Normality [part 1]
Sypnosis:
How it's like living in a SAGAU cult Teyvat without getting hunted or declared the creator.
Warning:
Y/n is not mentally okay and needs therapy, angst?
— [More under the cut] —
You rest your head lazily on the counter, the rice cake soup you ordered has long been finished yet you can't find the strength to stand up and leave.
“Mr/Ms Y/n, it's time to leave.”
A familiar voice speaks but you make no effort to face her.
“5 more minutes.”
A sigh escapes from their lips as she softly runs her finger through your hair.
“Y/n, i know it's hard for you but the decree is for your own good.”
A self deprecating scoff escapes your lips as you lift your head up and look at her with defeated eyes.
“For my own good? This… stupid decree did nothing but cage me in the Tenshukaku. Doing nothing after a bunch of nothing, i feel like i'm losing my mind every second i spend there.”
You run your hands through your face, a heavy feeling descending on your body.
“Miyuki i–i don't want to go back. Can we stay here for a bit… please?”
Seeing your distress Miyuki decided to postpone your retrieval, motioning for the soldiers nearby to stand in wait.
Things haven't always been like this, life after your arrival here hasn't been good but at least it wasn't bad, at least this bad.
The existence of other people who look like you in this SAGAU world meant you didn't get hunted, instead people saw you as a blessed person given the looks of the creator.
This brought it's pros and cons but through sheer determination, luck, and pride you didn't end up like the others and actually managed to live independently by yourself.
You were proud of what you had, finally in your dull life you have managed to achieve something with your own two hands. Yes you live in a small apartment and work as a simple assistant cook of Kiminami restaurant but it was fine, the world looks more colorful and you couldn't wait to see how better things would go.
.
.
.
A few months ago nobody knew why but many of your look-alikes kept disappearing, never to be seen again.
This threw the world into chaos as they tried to find the culprits while more and more of them disappeared. The Raiden Shogun even declared that all people blessed with the image of the creator must be kept in the Tenshukaku to be guarded and protected.
The air is thick with constant tension at the Tenshukaku, especially for you and your buddies, some couldn't take it and dealt with themselves or fled the Tenshukaku to hide in the wilderness, never to be heard from again as far as you know.
That's why you're here today, hunched over a stool in Kiminami restaurant, desperate to experience even a hint of normalcy you once had.
You probably gave the shrine maiden assigned to you, Kuki Miyuki, a heart attack with your "escape" but you're not dumb enough to follow the others towards certain doom.
As Miyuki guided you back towards the Tenshukaku, surrounded by soldiers and curious passerbys you couldn't help but wish for the normalcy you once had.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
To My Sweetheart,
Happy Valentine’s Day, honey!
I’m so incredibly sorry that I can’t spend the whole day with you. The Kamisatos have tasked me with delivering some things around Inazuma to some friends and business partners of theirs. Ayato said it’s to keep up business relationships. But you and I both know that the people of Inazuma won’t see it that way. I can already hear the gossiping citizens following after the two siblings when they go into town.
But, the good news is that you’ll have me all to yourself when I get off from work!
I was thinking we could get dressed up and head out to a nice restaurant. Maybe Kiminami Restaurant? I heard they have a sweet deal for couples for Valentine’s. Or maybe you’d like to go to Komore Teahouse…? I don’t mind sticking with something familiar, but I just want to do something different for today. But don’t worry. Whatever you choose, I don’t mind! I just want to make you feel special, baby.
And, I heard Naganohara Fireworks was doing a special light show for tonight. I was thinking that after dinner, we could take a nice stroll through town. We could watch all the beautiful lights and fireworks! Though, I don’t think their beauty could ever compare to yours.
Again, I do hope you’ll forgive me for not being there for the whole day. Please take care of yourself while I’m gone. We’ll definitely talk more when I get home and decide what’s best, okay?
See you later tonight, babe.
Sincerely yours,
Thoma
Tumblr media
My Darling,
I write to you to apologize. It seems that there was an oversight and I was scheduled to have a meeting with some business partners today. Trust me, darling, this is as frustrating to me as it is to you. I had specifically cleared my schedule of all work and meetings for this day, and yet I still managed to forget something. Please accept my sincere apology.
Fortunately, it is only one meeting. One surely long, very boring, and pointless meeting. Ugh. I swear, these business officials get something out of ruining my days. As I’m writing this, I already feel a headache coming on.
I should be out by the time it is midday. By then, I’ll fetch you from our chambers myself. It’s not… necessary, per se, for you to be dressed by then. You know I’m more than happy to help you get dressed for the day. I actually have a few items I’d like you to try on, but that can wait for a later time.
I was thinking we could go for a nice stroll on the trail behind the estate, or maybe even venture into Chinju Forest? I know it’s a little spooky, but I think it would be quite tranquil. And, I wanted to bring along a nice picnic for us. We never get to sit down and enjoy our time together, do we?
That’s all I had planned for this special day, but I’m more than willing for other suggestions. You are my heart, my love, and my life. Wherever you want to go to, or whatever you want to do, I will follow wholeheartedly and without question.
Forever yours,
Ayato Kamisato
Tumblr media
Hey Babe,
There’s some trouble in the Akademiya and I’ve been called in to handle the situation. Can’t give you many details right now, the situation is still happening as I write. All I know is that there’s some senseless argument between some scholars. Again.
I should be back by supper time, at least. Please be ready by the time I’m back. We have a reservation at Lambad’s Tavern that I’d rather not be late to.
I know I seem curt and cold in this letter, but please understand that my anger is not directed at you. I had a very romantic morning planned for us where I could wake you up with your favorite breakfast. I was going to show you a photo album I had made of us, but sadly I cannot be there to witness your reactions. It’s on my bedside table, the book with a red leather cover. I know it’s not too thick, but I promise you that by next year it will have tripled in volume with the amount of memories we will have made.
I love you with every fiber of my being. I love how your reactions to my jokes, as it always encourages me to find even more. I actually have a few for you that I made myself, but they can wait for our dinner.
Happy Valentine’s Day, babe.
Sincerely,
Cyno
Tumblr media
Dear Love,
You know that I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day. To me, it’s all a bunch of marketing and advertising for some pointless and ingenuine romance. The holiday itself leaves a sour taste in my mouth, like some of the cheaper chocolates you get on this stupid holiday. However, after a change of heart, I think I can tolerate this holiday in honor of you, my love.
We both know that I’m not a huge romantic. Despite being a scholar and the Scribe for the Akademiya, words seem to fail me. I don’t know how to compliment you like a flowery poet or bard. Giving compliments and praise is a new experience for me, so please be patient with me. Though, I know you find it amusing when I turn cherry red as I try to maintain eye contact and compliment you. Which is very difficult, by the way.
However, I’m better with actions. Which is why you’ll find yourself alone this morning, as I’ve left a trail of sentimental clues for you to follow. At the end of memory lane, you’ll find me, your beloved. Not an exciting prize, I know, but I thought that it could be a fun experience for you.
Happy Valentine’s Day, my love. I hope you have fun, and I hope to see you soon.
Forever and always yours,
Haitham
Tumblr media
Good morning, my sunshine!
So, there’s a slight change of plans for the day.
I know we wanted to spend the day together in each other’s embrace, doing a lot of lovey dovey and coupley stuff. But, due to some faulty fireworks, I’ve gotta be in the firework shop trying to fix it. I think my dad accidentally spilt something over them, but I’m not sure yet.
But, that doesn’t mean the day is totally ruined! I was thinking that sometime in the midday you could come over? That way we could at least grab some lunch and still have some romance! Or maybe we could do some shopping? I saw this really cute set of matching bracelets the other day and immediately thought of us. Only if you want to, of course! I’m fine with whatever you want to do!
Listen, I know it doesn’t make up for the disappointment. If it means anything, I’m pretty sad that I can’t spend the whole day with you too. I just wanted to spend the whole morning cuddling with you! And then we could have made breakfast together. I bought some cute aprons and everything! Ugh, silly fireworks…
Anyway, I hope to see you on my break, sunshine. I’m more than willing to do anything to make it up to you, so feel free to suggest something else we can do! Within reason of course. My dad’s hard of hearing, but not deaf, hun.
Hugs and kisses,
Yoimiya
P.S. - I love you!
Tumblr media
To My Darling Dearest,
I screwed up.
I know today we had big plans to bask in the romantic and lovey dovey atmosphere, both of us making sure we have the day off to celebrate. I even got you a lovely gift and flowers and— ugh, I’m sorry, my love.
Something came up with work, as always. I can’t say much now, given the nature of my work, but I will let you know that there’s been a major break in our case. My informants and I think we’ll be able to gather enough evidence on our current “client” whilst he’s out with his sweetheart. It’s a long shot, for sure, but I’ll pull it off. I always do, love.
But in regards to our romantic day together, do you think we could reschedule? I know that this is very upsetting— or it is to me, at least— so I understand if you’re frustrated with me. I just ask you that your anger doesn’t sour and turn into resentment against me. Please understand that I love you more than my work itself. Coming home to you is a home in itself, your sweet greeting and soft kisses being the welcome mat. I’ve never felt more comfortable than I am with you, whether it be cuddling in bed or simply cooking together in the kitchen. I love you oh so much, my darling dearest. Please don’t ever forget that.
So, I ask you to think of ways for me to redeem myself. I’ll do nearly anything for you dear… alright?
Yours forever,
Yelan
Tumblr media
Hey cutie,
You may have noticed that I’m not by your side this morning.
But don’t panic, I’m alright. The knights didn’t schedule me for patrol or anything else like that. I’m just in the library for this morning, as I was asked to cover a shift at the last minute. Ugh. The things I do for these people…
In better news, I’m actually preparing your Valentine’s day gift as you read this. Now, now, don’t get too excited. It’s not as extravagant or wonderful as you imagine, but it is something simple yet heartfelt. Nothing as lovely as your gift to me, I imagine. You did get me a gift, right…?
No bother. Gift or no gift, I love you regardless, cutie. You’re one of the most interesting people I’ve met throughout my life, adding a new flavor to my life amongst stern knights and boring scholars. You always know how to console me after a crappy day at work, and I am forever grateful for that. When you help me with work, even the small things like book returns, it makes me fall in love with you all over again. My special little helper, haha.
I’ll drop by the house by midday. If you wouldn’t mind preparing some food, I would love to take you out for a picnic. I always find the cliffs around Mondstadt to be especially romantic. And, more importantly, scheduled.
I’ll see you later today, love.
Xoxo,
Lisa
Tumblr media
To My Love,
I’m writing to you because I am worried.
This is my first Valentine’s with a partner. You already are familiar with my… lack of experience, when it comes to romance. Even when I suppress my stronger urges— the other ones, dear— thinking about you can make my passive and docile personality break. Cloud Retainer teases me that I turn pink and “smile like an idiot in love.” I think she’s just jealous.
But to keep on topic, I’m worried that I’ll ruin this romantic day for us. I know we made plans to do some hiking around the cliffs of Liyue and then have a picnic, but do you want that? You already know that I find traditional romantic traditions on this day strange, but I never thought to ask you if you wanted to do that instead.
I really appreciate you being understanding and accommodating to me, but I want to give you something too. So, I was thinking that we could just walk down to the streets of Liyue and… do some shopping, maybe? Last time I was there, I saw some nice jewelry that would look really pretty on you. Oh, and there were some nice smelling pastries in the shop one over! You’re sweet and you like sweet things, right? Maybe we should go get some goodies and candies instead of eating the herb-central dishes I made for the picnic…
We’ll talk more once we see each other. But I want to do something you want to do, too. Not just because I wanted to, but because it was your idea. I really value your opinion and suggestions, darling. So don’t hold back, alright?
Your love,
Shenhe

when they have a plus size s/o pt. 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
where Heizou falls in love with your brain and Tighnari can't seem to get enough of you. tags: plus size, fluff, hurt/comfort, insecure reader, jealousy, not beta read pronouns: they/them once in Tighnari's, 3rd person characters: Shikanoin Heizou, Tighnari (separate)

Tumblr media
~you braved the storm, welcome to Inazuma~
Heizou: where the flirtatious detective proves his love beyond a reasonable doubt. Heizou is a known flirt, but with you it is different. You work with him on a case and you expect it to end there, but he keeps coming to your work and even gets jealous and protective of you.
Total words: 1011
Heizou is known to flirt with people in order to achieve his ends and you figured it was the same for his flirting with you
You agree to help him with a case and expect him to disappear once the case is solved, but he keeps coming around
He is intrigued by you and your ability to see through lies
He falls in love with your mind and intellect before your body
He does not see why you would be insecure, he adores you
Once you start dating, he loves to initiate PDA, much to your dismay
Loves embarrassing you, he lives for reactions
When you first came to Inazuma City, you wandered a bit before finding a home at the restaurant by a big sakura tree. Kiminami restaurant was known for its strange pizza delicacy that the traveler had introduced the owner to. After working there for a while you earned a reputation as the sweet, plump person who had a dazzling smile.
When Heizou first came to Kiminami he was there to get details for a case. A customer who had eaten there had gone missing under suspicious circumstances and he wanted to dig details out of you. He sat down on a stool and began to chat you up. He ordered a glass of water and a bowl of soba noodles, all the while talking to you about nothing and everything. As you tended to your other customers he began to pry into you.
“So what sort of people come here? Other than myself of course,” Heizou asked. You raised an eyebrow at him. He was suspicious, in your eyes. People came to the restaurant for small talk, but not this much small talk. The small talk was usually brief, they got their food, and then they would go quiet and then leave. This guy would not shut his trap. It was like he could talk to a wall.
“Um… anyone and everyone come to eat here. What are you trying to find out?” you asked. You were perceptive to his strange, leading questions.
Heizou didn’t show it, but he was impressed by your perception skills. Most people, especially customer service workers, in his experience would be distracted by work and just give up any information that he wanted. But you were not lost in the trance of routine and work, you were awake and clever.
“Oh nothing, my dear. I’m just making conversation,” he answered with a smile, his eyes closed. “Can’t a guy ask a question?”
You shrugged. “You can ask all you like, but that does not mean that I am going to give you the answer you are digging for. At least not without something in return,” you answer.
Heizou was intrigued by this. “Oh my. So forward of you,” he said with a wink and shine in his eyes.
You blushed faintly. “Not forward, mister, just know my worth.”
“Well, that is an intriguing trait. What did you have in mind, for the return of course,” he asked
“Nothing much,” you said, “maybe some mora. But most importantly I want to know why you want this info you are seeking.”
Heizou chuckled, “so you’re interested in my work, hm? Fine. Give me my info, I’ll tell you what I am working on.”
You hummed, tapping your chin dramatically as if thinking hard about your next move. “How about instead we trade back and forth?” you suggested, “that way neither of us is cheated.”
“Oh you are clever,” he said. “Fine, sit down then.” He gestured to the empty seat next to him. You took a seat, ready to learn all there was to know about this strange man.
-
After you agreed to help Heizou on his case, living for the thrill of it, Heizou would come by each day around lunch to ask more questions about his suspect. It became a routine and you both became fond of each other. Despite your better judgment you began to have feelings for the squirrelly doushin. You let yourself have a faint spark of hope that maybe he liked you back as well. I mean, he did keep coming back didn't he? And the two of you talked about more than just the case. He would ask you how you feeling, if you had eaten, what your favorite things were… How could someone not fall for that kind of person? He was flirtatious but had a good heart deep inside.
But then his case ended. He’d caught the perp, which meant he would stop coming by.
Or so you thought. He kept coming. He kept showing up at the same time every day. You were surprised, but you didn’t tell him that.
“You won’t believe it y/n,” he said one day as he came into the restaurant. You looked up from where you were wiping a table for a customer who had spilled their drink. Your outfit sagged off your shoulder as you did so.
“Oh Shikanoin, welcome in,” you said as you finished cleaning, turning to your patron and smiling at them. “There you go sir, I’ll get you a fresh drink,” you said and turned to get a new drink for the man.
Heizou glowered at the man and followed you. “Y/n,” he said, “that man is drooling over you.”
You stopped him as he tried to walk into the back of the shop. “Shikanoin we’ve talked about this. You can’t come into the back of the shop,” you said, holding up your hand to his chest. “And he so is not into me,” you defended, tugging your sleeve to cover your shoulder. “No one would be.”
“There you go again,” he said. “How can you not see how dreamy you are?”
“And there you go again. Archons, if you think I’m so dreamy why don’t you date me?” you asked in exasperation.
“I would but you’re out of my league,” he said in a deadpan tone.
That gave you pause. You stopped pouring the man’s sake and turned to Heizou. “Don’t joke like that, it’s cruel,” you said, trying to keep the tears out of your eyes.
“Why would I joke about that with you?” he said, stepping towards you. He put a hand on your chin to tilt your head to meet his eyes. “I know how you look at me, did you think I wouldn’t notice?” With each word his lips got closer to yours, “And you’re smart enough to know how I look at you,” he said, a breath away from your lips. He waited for you to close the gap.
And when you did, the greatest mystery of all was solved.
Tumblr media
~Sumeru, don't forget to dream~
Tighnari: where foxes mate for life and he wants to have you all his life. When you first come to Avidya forest as a researcher you don’t expect to fall for the fox man who runs the place. But you do. When you go on your first trek and end up injured and sick, Tighnari nurses you back to health over several weeks.
Starting off he thinks you’re lazy and clumsy
He doesn’t think you’re stupid like most of the Akademia, but you are annoying to him
But after spending time with you he starts to like you
Your comedy is on par with Cyno’s and he doesn’t like that so much but he can overlook it
He likes to hold you in his arms
Forehead kisses if you’re shorter than him
He is a tease so be prepared for that
Total words: 1361
Avidya forest was hot and humid. And it was always like that. It was like an eternal hot spring. And it was not easy on the human body. But it is where mushrooms thrived. You trudged through the rainforest, a flask of water sloshing on your waist, a notepad and pencil jingling on the other side, and a heavy backpack clanking on your back. You didn’t know whose bright idea it was to send the least athletic of the dormant fungi researchers into the forest but here you were, climbing hills and swatting bugs off your skin. You were on your way to the village of Gandharva Ville where you were told a former scholar lived. You sighed as you settled to rest on a set of stairs at the foot of a large tree house. From above you, you heard a crude and indignant voice shout down at you.
“Um, excuse me? That is where people walk, you laze about,” the voice said. You looked up to see a man with fox ears on the top of his head. A large bushy tail swished behind him as his bicolored eyes glared down at you. You stood up frantically, hands clasped in front of yourself.
“I-I’m sorry,” you stuttered out, intimidated by the confident fox man in front of you, “I’m a researcher from Amurta,” you explained. “I’m looking for a master Tighnari, I was told to find him to get my research mission approved.”
He raised an eyebrow at you. “You’re y/n? I was told you would be coming. Come up here, laze about, show me this research.”
You followed him up the stairs and into a cabin. He gestured for you to sit. You pulled your backpack off your back and pulled out a file folder of papers and materials and meticulously sorted. “I’m here to research the Rukkhashava mushroom and its potential spiritual connections. I think the layers of the mushroom hold the potential to heal spiritual and mental ailments,” you explained.
He hummed as he skimmed over your research. “Quite whimsical,” he said, “but the chemical makeup you break down here does make sense. You can stay here while you research. But don’t wander into a withering zone, and do not eat any wild mushrooms.”
You blinked at him. “Do you think I’m an idiot?” you asked. He sounded like he was talking to a toddler.
“You would be surprised by the idiocy of some of the Akademia scholars I have encountered,” he replied. He stood and offered his hand.
You squinted at him. “I don’t doubt it but I am not stupid promise,” you take his offered hand, stand, and sling your bag back on your shoulders. You continue to give him quizzical eyes and head off into the forest. The sun was still high in the sky, the day was young, and you could spend the time finding a spot in the forest and setting up camp.
You set out to a spot deep in the forest, where no human influence could be seen. You had made it far away from the village, so far only the sound of fungi dancing in the moonlight could be heard. You shucked off your pack and set up a tent on some level ground and began stoking a fire. Come daylight you would head to higher ground to inspect some trees to see if the mushrooms were prevalent at lower elevations.
-
Tighnari was restless. That researcher from Amurta hadn’t come back yet. It had been three days. Sure, some treks into the forests were long and arduous, but this was unusual. Maybe he had offended you horribly by calling you a laze about. He was about to organize a search party when Collei burst through the door. “Master Tighnari!” she shouted, panting and out of breath.
“Collei what is wrong? Slow down and breathe!” He lightly scolded.
“There isn’t time! Y/n came back… and they’re bleeding!” she shouted. Tighnari rushed out, calling out orders to Collei and he ran.
When he reached you he saw you were practically unconscious, a large gash on your arm that you had haphazardly wrapped a shirt around. The shirt was soaked in crimson and your lips were pale. That wasn’t the only injury. There was a large cut to your head that you had clearly hit.
“What happened?” He hastily asked you as he began to quickly wrap you in blankets that Collei brought to him.
You chuckled dryly and coughed. “I was climbing up a tree to reach a mushroom-” you choked out.
“How high up?” He asked.
You grimaced. “High.”
He sighed loudly. “Alright,” he said, standing to his full height. “Collei, I need some water and a stretcher,” he shouted over his shoulder. “We need to start cleaning the wounds.”
And with that the village went to work, rushing around you like a hoard of ants.
-
That day went by in a blur. People rushing in and out, Tighnari shoveling tonics and concoctions in you to help you recover, Tighnari cleaning and wrapping your wounds and mending your bones, the day turned to night and you drifted in and out of consciousness.
You woke up the next morning to Tighnari at your bedside redressing the wound on your arm. He looked up, sensing the shift in your breathing, and squinted at you. “More lucid this morning?” he asked.
You squinted back at him. “I assume so,” you said. “What’s the verdict, doc? Am I not long for this world?” you joked.
He scoffed. “Your sense of humor is on par with Cyno’s,” he said. “No, but you broke your arm and lost a lot of blood. And we don’t have a healer out here, so you’re stuck under my care until you are well.”
You frowned. “I guess it could be worse,” you replied. “Sorry to be a burden.” “Don’t climb trees next time,” he scolded. He stood. “Don’t be such a lummox,” and with that, he left, tail swaying behind him.
-
Over the next few weeks you got into a routine. You would wake, have a light breakfast, and Tighnari would come redress your wounds. During that time you two would talk about anything and everything. It started out lightly. He would ask how you’re feeling and you would reciprocate, asking how he was. Then it shifted as he noticed things about you. He would ask about your other hobbies outside of the Akademia. You would indulge him in his. You would joke with him and dig information out of him. He became gentler with you over time. And you started to look forward to seeing him. You would take all his time away, talking nonstop about anything. One time he even kissed your forehead. Before long your arm was healed and you were set to go back to the Akademia.
You were putting you backpack on your shoulders when he came in. Just like any other day he came in with a bowl of clean water and fresh bandages. He stopped when he saw you, freezing in his tracks.
“Oh,” he said. “That’s right. You’re meant to go home today.”
You smiled. “Yep. I overstayed my welcome as it is,” you said.
He frowned at that. “You’re welcome here anytime, laze about.”
Your heart skipped a beat and you flushed. You shook your head at him. “Nope I need to get going before people get the wrong idea about us. I stayed too long, I’ve been well enough to travel for a while now.”
His frown deepened. “Wrong idea how?”
You laughed. “You know… I know there is no way you could be attracted to me, I mean I’m annoying and oversized, but other people don’t know that. They just see someone staying and occupying all of your time.”
He sighed. “Y/n, you’re not annoying. I like spending time with you.” He stepped closer. “And don’t you know… my kind mate for life.”
You frowned. “I’m not your mate though.”
“Oh, but you can be,” he said, setting down his supplies and taking you in his arms. “All you have to do is stay.”

Kiminami restaurant. Lanterns shining brightly in the darkness and comforting wooden stools. Lotus-shaped symbols engraved into the wood, accents of purple on the shelves, wooden tokens embellished in writing, and L-shaped wooden counters to eat on.
The sound of bustling people talking and eating, the clatter of cutlery, shuffling of the waiters as they delivered meals, yelling of the cooks announcing the readily made food, creaking of the stools as people shifted their weight on the seats, and Heizou sitting beside you whose eyebrows were furrowed, scrutinising the menu set in front of him.
The menu consisted of many platters including rice cake soup, a Katsu sandwich, soba noodles, tuna sushi, radish and fish stew, wakatakeni and various other foods.
You had already taken your pick, smiling towards the waitress as you pointed towards the food you had chosen. You thanked her as she scribbled it all down and enquired you about drinks. You had already answered with “just water” and now all eyes were on Heizou.
Heizou tapped his foot on the stool and stared at the menu as if it were the most important decision in his life. He nearly picked something multiple times but then immediately decided against it.
You nudged  Heizou, an unsuccessful attempt in prompting him to decide quicker. After a few seconds of trying that, you changed tactics.
“Are you done deciding yet?” You sighed.
“Nope.”
You glanced apologetically towards the waitress who had already been stood there for a good few minutes, pen in hand ready to receive the order whenever Heizou was going to eventually decide what he wanted.
Finally, the realisation hit him as his eyes sparked up and his finger landed on the food he had decided upon.
“I would like the Katsu sandwich please.”
“Any drinks you would like to order sir?”
The waiter turned around the food menu sheet, revealing the drinks menu sheet on the other side of the paper.
Heizou’s eyebrows furrowed, scanning the sheet for a drink he wanted.
Both you and the waiter stared at him now,   he was now taking an impossibly long time for him to decide on the drinks. He raised an eyebrow and glanced towards the waitress
“What is a Rainbow aster?”
“It’s a drink made of a blend of calla lilies and lavender melon, along with a dash of milk to mix the two flavours.”
Heizou pursed his lips.
“Hmmmm.”
You nudged him again.
“Please just decide something- anything.”
The waiter still stood in front of your table, paper and book in hand. A smile on her face because she had to look professional (but you were sure even she was starting to feel a little impatient).
Heizou shut the menu book, handing it to the waitress.
“I’ll have water, thank you.”
He smiled towards the waiter as she picked up both sets of menus, told the both of you that “food should be prepared shortly” and swiftly left on her way to the kitchen.
Your gaze shifted back towards Heizou now, a slightly annoyed expression resting on your face.
“Took you long enough to order.”
He tutted, a smirk now lying on his face.
“You forgot that today is my birthday, meaning things go MY way.”
You sighed.
He couldn’t be this childish, could he?
“Just because it’s your birthday doesn’t mean you can do anything you want. And besides we’ve done plenty of celebrating the whole day. I’ve given you gifts, had a party with all your friends, and now I’m taking you to a lovely restaurant to celebrate your birthday.”
The waiter returned with the drinks, placing them on the table, she smiled then turned around and left.
You both watched the waiter leave and then Heizou raised his eyebrows, a playful and dangerous grin on his face (oh no what was he going to ask you now?)
“If we are here to celebrate my birthday, I request for you to sing me happy birthday.”
“You’re… joking right?”
“Nope,” he returned to the smirk he had had before.
Right now? In this crowded restaurant?”
“Yep.” He slurped on his drink, sharing a challenging stare are you up to it or will you back down?
You groaned. An unamused grunt escaped your lips.
“Fine.”
mumbling, you sang “Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you-”
Heizou shook his head, pausing your singing.
“You need to sing louder. I can barely hear you.”
You stared at him, glaring daggers.
“Ok, ok. You can continue at the volume you were at, it was perfectly fine actually.”
Heizou was a little scared of the very aggravated expression on your face.
“Happy birthday to you happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Heizou happy birthday to you~”
“Was that good enough for you?” you stared at him, annoyed and a little unamused at the humiliation he had put you through.
He beamed. “That was perfect.”
He searched for your hand under the table, and when at last he had found it, he held it in his. Your hand was cold compared to his, but soft and smooth to the touch. He smiled and as he looked back up to stare at you he witnessed a small smile appear on your lips too.
You turned your head , hearing a waiter walk towards your table.
“Soba noodles and a katsu sandwich?”
The waiter removed the food from the tray he was holding and placed both platters on the table.
“I hope you both enjoy your meals,” he grinned, then turned around, with the tray in his hand, and left.
“Well... Tuck in.”
You breathed in the delicate and fragrant smell of the noodles you had ordered. Taking the chopsticks by your side and tasting the nutty and earthy flavours in your mouth. You closed your eyes, savouring the taste of the spoonful of delicious food you had placed in your mouth, in an attempt to savour the taste even longer.
You opened your eyes again and glanced at Heizou. The food had a seemingly similar effect on him as he licked his lips and goobled down the rest of the food.
“It's delicious.”
You nodded, in agreement to his statement and the two of you sat in silence and enjoyed the rest of your meals. With some occasional chit-chat if your mouths weren't full.
At the end of your meal, you both beamed. That was some good food, very good food.
Realising you were both done, the waiter came to take away your food, he glanced at you for a second. The look of knowingness in both of your eyes. You nodded.
Heizou quirked an eyebrow “Is there something going on?”
He's too smart. Of course, he’ll notice small signals- he's a detective for Archon's sake.
“Well....” you prepared yourself to invent an excuse for him, but there was no need.
Staff emerged from the kitchen, a cake on their hands.
“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Heizou, happy birthday to you~”
They placed the cake in front of Heizou. His eyes shone from the flame of the candles, his face half shining in the light and the other in the darkness. He looked at you and smiled, and then he blew the candles.
His eyes glimmered as he cut the cake, watching as the gooey chocolate melted and slowly dripped off of the cake and onto the plate. The taste of chocolate and raspberries enveloping his mouth.
“Happy birthday Heizou. I hope you had an amazing day.”

Hello, Miss Shinobu. I was talking with Itto a while back and we learned that his drink got spiked on one of your gang outings? I'm sort of invested in the story at this point so if you know what happened I'd love your side of the story.

Hello... before I recount this story I apologize for the boss just brining it up out of no where.
The gang and I were at Kiminami restaurant for dinner, but some other people saw the boss and decided it was time for a rematch to some ramen eating contest he had won against them or something like that. The place was packed and super loud, so I don't know why the staff let them do it, but everyone in the restaurant was super excited and treating it like some kind of event. The energy was electric.
The boss did pull through and win again, but was pulled into the restaurant crowd which had then become a party, and I wasn't going through all those people to go back for him. I left to head home, but most of the gang stayed behind, so I figured he would be alright.
The next morning I headed down to our meetup spot, expecting to find the gang having their usual 'after party hangover naps', and with the exception of Itto I did. I asked the rest of them where the boss was and none of them seemed to know. I had a sneaking suspicion he had passed out at the restaurant last night.
I headed back over there and the staff directed me to a side room where he fell asleep. Once I woke him up, we talked and he mentioned the drinks he had and how he got 'sooooooo drunk last night, Kuki', but none of the drinks he mentioned had alcohol, and his described symptoms seemed more like something being spiked. So for now, thats the working theory.
To be honest, I have no idea what happened between him and the Yashiro Commissioner, and frankly I'm not going to be the one to ask. The boss can keep that to himself.
So, thats mostly the events from that night. It was quite a rollercoaster to experience

Summary: Kunikuzushi wakes up in a state of confusion towards everything around him. His life is completely normal, but something isn't right - as things are not as they appear...
Pairings: Scaramouche/Kunikuzushi x gn!reader / Platonic!
Notes/warnings: Reader is only referred to as they and you! POC friendly! Extreme fluff! Scaramouche and his complicated feelings! Might not be or even meant to be completely lore accurate! Not carefully proofread!
Tumblr media
Kunikuzushi slowly opened his eyes to see the pink leaves of the cherry blossom tree he laid under. Stray leaves slowly falling from its branches and letting a single pink petal fly towards his face before landing gently on his nose. He could hear the sweetest chuckle from somewhere beside him, before he could turn to look at the person laughing they reached out to carefully pick up the petal.
“You finally woke up, Kuni!” You laughed lightly at his confused expression.
“Huh?” He could only answer through his confusion.
“You fell asleep again, silly! Mother will surely scold you again for messing up your clothes.” You teased.
“Mother?” He muttered.
“Yeah? What's with you, Kuni?” You began getting conserned from his strange behavior.
“Um, nothing... Just forget about it.” He sat up and looked away from you.
You didn't say anything as you picked up his fallen purple veil and carefully placed it like it was supposed to be on him, you patted his head affectionately after it was on correctly. He could be such a mess sometimes, thankfully he would always have you by his side for things like these or for whatever he needed. Same goes for you, but you had always been the doting sibling despite him being technically older than you.
You sat in silence watching the slowly setting sun in the distant horizon, the ocean reflected its colours beautifully. The silence was comfortable and comforting, but was soon broken by the sound of approaching footsteps. You could easily tell who it was from the clicking of her heels, but turned to face them with a bright and genuine smile anyway.
“Mother!” You called in excitement.
“Hello.” She responded with a sweet smile.
Kunikuzushi slowly turned his head as well, but his expression was far from what either of you were expecting. His eyes were wide open and mouth fell agape from, shock? You turned back to face your mother with a puzzled expression, which she returned with consern.
“Is something wrong, Kunikuzushi?” She asked.
“He's been acting weird today...” You said.
“Hmm. Maybe it's best if we head back to Tenshukaku and have some warm tea before bed.” She offered.
You nodded as you got up from the ground and held out a hand to help Kunikuzushi up as well. Your mother stepped closer to dust off his and your clothing gently, Kuni was silent and seemed completely lost in thought making you both even more concerned. He was usually more chatty than this... You intertwined your fingers with his to lead him beside you as you followed your mother towards Tenshukaku - it was to prevent him from stumbling, which he often did.
Things were slowly becoming clearer to Kunikuzushi, like he had finally began to wake up after a terrible nightmare. The cool breeze felt nice against his skin as he closed his eyes to enjoy it - fully trusting you to guide him without him doing or seeing anything. The trust was strong and deep, he had always had you by his side to rely on. He could trust you with anything and everything.
“So, how was your day?” Ei asked.
“It was fine!” You simply replied.
“We had dinner at Kiminami Restaurant.” Kuni recalled.
“Right! After that we went to the beach - Kuni, give mother your gift!” You encouraged.
Without thinking his hand reached into his pocked to pull out a colourful and rather unique looking sea shell, which he handed to Ei like you had suggested. She stopped and carefully picked it up from his hand to bring it close to her face in order to examine it better. She smiled again seemingly happy with her newest gift from your daily adventures.
“It's quite beautiful, thank you Kuni.” She pulled him closer and embraced him briefly.
“Your welcome.” He could only mutter in response.
The rest of the way to Tenshukaku was mostly silent, but every once in a while someone would break the silence to say something unimportant. Just casual small talk. Kunikuzushi still felt confused by everything for some reason, he couldn't quite place what made him feel that way as everything appeared rather normal...
As you sat down for tea Kunikuzushi held the warm cup in his hands before smelling the rich aroma if it, you and Ei chuckled lightly at his antics. When the porcelain cup met his lips his mouth was filled with the tasteful yet sweet taste of the tea, somehow it too seemed wrong though he didn't dislike the taste at all. Some of it managed to escape his mouth making his mother reach out to wipe it tenderly with a napkin.
“Thank you.” He quietly said.
After tea and some snacks Ei ushered you both to bed, which was rather unusual but neither of you complained or disobeyed. Your shared room was cozy yet small, it had some decorations he recognized as yours and some that were clearly his - despite these differences the room fit together perfectly. You quickly laid down on your side of the futon and patted the spot next to you for him to lay down, which he did.
“Do you want to hold hands?” You asked.
He simply nodded in response and again intertwined his fingers with yours. “Good night, Kuni.”
“Good night.” He responded.
He didn't close his eyes for a long time after saying good night and long after you had fallen asleep beside him. You laid on your side perfectly still while facing him while he simply stared at your features, commiting then to memory for some reason that he wasn't sure of himself. He just didn't want to fall asleep - he didn't want this day to come to an end. Perhaps your conserns had been correct, he was acting and feeling very strange today...
When his eyes fluttered shut all the memories he had began to remember slowly faded from his mind. He desperately tried to reach out and hold on to them, but he only woke himself up. His hand high up reaching for the dream reality he didn't wish to let go off... His mind slowly adjusted and he turned to look beside him where you weren't. It was just a dream.
A cruel play on his deepest desires or dreams he thought he had long ago let go of and destroyed. Seems he still held them within him and during a moment of weakness they pounced on him to play this stupid trick. It felt so real, but he still felt stupid for believing that dream for even a moment. You weren't real - you didn't exist and he hated his creator, his "mother".
Still, after weeks he couldn't stop thinking about that dream. He didn't dream of it anymore or dream at all, but when he laid down to sleep his mind would flashback to that dream. He would see you holding his hand with a bright smile, his mother looking at you both with a gentle smile... He was officially going insane it seemed.
After a while he thought his only option was to return to Inazuma to finally let go of these ridiculous fantasies and face the reality that you were a figment of his imagination. Something he once craved yet never got, love, a sibling and a mother who cared - a family. He knew the truth, but his non-existent heart refused to accept reality. He couldn't stand being this weak...
His head hung low to allow his hat to hide his features from the crowds he walked through. After the Sakoku Decree it had become increasingly difficult to enter Inazuma and he didn't exactly happen to own legal paper work to be allowed in. He would only visit briefly so as long as he kept a low profile it didn't matter.
He stood opposite of the tall statue repressing the Omnipresent God, Beelzebub. There was a long rift separating the two and for everyone's own good, as he glared daggers at the face that was so akin to his creator. The statue resided over the land that he saw in his dream, there was no longer a cherry blossom tree which he has laid under - if there ever was one in the first place.
He was satisfied. He was ready to move on and forget about this ridiculous trip and the dream that had haunted him for weeks. He was ready to leave back to Snezhnaya right away, but then he heard it - clear as day, he heard that same laugh you had. There couldn't be a mistake in his mind or ears, it had to have been yours. That laugh was too distinct in his mind, he could recognize it anywhere. He stopped himself from turning around to face the cause of this sound. You didn't actually exist... did you?

“This place has such good food!” Yoimiya grabs Childe by the wrist and dragged him over to the small establishment. Kiminami Restaurant is what Childe could make of the name. “People overlook it because it’s small and tucked away, but this is some of the best Inazuman food you’re gonna get! It’s like it’s homecooked.”
“Just my type of food,” Childe smiled as he sat down next to Yoimiya. “Allow me to pay since you’ve been such a big help during my stay here.”
“I’m going to pay you back eventually, Tartaglia!” Yoimiya nudged his shoulder with her own, grinning when the restaurant owner was able to come over to them. “Anna! I’ve brought a new friend to try out your food!”
“O-oh! My, you’re quite handsome! Are you sure he’s just a friend, Yoimiya?” She asked. Her tone was somewhere between teasing and genuine. Childe quirked an eyebrow up but glanced down at his newest companion.
“Ugh, you know I’m not into guys! He’s handsome sure but he’s a new friend that I would like to keep around. Might even let him meet Pops,” Yoimiya trailed off, expression pinching slightly. “It would be nice for my dad to meet someone else who’s reliable. I’m never sure how much longer he’ll be able to hear me, so I want to introduce him to as many people as I can.”
“That’s sweet, Miya,” Childe said, gently patting her shoulder. “I’d love to meet your father. He’s the one who taught you how to make fireworks after all, right? I’m sure the man is a master at his craft!”
“He is! I’ll tell you more once we order or we’re just gonna sit here for hours,” Yoimiya said, waving her hands in front of her chest as if wiping their slate clean. “Anna! What’s the special for today?”
“Today it’s More-and-More, but anything’s available!” Anna responded, glancing between her now-only customers.
“I trust Yoimiya’s call, so I’ll try just about anything,” Childe said. Beside him, Yoimiya nearly squealed.
“Could we get one of everything then? It’s not too expensive here so it should still be reasonably priced. We can split all the dishes that way you can try a lot of food but also-”
“One of everything works with me,” Childe said, encouraging her to catch her breath.
Anna scribbled down their order before tallying up the price, showing the ticket to Childe when he mentioned he would be paying. Without hesitation, Childe handed over the Mora needed to pay before Yoimiya could sneak a peek at the price. With a quiet thanks, Anna whipped up some drinks for them before she settled in to cook a variety of dishes.
“Do you not bring many people to this place?” Childe asked, turning to face Yoimiya. The girl was propped on the table, kicking her feet lightly.
“Not really? People always want to go to the more expensive places, but I like it just fine here. Ayaka introduced me to it and I really fell in love with the food and people I’ve met here,” Yoimiya said. A wistful smile pulled at her lips at the mention of Ayaka, and Childe couldn’t help but notice.
“Ayaka? Would that be Kamisato Ayaka, the Commissioner’s sister?” Childe wasn’t completely foreign to the Inazuman government, but he had never had the chance to put faces with names. He knew of the Kamisato siblings and their achievements, however, Childe had yet to see them. It wasn’t often he was able to be in Inazuma due to his work.
“Yep! She’s so sweet. She’s my height and really shy but super duper cute. Unlike her brother though, she was gifted with a Cryo vision. When she dances she incorporates the blessing of her vision and it’s just- it’s so- magical.” Yoimiya fully turned to face Childe, a light blush coating her skin. “She’s really cool and doesn’t realize it. I try to tell her but she brushes it off sometimes. Maybe I embarrass her if I compliment her? I don’t know- I just- yeah.”
“If I had to guess, you’ve got a soft spot for Miss Kamisato,” Childe said, keeping his tone light. He didn’t want to potentially upset Yoimiya, but he was curious nonetheless.
Yoimiya pouted, arms crossing over her chest as she sighed.
“You caught me. I may or may not have a teensy-weensy little crush on Ayaka,” Yoimiya admitted, causing her blush to darken even more. “I just don’t want to make her uncomfortable. She doesn’t have a ton of friends, so I don’t want to ruin that between us. She’s still kind of learning how to be friends with people.”
“If she’s learning, then wouldn’t you want to tell her that your feelings and actions aren’t simply friendly? That way she doesn’t start acting like that with others?” Childe wasn’t sure just how socially awkward Ayaka was, but he wanted to cover as many bases as he could. A lot of people he’s come across haven’t been the best with socializing, so he doesn’t doubt Yoimiya.
“You’ve got a point, but it’s still embarrassing! I don’t want to be rejected, Childe,” Yoimiya finally said, shoulders sagging as she leaned forward to rest her head on his shoulder. “It would be a lot easier if I liked guys, but with her being in such an influential position, I don’t want to make things hard on her.”
“And you wouldn’t,” Childe’s voice was confident. “People aren’t that close-minded anymore. Doesn’t the Electro Archon and the Guuji have a unique relationship? If people just know and accept that, they shouldn’t be bothered by Ayaka dating another girl.”
“I know but-”
“No, listen to me, Yoimiya,” Childe said, gently grabbing her arms to pull her away so he could look her in the eye. “You are kind-hearted, beautiful, and incredibly smart. You’ve rattled off the chemical formulas of some of those fireworks and it goes straight over my head, but I’m impressed by your knowledge. I’m sure Ayaka can see this and even more from knowing you for so long.”
Yoimiya felt her throat tighten. A wave of emotions overcame her as she collapsed back onto Childe’s shoulder. She wrapped her arms around his waist, trying to steady her breathing. He reached around her shoulders, rubbing her back gently as she calmed down. She loved hugs but didn’t indulge very often as most of her friends weren’t touchy people.
She wouldn’t admit she was touch-starved as people wouldn’t believe her. Someone so loving and easygoing being touch-starved sounded absurd, but it was the truth. So a genuine hug from a friend was enough to make Yoimiya yearn for more. All she wanted was to stay right where she was until she felt recharged, but she knew that wasn’t possible.
Childe patted Yoimiya’s head softly, careful not to disturb her accessories. She only sighed before pulling away to sit back up. When her eyes lifted over Childe’s shoulders, she could see all too familiar periwinkle eyes staring back at her.
Ayaka stood frozen, her fan covering the lower half of her face. Yoimiya knew she could see tears gliding down her cheeks and behind the fan. The sight caused Yoimiya’s heart to seize in her chest.
“W-wait!” She yelled to Ayaka but received no response. “I’m so sorry, I’ll be back, Childe. I need to go!”
He glanced back but only could make out a blue of icy blue hair moving through the crowd swiftly. Childe could only assume Ayaka had seen them, and didn’t take kindly to it.
“Go get her, tiger!” He laughed, encouraging her to chase after Ayaka. It was only a misunderstanding in the end. All Yoimiya needed to do was tell Ayaka.
Yoimiya couldn’t even spare a glance back as she tried to follow Ayaka through the steadily building crowd. She could see the girl dashing up the stairs past Yae Publishing House, and all Yoimiya could do was run faster. Her legs started to burn quickly as she was not used to sprinting like this. However, she couldn’t fall too far behind.
When she finally made it up the stairs after colliding with several people, Yoimiya couldn’t tell which direction Ayaka had gone. However, a very recognizable person would be able to help her.
“Thoma!” She called, watching the man jump before turning around to face her. He dropped a few mora on the ground, bending down to pick them back up with a mutter. “Do you know where Ayaka went? I need to talk to her as soon as possible.”
“Um, I think she went around to Komore Teahouse. It was a surprise to see her running in public,” Thoma said, brows furrowing as he took in Yoimiya’s appearance. He handed over a set amount of mora to the woman running the store, Aoi. “Did you run here?”
“I did,” Yoimiya leaned over, hands on her knees. “I upset Ayaka and I want to talk to her about it.”
“I know you won’t endanger Miss Kamisato, but I’d like to ask what happened, just for security measures,” Thoma asked, grabbing his bags from Tsumomono Groceries. “Let’s move out of the way so you can tell me what happened.”
Yoimiya followed Thoma over to a bench that was just around the corner, taking a seat rather gracelessly before Thoma settled down beside her.
“I was getting food with a friend of mine, Childe, who’s not from around here. We were at Kiminami’s and I got a little overwhelmed talking to him about something, so he let me get a hug. But, it seems Ayaka saw and got upset. I just want to tell her nothing’s up between us, but I can’t find her since she ran off.” Yoimiya rambled, unable to look Thoma in the eye.
“Miss Kamisato does fancy you quite a bit, so she may have thought it was a date,” Thoma said, snacking on some dango he purchased.
“W-wait, she likes me back?” Yoimiya said, grabbing both of Thoma’s shoulders.
“I, um, didn’t say that,” Thoma chuckled, tugging at his ear as he looked out toward the horizon. “You two really need to talk, just clear the air and everything will be fine. You’re both just overthinking things.”
“You really think just talking things out will be easy?” Yoimiya whispered, gazing at the ground beneath her feet.
“Of course, it’s just Ayaka, you’ll be alright.”
Yoimiya thought about the variety of responses she could get from Ayaka, but none of them felt like a likely response from her. She feared rejection, but after seeing Ayaka’s reaction to a hug, Yoimiya let herself feel hopeful for once.
“You’re right!” Yoimiya said, hopping up into her feet. “I just need to chat with her. Wait! Do you need to go to the estate right now?”
“No? Why?” Yoimiya clasped her hands in front of her chest, and smiled brightly at Thoma’s response.
“Childe and I ordered a good bit of food at Kiminami’s, so I was wondering if you could join him for dinner since I need to speak to Ayaka!”
Thoma sighed, eyeing the groceries in his hands.
“If you drop these off with Tarumaru then I’ll go have dinner with your friend,” Thoma said. It wouldn’t hurt to grab dinner before heading back to the estate, and he never turned down an opportunity to chat.
“You’re a lifesaver, Thoma! Thank you so much,” Yoimiya said, gesturing for him to hand over the bags. “I’m gonna go before I chicken out. Childe is about your height, a redhead, and dressed in a lot of gray. He’s hard to miss!”
“Alright, alright,” Thoma chuckled. He noticed her nervousness was nearly tangible as he rose to his feet. “You go talk to her and I’ll keep your friend company.”
“Wish me luck!”
Thoma remained in place as she began to walk off toward Komore Teahouse. He wanted to make sure she was safe, yes, but also not going to run back and scare herself out of the conversation that needed to be had. When she rounded the corner, Thoma let himself turn away.
He did have company waiting after all.

Scaramouche hasn’t really interacted with Heizou in a few days.  Yes, he has talked to him, but any moment he is potentially alone with him for more than a few minutes.  Perhaps it is due to him being terrified of the possibilities of a conversation, but he really doesn’t want to think about it.  If Scaramouche could, he would forget certain aspects of the day he saved Heizou.  But, that does prove to be difficult.
Heizou seems to make it his personal mission to catch Scaramouche alone, much to the angel’s dismay.  And considering the fact that Heizou has been given a month off due to the whole situation (to Kazuha’s protests, as he thought it should have been longer), Heizou has far too many chances to get Scaramouche alone.
But, since Kazuha wanted Heizou to be as comfortable as possible, at least he has decided to take some time off as well.  So at least Scaramouche doesn’t have to deal with avoiding Heizou for hours at a time.
The angel curls up on an armchair, scrolling through random articles on Kazuha’s laptop, glancing at the couple every once in a while.  Heizou is in Kazuha’s arms as they watch some bad horror movie, the two laughing every once in a while to make fun of the ridiculousness of the movie.  He looks away when Kazuha meets his eye.
“What are you looking at now?” Kazuha asks.
“It’s some article about an anime…it looks cool but I’m already spoiled so I doubt I’ll watch it.”
“That sucks.” Kazuha mutters, resting his chin on Heizou’s shoulder.  “Heizou?”
“Hmm?”
“I was thinking about something…”
Heizou shifts slightly, obviously trying to make sure Kazuha is still comfortable, but also just wanting to look at him.  “Oh?”
“Well,” Kazuha starts as his grip tightens a bit as he holds Heizou close to him.  He moves his head, proceeding to kiss Heizou’s neck sweetly in a manner that makes Scaramouche blush at the sight.  “We haven’t gone on a date in so long….”
“We went on a date….uh…”
“The week before Scara appeared,” Kazuha mutters, once again resting his chin on Heizou’s shoulder once more.  The blond looks toward Scaramouche, smiling a bit, “and that’s not a terrible thing.  We just haven’t thought about it.”
Scaramouche almost jumps at the fact that Kazuha is talking to him, squirming at the fact that he is being stared down.  “Well that’s…good.” He still feels terrible, even if Kazuha is insisting he shouldn’t be.  He really doesn’t want those two to have issues, especially if he potentially does something that could hurt their relationship.
“So, I was thinking…do you want to go to Kiminami tonight?”
Heizou beams, unable to face Kazuha but still seemingly attempting to anyway.  He’s practically bouncing at this point, evidently extremely excited over the idea.  “That actually sounds like a good idea.”
“That’s why I suggested it,” Kazuha hums, going back to the movie he’s watching.  “We can get going after the movie.”
“But the movie isn’t even very good…”
Scaramouche barely even notices it at first, but when he does it almost makes him blush at the thought.  Kazuha is softly tapping Heizou’s thigh, which happens to be bare since he is wearing shorts.  The action in itself isn’t anything important.  But, the fact that Heizou straightens his back, immediately stopping his protests, is definitely indicative of hidden meanings within the actions.
“We’ll get ready after the movie,” Kazuha mutters, eyes trained on the television.
“Okay…”
●•·•●
Kazuha likes going on dates, mostly because he can spoil the other person.  It’s honestly a good thing he’s pretty well off, because if he was broke he would rather go without eating for a week then let his date go home without something.  He’s always been a gift giver, mostly due to the fact that it makes the person receiving the gift happy.  That’s partly why he loved taking Scaramouche shopping, seeing the angel’s face light up made his day.
But it’s…difficult with Heizou.  He can’t shower the man with gifts, because Heizou is well off as well.  So, he has to get creative.  While Heizou can afford to go to fancy restaurants, he likes the cheaper options.  So, Kazuha makes sure to take his boyfriend to places he knows Heizou likes.  That, paired with anything that Kazuha can think of, and he successfully makes sure Heizou has a good time.  And, if Heizou is having a good time, Kazuha is enjoying himself too.
It really didn’t take that long to get ready, not that Kazuha thought it would.  Yes, both Heizou and him dressed nice, but neither of them are entirely dressed as if they were going somewhere fancy.  Heizou is quite literally wearing a leather jacket, so no one would really classify it as fancy anyways.
But the two still find themselves in Kazuha’s car, some music softly playing through the speakers.  The road to the city is smooth, an easy drive for anyone who decides to take the time to do it.  Kazuha has always liked the road late at night, the tranquility around him far too divine to logistically ignore.
Kazuha’s grip tightens a tad on the steering wheel as he drives, his gaze looking to the road.  “Hey Heizou?”
“Hmm?” Heizou hums, seemingly excited about the date as he is looking out the window as if he has never seen this road before, even though this is the same road he drives to work.  Now that Kazuha thinks about it, perhaps Heizou is excited to finally be out of the house.  He hasn’t really left for a while after all.
“What is going on between you and Scara?”
Kazuha doesn’t have to see Heizou to know that he has paused, most likely looking at Kazuha in shock.  “What do you mean?”
“Well…” Kazuha trails off, still not dropping his gaze on the road.  “Ever since you two came back from…the incident,” Kazuha starts, still refusing to vocalize what happened, “Scara has quite literally refused to be alone with you.  So what happened?”
“…”
The silence is deafening, and Kazuha doesn’t like that.  Mostly, he dislikes Heizou hiding things from him, but he also dislikes the multiple possibilities running through his mind.  “Heizou, tell me.”
“…”
“Heizou-“
“I kissed Scaramouche.”
The car swerves before Kazuha even realizes that he did so.  For the first time in the car ride, Kazuha tears his eyes from the road, instead deciding to park the car and stare at Heizou.  “Tell me everything.”
Heizou shifts uncomfortably, refusing to meet Kazuha’s gaze.  “When he was telling me that I needed to run back when Dottore got me…I didn’t know if he’d live.  I didn’t even know if I’d live…” Heizou trails off, seemingly attempting to figure out how he is going to phrase things.  “So I kind of just…kissed him?”
Kazuha can’t help it, he starts to burst out laughing.  “Were you cheesy too?  What exactly did you say when you did it?”
“…I told him that he needed to live.”
Kazuha laughs harder, resting his forehead on the steering wheel.  His shoulders shake due to his laughter, and while he is well aware of the fact that Heizou is not laughing at all, he can’t help but still find the scenario funny.  Not the details that led to the scene, obviously, but just the idea of such an action reminds Kazuha of those cheesy romance movies.
“I thought you’d be mad.”
“Why the hell would I be mad?” Kazuha questions, his brows furrowed at the idea.  “We both said that as long as we communicate, going out with other people is fine.  You communicated, albeit reluctantly, so I have no reason to be mad.” Kazuha sends a look to Heizou that isn’t particularly meant to be taken seriously at all.  “If you would’ve lied about it, then I would’ve been pissed.”
“So you’re not jealous?”
“Dude, we’re both poly…non-monogamy is kind of our thing.  Would you be jealous if I kissed Scaramouche?”
Kazuha doesn’t want to think about the fact that Heizou’s pupils visibly dilate at the idea.  But, since Heizou clears his throat, clearly wishing to distract from the idea, Kazuha doesn’t dwell.  “I wouldn’t be jealous, no.”
“I’m just pissed because you did it first.”
“…what?”
Kazuha runs a hand through his hair, chuckling at Heizou’s reaction.  “Did you not realize that I’ve liked him?  Thought I was pretty obvious.”
“Ah…” Heizou mutters, unbuckling his seatbelt so that he can rest his head on Kazuha’s shoulder.  “So we like the same guy?”
“I think so.”
“And does he even like either of us?”
“I’m not sure.”
“We are screwed aren’t we?”
“Kinda.”
Both Heizou and Kazuha burst out laughing together, resting on the other.  They don’t laugh for a long time, their chuckles dying down within a minute, morphing into a comfortable silence between the two.  Kazuha looks toward Heizou, staring at him for a moment before saying, “what are we going to do?”
“Confess to him?”
Kazuha lifts his head, going back to sitting up so that Heizou and him can look at eachother.  “But would that be okay?  I don’t want to make him uncomfortable.”
But Heizou just shrugs, clearly not knowing the best course of action either.  “Pretty sure I already did.” His smile drops at the idea, an expression that represents a grimace showing up on his face.  “If he doesn’t even like me like that I’m fucked.”
“Why wouldn’t he?” Kazuha asks, even though the thought has crossed his mind.  If Scaramouche doesn’t actually like him in that way, it could genuinely ruin the dynamic all three of them have.  “Heizou, you’re perfect.”
“…you’re a really bad liar.”
“It’s not a lie,” Kazuha casually says, not really moving.  But, an idea comes to mind, one that he cannot ignore.  “Wait, do we even know if he’s gay?”
Both of them sit up, staring at each other in shock, mostly due to the fact that neither of them thought of that before.  “He…wait do you think he might be homophobic?” Heizou asks.
“Excuse me?”
“Well think about it, he’s from heaven!  What if they talk about how being gay is wrong?” Heizou questions, shaking Kazuha’s shoulders a little as he talks.
And Kazuha can only stare at him in shock.  For someone who is supposed to be possibly one of the smartest people in the country…Kazuha’s boyfriend is an idiot sometimes.  “Heizou…if he was homophobic he would’ve said something months ago.”
“…I didn’t think about that.”
Kazuha rolls his eyes, pushing Heizou away playfully.  “I think we should get going, don’t want Kiminami to be overcrowded.”
“We’re still going to Kiminami?”
Kazuha raises a brow, staring at Heizou for a moment.  “Obviously we’re going to Kiminami.”
“But what about Scara?”
Kazuha glances at Heizou, offering him an unsure smile.  “We’ll figure it out once we get home.”
●•·•●
When Scaramouche notices the two humans return home, he can’t help but feel happy for them.  Both of them look happy, holding hands as they enter the house.  Clearly, they had a good time, which is great.  He likes the smiles on their faces.  He likes the small touches shared between the two that are obviously an attempt to be covert.
Both of them collapse onto the couch, leaning on each other immediately in a way that is far too sickly sweet for Scaramouche to even be able to stand.  But, Scaramouche pushes those thoughts away, instead forcing himself to talk to them.  “How was the date?”
“It was actually pretty nice,” Kazuha says, eyes scanning Scaramouche’s expression as if he is searching for something.  “Did you eat tonight?”  Scaramouche attempts to avoid eye contact, mostly due to the fact that he still really doesn’t know how to cook.  He shouldn’t be embarrassed, mostly due to the fact that he was never taught, but it’s still embarrassing in his mind.  “Scara…”
“…no.”
Kazuha doesn’t frown, he doesn’t grumble, and he doesn’t even look annoyed with Scaramouche.  In fact, he seems more concerned than anything.  Kazuha and Heizou share a look before Kazuha stands, grabbing Scaramouche’s wrist lightly so he can tug him toward the kitchen.
“Do you not know how to cook?” Kazuha asks, already grabbing a few items that can make a quick meal.  He doesn’t sound like he is judging Scaramouche when he asks, sounding more curious than anything.  “It’s okay if you don’t, I can teach you.  Beidou and Ningguang taught me so I’m actually pretty good.”
“Angels never really needed to know how to cook…”
“Well, you’re leaning now so put on an apron,” Kazuha says with a smile, already slipping on his own apron.  Scaramouche hesitantly grabs for the extra one, which he assumes to be Heizou’s, and slips it on.  That action easily brings a smile to Kazuha’s face, causing a small bit of blush to settle on Scaramouche’s face as he thinks about the fact that he made Kazuha smile.
Scaramouche cannot help but stare as Kazuha starts cutting vegetables.  His shirt sleeves are pulled up, so Scaramouche has a full view of Kazuha’s arms.  Honestly, just a small bit of visible skin and veins becoming visible for a few seconds at a time should not distract Scaramouche, but it unfortunately does.  And Kazuha looks like he’s in his element completely, knowing exactly what to do in every moment.
Kazuha is humming as he scoops up vegetables and puts them in a pot.  Scaramouche almost jumps in shock when the flame on the stove erupts, quickly starting to heat up the food.  “Let this simmer for a few minutes, and you’ll be all set,” Kazuha says, placing a lid on the pot and taking off his apron.  He looks at Scaramouche, seemingly thinking about something before intently staring at him.  “Scara, Heizou told me something that I want to talk to you about.”
Scaramouche freezes at those words, nervously staring at Kazuha.  “Kazuha, I-“
“Are you okay?” Kazuha immediately asks, stepping closer to Scaramouche as he talks.  The human looks sincere, looking directly into Scaramouche’s eyes.  “Heizou meant well, but he should’ve asked.”
“I” Scaramouche tails off, quite distracted if he’s being honest with himself.  “It wasn’t terrible.  I mean…I didn’t mind it…particularly.”
Kazuha grins at such a statement, which surprises Scaramouche.  He assumed the human would be mad…not happy.  “So you like Heizou?”
“No!” Scaramouche exclaims, raising his hands in protest on instinct but immediately regretting it due to the action accentuating just how close he is to Kazuha.
“Scara…” Kazuha mutters, grabbing Scaramouche’s hand.  The action makes him look away, a bit too embarrassed to really face him.  “Not all humans are monogamous.  Heizou and I have already discussed that if either of us were to become attracted to someone else, it wouldn’t change anything.” Scaramouche feels a hand on his chin before he is urged to look up, greeted with Kazuha being extremely close.  “So if you like Heizou, that’s okay.”
Scaramouche’s eyes widen at the idea, his mind wandering for a second before he banished those thoughts.  No, it probably wouldn’t be a good idea.  Although, he really can’t help it when he stares at Kazuha, the reality of Kazuha being so close that he can touch the other without even extending his hand out.
And Kazuha, being observant, seems to notice this as well.  “Can I try something?”
“What would that be?”
“I want to kiss you,” Kazuha says in a straightforward way, his face a few inches from Scaramouche’s.  “But if you don’t want to, I understand.”
Scaramouche really can’t think at this moment.  It’s like multiple thoughts fight to take over, leaving his entire mind a mess.  And he doesn’t feel pressured into answering any sort of way, which makes it easier.  “Why?”
And Kazuha genuinely smiles at this question, his eyes crinkling a bit.  “I like you.  That’s actually pretty much it.” His nose scrunches up immediately after saying those words.  “Why the hell are these types of things so cheesy?  I don’t even know how I could phrase that differently.”
“Yeah…that was pretty cheesy,” Scaramouche says while chuckling, not ignoring the fact that Kazuha’s expression turns hopeful for a moment.  His eyes involuntarily glance at Kazuha’s lips for a moment before he can even think, causing him to blush a bit.  “But it’s okay.”
“Yeah?” Kazuha asks, getting a bit closer.
Scaramouche just pauses for a moment, his thoughts short circuiting.  “Yeah, it’s okay.” Kazuha leans a bit closer, obviously searching Scaramouche’s eyes for anything that will say he’s uncomfortable with the situation.  And, while Scaramouche still isn’t quite convinced that he deserves anything like this, he also isn’t against it.  So he can only nod at Kazuha.
Kazuha takes this as the confirmation he needs, pressing his lips onto Scaramouche’s.  At first, Scaramouche doesn’t really know what to think…at first he really can’t think.  But when he is able to think, he cannot help but feel awkward over the fact that he doesn’t know what to do with himself.  Kazuha is holding his hand still, but the way he is doing so makes it where Scaramouche can pull away at any time.  He finds his heart rate increasing, especially as he starts enjoying it.
But that is not to last.
Kazuha pulls away, making sure to look at Scaramouche in a kind manner.  “Are you okay?” Scaramouche just kind of nods, words stuck in his throat.  It’s not common for him to be speechless, but here he is.  So Kazuha just presses a soft kiss onto Scaramouche’s forehead, almost humming in content. “Good.”
“That was so sweet…”  Both of them look startled as they turn toward the new voice, who just so happens to be Heizou.  Heizou just waves, knowing fully well that he ruined any sort of moment they were having.  “Absolutely nauseating too.”
“You’re just mad because I talked to him about it before you could,” Kazuha retorts, stepping away from Scaramouche so that he can check the soup.  “Well, the soup is done, so that’s something.”
But Scaramouche just kind of stands there, kind of confused.  “Don’t we need to talk?”
“Hmm?” Kazuha looks at Scaramouche, a soft smile on his face.  “If you want to, we can.  Or we can eat and talk later.”
“But this is…”
“Are you attracted to Heizou?” Kazuha questions, still holding the pot of soup.  Scaramouche nods, making Heizou practically beam in happiness.  “And are you attracted to me?” Once again, Scaramouche nods in response.  “Then we can talk later, but you need to eat.”
And, even if their conversation took a while to actually happen, Scaramouche does have to admit that the soup was really good.

What's your favorite local dish from each region you've visited?
"Hmー That is an interesting one. Usually Paimon is the one who does most of the eating, but I have tried quite a bit of regional cuisine as well."
Tumblr media
In general, Lumine favored foods which are more on the mild side. She also has quite the sweet tooth. Hence why her favorite overall food is Rice Pudding, which is a perfect combination of both.
"I quite like the Good Hunter's Tea Break Pancakes. They are light and fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness.
Liyue has a lot of spicy dishes which easily upset my stomach, but I do enjoy the texture of Almond Tofu.
Being close to the sea, Inazuma is famous for its seafood. The sashimi is good but...My personal favorite is Kiminami's Kitty Meal! I have a soft spot for cats after all.
Sumeru is another region which uses a lot of strong spices, but their Rose Custard is delightful. I'd definitely recommend it!
As for Fontaine, I have yet to try all of the dishes the region has to offer, but one thing I can say for sure...their Conch Madeleines are incredibly addictive."

Hi...ur like my fave author (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤(◍•ᴗ•◍)❤(◍•ᴗ•◍)❤ pft yahshdhdj here with a request!!! You can pick the format (cuz you can't answer my question) maybe something involving ayaka and the reader's birthday? Like what would she do/get you! My birthday soon! And ayaka is my main/fave (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ
Tumblr media
Kαɱιʂαƚσ Aყαƙα
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
╰┈➤ Ayaka was absolutely overthinking on what exactly to get you. She’s known you for a while now, and while she knows your likes, she wanted to do something really special to show her appreciation.
╰┈➤ Thoma noticed her worrying about it, and suggested that she invite you to hangout for a while, and she agreed.
𓆩♡𓆪
You and Ayaka walked along the streets of Inazuma, the scent of cherry blossoms filling the air. Ayaka paused briefly, taking in the scenery. You felt a smile slip onto your face.
It had been the same time of year when you’d both met.
Although, you were rather curious as to why Ayaka had suddenly invited you out. You’d both formed a habit of planning things in advance, mainly due to busy schedules.Ayaka turned around to face you, a smile on her face, before she continued walking.
Curiosity nagged at you, as you trailed after her. Your gaze trailed to the several stalls lining the streets, nostalgia overtaking you for a moment.
“It was around this time that we first met, wasn’t it?”
You muttered, earning a small smile from Ayaka.
“It was. I remember it very clearly… The whole situation was rather embarrassing, truly!”
You grinned at Ayaka, shaking your head. It was a struggle to withhold the laughter that threatened to make its way out.
“I thought it was kind of cute.”
You said, earning an embarrassed squeak from the other girl.
𓆩♡𓆪
╰┈➤ You’d been incredibly tired that day, having finished a long project for work. At the time nothing had sounded better to you than food from your favorite place, Kiminami Restraunt. It was your go to.
╰┈➤ Unfortunately, the restaurant had been temporarily closed due to a mess on the kitchen stove. That was when you’d met Ayaka. She’d gotten permission to practice a certain dish. She apologized profusely, blaming herself for ruining your meal plans.
╰┈➤ Despite being tired, you’d found the whole situation rather endearing. Ayaka had offered to treat you as an apology, once the stove was fixed. You’d denied, at first, but Ayaka had been persistent. Eventually, you agreed on the condition that she got something as well, and you split the cost.
╰┈➤ During the brief shared meal, you and Ayaka had found that you had a few interests in common, and by the end of the meal had formed plans to meet up again.
𓆩♡𓆪
Ayaka had been fairly quiet for the past few minutes, and you worried that your teasing had gotten to her. You opened your mouth, intending to apologize, when she suddenly spoke up—
“I’m just… really glad I met you.”
You felt the breath leave your lungs, as a smile made its way to your face. Ayaka was the type of person, you’d noticed, that would act a certain way and then do something that absolutely stunned you. This was one of those moments, it seemed..
“I’m incredibly glad we met, too. You’re probably one of the best gifts life has given me.”
You notice Ayaka’s eyes widen for a moment, and that nagging feeling returned. Did you say something wrong? Did she not realize just how important your bond was to you?
Ayaka broke you from your musings, by breaking into a small bout of giggles. She’d moved her fan to cover her mouth, attempting to remain composed in the public setting, but you could see the way her shoulders lightly shook. She lightly cleared her throat after a few moments, turning to glance at you with a blinding smile, her cheeks still slightly flushed from laughter.
“Thank you… Spending time with you today has eased up some of my worries. So, I was wondering… Could you meet me at the beach tomorrow night? I have something I’d like to do…”
Ayaka’s words brought a small smile to your face. That’s right… Tomorrow was your birthday. That also explained the sudden invite. You’d been so swamped lately that you’d almost forgotten it…
“Of course, I’ll see you then.”
𓆩♡𓆪
╰┈➤ Ayaka had returned to the estate in a much better mood. She stopped to thank Thoma for his suggestion, and her mind was fairly at ease.
╰┈➤ The walk had settled any conflicting ideas she had on what to do for your birthday, your words still fresh in her mind.
𓆩♡𓆪
The next day passed by quickly, and you felt your anticipation growing with each hour closer to evening. You wondered just exactly what Ayaka was planning.
Finally, evening came and you made your way to the beach to meet Ayaka. When you got there your eyes widened at the scene in front of you, a smile slipping on your face. There, laid out on a small blanket was all your favorite dishes from Kiminami’s Restaurant. Ayaka waved you over, gesturing for you to sit by her.
The two of you sat there, observing the sea fireflies that washed across the rocks, the sea being illuminated by both their glow and the moonlight.
It was silent for a moment, the only sound being the calming swoosh of the waves.
Then, the silence broke and Ayaka turned to face you.
The light of the moon cast an ephemeral glow on her pale features, and part of you wondered if this was just some fleeting dream. You met her gaze as she smiled at you, taking your hand and placing a fan in it, very similar to her own.
“Happy birthday. You’re probably one of the best gifts I’ve received, as well… So, from now on… Let’s spend even more time together, okay?”
You felt your heart surge at her words, your fingers tightening around the fan she’d given you.
Sometimes, it really was the little things…
You cast your gaze to the sky above, a sense of peacefulness washing over you.
“Mm… The moon sure is beautiful tonight, isn’t it?”
