat
What am I fighting for? Whose side am I on? Lost everything in the crossfire Witness the wreckage at dawn Say it enough and you start believing They can tell you that it's righteous Keep your chin up in the crisis Say it enough and you start believing In the glory, in the justice They will drill it into your head Ain't no crying 'til the war's done Ain't no crying 'cause the fighting's just begun No crying 'til the sun comes 'Til the sun comes up, 'til the sun comes up
WHERE YOU BELONG by Matt Hansen
Did someone you know ever turn on a dime From an angel right into a monster? You still wanna stay, wanna help, wanna heal Only so much that your love can offer
Why did I try for as long as I did? Back on the ropes when I knew I should quit Where do I run? 'Cause I've got no more blood left to bleed
I gotta put you behind me With all the pain that you caused I barely made it out fighting You drained all the life from my love Sometimes in moments of weakness I want you back in my arms But all of the bruises remind me The past is where you belong
The Man by Taylor Swift
I would be complex I would be cool They'd say I played the field before I found someone to commit to And that would be ok For me to do Every conquest I had made would make me more of a boss to you
I'd be a fearless leader I'd be an alpha type When everyone believes ya What's that like?
I'm so sick of running as fast as I can Wondering if I'd get there quicker If I was a man And I'm so sick of them coming at me again 'Cause if I was a man Then I'd be the man I'd be the man I'd be the man
In the Stars by Benson Boone
I'm screamin' at a God, I don't know if I believe in 'Cause I don't know what else I can do
I'm still holdin' on to everything that's dead and gone I don't wanna say goodbye, 'cause this one means forever Now you're in the stars and six-feet's never felt so far Here I am alone between the heavens and the embers
Oh, it hurts so hard For a million different reasons You took the best of my heart And left the rest in pieces

GAME REVIEW: LOST EMBER
youtube
SPOILER FREE REVIEW OF LOST EMBER!
I grabbed Lost Ember after it was recommended by a friend and devoured the game in a mere 3 hours. A lower time slot than sites like HowLongToBeat clock the game in as. If that doesn’t tell you what I think of the game, then let's elaborate a bit more.
Lost Ember is a third person narrative game that follows two companions as they discover the history of a fallen world. The game is linear. Meaning that exploration outside of the main storyline is very limited which is a bit of a shame for those looking to really explore the wilderness. However, despite this the world still seems full as you bounce from one memory to another. It embraces many viewpoints through the eyes of a wolf with the ability to inhabit other animals and a Yanren spirit who hopes to find his way to the City of Light. With these two, we discover the story of Kalani and follow her through her memories of the Yanren Society before its fall. With beautiful graphics and a soundtrack that fits the tone, it was overall a very positive experience for me.
As someone with limited time, I found this game to be just the right fit for my days off. I personally didn’t invest time into finding all of the different relics and inhabiting all of the animals. Simply enjoying the story was enough for me to feel that the game was a positive experience. If you are someone who likes to spend hours completing a game to 100% or exploring every nook and cranny; this game may come off as short with not enough to do. Those that want something with more challenge in the form of puzzles, combat, or anything else will also find this game lacking. Since these are things that the game does not have.
Overall, I would recommend this to someone who needs something simple that doesn’t take up a lot of your time IF you do not mind a bittersweet story that will likely make you tear up by the end.

What video game character are you?
Kalani (lost ember)
Oh, you've lost so much. A long time ago you lost everything you've ever loved, and it destroyed you, didn't it? And then you slowly picked up the pieces, you thought you had a hold of things and that you could breathe again, but then you lost something, or someone, again. It felt like your world had just caved in. You couldn't breathe, you felt crushed and trapped and your grief stained everything around you a dull grey until it blurred in front of your eyes. And there's someone who doesn't understand your pain, standing over you and talking over your cries because they can't understand. They don't know your pain. They can't possibly know how heavy and broken your heart feels. They never loved like you've loved, so recklessly and so wildly. You dove so deep and it broke you. And you took a second dive, and now you're staring at the wreckage wondering if this is all your fault somehow. You feel destroyed. You feel lost. Angry. You see everything in red and you just want to scream but all the air in your lungs is suddenly gone and all you can do now is hang your head and weep.
I'm sorry. There are no words that can comfort this kind of pain, this kind of grief. It's something you have to live with. You hold it inside of your chest and try to not let it drown you in its depth, you just have to act ok. You say you'll never love again, never trust again, that you're done trying over and over and ending up in ruins.
And I'm sorry, that this has destroyed you. There is nothing I can tell you that will make it better, that could possibly help and ease the weight of this. But maybe...maybe one day, someone will looks at you, and say something, and remind you that you deserve to be loved. The pain will never leave, not really, but one day you can wake up and live with it and it won't make you want to lay in bed all day.

So I just finished playing Lost Ember.........
And it slaps okay!?!
But be warned, it’s not for the faint of heart. If you can’t take angst, don’t watch play through or play this game.
It’s gorgeous and beautiful and stunning, but sooooo sad.
Did I mention it has a lesbian couple in it!?
I NEED FANART PEOPLE. WTF!?
The couple’s names are Kalani and Wayla. We need to make a ship name. Come on tumblr. I know you. You do these things.
Tumblr media
I enhanced the image so you can see them better. But those are my two girls. Kalani is on the left and Wayla is on the right.
And you bet your ass I’m loving Kalani’s butch style!!

What Video Game Character Are You?
Riley
Sonic The Hedgehog
You've left so much behind. You've run until your feet bleed, you've run until you hit a dead end and now you're asking the emptiness "what is there now?" and then you turn around and run from the answer. You don't want to hear it. You don't want to stop running, because you're terrified of feeling trapped. Pushing others away is all you know how to do. Running away is your go to plan, and you create a life inside your head so you can pretend that you're not as alone as you really are. You pretend strangers are friends you've not seen for a while. You talk to yourself and leave yourself cutesy notes because you've got no one else to leave them for you. You can't stop running, because then you'll be stuck, right? You're not enough so you can't stay long enough for them to see the cracks and faults, right? It's not true. If you stop running, and stay still - just for a moment - you'll see a world that moves slowly. You'll see love, hope, you'll see fireflies floating out of the grass and hear birds singing of time passing by. Standing still isn't a death sentence. It's not. Maybe one day you'll realize this, and one day you'll realize that you are enough and that your faults don't keep you from being loved. One day you'll slow down. And one day you can rest those restless feet, and stand still.
Marcy
Link (Zelda, any game)
You feel as if you're not your own person. Like you're just ghosting through the day, not really living. You repeat every day. The same thing over and over again until you're sick of it all. You need change. You long for it in the same way the moon longs for the sun. You want it so bad you go looking for it, you try and try but always you fall back into the same patterns and same routine. You feel like a puppet of someone else. Forced back into the same life every time you reset. You feel trapped, I hear you. Try changing little things - the place you eat at, a place you shop at, the route you use to go home or to work. Maybe take a long vacation, or a break from what you normally do. Its ok to have a routine, its ok to have patterns of behavior, but yes, sometimes people need a change of scenery while finding it hard to go through with that.

#gallery-0-9 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-9 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-0-9 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-9 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
#gallery-0-10 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-10 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 20%; } #gallery-0-10 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-10 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
youtube
Conclusion

Lost Ember was such a beautiful game. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t cry at the end and at several moments throughout.
Thank you, Mooneye, for the beautiful and comforting atmosphere this game has. Thank you for making the main character a lesbian. Thank you for making me cry. I loved it.
My only qualm is that I didn’t get to see Kalani and Wayla together again at the end. I was also left with a question and I need help answering it: Was Wolf the baby wolf or was it actually Kalani? Just a little unsure.
72/10 would play for the rest of my life because I’ve never seen a game so beautiful with a storyline that touched me so deeply.
